SPEAKER_03

Welcome to the Crank It Up Sports Card Podcast with your host, Parker Johnson, and co-host Matthew Emerson.

SPEAKER_02

Who the heck is that? Thank y'all for coming back to our 12th episode of our Crank It Up Sports Card Podcast. I'm excited to get into it. We have a very special guest today. He's super special.

SPEAKER_04

True. You have the greatest of all time on this podcast. I'm just throwing out. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Just letting me known. Gabe. I'm not the guest.

SPEAKER_02

I'm the guest.

SPEAKER_04

It's me. It's me.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, man. So we got a lot to talk about today, though. Gonna talk about the Connor McGregor fight. Oh, wow. We're gonna talk about the White Sox because that is Gabe's favorite team, believe it or not. Let's go. We're gonna have game time, because we always have game time, right? Uh and then uh yeah, and we'll talk we'll talk about a little bit of everything. But why don't we get started with the McGregor fight? What did y'all think about that?

SPEAKER_04

I'll let I let Gabe answer that. I think I was glad I went to sleep after the patty fight. That's what I think. Fair enough. I think it was rigged. I think the fact that 90% of the bets were on Conor McGregor just says something. It says something rather than I don't know. Yeah. I don't know. I'm I'm not one to be controversial. Actually, I am one to be a little bit controversial. But it just it's a little sus when Vegas has 90% of the bets on Car McGregor and he just happens to blow his knee out by throwing a front kick that he's thrown a hundred times in the past 20 years.

SPEAKER_02

True. It it was weird, and I mean you saw we talked about it briefly, but there was some even like when he was getting ready for the match, it looked like his his leg was hurting, and it and then you said he did did you say he actually went somewhere?

SPEAKER_03

I I saw that uh there was somebody that said that he went into a pain management clinic uh before the fight, like two or three days before the fight. So yeah, that's crazy. I I I think I'm taking his side here. I think it was rigged.

SPEAKER_02

It might it might have been. It was it's definitely interesting.

SPEAKER_03

Or at least it wasn't, you know, up to par.

SPEAKER_02

Do you think that if do you think if he hurt himself and then still tried to play through it?

SPEAKER_04

Or do you think But like we've seen that before? I I don't know how much you know about UFC, but there's a guy named Cowboy. He dislocated his shoulder, didn't disclose it to any training camp, and then a lot of people had money on him, yeah, and like Veg like Vegas won a bunch of money because they didn't have him disclose that his shoulder was like dislocating all the time. Could be something like that. But I feel like when you have one of the most anticipated fights of like maybe the past five years, yeah, because he's coming back, and then it ends in a minute because he tore his ACL in 10 seconds. I think there's something about that.

SPEAKER_02

Maybe it definitely looks fishy. Yeah, it definitely looks fishy, and he made like 30 million or something like that. Yeah, something just insane.

SPEAKER_03

16. He made 16 mil, I think. It was 16? Yeah, he made a ton of money. I'll take either one of those. Either one? 16, 30. I think I'll take both of you on right now.

SPEAKER_04

Let's go. I think too though, like, I don't know if you'll know, like Patty, he was like another like kind of the same type of personality as McGregor, and he like submitted the dude in 30 seconds, and like maybe it was like a pass in the torch thing. I don't know. Maybe Dana White, you let me know. I don't know. I don't know about it though. It came a little sus to me.

SPEAKER_03

Well, speaking of that, do you think that uh going forward, do you think that Connor McGregor is gonna step in the ring again and have a like a title fight?

SPEAKER_04

I don't think he I I mean I seeing as like what happened, I doubt he'd come back and fight, but he did sign a two-fight contract. He's on a two-fight contract, so technically the UFC has a right to have him fight again in like a year or so.

SPEAKER_02

Interesting. He but this is the second time getting hurt. He broke his leg the last time. Yeah. I don't know, he's falling apart.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I don't know either.

SPEAKER_02

I would uh if I just made 16 million, I'm like, okay, I'm not getting back.

SPEAKER_04

I just don't I think everyone's so outraged that there's a slight chance because of the outrage, Dana's like, all right, Connor's fighting next year. Yeah, and then and then they're like to boost views again, but I don't know. Imagine he gets hurt again, that'd be pretty funny.

SPEAKER_02

That'd be crazy. That'd be crazy, but yeah, no, I don't know. I don't know how to feel about it. It it definitely did seem fishy, but uh you were upset about something that the White Sox did.

