SPEAKER_04

Hi, everybody. Welcome back to the next episode of Double Booked Official Podcast. Please, if you like what you hear here, follow us on all of our social medias as Double Booked Official Podcast and listen to us on Apple, Spotify, and watch us on YouTube. Subscribe, leave comments, leave your five-star reviews because we are essentially hilarious. Um if you are watching this or catching a clip, you'll notice that my background looks very different and sort of prison-like. And this is not too far from the truth. No, I'm not in prison. But we like to spend five or six weeks in the summer at in Ohio, where I am from, where all my cousins are and all the kids' cousins are, and family, and my dad, and my sister, and just having this great time. So uh we have arrived, and when I am in Cleveland, my workstation and my live station is in my mom's basement. Because where else would you want to be if you grow up, go to college, work hard, make sacrifices, become an executive, get married, have three kids, and make all the right decisions. You too could end up working in your mom's basement.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my gosh. But all the flip side to that is so positive. You know, the kids get to hang out with their cousins. Summers in the north are typically a little bit cooler. Now, I was just up there myself and can attest that it is hotter than Hades out there. And good luck. You took it with you. Okay. Oh, I'm so excited. Oh my gosh. Of course, it cools down when I leave.

SPEAKER_04

Um can I tell you how much I love this lipstick I'm wearing?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, you really look gorgeous today. Like, not that you normally don't, but like today is extra.

SPEAKER_04

Today, what do you do? Well, okay, so first of all, today it's it's a myth. It's all a myth. It's just lighting and my Tatcha uh Botox in a stick and my glowy primer, because the reality is right now I feel like a duck spinning the water. Like I am like a one-legged duck trying to swim in a circle. Work life is insane. So that made me feel like I needed to put bring the red lipstick, and I brought the red lip, and this one is actually it's a Maybelline color, and it is called main character energy.

SPEAKER_01

Ooh, I might have to add that to my cart. However, I don't know that I'm gonna be adding much to my cart until the Nordstrom sale because I am getting, I guess I've gone a little overboard since we moved, and if I can't find it, I've been ordering it, which is so terrible because I should be finding things, and instead, everything's just sitting in a box right now. So I don't know that I should order anything else, but maybe the lipstick will make the I mean the anniversary sale is coming up.

SPEAKER_04

I haven't marked in my calendar. I literally please tell me that I am not the only person who literally saves not only the actual day that I can start purchase, which you want to talk about who went overboard. Okay, I was so overboard in using my Nordstrom card this year that I have made like icon status. Like I've been to private parties at Nordstrom.

SPEAKER_01

That's insane. I aspire to be there one day. But as we're talking about as we're talking, this very instant, the previews are being posted. And no, yes, 10 minutes ago. Yes, so I cannot wait to hop on and see what is coming on. I like literally saved myself for months before buying stuff at Nordstrom so that I can literally stock up. And this year, I told myself I am obsessed with Veronica Beard. However, I can only buy like one piece at every little bit because it is a little bit pricey, but it is so well worth it because it's such good quality. But I am totally buying a Veronica Beard Pierce this year.

SPEAKER_04

Peace this year. Do what? Do you know what you want? Like in your mind, are you thinking like a blazer, a dress, a pant?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, listen, it's either a blazer or a dress. That's my those are my go-to's. However, if there's a pair of jeans, I might even consider the jeans because I I like her jeans.

SPEAKER_04

I have so many jeans for you. I so when we got here last night, I unpacked and as surprisingly, I packed too much clothes, I think. But I don't know, I'm kind of loving my closet right now. Like I kind of feel like I've bought a couple, just a couple of really good key pieces, and I'm I'm loving. I feel like I've got a wardrobe.

SPEAKER_01

Man, I'm proud of you because I am completely in this lump. Everything I want to just throw it all away and start new, which is so not what I'm gonna do, but I'm not in the I'm not in that headspace. Okay.

SPEAKER_04

Well, you could get there. There's hope for everybody if there's I mean, listen, the sale's coming up.

SPEAKER_01

Am I just take care of it?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I was craving Viore, just dropped their crimson colors for a lot of their products. They, you know, they launch in colors, and I loved it. And it's like a it's like not a true red, it's like almost like your shirt, like a red with a hint of peach. Oh it. And I was like, oh my god, I love that. But red is bold, I don't own a lot of red clothing, like that's a statement, and you can only kind of make that statement once, I feel like. So I don't buy a lot of red clothes, and then I was like, I have a Fiori gift card from some clothes I returned two years ago. Bingo on my account.

SPEAKER_01

Best day, best day, best day, I've been saving guess what I've been doing.

SPEAKER_04

What is your funniest story for me?

