Welcome to the Crank It Up Sports Card Podcast with your host, Parker Johnson, and co-host Matthew Eberson.
SPEAKER_02Who the heck is that? What's up, guys? Thank you for coming back. Or if you're just, you know, tuning in for the first time, we appreciate it. Uh, I am Parker, and that is Matthew over there. Uh, right there. And uh, we're getting into our is this our ninth ninth episode. Ninth episode. What are we gonna do for 10th? We probably need to do something crazy for our tenth episode.
SPEAKER_00We should do like a giveaway or something.
SPEAKER_02That would be sick. Giveaway. That's what we're doing. We're coming up with that like literally on the spot. We'll have to figure out what we're giving away. Just thought of that. Yeah. That's what on the spot means. But we're gonna be doing something like that for the next podcast.
SPEAKER_00You young creatures. Unique way of saying things.
SPEAKER_02Anyways, let's um yeah, let's figure that out. Let's brainstorm. Not right now, of course. We have a podcast.
SPEAKER_00Or on the spot.
SPEAKER_02Let's let's do it afterwards.
SPEAKER_00Let's do the podcast first.
SPEAKER_02Let's do that first. Let me check my notes. Yeah, podcast first, then our brainstorming session comes later.
SPEAKER_00We're getting this podcast thing down.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I think so. I feel good. You feel good?
SPEAKER_00About the podcast.
SPEAKER_02I guess.
SPEAKER_00I guess that's what we were talking about.
SPEAKER_02You got any shoulder pain?
SPEAKER_00I have a question for you.
SPEAKER_02That's thunder, isn't it?
SPEAKER_00Thunder. Um it's not about the the storm or anything. Okay. Okay, go ahead. Uh it seems like we have a really good rookie class in baseball. Yeah. Very good uh rookie class in basketball. For sure. And uh decent in in football, maybe.
SPEAKER_02I think it'll be a couple stars, but not like a big sample size to pick from, I guess.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Um I kind of think uh maybe some of those players that got hurt last year, that rookie class, maybe they rebound this year. Yeah, true. But as of right now, it's June, middle part of June. Well, late later part of June. Later part. And maybe baseball is fresh on our our minds, but yeah, out of all of the rookie classes currently, who would you invest in?
SPEAKER_02It's a good question. 2026 rookies, I'm assuming.
SPEAKER_002026, 25, 26 uh basketball.
SPEAKER_02So not like rookie card, like, oh, I would choose you know, this rookie card from 2022 or something like that. You're talking about 2026 right now.
SPEAKER_00Current rookie athlete.
SPEAKER_02I think that um Marikami's been really hot. I know he got hurt for a little bit. Um, but to me, one of the things what that I look at um when um deciding if I kind of want to invest in anybody is um how young they are. And I think Marikami's a little bit older than some of the other guys. Um let's uh let's actually take a look at some of his stats real quick. I'm gonna I'm gonna pull it up because I have his teammate is someone that I kind of think that would be a better investment, in my opinion.
SPEAKER_00Marikami's teammate.
SPEAKER_02Mary Kami's teammate. Okay. Uh so let's look at this. Well, and and if you It is really windy out there.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. We have a tin roof over here too. I can hear it very well.
SPEAKER_02Can you hear it? Guys, are y'all okay during this storm? Let us know in the comments.
SPEAKER_00Maybe we should just uh not talk for a few minutes and turn this into a sleep podcast.
SPEAKER_02Hey, that'd be cool. That'd be cool.
SPEAKER_00Some people tune in for the sleep noise. It's easy for you to spell. Um and you also gotta think uh now this year's rookie class in in football, perhaps uh you can think about that. You could also think about the the new ones that were just drafted.
SPEAKER_02That's true. That's true.
SPEAKER_00Mendoza that I did not think about as we as we uh try to figure out how old Miracami is.
SPEAKER_02I'm trying to I'm trying to figure out. Well, I'm looking up that gum, it is coming down out there.
