Genesis And The Image Of God

Hello and welcome to Five Minutes in the Word. I'm Ronnie Cooksie. In Genesis chapter one, verses twenty six and twenty-seven it says, Then God said, Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the sky, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth. “Let Us” And The Trinity

them. Now wait a minute, how can one God say let us? That must be a typo. It is indeed not a typo. The Bible teaches us that God is a Trinity. He is triune. He is three in one. It means that He is three simultaneous expressions of one God. He's God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit all at the same time. Now that's a big truth. It's okay because He is a big God.

Your Spirit And Your Worth

And that big God created you. He fashioned you to be different from all the other things He created. He created you with a spirit and decided to allow your spirit to intimately relate to the very Spirit of God.

A Prayer To Trust Jesus

Wow. How can anyone ever tell you that you are not valuable? In Ecclesiastes three, eleven, we read that God put eternity in our hearts. That is, God created you to want to worship someone or something. Someone or something you have determined is greater than you. Far too many people spend their entire lives searching for something worth worshiping, but always passing over the very God who created them. Elsewhere in Scripture it says that if you have faith in Him, you are the apple of His eye. I hope that you've come to know Him as your Savior. If not, right now, right where you are, you can pray a prayer like this to God if it expresses your heart's desire to Him. You can pray like this, dear God, I know that I'm a sinner. I believe that you love me so much that you died on the cross that I deserved. Thank you. Please forgive me because of what you have accomplished on the cross. Please come into my heart and live there forever as my Lord and Savior. By your grace, help me follow you the rest of my life. If you truly mean that in your heart, then God will forgive you and He will give you eternal life. Now get to a Bible believing church and tell them so they can help you.

One Human Race And A Designed Body

So God created the first two humans, Adam and Eve, and all the people ever born across this globe have descended from them. There's only one human race. And God created the amazing human body with all of its cells, organs, and systems. He created the beating heart that continues to beat without us needing to tell it to do so. way. The passage today also says He created us male and female. We are different but equal. God chose your gender on purpose and he makes no mistakes. Thank Him right now for that gift. God created both genders to be unique but complementary. Beyond that, he also created each one of us uniquely. Uniqueness And A Call To Pray

one of a kind. You as an individual are important to God. God has always known who you are amidst the other seven billion people living around the earth. And he is listening for each of those seven billion voices to pray to him, and he's ready and able to listen to them all at the same time. Take some time to pray today. Take a moment and express to God these things in prayer. Tell him that you're thankful that he's a big God. And that gives me comfort to know that the God who cares for me is powerful. Thank him that he created you with a spirit and that he wants you to know him. And then thank him for creating you as an individual, for the precision and the detail with which he fashioned you to be exactly who you are.
