Seeing What's Here
Most people spend their lives trying to fix what’s outside of them—other people, circumstances, outcomes—and wonder why nothing really changes. Seeing What’s Here is a conversation that cuts straight through that pattern. Each episode explores what’s actually happening beneath your reactions, your frustrations, and your repeated life loops—bringing the focus back to the one place real change happens: you. This isn’t about quick fixes, surface-level advice, or performing growth. It’s about developing the awareness to recognize what’s present, take ownership of your internal world, and move through life with clarity, honesty, and real personal sovereignty, even when everything around you feels out of your control.
Seeing What's Here
Meaning Without Proof

What happens when life seems to be speaking directly to us? In this episode, Vanessa and Pablo explore synchronicity, the coincidences that feel too timely, personal, or meaningful to dismiss. Vanessa and Pablo share several experiences from their own lives, from the strange foreshadowing and retrospective echoes surrounding Panther’s death, to finding their new homes.
We consider whether these moments are Divine providence, intuition, pattern recognition, or simply coincidence and whether we need a definite answer. How can we remain open to meaning without turning every event into a sign? Perhaps synchronicity is not always an instruction to follow, but an invitation to slow down, pay attention, and see what is here.

Can't we receive synchronicity as meaningful without demanding certainty about where it came from or what it means? This episode is supported by our founding sponsor, Cuka Sync Coffee, good coffee, and a reminder to slow down, look up, and see what's here.
SPEAKER_00Welcome to Seeing What's Here. I'm Vanessa.
SPEAKER_03And I'm Pablo.
SPEAKER_00And every week we take an ordinary experience, whether that's a relationship, a fear, a challenge, a frustration, we ask a different question.
SPEAKER_03What are we missing?
SPEAKER_00Because transformation doesn't happen when life changes. It happens when we finally see what's been here all along. Welcome.
SPEAKER_03To see what's here.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_03All right.
SPEAKER_00So um when life seems to be speaking to us.
SPEAKER_03Right, speaking to you, like signs, right? Okay. Okay, yeah. I like that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I do too. I can definitely, you know, see patterns of that in my life. I think a lot of people can. Sure. Um, yeah, whether it's for a good thing or maybe like with Panther's death, a not so good thing, you know.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, what was your experience?
SPEAKER_00Oh gosh, with Peter Science. I mean, obviously we live in a place where there are coyotes and that's a reality, you know, but you never really expect that to happen. But uh the day before he died, I was watching season two of Beef. Not to give away any spoilers, but she loses her dog to a coyote, and I was like, ugh, just really had a visceral reaction to it. And then the next day it's what happened to Panther.
SPEAKER_03Oh wow.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Oh wow. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03So almost like a like you put it out there type of thing.
SPEAKER_00I don't should certainly did not intend for that. Oh, really? It just was happened to be on a show I was watching. I know.
SPEAKER_03And there was some energy there. There was some energy.
SPEAKER_00There was definitely some energy there with uh, yeah.
SPEAKER_03I mean did you worry about the cats when you saw it?
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_03Wow. Yeah. Yeah. There may be some there there. I'm certain understand that about energy.
SPEAKER_00Because I don't like the thought of like I manifest as something horrible. Ugh, yeah, that just makes me sick. But anyway, I mean, there's a foreshadowing, I guess.
SPEAKER_03You should forgive yourself for that, obviously. Well, I'm just saying that they uh well, that's an energy thing, really. More than more than design.
SPEAKER_00What do you think?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, because we can play with energies all the time. And that's why it's so important to uh be careful with that, all that, you know.
SPEAKER_00Well, right. But okay, so you know, there's thousands and thousands of thoughts that go through our mind every day, but it's the ones that we choose to just like okay, the wave particle duality, the one that I focus my attention on is what condenses into matter. Um yes. So I was always cognizant of that and careful if I have a thought like that, um, to not feed it or give it attention.
SPEAKER_02Correct.
SPEAKER_00I don't know. That was just a weird one. But I've also very positive. I was trying to think, I've had a lot of positive synchronistic experiences. I mean, as even being here or meeting you guys, that's you know, I think synchronicities, it's um not anything I could have orchestrated on my own and have it unfold in the ways that it has.
