What's the point of doomscrolling all day? Let's watch anime together instead. We're starting an anime book club(which is chill) and you're invited! Here's how it's going to go: two anime at a time, with two episodes each per week. To make our picks, we go through the top anime of spring 2026, skipping multi-season continuations so that anyone can jump in without extra backstory homework. From there, we read through the summaries of each anime and get into what makes a show worth the time: strong premises, clean animation, and stories that don’t rely on cheap drama.

Our draft turns into a real decision as we compare a post-collapse Japan military drama, Nippon Sangoku, with the visually stunning magic mystery of Witch Hat Atelier. Along the way we detour into romance, rom-coms, Boys Love comedy, and why some genres land differently depending on tone and tropes.

Late Drop And Anime Book Club

SPEAKER_00

Welcome back to this week's episode of Catch Up with Kai and Cohen. Real quick, sorry that we're a little bit late on this one. We actually Cohen went on vacation for a little bit. So this episode got delayed. But we are back and we are starting an anime club. Watch along, something like basically like a book club.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, basically like a book club. But the reason why we decided on is because we both love anime.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

We thought it'd be, I mean, like one big for me, like a personal reason for me, is that recent years, I actually haven't watched too many anime. Like I've probably watched like one anime, well, actually a couple anime per year, if I'm being honest. Like I've number one, I have no time and I feel like I just haven't had too much interest in something new or series. I've heard about these theories series, but I haven't got the time to like really being entrenched and enthralled in these in these theories. So I wanted to get take this chance to do that.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, same here. I I go through like a lot of phases in anime. I don't know about you, but I'll have like a phase where where I'll watch, I'll be really into anime and I'll watch like a bunch of series at the same time. And then I'll go like months, or actually at this point, maybe it's even been like a maybe even like a year. I don't know when was the last time that I watched an anime.

SPEAKER_02

Like the last one I watched was Fraver in Season 2, and before that was Orb.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. I I mean I the most recent thing that actually the most recent thing we watched was uh 100 meter movie, but that's a movie.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and like I'm kind of like regretful, or I'm not not regretful, I'm like disheartened. Not even FOMO, I'm like disheartened because this was something I was like so into in high school and even early university, right? But then now I just feel like I'm so busy with life that I haven't really had. And then like I'm thinking, am I really busy with life?

SPEAKER_00

Maybe it's because you're scrolling all the time.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Like, I'd so I'd rather spend time to actually watch something rather than five second fucking clips on Instagram reels.

SPEAKER_00

Dude, that's actually so facts because you don't like on a browser, you have like a bunch of bookmarks, right? Yeah. Yeah. I used to have like a bunch of social media things bookmarked, even like YouTube, but I removed all those bookmarks. And now I only go to YouTube if like I know that there's something that I want to watch, not to like browse and like see what like kill time. Ever since doing that, I have like I I notice I do have way more free time.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, so I just want like to lit up my fire for my interest for anime again.

How The Watch-Along Works

SPEAKER_02

So what we decided to do is we're gonna choose two series and then watch two episodes per series each week and just talk about it and review it. And then we decided to choose starting with the spring season instead of the summer season. And the reason for that is being the summer like we want to start like a recently completed series rather than starting fresh. Yeah. Then of how it goes.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and one of the reasons for that is because giving like a season or yeah, a season of buffer kind of just helps so that we know what we are getting into is actually good. Yeah. Rather than starting a new anime with the new season and kind of just like banking on it being but good. And it would you know, we just want to avoid a situation where we're like six episodes deep into an anime and then find out that it actually sucks to us.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. And so we another criteria we also set out is that we're gonna cut off. So we we're gonna go base it off on like my anime list, and then the cutoff for where we're gonna stop reviewing or stop considering anime is like 7.5, score 7.5. Anything below that, we're not gonna even consider it. Yeah. Otherwise, during this episode, we're gonna go through which one we might consider, or we're gonna choose actually the two series that we're gonna stick with for the next should be three months.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and this is uh this is something that I wanna do for quite a while. So if you've got a favorite anime, so first of all, if you're listening to this, you have to watch along with us, uh non-negotiable. So if you have a favorite anime in the future that you want us to watch and it's below 7.5, please suggest it because we're not gonna consider it if it's below 7.5 ourselves. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

MyAnimeList Draft Rules And Filters

SPEAKER_02

So we're we're going we're on my anime list right now, spring 2026, sort it by score, highest to lowest. We're gonna go through probably yeah, we're gonna go through them to see if it piques our interest. And then unfortunately, we're gonna pick out we're gonna exclude like multiple season ghosts.

SPEAKER_00

Kind of have to.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Like for example, right now, the first one is ReZero, the fourth season. And I know ReZero is amazing, but I I've only watched two seasons of it.

SPEAKER_00

Me too. I've seen two seasons, haven't seen the third or fourth season.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, so that's that's number one. That's a 9.818 rating, but I just thought it was okay.

SPEAKER_00

I didn't really think that was that amazing. Oh, actually, I thought it was really good. I think I just I I just like dislike love stories.

SPEAKER_02

Well, also, to be fair, um, I mean, I I I thought the first season was really good, every zero, but I heard like the more recent seasons were like amazing, is what I heard.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

But I but then I remember watching this, I think the first season came out 10 years ago.

SPEAKER_00

It's been quite a while. Yeah, actually, I think you're right. You were in high school, I'm pretty sure. No, I was in university. Okay, university.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, but it was so impactful. There was that scene, episode 12 or something, with uh where Subaru gets his head chopped off by that cat. I remember fuck, anyways. But yeah, that one's crossed out.

SPEAKER_00

Dude, I hate I hate pitiful main characters like Subaru. I mean, you dude, he his life is horrible. Yeah, I guess.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know, man. Okay. Next one is number two with the 8.56 rating. It's called Nippo Nippon Sangoku, the Three Nations of the Crimson Sun. Do you know have you heard about this?

SPEAKER_00

No, I haven't, but that sounds interesting.

