Welcome back to In a Plothole. Episode six. Six-ishish. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I'm like trying to remember what episode we're on.
SPEAKER_00We're on episode six. Welcome to the party. Welcome to the party. I just drank a Dr. Pepper. As per usual. Can you tell we're actually together and not on separate? I think we're gonna try to do this more often. More together.
SPEAKER_01More together than separate. But I want you guys to you guys should try guessing whether or not we're together or not.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, guess when if we're to guess when we're together. It Dylan says he can tell when we're not together because of the lag on Discord. It cuts us off more. So it sounds like we're interrupting each other more often than we actually do. But we do it anyway, so it doesn't really matter. Yeah. So anyway. What are you drinking?
SPEAKER_01I don't have anything right now. I have like the hair bit left of Dr.
SPEAKER_00Pepper. But we did have Dr. Pepper with lunch, so I think that counts. Yeah, that counts. Energized. Energized. Dr. Pepper and Dance Moms. That's what we were doing. And while our dogs were having a play date. Play date with the puppies. Alright. What's your hi? Oh yeah. Hi Antelope. Hi Antelope. I forgot how to do this. It hasn't been that long.
SPEAKER_01It hasn't been that long, but we have had a very, very, very, very long couple of weeks. Yeah, it's been a busy, busy June. Busy June for both of us. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00You know what's crazy? I've been at my new job for almost a month now. Isn't that crazy? That is crazy. It's been a long month.
SPEAKER_01It hasn't felt like that.
SPEAKER_00No, yeah. Um, so my hi. My store's finally officially opening, thank god. Yay. Um, so I still don't yeah. So that's opening. Um but just been spending more time with people. Now that you have the time. Now that I have some more time and I'm not driving for so long. Um but that's been my high. What's been your high?
SPEAKER_01Um, my high for today. Today. Today, today, June, June, June, was probably taking the boys to the dog park. The puppy park. That was really fun. Puppy played. We met some really cute dogs. Yeah. Really nice owners.
SPEAKER_00Shout out to Abby. She was the sweetest little old lady Labrador ever. She was scared of people. She was scared of people, but she loved our dogs. She did.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. And the boys had fun at the park, and then they continued to play when they get home. So that was fun. What is your low? My low.
SPEAKER_00I don't really have a low.
SPEAKER_01That's good.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Just kind of coast it.
SPEAKER_01Going with the flow.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. There's hasn't been anything like I have a couple lows.
SPEAKER_01That oh no. They're not, I guess they're not like horribly bad, but they're just really incredible.
SPEAKER_00If I had to like say something though, I feel like like I've been in my head, like, but that like your nail. Oh yeah, my nail popped off, but five minutes ago. Let's nail it.
SPEAKER_01Um Victoria listens to this. She's gonna like that. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Um our nail tech, by the way. Um, but um like I had a really like in my head kind of couple days before where I just kind of wanted to like be alone and just sit in my house.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that that um it's kind of how I've been the past couple days, and I you knew that because I called you about it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Life be life in.
SPEAKER_01Life be life in right now.
SPEAKER_00I call I told someone who said life be annoying in life. So yeah. But Milo, so I have a couple. I thought you just said like Milo, like like Milo and Otis. I was like, who's Milo?
SPEAKER_01Isaac has a friend named Milo, but that's really about it. Oh yeah. Um so my car broke down three separate times this week. It's fine, it's got fixed. But first I popped my tire, and then my battery died like two times, so that was fun. And then I dropped my phone, which is also fun, so now my phone's not quite working, and I can't get it switched in yet. So yeah, that's kind of what's happened in my life. That's really about it. Other than that, I'm pretty boring. So okay. Now I have a question for you. Yes. What's a song that you have been listening to repeat on for the past week? Do you have a song hyperfixation right now?
SPEAKER_00Song hyperfixation.
SPEAKER_01I can tell you mine if that helps. Yeah, you start. Okay. So mine has been um let me look at it real quick. It is um For Whom the Bells Toll by Metallica. Oh yes. I love that song. It's awesome. I will full blast it in my car with the windows down. It is the best song ever.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Mine.
SPEAKER_01Um is it sap?
SPEAKER_00Kind of. It's uh, it might be Willing and April by Noah Kong.
SPEAKER_01Oh, Willing and April is like, oh my god.
SPEAKER_00Um any of the songs from that, like that whole album, he described so he was on a late night show and he described that album. He said, if you're sad and it's raining out, the album is for you. But it's just a really good album.
SPEAKER_01He was in our town and we didn't get to go.
SPEAKER_00I have major I had major FOMO from that.
SPEAKER_01Major FOMO. Because he was in Orlando and we weren't able to go. I think we had a prior prior things to do.
SPEAKER_00No, it was just expensive.
SPEAKER_01Oh, it wasn't.
SPEAKER_00It was we lost the we've we lost the nawar of the pre-sale tickets. Yeah. And then everything was just like over $400 for like nosebleeds.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so don't pay that much for that. Probably because the scalpers got to it. Meow. The scalpers, by the way. Meow. Yeah, there's the meow for the daily meow. Every time I go back and re-listen to it once he's edited it, it's so much funnier with the meows in it. It's hysterical. I will literally be sitting at work steaming and listening to the podcast, and I'll just hear meow. It's just so funny to me. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I want to get a do an intro. I think we gotta include the meow in the intro. Oh, we definitely got to.
SPEAKER_01We have to figure out, we're working on that still. We gotta figure out an intro. I have an idea, but I'll tell you later. Oh. Okay. Okay. So we got a fun episode planned today.
SPEAKER_00Um, we're kind of just gonna do whatever we want on the pod. So we're still book, but we're just gonna do what we want. So Yeah. That's all I'm getting into about it. Yeah. You'll you'll you'll notice kind of what's it's it's gonna just look a little different from here on. Yeah, just heads up. But it's just for us.
SPEAKER_01We got a lot going on.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we got a lot going on, but we still want to bring you stuff. So today I was gonna read Michaela Reddit stories because I like listening to Reddit stories. I'm a Reddit lurker. And I am not. I had to I had to show her what a I had to tell her what a subreddit was. Um but it's fine. It's the Reddit's not for everybody. Understand it's understandable. But I'm a big I listen to a lot of podcasts that listen to Reddit stories. I work on Reddit myself. Um I've I through my lurking, I have found some that were about books specifically. So I thought it'd be funny for me to read them to her. Uh-huh. But I also like was like, oh, what if you try to find some I read some funny ones? And we read books and read some Reddit stories to each other. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So more my Reddit background, I really only go on if I have like a specific question. Like if there's something about like plants or like my dog or like some something of that nature, I'll go on and ask. Or if it's something like my career-wise, but it's not like a um it's not like something I venture off into. Often I just look for answers typically when I go on Reddit, or like pe other people's opinions of a certain thing. So that's what I do.
