Good evening mamas and welcome to midlight, your light in the middle of the night. Do sometimes things just not go the way you expected or were hoping for? I can understand that, mama. Sometimes it just is that way. You can try and try, but it just isn't always successful. I want to encourage you tonight to not give up on the things that you are trying for. If it is getting your baby to eat or getting your baby to sleep, or trying to figure out just the right position to make them happy. Maybe you have a colicky baby who's crying a lot and you're walking the floors and it's hard. Maybe your baby is just unsettled tonight and you're not even sure why. I want to let you know that the Lord will meet you there. He will be with you in that place and he will strengthen you and give you everything that you need for life and godliness in this moment. He is the same God who gave manna to the Israelites in the middle of the desert when they needed food. He literally rained down sweet bread from heaven in the morning so they could have what they needed. And by the way, they were a little bit grumbly at that point in Exodus chapter 16 when he gave them the manna that they needed. God is with you, mama, even when your heart is struggling, even when you're so tired, even when everything you're doing feels hard. The Lord is with you, and he sees you, and he knows your heart, and he is with your baby, and he is going to give you all that you need tonight for that child and for yourself. The God of manna is the same God of you and that baby today. And what's interesting is that manna was only for one day. The Lord wanted to provide for their needs in a daily manner, so he gave them fresh manna every day. And then at the end of the day, if they didn't use it, or at the end of the morning when the sun came out in it, it got warm, it would melt the manna. And I think this is God showing us that he wants us to come to him regularly, daily for our needs, because it says that he is our daily bread. So I encourage you to know that you can come to God all the time in a fresh way. He will meet you there if you are needing a freshness tonight, that you just need God to give you provision. I pray you would ask for that. Because we know that God says, do not worry about the future, just worry about right now. God's going to take care of the future too, but he's going to take care of you in this moment, right here and right now. Another thing that's interesting when you start to study manna is that manna, they were told to collect it to each one according to what they needed. Some gathered a lot, some gathered a little, but none of them were left needing anything at the end. Maybe your request feels small, maybe it feels really, really big, but God knows. He knows your needs and he wants to meet you there because he is the God of provision. So tonight, Mama, if there is something you need from the Lord, whether it's for your emotional needs or your physical needs or your financial needs, don't be afraid to come to him, because he is the God who fed the Israelites in the desert. He told them to keep going and he would provide for their needs. He even gave them food in the morning in the form of manna, and he gave them quail by night. God is so faithful, is he not? He is with you in the middle of the night to meet your needs, mama, as you meet the needs of those babies and those little ones. So I actually want to say, good job, mama. Good job doing the hard things, good job doing the repetitive things for your baby that sustains them. God wants to sustain you in the same way. Just know that his love for you will provide for you. Because it even when the Israelites were grumbling in the wilderness, God saw them and loved them anyway. And he is with you. Even when you're like, I don't know what to do anymore for this child, God, he will give them what they need, and it will probably come through you. So, Mama, I encourage you tonight to lift up your head, put your eyes on the Lord, and allow him to provide for your needs tonight. I want to pray a blessing over you tonight from Numbers 6, 24 through 26, which is may the Lord bless you and keep you and make his face to shine upon you, be gracious unto you and give you peace. Thank you for spending some time with me tonight, Mama. I pray a sweet evening over you, and until next time, take care.
