SPEAKER_00

Hello, everybody, and welcome to the Intuition Era. I'm Emily.

SPEAKER_01

I'm Miranda.

SPEAKER_00

And we are so excited to have you here today. Um, today we're gonna talk a little bit about who we are and where we've come from and how we met and what inspired us to do this podcast. So I'm gonna hand it over to Miranda for her little intro and then we'll go from there.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I don't really have a rehearsed intro, but I'm just gonna spout some stuff about me. Yeah. I love it. Yeah, yeah. I have a lot of degrees that don't really matter and I don't really use them. I feel like a lot of people have that same story. They just like they went to college, they did what they were supposed to do, they got out in the real world and they were like, oh wow, this sucks. Yep. Yeah, that's totally what happened to me. So I started out in like childcare and child education. And I thought I was gonna like save the world. And it turns out the world like kind of broke my heart. So I quit my job. Um, I had a lot of personal stuff happen to me, which we are going to get into the podcast. I will hold nothing back. And then I just started from those personal stuff, I started healing and feeling so much better about my body, about life, about um being a woman. Being in a relationship and what relationships mean, healing relationship trauma. Um, because I have a lot of that. So a lot of that. We'll we'll get into it. Uh but from there I felt so much better after I really went down that personal journey of healing. I wanted to help other women feel the same way. So I opened a life coaching business, which like kind of blew up. Like yeah, dude, it got so busy so quick. I got really into the manifestation and changing the way that my brain works, the way it why it's wired, the way that we think and think about life and how we show up in life. Yeah, it got really busy real quick. The way that I built it was not sustainable, and I love to talk about that and love to talk about my mistakes. So I'm sure that we will talk about how we operate our business and how I'm moving forward.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

But because it got so big, I got really interested in uh therapeutic modalities and the science behind it, all while like trying to merge the spirituality and the manifestation because I feel like they overlap so much that we never really talk about it. And we never yes, yeah, kind of like tiptoe around like the words in therapy. Yeah, and yeah, there are no like rules, but I just I think they're one and the same. And I think that if we were able to merge them, which is what I hope we accomplish on this podcast, it would be medicine, yeah, like true medicine. So right now I'm in an MSW program, I'm getting an LCSW, I want a private practice, but I also still want um my life coaching business because I feel like the spirituality, the manifestation, the high achieving woman, highly motivated woman who is like just needs to understand her body and understand why this disconnect has happened is like magic, like true magic.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Yeah. And it speaks to, you know, like you got to this point because of your own experiences in your life, figuring out what works for me, what were, you know, what helped me to heal, what helped me to, you know, see the other side and be able to come out a different person after going through some hard stuff, right? Like this is, you know, you're being called to being a therapist and being a life coach and being, you know, a manifestation coach. Like all of those things came out of your own struggle, which I think is so beautiful and like really cool that you've been able to take what you've learned and you're kind of compiling all of it into one in some ways.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I think it has to be one.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I don't think that it can be separate. And I tried to do that for so long. Like I tried to be like the working girl, and then I tried to be like the manifestation girl, and then I tried to be the therapy girl, and I just don't think that it's I tried just so hard to like organize it so cleanly.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I don't think that it can be anymore.

SPEAKER_00

So Oh my god, dude, that's where I'm at, right? I'm like, how do I figure out how to be in all these roles? Like one foot in clinical, one foot in spiritual, and you know, navigate those challenges, or just like having them be separate. Can they really be separate? Right. Like I'm still in the beginning stages of navigating that, and you are kind of also in the beginning stages, but in an opposite way almost, which is just so crazy. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Literally opposite.

