Presence over noise….always
Can I ask you something? Who are you still waiting on? Who are you still waiting on to tell you you're ready? Your parents? Your boss? Your family? Your friends? The people who doubted you? Or maybe you're waiting for yourself. You're waiting until you're more confident, more successful, more experienced, or more financially secure, or more qualified? But what if the permission you've been waiting for was never theirs to give? What if you spent years standing outside a door that was never locked? How many opportunities have you watched pass by because you're convinced you've convinced yourself I'll do it someday? How many dreams have you placed on hold because fear disguised itself as responsibility? If you've been waiting for that sign, maybe this conversation is it. Welcome back to Quiet Power with Sunshine. I'm Sunshine. If this is your first time joining us, I'm so happy you're here. This is a place where we have honest conversation about healing, purpose, business, relationships, confidence, and becoming the person God created us to be. Not by shouting, not by pretending we have it all together, but by growing. One intentional step at a time. Because around here we believe in presence over performance, peace over proving ourselves, purpose over popularity, and always presence over noise. Today's Quiet Power Truth is one I hope you'll carry with you along after this episode. The permission you've been waiting for was never theirs to give. You don't need permission to become who we were created to be. You don't need permission to chase your dreams. And you don't need permissions to heal. You don't need permission to start over, and you don't need permission to build a life that's been living inside your heart. Sometimes the only permission you need is the one you give yourself. Can I tell you something I had to learn? For years, I thought successful people were somehow different. I believe they had something I didn't. More confidence, more money, more education, more support, more certainty. Then I started paying attention. I listened to entrepreneurs, authors, leaders, people I admire. Do you know what surprised me? Almost every single one of them admitted they were scared. They questioned themselves. They wondered if they were good enough. They worried about failing. The difference wasn't that they had no fear. The difference was they stopped asking fear for permission. There have been moments in my own life when I looked at a dream and thought, who am I to do something like that? Who am I to start the business? Who am I to create a podcast? Who am I to believe I could inspire someone else? Have you ever asked yourself questions like that? Who am I to apply for that promotion? Or who am I to write that book? Or who am I to leave this relationship? Or who am I to believe I deserve more? Those questions can become chains if we aren't careful. Because every time we question our worth, we delay our purpose. Here's the biggest lie fear tells us. Wait until you feel ready. Can I lovingly tell you something? You may never feel completely ready. You become ready by showing up. Confidence isn't what gets you started, action is. Think about every child learning to walk. No baby waits until they're confident. They wobble, they fall, they cry, then they stand up again. Eventually walking becomes natural. Why? Because confidence followed the action. The same is true for us. So if confidence isn't something we wait for, how do we build it? How do we stop waiting for permission and start walking toward the life we've been praying for? I'm going to share three mindset shifts that can completely change the way I make a decision. They're simple, but they've helped me stop waiting and start becoming. Because sometimes one decision can change the direction of your entire life. You know, I realized something. Most of us aren't waiting because we don't have potential. We're waiting because we've we're confused permission, we've confused permission with preparation. We think someone has to choose us, approve us, validate us before we allow we're allowed to move. But life doesn't work that way. No one showed up one morning and handed successful people with a certificate that said, congratulations, you're officially ready now. They simply made a decision. And that decision changed everything. Today I want to share three mindset shifts that helped me stop waiting and start becoming. Stop asking, am I good enough? Start asking, Am I willing to grow? There's a huge difference. When we not ask ourselves if we're good enough, the answer usually comes from fear. Fear remembers every mistake, every rejection, every disappointment, every time someone told us we couldn't. But growth asks a different question. Growth says, are you willing to learn? Are you willing to improve? Are you willing to keep showing up? Because nobody starts as an expert. Every successful business owner, every author, every speaker, every athlete, every person you admired started as a beginner. The only difference is they didn't stay well. This one is personal. Have you ever looked at someone's life online and thought, they're so much further ahead than I am? I've been there. But here's what social media rarely shows us. It doesn't show the years of doubt, the failed attempts, the sacrifices, the nights they wondered if they should quit. It shows the highlight real, not the hard work. Comparisons in danger because it makes you believe you're behind. When you're actually just on your own timeline, God didn't give you someone else's assignment, He gave you yours. So stop measuring your chapter one against someone else's chapter 20. Stay focused on your own page. Comfort is beautiful, but comfort rarely changes lives. Everything meaningful happens when we're willing to become uncomfortable. Think about it. Growth is uncomfortable, healing is