Guess The Google Review  - In our seventh episode, Colin Regan welcomes Pagan & Stephen Daly to The Green Room! They chat about voiceover work, videogames and even try out some dramatic readings of popular memes all before jumping into a game of Guess the Google Review where we can see if our guests can figure out what place we’re talking about by a specific Google Review alone. Later on, we all have a vent about a certain thing that's been eating at us in our rant-based segment, There's Something in the Vents.

Introduction

SPEAKER_01

Hmm, and it makes noise. I don't know.

SPEAKER_04

Like I think the fact that it could be anywhere. My man's house. Many people come to go on from there, come. You could have said your man's house. You said my man's house? Self-burn.

SPEAKER_02

Hello, everybody. And if you can believe it, it's a Wednesday once again, which means it's time for another episode of the Green Room Podcast, brought to you here by the Tri-Channel. I'm your host, Colin Regan, and joining me today are two wonderful guests, Pagan and Stephen Daly.

SPEAKER_04

Hey, hello. Can't bring you anywhere, later. Like we hadn't even started. You're like knocking the mic over.

SPEAKER_00

I was trying to wave and then I smacked the mic, and I was like, oh, doing his intro and everything I'm saying.

SPEAKER_01

I am not used to having anything nice.

SPEAKER_04

Work under these conditions.

SPEAKER_01

I'm so sorry. Oh god. You know what? I'm sorry about it.

SPEAKER_02

Oh take you nowhere. It's okay. I'm so sorry. But guys, uh, how have you been? How are you? Other than Bumpy the microphone. How are you?

SPEAKER_01

Sorry. Yeah, good. Me and him have like a thing. We're beefing. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Just we're not mates anymore now. It's gone.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, me and Mike go way back. Yeah, I'm good. I'm good.

SPEAKER_02

How are you, Colin? I'm good. Well, thankfully, yeah. Episode seven of this little podcast. Oh my gosh, really finding your feet though, as well.

SPEAKER_04

Like, yeah. I mean, really getting into the swing of it. That's true.

SPEAKER_02

And uh obviously, for anyone who's watched the Troy channel, you were now seeing uh our feet. Well, our shoes. Yeah, yeah. We're wearing shoes, and you're not gonna see your feet.

SPEAKER_01

We have feet you have to pay extra for that. I have a lower half, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

There's a Patreon for our feet and other things.

SPEAKER_02

That's what every uh I don't know, adult thing, feet and other things. And other things. What are the other things? Fingernails, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Keep them guessed, keep them guessing.

SPEAKER_02

Well,

Pagan's New Job

SPEAKER_02

uh, guys, for our first segment, we we do a little thing here where we we do a little catch-up segment with our wonderful triers. And uh what we'd like to ask is what's news with you?

SPEAKER_01

What's news with you? There's that's gotta be a jingle there somewhere. So it's a jingle somewhere.

SPEAKER_02

I do think that someone commented that said there already is a podcast called What's News with You and apologies to that podcast. This was just a fun. This is the name of a segment, not the quick it is.

SPEAKER_04

I'm gonna say, no, we're not apologizing. And if they want to fight us, we'll be outside afterwards. Oh, we'll catch you out there. That's the double menu. Never relax.

SPEAKER_02

You're beefing with the microphone, you're beefing with everyone else. Everybody, yeah, yeah, yeah. With everyone else. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Exactly, exactly. Uh, but yes, uh just there was no there was no theft, it was just uh same, same parallel thought, and I just thought, hey, that's a fun name for a segment. What else do you call a catch-up segment, you know? Yeah, exactly. Um, but Pagan, what's news with you?

SPEAKER_01

Ah, well, I mean, there's just so much call it. I'm a full-time voice actor and audiobook narrator now, or actor and audiobook narrator, which is great. I got laid off in February, boo. But also on the up because dream job. Yeah, get to follow my dream.

SPEAKER_02

So to f do something that's creatively fulfilling. But also, I I do remember when you said, like, oh god, I'm getting laid off on my job. You were like, Oh, but I'm thinking of doing this. And I feel like other people would go, Oh yeah, I might do that, or I might get around to that. I feel like the next day we're like, right, so I'm doing this and doing this. I'm gonna make a voice booth in my house, I'm gonna do this. I was like, oh wow, she's really doing this. I was like, wow, it's like you had a such an admirable uh work ethic. Thanks for watching to your drive though, like it's great. So yeah, yeah, fair play.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's been it's been all go, and it's been like the busiest I've been, but also like I I used to do um acting and and voiceover and audiobooks on the side of my real job. So I never had time for like leisure. Yeah. Do you know what I mean? Like I never had like a weekend off really, or I had the evenings, and now I'm like doing this full time. I try and switch off in the evenings, and then I'm like, okay, cool, now I can play a video game or I could go for a walk or go for drinks with friends. It's wild.

SPEAKER_04

Skimming zones.

SPEAKER_02

Just pensively sitting there, real introspective.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, to be fair, I have ADHD, so I'm probably actually just sitting there with task paralysis, being like, and then it's bedtime.

SPEAKER_02

So yeah, so probably you thought of skimming stones and then went home.