SPEAKER_00

So yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I started out with spiritual and I'm going, I'm learning the other half. Yeah. So I can merge them. And you started out clinical, and now you're learning spiritual.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Yeah. It's so funny. Our stories have just, you know, aligned in such a way that's like we did the exact opposite thing at, you know, when we were a little bit younger. Like we went opposite, like we went similar routes and then we went opposite routes. And now we're going back to similar routes. Like it's so bizarre how this has happened. So we definitely need to get into our friendship and how we became friends and what that's looked like over the last decade. But I'll share a little bit about me. I mean, you just off the cuff, dude. You just killed that. Like that was so much information and so insightful. Hopefully, I could live up to that as well from my own intro. But do you have anything else you want to share before I jump in? No, take it over, girl. Okay, cool. Okay, so interestingly, kind of the same thing, right? I grew up like not totally sure what I wanted to do. I became a personal trainer at a young age. Like, I think I was like 17, because I started working at a gym when I was 16. And so I was like, oh, I really love helping people to transform their bodies, and that was a big part of my life. And uh my fitness routine was a big part of my life. And so I went and became a personal trainer, and then I went to college and I was like, okay, I'll study kinesiology. And uh dude, I totally forgot that.

SPEAKER_01

I literally completely look, I I swear to god, I've worked out dead. That's his work. I've I completely forgot that you've done that. It was like and it was a huge part of your life.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, dude. It was, yeah. Yeah. And exercise still is, and like lifting still is, and it, you know, it's something that I like really love. But I'm like, I had to figure out how to have a different relationship with it. Um, and we'll get into that at some point later on. Uh, you know, just like with being a woman and like having my body critiqued in so many ways by so many people, that's been a whole journey as well. Um, but I was like, I really love exercise. I really love making people, you know, feel comfortable in their bodies. And I was like, okay, I could be a personal trainer. I really wanted to like have my own gym. And this was back in the day when biggest loser was a thing. And like I always felt like I was, you know, overweight for my whole existence. And so biggest loser was like this thing that I was like, oh my god, like I could be Jillian Michaels, like I could have my own fitness journey. I know she's an asshole, and like, you know, people hate her now, and that's a whole thing. Do they? They do, yeah. Yeah, she was very not nice. Uh, and they just came out with the biggest loser documentary, actually, which um, you know, she refused to be a part of, and people spoke to, you know, how terrible she was. And like looking back, that show was messed up. Like, I cannot believe that we watched that for entertainment. Um God, I've never thought about that. Insane. Yeah. So uh, okay, that's a little tangent, but so I loved Jillian Michaels, and I was like, oh my god, I want to be her. Like, she's this strong woman who, you know, like she's got this fire, and like I have fire within me. So I'm like, I related to her on that level. And so I was like, okay, let me be the next Jillian Michaels. Like I can have my own DVDs that people buy and like have at home for work out and like all of these things. And so I got into kinesiology in school and I was like, okay, this is cool, this is cool, but like science has never really been my thing. And like you kind of need science to understand that realm. And then I broke it down freshman year of college, and I was like, all right, dude, what do I really like about this? I really like about this that I'm helping people, right? Like that's what it comes down to. Does it really matter that it's related to the body? No. Because a lot of times, like what I'm working with people on, like in my, you know, my friends, I'm like helping them in lots of ways, but and it might, you know, relate to their relationship with their body or relate to their relationship with the gym, but it doesn't necessarily always relate to that. Like I feel helpful when I'm just supporting people on their own journey, whatever that looks like. So I was like, okay, let me look at this more in like a broad sense, um, because I was feeling like kinesiology wasn't like it wasn't all encompassing of what I was trying to get at, right? So then I went and took psychology classes and I was like, okay, psych is cool, but also doesn't totally it felt very black and black or white and not really like the gray. And that's where I like to live is like, you know, things aren't black and white in life at all ever. There's always like all of these different dimensions to everything that we're going through. And so I took a social work class and was like, oh my God, like these are my people. Like this is it. And I was like, okay, I'm like switching my major, you know, I think I switched my major like from kinesiology to psychology to social work, like all within freshman year, maybe of or maybe it was sophomore year actually.

SPEAKER_01

I think it was sophomore year because I remember you having rest about that. Yeah. Where it was like the end of our freshman year. Yeah. That's funny that you had that connection with social work because that's the complete opposite of how I feel.

SPEAKER_00

Really? Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

The complete opposite.