SPEAKER_03No, I still remember the way it happened because it started as just a prayer, an intention. Because yeah, I had had that episode with Miss Nancy, and uh realized, oh yeah, my soul is protesting about this work. Apparently, it's not what I want to do anymore. And so uh I remember talking to a guy um on the phone, he was out of New Mexico, Adam, and he just reminded me, yeah man, just pray. And I put it out there and boom, there you were. So, yeah, intention, that kind of thing, especially I think once you really rein it in. Because yeah, I think in the beginning, if you're all mind and thought, then a lot of what you're doing is just um with ego, and it's like, you know, you gotta really just kind of put put a lot of effort into it, you know. But when you're working with energy and the quantum, holy hell, that's a different, that's a different game, I think. I think that's a different game altogether. Right. And so, and I think we're at the age where we learn, I think we learn that. I'm really careful with the things that I say, and Jessica gets on to me all the time for the way I talk to myself and the words that I put out there.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely.
SPEAKER_03The content that I put into my brain.
SPEAKER_02Sure.
SPEAKER_03You know, even the even the stuff where I catch myself later, it's like, okay, why why are you watching that or why are you looking at that? Not to not to be judgmental and shame myself. No, but to just say, why? What is it? Where what's the there then?
SPEAKER_00Let me see what's here. What's here, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, that's good. Yeah. Right.
SPEAKER_03Oh, so yeah, uh, when life seems to be speaking to you, right? So the past two weeks, uh, my my cousin has been visiting with me, and one day for breakfast, uh, he gets a call from our Aunt Ernestine, and he knows to answer it because it's like it's you know, it's an aunt that doesn't call except for things, you know, like what was about to transpire. And sure enough, uh, our aunt Mary passed away. And I was like, oh, and you know, we said sorries and all that and said hellos and goodbyes, and and and I thought about it later, and I was like, you know, isn't that odd that you know he came here and then she decides to pass away? That was always a fascinating thing to me growing up, because I knew people passed away, but sometimes people choose like when and how. Like, have you ever heard those stories about like the husband and the wife are together for like 34 years or whatever? And then like the wife passes away, and then an hour later the dude passes away. Right. Stuff like that. It's like how how is that possible, like with the human body? Like, is there a switch inside of you that you can like do that? Like just okay, she's gone now, so I'm just going there in my brain and flip that switch, and then I'll just you know what is yeah, I'm not sure, but there is something to it. Yeah, I think there's a lot of power and energy in living that way, I think. You know?
SPEAKER_02Mm-hmm. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03So so so yeah, that happened while he was here. And so I wondered about that that whole time. Like, what was the importance? And maybe this is why we're talking about this, because when things like that happen, you could just say, Well, that was coincidental.
SPEAKER_00Right. I was gonna bring that up. Yeah, as if I could just dismiss it as okay.
