SPEAKER_00

Hello everyone, my name is Christopher Liam Rose. I'm an author, mentor, life coach, motivational speaker, evangelist, musician, and activist. Today we're going to be sharing my gratitude journal for the 15th of the 7th, 2026. I'm just going to be sharing my thoughts, my feelings and emotions, and how my day's been today. So um today I had work, so I worked between 9 o'clock and I think it was 3 o'clock today. So I didn't do the full uh 9 to 5 shift today because I had a yoga class that I had to attend, so I only worked up until 9 to 3 o'clock. Um obviously as a Pittsport coordinator, I normally have to work within the offices, so normally I work in Jubilee Health Centre, um, in part of the Sutton IRH teams as a Pittsport coordinator, supporting the Pittsport workers, the care of Pittsport workers, um, the clients and the carers and also the team managers, the team leaders, the colleagues and the team. So I was in the office today between 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock. Um I think I woke up late today because um yeah, I think I did wake up late today, so I was a little bit late to work, even though um I still managed to get into the office um which was fine. So sometimes I have been uh waking up a bit late in the morning because um I find it difficult to wake up early in the morning, so it has been a bit of a struggle that I've been trying to deal with, but um you know um I will improve it and I will start waking up in the morning on time and focusing on what I need to do throughout the day. Um also as well um I've created a new album, so I've been working on a whole new album today. Um so I've just been spending some time working on it. Um this is just a whole new album that I've been creating. So this album is called God's Purpose, and um the reason why I wanted to create this album is because I believe I'm doing God's purpose, and um you know, especially in my work and especially in what I do, you know, I'm trying to fulfill God's purpose for my life, and I feel especially when it comes to the spiritual music that I create, um, I need to keep moving forward of what um God is calling me to do. So through the spiritual music that I create, um I'm trying to fulfill God's purpose for my own life, which is very important for me, and the spiritual music is a way for me to you know fulfill my calling and do what the Lord has called me to do. So I think I created six tracks today. So I'm just gonna read out the tracks that I created today. Um so I think this is all on my commute to work and also on the trains and the um the buses as well. So I've just been creating new music as I've been um you know going to work and going to my yoga class. So I created uh six tracks today. So these are beats and instrumentals. So number one, God's Purpose, which is the title of the new album, number two, God's Work, Number three, Faith, Spirituality, Fate and Religion, Number four, the know self, selfishness and know thyself, number five, spiritually helping other people, number six, spiritual ministries, spiritual spiritual monasteries. So these were the six tracks that I created for the God's purpose album. Um I will be working on the album in the next few days, so hopefully I can complete it and um eventually release it online on DistroKid and Internet Archive and share the album. Um, you know, all my music is spiritual, and I try to have that spiritual essence, that spiritual side to my music so important. Um today I um I topped up my pension, so I have two pension counts at the moment that I've been topping up regularly every single day. So normally I put in a little bit of money every day towards my pension, so I topped up £12.50 um which is tack with tax relief on my pension B pension, so I did that today, and the total value is 2,664.83 pence, which is slowly increasing. I topped up £17.50 on the tax relief on my SEP pension Ava today, and the total value is um £810.14 pence, so that's increasing as well. So I try to you know top up um just a small amount of money every single day to my pensions and just make sure I stay in the habit of doing that, it's so important. So I'm trying my best to make it into a daily habit and just whenever I have the opportunity or wherever I get the time, just put in money into those pensions, so that's important. Um I attended the dye meeting today, um, which I normally attend every day between 12 and um 12 30, so that was okay. Um I wrote some spiritual life lessons. I think I was at work or on the train when I wrote my spiritual life lessons, so I always try to write spiritual life lessons that I learned throughout the day, and that helps with my journal writing, and also just my learning and development as well, and my understanding, also. So um, spiritual life lesson number one the future is created by your spiritual actions and spiritual intentions, so that's what creates your spirit your future, your spiritual actions and your spiritual intentions. Number two, moving forward is the goal, your spiritual vision. So, my spiritual vision is to help other people do spiritual music and live in faith and spirituality. So moving forward is the goal, and I'm working towards that spiritual vision. Um spiritual life lesson number three. God's purpose is for you to create things of meaning and value. So in my life, I'm trying to create things of meaning and value to fulfill God's purpose for my life, and that's what I focus on most of the time. Number four, spiritual life lesson. Self-development is spiritual learning. So I believe the more self-development you do, is the more spiritual learning you do. Um number five of the spiritual life lessons, you can only move forward in life, that's that is destiny. So it's quite true actually, you can only move forward in life, that is destiny. So that's just the destiny of life, it's always moving forward. So you have to sort of just appreciate that and move forward. Um, spiritual life for that so let me just count one two spiritual life lesson number six. So you need to live the spiritual legacy now. So this is something I've been learning a lot about, you know, spiritual legacy now is so important, and you have to live it now, so it's so important. Number I think from number seven, so mindfulness is a spiritual is the spiritual present moment. So mindfulness is a spiritual present moment. When you're mindful, live in the spiritual present moment. Number eight, observe and do not react. Mindful watching, seeing, observation. So observe and do not react. Mindful watching, seeing observation. Um, very important. Number nine, uh, life is created in the now. So I think that all life's creation is in the now, so everything that happens in life happens now, so that's um you know the life creation is in the now so important. Um, today I went to a yoga class for the very first time. Um, I've been slowly reading about yoga for the last couple of days now, and it was just a decision that I wanted to make and a choice that I wanted to make. Um yoga is a very spiritual thing, very therapeutic, and I attended my first yoga class in the London Buddha Centre in Bethnal Green for the first time. So it's the first time I did yoga