SPEAKER_00

My God. Okay, crazy. Well, I think I was also like in this, you know, I've always been like this like worlds on fire mentality. Like, you know, I've thought, you know, this is also, we'll get into this later with like my own mindset coaching and like how I've had to undo a lot of what was done, you know, with when it comes to my thought processes and like my, you know, what I was manifesting in my own life on accident kind of thing. But yeah, I just I felt like social work was so validating in the sense of like I was around people who wanted to help others. I was around people who understand the complexities of life and understood the complexities of the system that we all live within and wanted to make a difference. So I also went in, like, oh my God, I'm gonna save the world. Like, we're gonna make shit happen. And you know, social work school was wonderful. I learned so much about myself. I made so many great friends. Like, it was like I I actually had to look at my transcript my transcripts recently from college. And, you know, some of my bad grades had to do with partying, of course. But it's so funny because it's like it was like freshman year, sophomore year, my grades were so low. I think I was averaging like a C or something like that. And then once I got into social work school, it was straight A's. And then when I did my master's program, straight A's. And I was like, okay, my brain just aligns with this clearly. Like this stuff is what I'm meant to be doing. So anyway, long story short, I went to social work school for undergrad, went to social work school for my master's, and then I worked in residential treatment with teenagers for a number of years. Um, and then eventually I branched off and opened my own private practice. And so, you know, in opening my own private practice, uh took a lot of mindset work and like me understanding myself to eventually get to the point where I was like, okay, I actually can count on myself to like create a career for myself and create a a job and make it sustainable outside of someone else hiring me, right? And so I just kind of like started this journey, I think two and a half years ago or so, where I was taking clients on the side of well working full time and then it's been two years. It's been two and a half years, yeah. Wow. I think that's right. I'm like, I try to go back and think about it, but yeah, I was working in residential for like four years, but I I was only there full time for like two and a half. And then I worked there part-time to support my business, starting, you know, my private practice starting up. And then um I went full-time in my private practice September of 2025. So September this year will be a full year of doing full-time. So still navigating lots of things about, you know, the newness of it and just like figuring out my systems and what it means to be fully self-employed. And so in this journey, you know, I've done a lot of a lot of working with life coaches myself and was like, okay, you know, being a social worker is wonderful, but also there's all of these other things that I want to do. Like I want to incorporate spirituality, I want to incorporate, you know, mindset coaching and like all these other things that really helped me to fully embody the woman that I want to be when it comes to like my business or my personal life. So then I was like, okay, how do I get into the spiritual world and really have fun doing it? And my life coach I was working with, she was like, look, there's so many doors that are open for you. You just like your spirit guides are saying, like, just pick one thing and stick with that and stop trying to do everything all at once. Cause I mean, hello, Aries. I'm an Aries, I have ADHD, also Gemini moon. So, like, you know, there's just like a lot of movement. And uh I love starting new projects, but then I, you know, I the follow-through is the hard part for me. I'm really good at the initiating, but then when it comes to like the study every day, like I'm like, fuck that, you know. So I she was like, just pick one thing. And I was like, okay, cool. Like, I just got this birth chart reading done, and astrology is like uh it's so concrete in some ways. People have been studying it for so long, there's so many books on it. Like I can pull from many, many, many resources. And so I had because I thought about doing numerology, but there's less out there on numerology. So I was like, let me go to astrology school and see what that's all about and just commit to astrology. So in September of 2025, I started astrology school and I just graduated in uh I think February end of February of 2026.

SPEAKER_01

That was a huge decision for you too. I remember that. Oh my god.

SPEAKER_00

It's so crazy because like when you look back, you're like, oh yeah, that was no big deal. But then when you remember like the anxiety, the fear, the stress. Yeah, the like we're stressed. My God, I was like, Am I really about to spend this much money on going to astrology school? Like, what does that even mean? Yeah. But that's you know, like we started this podcast because we were like, like all of these crazy little stories that we have where we like went off the path and it was super rewarding. Like, all of those things came from us trusting our own intuition, right? So, you know, that's like a big part of this, and that we'll keep talking about throughout, you know, the next few episodes is like, how did we choose to follow our intuition? Like, how did we rely on each other to encourage each other to trust our intuition? And you know, I only was brought to astrology through intuition, my own and other people's who supported me along the way. Um, so now I have my own business doing astrology as well. And so I'm offering birth chart readings and I'm offering life coaching, which we can get into later about the specifics of that, but life coaching, which is like astrology-informed life coaching. So we kind of use the birth chart to support in creating goals and learning how to understand ourselves kind of thing. It's awesome, and it's been so rewarding and so just like life-giving for me. And yeah, I'm gonna end there. That was a lot. That was really great. Thank you.

