SPEAKER_00

Anthony Roberts. Robert. How are you, my good man?

SPEAKER_01

Good, good. Yeah, no, doing really well. And I have to say, I like your tan, Robert. You're looking good.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's the benefits of being medically retired. You get to hang out in the backyard, and I uh lower the temperature of the hot tub to about uh 85 degrees. Nice chilling it, like just a big fat polar bear in a in a bathtub, so it's fantastic. So, hey, listen, man, I want to start off first of all by throwing a quote out there from a 1993, I think it is, song by Salt and Pepper called What a Man. And there's a lyric in there that says, I want to take a minute or two and give much respect due to you, buddy. So, for those that don't know, our last podcast, the genius inside of me somehow managed to mess things up. And I thought we lost the entire recording of the episode. And I'm not gonna lie, I went into a huge amount of panic and didn't know how to tell uh Anthony, but he took it so great, he was like, Yeah, dude, it's okay, don't worry about it. It was still a lot of fun, and Anthony fixed it. So thank you, dude. Thank you for I mean, I think I only got a couple of little left of hairs on the top of my head, so I didn't want to lose those ones, but yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

No, I'm super glad that we found the episode. And and actually, it was your it was your hint to me that kind of hit me in the face afterwards when you said something about it being recorded on an old episode, and then I kind of looked at the old episode and I saw that it was like an hour long, and I'm like, that doesn't make sense. So we ended up uh recuperating the 35-minute episode, and uh yeah, no, awesome.

SPEAKER_00

Thanks for the nice, nice. Hey, so listen, so inquiring minds want to know, or at least my inquiring mind have you or Aaron ever been approached about swinging? Dude, yeah, so and and here's the reason why. So, okay, I know your face was fantastic, that's kind of the what I expected. Yeah, so earlier this about two weeks ago now, I was approached and I was asked if I wanted to swing. And at first I was like, no way am I gonna do that. And then I started thinking to myself, you know what? Like, do guys my age still swing? Like, is it still a thing? And you know, when I was a younger, I guess I would like, you know, I would do it probably anytime I probably could, but now that I'm older, the thought of getting on a swing, swinging and falling off is just terrifying to me.

SPEAKER_01

You do know what swinging is, right?

SPEAKER_00

I know, I know. You know, folks, if you could see our faces, it would be actually classic. So, but yeah, I had this. I was so I was like sitting at a park, I was doing my mindful meditation, and just happened to be a bunch of kids playing, you know, on the swings, and this little boy walks up to me, he's probably about seven or eight, and he's like, Excuse me, sir, would you like to swing? And I was like, Well, that's so nice of you. Thank you, buddy. But no, I would not like to. And then it got me thinking, like, when did I stop being so adventurous? Like, when did I become so like paranoid of you know, getting hurt? I mean, obviously, I I've you know gotten a lot of bumps and bruises and breaks.

SPEAKER_01

I'm confused. Are we talking about like swinging or swinging here? Swing not a swing. Okay, Jesus.

SPEAKER_00

Well, that was my intro to it. Just wanted to see your face when I mentioned you know, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

He's like, dude, I've got a good intro today. I didn't realize me with swinging, just your face. No, for the record, no, not really.

SPEAKER_00

So then swinging on a swing. When was the last time you or Aaron swung on a swing?

SPEAKER_01

Probably not that long ago. I've got a nine-year-old, you know, nine-year-old and an 11-year-old.

SPEAKER_00

Every time we go to a park, we swing. So that's true, that's true, that's true. Very good point, very good point. Yeah, it just it just got me to thinking like uh what point of my life that I, you know, like the water is too cold, and you know, there's no point going outside because the snow is too deep, and you know, just I'm not gonna get on a swing because if I fall off, I'll break a hip or some kind of crazy shit. So, you know, like it it brings.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, that could be like uh, you know, just learning from past lessons. Uh it could also be age, like you know, once you my you know, mom got into a ski accident uh because a snowboarder hit her. Well, she wasn't that eager to go skiing anymore, even though she was an avid skier her whole life. You know, I think it's just a reality, but I think we do lose a bit of a spark, and sometimes it's okay to be reminded that it's okay to take a risk, you know, and do something that that that goes beyond your comfort.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, absolutely. No, I get that. I get that. Like I said, just it was not a profound moment, but it was more about like, wow, when is the last time I actually got in a swing? And wow, when is the last time? You know, like it's just yeah, it was crazy, crazy. And then it got time to start me thinking, is it like is it a physical thing, right? I mean, yes, you're right. I learned from past mistakes and injuries, and God knows I've had enough already. I mean, 22 times now in my lifetime I've been put under for a surgery, so I've got a lot of fake parts in me. So, but I started thinking, like, is it a is it a is it a body thing? Like, you know, do people with dad bods get on swings? Do you know, am I the only aged person that won't get on a swing now? You know, it is it, you know what I mean? Like it's it's it's crazy to me that this brought up this sort of thing.