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god, so this is so good. So you never know who we never know who's really listening to the podcast, and and I've been thoroughly shocked by the amount of men that have been listening, and they they tend to be watching our shorts that we post. And so I was at dinner with my family. So went to Pennsylvania, we have a house up there, our whole family goes up for the Fourth of July weekend, and this time we had dinner with my cousins and my aunts and uncles, and so everybody there, there's probably 20 of us at dinner. And my aunt said, Oh my gosh, my husband and my uncle has been watching the podcast or you know, the pieces of it, and he was just dying laughing about the sports bra piece. And I was like, Yeah, you know, that was really funny, or whatever. And she's like, I had no idea why he was asking me the question. And then I realized it was because of the podcast. She goes, So we've we've been going down this rabbit hole, and I have to ask this question, and I think you need to ask everybody. And I was like, Okay. Uh oh. So she proceeds to say, Do you wear underwear with your pajamas at night? Or do you wear underwear at night? And oh my god, this I and so I'm asking you the question, but I'm also telling you, like, this opened up a can of worms at the dinner table. I have never laughed so hard in my entire life as I do at night. And so I, you know, listen, I do not wear underwear with my pajamas at night. And so we just thought that was so funny. She's like, oh my god, I of course do. And we're like, well, you gotta let let it breathe. Yeah, like we just went the next level, next level with it. So it's that that is the question for the audience today. Like, are you wearing underwear with your pajamas at night or at all? Period.

SPEAKER_04

No, I am not. To me, taking your underwear off at the end of the day is the equivalent of how other people feel about taking your bra off. Like, my bra doesn't really bother me that, but when I can take my underwear off and put my pajama pants on, yes, the heavens open. And I have bone to pick with you guys because I have been taking polls of all of my girlfriends, and at some point, all of you bitches gave up thongs, and nobody told me, nobody told me we were giving up thongs. I'm still running around here, lost in my butt cheeks, trying to avoid a panty line.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know the last time. I don't know the last time I wore them. I have not one pair in my drawer, I don't think.

SPEAKER_04

I have not one not pair. I don't even own any granny panties anymore. They're gone. I like cleaned it out, and I only wear thongs, and you people are like, let's go on a magical journey back to Grammy Pants land, and nobody told me, like, not one friend.

SPEAKER_01

Then you definitely look forward to taking yours off at the end of it. Absolutely.

SPEAKER_04

Although I want to say, I was, was I at the gym? I was somewhere where workout clothing was the thing recently, like within the last two weeks. And there was somebody who, like, she wasn't like she didn't, she wasn't unfit, like she didn't have like a bad body, or she wasn't like overweight or thing, you know, she didn't mom bod, right? And she was wearing granny panties with her leggings. And I gotta say, it didn't look good. It didn't, it looked like things are, you know, I I don't want to see the outline of your underwear, squishing some things out. Trust me, we don't need any help creating lumps. We need help with creating smooth lines. So I don't know. I might, I might just stay here longer.

SPEAKER_01

Wow, not me. I just don't wear them with my leggings either.

SPEAKER_04

So I had a friend reach out also, like in the same vein. It was surprising me by watching or listening to our podcast, and she had listened to our peptide episode and had gone to her doctor and done like a full panel of tests and learned that she had an autoimmune disease that she didn't know she had. So I think we're saving lives.

SPEAKER_01

Wow, that's crazy. I do. Yeah, I I appreciate that. That's amazing. That's very good. Right, yeah. So, all right. So we're in the middle of summer. Yeah. You're in Ohio. I just got back from Pennsylvania. Like, what are you looking forward to the most? Right? You have six more weeks, probably, right, with the kids at home. Like, do you want them to stay on break? Are you ready for them to go back to school? Like, have you started thinking back to school yet?

SPEAKER_04

Uh, I have not. I saw my first Walmart ads for back to school shopping this week, and I was like, oh no, not yet. I'm really looking forward to next week because next week, for the first time, all of my children are going to sleep away camp together.

SPEAKER_01

Adios. Bye-bye. Gotta go. So are you doing anything the other way, or is this just believe it? Where are you going? I am going on a work trip. Winner, winner, chicken dinner.

SPEAKER_02

Not really. That's kind of lame. Other people go to Europe. I'm going to some rural town in Middle East.

SPEAKER_01

I have been seeing a lot of people's kids at Kyomp and these amazing vacations that these couples are taking. And I'm not gonna lie, I've been have serious jealousy issues over here.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I yeah, we're we're not, it's okay. We're here for six weeks. Isn't that a vacation?

SPEAKER_01

Eek. I'm driving back to Florida for two weeks, so that'll be interesting.

