Welcome Back And Dog Banter
SPEAKER_00Swift tea.
SPEAKER_05I'm trying.
SPEAKER_03Letter it. Potato chip. Welcome back to Swift Tea Podcast, where nothing is off limits and everything's on record.
SPEAKER_02Ooh. Our next guest was born with lake water in his veins. His family's put more people on boats than Carnival Cruise Line. He's the newest member of the Wiener Dog Dad Club. And his family's own and operated one of the Lake's most notable businesses for 49 years. And this weekend, they're throwing the fancy pants of In of the Year. Ladies and gentlemen, Ryan Kelly.
SPEAKER_07What's going on?
SPEAKER_01Thanks, you guys. Appreciate it. Fancy pants.
SPEAKER_03Wiener Dad Club, man. How does that mean that's the case? And we've got we've got Mr. Benjamin with us today.
SPEAKER_01Is it Mr. Benjamin with the Justin?
SPEAKER_03He's already tired of our bullshit.
SPEAKER_01So Benjamin's Benjamin, uh he's he's not allowed to be called Benjamin. It's Benny. Benny. And the Jets. Sure. I have daughter's name for it, so it's her her thing. Yeah, so we want Benjamin because training two dogs, Penny with a P and Benny with a B is kind of tough. Just so the older dog's kind of going a little bit crazy.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. She keeps thinking you're a boy or a girl?
SPEAKER_01Your older dog? Older daughter. Older girl, not daughter. But yes.
SPEAKER_03No, you're but you're girl dog.
SPEAKER_01Girl dog. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04She's a lab, right?
SPEAKER_01Yeah. She is a lab.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Every George Foreman's got like 10 um sons and daughters, and they're all named George or Georgia.
SPEAKER_03That is not true. There's no one. Is it really? It's crazy.
SPEAKER_01I actually heard that before.
SPEAKER_02Like, but if you're like calling for somebody, I'm like, why would you even do that to people?
SPEAKER_04Be like, which one are you talking to?
SPEAKER_03I mean, I it's either really smart or really dumb.
SPEAKER_02It's really dumb.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_04Well, I mean, it's not really any different than I we know 50 people named Mike, so Mike.
SPEAKER_02We got a Mike Hike coming up. Yeah. Excited about. But enough about Mike. Mike Hike. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Yeah.
SPEAKER_02We uh well, me and the other Mike's, we kind of got a text started going. Mike Duncan was on it, but he kind of got tired of the tired of it. And it's Mike Duncan. I guess that Mike Duncan left the group and we're like, he'd had enough of this Mike Hike talk. We were talking about if like 10 people named Mike just all went and took a team pick, like on like that PB2, the Cedar Gober look, and like you walk by somebody and they were like, is that all the mics in town? And then we made sure it said Mike Hike, you know, whenever. So I can't believe you do that.
SPEAKER_01I could see that. I could see that it is.
SPEAKER_02Mark Barrett's starting one for the Marks, and I kind of his name's pretty good. It's good man also. It's the the skid marks, is that they call him. And then we're having a uh meeting about uh the mic hike, and it's gonna be open mic night.
SPEAKER_01That's the slash you've been really thinking about. Yes, it's been like a four-year talk.
SPEAKER_02Probably a good amount of Ryan's.
SPEAKER_01Oh uh, we got some good Ryan's around here. Yeah. I'm probably the good Ryan. Yeah. The best available because I mean you guys got fire. Okay. Yeah. Okay. Okay. Keep going. Well, yeah.
SPEAKER_02There's some Ryan's.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. They're good people also.
SPEAKER_02I think it's the the Irish Catholic type of naming your kids. You pick like one of five names, and that's about it. My middle name's James, too.
SPEAKER_01My first name's John. So there you go. I think that's a good one.
SPEAKER_03I did not know that.
SPEAKER_01I'm a John. Wait, you're so John Ryan? Uh no, it's what that's why the middle name's Ryan.
SPEAKER_03You're a fraud.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I didn't know. Okay. I didn't know it was the middle one. John Kelly for that.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01It's not my bad.
SPEAKER_04Why don't you go by John?
SPEAKER_01That's another good question too.
SPEAKER_03To be fair, I like Ryan better than John. Yeah, I appreciate that. Ryan's cooler.
SPEAKER_02But speaking of the fam, I mean your family down here is probably one of the most notable families in lake, lake life. I appreciate that. They are are they from the lake or where did they start their stuff down here?
How Kelly’s Port Started
SPEAKER_02Because they both kind of Kansas City, because they both kind of killed it in their own lane down here. Yeah. Initially.
SPEAKER_01So no, they're both from the Kansas City area. My dad was worked at a bar in Kansas City called Kelly's Westport, and he did that whenever I think until 77. And they came down here. And by dad's honest truth, as he says, he says, I didn't know the difference between the square end or the pointing of the boat. I didn't know if they were supposed to be winterized. I mean, he's he'll he'll tell you that. Really? Oh yeah. Sounds like Fletcher. He loved the lake, so there's uh there's that. He just he's always loved the lake, and it was a getaway, and it got him away from the bar. And so yeah, I mean, once again, you guys are the same thing. I mean, Mike, you've you you can serve a good drink, but if you serve a really good drink, you can become and you guys have done the same thing. I mean, you guys are like, selling cheeseburgers, just bigger cheeseburgers. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. So he he did that, and there's not many entrepreneurs that can do that kind of stuff. You know, I mean, you guys are a couple of them. I will say this I am so very blessed for the opportunity that my father and mom have given us. So, I mean, once again, I can sit there and say we've done this, we've done that, we've we we didn't have anything without them. So that's very, very fortunate. We work hard though. I think we try to try.
SPEAKER_03Work hard, play hard.
SPEAKER_02Where was the first belly support at? Or is it where it's at now, or is it the same place?
SPEAKER_01You've seen many belly flops done there in the last couple of years. Uh Coconut. Oh, really? Coconuts was the first, yeah, where the coconut's location at is now at the seven mile market of grave way. I think it was called Gatlin Boatyard. And they my dad bought it from them, and I think he sold an old Jaguar to buy it. Some V12 Jaguar red, and he sold it to buy the by the marina. So yeah, and then my mom and him lived there.
SPEAKER_05Wow. Yeah, that's crazy.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Yeah. And then she starts selling real estate down here, did she mess with the boats at all?
SPEAKER_01Or she was a gas dock girl, probably the number one gas dock girl, better than Charlie Corbett at sales. She's definitely uh the OG gas dock girl. So we always say the uh the OG lake of the O'rigid. Yes, okay, OG people that are original Gravoy. They are not, but you got like the McDorman crew, yeah. They're they're they're good people.
SPEAKER_02So McDizzle sizzle. Yeah, Dizzle Sizzle. We talked about the McDizzle sizzle before. Bring them back.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah. I don't I don't know who they're talking about, but that's Eugene. I knew this was coming.
SPEAKER_07I knew this was coming.
SPEAKER_03Sorry about that.
SPEAKER_01The pride of the pride of Eugene, Missouri.
SPEAKER_03That's right.
SPEAKER_01That uh we didn't have many W's against you guys, but how did that sound sports?
SPEAKER_03That's all we that's all we had to do. So yeah. And you're you, you know, obviously grew up here, went to Osage high school, all of that. So yeah, and I was from Eugene, and so they played each other in sports, but we only had like one sport.
SPEAKER_05So one okay, basketball and baseball, fine. No football? No, that's a crime.
SPEAKER_03That is a crime.
SPEAKER_02We were talking about before you got on here, but like I ended up when I came down here, I was hanging out with like Stevens and Graham Key and McCartney. Like, so it was all for sales guys, and it's just very odd that I have so many different friends from Versales, Brandon Marriott.
SPEAKER_01Good people, yeah. Yeah, but they dog walked me, my they were very, very good in football. They were very good in football.
SPEAKER_02Those for sales guys can hoop too.
SPEAKER_01So yeah, they were very good that year also. I think they got second.
SPEAKER_02I don't know, I didn't go there.
Slingshots And Childhood Chaos
SPEAKER_02But yeah.
SPEAKER_01I wasn't allowed to play basketball. I got kicked off the team. So it's what happened there? Yeah. So it's one of those things you don't uh throw rocks at mailboxes. You get in trouble for that kind of stuff.
SPEAKER_02I was saying that.
SPEAKER_01Don't get caught. No. Yeah, don't get caught, but no, no, don't do it. It's a federal offense, and uh everybody out here watching, don't do that.
SPEAKER_03Or you keep if you do that, you can't play basketball.
SPEAKER_02I was talking about your they did not let us play. Lovely mother yesterday, and she was I asked her after I was doing we had a real estate conversation, like, hey Ryan's coming on the podcast to give me stories about him. And she goes, he uh had a slingshot one time and put a rock in it, and then it didn't go out of the rock, it just came back and hit him right in the face. I was like, that was your go-to story.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I was supposed to have the first boy girl birthday party. You know, when you're barely taking it off swimming, the swimming pool. So I'm still kind of like that. You know, when the balloon the balloon launchers came out, you got one person on one side and you shoot them out. We had a couple hundred water balloons at my friend's house, I'm not gonna say his name, but we were there and we ran out of water balloons, and you shoot a water balloon, it hits uh the top of a dock, it makes a noise. So we got a rock and it didn't go out, it hit me in the face, and it was really bad. Yeah. Oh god. Yeah, it was really bad. My mom's like, uh, just put a band-aid on it. And sorry, Jane Kelly, I love you. But she said, put a band-aid on it a couple times. And the lady that we were at their house was one of those hysterical moms, you know. Oh yeah, freaking out, I'm sure. Yeah, super calm at this point. But then you see like the back area, and it looks like Mike Tyson punched me and went and like this. Yeah, what? Oh, yeah, this was dang. It was yeah, it was very bad. I had many surgeries and you did.
SPEAKER_03Wow.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it was awesome. Rocks you like a hurricane. It was a great idea. I couldn't see out of one eye for a while. So my mom, yeah, just put a band-aid on and sounds like me. That's how I handle things. And all the girls were there too.
SPEAKER_02Damn.
SPEAKER_01There were no we had to push it back.
SPEAKER_02Oh, it was before that? I thought it was at the boys.
SPEAKER_01So yeah. I went in there and then my girlfriend broke up with me. True story, fifth grade, going for photo shoot, black eyes, got broken up with. Like, yeah, I'll call her out if you want me. No, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Name draw line, name some names. Let's see. That's so funny.
SPEAKER_01Did get broken up with. It was the first time I've ever been broken up with.
SPEAKER_04She said, Man, this guy can't use a slingshot. I'm done.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Yeah, exactly. What she said.
SPEAKER_02So when she said to put a band-aid on it, I thought she went to the Landry Hill school of mom and just band-aided up. Yeah. Cooking.
SPEAKER_03When I busted my chin, that's that was my. I woke up, I busted it, passed out, and I was like, oh, they're all like, uh, hovering over me, trying to figure out what happened. And I'm like, I'll be fine. Just put a band-aid on it. Just cut her finger on it. When did this happen? No, it was just two, three years ago. You're talking about the one in the office? Well, there's two times. There's the first time that happened that was in here in the office.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, that was terrifying.
SPEAKER_03And that's when I said, let's just put a band aid on it.
SPEAKER_02She barely missed like the edge of the table. She cut her finger. She saw blood.
SPEAKER_03It's a long story. I cut my finger trying to poke a hole in a sign, and I got not like it just woozy. I hadn't eaten. I was probably I don't know. It was also probably like day night. It was hot. Like something happened, and I just I'm kind of a wimp with those kind of things. And I like it hurt. And I was like, you know, I was trying to find a band-aid, running around, and this sat down, but then I got back up because I needed air. Well, then I when I stood up, I just you weren't breathing.
