For years now, every Thursday, two best friends who find themselves often so in sync they've dubbed the phenomena "Mind Twins" watch movies. Alternating on who picks the movie on a weekly basis, this duo decided to start a movie podcast. Because why not?

This Movie Night JD and Mariko open their series with Wish Upon (2017) from John R. Leonetti! Jonathan Shannon (Ryan Phillippe) was just your everyday ordinary trash collecting single saxophone dad, when he gives his daughter Clare (Joey King) a mysterious music box that will grant the owner seven wishes. Yet not all is as it seems, as these wishes cause some problems for the Wishmaster... nope that's another movie. Anyway. WISH UPON!

SPEAKER_03

It can't be an anime. I don't know any anime movies, so I think we're good there.

SPEAKER_04

I know a few.

SPEAKER_03

Oh no. I I don't even like this.

unknown

Oh thank god.

SPEAKER_04

I will edit out us shitting on it would be smart. Um or I will put it in the beginning of the episode. That'll bring the people in. People love that. Because one, it's not about what we're talking about, so it sets it up poorly. And then it's also something people love. They're like, what?

SPEAKER_11

The fuck this show. This is horse shit.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, that's how we get one stars. That's how we get the stars. I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

Um I like the mind twin one.

SPEAKER_04

Mind twin movie night?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I think it's it establishes and these people know what they're getting into.

SPEAKER_04

A movie night with mind twins? I don't is mind twin a thing? I don't know. I thought it was just something we came up with.

SPEAKER_03

Mind twins. Yeah, but I feel like with the con I don't know.

SPEAKER_11

Look at mind twins. Twin.

SPEAKER_03

A mind twin refers to a concept of a highly personalized AI assistant. Like the app Twin Mind that acts as your second brain. Oh, I don't like that.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. That's us.

SPEAKER_03

That sounds horrible.

SPEAKER_04

That's us to a T.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it's just talking about this AI app called Twin Mind.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, that's on the same. Boo.

SPEAKER_03

Mind Twin, human first AI assistant. Uh no, Mind Twin is not a thing. Okay. I think we have our own thing.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. I don't even know how we came up with that. I feel like you did.

SPEAKER_03

Maybe. I don't remember. It was that was six years ago. Oh my gosh. Going on seven. It's closer to seven than six at this point.

SPEAKER_04

It all started because you were like, hey, do you want to talk about movies?

SPEAKER_03

I like horror movies. Do you like horror movies?

SPEAKER_04

You just I mean shook me. I was all confused, and the break room was like, oh okay. I still remember that by the time we got back to our desks, I was talking about Lord of the Rings. I don't know how I got there, but I did lead it back there.

SPEAKER_03

I just feel like that's just your natural state.

SPEAKER_04

I don't think I've ever tracked it before in any other personal interaction I've had when I first met someone. Like I don't remember that with any any of my other best friends, but like not that I have other bizarre. Uh no, but you know what I mean. And uh I but yeah, I I distinctly remember Lord of the Rings. I guess the closest would be I mean, there's one time at a party, it's more of I remember cornering someone and talking about Lord of the Rings at them. But that's about it.

SPEAKER_03

You you cornered them?

SPEAKER_04

The way okay, so the way um kitchen works, where he's like a kitchenette thing. Like an island kind of vibe. Not we're like yeah, a half wall. So it you can there's some stools there and you you can look out to the rest of like his living room. And but that means there's really only one entrance to the kitchen, and it's like a mini aisle thing, and you've got like the uh fridge and everything, and the counters, and then the island thing that like the half wall. And when someone goes in there, for example, to grab a drink or a mix or whatever.

SPEAKER_03

They are naturally in a corner.

SPEAKER_04

They're now in a corner in which by we're in the same area, I could you know hold my position and socially restrain them.

SPEAKER_03

In my head, someone is opening this fridge door, closing it, and then all of a sudden you're there. The Lord of the Rings.

SPEAKER_01

Potatoes!

SPEAKER_03

Spoil mashum. I mean, oh God, leave me alone for the love of God.

SPEAKER_04

Maybe that is how it happened to them. They just closed the door and then just standing there with a bow tie.

SPEAKER_02

Like, you want to talk about Lord of the Rings? And they're like, ah it's too many of you guys.

SPEAKER_04

Uh not enough.

SPEAKER_02

Not enough.

SPEAKER_04

Speaking of not enough, so the movie today is Wish Upon. You've heard me talk about it a lot. I've got some favorite quotes I've said at you that you have no context for. This I didn't talk about until now because it was really important to me. And now we're finally here. Uh the director of it, his name is John Leonetti. Do you know what else he's directed?

SPEAKER_11

No.

SPEAKER_04

Does the name sound familiar to you at all?

SPEAKER_03

Yes. But I can't I can't place it.

SPEAKER_04

It's one of your favorite movies, actually.

SPEAKER_03

Oh no.

SPEAKER_04

He's also the director on a little movie you might have heard of called Mortal Kombat Annihilation. Not kidding.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, everything's making sensed out.

SPEAKER_04

So every time for years, when you've been talking about Morocco, like even today when you were talking about it.

SPEAKER_03

I was just talking about a bad movie that I love. You're welcome in Annihilation. I hate it. It's a bad movie. It's awful. I love it.

SPEAKER_04

And it's been years. I've been holding it in. I've been thinking about this for so long. And I can't bring it up because I'm like, one day I will show you this and it will be worth it. And it's been movie nights and movie nights, and finally just like the friend trapped in the kitchenette. I caught you quartered.

SPEAKER_03

I have now said friend.

SPEAKER_04

You close the fridge, and I'm like, you wanna watch Wishapon? No! You're like, oh no! You dig on multiverses? Wait. You dig on multiverses? Yes, I'm so excited. The movie is basically your classic monkey's paw. It's Wishapon.

SPEAKER_03

See ya.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Hold on to that, because you're not gonna like it after.

SPEAKER_03

Hold on tight. Let's go.

SPEAKER_04

Uh Wishapon, and that's the movie. Without getting spoilers, we want to hit play.

SPEAKER_02

Do I want to?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, right. We're starting to go fund me.

SPEAKER_01

GoFundMe.

SPEAKER_04

Are they starting to go fund me? But then also holding out a baseball cap with money in it.

SPEAKER_12

Something happened to the dog. If nothing happens to this dog, I will go on a home set up baby trick.

SPEAKER_03

What the fuck was that? I don't I have so many questions. I don't even know where to begin.

SPEAKER_11

Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_03

Ryan, uh either you lose weirdo girl or keep you lose your cousin, and I think you know it worked out for him. Yep. So there's that.

SPEAKER_04

Yep.