SPEAKER_01

I don't see a swing as being crazy. I I see a swing as being crazy if you decide to like flip off it and land on your feet, you know, going full tilt. That that for me is like, okay, I'm too old for that shit. My knees will explode. So yeah, no, there's no doubt. And in regard to the dad bot and aging and and all that, like, I mean, we're getting old, man. It just is what it is.

SPEAKER_00

Yep, you know, the funniest thing is that you know, you'll you'll, I mean, and anybody will attest to this. You get onto Instagram, you get onto Twitter, you get onto anything, and you just go down a rabbit hole of like, you know, you know, 50 plus uh exercise and stuff, and you see these like fit giants and stuff, and I'm like, what the actual? And of course, right, there's the outliers, you know. I had a reunion, so to speak, a couple of weeks ago with some guys from Guys and Girls from my high school year of graduation, and I was happy to see that a good 90% of us put on put on weight and have lost the hair, that kind of stuff. So it didn't feel so bad, but yeah, you know, like prior to the car accident, you know, I was the fittest I've ever been. I mean, my job is early 40s, but uh yeah, there's now when someone says dad bod, I'm like, oh you know, like mine because I'm a dad, I got a bod, but it doesn't fit in that you know that category kind of thing. So I don't know, and it's not that I I don't want to be healthy or I don't want to just I don't know, man.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, like there's a lot of healthy dads out there with like six packs and stuff, but they're not like the majority, uh you know. I think a lot of us are like giant squishmallows and squishmallow.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my god, that's brilliant.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and you know, uh when I bend down to play with my kids on the floor or something, I'm I'm you know, my knees hurt on the ground, and meanwhile I turn YouTube on, I see guys twice my age doing backflips, you know. Um, so yep, yeah, like I can thank some you know, kind of like uh WeGovi and Ozempic to an extent from my not too bad dad bod. Yeah, because I've lost 49 pounds since last October.

SPEAKER_00

Well done, bro.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so that helps with the dad bod. I mean, it sucks that I couldn't do it, you know, drinking water and eating broccoli, but you know, whatever. I'll take technology any day of the week.

SPEAKER_00

So, you know what? That actually brings up a pretty good question. Like, I know there's still a lot of stigma around it, right? Because some people would be like, you know, how'd you lose weight? I I got sick and I lost the weight. Like, people are still, despite the fact that it's so prevalent out there, they're they're sort of ashamed to see I used a Zempex or I use Wigovi or I use these kind of things, and shit, I don't know, man. I think if it wasn't so expensive here in Canada, I think probably every damn person would be on it, you know what I mean?

SPEAKER_01

So well, like so at first it was a commitment because you know, I have cardiovascular disease and all this stuff, and I have like 249 pounds, and I'm only five foot eight and a bit. So I decided to commit to it even though I couldn't afford it. But now, just recently, they've got the generic stuff, so it's like 300 bucks for three months worth instead of you know 500 bucks for one month. Exactly, and so that's gonna be a game changer for folks, especially here in Canada. So talk to your doctor or whatever. I'm not giving you any medical advice, I'm just saying, like for me, I was successful in losing 49 pounds. I still have my dad butt, I still got my pot belly, I'm still a lazy dude, and you know, I'm not perfect here, but and you know, if you are the the dad that's waking up in the morning before your kids wake up to go for a half-hour jog, well, God bless you, like good for you.

