What's the most important scripture study tool in your arsenal? Is it the footnotes? Is it the cross-references? Is it chapter headings? Is it Bible dictionary, topical guide? Is it commentary? A lot of times teachers get called, and they wanna know what's the best commentary, or what's the best book to help them understand the Book of Isaiah so they can teach the Book of Isaiah, and that's the wrong approach. We're not telling them what the scriptures are. We want them to discover them for themselves. And the most important tool in the scripture study arsenal is the pen or the pencil. And I came up with a new name for it that I'm gonna use this year in my quest to get 1% better in every area, and I'm gonna call it the ponder pencil or the ponder pen this year. So it's gonna be like, "Take out your ponder pencil," "Take out your ponder pen." And this is why I believe it is the most powerful tool. Because we know we're supposed to read, ponder and pray, but a lot of times we read, our mind wanders, and we never get to the pray. There's something about writing when we study the word of God. And if you watch my channel and look at my videos and follow along in my training, you'll see that there is writing in every single lesson. And I will be explaining next time the power of the scripture study page and why I do that. But I believe pondering leads to revelation. And so the pen is your most powerful pondering tool, and it, and it adds to the formula read, ponder and pray. Otherwise te- what we see a lot of times, and before I really got into the study pages, I would say, "Read," and there would be reading and no pondering and no praying. But reading can turn into writing, and writing turns often into praying if we help them and train them to do that. And that's what you will see as I share some of my strategies. That's what I'm helping my students today to do. And that's when it turns into a powerful experience because we're finally living the formula, read, ponder, pray, and getting the Holy Ghost and inviting the Holy Ghost. So what the pen does is it focuses our mind. A lot of times, the Lord will give us one line of information, and we're like, "Ooh, that's good." But there's more behind that if we write it down and slow down and say, "Teach me more." It's like the Lord waits to see, are you gonna write that phrase down? And the moment you write it down, more thoughts start to come, and it fuels the revelatory process. Now Power up your pondering with your pen. Woo-hoo-hoo-hoo. Power up your pondering with your pen. A pen turns reading into pondering. The pen is the bridge between scripture and revelation. Don't just read, ponder with your pen. A pen in your hand puts pondering in motion. Yes, pondering with the pen is the most powerful scripture study tool. You might say, "Well, the Spirit's the most powerful scripture study tool." I agree 100%, but the pen and pondering activate the Spirit in our life, in, in our classes.