SPEAKER_04

You're driving?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, because I'm gonna be there for so long. I'm like, I might as well drive. It's only six hours, like it's not that terrible.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, that's true, that's true. I'm just thinking about like we just drove last night. And you know, I was having this debate inside my head because the kids are older and they were on their like phones and iPads the the whole drive. Like we pit stopped for the weekend in North Carolina, so Florida to North Carolina, stayed there for three days, and then North Carolina to Ohio. So nine, 10, 11-hour days, and they literally are just on their iPads and phones the whole time. And I I and then you go through the cycle in your head, like tell them to put it down, tell them to stop, get bored, expand that creativity. We didn't have any electronics, and we would road trip all the time and blah blah blah, and count license plates and street signs, and you're doing your children a disservice. And I'm telling you, when we do, like, all right, guys, I heads down, all they do is fight. They just fight when they're in the car. Everybody's grumpy, nobody wants to be on the road trip. So we didn't fight at this time. We were just like, here's your extra. I'm with you.

SPEAKER_01

I'm with you. We had the same thing yesterday. We had a two-hour car ride, an hour at the airport, an hour and a half flight, and I was like, enjoy it. I mean, and you know, it is what it is. I don't find something fun you like to watch because this might be it for a while, but yeah, you can't.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, of course. Today I woke up like, you better have 60 pages of your reading done, and I want oh god, the spelling, and I excel at math, and so you know, put the groceries away, lock the dogs.

SPEAKER_01

I can't wait to hear if this is actually happening while you're in your dungeon. Be self-sufficient, go make your own damn lunch. Yeah, right. Yeah, right. Oh god. Okay, so I've been looking at some different context for our podcast here. And I literally started laughing to myself when I when I found some of these questions. So I decided I am making this part of the podcast the would you rather? And I will probably chime in on some of these, but I'm gonna ask you because there are let's see, what uh like nine categories, I think, eight or nine categories of questions. So you're gonna get like one or two from each of them, and we will laugh out loud together about them. Okay, let's see. Oh, the this one isn't funny, but this is one for your relationship. Would you rather never argue again or always win every argument?

SPEAKER_04

Oh this is hard because I would like to pretend that I continue to grow as a human being. I I would I don't think I want to give up fights. I I think I'm not tired away from conflict. I don't don't hate conflict, and I think it can be very helpful to have conflict as long as it is respectful conflict. But I also like kudos to you if you can beat me in an argument, man. It's not easy. I'm not wrong with it.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, that's really funny. Okay, I think I know the answer to this one. Would you rather have a spouse who cooks every meal or cleans the entire house?

SPEAKER_04

Oh, okay, cleans. I say cleans.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I'm probably the same on that one. I it's nice for a cook every once in a while, and he does that, but cleaning would be especially picking up at night before everybody goes to bed.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, my husband is a great cook. He doesn't cook often, but when he does, he's a really good cook. But he likes he fancies himself like a chef. So he uses every dish, every bowl, everything, every special weird, nuanced utensil. And so to have to clean up after that every meal would be really annoying.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, that's a pain. No, thank you.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. This one has to do with mom life. Uh-oh. Would you rather do school drop-off forever or sports dance pickup forever?

SPEAKER_04

Oh, I like both of those.

SPEAKER_01

I gotta tell you, like, I do not mind. I actually don't mind school pickup if it was fitting in my schedule a little bit better because you get to hear, especially when you're running carpool, like you get all the goods, the gaslet for the week.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I'm gonna go with sports pickup because I'm not a morning person.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, really? We would make a good, we would make a good pair.

SPEAKER_04

You're a morning person? I am not me, man. I like I tell I can't get out of bed until somebody brings me a hot cup of coffee, and then I just lay there with her for a little while.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, I get up and do the coffee. I specifically do it before everybody gets up, so I have 15 to 30 minutes by myself. So I'm easy, you know, I am the one running the let's get out the door in the morning.

SPEAKER_04

I love that. We would make it, yeah, you're right. We would make a great wife and wife.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, we would.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, we need to make my daughter because my daughter's up at 6 a.m. every day. So you did the stepdad a little real early.

SPEAKER_01

I don't want the kids to be up at that time, right? I know.

SPEAKER_04

So you'd have to get up real early if you want some free time. Oh, yeah, I got a funny story. Speaking of which, so one of my cousins texted there's a group of us cousins that are all going out to dinner tonight, all moms, all busy, all crazy. And one of us has two boys. I have two boys and a girl, and another one has two boys, and then the other one has four girls. And she the one with the four girls, and girls are different than boys, they just are, and they're wonderful in all their great ways. So she texts us a picture over the weekend, and she's tubing on a river with some other friends, and they're girls, also. So girls, all girl kids, and ages between like six, five, six, and fourteen. That's the age range of these kids. And so they're floating, and she's like, You guys have got to go tubing with your kids. It is so relaxing. And both of us, boy parents, right? Like, we've gone tubing many times, it is so fun, it isn't relaxing. It is like taking a pile of puppies to the river, and she's like, No, no, no, no, no. They just float off with their friends and they leave the adults alone. And I was like, I don't know whose kids you're raising.