SPEAKER_03But it's like, well, hold on, let's get up a few notches in our vision of the frame, because he was here because he wants to move here. There's something about this way of life that seems to be appealing to him. The trees, the, you know, the um just being away from so many people because he's from the Metroplex. And so that was the first thing that we discussed, like just how many people are out there and how poorly they all drive, you know, and you have to fight against that like every day. Yeah. And you know, he's tired of it, and he wants a slower, more meaningful life like this. And but I guess, okay, you know me, I try to put all these things together. So I thought about the whole trip then because I never knew that he washed dishes.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_03And um the movie just came out, Tony. Okay, uh, about Anthony Bourdain. Right. And that's how he starts in the business. He's a dishwasher. James, my son, he washes dishes or has washed dishes and you know, like I guess you could say professionally, you know, like for work, right? Right. And and so when when my cousin Benny told me that, at the same time he was well, he kept cooking me breakfast too. And I was like, okay, there's gotta be a connection here with the dishwashing. Jordan Peterson is a dishwasher too. He was a dishwasher before he did his thing. And so, like, I know in James's case, it has to do with food service, it had to do with love because of the way Jessica brought them up. The way we brought them up.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_03Food was love. We equated food with love. We'd go out to good food, have good food, and those people serving good food, they have something in them that they want to share. And that's like love. It's love. And so I noticed that with my cousin Benny, and then that's when he was telling me how he grew up and what he saw. And then I remembered, oh, okay, yeah. And um, he actually cooked us a really great dinner. Yeah, yeah. Ribs and and and all that. And so I I think that it had something to do with our, well, like in Benny's case, I think it had something to do with our our grandmother. And so then that's when I was like, holy crap. So maybe that's what this whole thing is meaning to me. Because again, these synchronicities and signs, what are they for? You know? Sometimes they they're just for one person, but like in this case, maybe it's for a couple of people. Right. I told Benny when he left, I was like, Thanks for your visit, man, because I felt like I had such a healing time. Because I had harbored some really terrible thoughts about my grandmother, Welita. Yeah, we called her Welita, that's that's Spanish for grandmother. And I had thought that she was just this awful person, and he reminded me that she really wasn't, and that, you know, she kind of embodied what you know, you know, you you ladies are embodying right now, you know, with this new way of looking at life and trying to to, you know, to really get it. It's not that she's she could never articulate that, but she was living it out.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Yeah, right. That's more significant, I think, than just repeating a thing or saying the thing actually embodying that and being it.
SPEAKER_03Being it, yes. And so I I just thought, so then what if what is it all for then? So like if Benny's coming down here and our aunt just died, and you know, what's going on? And I asked about, you know, how the family was, and he was telling me about some of the children and some of the struggles that they're going through, and alcohol was part of their uh struggle as well. And and I was just like, see, you know, we're all still struggling, you know? So even though we're working so hard to get forward, we're still like in the same spot. What are we still struggling with? You know? What is it that we're what is what is it that we're after? Is that what we're is that what the signs are pointing to? You know, how we spend our time every day, what is it all for? What does it all mean? And so one day during our meditation, I was just tell I told him, I was like, so if if Welita was here, with you and me here, what would she say? You know, that's Mary, right? Mary just died. Mary was a mother of children. What would she say?
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03What is it that we're doing here? What are we here to do?
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03And it was so funny. Later Benny picked up a pad and he was like, I think I'm gonna go draw the river. And then he went and he just spent his whole afternoon drawing. And I thought, you know what? Our ancestors worked their freaking asses off to get us to this point so where we can have the luxury of even discussing it the way we are.
SPEAKER_00Right. No. Because they didn't have that. Nope, nope. You were working from sunup to sundown. Yeah. Whew. Yeah. Yeah. What are we doing with uh quoting Gandalf? The time that is given to us.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah, are we really making the most of it?
SPEAKER_00Right, right. And so that's a good question to reflect on and and do something about it if we're not.
SPEAKER_03That's what I like about your your thing about science and synchronicity, because um well, I'm here. We're here in Thompson Paul specifically because we had a choice of all the five valleys when we decided that we would like to stay in this area. And because where I worked, I could have chosen in one of the five valleys. And and so it was it was like I was it was maybe I don't know if I was always in a space looking for home, but I think in particular, our family was always looking for home. It was never, it was never so obvious for my family, for me and Jessica and the boys. You know, Burleson obviously wasn't it. It was a hometown, everybody shits on that, whatever. But even all the moving around that we did, it seemed like we could never find home, right? And so I think when you when you're looking like that and you're seeking, you become more attuned to your intuition and to certain signs and all that, you know. And I remember, I remember the the day or the days that were like that because we we were still undecided. But it's almost like, you know, when you're living out your embodiment, then you're just living it out and just do what you're living out. And so there I was in the office on the young tech said, I got a call out in Thompson or Trot Creek for a water heater that won't stay lit. You want to come help me? And I'm like, okay, because that's what I'm embodying, helping this service tech. Sure. So and I'm living out this whole thing, this whole story, right? Of this propane guy. It's all in, you know, this whole story that I'm making up right in my head. And so then I'm I go out there with them, and then, you know, when we're walking walking up to the door and I see them, my neighbor from 20 years ago from 1700 miles away. Yeah. And we never kept up, but we see each other and we notice each other. That's when Jessica told me. It's like these kind of synchronicities, they're like they stop you in your tracks, and they're just like, whoa, what is this? I couldn't even speak. It was hard to even do the whole call. Even Thurman was just like every couple of things, he was just chuckling and smiling at me. Yeah. There I was on the ground trying to show Dustin how to light this thing or figure out why it wouldn't stay lit. And there Thurman was like just stroking his beard, laughing, like, I can't believe you're here in my apartment. It's like, I know, I don't, I don't, I don't get this.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03And then um, and then I told him, let's get together. And then I remember getting back in the truck or in the van with Dustin, and we drove off. And and I remember this feeling in my chest where my it felt like my chest split wide open and it was big, just this source like feeling. And Dustin, even to the day, he was just he looked at me, he kept laughing. He was just laughing at me. I was like, dude. He was like, Yeah, no words, right?
