This episode highlights that feeding a homemade diet to cats becomes second nature once the process is streamlined, based on Natascha Wille’s 30 years of experience feeding a group of up to 12 cats.

It highlights how feeding meat raw eliminates the labor of cooking, and using ground meat is far more sustainable than trying to curate individual portions of chunks and organs every day.

To avoid the "icky" part of food prep, you can grind a six-month supply of liver at once and freeze it in portions, or simply use freeze-dried liver treats as a convenient alternative.

Preparing a 10-day supply is often the "sweet spot"—it takes only about five minutes and avoids the tedium of a massive monthly session or the inconvenience of daily prep.

Silicone muffin cups are recommended for mess-free portioning and freezing. For feeding, the microwave "speed defrost" setting can thaw a meal in about 30–45 seconds, removing the stress of forgetting to take food out of the freezer.

By purchasing a year’s supply of meat and premix at once and storing it in a small chest freezer, you eliminate weekly shopping trips and ensure you are always prepared.