SPEAKER_00No, I just like to find funny stuff on there. Sometimes you find some bangers on there.
SPEAKER_01I just listen I'll listen to like the people reading the stories, but I won't actually go on and like read them myself. But we do have some funny ones for you today. At least the ones I picked are kind of funny.
SPEAKER_00Do you want to go first?
SPEAKER_01I can go first.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Go first. Hold on, I'm gonna move the mic. Okay. I don't think she can move anymore.
SPEAKER_01Okay, so I'll do my first one. Okay.
SPEAKER_00What is your first one?
SPEAKER_01Okay, my first one is Am I the Asshole for Treating My Friend's Book the Way I Did? Okay.
SPEAKER_00Where's this from? So here, what Reddit, what subreddit is it from?
SPEAKER_01I think this is from the Am I the Asshole. Yeah. Okay.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_01Give it. So, let me start. I, F19, recently completed my second semester at uni. One of the units I took last semester involved a lot of reading and required books. My friend, F19, is someone who enjoys reading. I asked if they had any books I I required and if I could borrow them until I no longer needed them. She is okay with letting me borrow the books. Recently I returned some books back to her and she asked why some of the pages were no longer completely straight. I had mentioned that I had folded the pages when I stopped reading. Sam out of reaction. Let me keep reading. No. No, it's no. Then she went off on me and was super pissed that I treated her books that way. She called me an asshole and had to and had stopped talking to me and has blocked me. Am I the asshole?
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_01Especially if they're not your books.
SPEAKER_00Don't dog ear someone else's books. I think that's what she was saying. She like for folded the corners. Yeah. I don't dog ear my own books.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00But I wouldn't dog ear. If I did, I wouldn't dog ear someone else's. I would ask them, hey, do you have a book? Get a piece of paper.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's not that. It's sort of a bud bark.
SPEAKER_00Sometimes a what? A bookmark? Oh, that's not what you've said. Oh, I don't know if I said that. Um, yeah, there's bookmarks. Um, you can I've used sticky notes. I've used receipts. Yeah. I've used just random pieces of paper. You can use a sticker. Just there's something flat.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. There's two updates, by the way. Oh, there's uh okay. Okay. I was waiting for you to okay. So you okay. Here's update number one. Thank you to those who gave me suggestions and didn't insult me. I appreciate it. At the time, I didn't realize that damage I had caused, though the comments I have realized I messed up it was how messed up it was, and my mind was very boxed in for solutions. I purchased a bookmark, so I ever do have to borrow a sorry, if I ever do have to book loan to me in the future from a library, I can keep it in better condition. I'm communicating with the person who loaned it to me through the book, loaned the book to me through mutual friend. I wanted to make sure that I can get exact vision or different version of the book I damaged. She is cur she currently doesn't want to speak to me directly. Okay. I will say this blocking someone over dog ears is kind of crazy. I don't think I guess it depends on how far she damaged the book. If it's just dog ears, like if you had dog like let's say you dog eared the books and I let you I wouldn't not talk to you for that reason.
SPEAKER_00I think what it is, it's not because here's the thing with Reddit. This is the thing you will learn with Reddit. You're only getting one side of the story. I guess that's true. And the person that's writing the story is going to try to make themselves sound better. So, like, is that actually how she said? Or was there a bigger fight involved in between the oh I fold my I folded the pages? Like, did she start by saying, Hey, I wish you just would have used a bookmark and maybe there was something, another conversation that was going on in between that we missed.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's true.
SPEAKER_00Because, like, yeah, hearing saying, Oh, I folded the pages when I was done reading to keep my spot. I also don't know what other damage she did to the damage she did. But it doesn't specifically say she dog eared the books, it just says she folded the pages. So did she fold it down the middle? Oh, did it cause tearing? Oh, did she break spines? Like what else did was done to the book? So I think that if she blocked her, I feel like something else might have happened.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Probably. Um, and then here's update number two. I've ordered replacements of the books and I've that I've damaged. She's okay with this. I also ordered some bookmarks for her. They're solid color ones. She has unblocked me and sent her. I sent her this post and a pol and an apology. Um last sentence I can't really read because there's nothing there's something in front of it.
SPEAKER_00We're at least on kind of uh friendly terms now. Yeah. You're now acquaintances. Yeah. You that's all you can honestly do. Yeah. And like I think that was maybe that's what happened. She was like, Do you mind replacing them because they're broken? Like, because I'm sorry, like it so I gave I gave you a book just now. I told you it's a little damaged because someone dam accidentally damaged my book. But they were but they bought me a new book because they knew they damaged it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So I had an extra. So it's like, oh, if you're fine with a damaged book, like here's here's a spare because it's a book you've been wanting. Yeah. But that was like a general conversation with my friend. Her her dog accidentally knocked it down, it broke the spine, it uh damaged the book jacket, it damaged the like the binding on it was damaged. But she's like, let me Yeah, she completely bought it. Let me let me buy you a new one. And she just bought me a new one. I didn't ask, she just did it. Yeah. But like, was that a conversation that happened? Like, was she like, oh, um, it'd be really nice if you could replace these, because some of them are either hard to get, because it does say some. Some of the books. School books, especially like those uni books.
SPEAKER_01Are these school books or they from what it sounded like they were uni books like for her classes. But I'm not sure.
SPEAKER_00Because those books are fucking expensive too. Yeah, uni books are expensive. But also, like if they're English majors, yeah, that's true. There were there were classes where I've had like actual books and I've had friends who didn't take the class after, and I say, here, you can just borrow my copy. Like, just borrow my copy. I never had any issues with it, but if I had seen that, oh, like they damaged my book, I would have been like, hey, it would I would really appreciate if you could maybe replace this.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, like I had someone I had an uh one of the Stephen King it books for a really long time, and I let someone borrow it, they completely damaged it and never like gave me a new one.
SPEAKER_00I had a whole I had a whole series stolen from me. Damn. I had I let someone borrow um the after series by Anna Todd. All five books, the first four and then the before one, and then she cut me out of her life and never returned them. Damn. And so like I don't have those books anymore. But like that's why I don't lend books to people anymore, honestly, because I'm like Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Books are not cheap. Books are not cheap. If I trust you and I know how if you know how to take care of a book properly, I'll let you, I'll let you borrow all my books.
