One Piece Odyssey - Atticus and Ryker

Hello everyone and welcome back to the Kirby Silla podcast. I'm Attic your host, Atticus, and today I'm joined by my good friend Micah. Woo! Hi! Great to see you on the podcast. Okay, today he will be talking about One Piece Odyssey. Big fan of One Piece and the game myself. One Piece One Piece. Love that song too. Okay, so let's start with the question. Let's get into it. Someone who has never played One Piece Odyssey Odyssey, tell me about it. So basically, it's a game. It involves fighting, and the bit I'm up to, it's like a maze and a puzzle, and you have to solve it. And it's a lot about fighting and like choosing your strategy of attack. So is it like Dragon Ball Sparkling Zero? Well, no, because you get to explore in the in One Piece Odyssey. Oh, um, I I'm assuming in Dragon Ball Sparkling Sparky Sparkling Zero you can't explore. Um well I don't really know that myself because I've never played Sparkling Zero. Uh have you got a favourite one favorite One Piece character? And what is uh sorry, I have Ku. It's probably Luffy's brother Firefist Ace with the flame flame fruit. And then that's my second favourite. But my favourite has got to be Ryanoro Zoro with his three sword style. I thought it was Chopper. No. Well I like Zoro because he uses three swords to attack his foes. And then I unusual. I also like Firefist Ace, one 'cause it's Luffy's brother and he has a really cool devil fruit devil fruit flame flame fruit and I like when he turns his fingers into fire. And for question three, have you got any favorite character to use in battle and what is it? Well, for this swan, I might have to go with Luffy. Gum gung because of his gum gung attacks and one of his attacks, gum gung gatling. It's like an attack where he hits them and it's like an illusion. You can't really see where his hands are, and I like it. One of the reasons is because it it's a cool attack and because it hits multiple targets. Also, what's the one where he daddy does to def like when he's fighting the Marines in the first season? And he's like gun-gum. I think it's like gung gung cannon. Uh um pistol. Oh yeah, gung-gum pistol, and then chop chop cannon! Oh yeah, chop chop cannon. That's when he's fighting Buggy the Clown. Oh yeah, I forgot. With the Chop Chop Fruit. Well, fun fact about Buggy, he actually faked eating his devil fruit. I actually learnt that in the m manga, so yeah, I think Buggy's a cool character, but he's also a bit silly. So, for question four, what do you think is the strongest character? Well in my opinion, it's probably Zoro and Luffy. Because in the anime, they're also the strongest. Um, and they're pretty strong in the game too. But I they're not as strong b as they used to be because I went through this bit where this girl named Lim did this annoying thing where she touched our touched our chest and like our power went away. And it was so damn annoying and hard. You what do you mean by chest? What power was in the chest? Oh, so like she touched your chest and then um none of if you had a devil fruit couldn't use it. None attacks would work except to like a punch or something, because each character has like a not a skill, it's like it just like an attack that doesn't do as much damage as the skills, and it just took all your skills away. So you went from having all the skills, and then some characters only have one or two skills, but some also have three, like Luffy, Usopp, Nami. Okay, uh now for question five. Um, is it what is your favorite place in the game? Well, so it probably has to be oh and what is it? Oh, um, it's probably it's probably the tree house and the thunder he the thunder ruins. That's where you fight the thunder boss, and the tree house is where this guy takes you in to save you because after you lose your power from limb. Who's limb? Oh, she's this girl with the power, and he can touch you, and these cubes come out of you, and you lose your power. Oh yeah, pretty bad. What um have you got a favorite attack or or special move and what is it? Oh yes, my favorite attack has to be his or three sword style, only gurie, because he just gets his swords in this position, what like across his hips and then with the one sword in his mouth, and then he just swings them forward like only booty. So cool. Okay, and um what do you like most about the battles? Well, so I like the battles, so you have the option to heal, use your like wake attack or use your skill. And I like how there's like at the top, it's like warning. If you kill that and that with that and that before a member of the straw hat dies, XP bonus. Once I got an XP bonus, that gave me 17,000 