SPEAKER_04

Yes, I am upset about the White Sox. It was three days ago, and I'm still not over it. They traded one of our best prospects who got called up, Jacob Gonzalez. He plays right field, and they traded Acer, he's another guy, he's in our minor, he's in our farm system for a left-handed pitcher from the Pirates that is has a 4.5 ERA in the miners. We traded for this is great, right? And we also got the number 34 overall pick. You know what we got? A second and third baseman. You know what we don't need any more of? Infielders. We need no more infielders, right? So yeah, we traded for a pitcher that's never played in the MLB that has a 4.5 ERA.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that doesn't seem smart.

SPEAKER_04

And yeah, I'm I'm very upset. But you know what? Um it's not like the first time the White Sox have decided to dumpster fire organization over our farm system. So I mean, it's okay, true, I guess.

SPEAKER_03

I think the White Sox have uh have vastly improved over the last couple of years.

SPEAKER_04

We had a young guy come in and buy like I think it was like 50% or like something like right under controlling interest of like ownership. Yeah, and he's been doing like I think he's a big driving factor in why they're so good and why they're so young and so good. Yeah, but I hate when they make dumb trades. Yeah, like I hate that more than any. We need pitchers. I'm not saying like the pitching's pretty bad in Chicago, but a 4.58 ERA minor league pitcher's not gonna help us. I'm just saying, is it yeah.

SPEAKER_02

No, it doesn't seem like a good trade for sure.

SPEAKER_04

Maybe he's working on some stuff. You know, he better be better be throwing 105 and have the most undestructible elbow of all time if we're doing this right now. That's just me though.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that's true. What uh what do you think about the uh you you think there's gonna be any big moves during the trade deadline coming up?

SPEAKER_03

Oh, I I really am excited about the trade deadline, hoping that the Braves can pick up maybe a an arm or two. Their rotation looks really down right now and they've just been hit after injury after injury. Uh it would be huge if we could get Scuble, but I I that's I've been hearing a lot about Scoobyl leaving that'd be crazy. But right now I would I would take Sonny Gray.

SPEAKER_02

Uh that would be a good I mean a couple weeks ago they were best team in baseball, and then recently they've they've definitely been struggling.

SPEAKER_03

Injuries have hit them hard over the last few years. It's coming back again this year.

SPEAKER_02

Seems like every year somebody somebody big gets hurt.

SPEAKER_03

A few people. I think if they get hot at the right time, get everybody healthy, then they make they can make a good run. Yeah. Uh but they definitely need some some arms in the rotation right now. For sure, for sure. It's Chris Sell and then pray for four days of rain. Yeah. That's fair.

SPEAKER_02

True. That's true. Do you think Chris Cell has a shot at the uh Cy Young? Do you think he'll win, or do you think there's too much other talent right now?

SPEAKER_03

I think he has a shot. Yeah. Uh, but uh honestly, I'm not a uh obviously I'm a Atlanta Braves fan. Yep. But I think uh Zach Wheeler is probably the best in the NL right now.

SPEAKER_02

There's so much talent right now. I think most other years he'd be like he'd almost be for sure a Cy Young winner if he uh if he continues the year out. But there's so many good pitchers right now. It's kind of crazy. There's a lot. And a lot of young guys like Ms. Rowski and uh Cam Schlittler. Is he is he still in the front running? He's they're very, very I think they're either in the front running or they're like behind one guy or something.

SPEAKER_03

Last time I checked the odds, both of them were leading in the both leading. Yeah, one in the one. Ms.

SPEAKER_04

He had a little he had a little struggle bus game recently. He kind of had a little bit of a but I mean I think that's bound to happen for everybody. You know, you know what's crazy? The Red Sox. Have y'all seen what they've been doing? They're on a generational run. It's insane. Like I that I don't understand. I don't I can't remember how many games they've won in a row. But I remember like yeah, I remember last week I was like, dude, the Red Sox might be the worst team in the and now they're like they're horrible, but not any they're on a crazy run right now. They swept the White Sox, made me made my stomach churn a little bit. They just swept the Mets too, I think.

SPEAKER_03

They were talking about uh Red Sox being sellers at the deadline, and that's um you know, it's it's turned around. They're probably picking up people at this hour.

SPEAKER_02

It says they've won nine games in a row. Nine in a row. Crazy.

SPEAKER_04

Insane.