SPEAKER_00Can't explain it.
SPEAKER_03Can't explain any of that. And I remember calling, I called my mother, I called my friend uh from high school. They were still, we still in touch, and it was like, this is amazing. I mean, I I don't even know what to to make sense of, you know. So we invited him over for dinner at Minnie's so we could talk. And come to find out, he had been in the same kind of seeking, him and his wife. And they even spent time on an island in the South South Pacific.
SPEAKER_02Oh, wow.
SPEAKER_03And so we had that in common, right? You know, and it was like, okay, so you were always seeking. He was a it it uh a pastor, an Adventist pastor, minister, I don't know what they're called. But um he said, finally, what made him decide to come here to Thompson or Trot Creek was when he went to church and he and he met the congregation of all those people, and he said, This is the congregation or the type of people that I would I would always want to be around, or that I always wanted. And so to me, that was like it was not only like a 3D sign, because like if you're looking for home and then all of a sudden you find your neighbor and he says that the church he goes to, all the people that go there are his kind of people, and like then you're like, okay, so they're they're good people, they're not terrible people. It's like a I don't know, vouching for them or whatever. But more than that, it's like the universe is telling you like there may be some there there with being here. Would you be interested in checking that out?
SPEAKER_00Right, right.
SPEAKER_03So it was a sign enough to do to do that, yeah. And then, you know, the same thing with uh taking the work, RCC, because I was gonna stay working at Energy Partners, you know, the propane company here. But then RCC was like, no, here, let's do this. And I was like, okay. And you just I don't know, when you follow signs and synchronicities and live like that, yeah, and then I was that's what I was telling Tesca, then signs are everywhere all the time. Yes. I mean, like this week with Benny. Yeah, we watched King of the Hill, and there was like there's like 10 signs there, and then well, we watched nine to five, the movie nine to five with Dolly Parton. There's a reference in the frickin' King of the Hill that we watched that day that we decided to watch nine to five, right?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03So what does nine to five mean?
SPEAKER_00Well, it's a work day, right?
SPEAKER_03Correct. What do what did my grandparents and all of our ancestors do? They work their fucking ass off. And the what are we doing? Yeah, we're pissing it all away. You know? Like, what are we doing? They gave you this chance. And what are you what are you doing? And so, yeah, I think it was a really big thing. And and so yeah, because well, I I don't know, because yeah, any of these things you could have said, well, it's just coincidence.
SPEAKER_02Right.
SPEAKER_03And you could just keep living your life in sure in the frame that you want to, in the way that you want to, and just hold it down that way. But if you live it out like in the way that you're following like the demands of your ancestors, like right? Why do we hate it when people throw away their life drinking? Why do we hate it?
SPEAKER_00You're saying it's like wasted potential, right? Right. So that's a lot to consider with that. And yeah, for me to be reflective on myself. What am I doing with the time that's given to me? Where do you think that you know synchronicity comes from? Is it does it come from within the psyche, or is you know, or I guess it or does it even matter? We can look at it as well, this is God uh giving me a sign, or you know, providence, divine providence, or you know, it's yeah, my own, my own psyche.
SPEAKER_02I don't know.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's so or all of the above. I don't know. Who makes it?