SPEAKER_00But like if someone like if any of like my psychology books or like my art therapy books, if I borrowed them and someone damaged them, I'd be like, I don't know. These are expensive. You need to replace these. I yeah, like this is damaged. I can't use this because like some of those books are like 300 something bucks. Oh yeah, they're not they're not cheap. So I think she's the asshole, but I think she repaired it. Like yeah, she did the right thing. She realized she messed up. What bothered me, I think, was it took two updates to do it. So how many days was that? Yeah. Like you're mad that she blocked you. Like clearly she's upset, she's her. Just just replace it. Just replace hey, I'm sorry. I should have used a bookmark.
SPEAKER_01Or like communicate better, be like, hey, how do you want me to treat this book? Yeah, what because uh I know some book owners are different. Some of them like to do the dog tag ears, some of them like to do highlighting. Some people don't like highlighters at all.
SPEAKER_00No, yeah. I mean, if someone, if some I borrowed one of your books, I'd be like, I wouldn't even touch it. I'd yeah, bookmark it. Like, that's it. I wouldn't even like this is not my book.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00If it's a paperback, the paperback is the most terrifying things to borrow because I'm so scared I'm gonna like crack the spine on accident.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Like if I crack my own spine, it's like, oh yeah, but whatever. Oh, I I didn't I don't like breaking the spine, but if I do it, hey, at least I did it to my book. At least it's your book. But no, I cause like all she had to do at the beginning was, hey, I'm sorry. I should have asked, I didn't know. Let me buy you replacements for it. The getting her a bookmark kind of a little iffy. Yeah, that kind of she's the one that damaged her books.
SPEAKER_01Or maybe it's like uh, hey, I'm sorry. Here's a little something extra.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, like it could have been that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. You never know though, these though. Alright. I know you got a couple good ones. I have a couple.
SPEAKER_00Hold on. Sorry, I exited out of Reddit. That's the way that's a good one.
SPEAKER_01Not the Lego instructions.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00We're rebuilt me and my husband are rebuilding some of our damaged Legos. And some of them we threw the instructions away.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but luckily you can find Oh yeah, heads up. If you lost the instructions, you can find all of them on Lego.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you can just go to the Lego, look up the um the book, and then look up the set, and it'll say building instructions. Okay. Okay. This one is from R slash A-I-T-A-H, which is also another kind of world of Am I the Asshole. This one is Am I the Asshole? Hold on, I'm gonna move this. This is Am I the Asshole for telling my sister reading books doesn't make her intelligent. Okay. Okay. My sister is big on reading a lot of books from book talk, which generally are poorly written smut about callous billionaires or serial killers obsessed with the main character. She insisted at one point that I read some of her favorites so I would see I'm just stereotyping the books she likes, but I was right, they're at least 50% really shitty smut with some toxic romance thrown in. Despite this, she was being a r she has being a reader as a large part of her identity. Often talk about how she's nerdy and too smart for guys who are intimidated by her brains. Today she was telling me that she dumped a guy she's been seeing because he told her he never reads books. I asked her why, since he seemed nice and seemed happy with him. She said it's a red flag when guys don't read, as it's a sign of low intelligence and being uncultured, and that she needs somebody as intelligent and cultured as her. This made me chuckle a bit, because I don't think the books she read she reads require that much culture or critical thinking either. So she doesn't meet her own standards. She demanded to know what I was laughing about, so I said what I said above. She's hardly spending her free time reading Nat or something of that nature. The fact she reads doesn't make her intelligent or culture giving what she reads. She got angry, called me an asshole, and a misogynist for judging female-oriented literature. I pointed out there's plenty of literature written by and primarily for women that's not just shitty smut.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00So I don't know if that's actually the word now.
SPEAKER_01I would say yeah. I feel like reading, I don't think no matter what you're reading, as long as you're reading consistently, I don't want to say it makes you intelligent. I just think it expands your vocabulary more.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean I'm like kinda I'm gonna be honest. Unless you're educating yourself on They both kind of suck. Yeah, I would like my husband doesn't like to read. But that's just like him. He's just not his preference. Yeah he just doesn't but like I'm not gonna divorce my husband because he doesn't like to read. Like I don't think that makes him any less smart than he is. My husband's actually quite a very smart man. He's very intelligent. Yeah so just because he doesn't prefer to read doesn't make him any less intelligent but also like this sounds like it's written by a man. Yeah um but it could also be it doesn't there's no like there's no gender there's no gender for OP OP means original post job okay okay terms. Okay. Reddit terms um I wanna read comments you can hear my dog outside he's like what are they doing here this one says I was a bookseller for nearly 30 years. One thing I never did was mock anyone for their reading choices. It's not for me to question their subject matters and tastes now I can see your point she shouldn't be talking down a non-reader but you're shitting on her reading subject matter is also not cool. Yeah. So you SoP you are doing exactly what she's doing which is being condescending to a perfectly nice guy who just doesn't happen to enjoy reading.
SPEAKER_01Yeah I feel like it's just um I mean I personally don't like a lot of the book talk books either.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00But some of my favorite books I discovered from book talk but it's also because my TikTok is primarily like book oriented so I'm not just getting those like mainstream yeah stuff.
SPEAKER_01Like here's the other thing too is like some yeah some of the some of the smuddy books are not written as well but there are some that are not just solely based off of smut.
SPEAKER_00Yeah there's some that have smut in it but it's not really like yeah I've read some very highly smutty books and like I'm fine with them. Like to me I like some of them but there's some that I won't read or touch at all because they make me uncomfortable or they give me like but like I'm not gonna sit here like if someone comes up to me and says oh I like this book I'm gonna be like that's the worst book I read that's the worst book I ever read. How dare you write that yeah it kinda to I don't both of them are the asshole.
SPEAKER_01That's my conclusion.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I think OP if we're answering the question, yes, you're the asshole for telling your sister that reading books doesn't make her intelligent because your sister is probably smart in her own right. I mean That probably hurt her feelings quite a bit. Yeah I mean you Because if someone came up to me and was like If someone tells me I'm not intelligent for reading that I feel like what am I intelligent for then? Like if reading doesn't make me intelligent like are you calling me dumb?
SPEAKER_01You can be intelligent in other things that are not readable.