in a class. Um, you know, I don't normally go to classes or do yoga, um, but um very beneficial. Um I felt when I was doing yoga, I was I actually felt like I was at home. I felt like um I was meant to be there and do that yoga, and that's a really positive thing, especially where um I want to learn more about yoga and understand more about yoga, so it's quite beneficial that I was able to do that today and you know have the opportunity to do my yoga class and practice yoga, so very important. I wrote some spiritual insights of um what I learnt in the yoga class today, and I I will be doing more yoga because I actually find it therapeutic, so I will be doing more yoga. So yoga is spiritual, and that's basically what I learned in the yoga class today. Yoga is spiritual, yoga connects to the mind, body, and spirit, so it connects to your mind, body, and spirit. So when you do yoga, you're practicing, you're exercising, you're doing the poses, and it connects to your mind and body and spirit. Yoga is a spiritual practice daily. So if you wanna learn more about yoga, you do the spiritual practice daily to understand yoga and to to practice yoga. Yoga and meditation is connected. So yoga and meditation is connected. When you do yoga and meditation, you connect to yourself. Yoga helps you to connect to yourself. So when you do yoga, you actually are connecting with yourself, you're connecting to who you are, um, the no-self of who you are, which is very important. Yoga is the spiritual life journey of the no-self. So especially when I was doing yoga today, I felt like I was knowing myself as a human being. I felt like um, especially with the exercises and the poses that I did, I felt like this is me discovering who I am, this is me learning about myself. So that was very um beneficial. Focus on yoga and meditation, um, something I've I've definitely learned to focus on yoga and meditation. Um yoga is therapeutic. So basically, after my yoga session today, I felt therapeutic. I felt very happy and joyful because it was it was such a amazing experience. Yoga keeps you in the spiritual present moment. So yoga focuses on the spiritual present moment, so it keeps you focused on the present moment which is now. Yoga is healing, find seek search, know thyself. So yoga is healing, find, seek, search, know thyself. So when you do yoga, you have to find, seek, search, know thyself. So know who you are through the yoga you practice. So it takes a bit of time, takes a bit of patience, but it is possible. Make time for yoga, meditation, and prayer. So I think that becomes so important to make time for yoga, meditation, and prayer. I think um at before I was saying there were like five spiritual practices, then I realized there were six spiritual practices, and now I think there's seven spiritual practices. So the seven spiritual practices are prayer, meditation, mindfulness, walking, journaling, silence, and yoga. The only reason why I can say there's seven spiritual practices because I did the yoga today, and that's what made me actually learnt about the seven spiritual practices. So, prayer, meditation, mindfulness, walking, journaling, silence, and yoga. So, seven spiritual practices. I think for me, if I keep practicing the seven spiritual practices, then I know more of myself, I discover who I am, I find more of what's important to me, and connect to that faith, spirituality, faith, and religion, and also the know-self, selflessness, and know thyself. So it's a it's a real journey to discover that, and I think for me, especially with the seven spiritual practices, that's God, that's the God, that's the purpose of God that they're trying to God's trying to show me to do the seven spiritual practices and just continue to do it. Um you know, you'll learn more as you as you daily practice the seven spiritual practices prayer, meditation, mindfulness, walking, journaling, silence, and yoga. So just do the seven spiritual practices, very important. So, those are some of the insights that I had from my yoga session today. Um, very important insights, and um, I definitely want to do yoga more and find the time for it. Sometimes, especially when something's important to you, you make the commitment out of your day to do it, and um, you know, that that's very important, you know. If you don't sort of make the commitment to do it, then you'll it'll never get done in your day. So I've always said um, like whatever's important to you, make the time to do it. If it's yoga, if it's meditation, if it's prayer, you know, make the time to do it, and that will help you um to just continue to live your day of you know what you're trying to do throughout your day. Um today has been busy today, um, and I've I've tried to get a lot done today, which is okay, I guess, because um some days are like that. I have to do a lot. Um and um today has been quite busy today, and I've managed to do what I needed to do. Um I had a therapy session today with my therapist Caroline. Um, she's from BetterHelp, so I've only just recently started to use BetterHelp. Um normally I am a person that basically wouldn't go to therapy, but um, I needed some support, especially to manage like my mental health, my feelings and emotions, my thoughts, and um just to get some support for my own mental health. Um I had my fourth therapy session at 845 to 945. So um, and um there's a few lessons that I learned from my therapy session today, which I want to share, so just gonna find my notes. Um so these are some of the I've we were talking about overthinking and ruminating thoughts because I I did I did mention that sometimes in the evenings I ruminate and have overthinking thoughts. So um basically um some of my notes that I wrote today about the therapy session, my fourth therapy session, yoga, meditation, mindfulness will help you to connect to yourself through a spiritual practice. I think the spiritual practice always helps to connect to yourself. Overthinking, ruminating thoughts are the subconscious of the mind with past trauma. So normally, with the overthinking, the ruminating thoughts, they are in your subconscious mind based on your past trauma. So your past trauma is making you ruminate and think of negative thoughts. Your past trauma isn't how your life is today, so you know, which is a lot of learning to understand that reframing your past trauma through saying positive affirmations that can help sometimes to you know say positive things, but it's more being mindful, observant, and watching and seeing how your thoughts are and seeing when they ruminate and seeing when you overthink, and just always bring it back to the present moment, and just be mindful of you know your mind and what it's thinking, and the thoughts that are coming into your mind. You are not your thoughts or your ruminating thoughts, so you you basically you you're not your thoughts or your ruminating thoughts. Life is moving forward, your past is not your present moment, so your past is not your present moment. The past may have happened because it's part of your life and part of your journey in living, but life moves f life is moving forward, your past is not your present moment, so your