SPEAKER_02

I heard about it. I heard it's really good. I'll I'll I'll read the uh synopsis.

Nippon Sangoku Grabs Our Attention

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. The pinnacle of modern civilization known as Japan is now long forgotten. Ravaged by civil war and technological collapse, Japan has regressed into a post-Majing era society and now divided into three imperial territories, known as Yamato, Buo, and Sei. However, Ao Teru Misumi, a 15-year-old literature enthusiast, dreams to bring back the culture and technology that once made pride of his country. Although unwilling to turn his theoretical knowledge into concrete action, at first, a tragic turn of events tries Aoteru to head to Osaka in hopes of enlisting in the army and eventually uniting the country under his own banner. Osaka, once one of the three jewels of Kansai, has become a crime-ridden city where Ao Teru almost loses his life. Luckily, he counters a fellow ambitious young man named Yoshitsune Asama, who pursues the same dream. With Auteru's strategic prowess and Yoshit Yoshitune's masks their full sword swordmanship, the two now embark on a journey to restore the formal glory of Japan.

SPEAKER_00

Sounds interesting.

SPEAKER_02

The genre is drama. Theme military. Sounds very interesting, if I'm being honest.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_02

The art looks crisp. Yeah, it looks great.

SPEAKER_00

Do you like these type of type of thing? I do. I actually love historical and oh dude, the art looks amazing. Yeah, it does. I'm a big fan of historical stuff. And even military theme, I like it.

SPEAKER_02

So this one's right up on your alley then. Yeah, it is. Because it's based off I'm trying to see if it was like a like a brand new standalone anime series where it's based off of something, but I see it's based off a uh the manga.

SPEAKER_00

When did this come out? There's a new manga as well. 2021. Yeah. And it's ongoing.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. And this one has how many episodes? 12. So it's finished. Yeah. And it has an 8.56 rating.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, it's a good consideration, that's for sure.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. I think it's pretty. I mean, I can't really say much because we only reviewed one, but it's top for me.

Witch Hat Atelier And Magic Secrets

SPEAKER_02

Okay, next one is which had a telier. I heard a lot about this one.

SPEAKER_00

I've heard about this too. Uh guy I was talking to was telling me this is the best anime of the season.

SPEAKER_02

I heard some I saw some of the clips. The animations are the animation's insane. Really? There was a scene which I heard like they spent so much time on, but yeah, I heard the animation.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, it looks really nice. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Let's see what the premise is. So this one in a world where witches and witches wield breathtaking magic, Coco coming from a humble background, often wishes she were born one herself.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, so she's not a witch.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yeah. After all, the secret behind casting magic is strictly guarded from non-witches. But when Coco managed manages to catch a glimpse of the witch Keefrey casting a spell, her revelation on the truth behind magic drastically alters the course of her life. However, Coco's curiosity pays a steep price when a disastrous spell cast and ignorance brings a tragic fate upon her beloved mother. Keefry takes the shaken girl in, recognizing both her resolve to save her mother and her link to a group of forbidden magic heretics. Secrets are a heaven of a heavy burden, and between navigating a society that views her as an uninvited guest and mastering the art of magic, Coco must give her all to prove prove her worth as a witch.

SPEAKER_00

To me, this sounds like a pretty I know it's the demographic is saying, but it sounds like a pretty classic shonen storyline. But it's saying. Yeah, but it's saying it, but that just means like for a slightly older audience.

SPEAKER_02

I uh I saw some pages off the manga too. It has it has amazing art, the manga itself, too. So I'm I'm I actually I've been wanting to watch this one.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, we got our two. Yeah, that's that's that's there's our two. Oh, we should look at we should look at some more for sure.

SPEAKER_02

Otherwise it's gonna be the shortest episode we've ever thought. But um sounds interesting.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it does. I mean, but I will say this doesn't sound as appealing to me as the uh the other one that we looked at.

SPEAKER_02

Really? Actually, no, I agree. The other one looks is based on the Snob Sallone is a little bit more interesting for me.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. And I know this says it's a saying, but the the characters look like kids compared to the other one where they don't look like kids. You don't like no, I like I like older characters. I I feel like I can understand them more, connect to them more. There's less annoying tropes with older characters.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, okay.

SPEAKER_00

Like kid characters are always so fucking annoying.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, the the last one this says the the the kid's like 15 though.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

But they but like look at the the look at the kid, you know. The other the poster for which had those actually look like little kids, like fucking like children.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Okay. Hmm. Okay, anyways, next one Dr. Stone season three. Okay, we gotta cancel that one out.

SPEAKER_00

I think I've seen like one season of Dr. Stone.

SPEAKER_02

I read it. I think it's great. I fucking left Done. Yeah, it was interesting. Yeah, I like it a lot. The the artist or the the author for Dr. Stone wrote one of my other favorite mangas ever. Um Sunken Rock. I don't know if you heard about that one. I have not. Let's see. I can let me try to show it to you. But yeah, anyways, super badass manga. Love it, but I also love Dr. Stone as well.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I like Dr. Stone as well. But uh it was one of those anime where it's just like I stopped watching anime at the at the time, so I never watched like more than the first season.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Oh yeah. The author for the one I was talking about, his name's Bowie Chi, and he made something wrong. Anyways, irrelevant.

Romance Picks And Comedy Bias

SPEAKER_02

Next one is Ramparts of Ice.

SPEAKER_00

That's a cool name. But I'm gonna guess this is not gonna be it's romance. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

You don't like romance?

SPEAKER_00

Not a huge fan.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I actually love romance. Do you? Um, my sister told me about this today, actually, literally. She said she says pretty good. It's on Netflix, I think. Uh-huh. Let's see. On the surface, high school student Koyuki Hikawa seems unapproachable and terrifying to most other students. In reality, Koyun is just insecure and prone to overthinking due to her uncomfortable experiences in middle school. However, her chance encounter with two boys in school, Minato, Amamiya, and Yuto, Yuta Hino, sparks a change in her life. Her, like her friends, Miki Yazumi, the boys are never afraid to approach Koyun and seize her for who she really is. Although Koyun starts spending more time with Miki, Minato, and Yuta, she finds herself torn between her newfound bliss and her fear of getting too attached to others. Meanwhile, each of her friends quietly struggles with her own challenges. But as the new friend group continues to navigate high school, Koyun and others start to break out of their shells and enjoy their adolescence to the fullest.