SPEAKER_00It sure is.
SPEAKER_02Uh is it but I can't I'm trying to think of the Montgomery's as well. There's two.
SPEAKER_00Braden and Colson.
SPEAKER_02Is Braden the one that I'm thinking of?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, he just uh came up and he had a walk-off home running.
SPEAKER_02Okay, there's not Braden Montgomery, I'm thinking of.
SPEAKER_00How old is Braden?
SPEAKER_02I'm thinking of Colson Montgomery. Is that who has the 20 home runs right now?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Braden was just called up. Last week he hit a walk-off home run against the Birds.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that was crazy. I think I would invest in either one of the Montgomerys, though, is who I was trying to see. I was trying to see age and stuff. Like Colson Montgomery uh has the 20, 20 home runs.
SPEAKER_00Um, as a hobby, we've we've known to kind of steer away from pitchers. Would you stay stay clear of pitchers? Because you got a very good one right now in Jacob Mizerowski.
SPEAKER_02He throws so hard he scares me. Yeah. I mean, I think that there's hype right now if you bought him quick and flipped him, but I don't think I'd hold him right now. But I don't know. Uh I think that the uh Montgomery guys, I think both of them look good. I think Colson Montgomery looks a little bit better. I think he's a little bit younger as well uh than the uh Merikami.
SPEAKER_00Oh, than Miracami. Well, you gotta wonder if Miracami turns into I mean, I know he doesn't pitch, but does he turn into the offensive threat that that show is? The big uh the big drawback to him, they said that the he couldn't hit velocity. Seems like he's doing okay with uh I think he is.
SPEAKER_02He's uh he's 24, by the way. Mirakami. Braden Montgomery. Oh man. No, Mirakami is uh still can't spill spell Mirakami. No, I was looking at their war and all that stuff. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Well, but yeah, but that's maybe you should get uh Taylor to help you over there to spell Mirakami.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, probably. Uh 26, okay, so not that much. But I don't know, coming up at 26 or getting into league at 26, I guess. You know, Judge came in at 26 or 27, so you still have you he could you could do something like Judge, but Judge is so good year in, year out that I feel like it's nice to have those counting stats for long-term holds. And I think the younger you are, like Juan Soto coming up super early, Trout, Harper, all those guys coming up at 18, 19, 20 years old, I think always helps, you know. Um so I would I would personally say I mean the White Sox, they're kind of fun right now. I know they did walk it off against the Braves, so I'm not happy about that. But they're kind of fun right now. They got a lot of young talent. Um I would personally kind of keep a lookout on those. And then pitching, if you're quick flipping, maybe Jacob Mizarowski, because he is so hot right now. But throwing 103, 104 day in, day out, it just scares me.
SPEAKER_00I think it's uh it's not a question of when he'll have an injury. It's a question, yeah, no, actually, if. Yeah, it's when.
SPEAKER_02It's when. It's not a question of when, it's just like, I mean, when, is he? You know?
SPEAKER_00It's a question of yeah.
SPEAKER_02It's not a question of when, it's a question of did he. Did he have one?
SPEAKER_00I mean, he's he's consistently hitting, you know, it's 103, 104, 105 in as a starter. It is insane. And um his average fastball velocity is 99.8. Uh, I don't think that's sustainable without an injury.
SPEAKER_02I don't think so either, unless he's just some like genetic freak or something, which I don't know. Well he is great.
SPEAKER_00He is lanky, yeah, and I think the more athletic um bodies tend to hold up better. Yeah. But there's there's not a there's not a picture outside of schemes, and maybe he has his injury in a couple of um, you know, in in in in a little bit, but uh there's there's not one of those you know, top five arms that have haven't had a injury.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I think it's Did you see that Nolan Ryan said that uh Mizorowski was better than him?
SPEAKER_00No, I did not.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Look into that, it was interesting. Okay. He was saying he was saying that he was better than him and that he didn't really trust the um radar or whatever they used back then.