SPEAKER_00

Like, wow. I have a buddy of mine, Jeff. So, you know, my age gets up every day, Monday to Friday. He goes to the gym at like god-awful 4:30, five o'clock in the morning. He does his workout, he does his all the kind of stuff, then he goes to work for eight hours and he comes home, and this guy is nonstop, like he's a machine.

SPEAKER_01

And he must be great, though. They must like they must feel great, like their their clarity of their mind must be absolutely heightened, everything must be text.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I mean, I I can you know definitively tell you that prior to the car accident, I did the same thing, right? I was at the gym by 5 a.m. I work out for an hour, come home, you know, shower, shit, shave, go to work for eight hours, come home, eat quickly, and go to the soccer pitch, and then be there for two, three hours, and that was like wash, rinse, repeat, you know, for like five, six days a week. And I had insane clarity. I had, you know, my focus was bang on. I felt amazing, you know, and then it things obviously because of the car accident, things changed and stuff. But yeah, yeah, it it you're you're absolutely right. It does create uh uh, you know, obviously a hand in being very healthy and very for longevity and stuff, but yeah, it's it's a commitment, man.

SPEAKER_01

And I applaud all those people that actually do that big time, big time, and you know, for me, like I may not do that every morning, but I avoid buying Nutella, and that is my you know, when I walk by that that alley and I see the Nutella and I get by it without buying it, that is a victory.

SPEAKER_00

Sweet, instead of doing the aisle do the victory dance. Woo! Yeah, yeah. I'm like, I did it, I did it. Meanwhile, everybody else is like, what is wrong with this dude?

SPEAKER_01

Well, because if I buy it, I'm gonna have you know a soup spoon in there within the within 10 minutes. So fatal, yeah, exactly. So yeah, no, and what else, dad bod.

SPEAKER_00

That was actually me with uh peanut butter instead of Nutella. Me and my brother Steve were just ravaged, like peanut butter kind of crazy people to the point where and I never figured this out when I was younger, how my mom always knew that we had actually gotten into it. Yeah. Because we're like, you know, in my mind, it was like, if I don't use a spoon, it won't be in the sink, she won't, you know, catch us. And never thought, you know, can wash or put it back in the drawer. So we're like, we're gonna use our hands. So we you know, jam our hands at the peanut butter, take out a wicked amount, and just like eat it off your fingers. And then as I got older, I realized, well, shit, we left fingerprints or you know, claw marks in the friggin' peanut butter, and she knew damn well it was my brother Steve and I. So yeah, I'm a mad fiend for peanut butter, and you know, every now and again I'll still walk by a big spoonful and away.

SPEAKER_01

Peanut butter is amazing, man. Peanut butter and jelly is still the best sandwich out there, and there's speaking of dad nobody's disputing it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I can't see many of these uh fitness uh fanatics on uh Instagram hammering down two jam and peanut butter sandwiches, right?

SPEAKER_01

You know, like again, dad, you know, mode. I I like some dad things, you know. I like I like frost uh not frosted flakes, ran flakes. I like brand flakes. I'm guilty, I like it. I don't know why. I like brand flakes, and I like what it does to my body, it's healthy, you know. It's your regular teen year old thinks about, and you know, so there's some things that I that I that I do that's okay, and you know, they drink coffee and uh and drink wine, that's healthy, right?

SPEAKER_00

Well, apparently, apparently, I think it's uh what they say, it's what you put in the coffee that's that's the bad part. And oh well, you know, I watched that show with uh Zach Efron where he went to I think it was someplace in Italy to like centennials and stuff, these people that lived over 100. Okay, they asked this one guy, like, what's your secret? And I I think I remember correctly, he was like, I walk everywhere and I have like two glasses of wine a day. Perfect. Damn, I gotta start liking wine better, I guess, if I'm gonna live longer. So yeah, it's all crazy.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I think historically, like one glass of wine a day, or or maybe two at most, is is is still to this day a healthy thing, like uh red wine, you know. I think when you get into the white, it gets a little sweeter. I'm not sure. And it's easier to drink, like that's my problem. I like white wine, so it you know, it's easier, bigger glasses. I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

I'm with you, buddy. I'm the what you call it, I'm the girly drink ones, right? Oh, yeah, you can actually, yeah, when the Dominican always go for the the fruity drink with an umbrella and stuff.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, yeah, I'll have a cerveza, and my buddy here is gonna have the pinkity drinkity rainbow cherry.