Revenge Procrastination

SPEAKER_01

That's called revenge procrastination. And I I do that sometimes. However, I've been very good to try and look after myself after after the layoff and after doing everything full time. I'm trying now to be like, okay, this is me time. Like everything switches off after this time, and now I like read for leisure, or I'll watch something and then I'll try and go to bed early.

SPEAKER_04

So like the sleep hygiene.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I have to try and take care of myself because I did burn out like several years ago. I burnt out. So I'm trying very hard to keep myself not doing that. Fair enough.

SPEAKER_02

That's very responsible.

SPEAKER_01

Guys, thanks. I'm such an adult now.

SPEAKER_02

You are so good. I was gonna say, I I do that. Well, I don't have uh well, sorry, I haven't been to a doctor about what I have.

SPEAKER_04

Uh I if if um catch a twice coming back.

SPEAKER_02

I I wouldn't be surprised if a doctor, or sorry, I would be surprised if a doctor said I had nothing. Do you know what I mean? I'm sure I have something of some kind. Oh, yeah, of course. But um revenge procrastination is definitely something I've uh availed of. Yeah, where I'll just be like, oh, I I worked a little later today. It's like, oh well, I'm just gonna stay up and do this, and then you just uh mess yourself up the next day.

SPEAKER_04

And like what the British Bulldog is doing beforehand, like yeah, you don't even care.

Stephen's New Job

SPEAKER_02

Steven, what's news with you?

SPEAKER_04

There's loads of news. Well, I mean, like like pagan, you know, I do voice over work, I host my radio show every evening. WQnotq12. Get it on. Um as part of that, we do the love zone. So it's nice little way to chill out at the end of the day, but like that I never chill out. So while I'm pretending I'm very chilled out, it's absolutely just chaos all the time. So radio stuff, voiceover stuff, I'm a continuity announcer, like I do various different things, but something I've started doing it is kind of a leisure thing, but also it is kind of a gig. I recently joined the team at Over the Top Wrestling in Dublin, where I am a commentator. So I've been calling the action on a couple of shows, and uh do you know what? It was really like a bit of crack. It was something that I kind of found. Like I'd been a wrestling fan like when I was a kid or whatever else, and then like you know, you fall out of it and you've no idea about who the new people are. But I'd gone to a couple of shows, and I think you'd been to a couple of shows as well, Colin. We talked about it, yeah. Yes, we have.

SPEAKER_02

I I suppose maybe just for maybe international viewers. I mean, do you want to explain what overtop wrestling is?

SPEAKER_04

So basically, if you think like WWE, which is basically the version we have here in in Ireland, and like I mean, they had a couple of people come through and go on to like you know, wrestle in the States, like um was it Finn Baller? I think that guy's name was Seamus, I think had done some stuff with them. Yeah, so basically it's it's a pro-wrestling organization in Dublin, and they do shows like around the country and whatever else. But you know, it's uh they're a really fun bunch of people, and like that, it was something where I was like, you know what, I'm gonna give this a go because we're talking, we're chatter boxes, like so. What what what else can we do with this? Like, so yeah, so like I'm gonna be Jim Ross, you'll hear me be like, Oh no, oh my god, I'm gonna get broken in half. But it's been a really do you know what it's been a really fun thing to do. But again, you get to use your skills, but you know, maybe for something a little bit different. Yeah, yeah, that's kind of the the newest thing I've been at recently. Like, yes, yeah, nice.

SPEAKER_01

Nice. Oh my god, that sounds so cool. I love that.

SPEAKER_02

I I have been to a couple of shows, and yeah, it's insane. I think the first time I went, I went with Kiro Dharty, uh, friend of the pod, and this is name drop. She, your husband had basically gotten like a bunch of tickets and and we were like got a good group of us going. And then didn't l I did not know that she had basically gotten like second row tickets. Listen, and it was so close that literally wrestlers were getting like thrown over the ropes and landing in air. Like at one point, I became part of the show. Exactly. At one point, I had I had just gone back from the bar and I had four strawberry lime copperbergs, uh, premium Swedish cider. And uh I had brought them and I just like sat on my lap. And the moment I sat down, there was like one of the like, I guess, you know, whatever workers in hive is was immediately trying to shoo people out of the way because uh like a jump was about to happen, like out of the ring. And so I'm there with my four copper burgs, like and like I just basically get away right as a guy falls like into the seat beside me, and I was like, Oh my god, this was insane.

SPEAKER_04

It is though, it's fascinating to see, and like you know, when you've done a bit of acting or you know, you do kind of comedy or whatever it might be. For these guys, obviously it's a lot more physical, but there is kind of an element of playing this character, this role, and working out their moves and stuff as well. Like it's really intense to watch, like, and um that's the newest thing I've been doing recently. Amazing.

SPEAKER_02

Fair play.

Colin's Upcoming Gigs

SPEAKER_02

Well, God, what one is now something. I haven't done uh too much the past little while. Uh I suppose it is summer, and usually that's the time when I'd be going to music festivals because I'm a bit of a music festival hun. Uh, but I'm not going to uh yeah, you know me, you know me, Pegan.

SPEAKER_01

You know what? Yes. I actually think that should be on any like any of your emails.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Colin Reagan music festival.

