Tonight we will talk about the importance of being patient in life and in motherhood, mama.

Do you ever find that patience is a hard thing in motherhood or also in life? We're gonna talk about that tonight on Midlight Mamas. It's an interesting thing to talk about patience coming from me, who maybe could be considered the most impatient person in the world. Not impatient with my children all the time, but impatient with life circumstances. Sometimes when things aren't going fast enough or aren't going the way I would like, I struggle to have patience to wait and not force my own way because I do not want to wait. And I think the thing about patience in regards to life circumstances is it's kind of a control situation because patience requires us to lay down our own will. It requires us to wait when we want to move and go, and it means really ultimately putting our trust in the Lord and not in our own self. In fact, Psalm 27, 14 says, wait for the Lord, be strong, and let your heart take courage. Wait for the Lord. Waiting is active in this psalm, and it takes strength and it takes courage. And I think that sometimes we have this mistake of thinking when we think, if I just do it my way, then it will be done. But do we want to do it our way or do we want to have God's way? I think we all know the answer. We want God's way. But when you're in the moment of trying to make decisions or waiting upon the Lord for an answer, and it feels like a lot of time has gone by, it doesn't always go well to take things into our own hands. I think of Sarah, and I think of her situation when Abraham and her were supposed to have a baby, but time started passing and the promise wasn't fulfilled, so Sarah took it into her own hands, and she told Abraham to go ahead and have a baby with her maidservant, and that became Ishmael. And God had a promise waiting for Sarah, and it was Isaac, and he had promised her, and promised Abraham that that would come to fruition, but she didn't want to wait for it. And I think we can do that sometimes. We can just take things into our own hands versus waiting, trusting the Lord for the right answer, and not jumping in and trying to control the situation ourselves. So I want to take you now to Romans chapter 5, verses 3 through 4. We rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope. Endurance, which in this case is patience under pressure, is the bridge between hard seasons and hope. So if you are in a place where you are believing God for something or you are having to wait patiently for a long time, just know that we can have endurance with hope because that's what God is telling us to do. He wants to bridge that gap between those hard seasons and hope with his presence in our lives. And waiting is hard. It is in having patience when things aren't going the way we would like. In Romans chapter 12 and verse 12, it says, Rejoice in hope, be patient in a tribulation and be consistent in prayer. So if you feel like you are in a place of tribulation, continue to rejoice in hope and continue with constant prayer. I love how both of these verses in Romans remind us about hope that's coming when we are struggling with our patience, to remember that the Lord is doing something and to rest, not just not to do anything at all. Continue to serve your families, continue to do the things that God has called you to do daily while waiting and trusting in Him, having that patience, but yet along with that patience, a confident hope that God is in control and that he is working all things together for our good mamas, because he loves us and we are called according to his purposes. And then I love this one in First Corinthians chapter 13 and verse 4, where it says, Love is patient and kind. The very starting definition of real love is patience, and that's really perfect for us as mamas to remember when we feel stretched thin that love is patient. It is. And I want to show you Colossians chapter 3 and verse 12, which says, put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience. You see, mamas, we're called to put on patience like it's clothing, especially in the close relationships of our homes and with others. Isn't that an interesting concept to put on patience and kindness? But like literally, like we would choose to put on a piece of clothing. We choose to be patient, we choose to be kind. I want to put on kindness, I want to put on patience and meekness for my family. Waiting is actually something that takes courage and strength. In Psalm 27, 14, when he says, wait for the Lord, be strong, and let your hearts take courage, wait for the Lord. It's like it's showing us that patience is active. It's like very important to be active in your patience and in your waiting. And how do you do that? I think it comes in the form of trusting the Lord, continuing to serve faithfully, and just looking for the next thing God's gonna do in regards to that thing that you are patiently waiting for. So, mamas, continue to love your families through patience. Continue to love your families with kindness. And when you are in a place of just things aren't happening the way you want or the speed you want, know that God is in control and He has it. So, mamas, tonight I want to do something a little different. I usually leave you with a prayer of blessing, and I will do that. But first I want to pray for you specifically in regards to patience. So I'm gonna pray for you now. Lord Jesus, I pray for these mamas. Lord, I pray you would help them with patience, God. If it's patience with a child or if it's patience with a situation, God, I pray that you would help them by reminding them that you are in control and that they have nothing to be worried about, and in their waiting, they can trust in you. Thank you, God. In your name I pray, amen. And now I want to leave you with a blessing from number six, twenty four through twenty six. May the Lord bless you and keep you, make his face to shine upon you, be gracious unto you and give you peace. Amen. Mamas, it's gonna work out for you, and God has perfect timing. So just rest in that tonight. Until next time, mamas, take care and wait well. We'll talk again soon.