SPEAKER_00

Sounds like a bit of a coming of age story.

SPEAKER_02

Dude, that's that's like straight up my alley.

SPEAKER_00

Really?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Damn. That's straight up not my alley. I mean, I'd like if you really want to do it, I'll fucking do it.

SPEAKER_02

LC, LC. I'm trying to see like what because you know my anime list has like a section where they recommend similar animes. Yeah. So I'm looking at here. Let's see. Oh, yeah, like this one I really like too.

SPEAKER_00

You know, like I'm not a I'm not opposed. Like Aaha Auto Ride. I'm not I'm not opposed to romance anime or like romance shows in general. It but it does take more convincing for me to get there. Like it's gotta be a real compelling story. And I just have so many problems with it because I don't like sad stories, I don't like fucking tragedies, I don't like stupid shit happening for no reason. And that's mainly why I don't like watching romance too much because I feel like there's like a ton of like fabricated drama. And I don't like that in real life, I don't like that in fucking shows. So usually I stay away from real.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, like I see here is similar to Blue Box, which I also love. I was a skip to loafer, which was an amazing uh series, like rom com. What else was what else was similar to real life, which I also love? I haven't seen any of these.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I watch like I watch a lot of rom-com. What is it about romance that you watch?

SPEAKER_02

But it's not limited to anime too. I also really like like rom-com movies, rom com series. Like anything new on Netflix, whether it's like shitty or good, I watch all the rom-coms.

SPEAKER_00

Actually, yeah, I guess like the the even even the rope romance reality TV shows.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I don't know why. I think I just like cheesy, cheesy stuff.

SPEAKER_00

I guess I'm not sure.

SPEAKER_02

But romance in the in this in the strictly romance sense, I like cheesy stuff, which is interesting.

SPEAKER_00

Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I don't like I'm not the biggest fan fan of like sophisticated movies that explore themes of love. I mean, actually, I don't mind those either, but something about rom coms, maybe it's just like a brain raw thing.

SPEAKER_00

I just like to perceive it as is, as presented. I I guess another thing is like these rom-coms are usually like high school love or university love, so it's like kind of nostalgic for us.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, that's probably a huge thing. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, like a the the whole like a reminiscence like that.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, because a lot of a lot of it is always like centered around school life, you know? Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. That's fair.

SPEAKER_00

But uh but yeah, like I said, yeah, it's a contender. Like I'm not gonna I'm not gonna veto it. Yeah. If so many people think it's good, and if you really, really, really want to see it, then we can fucking do it.

SPEAKER_02

Next one is go for it, Nakamura Kun.

SPEAKER_00

You know what? I even just looking at like the all the anime, I don't there's so many of these. I don't know if I've heard of like most of these.

SPEAKER_02

Well, I I haven't heard about this one. Have you heard about the manga? No, no, not the manga for this one either.

SPEAKER_00

Boys Love comedy.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, interesting. I don't think I have I watched any boy love comedies? I don't remember. I'm pretty sure I have. I'm probably sure I read a bunch, but yeah. What exactly is boys love? Literally how it sounds boy, boy love.

SPEAKER_00

So it's just like guys, like instead of straight relationships, they're gay relationships?

SPEAKER_02

Same sex, like romantic uh interests. Oh yeah, cool. Yeah, it's typically for female audiences. It's not like um I at least from the ones that I've read and seen, it wasn't they're they're not like explicit in this stuff.

SPEAKER_00

It's just like yeah, that's not yeah, I'm not uh concerned that that would be the case at all. But damn the I I was almost hoping this was like a comedy because that's what the poster looks like.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Oh, there is some comedy in it. Well, it's it seems like it's uh it's a rom com too. Yeah. In the boy love setting, yep. Which is also up by a jam. But I mean, again, contender if you really want to go for it. Let's see. It's about this guy, this guy named Okuto, who laid eyes on this guy named Aiki and said it was love at first sight. And then ever since then, he dreamt of him becoming this best friend. Yeah, appears that this this interest, this love interest is a really popular guy in class, and it's not going well. But yeah, that's the premise. It says, much to Nakamura's surprise, he does eventually make an impression on Hirose, albeit not quite the one he wanted. Fortunately, the school year has only just started, so he was more than enough time to turn the tide in his favor. Unfortunately for Nakamura. However, it seemed that the biggest obstacle in his way is his own delusions. Oh, I kind of like that. Yeah. The part where it's it's what I can guess from this statement is that he's probably all up on his head. There's a lot of like component of anxiety. I'm afraid to approach, try new things. I I kind of like that that theme.

SPEAKER_00

I'm more interested in this one than the other romance. Me too, actually. Specifically because it looks like there's some comedy in it. Oh, is that that's the one? I mean it looks like this would be like light, lighthearted, and kind of funny compared to the other one. Seems like quite serious. Yeah. So for that reason, I would choose Go for it and Nakamurakun over the Ramparts of Ice. Okay. Next one is uh Wistoria, season two. Haven't seen season one, but we gotta skip it. Yeah, we gotta skip it because it's like seasonal or multi-seasonal.

SPEAKER_02

The first, the first I read the manga, it's pretty good. It's about this pretty pretty like general, common shonen-based theme, I'd say. Yeah. Is this guy who doesn't have really magic abilities, but he kind of just becomes he's like OP in other people. It's just like black clover or something. Basically, like like you know, Mashley, like yeah, kind of kind of like that too. People who don't have like magic powers, but they're op in other ways. It's pretty good though. I like it. Broccoli. But we have to we have to scratch this one out.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Next one is let's see, Botan Kamiya fully blossoms when drunk. That's a pretty interesting title.