SPEAKER_01

Music festival.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, you know, I like to get turned up, get down dirty. Uh but I think rocking. This is so good. Uh but the thing is, I'm not actually going to any music festivals this year, but I do have a lot of gigs coming up. I think by the time this goes up, I think a bunch of comedy gigs and music gigs that I'll have seen. I'm gonna see Metallica, gonna see Florence and the Machine. Amazing. Yeah, yeah. So I'm gonna do that. I saw Nikki Glazer, uh comedian, uh incredible, very, very funny. Uh a couple of weeks ago. Gonna see Josh Johnson. Okay. Uh another American comedian who's fantastic. Yes. Uh, he's very, very funny. So I'll I'll have I'll done all that by the time this is up. But in the past little while, I've not. What do you mean? We're not doing this live.

SPEAKER_04

Not uh uh here if something breaks down now. Like, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Uh cuts back, I'm just nose bleeding. Like um, but I've I've stuff coming up. Okay. But but yeah, keeping my head down for the last little bit. Okay, well that's fine. I got stuff on the go. I sometimes do need that. Me too. I'm too busy

The Gang Talks Videogames

SPEAKER_02

uh, you know, staying up till 3 a.m. playing games and then fucking myself up the next day. Do you know what I mean? Yeah, you know what? Yeah, yeah, fair, fair, fair.

SPEAKER_04

Uh you playing anything interesting at the moment.

SPEAKER_02

Just finished playing uh Death Stranding 2, which is a very good game, right? But uh I I feel like the story is like a bit above my pay grade. Like as in like I played the game, I enjoyed the story, I was like, yeah, but if right now you tell me what happened in that game, I'd be like, yep.

SPEAKER_01

No, I feel like we've had this conversation before where I have not picked up Death Stranding 2 because I rage quit Death Stranding 1. Because as wonderful as a walking simulator as I was, and I really enjoyed it, and I was having a great time. Except when you're getting trudged through the snow, and then you have to go over the mountain, and you get to the place, and they're like, hey, go back to that place you came from. And I was like, okay, it took me fucking forever to get here, but all right. And then you go back to the place you came from, and then that person is like, you know what? Take me back to the place you just came from that I sent you the first time. On the on the third trip back, I was like, nope, I'm out. No, no, no, no. I I I can't. I rage quit and then I've never gone back. I feel like it's traumatized me.

SPEAKER_02

There's a bit of backtracking in that game, and you yeah, going here or there, and then back to like, you know, go from A to B to C to D to B to C to A. Yeah. Yeah, it's a there's a bit of that. Now it gets easier the more like you can get like you know, bikes and trucks and stuff. Yeah, yeah. But like, yeah, we're going up a mountain. There's there's through the snow.

SPEAKER_01

You you couldn't use the equipment, like you had to build one of the the the zip lines. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

There's stuff like that in Death Stranding 2 where I basically just was like, okay, I'm going to bank like five missions up this mountain, and then I'm not going back then. I was like, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I would just like get instead of doing like one trip up, I'd be like, okay, I'm doing five trips in this one trip. Let's go.

SPEAKER_01

And I was like, yeah, it's uh maybe I should have come at it that way, like as like a yeah, yeah, yeah. If I approached it that way, maybe.

SPEAKER_04

But still, like when you just look at the top of the mountain, you're like, oh good, it's that tipping point, though, of like when a game stops being something you're doing for fun and actually feels like I've got so much shit to do here. That's the tipping point. Like, I had that with like I loved Skyrim, like I know that's going back, like you know. Well, no, it's been re-released like 10 times. I still will go back to, you know, every so often for a replay of, but that thing of like there's nearly too many missions I have on my tasks list here, and like that's I can't deal with that. I'm just gonna go fishing in Rifton instead.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, that's fair. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's fair. Uh, most recent thing I have but haven't played is uh the James Bond game, 007 First Light. Oh wow made by the developers who made the Hitman games. Right, okay. So it's like has a very like cool thing. People are also saying it's kind of similar to Uncharted and stuff like this, and that's um but the thing is I just haven't played it. Uh doing that classic thing I think most people uh are age do where you go, oh that looks great, buy it, and then it just sits there. I was gonna do this this segment uh towards the end, but considering that you've mentioned you've mentioned your your you know uh voice over work and golden voices and stuff like that. Uh I thought we could do uh uh some

Dramatic Reading - Intro

SPEAKER_02

dramatic readings.

SPEAKER_01

So I thought people are gonna realize now that I actually can't read it and that I'm a total fraud. Like in my booth, I will do the same line like six times, and I'm like, no, goddammit. Like I'll do the same thing.

SPEAKER_04

But then when you listen back, you're like, actually it was fine the first time.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, yes, yes, oh my god, all the time.

SPEAKER_02

We've done a few ad reads and stuff on the channel. But the thing is when we do that, we're like talking directly to camera. So I'm trying to memorize the lines. So I'll be like, this product has a da da da da da da da da, and then I'll literally be like, this product has a fuck it anyway. And then I have to like reset and smile again, and then be like, this product has it, you know. So if everyone saw that, you would you would see the but like at least you at least you would get the words there that you could be like you'd think that was easier, yeah. In theory, that sounds great.

SPEAKER_01

In theory, yeah, having the words in front of you, you'd think you'd be like, just read the script. You have no idea how many times I've done something, and I'm like, just read it, pagan, just read it.