SPEAKER_03

What was the deal with the mom?

SPEAKER_04

I don't know how she got the box. She wished for a bunch of stuff, and I guess she would didn't like it, so then she wrapped it up, threw it in a dumpster, and then hanged herself.

SPEAKER_03

Did she wish that her husband was cool? And that's why he originally started playing the saxophone.

SPEAKER_04

That actually would explain that. But then maybe she got worried because he was too cool to be married to, because like he's a big deal now.

SPEAKER_03

So she's a he's way hotter than me. I s I did not think this through.

SPEAKER_04

Make him less cool. He's like, yeah, that's fucking trash.

SPEAKER_03

Oh my god, that would make so much sense. Dad, what are you doing? It's a hobby. Jeez, Claire.

SPEAKER_02

What are you talking about? I'm just hanging out with Carl, picking up some stuff.

SPEAKER_10

Dad, we live in a freaking mansion. What else do you need? Claire. No, forget about it.

SPEAKER_04

I love it. The confrontational scene. Like, Dad, you need to stop drinking, but just about him fucking picking trash with his buddy.

SPEAKER_03

Dad, you need to stop that. It's ruining our lives.

SPEAKER_04

He's just clicking out the spread. Go with the dumpsters. It's really not that harmful, too. It's fine. Just leave him alone.

SPEAKER_03

If you don't stop, you're gonna lose your daughter forever. There's a group for people like you that can help you.

SPEAKER_04

You have a space. I'm dad, and I'm a d I don't remember the character's name. I'm dad. And I'm a dumpster diver. I dad.

SPEAKER_03

What if she does wish I missed it? I was too busy trash.

SPEAKER_04

For her dad to stop being so embarrassing. Oh. Because her dad's gonna become hot. Like Saracha hot. It's due to finding characteristics because of the wishes.

SPEAKER_03

It's so hot and cool. I mean, he plays a saxophone. Yeah, but he likes collecting trash, so never mind. And let me tell you, super uncool.

SPEAKER_04

That's not hot sauce.

SPEAKER_03

Like I don't know what that woman wished for.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I never goes into that. She wishes for her mom to be light, and then immediately like her mom comes in. It's sunny, then the mom goes in with two other kids, and then siblings, I guess, and then they're like, It's your birthday, have some cake.

SPEAKER_02

She's like, Oh my god, glitters and rainbow and sunshine and flowers.

SPEAKER_01

I wish my mother never committed suicide. I missed you so much. You missed me so much. Happy birthday, guy! Hold up, downstairs, you know, chop chop.

SPEAKER_04

Happy birthday.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, it's something your birthday's getting sex for me playing some happy birthday.

SPEAKER_04

Just like that, he was hot again.

SPEAKER_11

Just like that.

SPEAKER_04

Saracha hot.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my gosh, and that seems she goes flying across the street. She went flying at a diagonal which direction just pow.

SPEAKER_11

What?

SPEAKER_04

I was just trying to drive, winner. The fucking shot.

SPEAKER_03

Across the frickin' road.

SPEAKER_04

The school's right there. Why were you going that fast?

SPEAKER_03

At an angle. She went diagonally.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

And I don't understand why. That's the other one. Because the box thingy said to give it away. And it'll cancel the wishes.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, so for that one, I think uh not not that I'm trying to find this movie. I think because she used all seven to her wishes, though, then that means she has to die.

SPEAKER_03

Got she? Is that the rule?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, because that was the thing. They were saying, like, if you if you wish all seven though, then it'll kill you because that's what happened to uh oh my god, what's the actor's name?

SPEAKER_03

Uh oh. Jerry O'Connell and his wife.

SPEAKER_04

Exactly. That's why after Jerry O'Connell's character where he uh used all the wishes and then died.

SPEAKER_11

Mysteriously.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, because something burst into his house. They didn't explain that. Like why why did something go and he was ugly boogie too.

SPEAKER_03

I I have to look up why Jerry O'Connell is in this movie. I don't honestly know. I are they friends? They've gotta be friends or something. Jerry. What are you doing in there, Jerry?

SPEAKER_05

You know the number on the box that we couldn't figure out? Well, I did. It's a military ID number belonging to an airman by the name of Arthur Sands. That's him.

SPEAKER_03

Is that Freddy Mercury?

SPEAKER_04

It actually looks a lot like a military.

SPEAKER_03

Strong jaw. Good-looking man.

SPEAKER_06

A few years later, he opened up a very successful car dealership in Jersey. He lost his best friend in a freak accident. Here's the kicker. And that's him six months later.

unknown

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_03

Oh. He was dressed up as Freddie Mercury in that picture.

SPEAKER_06

He was actually. In the last five years or so, the box resurfaced again in Cleveland with a man named Lawrence Hart.

SPEAKER_03

Jerry O'Connell.

SPEAKER_06

He went to the year in Sweetheart and has two daughters.

SPEAKER_03

That was his wife. That's what I think what I mean. Why are they in here?

SPEAKER_06

His daughter's drowned. His wife died in a car.

SPEAKER_03

Wait, hang on. What is happening?

SPEAKER_04

Lost his mind. I have no idea why he's in this movie.

SPEAKER_02

Are they friends with the director?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I don't know. Alright, I got just finished up kangaroo jack. I got to.

SPEAKER_11

Why? Why are they here?

SPEAKER_03

What was that? Rebecca Romain, we really need a picture of you and your husband. I've got several. No, we need a picture of you and your husband. It's for a movie. It's just a thing. Nobody's gonna notice the cameo.

SPEAKER_06

After seven wishes, the Yagui claims the soul. Sorry.

SPEAKER_04

That's what I was saying. Like, you're gonna see someone in the movie, and you're not gonna know why.

SPEAKER_02

Why is Jerry in there?

SPEAKER_04

Why is Jerry O'Connell in my movie?

SPEAKER_03

O'Connell has an uncredited cameo as a previous of a music box. I know. Why? Why is he in there?

SPEAKER_11

Uh single. Oh, I'm looking it up.

SPEAKER_03

Why is Jerry O Connell? That's not how you spell it. Connell. What's it called? Push a pong.

SPEAKER_11

Push a pong. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

The cameo is likely used in trailers to draw attention to the film leveraging his recognizable face for a popular horror movie. Is that it? That's the only reason why he's in there.

SPEAKER_04

I never was able to figure out why.

SPEAKER_03

Jerry. I like to think that the director was like, hey, if I got a picture of you and your wife, he's like, why? It's just, you know, for the movie.

SPEAKER_04

You think he like showed up on there? He's like, how did you get this? He's like, no, let's start rolling. An action. Oh, and your character dies. Wait, it says here I'd have like four more pages. Nope, he's dead now. Anyway.

