Good morning and welcome to the poll list, your daily stop for comic news from Epic Panels Comics. I'm Martin, and today is Tuesday, June 16th, 2026. Let's start where we always do, with a look back. Here's something fun about today's date. Readers have quietly turned June 16th into what they call 616 Day, a nod to Earth 616, the longtime label for Marvel's main universe, the one where most of the stories you know actually happen. And the date carries a couple of real birthdays. Back in 1927, Wally Wood was born. If you've ever stared at that impossibly detailed science fiction artwork in the old EC and mad comics, that was often his hand at work. And in 1930, Frank Thorne was born, the artist most people picture when they think of Red Sonia. So, on to today's big story. Marvel is going all in on summer events, and the centerpiece is Avengers Armageddon. According to AIPT and Bleeding Cool, the first issue comes from Chip Zidarski, Delio Diaz, and Frank Alpazar, and it opens with Red Hulk pulled into a conflict over Ladveria. Here's the thing: this isn't a quick, self-contained story. It's built to connect, which means tie-ins are almost certainly on the way. Want a feel for how Marvel handles a line-wide crossover while you wait? Our Secret Empire hardcover is a solid companion. Now, new first issues. The one I'd flagged this morning is Realligator number one, a one-shot from Bad Idea. Why does it matter? Bad Idea built its name on deliberately small print runs, and scarcity is exactly what collectors track. It also ships with a spread of Old Masters variant covers, so there's something for cover hunters too. It's on sale August 5th with a final order cutoff of July 6th. In plain terms, if you want a copy, pre-ordering is how you lock it in. A quick word for the spec-minded. Keep Jonathan Hickman and Adam Kubert's Spider-Man Long Way Home on your radar. According to Bleeding Cool, it teams Spider-Man with the Punisher and the Hulk. Hickman launches tend to draw collector interest, so watch how that one prices out. Over in the rumor mill, and remember, this is unconfirmed until a publisher says otherwise. There's ongoing speculation that Avengers Armageddon could expand into a broader multi-title event as the summer rolls on, with more tie-ins than first announced. That's general bleeding cool chatter, so file it under Wait and See. On the collections and movie tie-in front, two big ones. First, Dark Horse and Mattel are growing the Masters of the Universe line, including a miniseries called The Wings of Fate, Timed to the New Film, with covers from Will Sliney and Riley Brown. We've got those open for pre-order. And DC is leaning into the summer of Supergirl, a new special and a fresh Else Worlds lined up with the movie. Got a newer reader in your life? Our Woman of Tomorrow trade is a great starting point. One more for the shelf.