SPEAKER_03It's so freaky. The other day we were listening to a podcast, uh, this Union Life, and they had a magician on, and he was talking about magic in the like in the occult way of magic. And basically, what did he say it was? It's just you're increasing the chances of synchronicity. That's what you're trying to do with magic.
SPEAKER_00Interesting.
SPEAKER_03And I was like, oh shit, that's that's that's incredible. And all the time that we're talking about like how powerful your words are, and like like the ministry or the the work that I think I'd like to do is help people with their story. Because a lot of times they don't even have a cohesive story that helps them through whatever.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03And so just a story is helpful. But then think about it. What is it about the story? It's the words. It's that it's how we put that out there and and make your world, you know.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah. You can live a magical life or yeah, a life of synchronicity. And I think that involves getting out of our own way. Yes. It's like I was talking to Jessica before we started rolling here. We can you can also get obsessive about it, you know, like you know, always call like I'm always looking for synchronicities, or yeah. Oh, right, you know, or I need that sign before I can move forward. And which is fine. Sometimes, you know, I I've done that before. Just yeah, ask for signs on things. And um, I mean, I bet you can't demand that either. Yeah, but I don't know, you so you can get Really obsessive about it, or is it just kind of just relaxing into the energy field, maybe in a sense, and yeah, letting life flow through you and have that open heart versus a closed heart. And like you say, then I think the more you can acknowledge and see those synchronicities, you do.
SPEAKER_03Mm-hmm. Yeah, because they're happening all the time. But most of the time people are clueless to them.
SPEAKER_00Were we talking about it recently about names? Like when, you know, baby names, how often, you know, when there's a like my sister named her son an unusual name at the time. But then that year, that name just it seemed like tons of babies were named out. Like, where did that come from? It's like you speak it out into the the shared collective consciousness on the side. And then it there it is. Anyway, sorry, you're gonna be able to do that.
SPEAKER_03No, no, that that sounds right. That's that's exactly right.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. It's hard for humans to live inside uncertainty and just be okay with like, okay, I don't know. I can't do it. There you go.
SPEAKER_03There you go. That's it. That's I think that's really what it is, right? Because it's that that control or the it is, it is a control thing.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I was reading that in the book, The Sedona Method, too. I just think when we're wanting to understand something so badly, how that creates a resistance and it's like that's a control issue right there. I have to understand this.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Or I I can't take another step until I understand this perfectly. And I don't think that life works that way. Yeah, you're probably right. I mean, I yeah, otherwise I wouldn't be sitting here because yeah, I mean, we had to take steps into the unknown to move and it's like, okay, I don't know what's gonna come next. I don't know where we're gonna live, I don't know how the what this is gonna look like, but we'll do the next step and the next step. And yeah, I just followed it out. Yeah, but letting go of the control, which is hard as humans. We all want to control, we want to see the next, we want to see the plan laid out in front of us, right? It's hard to take a step forward and not know what's next. We want to have it all figured out.
SPEAKER_03Yes, we do. Yes, we do. We want to be secure.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah. And these again, these are basic human needs, but like what I've worked with people on too is releasing, you know, it's okay to want to have control in your life or to to want that safety and security. But again, that all comes from within, and we can tap into that from within instead of like I need to find it out here and out here, and I must manipulate everything out here to fit my frame.
SPEAKER_02Right, right, right. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So if I can release, then it does, you know, relax that resistance energy. It it dissolves those blocks that we have, and life can more easily flow. And I think we end up being pleasantly surprised. And it happens effortlessly versus, yeah, I I can sit and here's my goal for this year and plan it out, steps one through 20, and I can follow that to a T and make it happen and grind, grind, grind. Or I can let go. And letting go doesn't mean that you don't take action steps. You do. I mean, you know, we could talk about a podcast all day long, but we had to take action steps to actually, okay, you guys bought the lights, and Jessica's willing to do the camera and make it all. There's things you have to do to make it happen. Correct. But yeah, you could do that with ease, or you can do it with forcing.
SPEAKER_03This definitely was not forced. So very easy. Yeah, yeah. I like that too.