SPEAKER_03

All right, get out of here. All right, bye. Bye. He got an uncredited cameo. No one even mentioned the fact that it's a picture of him twice. That is bonkers. This movie got a 20% shocker on Modern Tomatoes. I like this. Ed Potton of the Times also gave it one out of five stars, writing, Seldom has a teen protagonist been as annoying as the one in this high concept high school horror. Somewhere in here, there's a message about the powers of peer pressure and the cruelty of social media that's submerged below all this stagey angst and telegraph peril. By the end, you're hoping that Claire gets her just desserts. And I think she got a little bit more than dessert.

SPEAKER_04

Did you add that last time? I had the last part. That's very that's very modicum, this reviewer.

SPEAKER_03

That doesn't sound like an interviewer kind of switched vibes there for a second.

SPEAKER_04

I would like to thank the screenwriter for a lot of lines in this movie, but specifically, I would like to thank them for the line of what's so funny, winner.

SPEAKER_00

What's so funny, winner? I'm just gonna start calling everyone a winner.

SPEAKER_04

Like your smegma, but like ultimate.

SPEAKER_03

I won't say that one because that's just gross. Your smegma. But like ultimate smagma. I can call people a winner at work.

SPEAKER_04

No, don't yeah, don't say in office like you're like ultimate smegma.

SPEAKER_10

Smagma. It's a noun. A melodorous, opaque white or yellow substance produced by the sebaceous glands of male and female genitalia.

SPEAKER_03

But I can call someone in a very sneer voice like winner. Yeah, winner.

SPEAKER_01

Get off the road, winner!

SPEAKER_03

I couldn't even ante it up and go winner, winner, chicken dinner. That's a compliment, but you said it like an insult. I don't know how to feel.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, because you're a winner. Cause you're a winner. Hold up. You dig on multiverses? Wait.

SPEAKER_03

You dig on multiverses? Because I'm a slut for wontons.

SPEAKER_05

Uh well, she's a slut for wontons.

SPEAKER_04

Oh no, but like your dad is like serious hot. Like Sriracha hot.

SPEAKER_01

Your dad is like serious hot sauce. Like Sriracha Hots.

SPEAKER_03

It would be really cool if she was like, I wish my dad was cool. And the next scene, him playing saxphone, was the beginning of Careless Whisper.

SPEAKER_04

Ooh. That would have been I I don't I don't know if they could have afforded it because Probably not. That would have been cool. That would have been very cool. Again, we gotta stop doing songs because then I will have to edit around that because I cannot afford songs.

SPEAKER_03

Uh I don't know what the rules are for that.

SPEAKER_04

I I think it has to be less than like seven seconds. I know like you can't get super into music because like movies are not they're more okay, but music people are very litigious.

SPEAKER_03

It was a movie. Uh that was a ride.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Why?

SPEAKER_10

Made me feel special.

SPEAKER_06

Is there anything you wish for that you can't live without?

SPEAKER_10

No.

SPEAKER_06

See, you don't need it.

SPEAKER_04

Are you seriously gonna go try and do it?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, what are you doing? What's happening? It's your life. The humans aren't humaning in this movie.

SPEAKER_04

No. They really aren't.

SPEAKER_11

Where are you in here?

SPEAKER_04

Uh yeah, there's some uh great scenes in the movie. I specifically love the shot the dad with the chainsaw. Or the dad holding the ladder for his buddy using the chainsaw in the most dangerous way possible.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, that's what's I'm sure me doing a balancing act with his chainsaw.

SPEAKER_11

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_03

Not like I can't just hop off ladder and scooch the ladder over a few inches. I'm closer. No, I'll reach. You'll be fine. What could go wrong? What could go wrong?

SPEAKER_04

And then it slips uh after the ladder coming up outs, and he like throws the chainsaw down and he just does a hard cut to her, and you just see the blood spatter on her face.

SPEAKER_11

No.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my god, you guys like Cool dad. No.

SPEAKER_04

No, not my cool dad.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, her friend is gonna be so disappointed. Because she's never gonna recover from this.

SPEAKER_04

Also, yeah, so when she wishes for him to be cool, then he's playing saxophone. Like it's pretty abrupt of a cut.

SPEAKER_11

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

And then they're all watching him play the saxophone with his two other friends who I don't know who they are.

SPEAKER_03

I was really hoping one of them was Carl.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, it was so big too, but it's not.

SPEAKER_03

Wow, Carl plays the drums. Who knew?

SPEAKER_04

They're just two random people in his house that are playing for him, and he's playing, and they're watching him on the stairs for I don't know what reason. Because he's cool. Because he's cool. That was their version of cool tattoo. It never comes up like in any other interactions. Like, oh yeah, that you're you're this guy's daughter. He's really a great guy, or he's very cool. Like cool. The screamer's like, how do I come up with cool? Hmm. Well, okay, here's what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna put him in the living room. Two buddies. He's playing the saxophone. Yeah. Okay, but he we have him in an earlier scene playing the saxophone. Okay. But her friends are super into it.

SPEAKER_03

And he's got friends now.

SPEAKER_04

And he's got two friends.

SPEAKER_03

Besides Carl. Carl is a winner. I think it would have been really funny if she says, I wish my dad was cool, and then you hear a saxophone, and the girl's watching cool dad, and the camera pans over, and it's like Idris Elba playing the saxophone.

SPEAKER_04

Please recast on how I'm like, wow, your dad is so hot. Your dad is like hot, serious hot well. Like sterile rock. And then just hit yourself up. The rest of the movie. Yeah. Except for when the dreams come out.

SPEAKER_03

And then you just did sort of fry and believe again.

SPEAKER_04

And then as soon as she gets the box back, it's itch yourself up again.

SPEAKER_03

Playing happy birthday on the sacks. Just said it would have made the movie ten times better.

SPEAKER_04

That actually that honestly would have been like amazing. I would oh, okay. I'm pumped out they didn't do it. There's no changes to him other than his her friends like being super into him. That's it.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, that was it. I I do feel like uh character-wise, didn't care about anybody. I was most invested in cooldown. Like he was the most I was invested in.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, but cooldown has problems.

SPEAKER_03

Like what? Name five.

SPEAKER_04

Well, he's uh a hoarder and a dumpster diver, and his problem is that, and that's it. But like I like that she has to confront him. I don't know, I just heart me wonders. I would like to imagine in the screenplay, again, I can only have theories, but like, did he show up to pick her up at school? And everyone was like, oh, that's the that's the Aoki guy, you know, like that's the drunk guy, and like it's like, hey, where's my daughter? She goes here. And then she shows up, like, oh my god, you're embarrassing me. And then he's like, that's fine. But then they were like, hey, we can't do alcoholism or whatever, because we want PG13, I guess, and maybe it won't sell well. They just did a word search and then just changed all the words to hoarding and dumpster diving. So every time he's doing the drinking stuff, he's dumpster diving, but not at all. It's word search because they didn't find every instance of it. So sometimes he's still drinking in the middle of the day.