SPEAKER_02

We're also trying to like emote and add inflection. It's not just like you're like, and so then the man walked into a yeah, and you're also gonna be like, and then the man walked in the room, and you're like, oh man, what's this? Oh, you know.

SPEAKER_01

You know how many times I've been like crying in the booth because of the crying scene, and I'll be like, fuck. I have to go back and do the other and I'm like, and then it plays the last three seconds, and I'll say the next thing, and I'm like, fuck it, and then I have to go back again. Like, like I've done that so many times, or if there's an external noise and I'm giving the best ever into the microphone, and I'm like sobbing my heart out, and I'm like, but you mean everything to me, and then a lawnmower goes, and I'm like, no, like it was perfect, it was so good. And I called my engineer, I'm like, can we do anything with this? Like, the hell you have to do that. Sorry, I called my engineer.

SPEAKER_04

Oh wow, hang on. Like, fucking hell, I'm a real engineer in my own shape. Like, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I like the idea of being like that. If that actually happened in like, you know, a real like argument or something, be like, I trusted you, I loved you. Sorry, one second, I can do that again. Yeah, let me give you a trusted you, I loved you. No, I had a real good, I had a real good point when I was done.

SPEAKER_04

Sorry, we just totally.

SPEAKER_00

We have totally need to reel it. Yeah, yeah. I'm so sorry.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah, we have segment here.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah. Uh yes,

Dramatic Reading - Stephen

SPEAKER_02

uh, I'm gonna give you each a reading and you can basically do uh uh uh sort of yes, your own your own spin and dramatic reading on that thing. So pass this to to Steven. Steven, go ahead. Steven, you can go first. Am I allowed to look at it? You're allowed to look at it, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I don't have to like just guess what's on there.

SPEAKER_04

You're like comedian who's like uh Johnny Carson or something. Yeah, yeah. Oh, okay. Right, I see what you say.

SPEAKER_02

So, yes, your best dramatic take.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_04

So let's see who's won. In fourth place is me. You won, Jane. Oh my god. Enjoy the money. I hope it makes you very happy. Dear Lord, what a sad little life, Jane. You ruined my night completely. So you could have the money. But now I hope you spend it on getting some lessons in grace and decorum, because you have all the grace of a reversing dump truck without any tires on. Well, you wouldn't, let's be honest. There's nobody in there, love. So, Jane, take your money, get off my property.

unknown

Oh wow.

SPEAKER_04

Come dine with me. Bravo at its finest. Yes, yeah, that was a tell us. That was the guy. That was a heavily memed scene from an episode of Come Dime. He was losing his mind because he didn't mean it.

SPEAKER_02

See, we're gonna we're yeah, basically, there's a guy just rags on this poor woman for winning the episode. He just wanted to win.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, and it was in his house as well. So he was like kicking everyone out. Like he'd had a girl flash.

SPEAKER_02

And it's just like, and I guess I guess whoever's just like filming it was like, well, I guess that's just going in the episode. Get out of here.

SPEAKER_01

Production would be like, This is good. Oh, this is so good. Yeah, yeah, that's great.

SPEAKER_02

Um, yes, well. Oh my god, congratulations. Well, that was that was excellent. That was that was very well done. Pass back, pass back. Kevin's not here. Kevin's on here. Kevin's not here. Um, um, well, uh

Dramatic Reading - Pagan

SPEAKER_02

with that, I'll give uh dude, I read all the time, and I'm telling you, I'm a fuck up.

SPEAKER_01

I'm so sorry if I do.

SPEAKER_02

Here is your reading.

SPEAKER_01

It's my reading, okay. Oh god, here we go. Oh no.

SPEAKER_02

Have you ever had a dream that that you um that you had your you you could you'll do uh you you want you you could do so you you'll do you'll you could you you want you want them to do you so much you could do anything That was so good I couldn't tell if you were falling over this I was like I was getting you had set that up and you were like oh I could fall on over this and I was like I actually can't tell you struggling to read this the point I didn't want that was so exciting that was a good night moon blooper of that kid that's like have you ever had a dream that you could you could you could you could you could tell you you could do anything like uh that was incredible, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Amazing, I loved that. That's great. Thank you so much. That was so much fun.

SPEAKER_02

Thanks, Colin. Yeah, thanks. Is it more well

Dramatic Reading - Colin

SPEAKER_02

I'm gonna do one? Oh how about this? Okay. So I pass that to Colin? Yeah, okay. I I think you might know you might know this when you hear this, but it's it's uh well, it's just it's just some dialogue from a very very popular film. I think you'll know it when you hear it. We're no strangers to love. You know the rules, and so do I. Full commitments, what I'm thinking of. You wouldn't get this from any other guy. I just wanna tell you how I'm feeling. I gotta make you understand that I'm never gonna give you up. I'm never gonna let you down. I'm never gonna run around and desert you. Never gonna make you cry. I'm never gonna say goodbye. I'm never gonna tell a lie and hurt you. Unseen. Thank you. Incredible. Wow. Come on for your jobs, guys. You just riprolled everybody. I was hoping just re rolled. I did. That was so funny. So riproll in 2026. You're welcome, internet.

SPEAKER_01

That's like a um, what's it sound? Body one and so me. Where's that on the fucking cards actually?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I know. Maybe next time.