past is not how your life is now. Everything in life changes, move forward with the life changes. So everything in life changes, and you have to move forward with life changes. The no mind comes from yoga and meditation, so the no mind comes from yoga and meditation. The past trauma is not now, so your past trauma is not now. So when you live in the present moment, your past trauma is not now. Negative thoughts come from past trauma, but you are not your past. So whatever happened in the past, it's not in your present moment now. The only thing we can control is the now in the spiritual present moment. That's all we have control over. Um we can't change our past, so that's all we have control over. Focus on what you can control and do not focus on what you cannot control. That's very important. You have to focus on what you can control and to not focus on what you cannot control. Develop your spiritual practices will help you to develop faith, spirituality, faith, and religion. So it goes back to what I said the seven spiritual practices prayer, meditation, mindfulness, walking, journaling, silence, yoga. The seven spiritual practices. Moving forward is God's purpose for your life. So do not keep so do not give up, keep pushing through, moving forward. So I think in my life, for me, it's moving forward is God's purpose for my life. So do not give up on what God's trying to do for you. Keep pushing through moving forward. Your mind keeps you in worry and anxiety for survival. But moving forward is is is about Learn and understand and life changes. So the mind stays worrying in anxiety because of survival, because it's part of the natural human brain to focus on survival for you to have your life. But um moving forward is learning and understanding that life changes, so it's more about how you change with life. So move forward with life and how you change with life. If you move forward and change with life, then life will move forward and change with you. So it it it works in harmony. You have to move forward, learn and understand as the life changes, it's always changing. When you move forward, you learn about life and how it's changing. Adapt to life changes, move forward. Um, that's an important one. You have to adapt to life changes and move forward. If you don't adapt to life changes and moving forward, then you stay in the past, and there's no past in the present moment because the past you lived it at a certain point in your lifetime, but it's not how your present moment is now. Um, the past is gone, move forward now through spiritual practices. So the past is gone, um, move forward now through spiritual practices. So you can only move forward through spiritual practices, so that's very important. So, like I mentioned, the seven spiritual practices prayer, meditation, mindfulness, walking, journaling, and yoga. The only the only reason why I'm saying yoga is the seventh is because I practice it today and it's part of my learning and understanding. So now there's seven spiritual practices. There used to be six, now there's seven. Moving forward is God's purpose for you, so you need to stay focused. Very true, very important. The mind will always change, and thoughts and feelings and emotions will fade away, but stay focused on moving forward. So that's part of adapting to life and changing with life's changes. So your thoughts and your feelings and emotions will always change, they'll always fade away. Like, normally, what um gets people anxious and sort of ruminating is because they they're thinking their thoughts and feelings and emotions are always gonna be like that. But say, for example, when you take a walk, or when you have a bath or a shower, or when you cook, or when you um you know you do set up things for yourself, you know, it will change, and then you'll slowly start living in the present moment, so it's always changing. Um not focus on past trauma because you cannot do anything to change it. All you can do is move forward now. Um, hard lesson, but important lesson. Remember where you've come from and remember that you can move forward. Very important. Learn and understanding every day from spiritual life experiences. You have to learn and understand every day from spiritual life experiences. Rome wasn't built in a day. Patience and time is the key to spiritual growth. So Rome wasn't built in a day. Patience and time is the key to spiritual growth. It takes time to spiritually grow. You cannot you can only move forward that is spiritual progression. So you can only move forward, that is spiritual progression. The known mind is the spiritual awakening. You are not your past trauma. So the no mind, you have no thoughts, feelings, and emotions that's gonna affect you moving forward. Live now, move forward. Change is a part of life, move forward with life changes. You cannot change the past, you can only affect the present, you cannot predict the future. I think I made an actual album talking about that actually, and I'm just later again today for the second time. You cannot change your past, you can only affect the present, you cannot predict the future. So the past can't be changed. You can only affect the present because we're always living in the present moment. You cannot predict the future, you don't know how your future is gonna be. But moving forward is a step-by-step process, so it's a step-by-step process in moving forward. You can't change your past, yeah, it can affect the present which is now, you can't predict the future, no one knows what the future is gonna be. So moving forward is a step-by-step process. You are destined destiny to fulfill God's purpose, stay focused and keep going. So that's important. Your response is more important than your actions. How you respond makes all the difference. So your response is more important than your actions. How you respond makes all the difference. So your response is more important than your actions. Sometimes, especially with uh this is something I'm learning myself as well, especially with overthinking and ruminating. We don't realize that our mind is um creating um negative thoughts that's gonna lead to negative actions. But when you just observe and watch the mind and see the thoughts for itself, don't react to it, don't try to um like try to you know change it anyway, just like observe it, observe what your mind's thinking, and just look at it, just observe it and look at it, and realize your response is more important than the action. Normally, when people have negative thoughts and overthinking, they react in certain ways, so they become undepressive, unhappy, sad, and you just go through that reaction phase. But when your response is different depending on how you view it, that makes all the difference. Make a choice and a decision to move forward without looking back. Difficult one but very true. Spiritual practices is the beginning of faith, spirituality, faith, and religion. So spiritual practices is the beginning of faith, spirituality, and religion. So the more spiritual practices you do, the more you find faith, spirituality, faith, and religion. But for each human being it will be different for them because they'll find