SPEAKER_02Probably. She was like under the table. I rolled her over and I'm like, okay, she's fine, and she had this big gash here. But I was like kind of like holding her to her arms, and and uh she like wakes up and I'm doing that and she's like, hey, I'm like, why are you like why are you on top of me right now?
SPEAKER_04Why are you touching me?
SPEAKER_01I had no claim. You have that issue. Charlie Corbett shows up to work one day. Yeah. What do you got on your arm? Go to the hospital last night? He's like, Yeah. Found out I was allergic to uh bees. He had no idea. He was in a shock, wakes up. Yeah, it's one of those things. So our joke with him is now we know you're allergic to bees. The pulp fiction stab you through. Yeah, so we all we're waiting for that day.
SPEAKER_03You're gonna release a whole thing of bees just so you can.
SPEAKER_02The second time Landry heard her chin, Hills goes, We were in the hospital last night, heard her chin again. I go, what happened? He goes, She was trying to dunk and missed. It wasn't even close.
SPEAKER_03No.
SPEAKER_02You hit your chin on it?
SPEAKER_03Same place. Yeah. Reopened. No, I'm oh no, hit that one. No, I didn't jump. Yes, I did. That is exactly what happened. I was jumping so high that I hit the rim with my chin. She aired joined that shit. Yeah. No, I was nowhere close. I hit it on the floor. So it busted a little bit. No, I went forward and just hit it at the same spot.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I was like Jordan dunked. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02There's like a freeze-frame picture of the video. It's all on video. Brian has a video. Now it's a meme. That's pretty wild.
SPEAKER_05But meme and our group chats. Yeah, it's really fun. But I'm all good. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02He'll run around. Yep.
SPEAKER_04Just give him like five minutes and he'll start doing zoomies.
SPEAKER_02Doing tricks. That's funny.
SPEAKER_03All right, Ryan. So you, yeah. So your mom and your dad started
Running The Marina With Kyle
SPEAKER_03Kelly's port. Yeah. And then that's been going for, I mean 49 years. Yeah. 50 next years because that's good. Okay. So that's a big milestone. And then now you and your brother have kind of taken over in a way, I guess.
SPEAKER_01You've taken over the reins. Business partners. Yes, we are. Okay.
SPEAKER_02You guys are on the billboard now, and it is official. I heard about that. Our billboards are close. Yeah, we're like billboard neighbors.
SPEAKER_01We should get hands in the middle and go, hi Kyle.
SPEAKER_03Actually, that'd be really cool. Besties.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Well, that's great. I mean, I know you guys, yeah, it there's been a lot. And so, Kyle, work us through like what you two do as partners now running the business. You kind of have your hands in what portion of that business of the business.
SPEAKER_01Kyle does, once again, uh, I don't want to do it without him. It's one of those things that we do completely different things, but I definitely don't want to do it without him. He's very good at this stuff, being on camera.
SPEAKER_03You can tell his and you're not?
SPEAKER_01No, I mean, I'm not allowed to have a couple bevies and then get on. Hey guys, let's get all these sports. Yeah, so uh I'd probably do decent. But um, no, he's very, very good at he actually won an award and I'll he won an award. It was the boating industry of the year award for YouTube videos pretty much on boats. Okay. His old school ones can be on the camera in the fall and be like, son of a you know what I mean have it. And it was it was it was true, but it it's grown into something may way bigger, as you guys know. So no, he does the front-end office, more sales, marketing, and all that kind of stuff. We do the fixed end, so back end service, take care of docs, blah, blah, blah, all the all the fun stuff get to deal with.
SPEAKER_04The Chachos?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, Chachos.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, your brothers, your your husband works there.
SPEAKER_04Literally, when they told me, I was like, I don't know if this is gonna be the best decision you've ever made or the worst, because it's like Lucas already worked there, and that's like For anybody listening doesn't know, the Chacho's are Hannah's twins' brothers that are the most pro cha dudes you've ever met.
SPEAKER_02They're like, Twins.
Celebrities At The Lake Done Right
SPEAKER_07Twins, twins.
SPEAKER_02They had a wild week. Can we talk about that?
SPEAKER_01They're talking about whatever we want.
SPEAKER_02Oh, I'm saying the jelly roll. You made a comment, which I agree with when you were like It was incredible. When they somebody made a post that was like, Hey, sending all your pictures of jelly roll, and you were like, Hey, leave them alone a little bit because there has been some I mean, more and more famous people coming to the lake, and you want them to have a good time, you don't want them to get chased around. Well, I think they respect you more.
SPEAKER_01It's been a wild year. I mean, you know, we started off with Sophie Cunningham, which she's blowing up to she's shout out. Yeah, we did her golf tournament, and I think that's gonna be another huge thing next year, and then having this opportunity from a neighbor that sells fish. Yeah. You know, he says, Hey, we got tour buses here, and they called and we had fun. I mean, uh they want to be treated as humans. I mean, just they let them let them chill and go fun.
SPEAKER_02So do they just pull up there to park their tour buses and then just cut up the owners and call G Vice?
SPEAKER_01From what I got from it, they had a writer's party. So they had riders, this, that in town, and there's other artists that have done it before. He said he had been here a couple times and yeah, it was it was it was pretty neat, man. Yeah, put it that way. They went to the gator, went to dog days. So the cool.
SPEAKER_03So you hooked him up with the boat and and the broochachos and do all of that.
SPEAKER_02Bro chachos had to be fired up.
SPEAKER_04I know. I told the the chaos they have to be careful or else they're gonna just end up going on tour with Jelly Roll and quit working at Kelly's.
SPEAKER_01I could see that. I could see that. I was like, he loved them so much.
SPEAKER_05How can he not? Yeah, everyone loves his plans.
SPEAKER_01My mom even says that. She's like, Can I get them to take us out when her kids are in town? So yeah, no, they're they're gonna you got two good brothers. Yeah, that was the most wild. Different brothers, but two good brothers. Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_04Well they're it's literally like yin and yang. Like one of them's so like controlled. Hunter's more like me, and then Jack is like cool calm collector.
SPEAKER_01Jelly Hunter now. Jelly Hunter's a good one. Jelly Jackson.
SPEAKER_04Like jelly, like Jelly Bros.
SPEAKER_02The coolest thing about Jelly Roll that I heard from when it was at Dog Days, or he's just like he took care of the staff on everybody. He was awesome to everybody. Like, that's always what you want to hear because every once in a while you get somebody that they're just rude and awful.
SPEAKER_01Shout out, shout out to those guys that are at Dog Days, their rental company. I forget the kid's name of Bombay, but they called the guy that was running Jelly Rolls tour, was so excited to go tubing, he jumped in with his wallet in. Oh no. Gone, Louis Vuitton wallet with everything. So he's the guy that does all the you get this, you get that. And so like he was like, Can you help me? I'm like, okay, I'll help you. So I call the kid at Bombay. I'm like, hey man, I want to get this going, like ASAP for these guys. And he's like, You're the second person today that's told me it's like, well, it's true. You know, it's true. You think he's gonna be here? And the kid and he was the if you see a picture on mine that that's the kid that he's sitting there. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. So it was it was good to see that it it goes around and it was it was a lot of fun. It was a lot of fun. It was good for the lake. Yeah, it was good for the case.
SPEAKER_02And then he gave matchup, but he gave the twins a shout-out on stage. Oh, yeah, that was wild.
SPEAKER_04So we ended up going to the concert and he gave the twins some tickets for like helping them out or whatever.
SPEAKER_02And then what that's the way he said it.
SPEAKER_04That's what he they they did. They drove him on a boat and helping him.
SPEAKER_02Well, it's cool. In the in like the party tourner of summer, I love it because I was like in the office, and you come in and you're like, I gotta go backstage, it's Jelly Roll concert, twins are driving them. I'm like, all right, cool. Did you post that thing?
SPEAKER_01Or like, you know, like all right, yeah, 26 hours. Yeah, like this. Yeah, yeah, it was whirlwind. That was fun.
SPEAKER_04We had like four seats and we were sitting in the front row, and then Jelly Roll like spotted the twins and like did this, and he was like, Twins! And I was like, that is so wild. Like this celebrity just shouted out my younger brothers, and then it's just from like a celebrity memory whirlwind.
SPEAKER_01I feel like we were hanging out with a couple inches, yeah. Which direction? I mean, they they they're like, Upper out. Yeah, everybody's like, did they call them out? Yeah, that's us.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, that's they looked at me and they go, Did you get that on video? And I was like, Yeah, I always have my phone out. You're welcome.
SPEAKER_02So the Cunningham golf tournament, that was the first year last year?
SPEAKER_01First year, yeah.
SPEAKER_02It was the first year.
SPEAKER_01This year was the first year, and she's signed up again. So I think it's the same thing.
SPEAKER_02She is on fire right now. And then she was on UFC, the ring girl. The point thing's amazing. And then they're so funny. And then she's the ring girl right before the counter file. I was like, gee, she got a shoe deal. She's killing.
SPEAKER_04She's a good one. And she's from here, basically. Yeah, she's awesome. Yeah, come on, yeah.
SPEAKER_01She's she was a kicker. I was a kicker. Had a chance to go to college kicking, and I did for second. Did you guys talk about it? Oh, it's awful. Yeah. Now I talked to her about she's better than I totally was, man. I'll admit to it, but yeah. Yeah. I mean, you gotta admit to life, you know. Yeah, she does that. She's she's uh professional athlete, so yeah. But she's got a family of athletes. I mean, her cousins, the tight end at Mizzou. Oh man, I forget his name. His last name's Cunningham. I know that for a fact. But no, that they're uh there's a huge family of athletes.
SPEAKER_02I mean, I'd rather watch a fever game than a lot of NBA games, especially with Kevin Clark's fans.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, she got at golf. We so neck hopefully the next year she'll be able to golf. And uh I'd be able to golf in a couple celebrity things. Ow. Yeah, no, I'm joking. Uh she'd be there while you're at there, yeah. So Albert Pooh's golf tournament. We got to play one hole with Albert Pooh's. Yeah. And yeah, so I told her next year you just need to play one hole with everybody. Oh Michael Sudden's hopefully she'll do that. But who cares if she does or doesn't? She was awesome to be around. Yeah. She was so much fun. But she once again, the gremlins were a part of that, also. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Who's surprised? Not me. Maybe I should just start working at Kelly's Ford so I get to meet cool people. If I had to work with my twin brothers and my husband, it would not be good for anybody. No.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. No. See, if you had to work with your wife, your husband. We have a bunch of that though.
SPEAKER_05So are you love her right now?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I love her.
SPEAKER_02It works, yeah, it works great.
SPEAKER_01I really wouldn't want to work with anybody else. Yeah. Yeah. As long as we're talking about it.
SPEAKER_03Speaking of, like, well, how does, you know, working with you love your brother, obviously, but uh we were there, we were talking about it. You know what I mean? Like it's like you're still siblings at the same time, running a business.
SPEAKER_01I go we meet up somewhere in the middle of the truth. I mean, he's a completely different personality than I am, so you can't expect him to make the same decision I do, but we both had the same goal. Let's have fun, let's make sure the 70 families are taken care of, you know.
SPEAKER_02We can still see when you guys kind of took over, you guys took it to another level in social media and videos and stuff. So I did, yes. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Once again, I've stocked milk in the back. Yeah, that's my second job at Walmart across the country from stocking milk. No, I'm joking. But no, it takes both of us. Yeah. It definitely takes both of us. Uh yeah. So like the Yacht Gala. Yeah. He can he can great
Getting Fired And Learning Fast
SPEAKER_01idea with Romano and all those guys, Chef Scotty and all of 'em, like great, great idea. But you have to have the staff behind you and give the grief to her her brothers and everybody else. But you have to have that server support to make sure everything gets done. And so that's that's what I get to do. And it's yeah, it's fun. It's a team sport, it's always a team sport on both sides, but Yeah, it's a lot of fun. It's worth it.
