Tonight we will talk about how God’s love will not let go of you, Mama.
God's love will never let go. We're gonna talk about that tonight on Midlight Mamas. Sometimes I think that we wonder if God would ever let go of us, if we could just go too far, so far away from where we should be, whether as a mama or as a woman, that the Lord would not look to retrieve us. But we know that that is something we can see in the Bible, that God's love will not let go of us, especially for those who love Him. And I think this is a tender topic for us as mamas because sometimes it feels like we're barely holding on, whether it's a long night of nursing, the weight of worries, or the quiet fear that we're failing. It's just that sometimes we feel like our grip is weak, but the good news is his love, it never loosens. There is a verse in scripture that I think we can identify with, and it's found in Isaiah 49, 15 through 16, and it says, Can a woman forget her nursing child that she could have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you. Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands. God uses the image of a nursing mother, which is like the strongest natural bond ever, and still says that his love is stronger and more faithful, even than that. That is a tender place because we as mamas are held and loved by a God who doesn't let go of us, even when we are in a place of exhaustion, or a place of feeling like we're unknown, or just feeling like failure. God says, You are engraved on the palm of my hands. The Lord loves you like that, Mama. I'm gonna take you now to Romans chapter 8 and verse 38 through 39, where it says, For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. So that says nothing, not exhaustion, not failure, not fear, not the long night, can pull you out or away from his love, Mama. And another verse from Scripture found in Jeremiah 31, 3 that is precious, and it says, I have loved you with an everlasting love, therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you everlasting, not based on how well you mothered today. And mamas, you're gonna have days where you feel like you barely survived, you barely held on, and then you're gonna have days where you just overflow with this joy that just is unstoppable as a mama. But on these days, just remember, whether it's joy-filled or survival, that God has loved you with an everlasting love, and he says that he will continue his faithfulness to you. He also says in Hebrews 13 5, I will never leave you nor forsake you. I just think it's such a beautiful thing to know that we are serving a God who loves us and won't let go of us. When my children were little, my older children, we used to sing a song that would say the words, Your love never fails and it never runs out on me. And the chorus would repeat, Your love never fails and never gives up, and it never runs out on me. And I'm gonna be honest with you, this was during a time where we had experienced that as a family, meaning me and my children, the older ones, we had experienced a love that did go away, and a love that was no longer with us. And it wasn't the Lord, because it was a human, um, but the Lord didn't ever leave us or forsake us or fail us or leave us alone. The Lord was with us and he kept his hand upon us and continued to keep us safe and bless us. And I think this is why it's such a tender topic to me tonight for this episode that God won't let go of you because it's easy to think he would, because maybe someone in life has failed you, maybe a human has. Maybe things just had a hard time working out the way you wanted and it didn't happen for you, the way you expected. But I'm telling you this: no matter where you are in life, God will not let go of you because you are engraved on the palm of his hand and he loves you with an everlasting love. And we also know that God's love is not dependent on our strength or our consistency or our ability to keep it all together. His love simply does not let go. Mama, keep doing it, keep walking, keep fighting the fight, keep doing the hard things. In fact, I think one of the most important things to do is the next right thing. And that was a quote from one of my favorite women, Elizabeth Elliot. Elizabeth Elliot often shared simple wisdom, especially in seasons of loss or overwhelm or uncertainty. And this is a total quote from her, and it says, I don't know any simpler formula for peace, for relief, from stress and anxiety than the very practical, very down-to-earth word of wisdom, do the next thing. That has gotten me through more agonies than anything else I could recommend. And that's Elizabeth Elliot. It's interesting because sometimes we get to the place in motherhood where we don't always even know what the next thing is to do. In that case, I would think of what your family needs next. Is it a meal? Is it a diaper change? Is it clean clothes? Is it a bath? What does your family need? And also, mama, when we are serving our families and putting their needs up ahead, we somehow feel lighter meeting those needs. Just a tip. So tonight, mamas, I want you to remember that you serve a God who won't let go of you, that even on those times when you don't feel you're at your best, God won't let go of you and he loves you so very much. So tonight I'd like to share a blessing with you. From number six, twenty four through twenty six. May the Lord bless you and keep you, make his face to shine upon you, be gracious unto you and give you peace. Amen. Until next time, Mamas, take care and know that you are engraved in the palm of God's hand. And we'll talk again soon.