SPEAKER_03

Just having a brew ski with my new curtain rods I found in the dump. Having a good old time.

SPEAKER_04

Leaves there and then she bumps into it and like dad, come on!

SPEAKER_10

What? We don't have room for all of this crap!

SPEAKER_02

I'm gonna use them.

SPEAKER_10

What do you what do you mean, huh? Dad, seriously, you can't get rid of anything. What would mom say, huh? Dad. Dad, are you listening to God?

SPEAKER_03

But that is kind of the weird thing, because when they're first doing the dumpster diving, they're like, oh yeah, that'll be worth a pretty penny. I don't think that was an actual line, but it could have been. But he never sells anything. So I don't really understand why they're dumpster diving.

SPEAKER_04

I don't know why either. I don't know if that's his job. I don't think it is. Because they seem to be doing fine.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, clearly. Because when they got kicked out of the mansion, we don't even know why that happened. They didn't even bother to come up with a reason.

SPEAKER_04

Taxes. I thought she said something like, oh, they didn't pay taxes the whole time styling.

SPEAKER_03

It's like taxes. Is that how that works?

SPEAKER_04

And Wish Upon it is. I have no idea. Yes, the the government's like, alright, we'll let you out the hook, but you have to give us one of your houses, and it has to be the cool one.

SPEAKER_03

Cool one it is. Then I'm like, how much taxes did you pay or didn't pay? What what do what does like uh I have so many questions. They're like we're gonna keep this cool, awesome mansion. We don't have to pay for anything else. I'm like, that is not how living works. That's it. That's how it goes.

SPEAKER_11

Oh god.

SPEAKER_03

There's so many things you have to pay for. Also, you have another house. You did not sell, clearly.

SPEAKER_04

No, they didn't. They just go right back to it. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Like, do we even consider selling that house to pay for things? Yeah, I don't invest the economy and help out a lot.

SPEAKER_04

It was kind of like a child, childish like screenwriting, because not to be at the screenwriter too much. They just go right back to the house that they lived in before. And I know like that's the crux of the movie. Yeah. But the people who died stay dead. They don't like go directly back.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, I was really hoping for a zombie max. I'm like, it's reversed. That means he comes back to life, yes?

SPEAKER_04

No, but yeah, he stayed dead until you go back in time. Which means that technically the only people died, uh only if you dig on multiverses, would be would like would be the mom and the daughter.

SPEAKER_11

So Right.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, and then uh Paul, uh, she wishes for Paul to fall in love with her.

SPEAKER_03

Which he was very chill about until the end.

SPEAKER_04

Until he's not, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I wish that whole middle boy would fall badly in love with me. Oh power choice of words. I love you.

SPEAKER_02

I love you! And I'm mad about it.

SPEAKER_04

Why wish I didn't love you? See, I would waste all my wishes on flaw.

SPEAKER_03

I g no one can get hurt that way. What are you talking about?

SPEAKER_07

I'm just not into it anymore. It's not you. It's just just I can't date someone I don't have feelings for.

SPEAKER_12

Damn, Omar. According to my subtitles. I didn't actually learn her name.

SPEAKER_03

Maybe that's why he dumped you. Jesus.

SPEAKER_08

So will you?

SPEAKER_04

Didn't ask her anything.

SPEAKER_08

He just walked up to her and said, go out with me. Look, I know it's a short notice, but see new scavengers coming up, and I thought it'd be fun if we went.

SPEAKER_10

Paul, you just broke up with your girlfriend. Like two seconds.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, he's just walking in the hall.

SPEAKER_03

I can still see her. She's still walking away. My shoulder still stings from where she slammed into me.

SPEAKER_04

Never hasn't been truer. You just broke up with your girlfriend.

SPEAKER_03

Calm down.

SPEAKER_04

They had him stalk outside her window and take pictures of her.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, didn't we all go to that phase?

SPEAKER_04

He's madly in love with her, but he's just like stupid too, because she's like, hold on, what is this? Is this all me? He's like, yeah, what's the problem? He's like out of touch.

SPEAKER_10

Well, let me see your phone now, or I'm out.

SPEAKER_08

They're just pictures of you. Even cute when you're sleeping.

SPEAKER_10

You've been spying on me.

SPEAKER_08

Oh, yeah?

SPEAKER_10

What is wrong with you?

SPEAKER_08

Are you mad?

SPEAKER_10

Yes, I'm mad.

SPEAKER_08

Smoking when you're mad.

SPEAKER_10

I think maybe that we need a break.

SPEAKER_08

I don't.

SPEAKER_10

I'm just trying to be nice. Paul, I'm breaking up with you. I gotta get out of here.

SPEAKER_09

Claire, wait. This isn't over. Claire!

SPEAKER_04

Like, why are you sneaking off and running if you know that this is wrong? But then the next time when you're caught about it, you're like, yeah, no big deal. I love you and stuff. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

People love to.

SPEAKER_04

And then she tries to kill her himself in her room, and nobody talks about that.

SPEAKER_03

They just are we're just not gonna discuss this.

SPEAKER_10

What are you doing here?

SPEAKER_09

Why haven't you answered my text?

SPEAKER_10

You need to leave right now.

SPEAKER_09

What if I said I don't want to live without you? And I don't want you to live without me.

SPEAKER_10

Please, you just just leave.

SPEAKER_09

So we're done?

SPEAKER_10

Oh my god. Yes.

SPEAKER_04

She said madly in love. I love you.

SPEAKER_03

That's the better option. Oh, yeah, this problem solved.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, that one really fixed itself for you.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. You know what could have ended. Much more worse. Wow, they're just gonna go right past that. That was that was barely a blip in the movie. Yeah, I know. Anyways, moving on.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Anyway.

SPEAKER_03

Yep, so sad. Anywho, where's my music box that grants magical wishes?

SPEAKER_04

That's a that's a sentence.

SPEAKER_03

Acknowledge that. You could have taken out of the movie, nothing would have changed.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, a hundred percent.

SPEAKER_03

No one talks about it, acknowledges it. Nothing. It was a very weird scene.

SPEAKER_04

Not only does it never come in, even when you see him again back with his girlfriend.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

He doesn't nobody nothing. He just looks at her kind of sideways and then they keep going on.

unknown

Yep.