SPEAKER_04You guys do a great job. Try to. Well-oiled machine over there off of Nichols Road.
SPEAKER_01Until you have a baron go out.
SPEAKER_02So correct me if I'm wrong, but you and your brother also are Horny Toad alumni, if I remember correctly.
SPEAKER_01And I think one of the first uh first couple hired, yeah, Miss Lisa Larson. Yeah. God bless her. She's wonderful.
SPEAKER_02Three of the four of us, horny toed alumni.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I got fired. It's one of the first time I've ever been fired. You got fired from the St. Louis Boat Show.
SPEAKER_02Oh. Oh yeah. I remember, well, my it was my first year there. I was like serving, I think I was busting some tables and serving tables. I had some horrible shifts. And I remember you and your brother got hired and were working there, and then you ended up. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I don't know, man. Oh no.
SPEAKER_02I had some bad ones. I think it was the frog one time or the toe.
SPEAKER_01Man, I was expo and the never mind. That's the hardest. Like no, and then they're like, you can't do that, just carry food out, you know, and smile. And that was about it. Yeah. But no, it was we got it was a great experience to tell you the truth about it. I mean, things happened for a reason. Getting fired, we were 10 minutes late to the St. Louis boat show. All the guys know that you're supposed to be there on time to get boats prepped, ready for boat show. And it was downtown St. Louis. Had to pick my cousin up at Slough. I've got all the excuses, blah, blah, blah. We were late. We were late. And my dad's like, go on, get out of here, you know? And I was like, I just drove up in Springfield. He's like, I don't care. Go home. And oh man. So we got fired. And so we go put in our applications at the Horny Toad. And Lisa Larson's like, You're kidding me. And we're like, no.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that's like you're you're waiting for you.
SPEAKER_01It was an awesome month and a half.
SPEAKER_02Well, I remember you guys were like, we gotta go, dad. Then it said we gotta get back to work. And I was like, I was like, sweet, more shifts for me.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so I keep holding that cord. No, no, and that bell they have something that holds the cord for you, you know? And no, I'm joking. I'm joking.
SPEAKER_03But no. Lucas, get up here and then.
SPEAKER_01She's the best. Incredible. Incredible. So she hires us, and my dad, about six weeks later, says, You guys want to come back? And I'm like, Yes, I'm on my way back. And my brother's like, let me think about it. It was awesome. It was, I mean, you guys got to it was it was the right when the the new restaurant opened up was crazy.
SPEAKER_03It was blowing up, or it was like the the place to be.
SPEAKER_01And I never had the opportunity of not being at the Marine at seven o'clock in the morning to make sure everything's going. So that was awesome. I was like, I get to wake up at two o'clock in the afternoon and go to work at three. Those first stay open. They'll stay awake till the sun goes down.
SPEAKER_02Those are late nights. Yeah. It was awesome. I remember we got so busy right when it opened, we'd have to have somebody come out of the kitchen and like lead block for somebody with a tray just to get people out of the way because it washing pressure washing crew.
SPEAKER_01Chill up. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Pressure washing. Well, it's crazy because that nightclub, it was, I always say it was like the there was the place to be for like a year and a half or two years. It was crushing. Shooters to shut down.
SPEAKER_01Shooters to shut down. That was the next big thing in between there and topsider, which man, that was another. Those were a good time. I missed that.
SPEAKER_05Staller night. I think I was telling when all of that was going on. Where's the new Staller Knight? Yeah, you miss you guys.
SPEAKER_01I just can't. Well, think of it.
SPEAKER_03We should bring it back.
SPEAKER_01We need to find a place that we'll do it.
SPEAKER_03Well, but it has to be big enough. Yes, something like, you know, Dock Knockers would be great, but that's too small. Well, what's that new docs though? Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Dock Knockers just we were there last night. We took the slingshot over. How'd that go? We wanted to check out uh the uh the ABC party, right? Sostumes come in and grab some wild. Yeah, that was fun. I think Khalise had the best costume.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I saw her pictures.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03The caution tape. That was pretty good.
SPEAKER_02Caution tape. Claire went up to shout out Khalise, but Claire goes up to Khalise. She had a really nice, it was all caution tape. She looked good. And then Claire goes, How are you gonna pee in that? And she goes, Ooh. I don't know. And then we were like, Well, we're gonna see you later.
SPEAKER_01Real caution tape.
SPEAKER_02It was real. She didn't pull a punch, it was just a whole caution tape, but it was more like caution tape.
SPEAKER_03It was like a caution tape bikini.
SPEAKER_02Is it good? Yeah, so it was like bottoms and a top. I was curious to see Brand's costume when I showed, I was slightly disappointed.
SPEAKER_04What did he think?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, he wore shorts with like He was like a bag of trash or something.
SPEAKER_04You couldn't wear short. You couldn't wear clothes. Before he left the office yesterday, he goes, I have to wear clothes because I'm working.
SPEAKER_02And I was like, But he also said they were like salty semen or something, dirty semen.
SPEAKER_04Oh my god.
SPEAKER_02But they were just like he wore shorts and a net, and it didn't even make sense to me.
SPEAKER_01What's long hard for what's long hard full of semen? Brand? His throat. What's long hard full of semen? A submarine. Yeah. Okay.
SPEAKER_07Okay. Okay, okay.
SPEAKER_01Sorry, Brian.
Music Culture And Two Friends Weekend
SPEAKER_01You don't have to cut that. No. He deserves every bit of that.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. He said it was pretty good though.
SPEAKER_01So yeah, that's good. It was wild there the other night when Jelly Roll was there. I'll say that. Uh Tony had a good. Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_03Oh, so Jelly Roll was at Doc Knock and Rendezvous there.
SPEAKER_01Oh, nice. Jump back his team, had a little get together there. And so yeah, it was it was a lot of fun. And yeah, it was a long night. Yeah. Not used to that.
SPEAKER_02Hopefully it comes on back. Well, they're on tour, so it comes back. I'm like, oh, he's touring so. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So this two friends thing we're doing here this week. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. What do you mean? What's going on? It's like the event of the summer, bro.
SPEAKER_01I'm damn excited. I told you what's going on. It's in my jam most of the time, you know, getting out and about. Next time I saw you, I was mind blown about uh backwaters. I haven't been there in six years. Oh, yeah. I mean I'm sorry, I had kids and blah blah. Holy shit. The whole new but just go in there and be like, this is what this has be changed. This is insane. Yeah, it's not you know what I'm saying. I get it, I get it.
SPEAKER_02I love for it or something.
SPEAKER_01No, I'd do wrong.
SPEAKER_04No, no, nothing.
SPEAKER_02I lazy's is my favorite though because it's so spread out and you get a little more room to run around and stuff where you're not like packed.
SPEAKER_03Run around because he runs around. I'm gonna go on stage with it. But yeah, no, two friends, they're awesome. I won't be there, unfortunately. Two friends.
SPEAKER_02You'll be there.
SPEAKER_03No.
SPEAKER_02I'm trying to do uh we have a wedding to go to on Saturday. Katie Thompson, Sivitat's getting married.
SPEAKER_03So Katie.
SPEAKER_02Wonderful woman. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yes, she is. So she's get married on Saturday at Herman. You're just Michael Sivitat, yeah.
SPEAKER_02But I fixed that for Saturday.
SPEAKER_01Good family.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, Sivitat family's a great family. So uh, but we I've seen I guess two friends has been at the lake now two times. No, no, three times like four, I think.
SPEAKER_04Four?
SPEAKER_03Oh. Well, I first saw them uh at Red Reds or High Tide, and then they were at when they were That was like the first time we were down third time, third, yeah, okay. And then one time uh at the Gator. But they it is fun, it's a blast. So I like music.
SPEAKER_01Definitely go the musical instruments. I was never able to play one. Sax phone? Yeah, exactly. Saxophone, trumpet, whatever it is. Is it a saxophone or something?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that saxophone guy with him now because he does all those big saxphone drops. Yeah. So it's the two dudes, Matt and oh shit.
SPEAKER_01Maybe a little snoop flute.
SPEAKER_04Ewai, Matt Eye.
SPEAKER_01Huge music people.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. We kind of get into it.
SPEAKER_01Music is a huge part of my life. Yeah. Like if you're in a car with me and you're not playing music, get out. I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_04Ox on his boat is like sacred.
SPEAKER_01You gotta dial down. Me? Yeah, you don't touch it.
SPEAKER_04You're gonna touch it. You don't touch it.
SPEAKER_01Jolie's the only one that's allowed to take over sometimes because my wife's like, I'm down with your music. I'm like, it's the best music.
SPEAKER_03What's your go-to? Like, what's your genre that you play?
SPEAKER_01I will do anything besides like really, really twangy. My tractor broke shit.
SPEAKER_03On a pound, too.
SPEAKER_01Oh, you like that song? Kind of had to do that because of advertising, you know. You're jumping into our showroom, you got pontoons everywhere.
SPEAKER_03See, you just don't like tractors. You just take knives way too many times.
SPEAKER_02In the Kelly's Port, so we're big playlist people. Do you have like a curated like playlist to Kelly's port? No, well in the service department's gotta be way different than the service department we've got.
SPEAKER_03Put those out, you know, do Kelly's port playlists. Joe, we're doing Swift eco playlists.
SPEAKER_02But the sales department, like, do you have like boat songs going?
SPEAKER_03I can only imagine it's like hard rock, like rocks?
SPEAKER_01I'll be a hundred percent honest and sound awful. I don't think so. No, really?
SPEAKER_02I don't, I really sublimely put some like boat songs in there.
SPEAKER_04I feel like the like when I go visit Lucas at work, it's just like awkward like elevator hotel music.
SPEAKER_07And I'm like, don't say that, but yeah, it kind of is.
SPEAKER_04It is. They don't like there's no like music they play.
SPEAKER_01It's just like it's something we learned today.
SPEAKER_04Seriously, you gotta lock in.
SPEAKER_02I uh before I got my big break at Horny Toe in the restaurant world, I worked at Chuck E. Cheese. Uh was a game room attendant. No.
SPEAKER_01And I don't know about gamer to get the tickets?
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah, the jersey and everything. Yeah. But but the the playlist at Chuck E. Cheese with the Showtime at what? Oh, if they paid better, I'd still be there. It's a great job. When you get there as a gamer attendant, you do a thing called coin drop and you literally play all the games to make sure they work. And it takes like two hours. It's awesome.
SPEAKER_04Dude, I would love that.
SPEAKER_02That's why I'm so good at carnival games. But the playlist, it's the show to or the showbiz band, and it's a 30-minute loop. So if you work an eight-hour shift, it's just a 30-minute loop of songs, and all the songs are pizza based. So it's like when the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie. Everything's like pizza songs. And it's like two-minute pizza songs. And then they and then they just keep going. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_01So but no music is a huge thing. So what's getting it? I think you guys are also uh it's it's anything from EDM, not country twang, but everything. The best thing about two friends. Yeah, I I got him downloaded too. Yeah, like five Wisconsin. Super light. I know.
SPEAKER_02The best thing about uh Two Friends is so ADD friendly, so it's like it's just banger, something fun. It's just nonstop.
SPEAKER_01So it's all like the perfect drive. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02It's hard for me to get bored. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Right up your turn. You're lucky you don't have colors on the walls, or I'd be definitely yeah.