different spiritual practices on their path. For me, I've just mentioned the seven spiritual practices: prayer, meditation, mindfulness, walking, journaling, silence, and yoga. Before there were five, before there was six, and now there's seven. So I think you know it's always gonna increase as well, you know, with the spiritual practices because you're learning more as you're developing your own spiritual practices. So develop a spiritual practice that begins faith, spirituality, faith, and religion so important. And um, you know, these are some of my learnings from a therapy session today. And the reason why normally when I well, before when I used to have therapy sessions, I would never record what I learned because back then it was different and times were different back then. But I would recommend to anybody that's going through therapy, especially if you're having a lot of therapy for your mental health and your well-being, just get a piece of paper and write down some of the things you've learned in your therapy, and then say, for example, if you need to reflect on it, um, look through it and and learn things from what you've learned, you've always got that recording of the things that you've learned through your therapy, and then that can help you in all aspects of your life. So um I think it's just a habit you can get into, you know, especially if you're going through therapy, and um it is about moving forward, especially when you're having therapy as well, in your own way and in your own time, and with that slight patience of it. And those were my insights from a therapy session. Um, you know, I had I always make insights from my therapy sessions these days, it's quite important. Um so basically, you know, um today has to today has been a good day. Obviously, now I'm feeling a bit um spiritual, which is fine. I think um I do get those days where you know I have to sort of reflect more and um just like learn as I'm going and try to you know basically find things that I find important and meaningful for me, especially when you go through your spiritual days. Um I think for me, you know, my gratitude is always the same thing. Um, you know, I'm always grateful for a lot of things, you know, and I'm very grateful for how my life is now. You know, it's it's very spiritual. Um, able to do what I can not just for myself but for others also, and um I feel like I'm living what God's purpose is for me, helping other people, the spiritual music, faith and spirituality. So my real appreciations and gratitudes are always the same thing, you know, and it's my relationship with Jehovah, Jesus Christ, and Buddha, um, which I've developed in my own way through my faith, spirituality, faith and religion, is the people that have actually got me on this path in my life because I wasn't planning to do spiritual music or help other people or live in faith and spirituality. So the people that have got actually got me to this type of living, um you know, Paul Dorenton, Doctor Karen Mitchigan, Doug He and Mills, and Christian Naughty. So um I think sometimes you always gotta appreciate your spiritual heroes for putting you on the journey. Um, you know, Paul Dorenton, Dr. Karen Mitchigan, Christian Norty, and Doug Hein Mills. And um I always be grateful for the people to that put me on this path because I I wasn't planning it, you know, I wasn't I wasn't planning to help other people, do spiritual music or live in faith and spirituality, so I think it's just that appreciation, you know. I'm very grateful and um you know um it means a lot to me, it really does. Um and um also as well I'm learning as well that for me I I used to think like um like why why do I focus my life more on just moving forward, even though you know life is always gonna have its ups and downs, and I realize that you know everything that happens in your life happens for a reason, right? So there's nothing in life that doesn't happen for a reason, it could be the small things or the massive changes, right? So everything in life happens for a reason, right? And I think from what I've learned in my time, and I'm still learning it today, and it takes more for me to learn than just like it's it's it's actually a learning that I have to do daily, right? And this is the learning that even I have to do daily, and I'm not I'm not perfect with this because I I still have my ups and downs myself, and I still have days when I might I might find it difficult. But the learning that I've learned and understood in my just my understanding of not just my gratitude journals, but just in most aspects of my life is that sometimes people say it's it's but with life, it's about like they'll normally say I just want to share this at the very end. They'll normally say like it's who you become in life, right? So the person you become in life makes all the difference. I think I've got a different point of view with that, and I'm not saying that you can't become who you want to be, so I'm not trying to dishearten people from going on that path of becoming someone they want to be, because that's natural part of living as a natural part of life. So for me, I'm not saying um don't become who you want to be. So it could be a dream, it could be a desire, it could be an ambition, it could be a motivation, it could be encouragement, it could be something that's very important to you, which is always important for human beings. I think the slight lesson that I've learned on um just my journey and on my path is about how you respond. So it's not about necessarily um you know who you become, and that could be different for different people for many different reasons, and becoming successful, and becoming wealthy, and becoming um prosperous, I'm living my dreams and desires, I'm very successful, and very wealthy, and very prosperous, I'm rich, I'm so in that aspect of things, most people will have that motivation to become something, right? Which is fine, even for me, I I still have some part of my life that wants to become something, I think it's natural, right? But a slight difference of what I've learned on my journey, especially in my podcasts and my audio that I've shared. Sometimes it's not about the ambition, and sometimes it's not about the materialism. Now, I'm not saying you can't become who you want to be, whatever that is for the individual and for the human beings, of course. Like I said, it's a natural part of life. My slight difference is the ambition side of things and the materialism side of things. I've said this before in previous podcasts and audience before. Now, people say I have an ambition. Okay, you have an ambition, fine. People say I want materialistic things, you want materialistic things, okay. That's fine. I don't I don't have a problem with ambition, and I don't have a problem with materialistic things if that's part of your way of living. What I'm trying to get across is this it's not you becoming something to achieve ambition and materialism, right? So that try try try to get out of your mindset. Try to get out of your mindset, yeah. So it's not it's not your ambition to try to become something and achieve something in ambition and materialistic things. Try