SPEAKER_02

Heading into the all-star break, yeah. Their ninth win came against the the Mets.

SPEAKER_04

I mean, sweeping the Mets is anything crazy, but they did sweep the White Sox, and I was pretty mad about it.

SPEAKER_03

I wear white socks, not red socks. Mine's a lot. You know what would be crazy if if uh Jordon got moved?

SPEAKER_02

I know. Well, okay, let's talk about that for a minute because I think Yordon for the past several years has been super undervalued. Like card market wise.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, one of the best hitters, and he's just yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, he came up with that team. He was yeah, he came up in 2020, I believe. Uh maybe late 2019, but 2020. And uh and I think he just gets associated with that. I feel like that's why he's so low. Do you think that if he does get traded? Even if it's not to a big team, because like I don't think it could personally I don't think it could be to a team who has a huge market. And I think his cards still probably go up because he's not associated with them anymore. Do y'all think that does anything to his card market?

SPEAKER_03

I think it can help. Um Houston uh it doesn't seem like many people collect Astros. Maybe I'm wrong, but uh any anytime I have some Astro cards to sell, yeah, uh it's hard to sell on eBay.

SPEAKER_04

I feel like everyone hates the Astros.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I think they're a very hated team. They are it's not just somebody you um casually start collecting uh you know the Astros. Yeah. But I I think if he goes to the Yankees, goes to the Dodgers, yeah, if he's Cubs, something like that, then I I can see those prices going up.

SPEAKER_02

If he went to the Yankees or Dodgers, I think that overnight his value two to three X's.

SPEAKER_04

I think I'd stop watching baseball if he went to the Yankees or Dodgers. Yeah, I would. I'd be kind of done. I'd be done with it. You know, you know what I'm hyped for? I hope the Mets do a lot of selling. I think there's a lot of players on the Mets that aren't bad. Yeah. They're just on the Mets. They're metting. Yeah, they're on like I I think it's if they get traded and go somewhere else, it's just we're just gonna see like Lynn Dorbro, save them. Save that man, Rogan.

SPEAKER_02

Think about Soto who signed that 15-year contract with the Mets. Yeah, that's crazy. Does he have a trade? Does he have a no trade?

SPEAKER_03

I think he has a no trade clause. Does he? So they're talking about Bichette. Bachette just got signed a couple of months ago, and they're talking about possibly being traded. They're just gonna burn it down.

SPEAKER_04

I mean, they have I feel like they're gonna be able to do it. I think you have to. You commit how many airs was it in that game?

SPEAKER_02

It's been bad. Too many to count.

SPEAKER_04

It was it was crazy. Like I've I think there's just there's something wrong with that that locker room. Yeah, oh yeah.

SPEAKER_02

There's something wrong there that's making these guys just do you think I've heard that Soto and uh Lindor might be beefing.

SPEAKER_04

Do you think that could I I could definitely see Soto and Lindor beefing a hundred percent.

SPEAKER_02

I feel like I feel like that's the you know, the the saying too many cook uh cooks in a kitchen, you know? Because it's like if you got too many people trying to be in charge or be the leader, then you can just clash a lot of times. I almost feel like that you know a lot of teams that do really well, a lot of times they don't have every single big star, you know? Yeah now people like the Dodgers or Yankees, that might be a little different, but there's plenty of other teams that don't have all the big stars like those teams and do really well. Um, I feel like the White Sox is one of them because there I don't think anybody on the White Sox is a huge name like O'Donnell or Judge and some of the others that that those teams have, but they're clicking and they're doing well this year.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I think it's I think it's also like there's a they're a bunch of young guys. They're all young. True. It's I think it's a lot different right now with like young teams and how well young teams are doing. I will say this a big thing that's different with like the Yankees and the Dodgers is when you have a there's a difference between being really, really good at baseball and being a generational like goat of baseball. Like Aaron Judge and Otani, like you could be a dog and go to the Dodgers, but you're not Otani. Yeah, you can't, you can't you cannot get anywhere near him. Same with Aaron Judge, like you're gonna go to the Yankees. You you could have been like if Jordan went to the Yankees, I think Aaron Judge, it's they're not gonna he's gonna be like, okay, this is Aaron Judge.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, no, that's true. Um what if what about what if we go to game time? Y'all wanna go to game time? I want to play a game. I'm down. Let's go to game time. I'm gonna suck. It's okay. All right, we're going to game time. We should be in game time now. We do this little thing, it's pretty fun. Little graphic that goes to game time. It's pretty cool. We're like, we're super like super official here. Dude, I probably just saw it. Yeah, they probably saw it. Did y'all see it?

unknown

No.