SPEAKER_03

Girlfriend takes him back. No problem.

SPEAKER_04

Yep. No problem. You tried to kill yourself in front of this girl in her room. But no, you're good.

SPEAKER_03

Oh my god, you're so edgy.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. She's she has a garbage compactor thing. Uh that's not the word. Not garbage compactor. I think it was Star Wars.

SPEAKER_03

Disposal.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, and then like she puts her braid in the sink like she's really crazy. Did she click? I thought I saw her click it, too. It's like it wasn't her knee. I thought I saw her go and actually click it while putting her hair in the drain.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, yeah, I think so. What the fuck?

SPEAKER_10

No, not the neighbor.

SPEAKER_04

I'm getting a sinking feeling for her.

SPEAKER_03

Don't let it be horrible. Take anybody else. You gotta get the pot. Get the pot. Get the pot. No. Oh, just explode the house and make it end.

SPEAKER_04

Damn it. Just put a garbage disposal thing right there? Just where you can accidentally bump it?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, that's a worse place.

SPEAKER_04

You want you want kids able to reach it easily. Yeah. Everyone does that with their garbage disposal. Make sure you get your braid all the way in there. You know how you just leave your hair? She was trying to die.

SPEAKER_03

She was just asking for it. I don't even care anymore. That's fine. And she can easily reach it.

SPEAKER_04

No, this is tense. There's just no way.

SPEAKER_03

Wait, what happened?

SPEAKER_04

I think it broke her neck.

SPEAKER_03

Is that what happened?

SPEAKER_04

I think, yeah, you ever get your hair to break her.

SPEAKER_03

I can't even think of an example right now.

SPEAKER_04

It's stronger, but also her hair is stronger than her neck bones were. Her spine was weaker than her neck.

SPEAKER_03

Her scalp is intact, let me tell you.

SPEAKER_04

Sturdy.

SPEAKER_03

She is a sturdy woman. Oh, not in the spine.

SPEAKER_04

Why is this happening? And then that leads to the best scene where then they do the her body being crowned.

SPEAKER_03

And the girls look a lot better than I anticipated.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, it looks fine. It's like slightly discolored, I guess.

SPEAKER_03

That's about it.

SPEAKER_04

She's been inside for a few days. That makes sense. And then uh then you just see the uh the the hearers scream that's not the actor scream at all. At all. It's like it's just a stock scream. And then it cuts back to her halfway while the screen clip is going. They didn't even cut it right. He's cut back to her. You still hear the scream, but she's not screaming. Mrs.

SPEAKER_10

DeLuca, are you home? It's Claire.

unknown

Mrs. DeLuca!

SPEAKER_03

Oh, you're gonna find your dead neighbor, and she's gonna look gross.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. Did you see that? They ADR'd the scream? That was weird. Because they cut back to her and she's not screaming. I know.

SPEAKER_01

That was weird.

SPEAKER_04

Or not even ADR'd. That was just a stock scream. That wasn't her. That's fucking so weird. We can't afford her to come back, guys, so find me a scream. Because the audience can't infer that she's upset by this. She looked horrified, so we need the screen. We need it. No, just cut back to her looking like she's not screaming. I don't care.

SPEAKER_11

Oh, it was Yeah, it was bad.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Yeah. So yeah. The movie is Seven Wishes, Seven Deaths, and uh sequel to Seven Rides for Seven Brothers. I don't think I've seen that. What?

SPEAKER_03

Oh my gosh. It's an old movie.

SPEAKER_04

Oh. Okay. Well now I've lost my cinema crowd.

SPEAKER_03

Uh God. I don't remember much about it. Well, there's it's it's in the title. It's not much more to that. Seven Brothers, Seven Brothers. I think it's a musical. Okay. If I remember correctly. But um God, I saw that once when I was in like middle school because my friend Mackenzie was really into it.

SPEAKER_04

So naturally you immediately remembered a lot about it to bring it up here.

SPEAKER_03

That's how my brain works.

SPEAKER_04

You saw characters that are actors and then you immediately like know their names and everything. Like, what the fuck? I don't know these people.

SPEAKER_03

My silly brain.

SPEAKER_04

Um, but yeah, and then um she dreams or sleep wishes for her mom to come back, and then it's suddenly her birthday, and kids come running in saying, Happy birthday. We got you cake.

SPEAKER_03

You got you cake. Yeah, they said little twins I've never seen in my entire life. Twins!

SPEAKER_04

They never show up again too, so that's picturesque, perfect life.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, until Carl chops off my father's head with the chainsaw.

SPEAKER_04

Uh he went out on a limb to do that, yeah. Yeah, uh so it's seven where the wishes were okay, I'm just term make sure that I can summarize it for the podcast. So she wishes to be that the girl with rot that bullies her and calls her a winner a lot.

SPEAKER_00

What's so funny? Winner.

SPEAKER_04

Um the one that is S Magma E. And then Darcy Rot. Darcy. Is that is that really her name? Pretty sure. Holy shit.

SPEAKER_10

I wish that Darcy Chapman would just I don't know, but just like go rot. What?

SPEAKER_04

You know how you say that?

SPEAKER_02

Just go rot!

SPEAKER_11

Ew.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. So then yeah, uh she rots, boy likes her, but that like doesn't really take effect for a long time until suddenly it really does.

SPEAKER_03

It really does.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, okay, wait. I do want to say with you though, that scene where he's he breaks up with her, like it she's with the Abrector.

SPEAKER_03

And then the girlfriend with me? You just broke up with your girlfriend.

SPEAKER_04

Two seconds ago. You see him walk right over to her, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Like you were only like six feet down that way.

SPEAKER_04

He takes like eight steps, he goes walking over, and he's like, hey, you wanna go to the whatever event with me?

SPEAKER_03

And it's just the way she says the events that these kids go to.

SPEAKER_04

An effigy, like I think I think it was like a Guy Fox thing. That was bizarre.

SPEAKER_03

It's more of a uh college thing, I feel like, if you're gonna see that in a movie.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, it is. Like and it was under a bridge too, which like they went off campus for a high school thing and burned a Viking thing.

SPEAKER_03

Right. Maybe that's more of a college feel than a high schooler's like if parties at a house, okay. That checks. I wasn't my attendy, but it's whatever. Uh making this about me now.

SPEAKER_04

And suddenly the episode became all about you.

SPEAKER_03

Became my therapy session. Uh but yeah, having it underneath the bridge, burning shit. Uh I'm like, yeah, it's not really high schooler. I don't know if this guy ever went to high school.

SPEAKER_04

I'm the director. Yeah, or like he did so like in a in a different time, like, ah, walls, that was he, and then suddenly he's like, in Greece. Sure. And then that's it. And then that's his high school, because no one's acting like high schoolers there.