SPEAKER_02We were there last Saturday for after we went after Meg Party Cope Great Again, and I was for sure the sweatiest person there. But Mike Posner played, he was good, but he got like a little preachy. It was kind of bizarre. So I saw that.
SPEAKER_03But it was good. It was good though.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. But two friends I'm stoked about. So did you guys do the Aoki?
SPEAKER_04Mm-hmm. Uh some of us did. Yeah. Most of us. Leaner and I said Cassie were there. Yeah. It was fun.
SPEAKER_01It looks crazy. Didn't didn't mean to ask a question that wasn't supposed to. Hey.
SPEAKER_03What did I what did I what was my opening? Everything's on the record. Nothing's off limits.
SPEAKER_01I've left weddings before really because of issues, so don't worry about that.
SPEAKER_02We're uh we're currently talking about possibly because we we love Katie. We're gonna, you know, do the wedding is gonna be awesome, but Two Friends is awesome, too.
SPEAKER_03She's actually the officiant of her wedding.
SPEAKER_02Oh, you're this is like the second or third one you've done that, right? This is eight.
SPEAKER_01Eight?
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01More than Mike McDormand.
SPEAKER_02I usually do the The Power of Love by Huey Lewis in the news as my gathering words, but I feel like might be a little younger crowd than that. So I feel like I need to I gotta write like a whole thing. No.
SPEAKER_03Oh, great. I would just say on brand. I'm gonna deny it.
SPEAKER_02No, it's gotta come from the heart.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it will. Oh, because Huey Lewis is. It will come from the heart.
SPEAKER_02No. Well, no, no. I'm saying the the song, I'll just I'll rip from like Taylor's or something. But I gotta like drive it somewhere or something.
SPEAKER_01You've gotta beat Teal's speech for Sean Mayer's. What was that? You gotta beat Teal's speech at Sean Mayer's wedding.
SPEAKER_02I bet I can.
SPEAKER_01Oh, it was pretty good. It was the biggest train wrap.
SPEAKER_03It was it's pretty good and rough.
SPEAKER_01Until the middle when he says, and then you have a good intro. And everybody's like, all right, give me the mic. It's kind of like right now it's like, all right, you're done. No, it was bad.
SPEAKER_02We did like probably like a hundred weddings out at Chady's when we worked there, and there was one, it was my favorite best man speech. This guy goes up, and it was they were just housed, and this bridesmaid went first. She gave this beautiful speech, and then the guy goes up and he goes, Well, Sarah, you know, never liked me, but John's happy and sometimes just gotta grow up. So cheers everybody. And she started crying, and I was like, it was like crying because she was sad or touched.
SPEAKER_03Well, because she's sad. Well, well.
SPEAKER_04That's so funny.
SPEAKER_02I almost like bad speeches more than I like.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I almost like bad speeches more like good speeches. I know, yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01That was exactly what it was. Yeah. It made me feel better about where I was at. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03It also leaves a lasting impression. Oh, yeah. You know what I mean? No one's ever like, oh my gosh, those heartfelt like moments. And I mean, yeah, they're great, but you always remember the the train wrecks and the bad ones.
SPEAKER_02I wish I'd keep it to 10 under 10 minutes, like right ahead. Right at 10 minutes is I think all wedding needs to be. You gotta couple openers, some gathering words. I think it's cool if the bride and groom do their own vows. I think that's dope. But if not, you do that and wrap it up. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Which way did you go?
SPEAKER_02Which way did I go? Uh huh. We had Elvis do it on Las Vegas. That's awesome. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Uh how excited Swift is for two friends. He's trying to get a Hello 12 friends.
SPEAKER_01I know. Hey, oh yeah. Yeah, two,
Helicopter Talk And Lake Adventures
SPEAKER_01two, two, twelve friends. Yeah, good point. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Well, so so tell me what you think about this about helicopter safety. Because we got a guy that we're trying to get take us in. It was a joke because we're like, well, we'll just do it's an hour and a half drive back from Herman before we get a helicopter, it's 20 minutes.
SPEAKER_01So but it's it's in Alaska.
SPEAKER_02No, we gotta talk to a guy named Jared now.
SPEAKER_03He's got a guy, and he's he but one, this is gonna be I'll tell you this.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, the rules in helicopters, from what I was told, is don't wreck. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Just close your eyes and then when you wake up, you're gonna be.
SPEAKER_03Right, but a slingshot driver? Yeah. Yeah, you guys are makes that back tire.
SPEAKER_02Oh, that doesn't matter.
SPEAKER_01It doesn't matter, it's big enough. Yeah, got tins on it.
SPEAKER_02It's going, it's going clean. No, we're joking around, but then do the helo. We're talking about it. We're talking about landing it at the satellite parking at the gator, just for the story of it.
SPEAKER_01So dude, if he's a good health that is like one of the coolest experiences.
SPEAKER_02Uh Jared guys, he should sent me a video of him landing, I think it was Ashton Martin and some chick on the dock at the gator.
SPEAKER_03But this is all during the day. It is gonna be still mutualized.
SPEAKER_01It really doesn't. So if you Landry's a little worried about the helicopter, so then just I mean, I've ridden in them.
SPEAKER_03I just not worse than buggy.
SPEAKER_01I got Amish.
SPEAKER_03That'll take me out.
SPEAKER_01Landry just clack clack clack clack. The Amish guy passed out. She's oonza oonza with the turntables.
SPEAKER_02If we get back in a helicopter, like, where's Hills and Landry? I'm like, they're walking back.
SPEAKER_01Everyone's gonna be like, walking stop and get some hay on the bottom.
SPEAKER_05Wait, what if you just get like a motorcycle with like the little sidecar in Brian? Yeah. I'm driving, he's in the sidecar. I'm driving the other.
SPEAKER_02Why just hang on to the slingshot? No. The speedometer goes up to 220. I don't even know why.
SPEAKER_01He's like seven feet tall.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Brian in the sidecar would be funny.
SPEAKER_03He can put his knees up.
SPEAKER_02We're talking about good drivers. We got we did the make party code great again last week, which I don't know why we don't carve cove out every week, and it's way better than going to pool bars. Like it is has so much fun.
SPEAKER_01That's the whole reason Lake of the Ozarks was great. Oh, it's unreal. Kids fishing. I mean, when's the last time you saw your kid throw a little uh hot dog in the water at Shady Gator and catch yourself a car? No, you don't that happen out.
SPEAKER_02Fletcher caught a catfish last Saturday in the pool. Yeah. I'm talking about it. Yeah, yeah, but he put it in there.
SPEAKER_01No, he actually called a gator in the pool.
SPEAKER_02No, I got you.
SPEAKER_01Well, you know what I mean?
Yamaha Visitors And A Trip To Japan
SPEAKER_01That was that was what this whole thing when we had the Japanese in town for Yamaha. I got to go to Japan for Yamaha. They came in town because we were like this one little small uh area that sells these huge powered motors. It's like, why in the world is all this happening here? So they wanted to see it.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So we did. We had like nine people from Japan come in town. They were like their higher end people that did engineering and this and that. And then I got to go to Japan afterwards. Well, they're like, What are you guys doing? We cove out and they're like, What do you mean? And we should we drop the anchor, you know? And they're like, Mind blown.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And they're like, Well, get well, we'll show you some video.
SPEAKER_02The guys were like, uh doesn't Yamaha make all those engines stuff, but they also make like electric keyboards.
SPEAKER_01So the crazy thing is, yeah, it's kind of a weird portfolio of stuff. Right. My wife and I got to go see the piano factory.
SPEAKER_03Really?
SPEAKER_01It was incredible. Was it cool? Yeah, I'll bet it was. It was incredible. But the coolest people in that building were the tuners, and these guys walked in, and you're like, when you see like Victor Holland pulling in his like Bugatti, you know, and he walks in, everybody's all excited. These guys come in, they have headphones on, and they walk in, and then nobody talks to them. Nobody they go in their little booths and they sit there and they tune these things, and they're they are so sp or like so perfect on their sound that the digital can't even touch it. It was the most incredible experience I've ever seen.
SPEAKER_02That would be cool. It's so crazy that they're like, we're doing boat engines, and then somebody's like, What about keyboards?
SPEAKER_03Piano keys, yeah.
SPEAKER_01So crazy synthesized that.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01We got yeah, we have to see a lot of cool stuff. My wife did not enjoy the experience as much because she doesn't enjoy uh food like I do. I'm a big bag. Yeah. I'm a big bag. Electric keyboards. I love to eat food. Like you're gonna say she hates electric keyboards and she doesn't know. Yeah, no, but uh, she uh only ate rice and stuff like that. Shows you. Yeah, I mean I get it.
SPEAKER_03Like it's probably very different. I mean, there is very different than I think. But yeah, just wait. Yeah. But for y'all and things like that.
SPEAKER_01Well, that's cool. No.
SPEAKER_02We're rolling. Where do we where do we get to Japan?
SPEAKER_03He went to Japan. Have you gone anywhere else to visit? Oh, we're talking about helicopters and we've got to. Oh, yeah. When people like like them coming here, are there any other I mean you sell strictly yammers?
SPEAKER_01No, no, we'd sell just about anything the manufacturer lets us do.
SPEAKER_03And then boat-wise, but boat brand wise, or may you know, manufacturers of boats. What's like the big five? Yeah, what's the big five? Is there a big five?
SPEAKER_01We start with Regal, Bennington, Tierra, Nautique, and Grady White. Okay. So yeah, they're they're great luxury brands. We're very, very blessed to have them. We wouldn't have them if it wasn't for our service department. I'm gonna shout them out. Yourself? Yeah, exactly. No, you're not your department inner cell. No. I don't want him to pee down there, but if he does, it is what it is.
SPEAKER_04All the other dogs do. It's fine.
SPEAKER_02But like with the Yamaha
Growth At The Lake And What It Breaks
SPEAKER_02and stuff, a lot of those people have to be like, where is this place? Or like they all know where Lake Leozarks is now. Like, I feel like the lake is still kind of in its emphasis of what it's gonna be here in like five years. I feel like stuff's really popping off.
SPEAKER_01What do you guys think? I mean, what was the big push? I mean COVID. The COVID thing, yeah, it was, but there's more to it now, in my opinion.
SPEAKER_02I mean, just I think there's more like well, you guys grew up down here, but like I feel like there's like more people or even like younger adults, like I'm uh 42, but like there's a lot more people that are like down here living full time that weren't here before. And it's just like a lot more year-round stuff that I think's just kind of snowballing everything. But there's just so much to do here. It's awesome. Like I've lived in Keith West Longside with some other places, but this is just I love it here. So and and more and more people are finding out.
SPEAKER_01This is almost island sick too.
SPEAKER_02Do you think not like down there? You'll get you'll want to get out every once in a while, but I mean if you're down there, you're pretty much drunk the whole time, so it doesn't matter. So no, it's different down there. No, I love it down there. It's beautiful, but I love visiting down here. Like I love living here. It's just like it's easier and it's fine. Yeah. If it was like it's going so fast right now in July and everything's so crazy. If it was like this all the time, I don't think I could do it. Right. I mean I'd try to feel like burn out. Yeah. But now it's like you're not getting that break enough. Like it's even like you're getting into November till it like even starts to slow down. Because I used to think it was like Memorial Day to Laborated, now it's for sure like St. Patrick's Day Halloween. Wouldn't you agree? Because boating season's longer, everything's longer, bars stay open longer.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02But but with this, this next year is gonna be pivotal because you got the amusement park, which I just got my hair cut over at Sean's, and they are cruising over there.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, they are.
SPEAKER_02And then if the casino goes down with the Indian casino and You guys think it's gonna happen? Something's gonna happen. So I don't know.