SPEAKER_02

I think they saw it. All right, we're gonna play age golf again. I didn't get to play last time. I feel left out. Nobody even asked me to play. So this time, what we're gonna do is y'all two go first and I play winner.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. Okay. Uh you're playing Parker, by the way. I'm gonna lose.

SPEAKER_02

So just keep up with it on your phones. Okay. Uh how it works. Uh I explained it to them last time, but uh how it works is I'm gonna give you a player. It can be across any sport. Um, should be well known enough for people to know uh who they are, hopefully. Um and you know, you guess their age. Let's say you say 35 and they're 30. Well, then you we're off by five, so you get five points. Lowest points wins. Okay. And it's only it's only five people. So let's see. Give me five professional athletes.

SPEAKER_03

Making that chat GBT work again. I am the premium's going into overdrive with Parker, right?

SPEAKER_04

Parker and George, right?

SPEAKER_02

I know. All right, all right, all right, all right. Ooh. I think a couple of these we did last time, but so I'm gonna say give me ten, then five more to pick from. Okay, and I'll pick from because some of them I remember we definitely did not do it. Okay. Alright. We did Patrick Mahomes last night last time, so we're not gonna do him again. Did we do LeBron James last time? I think we did.

SPEAKER_03

We did.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. Uh Mike Trout.

SPEAKER_03

Mike Trout. Are you going to count down and then we'll say Yeah, yeah, y'all say it at the same time.

SPEAKER_02

So let me know when you are ready. Y'all ready? I guess. I got a guess. Three, two, one.

SPEAKER_03

34.

SPEAKER_02

36? 34? You got it on the dot. This guy is so good at this freaking game. I hate to. I don't think we did Curry last time either. So I'm gonna do Curry. Y'all ready?

SPEAKER_03

Beat me on this one. I don't know, bro.

SPEAKER_02

Three, two, one.

SPEAKER_03

Thirty-five.

SPEAKER_02

Thirty-eight on the dot? I don't want to play him.

SPEAKER_03

I this actually might be a good one. I don't want to play him.

SPEAKER_02

You told him beforehand. It's just random.

SPEAKER_03

I've been staying up at night, just like what's what's Steph Curry's age? Dude, Steph Curry's 38. 38. That's crazy.

SPEAKER_02

That's old, bro. That's crazy. Uh, this is a good one. Caitlin Clark. Y'all ready? Three, two, one, two, three.

SPEAKER_04

2024.

SPEAKER_02

Y'all both got it. Let's go. Y'all both got it.

SPEAKER_01

You're three for three. This is a good thing.

SPEAKER_02

This guy's a dog. You're gonna have to really like if you mess up, you can't mess up. You can't have three for three and lose. All right, Mookie bets.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, I have no idea.

SPEAKER_02

You ready?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I guess.

SPEAKER_02

Three, two, one, two.

SPEAKER_04

Is he 33? Mookie's old, man.

SPEAKER_02

Four for four is insane. No way. Okay.

SPEAKER_04

Let's just chalk it up. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

What how many points do you have?

SPEAKER_04

Uh ten. Yeah, that's not good.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I don't think there's any shot you come back because he can't be off 10 years. On this last one, bro, give him some out-of-pocket one. There's no way. There's no way. Luca.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

You ready? Yeah. Three, two, one.

SPEAKER_03

29.

SPEAKER_02

You trying to lose as bad as possible. I am now. Okay. What did you say?

SPEAKER_03

29.

SPEAKER_02

He's uh 27. Yeah. 27. So you scored two.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know what you got, but you won't be able to do it. Oh, we're giving a good. Congrats. Congrats. All right. You pull it, you pull up five five people for us.

SPEAKER_03

I'm I'm pulling up obscure names. I think Parker's ready for this because he just wants to beat somebody. I think I hope so.

SPEAKER_02

Uh during the thousand home runs, I got within two. I got 998.

SPEAKER_04

That's crazy. It's how he makes up for his height. It's by beating people in game time.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I got I gotta win. I come I come prepared to game time. All right.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, okay, okay. Let me let me get some obscure names.