SPEAKER_00For sure. Do you think we're more likely to look for signs and synchronicities when we have, like in my situation, maybe grief trying to make sense of something or uncertainty, or yeah, if there's major life transitions, we tend to look for.
SPEAKER_02Oh yeah. Right. Sure. We need comfort, right? Yeah. We need to understand. For sure. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Absolutely.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, we need to we need to make sense of it, right? Like, mm-hmm. I think you're right. Well, and then that's what I guess that's what I'm saying. The more that you realize is that this thing is as above, so below, then you're like, oh gosh. Yeah. Well then, yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah. It's not that you want to be careful, it's just that you want to be what is it? Not wasteful, efficient. Sure, sure. Or just, I don't know, more engaged, more a part of it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03More in it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, having yeah, living with yeah, awareness with with that conscious intention. And yeah. But that's not the that's not control though. Uh I think there's a big difference.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Like I can't control this podcast except for just my wanting to do it, like and being here, showing up and telling you guys I want to do it. And I think that's that is the magic. You know? We think about it a lot, even when we're not doing it.
SPEAKER_00So yeah, because we're yeah, always thinking about topics and be a good thing to discuss.
SPEAKER_03But that's what I was telling, you know, um, my cousin. I used to think that I was helping by answering the phones for the these propane guys driving the trucks that don't really know how to work these PCs and helping them to work through stuff. That was me in that seat, and that was people like my grandfather driving these trucks and doing that. So I thought that was it was like it was like a calling and it was like everything. But you know, things change in life asks your view, even like, yeah. Well, and then that's what I'm saying. Like you were a teacher for years and years, and now that's changing. For sure. And it's like, so what are we what are we doing? You know what I'm saying? Like if you're given that chance, like you're that that's actually the chance that you're looking at right now. A blank slate? Are you kidding me? That's like Yeah, also that's not actually totally blank slate.
SPEAKER_00No, I know, yeah, right, right. But still in a sense it is, yeah, yeah, for sure.
SPEAKER_03And all those things, like you may have to go back to when you first started teaching or even before years that you did it, and then think, oh, all those times like all those things you wanted to do, but you were stuck in a classroom.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, right. Like, what were those things? Yeah, that's a good good place to go to. Yeah. I I remember standing at my classroom window thinking that like you know, you see parents dropping off their kids, and I'm like, Oh, all right, here you go. And but then it's like, oh I wish I could just drive away.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00Exactly. Right, right. What would I go do? Where would you go do?
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03These are great good questions. Yes. Again, we talked about this again, too. It's like, okay, but is there anything outside of you? No, there's nothing. I know. There's nothing. Absolutely not. Never. But this is your playground. This is 3D playground. So you're gonna have to make some choices. You are, you're gonna have to make some choices. So yeah, you choose spouses, you choose work, you choose activities, yep, you know, uh trips you want to take.
SPEAKER_00Yep, absolutely.
SPEAKER_03All those things are that's your input into it, you know.
SPEAKER_00Exactly. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03And I do like the thing of um of following like your intuition and signs and synchronicity, because even though we don't know exactly what's going on, I think there's something going on in the field. There's a field going on.
SPEAKER_00Absolutely.
SPEAKER_03Um, you can't see it, but it's there. Yeah. And the more that you can give it just attention. Oh my gosh, the selective attention video. Have you ever seen that test about selective attention?
SPEAKER_00Yes, the one where the person was dressed like a gorilla and they walked through in the middle of a game and they weren't focused on it. And yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah. And then they asked people, Did you see the gorilla? And they were like, What gorilla?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_00Oh, because they gave them a task though, didn't they to count something? Okay.
SPEAKER_03Because there's two teams. Yep. And they're like, Count the passes between the so I watched the video again. And it's like, well, part of what's going on here too is that when you see other people, because what uh if you notice the video, none of the players, participants, they also um they uh they don't see him. In fact, when they're passing balls, uh, it's not even uh he's not even an obstacle between. So in other words, as far as what you're looking at, you don't even see that. Right. Because that's not what you're paying attention to. And that's when I told Jessica, I said, see, so those the gorilla, that's what you're looking for when you're looking for things like energy, synchronicities, things that are in the quantum. You're looking for the gorilla.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03And most time people are stuck on what's happening in the physical world.