SPEAKER_03I never they don't over till the Fat Lady Sings kind of situation.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03I'll believe it when I see it. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And the one thing with the Indian casino, which I did know, which I'm not stoked about, is I don't think there's as of now table games, unless I'm mistaken, which are big things.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that's interesting. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I mean, yeah. It's just because if you're just playing slot machines and stuff, just go to the gas station. Yeah, just go to Luckies.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_04But didn't they just try to ban that?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it didn't. Yeah, you're that's what I was gonna say. I think that that was the big thing that they're all cutting out of gas stations on a percentage of whatever. I don't know exactly. I don't care. I'm not a gambling person, but I don't I'm not a big gambler. I don't think it's good for our people down here. I'll say it. Yeah. If somebody's mad at me about it, I mean you're I've got a bunch of hourly people that the last thing they need to do is go take their paycheck and go there. Exactly.
SPEAKER_03It's gone. I'm I'm I'm with you on that. I'm the same.
SPEAKER_02I'm a big gambling person. I love it, but I don't want it here. Yeah. Because everything I've heard is like if somebody comes into town and they're going to spend $1,000 and they go to the casino and lose $500, they don't go to the bank and get another $500 out. It's $500 less that goes to all our other locals and everything else.
SPEAKER_01If you're doing well and you have the money to gamble, that's fine. But if you're doing it to try to try to pay for your next XYZ, I that's that's where it I I don't I don't think that's a risk that's worth taking, you know, in my opinion. But if it is, that's the that's their money. Who gets shit?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, but I I mean and it also it goes, you know, there's just so much even with the amusement. Like the I think about the the community itself, too, with all these things coming in. Like whether it's, you know, bringing in people from out of town and and they're having to work. Well, where are they living? Where are they staying? What's happening? You know what I mean? And and so there's a lot more that goes into it than just, oh, this is something cool and fun. Our economy's not failing.
SPEAKER_01No. No, but an implant of it, I know that that it could it could bring something good, but also you gotta think about the negative that could be a little bit more.
SPEAKER_03There's more. Yeah, there's a lot.
SPEAKER_01And you gotta think about it. I mean, it's just like data centers and stuff going around. I mean, I try to get down this road. Rabbit political. Like, what do you do? I mean, is there is one of those show me state places that, yeah, show me how it works, show me how it doesn't.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Well, I think just like with all that stuff, like how many renderings have we seen of different buildings and projects down here that have not even never done anything scorched the surface of anyone? But the music park though I'm looking at it and I'm like, this looks like it's happening.
SPEAKER_03I know I mean that I am I'm excited. Yeah, I'm honestly because I think we need more things for families and and kids. Like we have a lot of stuff to do. Just do it why can't we? Yeah, like I think it's a great thing. Again, it goes back to there's gonna be a lot more employment and people having to live here. So I'm thinking, as a real estate perspective, you know, housing and things like that. Well, not just for me. I'm just saying, I'm curious like how that's gonna play out. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Traffic and and you know, there's just well, even if you just think about like that turn off of the highway right there, right? They're gonna have to redo that at some point.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, how how do you do that? How do you redo that? It's a better opportunity of redoing 54 through Camington than redoing that right there. Yeah, that's above my pay grade.
SPEAKER_03That's gonna be interesting, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Well, like I was saying, we grew up, I grew up in Eureka where Six Flags is, and there's like a six-lane exit that's like crazy to get off there, and there's like a bunch of accidents, and it's pretty sketchy, but it's just how if everyone's getting off in that one spot, it's just gonna be crazy.
SPEAKER_01You guys got some sneaky cops around there, too, by the way, bud. Oh, in Eureka, 94 to 60.
SPEAKER_02Eatowns?
SPEAKER_01Sons of bitches, yeah.
SPEAKER_02We also uh Eureka won the best small town in America, so sorry. USA Today uh USA Today vote us best town small town America 2015.
SPEAKER_01We're not Googling this right now, but I believe it's a damn nice town. Besides the cops and sneaky. We have we have roller coasters, they were sneaky, they're like Springfield bike cops, you know.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, it's like the Tesla cops in Lynn Creek.
SPEAKER_02Where?
SPEAKER_04Lynn Creek.
SPEAKER_02Those are Tesla sneaky. Yeah. But they're they're all everybody's complaining online about like that curfew deal with the kids down on the strip. And I I don't know.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I mean we had the chief.
SPEAKER_01I mean I don't know.
SPEAKER_02I don't like yeah, because you guys grew up down here. Like, what is just in the strip? Yeah. Right. I mean, what's on how you start doing that? Like right when you're 16, right?
SPEAKER_03I mean, but before, I mean steal a car and do it before you know that's gravel if it's just it the you know, then it was wasn't probably as big of I mean it was big still, but it, you know, things have changed over the years. Just cruising the strip was a big deal back then. It was, but it also, I think the the bar I mean, I don't know, I don't remember much. I don't know what's changed. Yeah, yeah. So I think it's a smart thing.
SPEAKER_01They're gonna go somewhere, you know.
SPEAKER_03So cruising the strip, it's like the but give them somewhere, give them that go to the amusement park. Yeah, literally, you know what I mean? Like stay away from because that it can be dangerous and it can, it's kind of you know, yeah.
SPEAKER_04I mean, I'm not trying to hang out with a bunch of 14-year-olds when we're out having fun. Like, yeah.
SPEAKER_02No, it's getting so busy down there it makes I mean if it makes sense. If it's that late and you're 16 down there, you're not it's cruising. It's not anything bad.
SPEAKER_01There's been some I mean, that's what it's been kind of talking about.
SPEAKER_03I mean, there's it happens. No, yeah. But but also, but at the same time, we need stuff for them to do. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So batting cages.
SPEAKER_04They're yeah, bring uh mini golf.
SPEAKER_01I'll tell you mini golfs gone. Just go to bed. Bumper.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I don't have any kids.
SPEAKER_03No.
SPEAKER_01I've just kids. We just had dinner Sunday.
SPEAKER_03I mean, you can only go to the movie theater so many times. You know what I mean? There's just kids watch movies.
SPEAKER_01Kids are on the movie theater all the time, though. I mean, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Right. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So looking at you too, bud.
SPEAKER_03Top goal, baby. Nobody is evolving and it'll be exciting to see what it is here in a couple of years.
SPEAKER_01That actually happens, yeah.
SPEAKER_03For sure.
SPEAKER_01Real neat. Do you think it's gonna go down? You think it's gonna finalize?
SPEAKER_03No.
SPEAKER_01The what? The the casino or the I I think the amusement park's gonna go down. I'm excited about that. They'll be neat. The Marriott and all that, hopefully that all goes down and it gets taken care of.
SPEAKER_02I was cheering for the other casino if it was gonna go down, more so than the India casino. 100%.
SPEAKER_01It's local, it's local friends. Exactly.
SPEAKER_02If you're gonna spend money with people that you know your people, but I don't want I don't want it to be like a Boonville sad thing where it's like you go in there and it's just old people smoking and give up their money.
SPEAKER_01Ribbon CIGs. They got robbed kind of like the horns like the toad did back in the day. Really? Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, forgot about that. Toad life. Hey dude, I wish it was a there needs to be another, well, oh, speaking of two friends, like another nightclub. Lakehouse 13 is like such like a it almost feels like a little outdoor nightclub. It's sweet. I think a couple of those guys from two friends, not the uh Matt and Eli, but I think some other crew's gonna stick around and go to Sunday Fun Day. Because Jason was talking about that. And I was like, are you gonna go?
SPEAKER_04And I'm like a boat I can borrow on Sunday.
SPEAKER_02Oh man, I might ruin my Monday.
SPEAKER_04I gotta I gotta take a look at it.
SPEAKER_01You gotta get the hydration people later on on Monday morning. You need a boat Monday?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I gotta take the two friends people out.
SPEAKER_01Monday or Sunday?
SPEAKER_04Sunday. UN list. Who's driving? You or the twins. I got grants.
SPEAKER_02I got so excited at Lake House when they played that Freebird song last time. I threw my shoe at somebody.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, me.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I threw both of them at on purpose or just because I just got excited.
SPEAKER_04I was standing on the table at Sunday Funday because I love Freebird and he mashed up Freebird with courtesy of the red, white, and blue, and I was like, all bets are off. Shotgun to make Ultra. Swift looks at me, balls up his shirt, and just chucks it in my face. He's like, Yeah.
SPEAKER_01You said you were sweat beading.
SPEAKER_04Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah, sweat bead. And you were sweat bead of all sweat beads. Oh, I was just covered in sweat. I don't know what it was. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Honestly.
SPEAKER_01It was a lot. I can call that for sweating, also. I'm a perfume sweater. So I apologize. You get a little dance in you? Hey. A little party? I'll see you Saturday. I get a little dance in you. My wife's like, are you all good? And I'm like, Yeah, I'm getting just sweating.
SPEAKER_02That's that's looking around and I was like stopping away at sweating. I'm looking, I was like, is anyone else hot? And they're like, not that hot.
SPEAKER_01And I'm like, Saturday, I'll wear gray if you do.
SPEAKER_04No, you need to wear your Terry cloth set, like the matching set.
SPEAKER_01I I can do that too.
SPEAKER_02I'll tell you what.
SPEAKER_04Wear a towel, please. No, it's literally towel material. And it's a shirt and matching shorts.
SPEAKER_02I need to get in some better shape because I've been going nutshirt at the bar recently and too much.
SPEAKER_01I called myself out for being a big back, and I am. You're talking about knocking yourself out on your chin. I uh climbed on a tractor at a friend of ours' house early this year, St. Patty's Day. And when I got down off the tractor, my foot missed the uh tracks and I fell and hit my head on my wife's car and oh my god. Knock myself out there my tow.
SPEAKER_04It's like why you can't turn your neck.
SPEAKER_01That's why I'm a little jacked up right now. Yes. Apologize. But yeah, yeah, I was uh I was pretty pretty bad
Boating Business With No Secret Sauce
SPEAKER_01shape, so I think I apologize.
SPEAKER_02With all like the like all the money coming to the lake and all the stuff going, how do you think that changes like the boating industry? Because it's like even like MTIs, I remember you see one every now and then, and now it's like even a party cove, there was like a whole line of them, and you're like, holy shit, like just all the outboards and stuff. Like, do you see like is there gonna be crazier boats coming? Do you think there's gonna be some sort of like because there's room to grow here, so you can just keep ripping these boats, and it's just yeah.
SPEAKER_01I mean I never thought that we would see what we're seeing. Yeah, I mean you see a house that's six stories now. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, what it's a house?
SPEAKER_01Good for us. Yeah. I think it's I think it's great, but like the boating game, you've just gotta keep your head down. I mean, I I there's no secret sauce. I mean, if you guys knew the secret sauce for selling everything, you would have every listing, you'd have everything.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_01I think it comes down to people's experience. So they get an opportunity of buying a three, four, five million dollar house from you guys, five hundred thousand dollar condo, two hundred thousand dollar property, whatever it is. Same thing on boat. It's all the experience, and then off the also the experience afterwards. So I think that if you get the chance of selling something, you do it. You just do it. You know, you get that opportunity and we we want it. We want more. We've always been family-owned, not corporate, and kind of the ones down below. We're we can do everything and everything else. Do anything every everybody else can do. And I think we have the better brands. I think we have not only that the best, the best back end. I mean, we've got our front end's incredible.
SPEAKER_02You guys got it going on? Oh man, yeah.
SPEAKER_01We have fun. It's it's not it's not a business anymore, it's a family.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I get phone calls at night talking to talking to guys, hey man, I need help with my girlfriend. Cool. You know, whatever. And I know it's it's it's funny, but it really happens. And so it's one of those things that you just gotta they are a part of your puzzle that you have to have. They might not be the top part of it, but they you have you have to have them. So you gotta you gotta make sure you're there for them.