SPEAKER_02

And I'm not looking anything up. I'm just on my calculator. Okay, if you say so. I'm just on my calculator. I'm ready to add it up. I'm probably gonna lose really bad at this. I think I'm better at the stat one.

SPEAKER_04

How many people you want me to do? Ten?

SPEAKER_02

No, just five.

SPEAKER_04

Five, five.

SPEAKER_02

Five people. Preferably people we didn't do. Don't give us the same five, please.

SPEAKER_04

I couldn't even remember. Yeah, but you're so good it doesn't matter.

SPEAKER_02

True, true. He's good. He's good. We can just say he's like double our age, so that's probably why he knows.

SPEAKER_03

Because he's old? You're right, bro. Am I y'all's age put together? Bro, I got this. All right.

SPEAKER_02

I think we're actually older put together. Oh, okay. I don't know how.

SPEAKER_04

What are we?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. You're how old are you?

SPEAKER_04

44. Dang. That's I was gonna say.

SPEAKER_03

This is y'all.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, okay. Does that count? I'm 44. That's what right on the money. That's good. All right. How old's butter bean? The box is.

SPEAKER_02

Oh man, you went you went really different with this. Okay. Okay, I've got to guess. You can't you give us the countdown.

SPEAKER_04

Three, two, one, fifty-five. I have no idea. He's 60.

SPEAKER_02

What? Oh my goodness. He's way older than I thought he was. I was off by 12. I don't know if I can even come back after that. I don't know. These might be tough. I feel like you went difficult with this.

SPEAKER_04

How old is Joey Chestnut?

SPEAKER_02

Oh my goodness. You went really obscure.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

You took sports and were like, okay, we're gonna stretch the term for sports. Bro, talk about.

SPEAKER_04

If you can eat 30 hot dogs in one minute, you win. You're a sport.

SPEAKER_02

I guess so. I guess so. Uh man, okay. I have no idea.

SPEAKER_03

Let me know when y'all locked in. I think I got an answer.

SPEAKER_02

I'm ready.

SPEAKER_03

I have no clue, but I have an answer. Three, two, one, forty-three.

SPEAKER_04

This guy's a freaking dog. He's a dog.

SPEAKER_02

How what do you have? Six. I'm at 16. I'm 10 more than you. That's crazy.

SPEAKER_04

Alright. How old's Eddie Hall, the power lifter?

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yeah. Okay. Um I feel more confident in this than Butterman stuff. I don't I might be so far off. I might be feeling I have a very false sense of confidence.

SPEAKER_04

False sense of confidence. Alright. You already? Three, two, one. Forty-one. 38. What? He's he's yeah, I didn't expect that.

SPEAKER_02

I thought he was like early 40s. Uh you said 38?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Dang.

SPEAKER_04

How many is that? Three?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Three's not bad, but you still maybe that's crazy. Alright. Or no, that was that was four get four. I think this is our last one, right?

SPEAKER_04

Is this the last one? I have three numbers.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, well then maybe it was just three.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah, three three three. How old is Michael Phelps?

SPEAKER_02

Alright, I have a guess.

SPEAKER_04

You ready? Three, two, one. Forty five. Wow. 41 on the dot. Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_02

Matthew, you're not allowed to play this game anymore.

SPEAKER_04

You should go play the logo or something.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, you don't need to play this game anymore.

SPEAKER_04

Alright. Last one.

SPEAKER_02

I'm at 23. I can't play.

SPEAKER_04

Oh no, no, no.

SPEAKER_02

What are you at? Six still?

SPEAKER_04

Eight.

SPEAKER_02

You're at eight? You gotta be off by like freaking 15. I gotta get it right on the dot.

SPEAKER_04

There's a chance. I believe in you. Okay. How was Livy done?

unknown

Oh.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, there's no way he's gonna be off 15 though. Even if I'm like close or right on it. I think I'm not gonna say that because I think I don't know. Alright.

SPEAKER_04

You ready? Three, two, one. What the heck? This guy's insane at this game. It's actually really.

SPEAKER_03

How did I let Brayton beat me? Brayden beat you?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that's crazy. You were locked in. I got 24. Man. Both of our numbers combined are like almost as old as he is. That's crazy.

SPEAKER_03

That is insane. Y'all just did that to make me feel good, right? I'm horse and y'all like uh head picked up.

SPEAKER_02

Let's let the old guy win one. I mean, he hasn't won anything in a while.

SPEAKER_03

What do y'all think about uh what do y'all think about the home run derby and the all-star game coming up?