SPEAKER_01

I live this life this weekend, and we took a bunch of you know, five-year-olds and then my 11-year-old out on the tube, and they were on and off, on and off, on and off, on and off. And I was like, I stayed still, but I'm like, oh my gosh. Now I get it, so it didn't bother me. I was not there for relaxation, I can promise you that. And I was like, oh my gosh, they literally could. I'm like, they need a nap. Like they just had a serious workout.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's all fun. I love every bit of it, but wouldn't call it peaceful or relaxing. Definitely not. And mom, mom, mom, mom, mommy, mommy, mommy, look at this, look at this, look at this, look at this, watch me, watch me, hugs, kiss, hugs, kiss, help, help. This, I mean, it's there's no independence. So maybe I'm doing it wrong. Although my other boy cousin backed me up. She was also I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, okay. So then this would would you rather have teenagers forever or toddlers forever?

SPEAKER_04

Oh gosh. Oh, I love, I love my son who's a teenager. I know it's not always great, and sometimes he doesn't really like me around. I just love who he is becoming, but I mean it's no secret. I would have had a hundred more kids. So I don't, I take some toddlers too. So if I had to pick, I'm gonna go teenagers because I feel like my back would hurt a lot more with toddlers.

SPEAKER_01

Wow. Okay, I would take toddlers forever and ever. Um they're cute, they love you, they want to snuggle, they want to read books, and they just oh me and I'm early in my teenage years.

SPEAKER_04

You have one kid, and he's only 14. So maybe I'm still just jaded, or you know, looking at it through rose-colored glasses.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, so then think about this. Would you rather relive the newborn stage or the toddler stage?

SPEAKER_04

Newborn all day long. Give me some larva, just larva babies that just sleep and I guess it depends on what you like what you see new newborn tell.

SPEAKER_01

Is it like to three months? Is it to six months?

SPEAKER_04

Like, what's a newborn? Ten months is fantastic. Oh god, I love they're fat and chubby and they sleep to the night, but they can't walk yet.

SPEAKER_01

Great age, great age. I didn't, I I like newborns, don't get me wrong, but like zero to two months, meh, I could do without.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. See, this is another reason we would have been a great couple. I love the newborn phase. I love that zero to two months.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, let me move on to my next would you rather baby question. All right. Oh, these are good. Uh oh. This is in regards to friendship. Would you rather accidentally send your group chat screenshots to the person you're talking about or read your best friend's entire text history?

SPEAKER_04

Oh, I would love to read my best friend's entire text history. That I there is some drama there, I am sure. I'm in. I'm in for that. I'll volunteer for that.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I don't disagree with you on this one at all. Like I have done been the person that actually sent the text to the wrong and eek. I'm definitely not loving that feeling.

SPEAKER_04

How did you recover?

SPEAKER_03

You know, listen, sort of ignore.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, like just ignore and move on. That's the only thing you can do, right? Yeah. I do crack up when other people do it. Like I've caught other people that have accidentally done it in a group chat, and I'll text them on the side. I'll be like, oh my God. And they're like, oh my God, I'm freaking out. Oh my God.

SPEAKER_04

I've accidentally I've accidentally hit reply all. I oh, I still live when we worked together. I still live with this panicky feeling. I accidentally hit reply all to a major client we were trying to land, talking about what a pain in the ass the major client was. I do remember this. Oh my God, I thought I was gonna get fired on the spot. And he had like a weird name too. So you couldn't even be like, oops, sorry, Rumble.

SPEAKER_03

I still wake up in a cold sweat some days thinking about that. It was terrible. I learned my lesson, Karma. I learned it.

SPEAKER_01

So far, I don't think I've been the receiving end of anything bad. You know what I mean? Like I'm thinking like, I don't think I've been on the receiving end.

SPEAKER_04

What would you do if like your employees were talking trash about you and accidentally sent it to you?

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god. I might laugh and then give them shit for a while.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. I mean, listen, I'm not what is your leadership style at work when your employees are not performing to the level you expect?

SPEAKER_01

Oh, I think I I'd have to ask here, but I would say because I don't, it doesn't have that doesn't, I shouldn't say one sector of the business, it doesn't happen very often. The other side, I think I become extremely snarky and like very dire, like much more direct in my response. So there's no gray area of what how I'm feeling. It is pretty black and white if I'm not happy or not.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, so then they just pick up that you you are not happy with them and then they change their behavior, or do you ever like directly addresses?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, we have direct patrons. Yeah, no, we directly address because no, I do remember this in my from my daily life. Like, no, I'm my husband's not a mind reader, and I'm not a mind reader. And so I treat it a lot like that. Like, hey guys, like if this is this is continuing to happen, this does not work for me, nor for the company, I'm going to need to see a change in X. And we talk through it, and it it isn't meant, I try to make it more educational than confrontational.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, I'll take some lessons on that.