SPEAKER_00

Wow, lots of uh fucking romance this season, I guess. I love this time.

SPEAKER_02

What is gourmet? Is it a food anime? Yeah, I bet. I love food animes.

SPEAKER_00

So the only one I've seen is like stories in a show food while I know she's like really good. But anyways, this one, don't read it. Sure. For Ibuki Tonami, drinking alcohol is her favorite way to unwind from her college studies and duties as her dormitory's resident assistant. However, due to past bad experiences with others, Ibuki feels insecure about the hiccups he gets when drinking and therefore only drinks alone. But as first year student Botan Kamina moves into the same dormitory, things begin to change. During an outing with their doormates, Botan coincidentally spots Ibuki drinking by herself. Although she has never tried alcohol before, Botan is curious about Ibuki and her drink. Ibuki willingly shares her drink, and it turns out that drinking alcohol turns the usually well-mannered, cheerful Botan into an assertive flirt. The other residents of their dormitory are shocked to discover that the withdrawn Ibuki has started drinking with Botan. Every new drink Botan tries becomes a fond memory, and she hopefully and she hopes to gradually break Ibuki out of her shell so that the two can enjoy drinks with the others one day.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. I like the one, the the one before I think it's more interesting. I think out out of all the romance one we talked about, I like the one we talked about before. The one right before this. Yeah, which is like go for it, not come racum.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I agree. This doesn't sound too funny.

SPEAKER_02

I'm sure it's a good show. Yeah. Yeah, I'm sure, yeah, I'm sure it's a good show, but just didn't really pique my my interest. Yeah, okay. Next one is oh, this one we also have to scratch out. It's Mani Machita. Never heard of this. Oh, you know? Like Iruma? No. I've I read a bit of it. I actually wasn't too interested when I read it. What's it about? Oh, it's about this like this kid who's adopted. Okay. But he goes to like a like a like a fantasy, fantasy school.

SPEAKER_00

Oh.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Cool. Sounds interesting.

SPEAKER_02

Demon school, demon school, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But he's actually a human, but he's adopted. Because his I feel like adopted by demons? No, I think his grandfather at or one of yeah, I think his grandfather is like the head principal of the yeah, yeah, yeah. But he actually becomes OP.

SPEAKER_00

It's does he have like hidden powers?

SPEAKER_02

I'm not sure about powers. I don't think I don't think I got to that part, but I've heard later throughout the series he becomes OP. But we have to cancel out that one.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Next one. The time I got reincarnated as a slime season four. I I know this is super popular. Oh, I love the series. I haven't seen any of those.

SPEAKER_02

Well, I read the manga.

SPEAKER_00

I think it's I think it's amazing. How compelling is it? Because like I don't really give a shit about a main character that's a slime, you know.

SPEAKER_02

I think at some parts it can be slow, but I think it's really the world building is really cool because the premise is that I mean, like it's the Isakaya, right? The guy dies and becomes a slime. Yeah. But he's actually fucking OP because he just like absorbs shit. Oh, and then he gets his minions and they they can also evolve. Like there's like an ogre who becomes like an onir and stuff like that. Gotcha. And then there's like demon lords and everything. He befriends like a dragon, which are also super OP as well. But yeah, there's like huge world building. Gotcha. Because he literally builds like a city, and he's like the I can't, I don't really want to say king because he's not really an authoritarian. Yeah, like a mayor.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Kind of sounds like Eminence and Shadow, like a comedy.

SPEAKER_02

Uh yeah, it's not as it's not as funny as Eminence in Shadow, though. Oh, yeah. Like Eminence and Shadow is like, I think it's fucking hilarious. It's like pure comedy. Yeah, it's super funny. The slime is a bit more serious. There's like deaths, and then the slime gets fucking pissed, and like he goes OP and stuff like that.

SPEAKER_00

But yeah, I mean I guess I guess to make it to four seasons, you've got to have like some substance that can't just be like um Yeah, it's super good.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I actually really wanted to watch the movie when it came out, but uh can't do that one. The next one is Diamond No Ace.

SPEAKER_00

Act two, season two. Have you you said you've seen Diamond Noise? No. You've read the manga manga. I just know about it. Oh, okay. You know, have you watched it? Well, I don't know anything about Diamond Ocean, but I was gonna bring up how this season of Diamond No Ace has an eight point oh. And I was gonna say, remember I was talking about how like these long standing series, man, people watch them and then they are fans and they give them like high rankings.

SPEAKER_02

I just feel like I I just feel like no, I just feel like they get feedback and they just improve and they get better. You know what I mean? Possible. You know what I'm saying? Like possible. Like, for example, like Detective Conan. Like that's that's a huge long running series, I feel like, in the beginning of the movie.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but Detective Conan movies were always good. I'm not talking about movies, like the series. I mean, is is the series even acclaimed? I don't know if it really is.

SPEAKER_02

Is there even a series?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, there is a series. But I'm pretty sure people care a lot more about the movies than the uh the anime. But anyways, like Naruto Shipuna man, that shit should not. I think it has like a 7.8 or something. Yeah. Obviously, should not be that high, or anywhere near that high. Maybe like a low seven or something. Yeah, I agree. Or a high six.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, anyways. We can't do that. The next one is Akane Panashi.

SPEAKER_00

You wanna read this? Okay. From a young age, Akane Osaki has always loved to watch her father, Toru, practice and perform Rakugo, a form of traditional Japanese comedic storytelling. Rakugo performers are split into three ranks, with the highest, Shinochi, only granted to the very best performers after they pass a difficult promotion test. When Toru takes the exam, Akane experiences her father putting on a stellar performance in front of a big crowd and judges. But the strict main judge, Isho Arakawa, still fails him, forcing him to quit Rakugo. Ever since Akane ever since, Akane has been diligently practicing Rakugo herself. Now a senior in high school, she coincidentally lands a spot to perform in front of a crowd with the help of Shiguma Arukawa, Toru's former teacher. Her splendid performance surprises everyone and is just the beginning. Shiguma appoints her as his new apprentice, and with his help, Akane sets out to become a Shinochi in her father's place. What do you think?