SPEAKER_02No, it's cool, because you're your whole crew like hangs out together and then like runs around together. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01And then we have the service family, sales family, whatever. It's just it it's it's different. We say let's keep it weird. And that's let's keep it weird. Let's I mean, you guys also same, yeah. Let's keep it weird. Let's be different, let's not be so fucking crazy and weird that yeah, people don't want to be around us, but at the same time, like you might try it every now and then try it out. You don't want to be around us, but that's funny. Fuck off. You know, same thing.
SPEAKER_03It's like well, that's kind of our slogan, have more fun. You know what I mean? Just in life in general and and what we do. I mean, we we live here, we work here, we play here, and that's kind of the name of the game. Like that's the whole point of the lake lifestyle.
SPEAKER_02So it's easier to have each other's back, like at work when you know what you're doing outside of work because you're like, all right, I can cover you here, you can do this, or kind of work together and do all that stuff.
SPEAKER_01So they always say don't shit where you eat, and that's a that's a oh my seriously. You don't shit where you eat. Yeah, for sure. You don't, you don't shit where you eat, but you have fun also, you just don't fuck it up. Right. I mean, I can tell, I I'm not lying. From driving up and down Palisades Drive, I can tell from where people are from, from where they how they do their trash.
SPEAKER_07Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Think about this. Oh man, I could really alienate some people here, but I'm gonna think about it. But I can tell who has trash service with recycling from where they're from and not because you'll have a trash can that's full, closed, lid snapped, everything ready to go, and then you got two other trash cans next to it with lid snapped on, and then you got a pile, you know. A fucking pile on top of it, raccoons everywhere, you know. Yeah, you can tell. You can tell.
SPEAKER_03I'm pretty sure the pile, the raccoons are that's like Eureka's and Lewis shit, right? Like that's what I'm thinking. That's on our flag.
SPEAKER_02I didn't say that.
SPEAKER_04Do you know uh Swift caught a raccoon in his attic one time with his bare hands?
SPEAKER_02No, I caught squirrels.
SPEAKER_04Oh.
SPEAKER_02Those are dangerous.
SPEAKER_01Squirrel balls. Squirrel's jaw is stronger than a raccoon. Be careful on Squirrelish. Oh, chop your finger off. Oh no, look this up. Okay.
SPEAKER_04Google it.
SPEAKER_01Ow, I'm I'm smart.
SPEAKER_02We uh that that house we lived in, we moved into a new house in November, but our other house, we uh we couldn't figure out a smell, and we're like, is something wrong with the washer? And there's a raccoon that died in a crawl space, and I was like, I kind of felt bougie because it was just sitting there. I was like, I found it and I was like, oh man, I was like, I'm gonna have to pay someone to come grab this, and I was like, I just need to grab it. So I went and got one of those disintegrated. Not in disintegrate it. Fall apart? No, it just died.
SPEAKER_03They do though.
SPEAKER_02We had one that like and they just like mine disintegrated. I went to I went to Walmart and got one of those grabbers that like old people do and just scoop it into it. Like pick stuff up.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's a big one.
SPEAKER_01I couldn't. It was a big dog? Yeah. It was oh no, Dustin Wisecup. He yeah, he was uh thank god he was there. But I found him a little bastard. My neighbor called me and said that you had raccoons in your house. I said, nah. Yeah, we did. Yeah, we did. My brother-in-law.
SPEAKER_03Oh, here.
SPEAKER_01Raccoon bites harder than a chipmunk or a squirrel. According to who? Raccoon says who? Yeah.
SPEAKER_03You put your answer is generally no. Okay.
SPEAKER_01A raccoon can't bite a nut in half of a squirrel can. I'm not lying. I think you're wrong, bud. Just because you this because you're on the raccoon family over there, and I'm on the squirrel family. This is why we need more data centers, because I don't think that's right. Hey, you need to cut her off. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Ask Google Gemini.
SPEAKER_01No, there's no way that a raccoon has a stronger jaw bite. A rat cocoon. What's the PSI on that? Can you look it up? Then a a a squirrel, a squirrel, those motherfuckers eat nuts all the time. I'm being serious.
SPEAKER_03Oh, actually, talking about animals. Oh, we should you're a big duck hunter, right?
SPEAKER_01No. No? No, no, no. I I try to be. Oh, okay. You have to know how to call them and talk to them. And you don't?
SPEAKER_03I feel like you can do it. Is your phone broken? Did you bring your call? Like I want to hear it.
SPEAKER_01No, I did not bring my call, but I'll put it this way there's certain people that know how to do it, and I am not one. Typically, I'm the one that scares them. It's because uh a couple cans of Bud Light are probably involved with it. Thank God we're on private land, so we can't get in trouble.
SPEAKER_02Okay. So when you scare them, do you sneak up behind them or and go boo?
unknownGotcha.
SPEAKER_01No, I love duck hunting. Yeah, duck hunting is probably one of my favorite things of all time. Yeah, I like watching the dogs work.
SPEAKER_06That is what a dog hunting does the end of it.
SPEAKER_02Where do you go do that?
SPEAKER_01It's called Blairstown, and we take an annual picture of Blair Ziggler there every year for a long time. My favorite my favorite thing about the picture is it's Blairstown, it's like population 109, and there's one bullet hole. And like six years later, like 30 bullet holes because people are just shooting with it. Really? Oh, yeah, Blairstown's uh where it's at.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that's that's
Yacht Gala And Kids Harbor Impact
SPEAKER_02hood. So if we go yacht gala this weekend, so how does that start? Like Kai was saying you switched your shoes with somebody, and then you guys were joking around about having some sort of party, and then it's bobbing this because what last year was our first year going, and it I think it's one of the coolest events down here. I think everyone, like the reserve does such a good job with it, and then you guys all buy all in. It's just a cool event.
SPEAKER_01But a hundred percent, and I don't know who exactly said we're doing this, but I know Scott Romano did a similar event in color or California, and he said this is really cool, and he has I think it was that Pinot and Pigs deal that the Spears was talking about. Yeah, yeah, and so it was kind of his idea, and we've gotten close with him, and he said, Well, okay, let's try and do it, and that's how it's kind of gone. And I know that the charity Kids Harbor, I think they lost a donor. So this became the next. So yeah, it's really, really neat. I'll admit. I'm not a huge part of it besides the back end, making sure stuff's ready. So my brother, Julie Pitzer, Scott Romano, Spears, and all those guys, they're the they're the ones that are making sure everything's gonna go down. But yeah, it's neat. I mean, Nicole Rao and all those guys, Pierre Torres and the food donations. I mean, it's huge. I mean, yeah, it became it's the largest charitable donation event at Lake of the Ozarks. And in my opinion, it's become the event at Lake of the Ozarks. I think so. You know, and I I'm the milk stalker in the back and I still have fun.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I mean, yeah, it is enjoyable. So fun.
SPEAKER_02It's it's our Catalina wine mixer.
SPEAKER_01It literally has done a very good job. His team has done a good job. I mean, the sales team that that we have, they have to put a lot of time and effort into it, and it takes away from them selling. But I mean, the one percent we donate is pretty neat, you know. So if you're wanting to not buy a boat tomorrow, which go ahead and buy a boat tomorrow, we'll push it into the one percent. But yeah, buy buy a boat, and one percent of that goes to the kids. And the kids down here in Lake of the Ozarks, you guys have grown up, I think it's like 10 counties or uh 12 countries, yeah. Several they're taken care of. And but yeah, no, it it it's it's for the kids, and it's for the kids that are not spoiled like I was. They they they need it, and it's for good cause. It really is. It really is, yeah.
SPEAKER_04They have a bunch of different like live auction things this year, and they got some really cool ones going down.
SPEAKER_02All the food, drinks, auctions. Because your brother was he's been talking like on your Facebook pages where you've been making announcements of like really cool, like the production value of like what the auction items are is sweet.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, there's some neat ones. So Brian Battagio, he's I think now he's the number one chef in the United States or the world since he just won the seventh whatever, but he's one of the best chefs.
SPEAKER_04Was it like top chef or something?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, top chef and all that. I mean, sorry, buddy. I'm looking at you. I apologize. I apologize, I should know better. But no, he's he's excellent. He's got a friend coming. You can get a dinner for like 12 people or something like that with him. Oh, I bet that's awesome. There's another person that donated some homes in St. John. And I went to one in St. John. It's it's absolutely incredible. So there's a lot of opportunities.
SPEAKER_03What is the homie five get? Well, remember.
SPEAKER_01Walsh, remember, bro. Wherever you're at, remember, homie.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it's the some homes have been donate donated for the charity, the auction, like and you get like a private chef, and right.
SPEAKER_01Kelly has been to some nice places, and he's like, that was awesome.
SPEAKER_03Really?
SPEAKER_01You're in St. John. You're in one of the nicest places in St. John. You've got one of the nicest houses on St. John. Oh, yeah. Yeah, you have the opportunity to have a boat that drives you around Naya and love you, hun. Yeah, she's awesome. Yeah, yeah. No, she's awesome. Yeah. Uh, so you can go anywhere. It's awesome.
SPEAKER_03But yeah, there's several really good.
SPEAKER_04I think it's really like popped off too, because there's not like another event at the lake in the summer where like every all the locals and like tourists can like get together and like dress up and do the whole like wine.
SPEAKER_03I mean, yes, we have a lot of charity, you know, the shootout. We have the the lake community is charity oriented. Yeah, you know, like did I say charitable? Charitable, yeah. Charity. I know what you're saying, but yeah. The shootout dinner is probably. You know, we have a lot of big things in the wintertime that you can dress up and and go to, but the it's just the reserve is such a great place. Um it's on the water. You guys bring the boats, you can wear your nice dresses and and whatnot, and eat some awesome freaking food and drinks, and it is so much fun.
SPEAKER_01My dad was a part of starting the shootout.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Really?
SPEAKER_03Really?
SPEAKER_01Mm-hmm. The fire department and the card game, damn it. During the smoker runs. Oh, harbor up. Harbor up, yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. She was well because like we um we were doing that belly flap contest at Tap and Grill, because we're like, well, not everyone's gonna go to the shootout, doesn't want to travel down at Captain Runs. But last year, everyone's like, we're going to the shootout, and we're like, oh shoot. So this year I think we're gonna go to the shootout. But just because it's like right by dog days, it's a whole different thing. And it just looks awesome. So it's a whole different deal.
SPEAKER_01Is it gonna be as big as this year's last year, you think? I think it'll be bigger.
SPEAKER_04I think everyone's like seeing like what it's like at the new location, and they're all like that.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01241?
SPEAKER_02Well, I think everyone was just like there was there wasn't everybody, but there was a lot of people complaining about the new setup, and then they did it, and it was awesome, and then everybody shut up and then. Yeah, they ate their words real quick.
SPEAKER_01I think one of the coolest videos of that weekend would be is somebody on the glaze bridge at 4 30 in the morning watching. Oh like a time-lapse type of deal. Yeah. I was like, Jesus Christ, this is gonna be nuts. You know what I mean? To see it at the the mass wave. It reminded me of going to Party Cove. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Drive by all the water. Patrol and everything.
SPEAKER_06Don't pull us over. Yeah, please.
SPEAKER_01Everyone just looking straight ahead. Then six hours later.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. We're coming out of party covers like every there's just people just like screw this no way.
SPEAKER_01No. Last Saturday they were.
Jelly Roll Cliff Jumping And Benny
SPEAKER_02I just think they just didn't get what was going on and just ripped through it. So it's funny. Well, we were just talking about a love for Wiener dogs, and we were kind of though you were joking about this jelly roll thing, but he like pulled this dog out of his mouth, his backpack.