SPEAKER_00I've I've I've seen some people say that that they think that Nolan was actually throwing harder than than the radar gun said that he he was throwing back in the nineties. Yeah. And I kind of wonder that because every major league player, I mean, they were intimidated by his fastball.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I know for sure. Um soccer's going on.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, soccer.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. So let's go to our next seg uh segment. Uh our game time segment.
SPEAKER_00You were you were given you were given your uh World Cup uh champion. You were predicting that like you know, we predicted the Spurs and Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Yeah. We were wrong about the Spurs.
SPEAKER_00We were wrong about the Spurs.
SPEAKER_02We were very wrong about the Spurs.
SPEAKER_00Um I was by one game, but two wrongs don't make a right.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Unless two you know four rights make a left turn.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Okay.
SPEAKER_00Maybe.
SPEAKER_02I don't even know if that's true. Right now I'm trying to think about it.
SPEAKER_00Well, no, four right turns gets you right back where you are.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Four yeah, four rights makes you.
SPEAKER_00So who do you think's winning the World Cup?
SPEAKER_02Uh USA.
SPEAKER_00USA, okay.
SPEAKER_02Obviously. Yeah. Don't you?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's who I'm pulling for.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, we're pulling for USA. Um, do you think that uh it should like that we should call it football as well? It makes a lot more sense to me to call it football. You don't think it makes it more sense? You I mean you're kicking a ball around the whole time.
SPEAKER_00Where where do we live?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, no, I know, but I'm just asking. Where do we live?
SPEAKER_00I asked you a question.
SPEAKER_02The US.
SPEAKER_00The the US.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. You know United States of America, some would say.
SPEAKER_00Some would say. What do we call it here? Soccer. Soccer. It's soccer.
SPEAKER_02I'm saying it makes more sense to call like if you're just, you know. I mean, it's kind of like football. Just like kicking it the whole time.
SPEAKER_00Well, it could be kickball.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I th I like kickball. Let's call it kickball.
SPEAKER_00Let's kick kickball. We're calling it kickball. I know somebody else that calls it kickball. I agree with you.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Sounds good. You want to go to the games now?
SPEAKER_00No, you didn't give you didn't give your winner. USA. That's that's it who you were pulling for. You didn't say who it was going to pull for.
SPEAKER_02I don't know. Who are you? Who do you think's gonna win?
SPEAKER_00America. Let's go to our next segment.
SPEAKER_02That's crazy. Okay. Okay. We're gonna do something different. A different game today. Okay. Um you know what it is. Don't act like you don't know what it is.
SPEAKER_00Why would I act like I know what it is? You came up with it. Did I? This is your game. My game?
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00All right. Should be fun then.
SPEAKER_02Uh yeah, it's gonna be a lot more fun than our normal uh segments. Um you come up with. Or or five not guesses, I guess, but without looking, career totals, they can be current or not current. Okay? But it's just their career totals. Okay. So, you know, if you pick a rookie from this year, like Montgomery, who's hit one home run.
SPEAKER_00With that, I mean, if you know 999, exactly. You you'd win.
SPEAKER_02So you have five people that you have to to come up with without looking at career totals, and the closest to a thousand home runs wins.
SPEAKER_00Oh, okay. All right. Sounds like a good game, yeah.
SPEAKER_02You go first and I'll be I'll be looking at the career totals and I'll add them up.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_02All right.
SPEAKER_00Um we we should like I know w we're not betting people, but like we should say, like, if I win, I get you know if you win, you get to give the giveaway away, and if I win, I get to give the giveaway away. Wow, I'm ready to win now.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you like that? That's a good no, I'm just playing. I don't know. I don't know. Oh, we can buy each other uh uh lunch or something. Except I do feel like you're gonna you're probably gonna win, but that's okay. Well, yeah.