SPEAKER_02

To be honest, for me, this is just a personal thing. I'm not trying to hate on anything, but I don't really like uh Rakugo.

SPEAKER_00

I don't even know what the fuck it is.

SPEAKER_02

Like there's this really, really popular series that's like really renowned. Yeah. Which was like the Rakugo series. It's this one I'm right now, which is uh Showa Ken Rokuraku by Shinju. Yeah, I wasn't I wasn't a big fan of him. You've seen this one. Yeah. Okay. I'm yeah, so I'm like already biased, I'm prejudiced, but this one does not pique my interest at all.

SPEAKER_00

If I'm yeah, yeah, just reading the synopsis, I wasn't uh too terribly interested either.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, like I don't want to offend anyone, that's just my personal taste, you know what I mean?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, just not my vibe right now. Yeah. I want to see um fight scenes.

SPEAKER_02

Next one.

Narrowing Finalists And Choosing Two

SPEAKER_02

Oh, okay. So this one Demons of the Shadow Realm. This is by the same same authors and artists as Full Metal Alchemist.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, really? Dude, I was just about to say this main character sure looks like Alphonse. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I heard a lot about these series, but it actually has a lower rating than I thought. 7.89. Who's the studio? The studio bones. Studio Bones. And then it's a shonen. Let's see. In an isolated village, two twins were born, separated by day and night. It is years later, and while the older brother Yuru has become a haunt hunter of animals, his sister Asa has been locked away in a cage order to perform a special duty that prohibits her from meeting more than a few select individuals. On an otherwise inconspicuous day, a group of armed men riding in helicopters referred to as dragons by the citizens assault the village in search of Yuru, killing every adult on sight. When Yoru attempts to meet up with Asa and flee, he finds a dead body instead. On top of that, the person who killed her claims to be Yuru's twin sister. Before the woman can capture him, Yuru is rescued by a man named Ryu Dera Yu Dera Tadera, an outsider who frequently visits the village. However, it is not long before the two are connected. In a last ditch effort, Dera makes Yuru give to give a gift to the deity of the village, summoning a pair of demons whose existence is bound to reveal the truth behind chaotic events.

SPEAKER_00

Yo, whoever wrote this synopsis, fuck that guy. He just gave up like I feel like two like major plot points in this fucking synopsis. What the hell?

SPEAKER_02

You think so?

SPEAKER_00

Like the saying that his sister gets murdered by someone claiming to be the real sister. I feel like that would have been a sick twist in like end of episode one or some shit.

SPEAKER_02

I'm I'm I'm like seeing it right here. I'm assuming the like the images, the the setting kind of looks like Inuyasha wise, you know what I mean? Yeah, it does.

SPEAKER_00

But I mean this looks cool to be honest.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, but at the same time, there's like a helicopter and there's a guy with the suit in there.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that that threw me off. I I I wish it wasn't people in helicopters. This would this seems more fun as like a full fantasy setting.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

But um interesting.

SPEAKER_02

So the so that the guy's not the twin. Or the guy is the guy twin. He's a twin. Oh, he's the twin, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Or or is it this guy that's the twin? Is it the blonde guy? Oh no, it's the blonde guy for sure. Blonde guy is the twin.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, because Vero is a twin. Okay, interesting. What do you think?

SPEAKER_00

Um, well, I I have tons of bias. This is like right up my alley. The animation looks fucking sick. The art style looks so cool. Yeah. That one little fight scene looked epic.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

So I mean, I like this.

SPEAKER_02

Personally, yeah. I'm not that interested. That's fair. If I'm if I'm being honest, I don't like the mix of like modern and historical settings. Yeah. Like um, come on, a group of armed men riding in helicopters.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, like the it shouldn't be a helicopter. Can we like make it a dragon or something?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I think I would have liked it a lot more if it was just stuck to like a stable series. I mean, stable setting, but other than that, it seems kind of cool.

SPEAKER_00

Well, it says it's currently airing, so it's uh it's not even at its 12th episode. Oh, it's a 24 series. Oh, yeah, that's kind of sick. I mean, I'll just watch it on my own time, but that looks just it's still uh it's like top three for me. Yeah? Yeah. Yeah, it's top three for me too. Yeah, you know, you know what I mean? It's top three. I mean, we're almost at the end of the list.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, okay. The where were we?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that one.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. And we can't do this one, class movie elite.

SPEAKER_00

I've heard about this one. It's pretty sick, though. I I watched the first season, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Because there's been there's been a lot of like these uh classroom gets teleported. Is that what one of these is?

SPEAKER_02

It's like a it's like it's not it's not an isekai.

SPEAKER_00

Or sorry, not isakai, just like a classroom of like kids that are like for some reason the best in the world at what they are.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

It's like one of those, right?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. It's like this one genius guy, which is well, there's a bunch of geniuses, but yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I feel like a couple of years ago, this became like a really big trope, like popular. So I've I I remember watching like one anime that was just like this.

SPEAKER_02

Was it um assassination classroom?

SPEAKER_00

I I no, no, it wasn't assassination classroom, but I don't remember exactly what it was. But in that one, they did get isekaid or something like that. Oh yeah? Yeah. And and then like two episodes of it was like the same garbage.

SPEAKER_02

Was it this like guy who was like a president? I think something like that. Okay, never mind. There's there's a manga kind of read similar to what you're saying, but yeah, I thought it was fucking trash.

SPEAKER_00

So I stopped watching it. Next one is um Ascendants of a Bookworm, adopted daughter of an archduke.

SPEAKER_02

Whoa, wait, why is this so familiar? I feel like I read the manga.

SPEAKER_00

Looks beautiful.

SPEAKER_02

Wait, this is this is the fourth season.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, really? Okay. Okay, I guess I've got to skip this.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Next one, it's another long, long title.