and get out of your mind if you get that uh and I know it's it's gonna be difficult for human beings to do this because it could take quite a lot of years um to actually re-discover this within your life, but it could take a few years to read discover it. Don't be ambitious and don't chase materialism, which I've always called the first parts of learning yourself. Don't be ambitious, don't chase materialism. When you don't have ambition to become something, and when you don't chase materialism, what does that give you? It gives you the no mind. What is the no mind? Know thyself. What is the know thyself? The no self, selflessness, and know thyself. So you're not ambitious to become something, you're not ambitious to chase materialism, and then slowly after that you start to be mindful of how you respond. People say life is about who you become. To some people, okay, that that's the aspiration, that's the motivation. Not for me, and it's I'm not like that. I don't live like that. The the slight difference of what I'm saying is how you respond. So if life is I'll put it to you this way if um if life is life is moving forward, so life is always moving forward, right? So there's always parts of life that is moving forward, which is just part of life itself, yeah. So it's fine. If life is gonna move forward because it's just life itself, then you have to find within your life what's important to you. Import in things that okay, I put it to you this way things that are important to you, it's not ambitious things. Things that are important to you are not materialistic things, it could be the most simplest things that are very important to you. What what you do when you're not chasing ambition, and what you do when you're not chasing materialism. Those small things can be more important than any significant things that happen to your life. Now, people go on the path of ambition and materialistic things, and I'm not saying it's a right way to live or a wrong way to live. I'm not the judge if it's a right way to live or a wrong way to live, because I'm not, no human being is. My slight difference is your response to your life experiences. So, how you how you're going to respond? Your response makes your life experience. Say, for example, if and this is this is where you have it changed, it changes a lot of people once you've noticed this. If you if you've had say, for example, if you've had um like okay, say for example, if you became wealthy, rich, and successful and prosperous, and you had that finances, the fortune, the fame, the money, the materialism, the riches, the wealth, the finances, the income, say you actually achieved that within your life, but then you didn't you didn't focus on what's very important to you, right? And it's gonna be different for all hum all human beings have a different focus. If you lose the fame, if you lose the fortune, if you lose the wealth, if you lose the prosperity, if you lose the success, the only thing that's gonna happen, you're gonna find what's important to you. So, I'm not saying, um, for example, you can't hmm become successful. If you want to become successful, that's completely fine, and I have no problems with that. It's the ambition that leads to a lot of situations in life. I'm not gonna go too into it into this podcast and audio because it'll take too much time. It's the ambition that leads to a lot of situations in life when you have ambition, like I said previously before in other podcasts and audios, the ambition leads to materialism. So, for example, um, for human beings, because they they don't they don't know how important this is, they focus their life on ambition and materialism, yeah. And um when you focus your life on ambition and materialism it it makes you live a certain pattern. For some people it could be a bit different from that. It could be like um for everyone it'll be a different a different motivation for them. For some people it could be a relationship, for example, it could be a family, for example, it could be there's loads of loads it's a very like life is very complex there's there's loads of different things that sort of can distract people right so from what I've learned in not just therapy but also in my actual life experiences focus on your response focus on just your response if for example um things come into your life still focus on your response because people people get attached to certain things and I'm I'll I'll put this briefly at the end right people get attached to certain things when they get attached to certain things whatever it could be for those people like I said it if life is very complex it's not it's not a very simple thing to find the attachment I think the Buddha was mentioning it in his scriptures and I think Jesus Christ was mentioned it the attachments of what people normally live their life with the attachments of it is always it's good for every human being it'll be a different thing the attachments um I don't want to go too deep into specific attachments there's there's like hundreds and millions of attachments people can be attached to you have an you have to live your life where you're not attached where you you're um you you don't have an ambition you you're not you're not materialistic though those things don't bother you right and then I think this is what changes a lot of things once you've learned this when you're when you're not when you're not ambitious and when you don't have materialism that gives you the opportunity to have more within your life so I repeat it again because it's so important when you're not ambitious and you don't have materialism that gives you the opportunity to achieve more in your life more than what you can actually think about there normally is a saying that the Lord um said within the scriptures within the Bible Bible if I'm not mistaken the peace that passes understanding so the peace that passes understanding is when you know yourself it's there's a peace to it so you're not attached with what you achieve you're not attached with your accomplishments you're not attached with what you receive you you're not ambitious you don't want materialism there's a peace that passes understanding that peace that passes understanding is knowing thyself knowing thyself changes your life how do you know thyself which is the question I've explained this before briefly because I'm just mindful of time knowing thyself is this is a very simple way of knowing thyself and I think you have to get to that point where you don't have ambition you don't chase materialism to find this in your life and what what what is what what can you find it's this and it's simple it's very simple but it's achieved it's achievable for some people the know self selflessness and know thyself comes to those people who go through a spiritual change within the psyche and the psychological mind only when you go through a spiritual change with the psyche and psychological mind can you know thyself so people say a spiritual change within the psyche and a psychological mind um okay how do you do that so I've mentioned the seven spiritual practices prayer meditation mindfulness walking journaling silence and yoga which is