SPEAKER_00You're so much older than me, I feel like you can like really I'm gonna start with one of my favorite players.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_00Uh Atlanta Brave Dell Murphy. I know exactly how many home runs he had.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I don't think I'm gonna be very good at this. 398.
SPEAKER_00398, okay.
SPEAKER_02398. Like 40 percent. Now, okay, wait a second. Do I get to do I tell you the career total every time? That well, that would help me. It would yeah, okay, let's do that. That'll be a little bit more helpful.
SPEAKER_00Okay, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, let's do that. Because if I if we didn't know, we were just guessing and couldn't know their career total until after it was all added up, I feel like that would be really bad.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Okay, and then let's let's go somebody still high. Um let's do uh Nolan Arenado. So I got 398 plus Nolan Arenado. I think he's prior to 361.
SPEAKER_02That's actually more than I thought it would be.
SPEAKER_00361 and 398. Man, I don't have much left.
unknownNo, you don't.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Um let's go with um Raphael Belyard.
SPEAKER_02Two.
SPEAKER_00Two. Two.
SPEAKER_02So you have to you have two more guesses.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Um let's see.
SPEAKER_02So what are you looking up over there?
SPEAKER_00I'm just adding two hundred and thirty-nine. Let's see, two hundred and thirty-nine.
SPEAKER_02That's crazy. We need a reference. This is a great game. Can we get an instant replay on if he was actually looking up uh anything? Okay. You got two more.
SPEAKER_00Two more. Two more. Um Ronald Acunia Jr. Hopefully I didn't go over.
SPEAKER_02193. I think you're gonna do really good at this. I think you're gonna beat me. I don't know, that might be a well, no, I think you're still gonna beat me.
SPEAKER_00So 54. Drake Baldwin.
SPEAKER_02Ooh. Did you go all braves on that? No. 33.
SPEAKER_00Nolan Arenado's not brave. No, he's not.
SPEAKER_02So 987. Wow. That's really good. 13 away. I I'm not uh I don't feel confident right now that I'm gonna get inside 13. That's crazy. It's kind of crazy. Okay. I think I'm gonna uh I think I'm gonna do what you did first and go with uh some higher numbers first. And the higher numbers I am gonna go with is Trout.
SPEAKER_00Mike Trout. I I should have already been to typing that in.
SPEAKER_02You should have been, I think he's at around like what, 420.
SPEAKER_00421.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Okay. So I do I need to keep up with this. I can do 421. 421. Okay. Um and then let's go Judge.
SPEAKER_00Does Judge have our first name?
SPEAKER_02Aaron Judge.
SPEAKER_00806 with the two. He had he has three of 85.
SPEAKER_02Well, wait, so I'm at 806. 806. Okay. Okay.
SPEAKER_00With three people to go.
SPEAKER_02Yep. Yep. I like it. I like it. Let's go Bobby Witt Jr.
SPEAKER_00Bobby Witt has 115.
unknownWow.
SPEAKER_00You're getting close.
unknownWow.
SPEAKER_00So you're at 921. With and I have two guests to leave. Two guesses left. So two guys under like 35. I would pick some like don't tell, don't tell me.
SPEAKER_02Don't tell me. Okay.
SPEAKER_00Just do it your way.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Um I'm trying to think. Let's go with Tom Glavin.
SPEAKER_00Might take me a second to find his home run total. Where is his batting? This is great, great podcast here.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. You can't just like type it. Do you need help typing? Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Not holding. Nothing.
SPEAKER_02You want me to type in just Tom Glavin home run total?
SPEAKER_00Alright. One home run.
SPEAKER_02Yes. Okay. I thought it was low. I knew it was low, but I didn't know it was that low. Okay, so I'm at 922. Okay, so I need somebody who had like uh what 78 home runs? Ugh. Yeah, I don't feel like I put myself in a great spot. Okay. Okay. Actually, you know what? Let's go.
SPEAKER_00You just have to beat me.
