Good morning, friends. I thought today I would share a reading from Mark chapter 6. Just a few three verses. It says this. The apostles gathered around Jesus and told them all that they had done and taught. He said to them, Come away to a deserted place all by yourselves and rest a while. For many were coming and going, and they had no leisure even to eat. And they went away in the boat to a deserted place by themselves. I am sitting in a very beautiful space in Birchville today. And looking out at the lake, and I'll show you that view in a minute. But as I'm sitting here, I can hear the rush of traffic behind me. And you have to listen harder to hear the lake and the birds and everything. And it got me thinking how so often in our lives we just keep rushing from one thing to the next thing, and we don't slow down enough to actually see what God is up to or hear the beauty that God's provided. So I thought it might be fun for you to pause for a minute and see what I see. So I'll take you on this morning's walk to the lake with me. Let's go. So as I said, you can hear the rush of traffic behind us. Like that truck. But the view is magnificent. And if you listen, the birds are singing. That you might take a break from the traffic, from the noise of whatever it is in your world. Maybe it's kids or our spouse or co-workers or whatever is the noise inside our heads, sometimes that's louder than other places. But where is it that you could take a little break? And get away from the noise. Kind of like the disciples did. Super busy and doing all the things Jesus wanted them to do. And he reminded them and he reminds us that sometimes we just need to get away, to take a break, to breathe. So I wonder, friends, where might it be today that you can find a space to calm your spirit to be reminded that God is still God in the midst of all the noise. And where you can breathe a little deeper. Where you might be able to hear. God a little clearer. But that's our reminder for today. Get away to a place. Even if it's just shutting yourself in the bathroom and having a break from your kiddos. But where can you get away to a place where you can find peace and calm in the midst of all your feet paddling like these little ducks underneath the water? And you know they're paddling so furiously to keep going in the world. But where's the place that you can just glide? Keep talking, friends. Have a great day.