SPEAKER_00

Amen, man. Amen. And it's funny because the fact that you had the cerveza, they would put, I don't know, it's like what maybe at best six percent alcohol. I'd have like eight ounces of booze in my fruity.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, right.

SPEAKER_00

That was like a free pour. So yeah, but again, I'm still you know, like a honeybee to to nectar. It's like the sweetness that I go towards, so which is probably not good.

SPEAKER_01

It helps with the dad bod, yeah. And you know, I think Canadians, and especially like in my my roots for being from born and raised in Quebec, you know, we like our our food, we like our poutines, we like our steaks and burgers, and you know, it's just our reality that I don't know what the word is, but we pig out.

SPEAKER_00

Well, those are the three food groups, aren't they? What's that? Putin, steak, and burgers. Isn't that the three food groups from the Canadian?

SPEAKER_01

Well, it was when I was 18, I can guarantee that.

SPEAKER_00

Uh so what's the when you had a metabolism and yeah, you know what?

SPEAKER_01

You said the magic word there. I don't have a metabolism, and that would be great. If you can if you've seen my metabolism, call me, okay. I've been looking for it a long time now.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I used to tell people, right? Then you'd be like, Oh my god, Rob, I haven't seen you, you know, in like 20 years. I'm like, oh, back before when my ego was bigger than my waist size, my metabolism, you know, and my hair was still in place, right? But yeah, I don't know. And yeah, just thinking about it, you know, like if I was younger, looking towards the future, if there's one thing I think I could be able to keep, honest to God, like if it's like you know, what's the most overrated thing about being an adult is you know, not even overrated. I would I would say I would want my metabolism back, just because not not because I wanted to eat like shitty and you know and do that kind of stuff, but just to be able to process things so much quicker and you know, nutrients get to the body, and you know, a cheat date doesn't hang over is so much better.

SPEAKER_01

I used to party till 3 a.m. and then go to a double shift as a busboy. Now I can barely type.

SPEAKER_00

It's we were just in the Dominican there last uh last October, and I realized that that that was the epiphany moment for me when I was like, Jesus, I can't do this, man. Thank god I'm retired. Because just drinking by the poolside in the next morning, we're like, Yeah, we're gonna get up at eight and we're gonna go breakfast. And I was like, eight. It was like 10 o'clock before I actually fell out of bed. Just my whole body was like, You can't do this anymore, man. You're way too old.

SPEAKER_01

Well, the smart drinkers there, they always have a glass of water next to their, you know, whatever. So they're like, water, water, drink, drink, water, water. And you're like, Wow, you're a genius. How did I not think of that?

SPEAKER_00

Even well, even for my buddy, when uh it was his bachelor party and I took him out for his bachelor party. This is you know, 30 plus years ago. He same thing. Every drink, he he told the bartender, listen, they're gonna hammer me so bad, but please, every drink, give me a you know, a little glass of water. And honest to God, man, that he he managed to stay such a simple thing to do. I was like, what's going on? I mean, you're in the bathroom 95% of the time, but uh yeah, it certainly helped him. Yeah, now I'm just I'll be like, well, there's like ice is water, right? So I technically have water in my girly drink, so I'm covered.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Well, so so I don't I mean, I'm a skier, and like as a skier, gravity does most of the work, so like cardio-wise, like the the kind of activity that makes you lose weight and and lose the dad bod. I don't particularly do. I'm guessing when you played soccer, that was like hardcore cardio.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, god, yeah, man. Even as a coach, when you know, like I said before the car accident, running around the field with the kids, you know, being the uh junior soccer coach or the goalie coach, yeah, you know, diving, demonstrating. Man, I was like I said, it was fit as a fiddle, probably the best tribe I'd ever been in. And part of it is because of just being consistently moving, doing a lot of stuff. And but I mean, from your perspective with your with the skiing, I mean it's that's core activity, man. Like you engage your core.