SPEAKER_02You don't have to like let's go Corbin Carroll.
SPEAKER_00Pretty good. 95. He went over.
SPEAKER_02I went over. 17 and you were 13. That was pretty close.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02That was pretty close. Man, I didn't think he'd have that many. I wonder how many of those are uh inside the park home runs. He's pretty fast.
SPEAKER_00He is pretty fast.
SPEAKER_02I didn't think he uh was up that high yet. That's kind of surprising to me.
SPEAKER_00Well, he debuted in 23.
SPEAKER_02Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Pretty good. Yeah. It's pretty good. He's got a lot of hummers. All right. Yeah, that was fun. You want to do it again?
SPEAKER_00You want to do that again, or do you want to go on to uh another? Wavelength? Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Wavelength time?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I have a number.
SPEAKER_02Okay, you have a number? Okay. So I'm asking you a question.
SPEAKER_00That's the way it works.
SPEAKER_02And then you're gonna tell me how you feel about it?
unknownYeah. Okay.
SPEAKER_02Um let's go with what um people who are current right now in baseball, like they're for sure Hall of Fame, nowhere close to Hall of Fame might get in the Hall of Fame. Thank you. Thank you. I tried. That's why it took me, you know, you you saw me pause for an extra couple seconds. Firing on all cylinders, right there.
SPEAKER_00So let me just come up with the player though.
SPEAKER_02Um so like for sure, Hall of Fame worthy, like like Trout, Otani, Judge, that would be a 10. That's like best. And then, you know, not getting in at all is a zero or one, I guess.
SPEAKER_00Um maybe for somebody newer, um, it would be a low low number at the moment. Yeah, probably. Okay. I would say um let's go with Danzby Swanson.
SPEAKER_02Okay. I don't think he's a Hall of Famer, but I think that he's kind of yeah, I don't think he's like not a terrible player by any means. Where would your number be? I would think I'd be in the middle of the road right now, like five. That's where I'd be. Um okay, so bring me up or down with this next one. Or or keep me in the same uh same place, wherever I need to be at. That's uh that's where I'll be at. Um let's go prospect that you think is not called up yet, but is gonna be really good.
SPEAKER_00Really good.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. So not not called up yet. I mean, we're not counting, you know, Connor Griffin or anybody that just got called up.
SPEAKER_00Someone still And if he's not very good and probably not gonna get called up anytime soon, a lower number. Yes. Okay. Uh let's say Billy Aiming.
SPEAKER_02Okay. I feel like that may be lowered in my opinion. I think I'm in like the three to four range now. Okay. That's where I feel like last question. Yep, last question. Last question. Um most likely to win the World Series based on standings right now.
SPEAKER_00Pittsburgh Pirates.
SPEAKER_02Okay. I don't know their record off. Am I allowed to look up the record off? Sure. Am I allowed to do? Is that is that breaking the rules? I don't think it's uh the best record.
SPEAKER_00Unless they have well the pirates aren't winning. But yeah.
SPEAKER_02They are playing 500 baseball.
SPEAKER_00But they're not winning.
SPEAKER_02I right. They're not winning.
SPEAKER_00At the current state. I mean, if they had Scoobyl and and Jordan 4 range, I just feel like I don't know.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna guess three.
SPEAKER_00Four.
SPEAKER_02Oh, so close. Those were good answers. Those were good answers. And I think those were good questions. I'll just go ahead and say it. Um Okay. You uh I'll go now. Okay. And you can ask me questions. Um I'm gonna go with uh I've got it.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_00Best candy bar.
SPEAKER_02Best candy bar. This is very subjective. Very subjective. Very subjective. Very subjective. Snickers.
SPEAKER_00See, I like Snickers. I'm thinking around nine.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Okay. All right. Um baseball ball ballparks.
SPEAKER_02Like how much we like them, personally, how much we like them?