SPEAKER_00Right, right.
SPEAKER_03What everybody's eyes are going and focusing on. Yeah. And so that that is well, I mean, it's it's a challenge for some people, but you gotta start somewhere and then just be aware that that's the way it is for some people. They're never gonna be able to see it for anything other than the 3D thing that it is. Right. You just gotta give them slot. It's like, oh, okay, I I see where you're at. That's okay.
SPEAKER_00That's interesting. You that you're bringing that up because yeah, if any of our viewers, if you enjoy reading fantasy, um the books by Philip Pullman, his dark materials. So there's the first three in the trilogy, but he wrote three more that kind of tell the main character's story after these main events. And he so beautifully laid out this, yeah, the the quantum field is what he's describing in these books. Um, because I was rereading the last one because uh one of the characters in there, his name is Pan, and which is what I call my Panther. Um, so I it was just that it was just a little heartwarming connection for me that I'm like, oh man, I was just rereading it. It's like he's he described it as they called it the rose field. It's the final book in the trilogy, and that's what he's describing is this quantum field of energy. And um, yeah, anyway, highly recommend it. It's such a good read. Um, the the books, the three final ones in the trilogy are the um Book of Dust, Volume One, Two, and Three.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, Philip Pullman. Anyway, just throwing that out there. Love, love, love the books. Yeah, exactly. That's right. Yeah. Do you think that an experience loses its meaning if you know you can't prove that it was a supernatural experience?
SPEAKER_03I think that depends on you. Yeah. Because I remember sharing some of our stories, like my story with a neighbor, and Jessica has her own story uh uh with the bookmobile and a special bookmark. Yeah. And um, and you know, you share this with some people, and you know, it's just it falls flat because they're they they'll just see it like, oh yeah, small world. Yeah, yeah. That'll be it, small world. And and it's like, huh. But you it's so funny because you're ruled by stories. All of us are, you know? Yes. If I ever spend any time with anybody, eventually what I'll find out is what rules them, and it's a story. It's a story they tell themselves, and they live it out every day. You know? That's what they do. And so it's so funny whenever I don't know, you'll share something like this, and it's just so unbelievable, you know? That it's just like, well, the chances are so slim, it's just a coincidence. Just a coincidence. But like I said, the more that you give your intuition the benefit of the doubt, listen to that gorilla, give that gorilla a little bit more attention, um, then you you'll see it. You'll see it more.
SPEAKER_00True.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I like that you bring up stories because yeah, you even said that recently about my son who's deployed and having a lot of frustrations with the deployment. Um, but yeah, you said he need he just needs a new story.
SPEAKER_03A new story.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03New story for the time that we're in. Yeah. Because, you know, it's not gonna be one of those stories from the 40s, you know, where you can be a hero. Or hero, right? No, it's not gonna happen like that. But, you know, what the stories that you're hearing now are more kind of like brothers taking care of brothers. And so it'll probably be something like that. Yeah, you know. I mean, you would hope. Right. Because and then why do we hope that because we're souls in this thing, and in the end you're gonna die, just like marrying.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_03And um yeah, are you working on all that stuff?
SPEAKER_00Right. Yeah. I do you think signs are always instructions necessarily? Or even asking, like, was this a sign? Or is it just okay, inviting you to notice something, or maybe the energy of it, or the Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Well, I mean, like, have you ever taken mushrooms? Like seriously? Okay. Um There's something about taking mushrooms that you realize that we put all this together. Because once there's something about a certain level, certain amount of mushrooms you take where the way you're experiencing the world, the way you're seeing it and experiencing it just breaks apart. And and so I think But then it's all still there. And it's all still very magical, like more magical than you would even imagine. So maybe there's maybe there's that. Like um we take everything so literally that we forget that there is the magic that happens, and so it's like it's a sight thing. So it's just like these these signs are always there. It's just a matter of if you're gonna check them out or not.