SPEAKER_01

That's really great. You've done so many different things in such a short amount of time.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah. I mean, I've just been like searching, dude. Honestly, I'm just like in this constant searching, searching, searching. And uh, I think, you know, part of that is like, you know, I have a 12th house son, which we'll explain later on. But like, you know, there's comes this like, who am I, you know, energy to me. And I'm always trying to figure that out. And I don't know that it ever will be figured out, but I've tested the waters in lots of different ways so that I could try to figure that out. And then, you know, also being in Aries, Aries is the baby of the zodiac. Aries is sign number one. And so with Aries kind of comes this energy of like, I'm stepping into the world for the first time as a soul, and like I'm ready to make shit happen. Like, get out of the way. I'm gonna start this, I'm gonna do that. Like, don't hold me back. And so, you know, I've taken that to the max in some ways and burned myself out, you know, hasn't always been perfect. Um, but it's been really cool to do, you know, a lot of different things. And, you know, we take all of our experiences and they make us who we are and they make us better therapists, better coaches, more well-rounded humans. So I feel really grateful for all those experiences.

SPEAKER_01

I think it's so funny that astrology came into your life when you I mean, you j you just said it, you were really looking for answers. And you were really looking for, you've always asked the question of like why and how? How is this gonna work? Why is this happening? And I you would always call me and you would always say, like, okay, what's going on? Like, how do I do this? If I do this, how is it gonna work? And it would just be like question after question. And I would always respond to you and say, that is the wrong question to ask. Like that is the absolute if you're asking how and why, like, that is the wrong question to ask. But so many people, and I myself included, had to figure out like, I was so disconnected from my body, and I feel like you were too. Yeah. Where it was like, we had no idea even what intuition was and what that felt like because it was a constant like questioning of every single thought that came into our head. So if there was a strong intuitive nudge, we would just hop on it. Yeah. And add so much anxiety and add so much like questioning and add so much pressure to it. Right. Yeah. And I it's so funny to hear you talk about astrology when you explain your personality traits because like you are the most impatient person I know.

SPEAKER_00

My God, I can't. You can't stand it. Miranda, the thought of being impatient drives me fucking insane.

SPEAKER_01

Universe is like especially with you, because I do feel I'm rolling my eyes. I do feel like with especially with you, they're like, okay, pull back, wait, be patient. It's coming. Like, and you can't stand that part.

SPEAKER_00

You can't eat Which is which is insane because I'm like, it's so funny. Like lately, I've been in this like holding pattern where like the universe is just like, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Like, we got it coming, dude. Don't worry about it, don't stress about it. You don't need to know how. But like, you know, and I'm hearing this, you know, from my just kind of how I'm feeling. And I'm also hearing it from my cards, my my tarot deck, right? Like, I've been I pull a card every day, or well, I pull multiple cards every day because I want to know more and more and more. And you know what my deck keeps telling me? They keep being like, there are delays for reasons that you do not need to know, understand, like just like shut up. They're like, sit down, shut up, do what you're supposed to do. But like when I get like that, I'm I get like oh fuck. All right, now I'm depressed, right? So it's like when I, you know, I said earlier, I live in the gray, but when it comes to my emotions, I'm very black and white sometimes. So wicked. Yeah. And so it's like, it's crazy to live in my head. It's a little crazy. It's a little much. And um, you know, it's it's I love that people think that I like have it all together. And also, like, I'll share more about astrology as we go along, but I'm also a Taurus rising. And so Taurus has this like, I have it togetherness, I'm the steady rock, I I show up grounded, I show up present, I hear you, I am with you, um, I'm patient with you, that kind of energy. Like Taurus is that energy. And so that's my rising sign. That's how I show up in the world. So, you know, people receive me way differently than how I feel internally.

