Hi, I'm Bill, and this is the Warrior Medic. You've built a career on a lie. Not because your achievements aren't real, they are, but because the person underneath doesn't believe any of it matters. For 40 years I wore a mask. Military officer, corporate executive, senior manager. Every single achievement felt like one more time I got away with it before someone figured me out. You've spent your entire adult life performing, looking confident while in reality you were terrified someone would see through you. That's the imposter. And he was installed long before your first job. Here's what makes this wound so dangerous. It works. You achieve, you climb, you succeed, and every single win proves to the imposter inside. You just fooled him one more time. I built a career on this, and the entire time I was waiting for the moment someone would point out that I had no business performing any of those roles. The dangerous part is that it works. For years, decades, you climb the ladder, you get the promotions, you earn the respect, and every single achievement proves one thing to the imposter. You got away with it one more time. You fooled them again. I built a career on this as a military officer, corporate executive, all real positions, all real accomplishments, but none of it felt real to me. Every promotion was one more thing I had to pretend I deserved. Every achievement was one more time I got lucky before they figured it out. You see, the womb goes like this a father, whether by abuse, impossible standards, or by making his love conditional on your performance, teaches a boy that his worth is tied to what he produces, not who he is. So the boy learns to produce. So get Forged by Fire, the book that started all of this. It's my story, and it tells how I built that mask, and it also tells how I finally took it off. The link is below. And if this is hitting close to home, then hit subscribe, like this video. Remember, we're all becoming warrior medics, so reach back and help someone on their journey. It's what medics do. My name is Bill. This is the Warrior Medic. No man left behind.