SPEAKER_02

I'm excited. Should we do home run derby predictions?

SPEAKER_03

Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Should we predict it?

SPEAKER_03

I know he's he's predicting. Yeah, we do. Murakami.

SPEAKER_02

Mirakami. I mean, I I there's a I I don't think that's a bad pick.

SPEAKER_04

Even though you are every single ball is gonna be a home run.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, well then that is a bad take.

SPEAKER_04

550 longest home run.

SPEAKER_02

That's a bad take. It's a bad take.

SPEAKER_04

He's a lefty, right?

SPEAKER_03

Yes.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Yes.

SPEAKER_02

He's he doesn't even know his own.

SPEAKER_03

My brain, my brain. I think the lefty bat plays well in in Philadelphia.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

It would play really well. I think Schwarber.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. I agree, but I'm gonna, for the sake of being different and because I believe I'm gonna say Harper. And the reason why is because he won in twenty eighteen. He beat Schwarber. And he's just he's played the longest. So I don't I definitely don't think he's as powerful as someone like Marikami or Schwarber. But I think that some I think sometimes maybe this is stupid, but I do think that sometimes experience like

SPEAKER_03

That's gonna help.

SPEAKER_02

Will help over just raw power. Which I think Miracami has raw power. I don't think he has as much experience. Uh Schwarber has a little bit of both, I'd say. He's definitely raw power and has experience.

SPEAKER_04

It didn't help McGregor.

SPEAKER_02

It did not help McGregor, but I believe that if Harper like throws his back out on the first swing, that'd be really funny. I mean, not really.

SPEAKER_03

Harper's playing really well right now.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I think Harper's got a shot. What do you think about some of the young guys like Jack Caglione? That was interesting because I've heard people. Yeah, Junior Cabanero could win. He actually might win. That's probably the the best pick. But um I heard people talking about being in the home run derby and not on the all-star team. Like Jack Caglione. Do you feel like that's weird?

SPEAKER_04

No, I mean, I don't think so. Like you I feel like it it makes it better that way, having different people on both. That's fair. I mean, not entirely different, because I mean like a lot of power hitters are gonna be on the all-star team. But I like like I like that it's there's some people that aren't on the all-star team because you want to watch them hit bombs. Like why would you?

SPEAKER_02

That's true. I've heard two different things because I've heard like, you know, you're going there, it's the all-star game event, and leading up to it, people feel like it should be the all-star people. I've heard two, I've heard two different things. Some people seem to not care, some people seem to do. What do you what do you think?

SPEAKER_03

Camanero had a little bit of experience for last year. He was in Atlanta and did well. Yeah. Um if I had like uh a head and a heart pick, I would say Camanero is my other pick.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, for the home run derby.

SPEAKER_03

Absolutely. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I think I think Camanero will win it all, but I'm going with Harper. That that's the yeah, that's what you say.

SPEAKER_03

Backup pick? No. He's gonna come in first place and second place, right? Exactly. He's actually gonna take he's gonna wipe the board. The whole board's gonna be murdered.

SPEAKER_02

Not even possible. He's gonna do the impossible. We only have one trophy, but here you go. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

See the thing your voice is hoarse. It's really bad. Here's the trophy.

SPEAKER_04

The only reason I refuse to say Camonero is because one of my buddies is a diehard raise fan, and I am tired of hearing about Camonero. I'm tired of it. Fair enough. He's a dog, but I'm just like I Fair enough. I'm good. Yeah, he is. So Camonero's winning it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Camonero's winning it. He's got it all.

SPEAKER_04

He's aging progressively more. The more he talks, he just ages more.

SPEAKER_02

But it is true. That is, it's not that your horse has just usually gotten old. Older.

SPEAKER_04

One thing about the all-star game, the turnover this year. Everyone has been in the all-star game and then been injured and out of the all-star game.

SPEAKER_02

And it's like Trout was uh just is got back just in time for the all-star game. I thought he might miss it.

SPEAKER_04

I mean, Murray Calmie just got back right in time, too.

SPEAKER_02

And then Kurtz was the backup for um Vlad, and now he's hurt. He's gonna miss it. Yeah. Uh is it Rice?

SPEAKER_04

I think so. If I'm not mistaken.

SPEAKER_02

Hey, I'm excited.

SPEAKER_04

The banana man made it to the All-Star team.