SPEAKER_00

Next time, next time.

SPEAKER_02

Um, but that was what's news with us with a little bonus dramatic reading segment. Roll it in. It's such fun. Yes, we'll be right back after this. Welcome back, everybody, to

Guess the Google Review - Introduction

SPEAKER_02

part two of our wonderful little podcast. Yes, for the second segment of our podcast, we're gonna do a little game of guess the Google review. Uh what could that possibly be? What do you mean?

SPEAKER_04

It's like a catchphrase, say what you see. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So uh, I mean, uh you probably could have guessed what this is. I'm gonna give you a review of a place and you just have to take a guess and tell me where it's from.

SPEAKER_01

Is it limited to Ireland or is it everywhere?

SPEAKER_02

Uh everywhere.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

So I I narrowed it down. So it's from everywhere. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Actually, that really does help.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

So are you hoping then that people will give us a Google review as we Google review Google reviews? Is this like exhibit here? Is that what we're doing?

SPEAKER_02

Oh, now I'm getting a nose bleed. It's meta. Um it's like yo dodge. No, it's not meta. They're a different company. This is Google, Google is different together. Yeah, Google is different. Um, so our first one, and the uh excuse me.

SPEAKER_01

Sorry. Sorry, Sean. Could you die somewhere else?

SPEAKER_02

I can't remember these things.

SPEAKER_01

Could you could you choke on something somewhere else?

SPEAKER_02

Jesus Christ. I was just like, can you go choke on something somewhere else? Although, because sometimes you're like, hey, why don't you go choke on a bragging dicks? But like that's kind of like the PG version. Hey, why don't you go choke on something somewhere else? It was like trying to be mean but also clean it up at the same time. Maybe go choke on something somewhere else, all right? Pow. Okay, it's all right. Are you okay, Sean? All good. Okay. Um love you too. Well, our our first review that you have to guess, uh, and this one uh is in all caps. I

Google Review - Eyesore

SPEAKER_02

hate it. It's an eyesore, and I can't understand it. And it makes a horrid noises, and too many tourists shove into me. One star.

SPEAKER_01

And too many tourists shove into me.

SPEAKER_02

That's the best part.

SPEAKER_01

What is that? If it makes too many, it makes noise.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And it's an eyesore. I mean, like I'm thinking like London Eye or something.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I was thinking, because we used to have one in Dublin, but we don't have it anymore. So yeah, I was thinking it has to move, right? Yeah, yeah. Yeah, it has to be creaky.

SPEAKER_01

Again, London Eye is like you have limited amount of people in each one, so they're probably not gonna shove into them. Is that massive an eyesore? Is an eyesore? I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

It's a London eyesore. Oh that would be like a tabloid headline about the London Eye.

SPEAKER_04

The London ISOR. I feel like you need to get a band in Colin for when you do those.

SPEAKER_01

Do a little bit of good one, Colin.

SPEAKER_04

Do a little uh shred riff, like uh and it makes noise.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know.

SPEAKER_04

Like I think the fact that it could be anywhere.

SPEAKER_01

Literally anywhere in the world.

SPEAKER_04

Name a tourist attraction. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Um people coming to go on from there, come you could have said your man's house, but you said my ma's house?

SPEAKER_04

Self birds. Well birds.

SPEAKER_02

Well, yeah, look, uh no judgment. Uh whatever anyone does in the comfort of their own home. I think it's one thing will be in the show notes, and uh gets an uh an eyesore, it's a horrid noises, and too many tourists. Timesquare. Load the tourists.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but is it yeah, but that's that's technically not making noise on its own. It says too many noises, though.

SPEAKER_02

It makes a horrid noise.

SPEAKER_01

It makes a horrid noise. So I feel like probably not Times Square.

SPEAKER_04

Thunderland, which is like the worst park ever that we have here in Ireland.

SPEAKER_01

Probably the biggest tourist information. Yeah, yeah, tourist spot. The Chicago bean. It doesn't make any noise. Um, unless you flick it. I saw you go there, Colin!

SPEAKER_02

I saw you. I was like, do you wanna go there or do you wanna go? Oh, it's a myth. Or you know, I was like, which one do I want to go to?

SPEAKER_04

And then I was like, let me go. I can do it, I can do it. I honestly don't know, Colin. You're gonna have to tell us. Yeah, you're gonna have to go.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, well, you know, that you were close when you said the London Eye was Big Ben.

SPEAKER_01

Big Ben! You were so close. You were very close. That's not an eyesore. Well, they need to get their eyes out checked. It's beautiful.

SPEAKER_02

I will say I slightly uh edited uh the theory. No, because they gave the name in it. They said, I hate Massive Benjamin. It's an eyesore, and I can't understand the clock, and it makes horrid noises, and too many tourists shove into me.

SPEAKER_04

Massive Benjamin sounds like a name someone would give themselves on like uh 4chan.

SPEAKER_01

It sounds like he's about to drop the next album of like 2026.

SPEAKER_04

Massive Benjamin.

SPEAKER_02

Yo, bro, do you listen to Massive Benjamin?

SPEAKER_04

Oh, it's doing it. Snoop Dogg, Bad Bunny, and Massive Benjamin.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, sexy.

SPEAKER_02

This ends with, and too many tourists shove into me.