SPEAKER_01I mean, it wasn't kangaroo style, but it was a little bit like a kangaroo, you know, like they have him there, but it was like 18 hours later. We went cliff jumping, it was a good experience. Going cliff jumping with jelly roll, and my daughter wouldn't jump off. She's like, I won't jump off. I don't want to jump. And she saw a wiener dog like the day before, and she fell in love. You know how that is a 10-year-old or 11-year-old. This is 12, actually. Dude, every time I come home, I fall in love with that wiener dog. I love that fucking dog. So he I she goes, Will you buy me a wiener dog or buy me a dog if I jump off? I said, No. And Jelly Roll just jumped in. He's like, My balls, which was hilarious. It was so funny how he said it too. It's just like how you'd think you would say it. Yeah. And so he's like, I will. So he brings her up, brings her up on the cliff and says, Hey, blah, blah, blah. I'll buy you a wiener dog. You'll be here tomorrow. We think it's BS. My daughter jumps off the cliff again, says, I'm getting a wiener dog.
SPEAKER_04Yay! Yeah, she said, I'm jumping.
SPEAKER_01About 10:30 that night, we get a phone call from the manager. He's like, You're gonna hate us or love us?
SPEAKER_03Oh.
SPEAKER_01Got a wiener dog tomorrow.
SPEAKER_03Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_01That's crazy. We have a wiener dog. There should be a video out. I think they have the production crew there. And so his name's Benjamin J.R. Kelly for Jelly Roll in the middle. I get the JR now. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. So that's really cool. That's a really cool story.
SPEAKER_03I mean, also props to Kennedy for being like, Yeah, get me a dog.
SPEAKER_04That girl knows what she wants and she gets it.
SPEAKER_02Also, next time she's up there on the cliff, you're gonna be jumped. She's go, buy me a jet ski.
SPEAKER_03Buy me a car, buy me a car. Give me a little bit. Give me a little bit timers. I'll take a plane. Yeah, and I'll take the clip out.
SPEAKER_01Cliff's broken.
SPEAKER_03He goes, he sees Ryan with a backpack of dynamite and he's like, blowing this clip up.
SPEAKER_01No, but she is she's my she's my sugar bear. She gets what she wants most of the time. Let's go. Wiener dog's the way to go.
SPEAKER_04You gotta give Carson a shout-out, too. He's he's dope. He raised some great kids.
SPEAKER_01He is, he's not, he's not a bad son. He's he loves he loves the twins. He loves Lucas. Lucas and I had the opportunity of hunting together and shooting the first deer with Carson and getting the opportunity of doing that. So that was absolutely incredible. And Carson said that Lucas and I looked like we were twerking. Because if you shoot a deer, I don't know, I don't know. Because you were twerking. Well you shake Zoom back. So excited. You're like, oh my god.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. What? It's like an adrenaline.
SPEAKER_01You've never shot a deer. No. Oh, you have to. No, I will not.
SPEAKER_05I will not. It's so fun. I mean, I will not. It just like you would probably pass out again and chin.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, put a chin strap on.
SPEAKER_05Shit that back. Sure.
SPEAKER_01You do not need to go first.
SPEAKER_03Could you imagine her in a tree stand?
SPEAKER_01Well, in a good blind, she knows.
SPEAKER_03From the country, like I know. I still, I I just I love animals and I don't want to shoot a deer. I just meant for the part that if you passed out tree. Cows? I had cows, chickens, horses. Cows? Do I eat them? Yes. And actually, I hated it. My dad would butcher them. And I refused to eat the meat for a long time because I knew it was our cows.
SPEAKER_02If I were one hunting this be, I'd be sitting in a tree plant on my phone the whole time. It'd be deer as well. No, you'd be making the breaking.
SPEAKER_01Same thing as dug hunting. You'd be sitting there like messing around. Next thing you'll look like everybody shut up. You start screaming and yelling at everybody, and you're trying to be quiet, and the birds fall on top. Yeah. How old are your kids now? 10 and 12. 10 and 12. Carson just turned 10 and he bleached his hair blonde this year.
SPEAKER_05He did.
SPEAKER_04He looks like Eminem.
SPEAKER_02I just remembered this story, but we, me and Clara, we had an iPad and we put it on Facebook Marketplace. Oh, yeah. And it was for one of his kids. Carson still has it. And so he called it. No, yeah. He called, he's like, hey, we'll buy that iPad. I'm like, oh, sweet with salts. So there was some sort of deal that we could get pre-engraving on the back of the iPad. So Clara put on the back of the iPad, fuck what doesn't make you happy. And then we forgot it was on there, and then we sold it to him like on Marketplace. And then he calls me like two weeks later and he goes, Hey, uh, that iPad that I just gave my little kid. And I go, Yeah. And he goes, It said something on the back. And then I was like, Oh, dude, I am sorry. And he goes, No, I kind of like it.
SPEAKER_03Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_02I forgot about that, so it's not. Probably has a lot to do with what's on the back of the iPad.
SPEAKER_03Oh, probably. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04That's Brandt's one-eyed dog.
SPEAKER_01Come here, Brandt?
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03She's a Versailles.
SPEAKER_01Captain One Eye over here. Army matey. Look at this boss. She's got a eye patch. She's got an eye patch. No, literally he has an eye patch. Oh, I know. That's my brother-in-law. What? My brother-in-law's got an eye patch, too. He's a good man. Your brother-in-law. You know when he's favored.
SPEAKER_03Wait, do you have a sister?
SPEAKER_01No, you don't. No, I have a wife.
SPEAKER_03Oh, oh, duh.
SPEAKER_05Duh.
SPEAKER_01Yes, I do have a sister though. I have a sister. Yeah. She's 50. That's right. Yeah. I thought you did. Okay. But then now I'm getting it. She's awesome. Yeah. She's absolutely awesome.
SPEAKER_04Lay down.
SPEAKER_01What is kind of what kind of dog is this, you know?
SPEAKER_04Shitsu.
SPEAKER_01That's a shih tzu? Yeah.
SPEAKER_02What do you think? What do you think? Would your daughter jump off a cliff for that one?
SPEAKER_04No, if you called Kennedy right now, she'd be like, no, I'm okay.
SPEAKER_01No, she's she's not a little bit of a couple of things.
SPEAKER_04Kennedy is the most like blunt to the point person I've ever. It's so funny.
SPEAKER_01She's pretty much.
SPEAKER_03Who does she take after you or Kayla?
SPEAKER_01That's a sour that that's bad. It's me.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Her personality is Ryan.
SPEAKER_01And then her looks are Kayla. Yeah, for sure.
SPEAKER_03Oh, that's good.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Carson is looks like you and 100% Kayla.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. But no, no.
SPEAKER_03No.
SPEAKER_01No.
SPEAKER_03He's always so shy when I see him. You're not.
SPEAKER_01I I am now. You guys have no idea what this took to me to get on the sunbitch. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05So proud of you.
SPEAKER_01This is this is not me. I mean, you're doing great, sweetie. Thanks, Landry. I appreciate that.
SPEAKER_04Are you so glad? We were on the boat like a month ago. We were both drinking. And I go, Will you please do the podcast? He goes, Yeah. And then I could just see him like slowly regretting my oh no, what did I do? What did I get myself into?
SPEAKER_01I have failed many times in my life by telling people, yes, let's do more. And then whenever it comes down to it, you can't. Yeah. It really pisses people off. So yeah, yeah, no, I I I need to get better at that in life. I that's that's my I try to make everybody happy. And you're not gonna ever go do that. That's not possible. Let's start a band. I mean, ask him. Let's start a what? Let's start a band today. A band. Yeah. Okay. Band?
SPEAKER_02A band. We'll play Katie's wedding Saturday. Oh no.
SPEAKER_01I was just crying like the earlier. I can't be a little banjo crying bitch. Why were you crying? About country music. Oh.
SPEAKER_02Crying about it, yeah. I thought you were crying about some music. I've been just jamming to music in the slingshot. The slingshot. We're gonna go for a ride. No, you're gonna be a good thing.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, so maybe that's that's how we end this. We let you two go on a little a little slingshot
Slingshot Rentals And Rental Car Rage
SPEAKER_03ride over the bridge. On the slings, slingshot.
SPEAKER_02Shout out Lake Escape and the Evan. Is that them? Lake Escape came through. They have that.
SPEAKER_01That's do you know his brother's like a professional uh referee?
unknownWhat?
SPEAKER_01Boosin? The Boozin guys? Professional referee? Evan. Yeah, yeah. I don't know if Boosan, you don't know what to do.
SPEAKER_03What is he referee? Like 400.
SPEAKER_01He did the uh NCAA tournament last year. Get out of here. Really? I had no idea.
SPEAKER_02I did not know. I'm a big escape room guy. I really like it. They are really. I thought it was like I thought it was a good one. Have you ever done one? And it's awesome. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I like all of them. Yeah. My favorite escape room story. And if I have 20 minutes, if these guys allow me to do it, uh it's not good. 20 minutes. Oh, it'll take about two. Chill out. You won, man. I'll sit and talk to the camera by myself. But no, I go to an escape room with Dustin Wheels. You're in an escape room. Who builds homes? Yeah. When he's like, click, click, click. Just we get out and they're like, you cheated. He's like, it's getting out.
unknownYou have to go.
SPEAKER_01Oh, he just broke out.
SPEAKER_03Well, yeah, he knows how to build shit.
SPEAKER_01This is not fun.
SPEAKER_03That's not the point of it.
SPEAKER_01It's getting out so you don't die underneath the dam whenever it's flooding.
SPEAKER_02I mean, I'm claustrophobic. We went, we have a really intense friend named Jeff. We have a really intense friend named Jeff Shaw. And we did a skate room with him. It's a guy with one leg, and he's he's he's one of my favorite people. And he's so intense, and he would find a clue and he'd be like, It's over here, you fucking idiots. And you're like, why are you yelling at us? We're on the sins here.
SPEAKER_03Emotions are real high on the side room.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01It's we're not gonna sing.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01But we might.
SPEAKER_02No, but uh I went to my car, I had car trouble, cycle, it's it should be done today. And I tried to get rent a car. I tried to rent a I tried to rent a car and I go to Enterprise and they go, We don't have cars to rent. And I go, I'm sorry, I thought this was a car rental place. And then I two days later I call them and I go, hey, just making sure you have a car. And they go, We have a compact car and a mid-sized sedan. I was like, hit me with that mid-sized sedan, paid for it. I get a confirmation number, I go there and they go, Hey, the reservation system doesn't recognize reservations. And I was like, Well, I felt like that Seinfeld upper set. I was like, anyone can just take the reservations.
SPEAKER_04Rent company? None.
SPEAKER_02That's so I so I was like, there's gotta be someplace to put in a car and there's gotta be some place that rents cars. So I I just googled it, and then the Drew's shit popped up for those slingshots, and I go, Oh shit, I would have picked that anyway. For a UN Enterprise. Dude, I've been cruising out. You knew those bridge laps, it's nice. They got a nice little system. Go fast. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04What do you say like the speedometer says?
SPEAKER_02Like, speedometer goes to 220, which there's no way. Is that kilometers though? I don't know.
SPEAKER_04Oh, it might be credit for it.
SPEAKER_01I got to go to 20. What is that then? I got that's true. I've been going like 15 miles an hour the whole time. It's like 110 miles an hour, if I if my math is right.
SPEAKER_02I gotta give it back to then to Lake Escape today. But if I had it one more day, I'd get some of those spark things up from my fingers and just drag my hand and shit.
SPEAKER_01Like, I know what you're talking about.
SPEAKER_02You can get them on team.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_06Let's do it.
SPEAKER_02Then we'll get to go faster. It's sweet. Let's go do a bridge slap. Let's bring the highly, highly recommend the uh the slingshot. It's nice.