SPEAKER_00

I made friends with the second prettiest girl in my class. What do you think about that?

SPEAKER_02

Just put the title. What do you think about that?

SPEAKER_00

That is like so insane. Wait, calling someone the dude, you can't call a girl the second prettiest girl in my class. Just call her the prettiest girl in your class.

SPEAKER_02

I didn't think about it that way.

SPEAKER_00

Dude, yeah, you can't be saying that shit, man. That's like so that's mean.

SPEAKER_02

So it's a it's a romance. Yeah. First year high school student Maki Mahiara expects to spend his school life quietly and unable to keep keep up with the conversations around him and dedicating his free time to video games and B-list movies. Sounds like a like a guy, but but by some wondrous chance, his self-introduction on the first day of class catches the attention of Umi Asanagi, a classmate known among the boys as the second cutest girl in class. That's so crazy.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, dude. Dude, like if this was like a real life situation, I feel like shit. Yeah, exactly. You can't be calling someone the second cutest, second best, second whatever the fuck. That's demoralizing, man. Yeah, it is demoralizing. I think it's insane that the title is called fucking I Made Friends with the second prettiest girl in my class. It turns out the That's like as bad-candidated of a compliment as it gets, you know?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Like you're forever the second one.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, like, oh, you're you're great. Not as good as that guy, though.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. It turns out that Asanagi secretly shares Mayahara's hobbies, which sparks a genuine connection between the two. Despite being part of the most popular circle in class, Asanagi begins spending her Fridays at Mayhara's home instead. The two pass the time playing games, watching movies, reading manga, and sharing junk food away from the attention of their classmates. Before long, it becomes their weekly routine of creating a friendship that acts as a respite amid their very different social standings.

SPEAKER_00

Sounds really cute. Again, I'm not a big real man's guy at all.

SPEAKER_02

Dude, if I was in high school, I think I would I would eat this up. You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_00

I think if I was like, yeah, if I was like in high school and like had a had a crush on a girl, I would like to do that. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Like I'd be like, I'd be like, damn.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I know. Like I actually, yeah, that's exactly the situation I would watch this in, and I'd be like, oh man, I wish I was in this fucking situation too.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I mean the art looks okay, but it looks fine. It looks fine. Okay, but yeah, cross that one out.

SPEAKER_00

It looks good. It it actually doesn't look bad. If I if I was watching like in a mood for romance.

SPEAKER_02

You would you'd watch this over the other one?

SPEAKER_00

No, I would watch the I would watch the comedy one first. But actually, I think I would I would actually yeah, I would watch this over the other girls' one. Really? Yeah. Actually, you know what? Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, you're just saying that because it's more there's a lot of people.

SPEAKER_00

I feel like I'm just like thinking like what I feel like I would enjoy. And I know I would enjoy the comedic aspects of these romance anime consistently more than the romance aspects. Just because like I don't really like drama, I don't really like tense situations.

SPEAKER_02

Like like outside of the action setting?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I see. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, like in a romance. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. Like when when a character feels bad, I feel bad. Oh but don't you like that though?

SPEAKER_02

Don't you like that empathy?

SPEAKER_00

No, I I I I feel terrible, man. I like I don't I don't want to put myself through that stuff. Makes me sad.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, next one is um Agents of the Four Seasons, Dance of Spring. Isn't it a romance? Genre and drama. So many romance. Romance, urban fantasy, okay.

SPEAKER_00

What exactly does this urban fantasy mean?

SPEAKER_02

Fantasy in an urban setting, I feel so there's like monsters.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, okay. Tokyo Ghoul, good example.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, Tokyo Ghoul, Chainsaw Man. Okay, like literally modern setting. Yeah, Fate Zero. What do you think about Tokyo Ghoul?

SPEAKER_00

I thought the first season was great. Yeah. I really enjoyed the first season of Tokyo Ghoul. But after that it was terrible. It was horrible. Like I think Tokyo Ghoul re? As soon as Tokyo Ghoul ends, it I would say it's the worst anime I've ever seen.

SPEAKER_02

Like is that after he becomes Kanaku becomes like Whitehair or whatever? Yeah. After that point The moment he becomes Kanaku up until then was really good, right? Yes. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yes. That first season, really good. But yeah, like this shit is fucking terrible. Root A. Yeah, Route A, this is like so fucking dude. Insane that has 7.0. Like, that's exactly what I'm talking about. Anyone watches Tokyo Ghoul Route A, like, dude, no one can give it above like a four. The manga's way better. Yeah, I believe that. Yeah. But no one can give it above literally like a four or a three. Like it's so good.

SPEAKER_02

I was very disappointed.

unknown

Uh yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Anyways, Tokyo Ghoul banger banger openings. Yeah. So good. Yeah, yeah. Sorry, off topic, but same Singer as or that Singer also sang the Psychopass opening. I don't know if you've uh watched Psychopass.

SPEAKER_02

No, I actually didn't watch Psychopaths.

SPEAKER_00

Dude, I thought first season of Psychopass was so good too. I was a big fan, yeah. Loved it. But anyways, back to Agents of the Four Seasons. What do you think about that? Did we read the synopsis? No, do you want to read it? Okay. For centuries, the task of bringing the seasons has been carried out by the agents of the four seasons, individuals whose godlike powers make them an easy target for covetous groups. One such group, the rebels, orchestrates an attack on the agents. To save the others, the agent of spring, Hinagiku Kayo, allows herself to be captured and disappears from the face of the earth. Despite the lack of help, even from her own village, Hinagiku's guard, Sakura Himedaka Himedaka, believes she is still alive somewhere and refuses to give up the search. Against all odds, Hinagiku is found ten years later. However, the traumatic event caused a massive shift in her personality. Thanks to Sakura's encouragement, Hinagiku gets the courage to summon the season that was once lost. In order to move forward, the duo must face a past that haunts them and the demons willing to destroy everything to achieve their gold, their goals.

SPEAKER_02

That's pretty cool, actually.