SPEAKER_01

Like it depends on where he's located.

SPEAKER_02

That's what I'm thinking. I was like, even if we're like on the street, I don't think people are like seeing big men being like, oh, like moving and filming and bumping and doing it.

SPEAKER_03

Let me see him.

SPEAKER_04

I was like, surely that's uh did Prince Andrew write that? Now he's not surrounded by like staff and just a normal person, so he has to deal with this hoy piloy on the street. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Are you close though? You said oh, it's anywhere in the world. How are we gonna get this? But like you were close. I'm so impressed by that. That's pretty fair. Thank you. Thank you so much. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Right down there for dancing. Yes, let's see how if you can guess this Google review. Bring it on.

Google Review - Super Hot and No Wi-Fi

SPEAKER_02

It was super hot, plus no Wi-Fi. I couldn't watch YouTube. Boring as hell. Do not recommend four stars.

SPEAKER_00

Super hot.

SPEAKER_04

Plus sorry, four stars, even though they do not recommend. That's very generous. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So four stars, do not recommend very hot, no wi-fi. That's a hole. I was actually gonna say, I was like, maybe it's the pyramids.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah, it could be the pyramids. It could be the pyramids.

SPEAKER_01

And there's no Wi-Fi.

SPEAKER_04

So and you could be at like the KFC across the road. That's later.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, yeah. There's no, there's no, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

That's where they buried the recipe of eleven herbs and spices. It was in the pyramids.

SPEAKER_01

That's where they got them, actually.

SPEAKER_02

You're you're locking up in pairs? Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

You're allowed to you're allowed to lock it in, or you can you can confirm we have that's like really hot.

SPEAKER_01

Well, it could be in America as well. It could be like Disneyland, Disney World, the Grand Canyon, great shout.

SPEAKER_04

Also, your mom's house? No joke.

SPEAKER_01

Also, my mom's house.

SPEAKER_04

That's both. I did the joke right though. That was very funny. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Boring as hell. Maybe, maybe Grand Canyon, actually. Yeah, you're right. Yeah, it's just I don't know how anybody is bored by the Grand Canyon, but okay, yeah, sure.

SPEAKER_04

The Guinness Storehouse is boring as hell, but I don't know if it's basically hard, actually.

SPEAKER_02

But I suppose, but at least at the end of that, you get a pint. You get a point, yeah. So you know you could do any tour, any tourist attraction. And if you said there's a pint at the end of it, you'd be like, Yep, sign me up. Sign me up.

SPEAKER_01

We'll do, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

You want to go with pyramids. You want to go with spiritual. Okay, I'll go, yeah. If you want, you can do separate answers.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, well, I could tell you that this is the Sahara Desert.

SPEAKER_01

You know what? Fair.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, there was quite a lot of reviews when I when I looked at those up. Of course, there's l there's a lot of um loads of sand, too much sand, a lot, a lot of Anakin reviewing uh the Sahara Desert. Yeah, what else do you think you think was going to happen? I was just like, it's like being like, oh, there's no indoor scene. It's just like, yeah, it's a desert. Now maybe people are memeing and having a bit of a laugh when they're doing these reviews, but also there was just a lot of like on the internet, I know it's all serious.

SPEAKER_01

We lost that one. But hey, not even close.

SPEAKER_02

I was gonna say, well, with Egypt and your pyramids, you were kind of thinking, sand, hot place, like yeah.

SPEAKER_04

I I went further away, but you know, it was still hot.

SPEAKER_00

I'm gonna I'm gonna shoot higher next time. Yeah, we have more.

SPEAKER_02

I think you were in the yes, yes. I'll shoot higher next time. There's three more.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, Earth. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, I'm gonna need you to narrow it down a little bit.

SPEAKER_00

No, fuck that.

SPEAKER_04

You said shoot higher. Planet Earth, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Next up is

Google Review - Dazzled, Now Disappointed

SPEAKER_02

disappointment. My third time here. The first two times we were dazzled, but the last time we were sadly disappointed.

SPEAKER_01

Is it my ma's house? No, go ahead. Sorry. I just thought it was very funny. Yeah, go on.

SPEAKER_02

First two times we were dazzled, but the last time we were sadly disappointed. Dirty. The smell was a mixture of garbage, urine, and marijuana. One star.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, this is Amsterdam. Or or California, where when they like when they introduced like when they made marijuana legal after not having it legal for a while. So maybe it's either California or Amsterdam for me.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I I think I was gonna think of Amsterdam as well, but like, you know, I don't want to study here.

SPEAKER_02

So you think the city of Amsterdam, you think the entire state of California?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, the entire state of California.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, you're like the state of California.

SPEAKER_01

The state of no well.

SPEAKER_02

He's naming cities, so I mean like you're the Los Angeles or something like that. Sorry, yes, that's actually what I meant. Yeah, yeah, LA.

SPEAKER_01

I went to LA, yeah, yeah, yeah. Is there anything in Amsterdam like like is it like the red light district or something? I said they were dazzled the first two times.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I mean, how dazzling is the red light district? Uh it depends who it depends on who you're asking. Yeah, it depends who's working that day. Depends how much free time you have. Could it be like Disney World or somewhere? Like, I don't know. Like, I you know, I'm just trying to think of somewhere that might have been dazzling once upon a time.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, because I just feel like, I mean, who's smoking marijuana at Disney World?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I met Goofy and he was high as balls. I mean, one star.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but I'm thinking like if it's marijuana, if it smells like marijuana, it's gotta be somewhere that is legalized, and I'm thinking Amsterdam or California.