SPEAKER_11

No.

SPEAKER_04

So yeah, the boy like uh dad cool, um, which again he really doesn't change. Uh they learn the with the Chinese girl.

SPEAKER_03

I think uh even though she's on screen for such a very Short amount of time. She is my favorite character.

SPEAKER_01

That's a bummer.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, right in the eye.

SPEAKER_04

The the blood price, uh, and the phrases and all that. The box that was coppery is now red and black. Yep. And then what are the what the other wish was then be popular and which that this was, and then the Rome loved her, and then and the rich thing where he falls in the tub.

SPEAKER_11

No.

SPEAKER_04

Uh I will say he looks a little tuby in this game.

SPEAKER_03

Oh.

SPEAKER_04

Oh.

SPEAKER_03

I'm not as talented. Something something bad. Am I right? Got him. Got him.

SPEAKER_02

No.

SPEAKER_04

I love the thing.

SPEAKER_11

Why? I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know why they decided he should get up out of the fucking bath and slam his head in there. It's like a cut back.

SPEAKER_04

Uh the grandpa Uncle August. I remember his name was August, because when he died, I was like, guess it's September. I didn't say it because it's two years.

SPEAKER_11

Guess it's September.

SPEAKER_04

Because his name is August, so when he's the August is over, it's because it's September.

SPEAKER_11

But that's a great one. So funny.

SPEAKER_04

And yeah, and then he die, uh he dies. Well, he he falls from the tub and then gets up. It could have been a life alert thing, actually.

SPEAKER_03

Uh oh. How did Uncle August get so rich?

SPEAKER_04

They never elaborate on that. Just like they never elaborate what the mom's wishes were. Or why the mom I don't know. The mom sucks. Because also the mom, the one that killed herself. Not to be like flippant about it. She did she not think her daughter would ever come back and look for her? Right. And she just did that right upstairs, like in a sunny day. She's like, oh, go on the bike. Now is the time.

SPEAKER_03

She'll never find me.

SPEAKER_04

She'll never find me in the attic. And then me and her. Lo and behold, little did she know, the girl on the bike does not go very far on the bike. She goes to the end of the not even like two driveways over and comes right back.

SPEAKER_03

So yeah, it took a grand total of two minutes for her to go up into the attic and kill herself.

SPEAKER_04

She was in a hurry. She's like, shit, I don't got all day.

SPEAKER_03

I gotta get this done now. Before she comes back. She's a little girl. She can't go far by herself.

SPEAKER_04

She does it with the speed that I imagine like new parents do when they're trying to get, you know, intimate with each other. We're like, shit, we have no time before the kid like wakes up.

SPEAKER_11

Set your timer.

SPEAKER_04

Set the alarm. Set the alarm. We gotta do this now. But she does it with that urgency of like this haste of like I'm going to kill myself in like three minutes.

SPEAKER_02

Go.

SPEAKER_04

Kicks the stool and just immediately.

SPEAKER_03

Eh.

SPEAKER_04

Uh then becomes a doctor who episode at the end where she time travels. Everyone's fine.

SPEAKER_03

While making wildly inappropriate advances on Ryan.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Unknowing Ryan.

unknown

Ryan, hey!

SPEAKER_10

Can I uh talk to you for a second?

SPEAKER_06

Uh sure.

SPEAKER_10

Okay, um. First off, I just wanted to say um I'm sorry for the whole McFarlase thing.

SPEAKER_05

Wait, what? Really?

SPEAKER_10

Yeah. Um, but you know what? Maybe in the multiverse that didn't happen.

SPEAKER_04

Hold on. You dig on multiverse?

SPEAKER_10

Yeah. And also, maybe in the multiverse we're really good friends. Maybe we're even dating.

SPEAKER_03

I mean weird. Well, have we done it?

SPEAKER_10

No, not yet. I've also met your cousin Gina, hung out in her loft and everything.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, you're freaking me out right now.

SPEAKER_10

Good. Because I need a favor. Okay, this is gonna sound crazy, but please don't open this. Just just bury it, no shortcuts.

SPEAKER_03

Why okay, whatever.

SPEAKER_05

What's in it for me?

SPEAKER_10

Dinner, if you want. And maybe we could talk more on this whole multiverse thing.

SPEAKER_04

He loves the multiverse, you know him well.

SPEAKER_06

And you can tell me how you know my cousin and that she has loft.

SPEAKER_11

Done.

SPEAKER_02

No! That's weird. Yeah. She's weird.

SPEAKER_11

Dead. Dead. I'll see you around.

SPEAKER_04

He said he was into her before she was he realized that she was the cause of the death of his cousin and like everyone around her.

SPEAKER_03

Um, but she didn't know that. He never had mid feelings to her.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, she didn't know that, and then when they were talking after her the boyfriend or her ex-boyfriend now uh tried to kill himself in the room, the very next day, I guess we can presume when they're talking, because he's like, hey, we should do something about this box, she like bites her lips lip and then is like I'm gonna kiss this guy.

SPEAKER_03

She's like, I'm so turned on right now. Just to talk about my box.

SPEAKER_11

Take me now.

SPEAKER_04

See for things plays music and don't. I don't know what that's supposed to mean, but there's no Ryan's like, um, chill.

SPEAKER_03

Chill. I'm a serious wantons. Not you. Oh god, my cousin.

SPEAKER_04

I don't know. It it's bizarre, it's all strange. And then yeah, she goes, makes weird advances on him. He's like, hey, I uh you like you like women, right? And he's like, sure. She's like, good, bury this backpack for me.

SPEAKER_03

Yep. And then maybe I can take you out for dinner tonight, talk multi-person. She's like, you know what? While I'm leaving, let's go ahead and we'll just we'll skip to the very end of the date that's not gonna happen until later. And then just max on him, and he's like, uh. And then the friends And then she gets hit back her.

SPEAKER_04

Before that, though, the friend does say the line, dude really reminds me of like uh something like a 90s comedy. Just like, dude.

SPEAKER_03

Uh that was that the same friend with the whole tit pick?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, that was the same friend who kept like taking pictures of her, like took pictures of her butt and then of the sh stain on her shirt, and then said that's hot.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, that's the only issue I had with Ryan is his choice of friends. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Well at the best.

SPEAKER_04

Not good. Um, and then yeah, and then she crosses the street and immediately dies.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, I'm not like upset about it.

SPEAKER_04

Oh no, I'm not, she was terrible. She's a horrible. She was awful. She was horrible. Okay. Uh, but the scene where then the box vanishes, and then you learn the friend had taken it to school, yeah, which you pointed out. That's the only place that they would interact mutually at. So why would you take it there?