SPEAKER_00

The trailer might sell me on this. You think so? Well, because the premise is interesting enough. Yeah. You know, as long as like the the animation doesn't suck.

SPEAKER_02

The animation looks pretty, like pretty decent, I would say.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know. I I don't know. I'm getting kind of scared at some of the still shots.

SPEAKER_02

Actually, you're right. You're right.

SPEAKER_00

Because like they're gonna they're picking the best scene. Okay. If that's like the best action scene they got, then they don't got very much.

SPEAKER_02

Like compare to um Witch Hat and the first one we reviewed, like those two are like top tier animation.

SPEAKER_00

Like compare like a Jujutsu Kaisen anime action trailer to like Oh, you can't you can't compare Jujutsu Kaisen, though. Yeah, but top tier like that. Yeah, but like I'm saying, like, you know, that's the kind of stuff that makes you want to watch it.

SPEAKER_02

Well, I think Jiu Jukaisen is the when we watched the other two trailers, it was comparable, like the one with military thing or yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Also, Jujutsu Kaisen is an action anime and this is a romance anime.

SPEAKER_02

But yeah, I mean, very low on our list, I think still. We got a few more to go. We've got three more to go. Yeah. The next one is an observation log of my fiance who calls herself a villainous. I mean, where I did I read this? No, I haven't.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, this sounds like a fun little comedy, like a true slice of fantasy. Sounds like a true slice of life where it's like the plot is probably not going to be incredibly substantial.

SPEAKER_02

Let's see, let's see. Cecil Glow Alfosta's life is always utterly unchallenging. The heir to his father's kingdom, he is known as a genius in everything he accomplishes. How however nothing interests him until he meets his fiancee. Bercha Ebil Nochez on their first meeting, Bercia tells him that they are inside an ultimate game and she has the role of the villainous who interferes with the relationship between Cecil and the heroine. Although she proclaims she will further she will fulfill her duty as a wicked flower. Bersha's action ends up causing more good than harm. Intrigued by her behavior, indeed, Cecil decides he wants Bercia around and helps her behind the scenes, but with a fiance like Bercia, the heroine might not be needed anymore. Not a fan.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, like I was saying, it sounds like a classic like slice of life where it's just like a bunch of little gags and jokes and you know good vibes. I hate villainous isekai. You do? I've never seen one.

SPEAKER_02

I th I I just can't get into it for some reason. Yeah. Yeah. I yeah, not a big fan, to be honest.

SPEAKER_00

Unbelievable. I don't think it's really like for guys like me and you. I don't think it's really for like guys like me and you.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Not for me. And then next one. Dude, these names are getting just longer and longer.

SPEAKER_00

The Klutzy class monitor and the girl with the short skirt. I'm sure this is gonna be great. The synopsis says Sakura Daimon takes his role on the school's public morals committee very seriously. Every day he dutifully checks students' appearances at the school gate, most often scolding Kohinata, a rule-breaking girl with bright hair and a short skirt. Though she finds his constant lecturing annoying, everything changes when she discovers that Sakura Daimon is actually a bit of a mess himself. A lighthearted, sure romantic comedy about a strict committee member, a bold classmate, and the chaotic school life that brings them together. What do you think? You know, it actually trailer looks kind of good.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it seems like it seems really funny. It does seem funny. Yeah. Like the art is kind of like like mobby a little bit.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

You know what I mean? Yeah. The art style. Yeah. It looks yeah, it looks kind of funny if I'm being honest. It does look funny. It's also kind of like, have you have you watched Psyche? Psyche. The one with the pink hair, the psychic guy.

SPEAKER_00

No, I don't think I have.

SPEAKER_02

The art art is kind of similar to that.

SPEAKER_00

Uh-huh. This reminds me of something else too. I just can't place my finger on it.

SPEAKER_02

Is it the is it the mom from Ranking of Kings?

SPEAKER_00

Maybe. Yeah. No, it's something else. Uh, this art style just reminds me of some other show that I watched.

SPEAKER_02

Is it Mashley?

unknown

No.

SPEAKER_00

What do you think about this? To be honest, it looks okay to me. It's not bad, actually.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. It's up there, I would say. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Top five. Romances that have comedy automatically go above like just raw romance for me.

SPEAKER_02

So last one. Marriage toxin. Genre is action comedy, adult cast. What is adult cast?

SPEAKER_00

Well, that just means like the people are like older, you know. Okay, okay.

SPEAKER_02

For centuries, the poison masters have perfected the art of assassination. Among them, the Gero family stands as one of the five most powerful families of masters, holding unmatched skill and influence. Hikaru Gero, heirs to the heirs to the infamous bloodline, has lived his life deep in the shadows of the underworld, far removed from love or marriage. However, to ensure the poison master bloodline does not die out, the head of the Gero family declares that Hikaru's sister will be forced to bear an heir. Soon after Hikaru crosses path with the Mei Kinosaki, a brilliant marriage swindler, who also happens to be his current assassination target, determined to protect his sister and solve the succession problem himself. Hikaru makes an unexpected request on the spot, asking Mei to help him get married. That's the first time anyone's ever proposed like that. And so with the cunning married swindler May, as his advisor, the elite assassin, Hikaru sets out on the toughest mission for love. His goal, the ultimate marriage, the most unlikely duo, an assassination, I know an assassin and a married swindler take on the world's toughest mission for love.

SPEAKER_00

This sounds fun to me, to be honest. Really? Yeah. Hmm. Like it sounds kind of fun. Sounds kind of funny.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Animation looks alright. Actually, it looks not bad.

SPEAKER_02

Actually, animation is actually looking pretty crisp.

SPEAKER_00

You know what I mean? This one actually looks pretty good. Yeah, it does. Yeah. Oh, I think this might be my new vote for the romance. Top romance.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I think so too. Wait, is it even romance? It's a it's there's no romance. It's an action comedy. But I I actually really like this one.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, me too.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. So we gotta choose now.