SPEAKER_00Yeah I mean what I'm studying is not English. Like I'm not an English literature like person like like I'm sure I like books that someone in English literature is probably like that's not a good book. Like it's written wrong but that doesn't mean I enjoy it less and but also I've had friends that studied English lit in college and they don't judge me for my book taste. They just say oh the grammar and that's not great.
SPEAKER_01Okay I still enjoyed it they're like that's cool like the yeah the other thing too is like yeah you could not be because I'm not intelligent in a lot of other subjects but if you ask me about the fucking sky I can go into like heavy detail on how the clouds are moving and how this is happening and how that's happening but if you ask me something about like helicopters I'm not gonna be like I know every single part of this helicopter. My brother can tell you that he works on helicopters. No yeah I don't everyone has their own niche thing that they can like and be Yeah like I know art like the back of my hand.
SPEAKER_00Yeah when a book makes an art reference I'm like yes I know that if the book makes a reference about swimming I read a book about swimmers and that we saw I just enjoyed it so we were at the used bookstore.
SPEAKER_01I saw a 30 volume series of archery archery for $900 how does one know that much about archery see that's a that's a subject that I'm not interested in it's a used bookstore. So someone had bought that set yeah and used that so don't yuck someone's yum correct thank you that's all we have to say okay next next okay I burned my best friend's biology book right sorry I burned my best friend's biology writing book because she cursed me why are yours all about textbooks no I didn't mean to pick them that way it's funny okay oh she's a long one she is a longer one I wanted to make sure I got some like sm shorter ones and some longer ones okay is it R slash confessions okay I burned my best friend's biology writing book because she cursed me curses I wasn't really good at studying back then but I always completed my notes in school and my handwriting was pretty good. On the other hand my best friend who was who was always seated next to me was a really good student. Always got good marks but she never completed her notes in class. She'd either write very slowly or fiddle around with something. When I asked her about it she'd say that she'd ask a book from someone and complete it later. That's how it's worded even though I rarely studied at home or did my homework when I was packing my bag some of the books were missing but when I went to school the book was there in my bag to write the notes this was a frequent thing but it I think it I think I was too stupid to notice until later I found out what was actually happening. So one day my bestie was titling tilting sorry tilting her chair backwards as she normally would and I looked back to find out that she was slowly either taking or leaving my biology writing book in my bag when she was she was caught red handed. So I confronted her and asked her if she had been stealing my books and taking them home. Apparently she had been taking them to complete her notes when I told her that she shouldn't have done that because I needed my books to study and do my homework she said something along the lines of it's not like you to use your books to study anyway. I was so angry yes I don't study or do my homework but that's none of her business and she she should shirley shouldn't be doing what she's doing. She could have just asked if she wanted my books so on the on a fine day that's what it says so on a fine day I stole her biology writing book which was almost over and filled with beautifully written completed notes. I'm pretty sure that she knew it was me. My initial intention was with the book was to keep it in her school bag after a week first she confronted me but I denied denied ever taking her book then when she started cursing then she started cursing the person who took her book with me and one day during that week she looked into my eyes and said she worked hard on completing her book and the person who took her book must be cursed and struck by lightning since I was cursed anyway at that I went home and waited for the moment everyone at home lost their interest in me and burned her biology writing book. The relief the guilt the courage the satisfaction all came rushing at once but there was one thing I couldn't do for sure I could never return her book to her. This was a while before the ordinary level exam examination and she never found her book so she had to write and complete the whole book again which she said that she was grateful to the person who took her book because she was able to study again while writing the notes while this might have been true she probably s she probably said that to make me feel guilty. To be honest I didn't feel guilty for burning her book at the time but I kind of didn't care much either because I felt like I didn't do anything wrong and she deserved it. FYI this happened at the time when I was very innocent and didn't think of stealing anything from anyone ever again edit this was 16 years ago years ago and I was 13 back then quite immature at this point in my life I find it funny that I burned a book because someone cursed me she was 13 I was like I was like what are you what is going on I thought like this was like college kids lightning strike is a level one another 13 year old curse dude did you get struck by lightning I wonder if they were like going I wonder if they were reading Harry Potter at the time and was like let me let me do a curse on this person to get my apology back. I didn't know 13 year olds learned biology I don't know that seems young to me that's an eighth grader no you graduate when you're 17 from high school I I graduated when I was 18 and that's only because you're November. I was a November baby.
SPEAKER_00Yeah so I got put back in like the I was the oldest in my my my I was sweet yeah my mom didn't want me to be the baby I don't know if it mattered but no I was 17 when I graduated now I was 18 when I was in eighth grade no I had I had tattoos when I graduated high school I had I had this one and this one.
SPEAKER_01So I was I had been 18 for a minute when I graduated anyway anyway it doesn't matter. Don't steal your books yeah don't steal people's books uh you ask first and maybe maybe then also keep track of your also just maybe study by yourself.
SPEAKER_00Yeah or maybe just pay attention to class the comment of her going yeah I don't do my homework but she shouldn't be stealing my book anyway I I thought these were like college kids I did too and I was like what is this it makes sense it makes sense she's 13 I wonder what I wonder what the curse was I want to know so bad.
SPEAKER_01Did she just like light a candle?
SPEAKER_00I don't know she probably was just like she probably like played with mud or some shit probably like whoever stole my book may they be struck by lightning. It was probably some stupid shit like that that's funny. Wow pretty intense read don't worry about it it's in the past and hopefully you've moved on she honestly deserved it but personally I would have kept the book because she had good notes I could use in it.
SPEAKER_01True especially if it was written out really well no yeah that's right but see like I wonder I was confused.