extra XP, and everybody on the straw hats that I have got out three levels. Wait, so if someone dies, they you get XP? Well, we get an XP through a battle, and if you do the quest, it's not like a quest, it's like a thing that it tells you to do, and then if you complete it, you get the XP bonus. Oh, okay. And it's usually it's always over a thousand. Oh, oh, um, okay. I don't think you get it. No, I don't. Um have you have you got a favorite enemy and what is it? So my favorite enemy, it is the um the br I think it's called a bronze bat. They're like these bats with cool teeth. And then they're a really cool colour and the the the wing shape is pretty cool. Wait a second, let me just Google that. Oh my god. Hmm. Oh wow. They're cool, I know. They're kind of creepy. Okay, so and um what is the hardest boss you have ever fought? Well, so I had I I'm not very good, but I've only fought one boss, but it was pretty hard anyway. So there was like there was a boss, but there were also these little things. It's like the fire boss. Yeah, they were like these little um monkey things that you had to fight as well. What is Brom's brat bat your favourite enemy? Well, I like how it has the the ears, and then I also like the shape of the wings and the colour of it. They're the main reasons. Yeah, um Bron's bat looks kind of weird. Yeah. Oh no. Okay, and um next question. So has anything really funny happened while you were playing? Oh yeah, so Nami um the one of the the navigator she got stuck. She got trapped with this like a big, big fat fat little monkey thing. It was pretty funny. Okay, and uh question twelve. What made you dislike fighting them? Oh, it has to be these I um I don't remember what they're called. I like these rat things, they're fat and they have these chunky tails. They're they're not hard to fight, they're just annoying. Because there's usually when you fight them, there's like three of them and they're they're tanky, so they have loads of health, unlike the other mobs. That's the reason. So, um, and then question 13. Yes. Have you got a straw hat pirate and who have you got a favourite straw hat pirate and who is it? Well I mentioned that before Zoro and Luffy, but otherwise, it has to be Dimai, the fishman. He's the fighter, he's a fat fish, and he does fish man karate. And on his on his chest he has this sun this sun tattoo. And the the season where you get him is actually 50 um 57 episodes. But that's nowhere near the lo this longest season, which is 118 episodes. Like I think I checked a couple weeks ago the whole one piece like whole thing together. I think it's over 1500. It's like 1500 episodes, it's so long. It's been like going since maybe nine two thousand. No, nineteen ninety-five, I think. Yeah. So, um, question fourteen. Um, yeah. If you could have one pi one one piece power, what would you choose? Well, in one piece there's these things called devil fruits. They're like these fruits. There's only two of each in the world, but and then each one has different powers. Luffy's is the gum gum fruit, which turns his body into rubber. And then there's other there's also three other people there's other three people on the ship. The m the musician, the rock star brook with the ice ice fruit, I think it's called. Robin with the flower flower fruit, and chopper with the transforming Zoendi bevil fruit! The human human fruit. Have you ever got a favorite part of exploring the game? What and what is it? Well, so my favorite part of exploring the game is going through this cave and something cool that happened. So once I had to go through this small hole, and because Chopper's small, I had to turn into him to go through the hole. He was cute. And uh if you could have one thing to one piece of Odyssey, what would it be? So, like I would how do you get more characters at the start? And you did not have to um lose your pals, because that's just annoying. Very annoying. And uh where are we? We are have you got a um have you got a favorite one piece villain? And who is it? Well, I don't think he's actually in the in the game, um, but it's one of the seven warlords of the sea, which I'm pretty sure is devil fruit in the sand sand fruit. He has like slick back purple hair, he always has like a thick cigarette in his mouth. His name's Crocodile. He runs the Baroque works, and basically the Baroque works are these agents, one numbers one to thirteen, I think. And then um, I mean zero to thirteen. Zero to five have devil fruits, and they're sent on the harder missions, and their partners have devil fruits, and all of them have the female partner devil fruit, which is either days of the week or holidays. And