The Best Friend Project
When her best friendship ended, Rachel Joy Swardson went to the bathroom. Hundreds of them. She taped up postcards with a QR code in bathroom stalls, asking the question she was too hurt and humiliated to verbalize, "How do you do friendship?" Thousands of women answered, and their stories changed and healed her. So she brought them forward, here for you on The Best Friend Project podcast.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to actually record my On The Phone call with Robyn. However, I did have a painful epiphany in replaying her episode. Some high school ghosts have come to haunt... And I think I need to face them, at some point.
Also note to self, holding a cell phone up to a microphone doesn't really work well. Live'n and learn'n - thanks for being here!
Nest week hear an incredible conversation with Mary McGreevy from Tips from Dead People. What we learn about friendship from the dead is very interesting!
Well, this is a little bit disappointing because I was so excited to share the on the phone call with Robin with you all today. But unfortunately, we had some technical difficulties, and by we I mean me. Uh she was in the car on her phone and it seemed like it recorded, but when I played it all back, the audio was just brutal. So unfortunately, you're not going to be able to hear the call, but she was pleased with it, she was really happy to do it, she was generous to thank me for my vulnerability and just being able to talk about the things that we talk about on this show. And I do want to share that when I re-listened to the episode, it really hit me when she spoke about high school and how she was the good friend, and how you know people would lie and like say they were with her because like I was that friend, not the good one. Like I lied and said I was at Emily's all the time, and it like haunted me about Mel Melanie the episode before talking about low integrity, and I was like, oh god, like I was a low integrity friend in high school. I hate that I have to say that out loud, but it's true, and Robin's episode really made me realize that my friendship, like distance, you know, how I just don't tend to feel close to people, I think started much earlier on than I was willing to kind of see before. So, yeah, what I got out of her episode is that I have a lot more digging to do. And this recent breakup is not an isolated incident. And uh anyway, I want to put a pin in that because I'll definitely be coming back to that. But um just want to thank Robin for bringing that up, for being the example of the good friend, you know, things are so heavy, and we're surrounded by so much toxic friend memes and things like that. It was really refreshing to just talk to a really good person who had a really good friend. So I really appreciated that. Next week on the show, you will meet Mary McGreevy. Mary has this Instagram page called Tips from Dead People, and Mary is fascinating. I found her because she talked about a um obituary that was written by a best friend who had died, and it made me wonder like, what can we learn about friendship from dead people? So I asked Mary that in her DMs, and she replied it was like uh a lot. And she wasn't wrong. This episode blew my mind because it turns out that death does not get the last word. Our best friends do. So tune in next week to the best friend project to hear Mary McGreevy from Tips from Dead People talk about friendship and uh the dead and what lasts after our physical being is long gone.