SPEAKER_00Was she stealing the girl was stealing the books from her to steal to copy her notes but then she said oh the notes were written girl those are your notes yeah like why are you like why are you stealing the book? Just tell a teacher yeah like hey she's cheating she's cheating off of me yeah like I don't it's happened six also the the the funny part is like how long did this go on before the person noticed that the books were getting stolen I feel like oh I'm gonna go home do your parents not check you to make sure you're doing your homework oh mine did I had to sit at my kitchen table yeah I'd cry at math problems it's funny now because I'm going into a a degree that is heavily dependent on math and I'm horrible at it anyway it's your turn this one's from R slash two hot takes which is a podcast that I listen to okay I love them. They read like Reddit stories but they have their own subreddit oh cool so this one is I heard this on their podcast so I will say that I did hear this on the podcast first but I wanted your reaction to it so that's why is this where you got the idea from yeah I heard this one and I was like I was like oh we should read book ones and this fun okay my husband is spoiling the spicy scenes in my romance books by acting them out before I get to them so he's learning he's ahead of the game okay I, 32 female read a lot of romance novels like four to five a month. Damn not the super smuddy stuff more like Emily Henry type books with the illustrated cartoon covers, enemies to lovers, tropes, that kind of thing about two months ago my husband of 11 years 38 male started acting a little different in the bedroom. Not bad different just occasionally there's this vibe like he has something planned will have what I can only describe as themed night and I'll think okay that was fun and a little random and move on. Then a few days later I'll be reading my book hit a spicy scene and actually have to put my Kindle down because it's the same scene like the same vibe the same moves occasionally almost the same setup it's already happened four times now lucky girl four times I finally said something to my sister and she immediately started crying laughing which was not helpful she thinks he's reading ahead in my books and is essentially performing the scenes on slash with me before I get there as some kind of prank but here's what I can't figure out I read on my Kindle he ha he'd have to get into my account figure out where I am in each book read ahead then coordinate he's a big tech slash number guy so if he's doing this I guarantee there's a spreadsheet involved somewhere I'm honestly not even mad generally if this is what's happening it might be the most unhinged romantic gesture anyone has ever done for me but he is technically spoiling the books I love just like I love this hold on like he'd be spoiling it for me. How do I tell him to stop spoiling the plot without accidentally telling him to stop being the most high effort partner I've ever had I would just be like hey wait till I get to the scene I'll let you know then we can do it our partners are gonna listen to this and be like oh an idea don't spoil the book though let us read it first and then we can do the fun stuff oh that's that's a steroid the top comment is made the mistake of reading this post to my husband and I think I actually saw a light bulb turn on above his head gonna start locking my Kindle. Seriously though if the biggest worry in your relationship is him spoiling the spicy scenes in your book by acting them out I'd say you two are in a great place.
SPEAKER_01Do you know what couple that reminds me of so there's a there's a couple on TikTok that I love it's a um it's this really big muscular guy with a shorter girl she's always wearing like a red robe and um her she always asks her husband to like recreate the scenes with her and she she always goes she was doing I know exactly who you're talking about I love them so much she gets so like shy when he goes to do it it's hysterical what would you tell Isaac if this was Isaac sorry Isaac I'd be like hey Han gotta stop spoiling the books but we can still have the fun boo in it no with Milo Dylan would like pick a book of a series that I haven't even started and then I would like like months later months later be like what the f no I feel like no it would be really funny I don't think we have I don't both of us I don't have have this book or like have the like the super super dark romance books but if like one of them picked it up one of the really dark romance books and read like one of those out of the I'd be like okay I'm more talking like no yeah no you know which book I'm talking about. Those are a little much those are a little much I feel like the people who read more dark romance if they're if their husbandslash partners would start doing that. Act out the romance books not the horror ones please yeah maybe not maybe not the ones with like the stalkers and stuff because those can get a little unless you into that then do it.
SPEAKER_00No I don't be yucking people's yum sometimes it'd just be too hardcore though.
SPEAKER_01Here's another comment that's so sweet that's like living the dream for him to be involved in your hobbies and what books you read maybe let him know gently but he's a good egg good egg good egg egg good egg yeah that one I thought was really funny but uh honestly if you came up to me and you were like Isaac's doing this thing I'd also laugh at you yeah I'd be like that's so fucking funny like that's hysterical I'd be like ha ha ha lucky okay I got my third one third one my third one okay it's from r slash funny stories so in high school I made up a book for a writing assignment because I was too lazy and didn't feel like reading another full novel on top of my pleasure reading what do you mean continue so this was in 10th grade and we had these things called book talks which is one of the reasons why I wanted to do this one because we have book talks anyway called book talks in my honors English class. Basically you had to write a couple page essay on a book you you read we had to read one every two weeks I believe so one book every two weeks. Then present what book sorry. I lost my spot. Then present what book what the book what the book was about and give your thoughts on it in front of the class. One week I wasn't all wasn't at all feeling like reading an extra book on top of my other assignments. So during study hall I made up a coming of age novel called The Skies of Wisconsin written in the perspective of a dead girl who was murdered by her high school bullies for something really stupid. I can't remember I made up the author and everything and gave this presentation not only did my teacher give me an A, but she pestered me for like three days after asking if she could borrow my book, my copy of the book of because she couldn't find it on Amazon and thought the story sounded really amazing. I told her I found it at a used bookstore and had never heard of the author either and that I had give I had I had given it to one of my friends or that I would give it to her once my friends finished it. So imagine that's so smart though. Imagine making up a story but it's not I'm sorry I'm gonna say the teacher thinks it's Google I'm sorry like she looks on Amazon she's like I can't find I can't find it on Amazon would you look at Barnes Noble borders that doesn't exist I don't know like if I was the teacher and if I could find it if I physically couldn't find the book I'd be like I would Google it she got away with it.
SPEAKER_00The top comment is I can't imagine how genius you have to be to think of a whole book with a complicated plot and present it in front of a class of st of a class with questions props to you man.
SPEAKER_01That's crazy.
SPEAKER_00That's funny though I also had to do it did you ever have to do book reports?
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Then you present them yeah I talked about this I had to do one for Twilight Yeah you did.
SPEAKER_01I don't remember um any of the books that I did I remember um I remember we were doing like a a thing in my like a like 10th grade um like English class where we were reading like the Lord of the flies and my teacher like put us in like groups and she'd be like whatever you had in your bag is like what you have with you on the island and I had a tourniquet in my bag so like immediately everyone was like we gotta team up with her because she's got a tourniquet. Why did you have a tourniquet in your bag? My dad's a paramedic yeah but like we live in America that's why my grandpa was a an uh a weapons engineer I didn't have a bazooka in my bag I think I I think it was because we live in America and school shootings are very often that's occurring.