SPEAKER_01

I'm I'm not saying I don't do exercise when I ski, I'm just saying, like it's it's kind of like golf. There's a lot of technique involved, and gravity does play a role. Uh so you know, if you're on a perfectly groomed hill at a good incline and you're doing the proper technique, you're not you're not true dying out there, you know. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Uh if you're in powder heli skiing and whistler, then you're fucking that's a whole other thing, obviously.

SPEAKER_00

But you know, yeah, some crazy bastards doing that stuff. Actually, I just start watching this. I guess that's a reality kind of uh TV or or show thing, and it's called the Hundred Foot Wave. Yeah, it's got these guys, these mavericks that surf these like monstrous waves. Like, I I don't know where in your brain you think I'm gonna like test Mother Nature, right? Like jumping out of a helicopter and skiing down the you know uh oh yeah, no, no, Mother Nature, leave her alone. Yeah, it's crazy, man. Just crazy. I mean, hats off to these these uh crazy people, but I sure as hell would not be uh I I get the the draw for like adrenaline, and you know, you get hooked into it and you want to do stuff, but like some of the stuff is nuts.

SPEAKER_01

The the surfers that like are on waves that are like you know 20 size their height, and and and the the wave is curling over their head as they're moving, you know, who should across the ocean. Like, what?

SPEAKER_00

Yep, yep. This whole thing's around a place off of Portugal, called what's Portugal, it's called Nazare in Portugal, and it's apparently the world's biggest waves, and some of these waves are hitting 100 feet, and these guys are like, Yeah, let's do it. Like, you guys are nuts, man.

SPEAKER_01

I wouldn't even be on my porch, you know.

SPEAKER_00

Get inside, get on the sofa. Mother's net mother nature is sure not to be fucked with, that's for sure.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, uh in regards to the to our podcast, you know, I I have to say I'm quite proud of our listeners. We're hovering around the 50 you know listener mark for our third episode, right? And that's that's like really significant for people that a we're not marketing this anyway, and you know, this is just word to mouth and people legitimately wanting to come back for a third listen. I'm really proud of us, so I'm really thankful and grateful for those that are taking you know 30 minutes out of their week to listen to to us yokels. Indeed.

SPEAKER_00

So a big shout out to those followers for sure, guys. You guys, you know, for the most part, it keeps us humble as well, at least for me, right? To realize that, hey, you know what, I'm actually providing some sort of entertainment, I guess, if anything. And you know, like you and I have said before, I I really enjoy this, right? This is just a just two dudes, two friends just yakking and yeah, you know, people just jumping in to listen. So, like, sure, if it gets to like you know, 8,000, 10,000 million listeners, it's gonna be the same thing. We're not gonna change. I mean, I might get a I might get a stunt double if we start doing video and stuff, right? Yeah, yeah. Something with a proper dad bot and a little bit more hair on top, and yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Getting a massage therapist after our podcast, all that hard work. Yeah, exactly. Uh no, no, that's uh super fun and and I love it. And you know, I still love seeing all the countries, you know. It's so interesting that people from you know, Cambodia, Lithuania, uh the the it's really cool.

SPEAKER_00

It is very much so, very much so. I mean it it it like I said, it's it's humbling. It's sobering as well, but you're right. Yeah, when you start going through this statistics and see the cities and the countries, and yeah, it's really fun. Then you start thinking, Do I know somebody in Lithuania? Do I know somebody? You know, and yeah, yeah. So yeah, I'm I'm so happy, so pleased that people actually are having a great time listening to us. So big thank you to you guys.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and on the dad bod mode, if you have a life hack, folks, that we should be aware of that we can share during one of our podcasts, please let us know. Uh again, Robert, you're in charge of our email. I don't know what it is.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my goodness, yeah, it's 2d no p gmail.com.

SPEAKER_01

And I think it's in the footer of our podcast there.

SPEAKER_00

Absolutely, absolutely, guys.

SPEAKER_01

Seriously, you know, and even if it's not a dad bad thing, there's something you want to share, something like uh some protein, something, anything like I'm I'm open to life hacks for sure.

SPEAKER_00

Hells yeah, and you got anything to get rid of these eye bags and permanent laugh lines and stuff. I'm down, I'm down.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, exactly. Uh get my hair back or any kind of product.

SPEAKER_00

I think my hair thing is gone thing, so that that's not even worth the battle anymore. Hey Anthony, guess what time it is?

