The conversations you have. The voices you listen to. The environments you stay in. They all shape your confidence, your decisions, and ultimately your future.

In this episode of Quite Power with Sunshine we’re talking about why growth isn’t just about changing yourself it’s also about being intentional with who has a front-row seat in your life.

You’ll discover how to recognize the people who inspire your purpose, identify relationships that quietly drain your potential, and build a circle that encourages you to become the best version of yourself.

Presence over noise….Always

Can I ask you something? Have you ever walked away from a conversation feeling completely drained? Not because someone argued with you. Not because anything dramatic happened. But because somehow you left feeling smaller than when you arrived. Now let me ask you another question. Have you ever spent time with someone who made you believe you could do anything? Someone who reminded you of your strength? Someone who challenged you? Someone who celebrated your wins without making them about themselves. Same amount of time, two completely different experiences. That's the power of the people around you. Today we're going to talk about something that quietly shapes every part of our lives. Our friendships, our relationships, our businesses, our confidence, our future. Because whether we realize it or not, the people we spend the most time with influence the person we're becoming. If you've been growing lately and you've started noticing that some relationships feel different, this conversation is for you. Welcome back to Quiet Power, the Sunshine. I'm Sunshine. If this is your first time joining us, welcome. I'm so glad you're here. This is where we have honest conversations about healing, confidence, businesses, relationships, purpose, and becoming the person God created us to be. Not loudly, not pretending that life is perfect, but intentionally, one decision at a time. Because around here we believe in presence over performance, peace over proving ourselves, purpose over popularity, and always presence over noise. Can I be honest with you? There was a time when I believed loyalty meant staying the same. I thought if I changed, if I grew, if I drew if I dreamed bigger, everyone around me would naturally celebrate it. Life taught me something different. Growth is beautiful, but it can also be uncomfortable. Not just for you, for the people around you. Sometimes your growth reminds other people of the dreams they stopped chasing, the risks they never took, the healing they haven't started. And without realizing it, they may try to keep you where they're comfortable. Not because they hate you, but because change makes people uncomfortable. That's why one of the hardest lessons I've learned is that you can love people without allowing them to limit your future. As I've gotten older, I realize there are three kinds of people everyone needs. The first are the encouragers. These are the people who remind you who you are, especially the ones that will celebrate you. They don't compete with you. They clap for you. They pray for you. They tell you the truth, even when it's uncomfortable. If you have someone like that protect that relationship, it's rare. The second are the challengers. These are the people that don't let you settle. They ask the hard questions. They stretch your thinking. They believe you're capable of more, even before you do. Sometimes those conversations are easy, but growth rarely is. And finally, there are the drainers. Every time you leave them, you're exhausted. Nothing is ever enough. They criticize more than they encourage. They focus on the problem instead of the possibilities. Not every drainer is a bad person, but not everyone is meant to have unlimited access to your life. Here's something I want you to think about. If the five people you spend the most time with stayed exactly the way they are, would they help you become the person you're praying to become? That's not an easy question. Because sometimes the answer hurts. Sometimes we outgrow conversations. Sometimes we outgrow habits. Sometimes we outgrow environments. And yes, sometimes we outgrow relationships. That doesn't mean you stop loving people. It means you stop expecting them to walk every part of your journey with you. Have you ever noticed how quickly attitudes spread? Spend enough time around negative people. You'll start seeing problems everywhere. If you spend enough time around grateful people, you'll start noticing blessings. And if you spend enough time around people who dream, you'll begin dreaming bigger. Energy is contagious, perspective is contagious, hope is contagious, so is fear. Choose carefully. As I continue building businesses, recording this podcast, and becoming the woman I know I'm called to be, I've learned something. Not everyone will understand your journey. Some people only knew the version of you that played it safe. When you start growing, they may say you've changed. And maybe you have. Growth changed us, healing changes us, purpose changes us. The goal isn't to stay the same, the goal is to become better. This week I want you to do something simple. Take inventory. Write down the names of five people you spend the most time with. Now ask yourself, do they inspire me? Do they encourage me? Do they challenge me? Do they bring me peace? Or do they constantly leave me questioning my work? If your answer makes you uncomfortable, don't ignore it. Awareness is the first step towards change. Before we leave today, I want to ask you one final question. Who are you becoming? Who are you becoming because of the people around you? Not who you want to become, who you're actually becoming. Because every conversation, every friendship, every relationship is shaping your future. Choose wisely. As we wrap up today's episode, remember this. You don't have to cut everyone off to protect your peace. But you do have to be intentional about who you had in the front seat in your life. Your future deserves people who celebrate your growth, who challenge your thinking, who remind you of your purpose, who speak life into your dreams. Because becoming isn't just about changing yourself. It's also about creating an environment where the best version of yourself can flourish. Thank you for spending time with me. If today's episode encouraged you, would you do me one favor, share it with one person who needs this reminder? Every share helps this message reach someone who may need hope, encouragement, or the courage to keep growing. Thank you for helping Quiet Power with Sunshine reach listeners around the world. This community is growing because of you. And I never take that for granted. Next week we're talking about a subject that has power to transform every goal you've ever set. Discipline. Discipline will take you where motivation where motivation never can. Let me say that one more time. Discipline will take you where motivation never can. Until then, protect your peace. Choose your circle wisely. Keep becoming. And remember presence over noise always.