SPEAKER_00Yeah so there is one the other day unfortunately I carried a tourniquet with me at school there was one the other day there was there I feel like there's one every day now um they make backpacks now that have shields in them yeah yeah it's really sad okay change the topic because I don't want that's sad and I don't want to talk about it. Yeah we're not gonna talk about we're not gonna get too far into that anyway maybe there's a book I want to read that has like that kind of storyline so yeah we'll we'll we'll talk about it then because I did a photo project based off that too yeah so it's important to talk about but it maybe not this current moment new I wanna I want to be happy when I go back to watching dance moms after this yeah dance moms dance moms also it's my first time watching dance moms too I hate Abby so much I'm sorry everybody except Jojo's a little bit long I'm sorry in advance this one is from r slash relationship advice interesting okay um so this one's from r slash relationship advice it's c titled my boyfriend 26 male burned my 23 female book what do I do I have had to rewrite this multiple different times now as I keep breaking down I don't know what to do and I am completely lost so apologies for any spelling errors or mistakes as I am not in the best place mentally. Note that all names are fake so he doesn't find this hopefully now a little back now a little backstory. I promise it will make sense. Nine years ago I met my boyfriend Adrian I was in ninth grade and he was in 11th he had moved in next door and because we were too close for buses but too far to walk he offered to drive me every day. Even after graduating he drove me we got really close and he became my best friend we started dating five years ago. At that time I began writing my first story and Adrian's mom as an author herself began helping me. Together we wrote edited and got my book ready to publish then in 2019 she passed away unexpectedly everyone was distraught and I decided not to publish the book. Instead I pushed myself more into work working 16 hour days and up until a year ago I continued to do this. Adrian and I bought a little duplex and moved in together and we rented the other half of it to a friend of his now I've been getting into writing again and have to cut back to working 12 hours a day damn you cutting back cutting back to working 12 hours a day.
SPEAKER_01What the f how many days how many hours are you working? I don't know there's only 12 hours in the day you like light time light that's what I meant 20 20 there's 24 hours there's 12 hours in light 12 hours a star okay I'm gonna continue over the course of the last decade I've been buying books I've spent a good three thousand dollars on books but have and have like 175 don't mind me O V-E bought myself at this point.
SPEAKER_00Oh I've bought myself at this point I have over another 50 that I got from his mom before she passed and also left in the will for me and then a handful from my friends over the years. Last time I went through them I had 300 books. Now I know this might seem intense it's not but I have read almost every single one of these whenever I get a chance at work when I have a day off when I can't sleep I read. Reading is the way I cope I guess fair. Adrian knows how important my books are he knows how much time money and energy I've put into getting them all and keep them looking good. He himself has read a good bit of them and helps me take care of them. Last week we got into an argument I don't remember what it was about just that it lasted from the time I got off until almost noon. So at least it lasted seven hours. Most of it was him screaming at me. I don't know if I fell asleep or what but I generally don't remember any of it. However it did end with him storming out of the house and leaving I spent the rest of the day in a haze and immediately I went to the spare room and started reading. It wasn't until he came in an hour before I had to leave for work that I stopped reading. When I got off work the next morning I immediately went home took a shower fell asleep I woke up to the fire alarm going off my husband frantically running around trying to get them to stop immediately I went into the spare room to see if everything was okay my books specifically the shelf that had been gifted to me were smoking some of them on the floor I asked him what had happened and apparently he was playing with his new flame torch lighter flame torch lighter when it caught one of my books on fire it was on the top shelf so why it wasn't too bad but he was able to get them out. There were a few books the ones he had thrown on the floor I asked him what book caught on fire. He didn't respond instead he just teared up and pointed on the ground was the book his mom and I wrote together.
SPEAKER_01Oh no I had a feeling that's where this was going.
SPEAKER_00I lost it I asked him to leave and when he tried to refuse I threatened to call the police it took five minutes of us arguing before I burst into tears and he finally left. It's been almost a week now I haven't responded to him at all I changed the locks on the house and even informed his friends that if they let him into my part of the house I'd have them all arrested. Last night his father called me we talked and why he said he understood why I was hurt he thought I should let Adrian come back and try to fix it. I don't know if I can though I don't know if I can trust him I don't know what to do I just need advice there's an edit but we can talk and then I can read the edit I guess it depends this is my thing did he do it on purpose? Why are you playing that thrower in the house why are you playing with a flamethrower in the house a flame torch whatever whatever flames in the houses is an ogo unless it's a candle or incense yeah but especially in your books like what kind of what kind of what kind of he was playing with his new why are you in like the book room because it sounds like she has a dedicated room for her books. Yeah like her like office for right writing and stuff yeah but like what are the odds out of the 300 books she has the one that accidentally catches on fire is the one is the like the most special also too if that's the last thing that your mom did with your girl like wife yeah why would you want to burn it even if you're mad at your partner no yeah even I if I was mad at my partner I wouldn't go burning his comic book collection I wouldn't touch I wouldn't I wouldn't do anything I wouldn't do anything to sabotage any of that no yeah it crazy what's what's the edit I'm curious the edit is No we are not actually married I never have and never will want to be married we agreed we're never wanting to get married however we are considered to be in a common law marriage because of how long we've been together. The book he burnt wasn't an actual book not a professional one anyways it was in a notebook that his mom and I were writing in. When I first wrote it I wasn't allowed electronics and didn't get my first smartphone until I was 18. So it was just written in a notebook. Thank you all for the advice I'm calling him his dad and my older brother to meet tomorrow for dinner if it goes well then it goes well hopefully I won't have to do any more updates or edits. And there's the post has been deleted. Okay. Like it's been archived.
SPEAKER_01So I'm looking up common law marriage because no 100% actually done on purpose.
SPEAKER_00He tried to destroy the things he knew would hurt you the most letting this abusive man child back into your life would be the dumbest most stupid thing you could do. But has he done anything like this at all? Because it doesn't sound like he's been like he's done anything and I want to know what the fight was about. Yeah. Because it's kind like I will say a little suspicious that she doesn't remember. I'm not blaming her. Like he shouldn't have done it I but like it seems like she's working a lot.
SPEAKER_01Yeah yeah especially if she's working if she've if she's cutting back to 12 hours.
SPEAKER_00Yeah it sounds like she's working a lot the poor woman's probably tired but also like especially if you can't remember what the fight's about it wasn't that important update there's an update do you want the update I do want the update okay I found an update so this is on her like personal like Reddit account so it just says update to original post a few months ago I posted on here about my boyfriend burning a book that was very important to me multiple books actually a few days after that post my brother Isaiah male 29 Adrian and Adrian's dad all had lunch together a few late days later when my brother and I both got time off I want to say it went well that we talked and agreed on breaking up and that we went our separate ways but that would be a lie we got there and Adrian wasn't there. His father had said that he had been out all night so he was still asleep but that he would join us when he woke up so we waited another half hour before he finally showed up we ordered and ate in silence until Adrian's dad asked when Adrian was allowed to move back in. Before I could say anything Isaiah told them that he couldn't until I was moved out. Adrian didn't like this and it quickly moved into a screaming match. I don't remember much after this what I do know is that Isaiah and I left not long after and when we got back home we started packing my stuff I have I have been living with him since I have taken your guys' advice and tried to report him to the authorities or get a restraining order but they wouldn't take my report as he had never been physically abusive towards me and they didn't deem him a threat towards me. What we then went and found a lawyer just in case something happens and because I just know Adrian will start trouble with the house and the car so I guess we're just preparing for that. Now for the good updates I got into a doctor who believes I have dissociative disorder and is sending me to a specialist however that is still a few months out I'm also going to be talking to a counselor twice a week starting sometime this month I haven't gotten a new job in hospice yet but honestly I don't think I want I don't think I want to at this moment. For the last month I have been doing some smaller jobs such as babysitting tutoring and dog walking in the meantime I have been reading a lot more and have been getting back into writing I actually recently discovered fanfiction and have joined a book group in my area. That's good. I'm going to be honest I'm happier than I have been in a very long time since before my dad came back at least he did a lot of damage to not only me but also to Isaiah and we are both starting to recover from it. So yeah that's my update thank you to everyone who helped me so far but I think this might be the last time I use this account.
