Devotional
This week has challenged you to loosen your grip on the things you've tried to control. Whether it's deadlines, relationships, finances, career advancement, or the results of your work, surrender is rarely a one-time decision. It is a daily posture of the heart.
As you look back over the week, where did you experience peace because you trusted God? Where did anxiety reveal that you were still trying to carry burdens He never intended you to bear?
God is not asking you to stop planning or working diligently. He is inviting you to stop believing that everything depends on you. Faithful stewardship means giving Him your best effort while trusting Him with every outcome.
Every season presents another opportunity to place your plans into God's hands. His wisdom is always greater than yours, His timing is always perfect, and His purposes are always good—even when you cannot yet understand them.
Today is a chance to pause, reflect, and once again open your hands to the Lord.
Reflection Questions
- What situation was most difficult for me to surrender this week?
- When did I experience God's peace as I trusted Him?
- What burdens am I still carrying that belong to Him?
- How is God teaching me to depend on Him more fully?
Action Step
Write down one area of your life where you're struggling to surrender control. Pray over it, then symbolically place that paper inside your Bible as a reminder that you've entrusted it to God.
Prayer
Father, thank You for patiently teaching me to trust You. Forgive me for the times I cling to control instead of depending on You. Help me continue growing in faith, surrendering every concern into Your capable hands. Fill my heart with the peace that comes from knowing You are always in control. Amen.