SPEAKER_04

I mean, have you walked down the street in Dober?

SPEAKER_01

Fair.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, so good point. It could be Dober. The city has a bouquet of aromas.

SPEAKER_03

Depends on where you are.

SPEAKER_01

Depends on where you are. Dizzily dazzled the first two times and then disappointed the second time. Dizzly dazzled. Dizzly dazzled.

SPEAKER_04

Dizzly dazzled. You sound like you're in like, you know, one of those like 40s, 50s movies, like really, I do really I'm dizzily dazzled.

SPEAKER_01

Golly!

SPEAKER_02

That's causing me such a vexation. I'm coming down with the vapors.

SPEAKER_01

The vapors.

SPEAKER_02

Sorry, you can't follow a friend. Sorry, you're gonna need an answer to reach on.

SPEAKER_01

They were disappointed after the third time. I do love Amsterdam. Like, I've been there once and I have thought about it again. I'm like, oh god, I'd love to go again. Yeah, it's lovely. Really nice. So maybe they're just poor tasting people, like they just don't like crack.

SPEAKER_02

Both types. Both types of crack, yeah. Both types of crack. I'm gonna go with Amsterdam. Okay. Guys, I can tell you this review is about Times Square.

unknown

Fuck!

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, you said that you said that for the other one.

SPEAKER_04

Yes, you were right. Yeah, it's a year since I've been to Times Square. I don't know. It's actually the same, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I haven't been to New York in a very long time.

SPEAKER_02

Well, I was in New York at the start of this year.

SPEAKER_01

Were you dizzy dazzled?

SPEAKER_02

Were you dazzled? I wasn't well, I was it was the second time I've been there. So maybe the third time I go, I might be a bit disappointed, but I was I went to Times Square both times. And I was dazzled. I was like, wow, look at this.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Uh but I didn't I didn't have a smell uh smell of a mixture of garbage, urine, and marijuana.

SPEAKER_01

Lads, I I I can't fathom somebody actually reviewing Times.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, like plenty of time.

SPEAKER_01

Do you know what I mean? Sitting down at the computer being like, Do you know what? It was a shit little time. I'm gonna fucking review that today, blah blah blah.

SPEAKER_02

Maybe like certain things is like, oh, if you went to a hotel, you got bad service, or something that you're like, I need to restore and let other people. Yeah, exactly. I need to let other people know of my experience here. Maybe it might help someone if they're planning or budgeting or something or whatever. But when you're just like, yeah, it's just the place in the city with all the lights and screens.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, it was on rainforests.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Too many bird sounds, yeah, like snakes, too many trees. Yeah, yeah, yeah. For people who live in

Colin's Times Square Story

SPEAKER_02

New York, they're probably just like avoid Times Square. Oh god, it's like full of tourists, and you know, all these things, whatever. Um, obviously, as a tourist, you're like, Oh wow, Times Square. Yeah. When we were there in January, there was one point where we're walking by a souvenir shop, and right out of the souvenir shop walks a guy in a Spider-Man costume because there's always those people in costumes trying to get like photos or take a photo. He walks like right across from us, and then right behind him is another guy following him. And I didn't get a good read on this guy, right? But we we walk past and these guys walk behind us, and all I hear behind behind us is this guy just go, uh, he's sorry, I need to get this right because it was so insane. He said, I am the Hulk, you will obey me, I will kill you. And then me and Kay were just holding hands, and I just kept walking straight away. And I was just like, that was like a Grand Theft Auto NPC in real life. I was just like, that was the most unhinged shit. And literally, no one batted an island. Everyone's just like walking through and just been like, Yeah, that's New York. Welcome to New York. That was like I said, like Grand Theft Auto NPCs. It's like, oh, that's not satire, that's not that's actually like real life. I was just like, that's crazy.

SPEAKER_01

Strange. I I've seen Julia Roberts in New York, that was cool. She was doing a play, and then she like walked out in front of us and then got on the car, and I was like, Oh, wow, she's a real human. And uh yeah, and then I was like, Wow, the illusion is shattered.

SPEAKER_04

It is the concept. There's nothing you can't do. There's nothing you can't do, except go to Times Squares and enjoy it, obviously. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

No, I did have a last second.

SPEAKER_01

And now you have that memory. Yeah, so you really added to the experience.

SPEAKER_02

I'll never forget that guy who was longer later. Yeah, I don't know. Was this guy drunk? Was he on something? Whatever, but yeah, you just saw another Marvel person and then just went, Oh, yeah, the hawk.

SPEAKER_01

I was like, Yes, but that is the secret, he's angry all the time.

SPEAKER_02

That is true. Maybe that's true. You know what? He was right, I didn't like him when he was angry. But ultimately, I I you know I enjoyed my time in New York. You know, I I love New York. Actually, you know what? I might like start making t-shirts. I think you know what's a good idea. You know what? Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And actually, instead of being like love, put put the heart there. Yes. Yes, and then maybe even like without the new in York, because that can be a good idea. Just abbreviated. Just kind of like NY NY. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Just I heart N Yo.