SPEAKER_01Okay well I'm well one glad she's happier. Yeah two it sounds like he's been abusive yeah and especially since like they were looking into getting restrained order because this doesn't sound like this is the first time that's happened. Or something similar to this is happening. Yeah or like he seems to be just get mad at like he seems the type to just blow up in your face when you ask something very normal. Yeah um well good for her I'm glad she's out of that situation.
SPEAKER_00And I was gonna make a comment but I don't like to diagnose people. Yeah but I was gonna say sometimes when I have my own issues I black out yeah I don't remember things and I was gonna say I think it sounds like she has some dissociative disorder she doesn't remember the fight. Yeah I don't like diagnosing people because I'm I may be studying therapy but I am not a therapist not yet so yet is the big word. I don't like doing that so I'm glad that she was able to go to a doctor to get a specialist who then probably properly diagnose. Because what in the uh the this update she blacked out again right it's that yeah when they were fighting in the in the restaurant she doesn't remember what they were fighting about.
SPEAKER_01I remember you we've talked so sometimes and you there's things that you're like oh I don't remember this happening and I go I don't yeah yeah but I'm glad that she's getting the help that she needs I'm glad she's happier I'm glad she's going back to writing yeah that's awesome maybe we'll read one of her books. Yeah we'll never know we'll never know maybe she's a famous author now yeah it's free to make fat in she's like I just need a better phone no yeah okay let's see if my phone will load I'm at 10% charger that's alright this phone is not the best this is my boyfriend's old phone because I can't use my current phone because half of the screen is not currently working so that's why I have to get it fixed before we trade it in. So now I have to use my boyfriend's old phone which doesn't hold a battery for very long so okay I got my what's this fourth? Yeah it's your last one I can my last one okay this was kind of it's not like super short but I guess it is kind of short. Okay. I have it here but I gotta find it's just a little the end piece of it I sent it to you in our chat. Okay we'll wait for her to get it pulled up and then we can start reading it. Okay I found it okay what is it which one is it so this is from our confessions it says I tricked the bookroom attendant to avoid paying for a lost book when I was in high school we borrowed textbooks from the school the book room tracked who has the books with the number written on the fore edge there was no barcode one time I lost a textbook and it was 150 plus dollars um when minimum wage was six dollars. I was devastated so I went to look for the book in the bat the book room I brought a marker with me found the book with a number that I could easily change so that if so sorry easily changed to that of my lost book when I showed the sweet book room attendant she was happy for me that I found it she was happy for me that I found it and it and didn't s suspect anything. My mom thought it was brilliant but now if my daughter lost a school slash library book again I would just pay for it.
SPEAKER_00That's funny like if if this must have been like yeah where they just wrote stuff on the books instead of like scanning stuff yeah especially since the minimum wage was only six dollars six dollars that was probably a while ago my school just gave us textbooks and we did all we were required was to put a book cover on them yeah interesting did you have to like get like those um like those um paper bags and you had to like make the like little book things that the paper bags some so you could use like the pay the cloth ones but if they stretched on the if they caused damage to the book when they opened you couldn't use them. So then most of the time we just tried to make paper bag ones. Yeah and then those paper bag ones were fun to make yeah and then you could decorate them put stickers and then you just rip it off when you're done.
SPEAKER_01No yeah I don't know how many times I used a textbook in school though yeah typically at my school like they would have like a set for the class and then we would just pass them out and we would keep them in the classroom.
SPEAKER_00Yeah yeah no we would have them home we would have like so if one teacher had like five classes she would have enough books for every one of her students and you would take them home. Yeah. But I'm like I'm trying to remember I don't think I've ever brought them home because I would go I had like a study period during school because I danced so much after school. So I would do all my stuff at school.
SPEAKER_01Yeah so then you have those textbooks readily available for you. Yeah yeah like they would we would get one I remember there were times where we would get ones from like the library for the year and then we would take them home and we would have to that's what it was is I had to take them to and from school.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So like I'd have like three textbooks in my backpack and like one from like history one from science one from like whatever and my school didn't have lockers so I had to carry All of those backpacks with me or my those books with me, which sucked. And then my grandma got me a rolling backpack and it was easier because my back did you just get your schedule?
SPEAKER_00I'm working a nine-hour shift one day. I'm sorry. Um you had a rolling backpack?
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Because my my we didn't have walkers.
SPEAKER_00Did it have light up wheels? No. Dang.
SPEAKER_01No.
SPEAKER_00I I had I thought those were so cool.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00They were they were smart. I'm sorry. Yeah, people bullied the people that had the roly backpacks. Those are smart. I probab the my back pain that I have now as an adult. I bet some of that not only came from dance, but came from Oh, me carrying those backpackers.
SPEAKER_01I would agree because they would make you carry all your textbooks, all of your binders. Like I said, I didn't have lockers at my school.
SPEAKER_00We had lockers, so like I was but like I said, I would just leave my books there and I would do all my reading at school. So I didn't have to bring my books to dance class. And then like in between class like if I had like a 30 minute break in between class, dance classes, I would do my homework at the dance studio. Because I would be there from like three to like nine.
SPEAKER_01Were your schools all inside or outside?
SPEAKER_00We just had one building.