SPEAKER_01

I would just say you also have to be prepared to let somebody go. And I say that because you do have to track it, but every time we have let somebody go, it the door has opened for something better. And I, you know, I hate to say that we're all replaceable, but I'm replaceable. I know that there's other people that have skill sets that I have, and that's okay. So I continue to strive and be my best every single day. Is I, you know, and those are my expectations for the team as well.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, agree.

SPEAKER_01

No, is I I'm sensing there's some deepness here.

SPEAKER_04

There is, it's very relevant. Relevant.

SPEAKER_01

Well, then let's get back to the fun stuff. All right, travel.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Would you rather stay only stay in luxury hotels or only fly first class? And you cannot say both.

SPEAKER_04

Ugh. I'm gonna say in luxury hotels.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, agree.

SPEAKER_04

If you're there longer than you're on a plane.

SPEAKER_01

True. Oh, this is good because I this is one that I battle. I shouldn't say I battle it, but this is relevant to our work lives. Would you rather lose your luggage or miss your flight?

SPEAKER_03

Lose my luggage.

SPEAKER_04

I don't I I would I would have like not FOMO, because I don't care about missing out on fun, but like I would feel awful if I missed a flight and couldn't make it to an important meeting or didn't, you know, get there to move the ball. Like, I'll just I can go into CVS and find replace toiletries and whatever and run into a Walmart and get a new outfit.

SPEAKER_01

Did I ever tell you the story about Charlotte?

SPEAKER_04

You just show up in Charlotte like oopsie doopsies, forgot I was supposed to bring.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my god, I can't believe I forgot my entire suitcase in my car.

SPEAKER_04

I literally don't even understand that. Although I went camping, I took a bunch of girls, I'm the Girl Scout troop leader, and we took our Girl Scouts camping for their first time last year. And one of them, there's only four mum chaperones, and one of the mum chaperones forgot to bring anything, like anything. We're camping. She has no pillow, no blanket, no sweater, no clothes, no bug spray, no food, no toilet, toothbrush, nothing.

SPEAKER_01

Like she just she forgot it, or she just didn't think she needed this.

SPEAKER_04

I don't know what, I don't know what happened. She had like all the things for her daughter, and we had sent out like packing lists and blah blah blah. And she packed all those things for her daughter and packed nothing. Like wasn't it wasn't like it was sitting on our kitchen sink and she forgot to bring it. She didn't pack anything for herself at all. She like forgot she was a human on the trip, I guess.

SPEAKER_01

Wow. She we might need to check on her, she might be overwhelmed. Yeah. Dang, I will say I'll never forget my first camping trip. And my aunt and I were just talking about it this weekend. She forgot to tell us that we needed the coldest day in Florida history, and we go camping in a tent. And my mom and I are just not campers in a tent, and she didn't tell me how she convinced you to go. Yeah, right. I was also I was very much younger than I am now, and she forgot to tell us we needed an air mattress. She forgot to tell us that we could bring a space heater. Like it was all right. I don't think I had a space heater in a tent for the record. Oh my god. Well, it was the coldest day ever.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, you could it's still flammable. Well, I've done a lot of camping and I've done a lot of cold weather camping, and I don't think you should have a space heater. That would be I would be like, uh, it's gonna tip over and we're gonna die. We're gonna be burned and incinerated in space.

SPEAKER_01

So what do you do for cold weather camping?

SPEAKER_04

First, you gotta get off the ground.

SPEAKER_01

So like a real air address.

SPEAKER_04

I actually have a battery-powered and it and it's safe, like it's just it's not the space heater technology, but it's like a heated blanket, but it runs on batteries, rechargeable batteries.

SPEAKER_01

Well, when I go to camp in 20 more years, they'll do that because I'm definitely not doing it now.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, and you can get the like little hand warmer thingies that you use for skiing. Yeah, stick them in, put a pair of socks on, then put one of those little hand warmers, then put another pair of socks.

unknown

Great.

SPEAKER_04

Keep your feet warm, you'll be good.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, stay here for camping tips from Michael Ann.

SPEAKER_04

I've got them. I'm a child.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, now we're gonna go to beauty and wellness.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Would you rather give up Botox forever or skincare forever?

SPEAKER_04

Botox. Bye-bye, Botox. Yeah, I'm ready to do this now, I think. Oh, did I tell you my aunt said I should just get a facelift? Yeah, she's listening to our episodes and it was like, just go get a facelift. I'm like, whoa, whoa. Are you saying?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that is aggressive. Yeah. All right. Would you rather sleep eight hours every night or eat whatever you want without gaining weight? Eat whatever I want. Me too. We go to so many great restaurants. Like in our lines of work, we are we entertain clients, and I would say we tend to go to some really cool places, and I always just want to stuff my face.

