Tempted to Quit Too Soon

Scripture:
Galatians 6:9 — “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”

Devotional:
There are times when walking away is the right decision—but there are also times when we’re tempted to quit too soon. Extended difficulty, slow progress, and lack of visible fruit can wear us down. We wonder if continuing to “do good” is worth it.

Galatians 6:9 encourages you to see beyond the present moment: “in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” God often works on a different timetable than you do. Seeds of faithfulness planted today may not bear visible fruit for months or years. Some of the good you do, you may never see on this side of eternity.

Perseverance doesn’t mean you never change jobs or roles. It means you don’t abandon obedience or faith because results are slow. You stay rooted in Christ, continue to honor Him, and let Him determine the harvest and the timing.

Where are you growing weary of “doing good” in your work?
How can you discern whether God is calling you to persevere or to move on in a wise, prayerful way?
What helps you keep an eternal perspective when you see little immediate fruit?

Prayer:
Lord, I confess I grow weary when I don’t see quick results. Strengthen my heart to keep doing good. Show me when to stay, when to move, and how to trust You with the timing of the harvest. Amen.