SPEAKER_00Right, right. Mm-hmm. Are you a chronicle or a wave?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah. Are you gonna make that connection? Because it's all there for you to do. Right. It's it's there for you to do. Yeah. Because it because you're here for the ride. You're here for the ride. Yeah.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00What are you gonna make of it?
SPEAKER_03What are you gonna make of it?
SPEAKER_00You could tell a story of terror or excitement or yeah, sadness, whatever.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, how do you honor among thieves? People are doing that a lot now, right? And is there anything wrong with it? I don't think so. I mean, it's just what is, right?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Yeah. Who was it? Somebody that I was listening to recently. I can't remember. Anyway, um, but he said, you know, stop saying my life, my life, my life. And he's like, This is just life. So yeah, can you let go of try again? I think that that my life implies, okay, it's mine and I must control it. And versus this is life and letting it flow.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. It's just part of a story. And it doesn't make you anything. Yeah. Good or bad.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_03Or anything.
SPEAKER_00Right. Yeah, I think again, it's uh yeah, noticing without forcing. Um yeah, observing without judgment, which is hard. We all want to to to judge and ascribe meaning and figure it out, but sometimes just observing and noticing it, you know. Okay, what happened? Okay, what did it awaken or illuminate within me? You know, and then then maybe is there a grounded action that I'm willing to take after maybe that observation? Yeah, which maybe there is, and maybe there is not, or maybe choosing not to act is also a choice.
SPEAKER_03Well, you know, I thought about that too. I was thinking about people who read a lot of books. Because, you know, sometimes we don't want to act out certain things, and that's why we read books.
SPEAKER_00Right. Yeah, or yeah, watch certain shows, or yeah.
SPEAKER_03Because we know we don't want to actually do whatever, but we do want to know about it or whatever.
SPEAKER_00Well, it's like that TV show beef that you know, I'm saying that the characters are despicable, but you're like, Yes, like I don't know, you're just watching it because you're like, how does this play out? Like people who behave in this way.
SPEAKER_03Can you see yourself in that?
SPEAKER_00Sure, maybe a shadow side of me, I I guess.
SPEAKER_03Right. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, I don't know. I think I think it is uh based on your journey. Yeah, it has to be based on your journey because yeah, there's some people who who do really well staying in their hometowns and doing the family thing and going to church every Sunday, and you know, um, yeah, there's there was there were some couples like that in Burls. And I I used to remember, I think I was probably envious of them. If I look back and if I was being honest about how I was feeling, how they were, I was probably just envious. Because I think that the, you know, like um that prosperity gospel, how they always say that if you're really good in with God, you'll be blessed with all that stuff and all that. And so in the beginning, when I was younger, I would see them or people like them and be like, oh, okay, so yeah, I guess I I guess I am a heathen. I guess I need to get better or whatever. But you know, it all starts with the the journey starts with one step, man. You better figure out for yourself how it's all gonna go. Because part of it's work, what you do, your vocation, part of it's your spouse, your relationships, how you who you choose to continue relationships with and how you have those relationships and all that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah. And you even your own stories about yourself.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah. The stories, what you consider signs and everything. Yeah, colors your world, right? Yes, it's for your benefit.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So maybe look at synchronicities again, not as like, okay, this is what it's telling me to do, but okay, what is it helping me to see again about this situation or myself?
SPEAKER_03I like that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I do like that. Because that's what happened in Jung's case, right? With the scarab.
SPEAKER_00Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_03Was helping them, a client.
SPEAKER_01Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_00And I'll link that video. Yeah, we should. And yeah, in the description because it was really good.
SPEAKER_01Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So maybe the the purpose of synchronicity, it's not to prove that the universe is sending us messages, or maybe it's to wake us up from just living on autopilot. I like that. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I could live with that. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Just to recognize life does contain more mystery and relationship and yeah, and meaning. But yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, we should put a link to the selective uh awareness.
SPEAKER_00The video. I will. I'll do that. Yeah. I wrote a note to do that actually. So whatever you're facing this week.
SPEAKER_03Oh, what am I supposed to say? Oh, that's right. Don't rush to change it. First, see what's here.
