Tonight we will talk about the importance of not growing weary in doing well as mamas. God is with us to strengthen us and hold us up when we are tired, mama.
Good evening, mamas, and welcome back to Midlight, your light in the middle of the night. Tonight I was thinking about how tiring motherhood is and what a blessing it also is. It is so easy to grow weary in taking care of such a precious little soul when it is 24-hour duty. So, mamas, tonight I want to share a verse with you from the Bible, and it comes from Galatians chapter 6 and verse 9, and it says, And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. That is the New King James Version, and I also like the way it's written in the ESV, the English Standard Version, it says, And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap if we do not give up. And I think about what this verse means to us in terms of our motherhood, and when we break it down, we realize that in this particular chapter of the Bible, Paul is telling Christians to keep doing good things, even when it's hard, we're tiring, or we don't see immediate results. And that's us as mothers. We are going to pour into this thing for our whole lives, and we may not see the results right away, but we will reap a harvest in the end. And that planting is taking place with good soil, and we are planting seeds inside of our children. As we are doing well with them, we will be planting a beautiful garden with our babies in terms of how to handle things in a way that is persevering and not giving up, with joy and stamina, freshness, kindness, meekness. We can demonstrate these things to our children as we tend to their needs on a regular basis and do it with a good heart, and do it even when we're tired with a good heart. It is a blessing for our children. We may not see reaped right away, but we can rest assured according to this verse that we will reap it in due time. The next thing it shows us in this verse is don't quit or lose heart. Keep going, mama, even when you're tired. It's amazing to me how the Lord will give you the stamina and everything you need as a mama to take care of your little ones. And I do understand the tiring aspects of motherhood, how beautiful it is, but sometimes how much your arms ache when you carry that baby around all day, or your back hurts, and you have physical pain, maybe even just mental exhaustion from all the demands. But I'm encouraging you to not give up and to do it well, because this is an area of your life that will matter. There's many things you will do in your life, and they will be good, and they will have an impact. But the impact that you have on your baby's mama, that is the greatest one. That is the greatest one. The next thing that we see in this verse is that there is a promise of a reward, a fruit, or blessing, but it doesn't come in our timing, it comes in God's timing. In due season or at the proper time means God's timing, not ours, and it's not going to again be necessarily right away. It will be tempting, mamas, to become selfish at times, or live by our flesh, versus living by doing what's right by the spirit. But when you feel that happening, when you feel your selfishness coming up, or worrying more about your needs than anyone else's, I'm going to encourage you to reach up to the Lord and say, God, fill me anew, fill me fresh. God, my babies need me, and you know it. So I turn to you for strength and endurance and perseverance in this time, because it's hard at times to not grow weary of doing good, which is why I know, God, you have taught us this in your word, so that we would not give up. And we will trust you for the timing, and we will lay down any selfish desires we have, and we will pick up the mantle you've given us and allow you to strengthen us because God is doing that for us, Mamas. And just remember, also found in Galatians 6, verse 8, which is literally right above this, it says, For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the spirit will of the spirit reap everlasting life. And that is the concept of what we sow, we reap, which you will hear talked about in different places, but that's where it's found in scripture, is it's telling us to not walk in selfish desires, but walk in the things that the Lord is calling us to. You know what's interesting about that, Mamas, is that when you're doing it God's way, you can feel the load lighten because He is bearing our burdens with us and He will help us to persevere. Sometimes it comes in the night hours that we need perseverance, and sometimes it comes in the daytime hours after a long night. But I know that it comes, Mama, and so does the Lord, and again, you're not alone. The Lord is with you in these seasons and in these times. So mama, I'm going to encourage you, do not grow weary in doing well, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up. So mammas, keep doing the things, keep getting up with your babies, keep changing the diapers, keep feeding that precious little soul, keep a joyful heart about you as you work in your homes because what you do matters and the way you do it matters. So mama, remember that you are building a legacy, one feeding session at a time, one diaper change at a time, one precious little song that you sing at a time, or prayer, you will reap a reward. I will leave you with this. When I was a young mom, I wasn't sure what I was doing. I was young when I had my first daughter, and I had to depend on the Lord for wisdom, for counsel, for what to do with her when she was fussy, and she was fussy at times, and the Lord met me in that place, and my daughter, who is almost thirty now, has called me and thanked me for giving her life and for raising her up the way that I did, and for choosing to love and lead her, and I have not one regret, but I also know that in that season of my life I learned to not grow weary in doing well, and I also learned that when I asked the Lord for help, he met me there. He says in his word, draw near to me and I will draw near to you. And Mamas, I can tell you from experience that is 100% true, and it can be any time, day or night. So I just want to tell you tonight that I am seeing you. I know the hours you are awake and what you are doing, and it is not for nothing. The Lord is building a beautiful legacy through you. So keep going. So tonight, mamas, I want to pray a blessing over you from number six, twenty four through twenty six. May the Lord bless you and keep you, make his face to shine upon you, be gracious unto you, and give you peace. Amen. Until next time, mama, continue to persevere and take care.
