Do you eat spiders in your sleep? It's time for the Fam Podcast. Welcome to the Five Amazing Minutes Podcast. Or FAM for sure. It's a podcast for your whole family. We'll encourage you, equip you, and do it in about five minutes more or less. Today we're talking about the Bible, God's message to us. We can stand firm on God's Word. Now, that doesn't mean you need to actually stand on your copy of the Bible. It means that we know everything in the Bible is true and trustworthy. Listen to this. In Psalm 119, it says, The entirety of your word is truth. Each of your righteous judgments endures forever. Let's hear that again. The entirety of your word is truth. Each of your righteous judgments endures forever. The Bible is our source for truth. Imagine if you got a brand new board game. You open it up, tear the plastic off, open the lid, there's tons of pieces and cards, but no instructions. You'd be left on your own, and anyone could do anything. And it wouldn't be cheating because there's no rules. I'm thankful that we have the Bible to help show us the way God wants us to live. The Bible is our source for truth. Hey, let's play a game to see if you can spot truth from fiction. I'll play by giving you facts, and you can play by trying to guess which one is true and false. And feel free to pause and discuss with your family. Alright, are we ready? Let's begin. Round one. Bananas are berries and strawberries are not. Or the average person will eat eight spiders in their sleep. So which one's true? Bananas are berries, but strawberries are not? Or the average person will eat eight spiders in their sleep. The true fact is, bananas are technically berries. Great, I didn't want to have to tape over my mouth when I sleep. Okay, round two. Sugar makes children hyper. Or if you play music to a wheel of cheese, the tunes will affect its flavor. Sugar makes children hyper, or if you play music to cheese, it will affect its flavor. The true fact is, music changed the way cheese tasted. Okay, it's kind of hard to believe, but it was an experiment done where they played different kinds of music to cheese wheels, and scientists think that the sound vibrations were what caused bacteria in the cheese to react differently. Did I get you there? Okay, final round. The average cloud weighs over a million pounds. Or chameleons change color to match their surroundings. Do clouds weigh over a million pounds? Or do chameleons change color to match their surroundings? Okay, this was a tricky one, but the true fact is that clouds weigh millions of pounds. Now I know what you're saying. Chameleons do change color, but it's not to blend into their surroundings. They do that naturally. The ch color change is more to communicate and to show their mood. Alright, well, how did you do? Did you get all three right? Did you get all three wrong? Sometimes the things people believe just aren't true. And sometimes it's hard to believe things that are true. How are we to know? Well, it all starts with knowing that the Bible is truth. When we look at the world with the Bible in our hearts and minds, it can help us not get caught up in the lies of the world. Remember, we can always trust God's word, the Bible. All right, it's time for our joke of the day. If you have a funny joke or a deep theological question, or a funny theological question or a deep joke, share them with us. Parents, email them to kids at greenwillsprings.com. Okay, here's the joke. What kind of lights did Noah use on the Ark? Floodlights. Floodlights, Ark. Okay. And finally, here's a question to talk about with your family. What's it like when someone lies to you? Why do you think God wants us to always tell the truth? What's it like when someone lies to you? And why do you think God wants us to tell the truth? Talk about that with your crew, and we'll catch you on the next FAM podcast.