the seventh there was five before there was six now there's seven so there's seven spiritual practices prayer meditation mindfulness walking journaling silence yoga seven spiritual practices what I would encourage is this and this is for my gratitude journal and like I said the only reason why I started to share gratitude journals online specifically was for me to process my learning and my understanding so it's a way for me to process what I learn and understand now if you focus on the seven spiritual practices that will give you the change that you're looking for the change that you're looking for comes with something what does what what does what does the change that you're looking for come with it comes with spiritual enlightenment you know thyself and then it's like when you when you know thyself your life changes only only then your life changes and then instead of living life reacting to every life experience you go through and every like challenge or situation you face you just respond in a different way your response becomes different it takes a long time to get to that point people go but my job and my career my relationships my children my family my parents um my possessions my belongings um my real estate my business my volunteering my employment my career my jobs my work know thyself is a change of yourself which is is it takes a long it could take a long time to get to that point within your life and it is possible it's definitely possible it's it is achievable I'm not for for me to share my gratitude church journals I'm not saying it isn't achievable it is achievable it can be done but just before we finish it's that nature of the ambition that nature of that materialism people say do you do do you have to be religious to learn that and then the question is do you have to be religious to learn that um no you don't have to be religious to know the no self at all you don't have to be religious it's not it's not it's not it's not based on religion what I'm talking about it's based on faith and spirituality faith and spirituality is different from religion I don't want to go I could go into it briefly but it'll just take too much time religion is based on a dom a dumb a dharma of that or a doctrine of that religion so you live your principles and life based on that doctrine of that religion um which is fine which people do people live their life on the doctrine and the dogma of that religion fine that's what people do faith and spirituality is knowing thyself so the faith brings the hope the spiritual spirituality brings the change the hope and the change are humanity um in a harmless way so you you you you you're it's all about your response how you respond to things because your response is what makes your life experiences if it wasn't if it wasn't your response that makes your life experiences then how would you develop who you are it's it's actually your response look and I I don't want to spend too much more time on this before I finish for this evening your response is how your life will change if you change your response so for people and I think I don't want to say this in a rude way I think for people that they don't understand it's the way they respond this happened in my life this is my situation I went through this I had this challenge had these problems this was the circumstances these are my situations this is what I was going through this was my life this is what's going on for me this is what was happening this was the situation these are the circumstances this is what I was experiencing these are my struggles these are my hardships all that can be changed just the way you respond to it and and I know that sounds a bit it sounds very odd for me to say that in this at the ending of this podcast today in this audio but it's just my gratitude journal the way you respond to it makes all the difference so when I say the way you respond to it makes all the difference that's not saying it didn't happen that's not saying you didn't go through what you went through that's not saying you haven't been through what you've been through of course you have of course it did happen of course you went through these life experiences of course this was what happened in your life of course it's it's very true and of course it was but your response to it only only when you learn your response to it that's what can change your life it's it's it changes life once you know how to respond to it people say but I went through this life experiences okay how did you respond to it this was my situation in my life I had this family I had this relationship I had these children I had these possessions I had these holidays I had this employment I had this business I was working in that voluntary opportunity I was doing this how did you respond to it this was a situation in my life I was going through this I had this job and then this happened I had this relationship and then this happened but how did you respond to it so your response makes all the difference not necessarily what happened but your response to it it's your response it's your response to it your response makes all the difference not necessarily what happened but how did you respond to it what and the way I would say and I'm just gonna finish it there the way I would say how do you respond to it is your actions how did those life experiences change your actions how did it change your habits how did it change you what did you learn what did you understand how did you process it how was your response so your response makes all the difference and in life what what gets very tricky in life is that people don't respond differently to the life experiences they've experienced they don't respond differently so I'm not as I say that I'm not I'm not I'm not I'm not saying that like it's a it's easy to just learn it's your response that makes all the difference but it really is your response if you focus don't don't don't don't look at life as like don't look at life as um you know what this happened to me and this is what I went through and oh man I was going through this and look at my challenges don't don't look at life that way because if you look at life that way you're always going to be going through just just a lot of suffering pain and adversity and it'll be a challenge to overcome that so in your life you have to you have to respond differently that's not saying you can't you know if if if ambition and materialistic things is your desire then that's basically your desire that's fine but when you respond differently to your own life experiences and you have to respond differently to your own life experiences don't view it as this happened to me that was a situation this was circumstances that's what I was going through this was my life change your perspective of it and I'm not saying it didn't happen to you I'm not saying it didn't you didn't go through I'm not saying it wasn't challenging I'm not saying it wasn't difficult all you have to do is when you go through those cycles of ruminating it happens to everybody change your response think of it differently think of it what am I learning here how am I growing here what am I understanding hair what is