SPEAKER_02

I'm I'm excited though. I'm excited.

SPEAKER_04

I think it's you know what Tristan Peters played Savannah Bananas baseball two years ago? Went on the White Sox, he's batting like 300, and now he's on the all-star based.

SPEAKER_02

No, I did not know that.

SPEAKER_03

He's made it. Is he the guy that uh did y'all have somebody hit for the cycle?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, that was Tristan Peters. Yeah, two nights ago. Hit for the cycle against the A's. I did not realize that. Played Savannah Banana baseball two years ago. Now he's in the all-star game. That's wild. It's kind of hype.

SPEAKER_03

The Braves had a had a pitcher that had played for Savannah Bananas. That's really cool. Gives me hope. Yeah. Yeah. Dude, I might be in the league next year. There was somebody calling you um, you know, over at the shop, and they was wanting to know if you were ready to come up to the big leagues.

SPEAKER_04

See, like I've I know I've got the experience, I know I'm that guy deep down, but my passion's cards. Like, I fair enough. I I just I was like, man, 30 million for four years. Like this guy's loyal. I'd rather stay at Crane here.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Choices, you know? Yeah. We we all could have, you know, done went pro, you know.

SPEAKER_04

I could have chose to do that. Yeah. Yeah. Like imagine, imagine like going in going pro and I could just go sit in a room and scream my head off for two and a half hours.

SPEAKER_02

Well, I do think it would have probably been easier to go pro back in like the 40s when when you were growing up. True. So I feel like it would have been harder for us to go pro. It's like farmers and farmers, people went to the war and then came right back and we're fine, you know.

SPEAKER_04

Cars weren't invented yet. Like you could run a 740 and like you were you were the fastest man alive.

SPEAKER_03

Look how fast he is.

SPEAKER_02

He's still jankies. Look at old Matthew, you go. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. No. Yeah, way way easier. Why didn't you go pro? Choices. Choices. Choices. He chose cranks over now.

SPEAKER_03

I wanted to be here with y'all.

SPEAKER_02

I appreciate that. We uh enjoy you being here.

SPEAKER_03

I look down through the eons of time to where y'all would be here. The eons of time.

SPEAKER_04

He's like, man, when I'm when I'm 150, I'm gonna be sitting down with two 20-year-olds.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I know it's a hundred years away from them being born, but I want to. I like those guys.

SPEAKER_03

I think they'll probably name him Parker.

SPEAKER_02

That's great.

SPEAKER_03

That's the only thing I was fuzzy on.

SPEAKER_02

What's this stuff right here?

SPEAKER_03

Uh we have some products in shop. Uh this one was just released, Tops Chrome Black Football.

SPEAKER_02

It's nice.

SPEAKER_03

And uh seen a couple of good things come out of there.

SPEAKER_02

Tier one baseball? Tier one.

SPEAKER_03

Always uh kind of like tier one.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

And uh Inception, I like Inception as well. That was released a couple of weeks back.

SPEAKER_02

Yep.

SPEAKER_03

Um, but uh that's the 25 rookie class, so you're looking for Nick Kurtz. That's nice. Uh this is the 26 rookie class. Um, and this is probably one of the last 25 products of of football before they come out with the new one. I saw that they were announcing that uh flagship football's about to release. Oh, really? That's really nice. I'm so hyped.

SPEAKER_02

That's nice. But yeah, we got a lot of cool stuff in the shop right now. Uh so definitely swing by the shop, come check it out. Um but I think that was it. I think that's all the time we had.

SPEAKER_03

We've had a great guest today.

SPEAKER_02

Great guest, and some some crazy things have happened. Great guest, way better than last podcast guest. Braden, if you can hear me back there. Uh, and then um crazy that you went like eight for ten dot for all of those people. That was crazy.

SPEAKER_04

I genuinely think he might have cheated, but that's just that might that might be on the same level as a McGregor fight, I'm not gonna lie. Everyone, if if I was betting, I'd have my money on me just because how great I am, and I think he was cheating.

SPEAKER_02

It had to have been. There's no way he wasn't. No, no way he wasn't. Well, guys, thank y'all for tuning in today for our 12th episode. Uh, we we really appreciate it. You know, comment, like, subscribe, swing by the shop. We got a lot of cool product in the shop. Uh, thank you to Gabe for being here. Thank you uh to Matthew for you know carrying in that game. That was kind of insane. So we'll see y'all in the next one.