SPEAKER_01

Oh, the juice box thingy, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

It's down to hold my juice box.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, juice box, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So I'm gonna throw things a little differently this time. So this is kind of like a uh a spin-off of that what grinds my ears. So this family guy drives me nuts. So obviously, because of the deficiencies I have in my body and stuff, I have a handicapable sticker for my car, so I get you know privileged parking, air quotes on the privileged. So was it last week or the week before? Anyways, I'm pulling into the soccer facility here in Ottawa, and it shares it with a uh track and field. So all these parents are there picking up their kids as we're going in, you know, we're doing that transition turnover, and all the spots are taken. So there's like six handicapable spots that are taken, and none of the cars actually have a uh the placard up front. So I was like, okay, well, you know, I got out of my car and went and asked people, like, are you you know just here waiting? You know, what's going on? But like, you know, be two more minutes, two more minutes. And then this one guy actually flipped me off. He told me to go fuck myself, and I was like, dude, do you have a sticker or not? Fuck you. And I was like, you can't park here unless you have one.

SPEAKER_01

And he literally looked at me like I was stupid, and it it Yeah, yeah, he's the one that's uh that's that's stupid a hundred percent.

SPEAKER_00

And it's crazy. So I talked to a I'm not sure what they're I mean, they're bylaw, obviously, but like we used to call them meter maids and stuff because he used to give tickets, and you know, if your meter expired, but there was a guy at uh the Costco parking lot, and I watched him just walk around to the handicap spots checking to see if you know they had uh valid things. And I'm like, Do you find a lot? And he goes, You have no idea how many people illegally park in these places, even if it's for like, oh, I was only for five minutes or whatever. He says, It is astounding how many tickets he gives just on that premise alone. That's kind of sad. I know, right? Like it I I get I feel guilty if I take the last one, so I'll park, you know, kind of off the side and you know, waddle my ass down to where I need to go. But really, when I use my stickers in like winter time, right? So like black ice, that kind of stuff. So, but I got I keep thinking, like, what if somebody is like desperately really needs it, like has no option but to use that, and you know, these these individuals are like oh fuck them, I'm gonna be here for five minutes, kind of thing.

SPEAKER_01

So I don't know, it just it's gonna put like a banana in their tailpipe or something, or one of those, like put a little stink bomb in their car or something, you know, anything.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, man. Hell yeah. I think it's funny. I have these little, I guess they're like business cards that I had made, and it basically on one side that says, Congratulations, you park like an asshole. Yeah, and on the other side, so and I I usually just if I see it, I I just put it on the windshield kind of thing. Just I mean, it's it's very passive aggressive, I get it, but it's also like, dude, you're not the only security check for them. Yeah, we are part of society here. Absolutely, absolutely. We gotta remember that there are other people in the world, and we gotta be cognizant of you know what we're supposed to be doing and stuff. And I don't know, I just think, and I know a lot of people keep blaming it on COVID, but sure, COVID may have been a you know a factor to it, but covet has nothing to do with this. Yeah, I just I hear the excuse of oh, it's made us very self-centered, and you know, we don't care about other people because we were so alone, and I just think well, yeah, no, get over that, people, and park in the normal spot space. Get the fuck out of my parking spot, yeah. Don't don't fuck with my friend. Listen, man, I earned that sticker, yeah, exactly.

SPEAKER_01

Oh man, this is uh a pivot, but did you see Spider-Man?

SPEAKER_00

Oh bro, what an amazing movie, right? You you you you hyped it up for me. I went the very next day. You even hyped it up. You're like, I I asked you, like, do I need to go to Ultra ABX? Do I and you said absolutely. I went ultra ABX, it was phenomenal. So uh yeah, I mean uh every time I see these new movies, I'm like, this is the best one of all of them. This is the best one. I truly, truly, truly don't say any spoilers, no spoilers. I'm not saying any spoilers, but folks, if you have the chance, you you need and you need to see it in a theater because it just has that, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Don't don't wait for the for it to be streaming, go to the theater immediately.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, god, there's uh cheap Tuesday night still. So if you don't want to spend the hundred dollars a ticket that's gonna cost you, you know, it's well Tuesday, cheap Tuesdays and stuff, but yeah, yeah, yeah. I I I'll I'd go back and see it a second time because I'm sure there's a lot of stuff I missed, yeah. Um, but the humor, bang on Marvel's ability to interweave so much stuff, just yeah, and the acting, everything's leveled up.