SPEAKER_01So it was just in one one giant building. Oh. My my school was like it was all outside, so like there would be like multiple different buildings. It'd be like the math building. And then there would be a few. No, we had wings.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we had like So we had like F hallway, was like the science hallway. Oh yeah, we Yeah. We had but we had um we had two floors and every year the sophomores would pull a prank on the freshman and we would say, Oh, if you can find the pool on the third floor, um, you guys win the class, yeah, the the class for the like class of the year for the school year, and the amount of times like because there was only two floors. There's no pool. So they'd be like looking, they'd be like, What? But like it's like one of those things like when I was a freshman, like I have sophomores be like, Yeah, if you find if the freshman class finds the pool on the third floor by the end of this week, you guys win class of the year. So like it's just like one of those like tradition things that we had, yeah. Yeah. It's really funny. Because we the amount of like like I was like a frantic freshman, but seeing like other frantic freshmen come up to me like when I was like a junior or sophomore, because like I wouldn't be the ones to tell them it was like the it was the sophomores if I was a junior and a senior and I I'd have like a freshman be like, Do you know where the pool is? Do you know where the pool is? And I'd be like, and I would just know I'd be like, there's no pool. I'd be like, I'd be like, yeah, it's on the third floor. They're like, Where?
SPEAKER_01Wait, how do you get there? Yeah, we had quads. So there'd be like the English quad, and then there'd be like the math. Well, they we had a math building. That one was the two-story building. And then we had like we had two gymnasiums. We had the band so we had like the band in one band drama and like all of like the performing arts in one section, and then we had like all the English classes in one section, all the history classes were in one section. Yeah. My school California schools were really weird because all of them are outside.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, no.
SPEAKER_01Every single one of them.
SPEAKER_00Could not be us in the north in the northeast.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's too cold up there for that.
SPEAKER_00No, yeah. We had like a gym outside. Yeah, like we'd had like a track and yeah, I think we had that, but yeah, we'd had like oh my another school.
SPEAKER_01I think wait, maybe we've talked about this before, but my school used to do like they'd have like a one-minute drill until you had to be at class and it would be like the um mission impossible. So you would just see kids like running to class with the the mission impossible in the background. And you know how kids run with backpacks on? It's so funny. You just imagine going du. That was so freaking funny. And then they would change it every once in a while, but it was typically the That's so it was it was hysterical, especially watching kids run with backpacks. That's so just kids running with backpacks is just so funny to watch. And I would just laugh at them.
SPEAKER_00Did you guys, if you were injured, did you get to leave class early? So like we had a slip where if I so like there was one year I had like um torn muscles in my knee. And so I could leave I had like crutches and stuff. Oh so I would leave class like 10 minutes early. So there was wait, hold on. There was this one, let me tell you this place. There is I was in an English class and I had to go all the way to the art building. So the English class is in C Wing all the way on the second floor that actually exists. And then and then the uh art was on in the G hallway on the first floor on the opposite side of the school. So I had to I got the 10 minutes early, so I had to leave. This substitute teacher goes, Where are you going? And I was like, Oh, I get to leave 10 minutes early because I'm injured, and like the class is like, Yeah, she has crutches. I have crutches, and like I can clearly see that you're injured. And she's like, You're not allowed to leave the class early. I'm calling the dean. And like, so then I get up and start walking, and she goes, Oh my god, I'm so sorry I didn't know. And I was like, I told you, and then she chased me down the hallway saying, Come back here, I want to apologize. I was like, Do you not realize the point of me leaving early is because I can't walk fast and I need to leave to go to class on time? Yeah, and she like called the dean, and the dean had me like, and then during my art class, I got sent to the dean, and they're like, She just wanted to apologize. I was like, So you took me out of class for this?
SPEAKER_01I was just trying to get to class, like, and then you yet you pulled me out of it to explain like I don't care if she was trying to apologize. So cause when I had sprained, cause I had I had played basketball and I did I'd sprained my ankle in freshman year of high school. I had crutches for that for like a month, but my school had what an extra knee scooter thing. So like I didn't get to leave early, but I was whipping that thing at school. Like I would be I was I would go so fast on that knee scooter, I'd be like first one to class. Then again, I was always the first one to class, but like I'd I'd be zooming on that scooter. It was so funny. It was awesome.
SPEAKER_00Okay, I was gonna read another one, yeah, but then I started reading it and we're not gonna read it. It's really sad. It's really sad, it's not what we want to end on. So we're gonna just do those. But anything else you want to talk about while we're here? Any like updates or I mean besides the I mean we already kind of briefly touched on it, but I mean things are just gonna be changing for us on the podcast.
SPEAKER_01That's really about it.
SPEAKER_00It's just more for our mental health too. Um, just so we can because we enjoy reading, and I still want to be able to enjoy reading. Yes. And I don't want to make it a job. Correct.
SPEAKER_01So which we're trying to avoid with this. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So if things start adjusting, we're still in those early-on stages. Um, so we will kind of we're just gonna be adjusting how we do things.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. You'll still get episodes, you'll still get it'll still be kind of the same thing.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you'll still get episodes about books, you'll still get episodes like about with a game, we'll have special guests on, we'll do Reddit more we can do more Reddit posts too.
SPEAKER_01Also let us know about the content that you guys want to see as well. We're still gonna be posting book stuff, like we said, we're still gonna be posting those. It just might be more sporadic.
SPEAKER_00More sporadic, more random. Um, we're not really gonna have like a set like this, this, and this. The schedule is us. Whenever that is our schedule, whatever we want, whatever we want to do.
SPEAKER_01When we have time for it, because our lives are especially now with school starting back up, you've got a lot of stuff going on, I've got a lot of stuff going on. It's just easier if we do it this time.
SPEAKER_00I can highly promise you will still get three episodes a month, though.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. But just a matter of when, what they are, will be kind of it kind of just depends on what we're in the mood for.
SPEAKER_00And as we kind of grow and like kind of see what works for us, then maybe we'll have more of like a schedule of things.
SPEAKER_01So but we're just figuring things out for now. Yeah. Just hang on, and we really appreciate for those people who are listening. I can't stress that enough. We appreciate all of you for listening, for what we were able to do. I mean, we got 10 we got a hundred streams the other day. You hit a hundred downloads. A hundred downloads. What are we at now? Thank you for that. It's I didn't honestly think we would ever yeah get get this far as we I honestly just started doing this because I thought it would be a fun idea with you. But I'm so glad we did start this, and it has been such a joy to do this with you, and I've been looking forward to doing this with you. So I'm just happy people other people are enjoying it besides us.
SPEAKER_00I'm enjoying this. It's helping me find new books that I like, revisit books that maybe I don't like anymore.
SPEAKER_01But yeah, so thanks for everything. We appreciate all of you who listen and all of you who give us our feedback. And um so thanks for being the OGs since day one.