oh, an agent six to twelve or thirteen are sent to get the money or something. And by the way, oh yeah, um, and uh what score would you give one piece odyssey out of ten? Well, I'd probably give it an eight point five. Eight point five um I'd give it an eight point five because I like the puzzles, I like the fighting. Um I think the enemies have cool names. Yeah. Would you recommend One Piece Odyssey to other kids? Why? Well, so I actually would recommend it because One Piece, it's just such a cool show. And then most kids play video games because they're so cool, obviously. I love video games and I also love sport. And I think it's just a good video game of like fighting and exploring and puzzle solving. Yeah. So uh I recommend it for question for the second and last question. Ooh, if you could ask Luffy one question, what would you ask him? Oh, so I'd ask him to be my personal bodyguard. So yeah. Yes, I'd have a personal bodyguard. Someone messes with me, gum gum bazooka, and they're flying off to next week. They do and they and they just say, shut up, man, and then Luffy's like, hi. Yep, there's gum gum powers. Oh boy! Oh, what's that spark in this guy? It's you, it's hard. And then if I want to get away from somewhere, I can just hop on his back. Gum gum rocket away out of school. Um like okay. Say that's sorry. Yep. Hi, Rica. It's me, it's me, Ted. Yep. That's probably what would happen. Who's there? Uh and for the final question, is there anything you dislike about the game? Yes, I hate it so much. So you can choose the subtitles, but you can't use the language they speak in. They speak in Japanese, so it's the only language you hear. Like Japanese. Most unless you're Japanese, you don't know what they say. I also think it's cool that they do it in Japanese because it's a Japanese game. Wait, do they have like English subtitles? Yeah, like you can choose the subtitles, but who reads subtitles in games? Like the subtitles, but who reads them? You just want to play the game. Can you relate? Um, no. Um, there was this one time when I was playing Legend of Zelda and um I was like in this little on this little island with and um I was like on I was like um like walking around and then I stepped on these flowers.

And then there's this woman, she's like she was stepping on my flowers. Yeah, so I've definitely flying inside. I've definitely gone through that, but it's over. I've seen this YouTube video of her like raging. It's like um uh you're like walking through and you step on her files and she's like then she turns into a giant boss in the sky, and it's like her name and it's got like a help button. She's like, yeah! Yeah, I've seen it. And okay, so now I've got one more question. When you log on onto the game, for people who have never played, how do you actually play? Walk me through it. Well, so you start off on the beach and your chip is crashed, and you need to go around and find some crew members to join, and then basically you follow this path, and then you defeat all the monkeys. You then when you're at the end of the path, it's the fire boss, you defeat it, easy goings, and then the girl takes or I don't know if if Nami's there before you do it, the boss, or like you save Nami before the boss or after. I don't know, I'll cover that after. So then for the boss, you get to the boss at the end of the path, easy goings, then Lim, the girl who takes your power, she put your the um on your heart, her hand on your heart, and she basically just steals all your power. Who's Nami? Well, Nami, she's the ship's navigator, she's very special because um in the grand line, weather is actually unpredictable, and Nami the um storms are the most unpredictable, and Nami, she can just tell sunny, yeah, woo, storm pouring down, and then then gets all the guys to get to work, and then Sanji, because she's all like because Sanji, whenever he some Nami says something, Sanji gets life outside and is like Nami. Wait is it Saji because he's the one with the really normal No, that's Usopp. Sanji's the cook and he always gives it to Nami privately and to the everyone else. Go get your food, it's in the kitchen. So, Arnie. Yes, and so and I have a question. Um, do in the actual One Piece series, do they actually ever make it to the Gl Grand Line? Yes, there's actually a sea season called Entering the Grand Line with Laboon and Whiskey Peak. Yeah, but is like does the series end when they make the when they see the Grand Line? No, lastest the season one is in East Blue, and then everything else from there is in the Grand Line. Oh, yes, yeah, pretty cool actually. Okay, so thank you for coming on the podcast, Riker.