SPEAKER_04Shout out Lake Escape. Shout out Lake Escape Rooms.
SPEAKER_05Full-time escape rooms, part-time car rentals. Whatever you do, do not try to book a rental car on Enterprise Downline.
SPEAKER_07Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Enterprise, just go ahead and DM us and redeem yourselves. Redeem yourselves, please.
SPEAKER_03I want all the smoke.
SPEAKER_02You guys never even call me back either.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Enterprise count your days.
SPEAKER_01I was like, You just took it? Oh, fuck yeah. We just stole a car. Left it in Eldon. They were like, This is not the return place in the Eldon Enterprise. So leave it there. Fuck them.
SPEAKER_04They'll figure it out.
SPEAKER_01No, I was so pissed. Like, you can't do it. And the guy was like, I'm quitting tomorrow. Give me a hundred bucks and you can have it. And I'm like, and dude, jetted back. Jetted back.
SPEAKER_02Why are rental cars? What did they stop trying or what's going on?
SPEAKER_01Obviously. Rental cars. I mean, since Rob Deirdick and all those guys did the $16, $18 insurance thing. Yeah. Yeah, rental cars are yeah. Yeah, I rented a U-Haul once. U-Haul truck. Yeah. Man, oh man. They should have learned their lesson there. That thing came back with its tongue hanging out. Like a beaten dog, dude. I'm not lying.
SPEAKER_02Dude, I run U-Hauls all the time now 42, but it's a move to like trash and stuff around. That guy's awesome. Who? The 42 U-Haul guy? I don't know his name, but he's the best. I'll like go haul some trash, take it to the dump. I got a hard ass.
SPEAKER_04He has yes to get U-Haules.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_04That's a trash, dude.
SPEAKER_01He's a human trash around. Well, I mean, what like how do you develop the trash? Like, that's what I'm saying. The trash just comes to me, man.
SPEAKER_04Well, no, what's the guy from Sesame Street? Oscar the Grouch. Yeah, Oscar the Grouch.
SPEAKER_01Oscar the Grouch?
SPEAKER_02Him and I are friends. My old car. Hannah and Katie cleaned out my old car. It was crazy. There was a car back. I had my old Jeep. It was sitting in the back for a while.
SPEAKER_01The f got busted into.
SPEAKER_02You got your eggs stolen from. No, that was they they gave me eggs. They stole everything else. That was a different one.
SPEAKER_01Yes, they let the egg in there. Yeah.
The Stolen Car With Zebra Head Story
SPEAKER_01That's my favorite thing. He's trolling your ass on the Camden County website.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, we haven't told the story on here, but I got my car stolen at Wicked Willie's.
SPEAKER_01And then Yes, the story's awesome.
SPEAKER_02And then he started messaging. They thought it was this guy named Neilio Forelio. And then he called Clara and he goes, I'm sorry I stole your car. You guys seem really cool. And we're like, can we have our car back? And then so he was like on the run, they found it, and then they brought it, they towed it to down here a C beach drive or whatever. There was a tow place here. And we go in and they're like, we're like, oh man, someone really stole this car. And there was a zebra head in the back that I won in a coin flip at Shady Gators.
SPEAKER_01Like taxidermy?
SPEAKER_02Yeah. And they're like, what's no, not a taxaderie?
SPEAKER_01No, it was a taxidermy. It was like the the yeah. Zebra head.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it was a zebra head. So I had my car because one of the best taxidermy schools in the country is on Lynn Creek. And I was trying to get it fixed. And the guy goes, If you just want us to glue an Afro uh rainbow wig on this thing, you're in the wrong place. And I was like, what are you talking about? But I guess in Zootopia, so great movie. Anyway, so they stole it out of the car, and I'm telling the cop that there was zebra in the back, and they're like, What do you mean a zebra? And I go, like a zebra head? And they're like, describe a zebra. And I'm like, What? I was like, the fruit-shy gun. I'm like, What are you asking me what a zebra is? And then they went to Claire and there was a Ray-Ban sunglass case, and they were like, Are these your sunglasses? And she's like, I have Ray-Bans. And they go, Are these your sunglasses? And like, she's like, Maybe. And they opened it up and there's like syringes. And I'm she's like, those are not.
SPEAKER_06I know. I don't have them.
SPEAKER_02But there was in the back, it was a big brown paper bag and it had big eggs in it. It looked like the ostrich eggs or something. Yeah. It looked like the egg the dinosaur comes out of in Jurassic Park when they're going through the thing.
SPEAKER_01This motherfucker said they tasted good and stuff.
SPEAKER_02Well, they wouldn't let us keep it. And then so he's he knows who we are and he's messaging us, and I was like, dude, I gotta. And he's on the run from the police. And then he's like, I'm like, yeah, Neilio, you still owe me money from sorry, yeah. Can't garnish your wages. Can't garnish your wages if you don't have a job, bro. Yeah. Uh but he's like, uh, he's like, these they make the best omelets. And then we send in, he's sending me like omelet recipes and stuff. And then I was like, I'm like, what are you doing? Like, what do you think?
SPEAKER_04Oh my God. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02But then also he, I got at an open house, one person showed up. It was the police with a subpoena. And so they showed up or decided to go to court, and I had to wait for like an hour for him to show up to court to see if I had to testify. First 10 people come, he doesn't come. Second 10 people come, he he shows up, and we know who each other are now because we've been messing each other. And I've been waiting there, he's ruined my whole day. And he walks out and he sees me, starts waving, and I go, What am I doing? This guy stole my car. This guy stole your car, and you're like, hey, he's he's the celebrity, not you. Well, he also Are you for real, while he was on the run, he broke into a house and they took a picture of him, and I knew it was him because he was wearing a Misfits t-shirt. And then it was the same picture he had in his profile picture of him like being like, and I go, I go, Neil, you broke into that house. He goes, It wasn't me.
SPEAKER_01And I was like, allegedly.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, it's probably on my allegedly, it's probably on uh on my Facebook messenger, but uh, I'm like, allegedly, dude, you broke into that house. And he's like, he goes, Oh man, uh yeah.
SPEAKER_04I was like, just a minute. He just confessed on Facebook Messenger. He was on the Camden County website.
SPEAKER_02He gets out every five minutes. It was awesome. DJI nothing's funnier than saying it wasn't you in a picture, and then you're wearing that shirt in your profile picture. It's obviously you.
SPEAKER_04Well, this got out of hand. Hopefully, no one steals any boats from the yacht, Gala. And if it is, we know who it is.
SPEAKER_01He had some bangers last year. They went did the whole touch and touch, and then it's like, oh, somebody was driving my boat. No, we watched you bang into everybody else's boat. Oh, that's not good.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, that's uh the service department fix it or no?
SPEAKER_01I saw you guys. You guys wanna talk to Paul Spicka? No joking.
SPEAKER_07Rip it.
SPEAKER_01Dude, he's Doc Walker. Have you guys ever heard Paul Spicka's Doc Walker?
SPEAKER_07Yes.
SPEAKER_01And I'm gonna call him out right now on this. Is what? Doctor. It's called Doc Walker. Okay. And he's been doing like this Doc Walker radio, and he's gonna be so fucking mad at me about this. Holy shit. Doc Walker Radio?
SPEAKER_04Shut up. Like D O C K.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_04So I thought you were I thought you assumed that he was saying dog.
SPEAKER_01Oh no. Doc.
SPEAKER_04Doctor. No doc, yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So my name's Rusty Cleet. That's my backup name. That's a sweet name. Yeah, I know. He came up with him by himself. Damn. All right. So he does his Doc Walker radio whenever he sees something that's really banged up or different, and he goes in this beautiful accent.
SPEAKER_03And can you I'm so intrigued right now. I have no idea.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I know. I wish I could like at this like crossing the line because he doesn't want anybody to know it's him. Yeah. But it's like, oh, I'd
Weird Service Calls Like Florida Iguanas
SPEAKER_01not gonna get my phone out. Or we're gonna go. No, we're not going with last question yet.
SPEAKER_02Like, so one of my favorite dumb YouTube things is this guy will do like weird things to his car and bring it in to get it checked. So he filled like his whole like oil tank with beans and then like make beans and then they go in and they're like, Yeah, and then they're like, Your car's full of beans. Like your he's like, what? And he's like, actually, weird. Have you like in the service department? What's like the weird have you running anything that's like super weird, or where someone's like, hey, I think this is wrong, and they're like, Yeah, there's a whole family of raccoons living. Or is there anything bizarre? Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So we got a guy that his name's uh Rusty Cleet? No, no. He's very, very loud, and I'll say, I'll call him out. Ron Beesboer. Yeah. My dude, my dog. So you need a pet in Rusty Cleet before this goes out. That's a good name. I know that's a good name. Rusty Cleet, yeah, just in case. Ron Beesboer, he is the OG of OGs. We call him like, your boat got shipped up here from Florida, and is there supposed to be a iguana?
SPEAKER_03That fucking thing doesn't fucking want dude.
SPEAKER_01He just loses it. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03And iguana in like in the engine, or like the boat. Like in it. Yeah. Oh, it came from Florida. Yeah. Was it shipped up a little up here?
SPEAKER_01So our service department kept it for a couple years. Really? Yeah, yeah. On the 99th century.
SPEAKER_02Dude, that's how like all of a sudden there's gonna be like an infestation of iguanas and Missouri. It's like armadillos.
SPEAKER_03They used to only be South, like in Texas.
SPEAKER_01That's nothing joke around about. Yeah, I thought you were gonna call me out.
SPEAKER_03I'm like, I was wrong. I'm like, no. Don't armadillos have like bring them in. Don't ruin the podcast by armadillos right now. I mean, come on.
SPEAKER_04I hate them, but don't they have herpes? Or is that those are you asking me that?
SPEAKER_01I didn't give it to them.
SPEAKER_04You're the animal guy.
SPEAKER_01Give it to them.
SPEAKER_04No, that's what I'm thinking of.
SPEAKER_03What is it? Chlamydoriasis or some weird screen. Scalies. Scabies. Skebies. Is it armadillos?
SPEAKER_01Are they getting siding nets?
SPEAKER_02Koalis of chlamydia.
SPEAKER_01No, armadillos. Hepatitis C.
SPEAKER_05Hep C, yeah. Oh, Hep C. Chlamydia, same thing. Yeah. Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_04Turkey.
SPEAKER_01There's a better chance of Landry shooting a purse. That's for sure.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, that is. Bop bop.
SPEAKER_03That's no lie.
unknownOh.
SPEAKER_02I went to I went to deer camp with Hills, and we just played beer pong all night, and then uh everyone slept in and no one went hunting. And I was like, is this hunting? I don't know.
SPEAKER_05That's my kind of hunting. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01You want to go duck hunting? We'll do it.
SPEAKER_05You might like duck hunting.
SPEAKER_01Actually, duck hunting. You could actually do a in in-house duck hunt, Starlink Mini, and you guys we stream a duck hunt.

SPEAKER_02I actually want to do that. I also want to do it's not.
SPEAKER_05I just like the dressing up part. Yeah. I love cam and watching the duck hunt.
SPEAKER_02I want to go to the laser shag arena and then the Shane Gills did it, but we'll do a podcast tag or laser shag. Laser both. But laser tag, and then in between it pod like 15 minutes and go rip laser tags. That'd be so funny. Where at? It was a laser with a UFO on it.
SPEAKER_04It's like right by the They've been trying to sell it for a hundred years.
SPEAKER_02Marina.

SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02What's what's the noise again? Say that again. I don't know. I was trying to think it's the wrong noise. But anyway. Speaking of Nintendo, can go Mario Kart it in the slingshot.