SPEAKER_04

You go when I'm entertaining clients or I am out for my job, we're going to like Chipotle and Texas Roadhouse. You lie.

SPEAKER_00

You lie.

SPEAKER_04

But my husband, who's on the Michelin star bandwagon, he chases those stars everywhere. I would hate to give that up.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, this is an easy one. I'm pretty sure I know where both of us stand on this. Would you rather work out every day at 5 a.m. or never exercise again?

SPEAKER_04

What are the repercussions of like, am I never exercising again? And I will just be like flabby.

SPEAKER_01

Take it out, take it where you want because you just got done eating everything you wanted to eat.

SPEAKER_04

I gotta exercise. I guess I'm gonna have to become a morning person then. I gotta exercise. I like to exercise.

SPEAKER_01

I don't want to though. I definitely don't want to. I hate working out. Okay. All right. Would you this is money? I didn't read, I didn't read the money ones. Would you rather only shop at Target or only shop on Amazon?

SPEAKER_04

Amazon.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

I don't even go to Target very much anymore because of Amazon.

SPEAKER_01

Sorry. Yeah, that's a true statement. Would you rather have a personal chef or a housekeeper?

SPEAKER_04

Chef? That sounds like fun.

SPEAKER_01

So you can have a personal chef and your husband cleaning the house. Exactly. This is totally onto something here. I know. Okay, here are what they consider funny ones. I don't know if I find these funny. Would you rather always have crumbs in your bed or always have wet socks?

SPEAKER_03

Oh, crumbs in my bed. Crumbs in my bed. I hate wet socks.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Okay, this is a good one. This is kind of like the text. Would you rather have your Google search history read aloud or your camera roll shown on a screen?

SPEAKER_04

Camera roll on the screen for sure.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my god, nobody better deep dive into my Google history.

SPEAKER_01

I know. I know. Totally agree. Okay. Would you would you rather be stuck in an elevator with your boss or your mother-in-law?

SPEAKER_04

Oh either. Either one. I enjoy both of them. Maybe my boss, because we have the same sense of humor, so we'd probably just although my mother-in-law, I mean, if anybody's getting us the heck out of there, it's my mother. Right? She is resourceful.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Now I'm gonna give you some rapid fire.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Coffee or cocktails?

SPEAKER_04

Coffee.

SPEAKER_01

Early flight or red eye. Neither.

unknown

Right.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but I've seen her in the airport at 6 a.m. So early flight. Okay, beach or mountains. Mountains. Fancy dinner or takeout on the couch.

SPEAKER_04

Fancy dinner.

SPEAKER_01

Planner or wing it.

SPEAKER_04

Planner. Super planner.

SPEAKER_01

Text or phone call. I know, right? Text or phone call. Probably text. Grocery pickup or shop yourself.

SPEAKER_04

Grocery pickup.

SPEAKER_01

Splurge on shoes or handbags?

SPEAKER_04

Handbags. I wear the crap out of my shoes. I mean, like, I I can't spend like $500 on a pair of shoes because shoes aren't gonna make it more than maybe two seasons.

SPEAKER_01

I totally agree. And I my handbags I have forever and ever, and they don't, I mean, listen, some of them look worn. According to the lady at the Gucci store, you should not wear your purse every day. And I told her, if if I'm but paying this much for a purse, I'm wearing it every fucking day.

SPEAKER_04

Every day. Yes. Every day.

SPEAKER_01

So well, thanks for joining in on my fun because I thought those were great. I popped up this morning, and I was like, oh, we're gonna play a little game today. This is so cool.

SPEAKER_04

I do way harder ones than my kids. Like, would you rather have to put ketchup on everything you eat for the rest of your life or mustard?

SPEAKER_01

Well, neither.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, right? Tough cough.

SPEAKER_01

Eek. No. So that was fun. So what else has been happening? Or what else are you looking forward to for the trip up there?

SPEAKER_04

Um, so we have our big family reunion in August, which I'm really excited. We don't always get to go because in Florida the kids go back to school pretty early. And it's the reunion's always the second Saturday of August. And a lot of times my kids have to start school that Monday or Tuesday. And so we can't be there and then be back in Florida in time. But this year we get to go, and I'm so excited. And it's usually about 150 to 200 relatives. It dates back to this will be our 121st. Last year was our 120th, so it was a big celebration. And we get together, and it's so great to be that close with like that many, like that far out of the extended family. Cause I I don't think that a lot of people have that ability that know your second cousin toys are moved or whatever. Right. That's great. I'm very excited.

SPEAKER_01

And then what do you do with these family reunions? And are they like all weekend? What is it? What do you do?

