Preparing Your Heart Before Your Hands

Before tomorrow's emails are opened...
Before the meetings begin...
Before decisions must be made...
Before challenges arise...
Prepare your heart.
One of the greatest gifts you can give yourself each week is beginning it spiritually before beginning it professionally. Too often we prepare our schedules, organize our priorities, and review our responsibilities while neglecting the condition of our hearts.
God desires something different.
He invites you to place the coming week into His hands before you ever step into it. Every conversation, every project, every opportunity, every unexpected interruption is already known by Him. Nothing you'll encounter tomorrow will surprise your heavenly Father.
When you begin your week in prayer, you acknowledge that you need His wisdom more than your own experience, His strength more than your own determination, and His guidance more than your own planning.
This doesn't diminish the importance of preparation—it transforms it. Your planning becomes an act of stewardship instead of self-reliance. Your confidence rests not in a perfectly organized calendar but in God's faithful presence.
As this day of rest comes to a close, entrust the entire week to the Lord. Ask Him to make you attentive to opportunities to serve, quick to listen, slow to speak, courageous in truth, generous in love, and faithful in every assignment He places before you.
Walk into tomorrow with peace, knowing that the God who has gone before you will also walk beside you.

Action Step
Spend ten minutes praying specifically through your upcoming week. Pray for each major responsibility, meeting, decision, and relationship on your calendar, asking God to use every circumstance for His glory and your spiritual growth.
Prayer
Father, I commit this entire week to You before it begins. Direct my steps, guard my heart, and fill me with Your wisdom. Help me serve others with humility, make decisions with discernment, and respond to every circumstance in a way that honors Christ. Thank You for going before me and for promising never to leave me. May this coming week become another opportunity to worship You through my work and my daily life. Amen.