SPEAKER_00Like I've never been to San Francisco, but I think their their park would be nice to go to, the big glove in the bay by the bay.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna say the uh Angels Stadium.
SPEAKER_00Angels. Uh I'm thinking kind of a lower number now. But you might want to go because of trout. I don't know. So I'm thinking it brought it down. I'm saying they're around a seven. Okay. Okay. And last question. Best junk wax set.
SPEAKER_02Ooh, best junk wax set. That is a good one.
SPEAKER_01You're feeling a seven.
SPEAKER_00I'm throwing out eighty-nine upper deck. I uh it's junk wax, but it has Griffey's rookie in it. Okay. And Randy Johnson's rookie and Smoltz's rookie.
SPEAKER_02And you're uh you're at a where are you feeling? Number one? Seven. Seven. Then I will say um tops eighty-seven.
SPEAKER_00Tops eighty-seven. I think that brought it up a little bit. I like the the like grainy looking border. Um eight.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, let's go. That's right. Let's go. You were nine, seven, and eight. Those were your guesses. You were dancing all around it from the very beginning. That was good. That was good. We did it. I feel like accomplished. That was wavelength, yeah.
SPEAKER_00We do have some releases coming up.
SPEAKER_02Um maybe you can kind of rank those okay like of my personal favorites. Yeah. There's some that already came out, like this week. Uh some that I really do like.
SPEAKER_00What do you really like?
SPEAKER_02Um cosmic, always. Cosmic always. Cosmic football. Cosmic football. Uh there's Top Scrum Black Football that's coming out as well. I like uh we've talked about it on here that I like the set of uh the matte black finish to all those cards. They look really good. Um and it's the first year that foot that they're doing football on its license, so I I am excited for that. I don't know if I'll personally buy any because I'm not I don't personally collect football, but um I'll definitely watch people open it because I th I do like how that set looks.
SPEAKER_00Um and your role has kind of transitioned at the store. You've moved over to whatnot, and you've broke some of that in the past couple of days too.
SPEAKER_02True. We broke today Cactus Jack basketball hobby.
SPEAKER_00How do you like that?
SPEAKER_02Um I think the cards look really cool. It's it's the same or similar in a sense uh that it doesn't have an auto, guaranteed auto. It's similar to uh Cosmic. It's a little bit of a higher end box. We got what we got a lot of nice numbered cards though, even though it didn't have an auto. We got a Dylan Harper rookie that was numbered. Nice. Uh we got a Jalen Brunson numbered card. Um I think that it'll be higher value even if it's not low numbered because of how limited it is. So like the Dylan Harper Refractor rookies are like $120 to $150. That'll come down a little, but Yeah.
SPEAKER_00If if you were grading Cactus Jack right now on a scale of one to ten, where would you put it?
SPEAKER_02I'd put it at like a seven.
SPEAKER_00Seven? Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I think it's definitely five being average, definitely above average. Um, but it's not my favorite product that's come out.
SPEAKER_00Uh people in the shop, I believe some some either like it or they they don't like it at all. I mean they they really like it or hate it. Um we do have Inception basketball coming up. Yeah. First time it's licensed.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that'll be cool. I've always liked the design of Inception baseball, so I assume I like this as well. It's uh, you know, a lot of stuff that they've never done before, so it's just new, and I'll have to kind of see as it comes out. Yeah. Um, but I I like the designs for Inception.
SPEAKER_00I I will say the artwork that I've seen for the basketball, excuse me, has been really, really good. Um but uh it it drops uh sometime tomorrow, I believe. Uh tier one baseball coming out.
SPEAKER_02Tier one is one of those similar to Top Scrum Black where I really like it, but there's so few cards that it's like hard for me to be willing to spend like $400 for like three cards, you know?
SPEAKER_00Um Do you think that some of those kind of just run together like uh museum club or museum collection, the tier one, uh kind of feel like the same set?