SPEAKER_01

Internally, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. So that's just, you know, that's a whirlwind of its own. Um, so yeah, I think that learning like to let go of the how. Like, I'm always like, God, how is this gonna work? Universe, how is this gonna work? Miranda, pull a card, talk to my spirit guide. Someone tell me how this is gonna work because I don't know how it's gonna work, and I need it to work out, and I need, you know, and I feel like it's gonna work out, but I don't really understand what's going on right now. And all of you guys are just like, you gotta be patient.

SPEAKER_01

It's like screaming to you. Like every time you tell me I'm pulling like cards multiple times a day, like that is not surprising to me because of how you are. And every time they're like, your sparrow guides are like, bro, just like chill. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I have like limited chill. And yeah, I'm like, I'm often freaking out in my head a little bit or a lot of it. So yeah, I definitely that's like something that I really need to work on, which is so funny because interesting that you said the word impatient, because I was just uh so I went to astrology school at Deborah Silverman Astrology School. It's an applied astrology school through her through her business. And so absolutely incredible, totally recommend. Um, I did levels one, two, and three, and I audited level two, and like I'll get into that more in the future. But basically, they have an opportunity right now where um people can apply to become a mentor or teacher for their school. And it's like definitely a bit of a stretch since I'm still like a baby astrologer. But anyway, I was like, I'm gonna, you know, put myself out there and just I don't technically have everything that they're asking for for qualifications, but I'm just like, let me see, you know, I was like, my intuition was like, no, like, you know, they might want to hire you, so you need to apply. So I was like, all right, let me just apply and see what happens. So anyway, the application's wicked long. It took me like a few weeks to just like really put some thought into it. And uh the last thing that I have to do for the application had to do for the application was um, they said, take a one-minute video of yourself explaining to to someone who doesn't know anything about astrology what it means to have your sun sign. And so my sun sign's an Aries, right? So I had to like record myself doing one minute of saying, like, okay, well, a sun sign in astrology is blah, blah, blah. And like being an Aries means da-da-da-da. And here's what I struggle with, and here's what I'm good at. And uh I so I looked back at my notes from school, and the like one of the challenges with being an Aries, the one of the first words they have is impatience. That's what that's one of the challenges. And I was like, damn. Yeah, that feels accurate, and that's something I gotta work on, man. Like, that's really like to be patient with myself, with the universe, with my friends, with my family, with my living situation, with you know, everything. And uh, so it's like the oh god, what's the saying? I used to listen to this pastor who would talk about like, don't pray for patience because then you'll be stuck behind a slow car and you'll be pissed off wondering why you're stuck behind a slow car. But that's God being like, here's learning how to be patient. Yeah, yeah. I don't really want it, but I know that I need it, right? Like it's one of those things.

SPEAKER_01

I think you feel so fully your manifestations in your body, and it's like you feel it fully, and it's like, okay, I already have it, it's some dimension, it's already in my vortex, like it's already coming to me. And you're like, why is it not my reality right now?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, it's crazy. Yeah. Well, we have a lot to get into, dude. I am just like all of these little tangents, like we could go for hours and hours talking about all this. I feel like I feel like there's like there's so many little branches that I want to tell people about, about like your life, my life, like how we got to where we are today, because I think it's so helpful. Like for me, you know, where I've spent a lot of time in my life is like learning how did other people get to where they are, how did other people work through that really hard thing, so that I can use that to like level up in a way. Like, I truly believe we learned through experience, and so we can't really fully learn anything from hearing from somebody else, like you can't, you shouldn't do this, or you know, you can't do that. But like it's so helpful for me to hear like the real authentic reasons of why people went a certain way. And I just feel like we're gonna get into that and like we already have, and I feel like it's gonna be so valuable for people. And you know, we're gonna have lots of people on this podcast as well who are also going to share their route of how they got to where they are and how their intuition led them in a certain way. Um, so I'm just feeling like really excited.

SPEAKER_01

Me too. Yes. So cool.

SPEAKER_00

It's gonna be really good. It's gonna be so good. Okay, well, we're gonna end this episode here for today. And next episode, we're gonna chat about who we are in a different way, but how we got to know each other, how we became friends. We've been friends for over a decade. Um, and we're just gonna talk a little bit about our friendship and why we decided to do this podcast together. Yeah. All right. Yes, see you soon.