it teaching me here how can I use it how can I find meaning and value from it and change of if you change your perspective of it it changes your response normally they say um they normally say like what you see in your response to what's happened is what you basically understand and learn so say for example if you don't see what you've learned from your life experiences then you can't learn and understand how that made you who you are so it's not the life experience itself it's not it's not that that's not that's not the challenge here the challenge is how you gonna how you're gonna respond to it what's your response so for example if if the life experiences do come yeah which is fine happens it it will happen of course that yeah that mindset it's a mindset thing this is is a is a very important mindset how do you change your response to it so it's that that slight it's a it it you it could take a long time to change your perspective of it but that change changes your life not the life experiences you went through not what um just not not not not the life experiences you went through will change your life that's not what's gonna change your life because we all have is your response to what's happened okay I put I'm just gonna put this at the very end and then I'll finish because I can go on for hours and I'm mindful of time when when you change your perspective of your life experiences which takes a long time to get to that point when you change your perspective of your life experiences your life will change because for example like I just want to put this in the podcast in audio changing your perspective changes your life it's not it's not necessarily what's happened to you you know it's not necessary it's not necessarily saying that you know what I didn't go through these things I didn't experience what I experienced the life of change is when you change your perspective so you have to change your perspective that's why I it's only it's only been recently I've been kind of talking about this in my my my music my um podcasts and my books and my videos only recently I've been talking about this and the recent thing is is that if you change your perspective of things your life will change life doesn't change when you don't change your perspective how do you change your perspective practices to change your perspective the spiritual practices will change your perspective when when when when you spend time and doing spiritual practices you're not it's like you're not you're not um should I say you're not like um you're not unhappy to do it you're very happy to do it and it it brings a set of meaning and value to your life so when you do spiritual practices it brings the meaning and value so what what brings the meaning and value is just spiritual practices it's like some some people some people live life without developing that so they they live their life without developing it prayer meditation mindfulness walking journey silence and yoga yoga is only the seventh one which are discovered today so you live the life without discovering the spiritual practices so if you don't have a spiritual practice to change your perspective of things then how the question is how would your life change so I say that just before we finish if you don't have a spiritual practice to change your perspective of things then how would your life change you like you like your life your life ain't gonna change by the actions you do which is something I've I've learned a very long time ago you act yeah your life is not going to change by the actions you do you can't change what's happened in the past right and you can't change what's gonna happen in the future so your actions are not what's gonna change your life it's not it's not necessarily your actions yeah it's it's it's part of it of course if if you've changed but it's not it's not it's not gonna be it's not it's not gonna be everything that changes your perspective of things your mind has to change and if your mind doesn't change then how do you how do you expect to change if your mind doesn't change I'm not saying you can't become who you want to be like I said earlier it's fine if you want to or not I I'm I'm not the judge of that I'm I'm just me I'm just a human but if you change your perspective of things then your response changes and I think in life it's really about your response because the response is what makes your life experience if you have a happier response or a negative response or a positive response or a good response or a bad response it's normally the response that reflects your living so your response reflects your living if your response changes within your living then your living changes and if your response changes then your life changes so the hard thing is it it it I maybe at some point I should write a book about this one I should actually I should actually try and make the time to write a book if I get an opportunity I don't know if I'm gonna get an opportunity but I'm just putting it out there not your life experiences but your response to your life experiences so it's not necessarily your life experiences it's your response to your life experiences the response reflects the living of how you live daily so your response reflects your living say for example if you uh just just one more thing before we finish because I can spend longer say for example if you're depressed and unhappy because life hasn't gone the way you thought it should go okay fine we appreciate it it's tough it's challenging of course yes it is but your response can change your life how are you gonna rephrase the response of it how you Gonna change the response of it? How are you gonna um like change the response of that life experience? The hard thing is is that people say, but that happened in my life. I'm not saying it didn't. That's not what I'm trying to say. I always say when I share my podcast and my audios, I'm not saying to people you haven't gone through this in your life. I'm I'm definitely not saying that. Whatever it is, it could be I don't know, it's different for all human beings, of course. I'm not I'm not saying you haven't. I'm not saying you haven't I'm not saying you haven't gone through what you went through, I'm not saying you haven't experienced what you've experienced, I'm not saying that you haven't you haven't gone through what you've gone through. You probably have, of course, and and that's that that's that's your life, isn't it? Well I'm basically saying at the end of my gratitude journal for today is this your response has to change. The response is what makes your life experience. So when I say I think I made an album about this recently, actually. I actually made an album about it recently a couple of I think a couple of months ago now it's been focus on what you can control, do not focus on what you cannot control, focus on what you can control, do not focus on what you cannot control. Your response is the only thing you can control. I repeat it again. Your response is the only thing you can control. For example, if life has been tough, challenging for you, which happens for all human beings, to some human beings anyway. Some some some human beings get