SPEAKER_02Uh before they changed five star and it was just like two cards, uh I would say a hundred percent that like multiple felt like the same. Zim collection, tier one, five star, all those felt like the exact same. Like even the look of five star and tier one looked exactly alike. And one that they got rid of that I'm disappointed that they did, and I hope they bring it back at some point, and maybe they are, and maybe I'm just out of the loop, um, is um uh triple threads. That one, maybe you could say it felt like similar to those other products, but I would have rather them got rid of Tier 1 or 5 star and kept triple threads because I really I really liked uh triple threads.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_02Did did you like that product?
SPEAKER_00I do like triple threads, triple threads is really nice. Um there are a couple of non-sport uh items coming up.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, we have Disney Chrome came out, didn't just come out. Yes, yeah, that's that's nice.
SPEAKER_00And how do you like that?
SPEAKER_02Uh well, I'm not a huge Disney fan myself, uh, but the product itself is really nice. Um the Disney Chrome is probably the nicest set that they come out with for Disney, the the Topps Chrome. Anything that's got a Tops Chrome finish to it, people love it and it looks good.
SPEAKER_00So it seems like the last few releases that Topps has had, like the signature class, um uh uh NBA Hoobs and stuff like that, they've kind of gone more toward a paper release. Yeah. So I think that has kind of kept values kind of down.
SPEAKER_02I think so. People don't like paper.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I think that's that's kind of you know, everybody's complaining about prices being way, way up. Um that's one thing that has brought it down is those releases are paper products. True. And we um speaking of one last product, uh have Marvel Marvel coming out.
SPEAKER_02Yes, and that's a huge set. Um every year that that comes out, it's huge. Every year. Personally, I don't get into it because I don't, you know, I don't care for it that much. I go see the movies like the the new Spider-Man that's coming out. Yeah. Can we go see that?
SPEAKER_00That'd be good. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Um so uh I do see you know the big movies like that. I think it's cool to go see, but I haven't ever collected the cards. But as far as the set goes, that's might be about a 10 out of 10 as far as sets go. It's great every year. Everybody who does like Marvel uh like enough to buy the cards and stuff likes it, and it keeps its value and most of the time goes up if you just like hold a box and that's sealed. It usually goes up because people love that product. So it's a good one. And we'll be having all that in the shop.
SPEAKER_00We'll have all that in the shop. I'll say this about all those products. I I may not be uh the number one football fan. Yeah. Um I may not collect that as much. I may not collect uh Marvel, I may not collect Disney. Uh, but I encourage people to collect what they collect. Yeah. Uh don't let anybody just like bully you and bully you into not collecting what you enjoy. For sure. Um so uh soccer, you're not gonna see me uh rip some soccer, but I I don't want to pick on anybody that that's what they enjoy. Yeah. Uh because most of all that's that's what we're here for, to get enjoyment out of what we collect. And uh it's it's fun to do what we do. Collect what you like. Yeah, collect what you like. At the end of the day. Even if it is like funny names on on cards. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I know some people who just like collecting cards for the names, it's pretty funny. So but anyways, well, that's cool that we got all that coming out in the shop. I'm excited for that. Uh should they should they come check it out?
SPEAKER_00They should all come check it out. I'm gonna go. Uh come see us in the shop and uh we'll sell you whatever you'd like. You know, if it's Merlin soccer, if it's um pickleball cards like we mentioned last week. Yeah, uh we'll sell them to you.
SPEAKER_02We'll sell them to you. All right. Well, thank you all for tuning in. Uh you know, if you liked the new game that we played, let us know. We might do something like that again. Maybe we could do like average um ERA or something. Okay. Closest to, you know, two or something. Whatever. You know, we could do some some different things like that, or most strikeouts if we wanted to do a cumulative stats again. That'd be kind of fun.
SPEAKER_00I'll have to, you know, brush up and I'll have to go on baseball reference and just be studying.
SPEAKER_02Be studying for it. Well, thank y'all for tuning in today, and we'll see you all in the next one.