SPEAKER_00

I mean Okay, I think it's between this one and the other two, right? Yeah. Nippon, Sangoku, Witch Hat, and the last one. What do you think? I want to watch all three, but that's too much, I think.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I don't know. What do you think?

SPEAKER_00

I think it's better to do two series, two episodes each week instead of three series, one episode each week.

SPEAKER_01

Or should we do three series, two episodes?

SPEAKER_00

Three series, two episodes each week.

SPEAKER_01

What do you think? Is that too much? That might be too much.

SPEAKER_00

Well, like I'm fine, I'm fine with watching that much. It's just gonna be screaming. Taking the time to review it, hey. Like if it's like if it's like we're reviewing six episodes each week. Oh, that's a lot. And it's two of us talking, you know? Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, we should stick to two.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I mean, like I w I want to do three, but watching only one episode each of each anime per week, I feel like we're not gonna get like a ton out of it, you know.

SPEAKER_02

Well, if I'm being honest, I have my my two.

SPEAKER_00

Which are?

SPEAKER_02

I mean, it's like it's like it's like very obvious though.

SPEAKER_00

Is it these two?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So we just skip over the the comedy one.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, I really want to watch the comedy one too, but it's just because I've heard so many good things about which hat, and then I really wanted to read the manga of the nippon one too.

SPEAKER_00

So yeah, and you know what? We're like guaranteed that these two are gonna be bangers. Like they're 8.5 and they've been out for a season already compared to the other ones, like a 7.5. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, let's see what what's what what are your thoughts? What's what's your top two pick?

SPEAKER_00

My top two are these two. Okay. Well, my top three are these two plus that last one.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And I think this could the last one we're just gonna do.

SPEAKER_02

Mary's toxin?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, Mary's toxin. I feel like it has a chance to be like really, really fucking good. Yeah. But it also it's also most likely to be the worst one of the three.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I mean, it probably will be the worst three. Yeah. Because like we're our interests are like we like more of the action stuff. I mean, not not even just action, more the the bigger theme. I mean, not even bigger themes, but just more serious tones. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Wait, can you go? Which one was the one with the fucking helicopters?

SPEAKER_02

Oh, the this one? Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, just making sure that's not one of the one of the ones.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, I'd rather watch the marriage toxin than demons on the shadow. Yeah, me too, me too. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

My top three is the Witch Hat or Marriage Toxin and Nippon Sangoku. Okay, I think I want to keep this one for sure.

SPEAKER_02

Nippon Sangoku. Yeah, for sure. Like the the dude, the art.

SPEAKER_00

It it looks very good.

SPEAKER_02

The art is very caressive, like it looks super interesting. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, dude, that looks so good.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. I think it'll be really good.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, this one for sure. You know what? If you want to do Witch Hat Adelayer, let's do Witch Hat Adelaire.

SPEAKER_02

Is it Adelaire? I thought it was uh Atelier Atelier. Yeah, Witch Hat Atelier.

SPEAKER_00

Let's just call it Witch Hat until we figure out.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, Witch Hat, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So is that our two? Are we deciding on these two? Make sure they're all 12 episodes.

SPEAKER_02

They are.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Episode 13.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I mean, you know, if we're doing two episodes per week, we'll get through it in a month and a half. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And then we can just go do the other two.

SPEAKER_00

No, I mean we're gonna watch the summer if it's Oh, so you wanna like this is the only time we'll do spring?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. I mean, unless we have time to do that.

SPEAKER_00

Well, because if we're getting through a series in a month and a half, then we're gonna catch up to the season.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, that's true, that's true, that's true. Then then we can watch, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so we're gonna do four anime per season basically.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So that so it'll even out to three months.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. I actually know, because like actually, yeah, because the summer season just started.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. Because we go with those two?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I think we go with those two. So that's our choices for our okay. Do we call it an anime club or a book club?

SPEAKER_02

Anime club.

SPEAKER_00

Anime club, but that doesn't exactly like convey what it is, you know.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, like uh anime book club.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, because like when you hear like book club, it's like really obvious that you know we're reading books together. But if it's like a fucking anime club, it doesn't really convey that we're watching anime together with our viewers.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, okay. Let me say let's let's say anime book club.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. Anime book club.

What To Watch Before Next Week

SPEAKER_00

Because yeah, then it's uh enough of a distinction from manga. Yeah. But yeah, so the choices for our new anime book club are going to be Nippon Sangoku and Tongari Boshi no Atelier, which is which had Atelier or Adelire. We're not sure what it's called. But uh yeah, we're gonna be watching these things these two anime, and we'll watch the first two episodes of each one, and then in next week's Thursday episode is when we're gonna be talking about them. So if you guys want to watch along and be a part of this anime book club, which we would absolutely love, please watch the first two episodes of each as well. And yeah, I can't wait to get into this.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, so tune in. I'll try to really focus on these on these like episodes, like what I what I want to comment on. It could be the opening, could be like the music, could be the the intro, like if they have the premise, how they introduce characters and see how the how it goes.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, me too. I'm gonna take it serious, like a like a legit like book club, you know, like feeling like my fucking book reports and shit. Yeah. Because the the other anime, I'm actually feel a little feel bad about the anime episodes that we've done in the past, the top 10 episodes, specifically because I love those anime that I mentioned, and I know you love the anime you mentioned too, but for me, it's been so long since I watched a lot of those anime. So it's like kind of hard to make like compelling arguments for what I believe about those anime. It's I'm like lacking the finer details that really make an argument strong.

SPEAKER_02

Right, right, right.

SPEAKER_00

So I'm glad that we're doing this anime club because I'll be able to make those compelling arguments for these fresh anime that we're watching. And I'm really excited to do that.

SPEAKER_02

I agree. Okay, so we'll stick with those.

Thanks For Listening And Wrap-Up

SPEAKER_02

So yeah, hope you're uh hope you tone tune in for next week.

SPEAKER_00

Yep. Thank you guys very much for listening. This has been catch up with Kai and Cohen, and we'll see you guys soon.

unknown

Bye.