the fortune and the fame. Of course, it's it's different for all human beings. There's nothing external that you can control. So you can't control family, can't control friends, can't control work, can't control careers, can't control business, can't control volunteering, can't control customers within your business, can't control um daily living of just human beings. You can't control that. When it comes to negative thoughts, for example, you may not be able to control the thoughts that you have in your mind because it's an external thing. The thoughts are external, it comes from external, it's not internal, it comes from external. The way you view the world, for example, the way you're ex the way you experience your life experiences within the world, the way you um Um process information and that sort of thing, so it's all external. The only thing you really can control is your response to it. You can't control it's like you can't control what other people do. You can only you can only control your response to it. That's all you can control. If you feel like it's it's just been too much, you know. Um it's just challenging. Um there's so much there's so much that I have no control over. There's something in life that I learned before we finish. This will be the last thing before I end today because I can go on for hours. All human beings are the ones that create the life experience. You can't control the external things of life. So, for example, nature, family, um, friends, work, career, jobs, employment, business, volunteering, even down to religious things, so church, um, ministries, monasteries, work, um, even down to simple things cars, motorbikes, clothes, possessions. You can't control that, it's all external. But the one thing that I think Jesus Christ and Buddha was teaching us, and especially in in this is just in natural ways, right? The salvation comes from the internal development. So the salvation and the dharma comes from the internal development, the internal. You you you you can go through whatever life experience you can go through, yeah. You cannot control that because it's the external, you can't control it. It's not as it it it wasn't it it wasn't based on you to control, yeah. You you can't I'm sorry. I'm sorry, I know that might sound a bit like deep, and I know it sounds deep, it's very deep. It's very it's very serious, it really is. You can only respond to the internal, so how how do you view it? So the external has happened, your life experiences have happened, you have gone through what you've gone through. Of course, it's it's is it it's true, it's true. That is true, yes. We we believe it's true, and it's true in our lives, of course. How are you gonna respond to it? That makes all the difference in life, it's your response, it makes all the difference in life, and I said in just before we finish, because I can go on, your spiritual um response will change your life experiences. Most things in life change the way we respond to it. How how how do how do we respond to the life experiences we see? I said earlier within the podcast and audio as well, which I said very carefully, I I try to say it. You can't see something that you don't anticipate, and you can't see something that you don't um what's the word for observe. So when you observe, when you see, anticipate, when you watch, when you're mindful, when you focus on what you can see. The external things are gonna happen the people, the friends, the family, the work, the career, the employment, the jobs, the businesses, the volunteering, the cars, the money, the houses, the possessions, the friends, the family. It's also external, you can't control that. When you flip that, that's this is what I'm trying to get that. When you flip it, when you when you change your perspective of things, don't worry about anything external. That's the secret. Only focus on what's internal. That's the secret. Don't worry about anything the the the question the what the world whether is this, the world whether is this. I'm gonna finish after this point. Don't worry about anything that isn't a part of you within your own life. So anything that isn't a part of you within your own life, don't worry about it. Don't worry about family because they're external things, don't worry about friends because they're external things, don't worry about jobs because external things, don't worry about business because it's an external thing, don't worry about careers because it's an external thing, don't worry about cars because it's an external thing, don't worry about money because it's an external thing, don't worry about food and drinks because it's an external thing. Don't don't don't don't don't spend your time worrying about anything external. Uh even go even goes down to what I said earlier when I say the ambition and materialism, it's all external, it's external. The only thing you can control is the internal, who you are. That's all you can control. All human beings have it inside of them to control who they are, and it's not control where it's like self-control, that's not what I'm talking about. I mean your response. Life life is living, yeah. It's it's living, yeah. So it goes back to what I said previously on another podcast before we finish. You you don't know how your life experiences are gonna be. You don't know, no human being does. And if someone says they know how their life experiences gonna be, you don't. There is no human being that does. So that's all most of the time with life experiences all external things. I was successful, I was wealthy, I was rich, I was this, I was that. It's it's external, it's not the internal development, the the change, the internal development, the change, the internal development, the t change, the internal development, the change, the internal development, the change, the internal development, the change. It wasn't the internal development. Who you are so I could have gone on for hours today and sh I've actually spent longer than I thought I was gonna spend, but um change the internal change the external the eternal means a no mind, no mind means the no self, selflessness and no death self. It goes back to what I said just before we finish. Your life experiences is a reflection of things that you have no control over. Your life I'll repeat again, your life experiences is things that happen that you have no control over. There's no point of spending your time worrying about things that you have no control over. It goes back to what I said, you don't know how your life experiences are gonna be. So focus on the internal development, focus on focus on like just like your response, and if you focus on your response, whatever external things comes into your life, whatever people say, you've got that response to it. You're not you're not it go it it's a simple this is what the change is. I'll tell you what the changes is this don't react, just observe. Don't react, just don't respond to it. Don't be attached to it and don't react to it. That change. I could have gone longer, but mindful of time. Um I I'm I'm grateful, I'm grateful, and um yeah, thank you now. Um this is a long one and thank you now. Bye bye, thanks.
