I’m feeling tired today. Exhausted really. This prayer comes from a deep need for refreshing in my own soul. Lord, pour the rain of your presence on your people today!
Lord, thank you that I don't always have to have eloquent words and beautiful speech to come into your presence. Lord, this day is amazing. It's a day you've given me. Let the things I do today honor you, God. Let my heart be thankful. Give me gratitude that overflows for the things that you've given me, Lord. The tasks, the responsibilities. It's all part of it. Lord, give me a love for the work that you have given me to do. Give your people love for the work that you have given us to do, God. It's all for your kingdom. God, let the filter we put on our lives be your presence. Be that we do this for you. Lord, let my mind be filled with thoughts that are pleasing to you about the work you've given me. God, break a spirit of grumbling, break off a spirit of complaining. Align my heart with yours, Lord. This is your gift to me, the work that you've given me to do. And let my heart line up with that, Lord. God, give me joy in the midst of the busy days. Let my heart find peace here. It's not about whether I feel rested or not, Lord. It's about your presence. Thank you, Lord, that your presence is consistent and it's steadfast and it's faithful. Lord, that's your character. Thank you that I get to see that in each day, whether I have a crazy day or whether I have a peaceful day. You are the same yesterday, today, and forever, Lord. Your presence does not change. Lord, give rest to your people. Let your presence bring rest, holy rest over us. Let your word bring refreshment. Let your word be like rain for our souls, Lord. Let us be thriving and growing in your word. Give us a glimpse of what you're doing, Lord. Refresh our souls. Speak life into our days, into our busy days, into our chaotic days. Bring peace, Lord, that goes beyond what this world can give us. Your word says, peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives. Lord, I know that. My heart long for your peace. Not worldly peace, God, it doesn't even come close. Remind my heart of what your peace feels like. Refresh my soul, Lord. Spring up wells inside of me of peace. Spring wells of your presence, Lord, in my home through the attitude that I have today. God, let me have an attitude that is pleasing to you. Don't let my own exhaustion and my own weariness drag down what your presence looks like here. Let my words set the tone that your presence is here. My attitude set the tone that your presence is here. Lord, thank you that your presence is holy and perfect and it doesn't depend on me. You are righteous and you are slow to anger, steadfast, abounding in love. Lord, let my heart see that and let it overflow with the goodness of your presence so that people around me will see the goodness of your presence too. My soul has to get in line with that, Lord. I tell my soul right now, get in line with the presence of the Lord. It's steadfast and immovable. Lord, let your presence be here today. Refresh my soul. In Jesus' name.