SPEAKER_03

Like, there hasn't been a lot of scenes where uh actually, she there hasn't been any scenes where she's gone over to the friend's house. Not once. And then the friend, she's like, Why did you take it? And the friend said, Because I have two sisters, and I don't know what that means. I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

Why would you bring it here in the first place? Because I have two little sisters at home. Give it back right now.

SPEAKER_04

I don't know. Okay, so my thoughts on that right now. I'm not sure if either she said that because she she was worried, of course, that like maybe that for some reason the box would now choose her sisters when it had never chosen anyone that she doesn't know uh for. Or it's she's like already dug into the role of being a mom. Like, you know, when they're like, please think of the children. I chose she doesn't have kids. She's like, please, I have two sisters.

SPEAKER_03

I have two sisters who are like my children.

SPEAKER_04

She's already been thinking, like, well, I'm basically a mom now.

SPEAKER_03

Still waiting for Prince Charming to enter my life. What's your dad doing, by the way?

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Still playing that mean old sax. I don't need a mansion. He's not Idris Elbe anymore, but I mean we can make it work.

SPEAKER_04

I heard he likes trash. Well, he can take me out.

unknown

Oh god.

SPEAKER_03

He could rummage through me. Oh god.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. God. Especially because she's a teenager. That makes it so much worse. No, no, that's true.

SPEAKER_03

The actress teenage girl says things all the time.

SPEAKER_04

Sure. Sure, yeah, that's fine. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

We never had a hot for a friend's dad?

SPEAKER_04

No, I don't think I've ever had a the hot for a friend's dad.

SPEAKER_03

Weird.

SPEAKER_04

Now, if that friend's dad had been eaterselba, then we're talking suddenly. That's a different story. I walk up to him like, whoa. Is this a mirror? Hello. Ryan Philippe. It's is that me?

SPEAKER_02

How you've changed. Isn't that me?

SPEAKER_04

Oh shit. But yeah. I thought the movie was interestingly not good at all, but it was a lot of fun.

SPEAKER_03

It was a movie. It was fun.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, so did you actually enjoy it?

SPEAKER_03

I enjoyed watching it. I won't be doing it again. Uh but I did the yeah, it was fun to make fun of.

SPEAKER_04

I think I've seen that movie honestly like five or six times. It's a bad amount. So when you're like, I'm not returning to it. I'm like, oh no.

SPEAKER_03

I don't think I'll be watching it again unless I really hate my mom. It doesn't matter at her. I'll be like, great horror movie that I found. Right for Ellie. So scary. And then she's like, what the fuck is this? And I remember that time when I was 12. Just like boom. Boom. When you grounded me for being sassy. Well, who's sassy now?

SPEAKER_04

You turned her and you're like, I think you're a selfish bull of bitch sauce.

SPEAKER_03

I think you're a selfish bull of bitch sauce. Selfish. And storm out.

SPEAKER_04

Storm right out.

SPEAKER_03

Why are we even friends with her?

SPEAKER_04

I don't know, but I love yeah. So uh at least now you know the quotes. So you will now have a frame of reference when I quote it to you.

SPEAKER_11

Perfection.

SPEAKER_04

And now I think I've learned that you'll say it work. What's up, winner? What's up, winner? I'm driving here, winner. That was so weird.

SPEAKER_03

Uh I will just need to pick uh annihilation.

SPEAKER_04

No.

SPEAKER_03

One of these nights.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

I won't say when. It'll be threes.

SPEAKER_04

That's fine. Okay, okay. I didn't know if you were doing it like right now. Like, I don't know if I can hear the thing.

SPEAKER_03

I'm gonna be like three months later. Surprise!

SPEAKER_04

It's gonna be like I had a really hard week. A bad week, and then you're like, well, ow.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

You know, it's really getting hard to, you know, live my life. Well, too bad you will die.

SPEAKER_03

That's such a bad movie. I love it so much. It's gonna be so great. I'm so excited. I'm so high on serotonin right now. I'm so excited. I do have to wait for like the perfect moment.

SPEAKER_04

No, to attack me with it, yeah. I I'm gonna wait ever so patiently.

SPEAKER_11

I know.

SPEAKER_04

Um another one I think you should watch too, one of these days, then. This isn't the same, and I'm not gonna pick it for a while, if ever. But The Bye Bye Man.

SPEAKER_11

The what?

SPEAKER_04

The Bye Bye Man.

SPEAKER_11

The Bye Bye Man.

SPEAKER_04

It's in the similar vein of like Wishapon like terrible movies. Oh. Never heard of it. Not good, but it's a lot of fun. Uh I thought it was funny. I thought it was funny. It's not as funny to me as Wishabon. Wishabon has something special in it because it doesn't make a lot of sense. It's absolutely insane.

SPEAKER_03

Do they actually call an individual bye-bye man?

SPEAKER_04

Like, kind of. The basic basically, it's if you say bye-bye man, then like a demon comes and kills you. But you're trying not to say it. So the demon will possess you to make you say it anyway, so it really doesn't matter. I'm like, why do you need to say it then? But then also it's not a weird enough thing. You know, it's not like I am zoozu, or like beetle juice, beetle juice, beetle juice. It's not like something like you wouldn't say. So I I don't like what if you did say bye bye, man? I guess that's a weird thing to say, but it could happen.

SPEAKER_03

You could say bye bye, and then right after you say the last bye, somebody trips and spills their soda on you. You go, man.

SPEAKER_04

And then Demon. And then they look at you like, shh, I'm trying to recycle winner.

SPEAKER_02

Ow.

SPEAKER_04

There's gotta be an edit though, where the beginning when she gets when she drives her out into the trash cans on the bikes. There's gonna be an edit of that scene where like that it's that scene, but then instead it's the one where she hits her car, or so like it shows her a hitter. Like, I'm driving.

SPEAKER_03

Those bullies are horrible bullies. So bad at it. Either they use compliments to insult, or when she's there, they just get up and leave.

SPEAKER_04

Well, well, well. It isn't the woman who always smells like muffin mix. Muffin mix. No, if you're insulting me.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know what that means.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I I don't know. And uh anyway, yeah, so thanks for putting up with my movie night choice. I I had a fun time.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, it was fun.

SPEAKER_04

I liked also getting to make up a story about this one trying to be so mom.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, that was a weird plot that we just randomly put in there. We expanded it, yeah.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I have a family, and I want to be part of yours.

SPEAKER_04

I can't let you use the box. I have two sisters.

SPEAKER_03

Slappy, slappity, slappity.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, mom.

SPEAKER_01

Stop it, Claire. See what it's done. This is a bad idea. June, go away. Stop. Listen to me, just stop.