SPEAKER_04

So the big day is Saturday. That's where we do all the events. So most people will come in on Friday. We t we sleep in tents. We camp in tents. Although some people are now bringing campers because that's a thing now, but I still sleep in tents, and my kids are sleeping in tents with me. And my boys even put the tent up now and get it all set up, and I don't even have to do anything, which is great. So on Saturday, it starts at like noon. We do a family prayer, and then we have a catered lunch, and then we have a bunch of kids' games, like old school, like the egg toss, and you know, no hands eating through the whipped cream to get the bubblegum and tug-of-war and things like that, and corn bag, cornhole bag tournaments. And then we have um a DJ that comes and we dance, and everybody has like you know, beer or soda, like whatever you like to drink. Some drinking, we are Irish, which I find makes us much more talented dancers, if I'm being honest.

SPEAKER_01

Uh do not disagree. I can sing and dance like no other after a few drinks.

SPEAKER_04

To be fair though, you can sing and dance like no other. Sober. I've seen it, it's very entertaining. I don't know that it's that show on the road.

SPEAKER_01

It's not good. It is no good.

SPEAKER_04

So good, it's so good. You are such a performer, you have such a stage presence. I love it. I love it. One day there will be video. I saw, I think, I don't remember where it was, but somewhere near our houses a few weeks ago, a pit bull cave. But I think he's at like a large venue.

SPEAKER_01

He was at the amphitheater, right?

SPEAKER_04

And everybody was so excited. And I was like, oh, I have seen him much closer.

SPEAKER_01

So I am so I'm glad you brought this up. I am so impressed that this man has grown the age category from the kids in middle school and high school through my parents' age. I that is that is talent, Mr.

SPEAKER_04

Worldwide.

SPEAKER_01

Mr. 305, the tickets were like three and four hundred dollars a piece to the amphitheater, which is pretty it's out of control.

SPEAKER_04

Music, like true artist, music like celebrity, it's unattainable. It's unattainable. Yeah, like okay. You know, the acoustics aren't even good.

SPEAKER_01

I agree. I think our the pitbull concert that we went to was like the best.

SPEAKER_04

The best, which I was thinking recently, we need to find a way to go dancing. Is this whole thing? Do people still go dancing? Like, you can't go to the clubs anymore, but we sound so old. Can we just go like do a foxt somewhere?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I was just saying, let's go down to the soda pop shop and do a little jig or the USL club.

SPEAKER_03

Such an old soul.

SPEAKER_04

Did you used to go to clubs in Tampa when you were like just college and immediately post-college? Where did you go? Where did you go? Oh, Whiskey South. You did. They that was the best. Whiskey South was the best.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god. Oh, when they I was there for the last night, and I think you told me Jason was there for the last night, also. Yeah, I was there for the last night, the closing party, and like I loved it there.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, it was the best. It's been unmatched ever.

SPEAKER_01

It has been unmatched. I totally agree. Yeah. I'm always up for dancing, so just tell me where it went.

SPEAKER_04

Where do the old ladies go dancing? If anybody has a suggestion, please drop it in the comments.

SPEAKER_01

When I was living in Tampa, like on Thursday nights in Carrollwood at the Sacred Pepper, the ladies it was like the Cougar's Den, and the ladies would dance there. It got a little dicey.

SPEAKER_04

That's not what I mean, just to be clear.

SPEAKER_01

Totally no, but you should go witness it for yourself.

SPEAKER_04

Have you ever thought about like what is it that? Oh, Becca. Okay. I was asked to do a survey over the weekend. Like people were just walking around taking surveys. I think it was on behalf of like Duke Energy or something. Deep Duke Energy owned this portion of this like conservation area. Long sorry, not important. Anyway, so the lady needed to know my age category, and she suggested to me 25 to 35?

SPEAKER_00

That's a win.

SPEAKER_04

I know. I was like, yes, obviously. But have you ever thought about like trying to narrow down and pinpoint what it is that makes people instantly recognize your approximate age? I do this a lot. Like, yes, okay, there's the obvious wrinkles, but if you could get rid of wrinkles, what else? Is it your style of dress, your hairstyle, what you're wearing, what shoes you're wearing, how you carry yourself? Like, what are all the pieces? And again, I'm not trying to be 20 years younger than I actually am. I'm saying, hey, I would like people to maybe be confused for a five-year window.

SPEAKER_01

Right, right, right.

SPEAKER_04

Like I'm not trying to be.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's an interesting question because I was thinking this morning as I was like writing notes down, I was thinking about fashion in general and fashion for our age category. It feels slightly off at the moment. I don't, I guess I shouldn't say off. I don't know what's appropriate and what is not, because I'm seeing things across the board. You get some of these women who think it's power to them if you can pull off something that shows your stomach like wide open. Love it. I wish I had the confidence. So is that appropriate? Or, you know, some of these dresses sort of look like moo moos and they're cute. Some of them are cute, but like, is that appropriate? Like, I keep going back and forth on what is the right style. I think our age category is lost in style at the moment.