uncomfortable, starting over is uncomfortable, setting boundaries is uncomfortable, launching a business is uncomfortable. Having a difficult conversation is uncomfortable. But staying stuck, that's uncomfortable too. So if discomfort is unavoidable, wouldn't you rather be uncomfortable becoming into your own person instead of uncomfortable becoming just settled? That question changed the way I looked at fear. When I decided to pursue my dreams, I didn't have every answer. I still don't. There are days I question myself, days I wonder if I'm doing enough, or days where fear whispers, who do you think you are? But then another voice reminds me, you're someone who refuses to quit. And that voice I chose to listen to. Not because I'm fearless, but because I've learned something. Fear gets quieter every time courage gets louder. Can I ask you something? What dream keeps showing up in your heart? The one you can't seem to forget, the business, the career, the relationship, the book, the ministry, the fresh start. If it keeps returning, maybe it's not random. Maybe it's calling. And maybe you've already spent enough time waiting. In the final part of today's episode, we're going to talk about what happens the moment you stop waiting for permission, how one decision can change your future. And I'll leave you with a challenge that I hope stays with you long after this episode ends. Because your next chapter is waiting for you to begin. You know, I don't believe our lives change because one lucky break. I believe our lives change because one brave decision, one decision to apply, one decision to forgive, one decision to leave what no longer serves us, one decision to say yes, one decision to believe that maybe, just maybe, we're capable of more than we allowed ourselves to imagine. Sometimes we think our breakthrough is waiting on someone else, someone to notice us, someone to promote us, someone to invest in us, someone to choose us. But what if your breakthrough is waiting for you to choose yourself? Not in an arrogant way, not because you think you're better than anyone else, but because you finally believe that the gifts God placed inside of you were never meant to stay hidden. Can I share something that changed the way I lived? I stopped asking, what if I failed? Instead, I asked, what if this works? What if this business changes my life? What if this conversation heals someone? What if this opportunity is exactly what I've been praying for? Fear always asks, what if what if it goes wrong? Faith asks, what if it goes right? And I've learned the questions we ask ourselves determines the direction of our lives. So maybe it's time to ask better questions. I want you to picture yourself five years from now. Close your eyes if you need to. Imagine you becoming the person you've always hoped to be. You're healthier, you're more confident, your business is growing, your relationships are healthier, you found peace, living with purpose instead of just surviving. Now imagine that future version of yourself looking back at the person you are today. What do you think they would say? I don't think they said, keep waiting. I think they smiled and said, take that chance, make that phone call, start that business, submit that application, record that podcast, write that book, believe in yourself, because everything I'm enjoying today started with one decision you almost didn't make. Before this day ends, I want you to do one thing you've been putting off. Just one, not ten, one. Send the email, register the LLC, apply for that promotion, or join that class, make that appointment, set that boundary, have that conversation, take that walk, pray that prayer. Whatever it is, stop waiting for that perfect moment. The perfect moment rarely announces itself most of the time. It looks like ordinary Tuesday. And you decide you're tired of letting fear write your story. Before we leave today, I want you to sit with one question. If no one else's opinion mattered, what would you do next? Think about it. Not what your family expects, not what social media celebrates, not what your coworkers think. What would you do? Because the life you're meant to live will never be found by living someone else's expectation. It begins the moment you had the courage to honor your own home. As we wrap up today's episode, I want you to remember something. You don't need permission to dream. You don't need permission to grow. You don't need permission to heal. And you don't need permission to start over. And you certainly don't need permission to become the person God created you to be. The only person who's been standing at that gate has been you. And today, I hope you finally give yourself permission to walk through it. Because the world doesn't need another version of someone else. It needs the version of you that has the courage to show up. Thank you for spending this time with me. If today's episode spoke to your heart, I hope you'll share it with someone who's been doubting themselves. You never know who might need that reminder today. If you're enjoying Quiet Power with Sunshine, I'd be so grateful if you follow the podcast and leave a review. It helps these conversations reach more people who need encouragement, hope, and reminders that they're capable of more than they believe. Next week we're going to talk about something that shapes every area of our lives. The people around us. The people around you are shaping your future. We'll explore how the voices you listen to, the relationships you keep, the environments you choose can either fuel your growth or quietly hold you back. Until then, choose courage over comfort. Choose purpose over fear. Choose progress over perfection. And remember, the permission you've been waiting for was never theirs to give. It was always yours. I'm Sunshine, and this has been Quiet Power with Sunshine. And remember, presence over noise always.