SPEAKER_03

Why did she bring it to school? Where the person when you don't want to have it goes to school. Sorry, that literally funny is like slipping down the steps there.

SPEAKER_04

And she's gonna run past her.

SPEAKER_03

She's like just like when they were talking about his dead cousin switch down the stairs.

SPEAKER_04

It's so weird, like so funny. Like, usually movies have some like flip and roll down.

SPEAKER_03

Well, usually it looks super violent. That didn't look violent at all. It just looked more like uh inconvenience.

SPEAKER_04

What the fuck is she gonna be okay? Like, I think she's fine, kid. Yeah, I think we're good.

SPEAKER_03

She'll just be a little bit sore tomorrow.

SPEAKER_04

Oh my god, oh that hurt my face from that.

SPEAKER_03

She's laughing about those. And then it's Ryan, what is wrong with you? You can't run away from this forever. She's like it's fine, I just need one more fix.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, she looks fine, just one more.

SPEAKER_03

How about making more wishes? I just wanted a round.

SPEAKER_04

This last one, unless you're careful. I still have two wishes left, and one of them could be you.

SPEAKER_03

Oh my gosh. She was annoying. Oh yeah. So many characters were annoying. Ryan was was okay. She's fine. Uh his cousin's okay too.

SPEAKER_11

I do like his cousin. Yeah. That's about it.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, I wasn't messed up with cooldown.

SPEAKER_04

This character was confusing. I love the fact that the conversation is like, I'm afraid of like mom, you know? Like what's gonna happen? And then he's like, oh, you're a lot like your mom when like she's talking about how her mom killed herself. I was like, oh, but not like that.

unknown

Do you think I'm like her?

SPEAKER_08

Of course you are. No, no, no, sweetie, not like that.

SPEAKER_03

I I just met because you're like, you know, cool. Nope, that's from me. Uh you pay me.

SPEAKER_04

Play the saxophone. Nope, still me. Yeah, you're you're good at one man's trash and the other man's trash. No, that's me too.

SPEAKER_03

You're blonde? No.

SPEAKER_04

Uh you have a cool dad.

SPEAKER_03

What can I say? Your dad's pretty cool. You're like your mom, and that you're nothing like her dad.

SPEAKER_04

Your mom had dreams. She was always, you know, keeping her feet off the ground. No. She uh she was someone who hangs around a lot. Um she would really she'd stick her neck out for anyone.

SPEAKER_03

Um adorable.

SPEAKER_04

You know, sometimes she would choke, but ultimately, I think she was a completionist and she could really salt things through the end. What I'm saying is she killed herself. It's like, yep, okay.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, dad, thank you.

SPEAKER_04

Thank you.

SPEAKER_11

Ah Get your fucking trash out of her.

SPEAKER_04

Whatever those were, like toker. I don't know what those were, but like. Okay, curtain rods. And then he's like, score.

SPEAKER_03

He's like, Oh my god, yes, this is exactly what I've been looking for. I want to put it in the corner. For some reason. Just in the corner of the house. The Fred's like, oh my god, yes, we can make so much money, and then they don't. They don't do anything about the shit that's like, or hear me out, I just keep these and add it to my collection.

SPEAKER_04

And I love the weird boundaries they do. The dad's like, I got you something, and she's like, Dad, we talked about this. You have your space where you can keep your garbage, and I have my space. She's like, No more.

SPEAKER_03

He's like, Again, I don't want trash presents. He's like, but I saw it and I thought of you.

SPEAKER_04

You're gonna like this one. You know, you take a Chinese class in high school, well, it's weird Chinese letters on it. I thought you liked it.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, that's because it's part of credits. I don't even care. I just need to graduate.

SPEAKER_04

Oh my god, sorry, talk about that movie makes me laugh even more though, because it's so weird.

SPEAKER_03

Dad, you're so bursting. Uh you and Carl. Why is he always here?

SPEAKER_04

They were so nice that I don't think that that's a problem at all. I uh other than the fact that like they were dumpster diving literally across the street. They had the entire town and they go across the street from the school.

SPEAKER_03

Her school. Then they're like, let's go dumpster dying, just like old times. I'm like, she used to go with them. It's not like this is a new thing. It's been dumpster diving for years.

SPEAKER_04

Oh my god, just like old times. You're like our old. Good luck, Char. Like, what is happening?

SPEAKER_03

What have you guys found?

SPEAKER_04

Um, I mean, I remember when I was younger, I we used to drive around sometimes and look for like this is when I was really young, we looked like for stuff people put in like their front yard or something that she gave away in like Philly.

SPEAKER_03

Not sure.

SPEAKER_04

But like we weren't actually digging in dumpsters.

SPEAKER_03

No. That's not that's not the same as being like, oh, it's garbage day, guys. We better hit those cans before the garbage truck does.

SPEAKER_04

I never seen it, but it really does remind me of an episode of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, where Charlie starts dumpster diving and then Frank does too. So like these two guys are doing that. They get super into it and they do things like that. They're like, oh, we really gotta hit it before like the the trash trucks come and take them. And like they can't they collect so much garbage they can no longer sleep in their apartment because there's too much stuff in there. So they start sleeping in dumpsters and then like carry a shopping cart with like a bunch of trash that they're finding that then they can go and empty out in their apartment. Honestly, a horror movie shouldn't remind me of an it's always sunny in Philadelphia episode.

SPEAKER_03

I think horror movies rather putting it loosely.

SPEAKER_04

It's technically in the horror section.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

I mean so it's May 13th, part three, so part three. Yeah, that's in the horror section. I don't think that should be it.

SPEAKER_03

That's true. Anyway, Elm Streets.

SPEAKER_04

Nightmare Well, the first one I could see vague.

SPEAKER_03

The first one, yeah, second one same. Third, yeah, but I think after third.

SPEAKER_04

Uh is the is it I thought okay, so it's the final nightmare. Uh Freddy's Dead, the final nightmare. Is that the one where he also had takes someone like the bunch of people's faces being pizza, and like he takes their meatball like faces and eats it? Pretty sure. And he does like the Game Boy fighting thing too? Yes. Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, what's the claw?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. The power claw. The power glove.

SPEAKER_03

Something like that.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, something that sounds right. Or power glove or something or a gunt.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, or something like that.

SPEAKER_04

Got it. Well, anyway, uh, movie night. Thanks for putting it. Um what are you planning on picking up for movie night?

SPEAKER_02

I have no idea.

SPEAKER_04

I take it. I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, there's so much pressure.

SPEAKER_04

Alright, but Groovy, uh, thanks for movie night, and uh I'll talk to you later then. Bye. Bye.