SPEAKER_04

I agree. Although, come back to my closet because I'm rather happy with it right now. I have noticed, I've noticed this for probably the last, I don't know, probably two years, but my husband just started noticing it that nobody wears bras anymore. Oh, really? Yeah, bras are out with not our generation. Well, shouldn't be, but the younger, like column 20-year-olds. They're just they're not wearing the bras anymore. And he's like, you know, what why, you know, this is good, right? Isn't it more comfortable? And men, we don't mind, and you know, but but I was like, be careful of the floodgates you're opening.

SPEAKER_01

No doubt.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, but that's the thing, nobody wears the bras anymore.

SPEAKER_01

I did not know that. I haven't noticed, I guess. Listen, I I feel as if I've been in an oblivion for a while now. I shouldn't say a while, a few months. And I feel as if I just have blinders on and like don't give a shit about anything else around me. Like I'm like focus, laser focused, which is not the best way to be. But I I think I'm gonna come out of it soon.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, well, join me, join me back in the rest of society where they've stopped wearing bras, but we have gone back to thongs.

SPEAKER_01

So you wish, you keep telling yourself this. Let me see your Amazon cart right now. Right? Seamless granny panties. Of course, of course. Okay, so you mentioned the Botox stick. I'm back into looking at different things for my face again because I'm obsessed. And I found a new vitamin C that I'm trying. So give me a few weeks and I'll report back to everybody and then I'll share it if I like it.

SPEAKER_04

I also doing the didn't you the weren't you the friend that tried the um thing, some other thing that was everywhere, and you were supposed to report back?

SPEAKER_01

I tried the one, I want to say it was Chrissy Teagan. Did the smells like plums, plume? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, that is amazing.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

I will I will post that because it really I feel it has hydrated my skin so much. I've been using it at night. It's an oil serum. And just for the record, I'm a pretty dry-skinned person. And I will say I feel way more hydrated. Okay. So that one's been really good. I also just I got some serum that's also an exfoliator. So it's new. I don't know what it's called. I'll post it. But again, I'm in test phase right now for it. So I've just been trying some other pieces. Uh next on my list is eyeshadow. So if anybody has any recommendations on eyeshadow, I'm gonna be in the market. Probably gonna buy it in the sale, Nordstrom sale. So we'll see. Yes.

SPEAKER_04

All right. Well, let us know if you find anything else that is helpful or is working. And if you're looking for eyeshadow, can you also teach me how to put it on?

SPEAKER_01

Because I don't know how to use it. Oh my god, I've been watching some tutorials. The other things that have been so ever since our episode on peptides and all of that, I've been looking at I'm trying a new protein powder, I'm trying a new magnesium gummy. So, like I'm trying the things. I slept, so I'm trying the magnesium gummies last night, and I slept so good until my daughter walked in at 2 a.m. with a hundred and three fever.

SPEAKER_04

Oh no, yeah. So oh no, poor baby. You said the magnesium gummies you got because I could use a good night's sleep.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they, I mean, listen, there's obviously you gotta keep taking them for it to work really, really well, but I felt like I was in a deep sleep.

SPEAKER_04

I am having a peptide struggle. So if anybody can help me with this, so I decided to do glutathione. I've been doing it liposomal for years and love it and have really, really noticed the impact. So I thought, all right, I found an FDA approved or regulated compounding pharmacy. So it felt like it had safe, you know, sterility and efficacy. And I'm like, I'm gonna inject it now and see if that even amps it up a little further. So they sent it to me with like these aren't even needles. I don't know what these are. These are like I can't, I don't these are like epidurals, like I can't use this needle that they send. It's huge. And so then I just got like insulin needles. And then when I try to use them, I think because of the viscosity of the glutathione, it's not getting into the muscle, it's kind of sitting on the surface, and then it hurts, and then it's like a bubble, and then it eventually goes away. But obviously, I'm doing something wrong. Can anybody help me with this?

SPEAKER_01

Okay, that's interesting. I think that's what I just bought. So I'll fill you in if my needles are the same or what have you.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. Or where you're like maybe I'm just putting it in. It's supposed to be a muscular, so I use my thighs because they're pretty, but apparently they're still too fatty.

SPEAKER_01

I mine did not say that, but let's let's compare notes for sure. If anybody has any suggestions, I'm we're all yours.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Um, all right. Well, today's episode was exactly what I needed today for the high stress day job that I have. I needed this levity and this break. So I really appreciate it. And again, if anybody else needed this levity and this humor today, remember to subscribe and like and share and post and follow along on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and watching us on YouTube at Double Booked Official Podcast.

SPEAKER_00