SPEAKER_01

The they all take it so so seriously, and and like like thank so thankful they do. And oh yeah, uh, and real quick, like the visuals are just like yeah, 2026. We are so blessed to have the visuals, like, oh my god, it is nuts, it is nuts.

SPEAKER_00

It's funny because the day after I saw it, the uh the brand new day there in theaters, I watched the first uh done one with uh Toby McGuire, and I was like, Oh my god, how old is this movie? Was this like in the 1960s? Like, yeah, you know what I mean? Like it had that sort of you know, the Batman original series on TV, like the k-ow, and you know, and I was like, This is just so bad.

SPEAKER_01

I know, yeah. I know it's crazy just how fast the technology is is is is is just I don't know, like Spider-Man has never looked so good, Manhattan has never looked so good, and so real.

SPEAKER_00

That's what freaks me out.

SPEAKER_01

It just feels incredible, and it's quite good. Like just the way he's going around the city. There, it just you're right there with him, and it's anyway. I don't want to spoil the movie, and I don't want to risk spoiling the movie, but just go out and watch it. I uh I can't say enough good things about that movie.

SPEAKER_00

We start getting a whole bunch of hate mail because we ruin uh we we've sent out some spoilers, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Big spoiler. Oh my god. Fuck those guys. Yeah, yeah. We end up getting like 10,000 listeners, but Alta just bitch at us.

SPEAKER_00

That's the wrong kind of publicity we want. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Totally.

SPEAKER_00

I've also heard too, though, that uh, and and you gave a different sort of perspective on it, but I've heard like you know, my son said the Odyssey in a giant theater with like you know, all the bells and whistles, and especially like I can't remember what it's called, but a theater where basically it's like the sides, yeah, three sides of the theater kind of thing. He said it was just epically amazing.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it was a great movie, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And to the point that my wife, who honestly god love her, I mean, I'm like you, dude. I can go into a movie theater by myself, I'd watch a movie, I could stay there all friggin' day and watch movie after movie. It it's not like her cup of tea, but for her to say, Oh, I think I really want to go see the Odyssey. I'm like, shit, we're doing it this weekend. That's a three-hour movie, too. It was long. Hell yeah, I know, I know. So, yeah, so we'll see what it's like. So I'm I'm not looking forward to that as well.

SPEAKER_01

And oh, you haven't seen it yet, still haven't seen it. No, okay, yeah, yeah. I did see it. It uh it's a very good movie, yeah. Yeah, I give it a solid eight on ten, and I hope you enjoy it.

SPEAKER_00

Absolutely, yeah, yeah, it's gonna be great. But you're right, that's the world we live in now. Everything's getting better, visuals are getting better. I mean, Jesus, even this, you know, the podcast process. You know, I watched my wife with her two contributors to her podcast do this like crazy Zoom meeting, and then they gotta, you know, hand do it with audacity to take out all the ums, the ups, that kind of stuff. This thing here, man, Buzz Sprout is based on AI. Is you and I just show up, we click on a button, we talk, we click on a button, it's great, it's done. Yeah, it's it it's it's absolutely amazing.

SPEAKER_01

So and I I can't lie, I listen to our intro all the time. That song, I'm addicted to it. My kids sing it like it's uh it's just a staple now.

SPEAKER_00

That's awesome! That's awesome. Who knows? Maybe we'll win a Grammy.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah, exactly.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, lyrics by Rob Pixoto, everything else, AI.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god. No, no, don't tell people it's AI. We did it, right?

SPEAKER_00

No, I'm not I'm not cheating that stuff, man. That kind of stuff comes back to bites in the ass. That was we'll probably get some you know, fan mail saying, I looked it up, you lying sack. It's uh yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

No, it was uh Aaron singing in the back there.

SPEAKER_00

Love it.

SPEAKER_01

Two days, no plan. All right, well, Robert, as usual, always fun chatting with you, and I guess we'll see you in two weeks.

SPEAKER_00

Diddle man, cheers, bud.