SPEAKER_02

Something here. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. I should actually cut this out of the podcast and then make sure I do it so that no one steals my idea. I give that a go.

SPEAKER_01

No, but by the time this is aired, you've already done it. Yes, and you're making bank. Amazing. Love that. Love that for you. Thanks, guys.

SPEAKER_02

Our next review, let's see if you can guess it.

SPEAKER_03

It's all right.

SPEAKER_02

No, no, no.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I'm disappointed in me.

SPEAKER_02

You know, this was our third review here. The first two times I was dazzled, but last time I was sadly disappointed. Hit us, come on, we can do it. We can do it. Yeah, we can do it. Let's see if you can get this Google review. I

Google Review - Hiking Mishap

SPEAKER_02

was hiking down a trail and a seagull swooped down and unbuckled my belt. Then somehow, out of the middle of nowhere, a monkey, yes, a monkey, came out of the middle of nowhere and pulled my pants down. Nothing quite like unwillingly being in your boxers in the middle of a dry hole, right? One star.

SPEAKER_00

This person was absolutely caught doing something bad. And then this was their experience. This was their experience.

SPEAKER_02

This sounds like an alibi. This is an alibi. I wrote that, I wrote that Google review, so I want to talk to the monkey.

SPEAKER_00

I want to talk to the monkey and I want to verify the story.

SPEAKER_02

The monkey's gonna rock up on like Judy or whatever. The monkey has a Talal documentary.

SPEAKER_01

He's releasing a biography on the page. Oh my god. Okay, so they're hiking down somewhere and he was caught doing something dangerous. I don't know what he's doing with a monkey. And a seagull who came down and unbuckled his pants. Now I have heard seagulls. Listen, seagulls are intense and they are so intelligent. But unbuckling of pants, I question the legitimacy of this review.

SPEAKER_04

Just to to go to the end, was he in a dry hole? Is that what you said?

SPEAKER_02

The last sentence says, nothing quite like unwillingly being in your box, or is it the middle of a dry hole, right?

SPEAKER_01

In the middle of a dry hole. So you're right, you're right. He is like it's like an addition. Is that no? But it can't be canyon because there's no monkeys or seagulls.

SPEAKER_04

You can go with that. Like it's just Friday night.

SPEAKER_01

It's Brighton, isn't it?

SPEAKER_02

That's totally right on. Well, Brighton Beach Seagull that's pulling my pants down.

SPEAKER_01

And monkeys at Brighton Beach. Where do you have monkeys and and Gibraltar?

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. I don't know. Monkey Seagull. Monkey Doogle. Oh, sorry.

SPEAKER_03

Sorry.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. We're gonna get it, Stephen. Yeah, we are gonna get it. We're gonna get it. Yeah, can we get country?

SPEAKER_02

Country is America, this is. Oh, yes, this is this is Florida. This is an American.

SPEAKER_01

It's always gonna happen in Florida. Let's agree.

SPEAKER_04

Let's be fair.

SPEAKER_01

Do they have monkeys in the world?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I wasn't sure about the monkey part then.

SPEAKER_01

Like maybe it's a pet monkey that somebody has. People in America have everything as pets.

SPEAKER_04

Michael Jackson's monkey is still alive, isn't he? Bubbles is still out there somewhere.

SPEAKER_01

Interesting. He's pretty baffled by the way as well.

SPEAKER_04

Michael Jackson just never came back.

SPEAKER_01

Oh god, that's awful.

SPEAKER_04

Stop monkeying your way off, this guy's bananas.

SPEAKER_01

Driving me apeshit up here. Look at us go.

SPEAKER_03

Boom, listen. Yeah, forget the game.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, we just do words as it's not.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, no bumper. Let's lock in. Let's go. I'm really offending some Florida on the other.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, there's so many Florida man headlines that I think that's not a joke. Regardless of the review, I think what you're saying is easy dots to connect there.

SPEAKER_01

Let's go with Florida. Somewhere in Florida.

SPEAKER_02

The state of Florida or somewhere in Florida. Somewhere in Florida.

SPEAKER_04

You name a place like what I mean.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah. Throw the stone. All right, well, guys, I can tell you that this is the Grand Canyon.

SPEAKER_04

Why the fuck, monkeys are in the Grand Canyon? Seagulls in the Grand Canyon?

SPEAKER_02

I don't know. That's that's what this reveal is. Unless this is someone memeing and like you said, it's an alibi for something that happened in the Grand Canyon.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it did say a Grand Hole, like a dry hole.

SPEAKER_04

I'm annoyed by that.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Same, same, same. I stand by the fact that he's probably still from Florida.

SPEAKER_02

He's on vacation. He's like, I want to get the Grand Canyon pregnant or whatever. Well, maybe we come to our final review.

SPEAKER_01

Please, we can do this. Let's see.

SPEAKER_04

I'm kind of glad to be honest.

SPEAKER_02

We can do this. Let's see if you can guess this Google review. Big

Google Review - Scrap Metal

SPEAKER_02

hunk of scrap metal. Why didn't they build a spaceship with it? One star. The spire.

SPEAKER_01

That's like great. Yeah. Fucking great one. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Iconic monument in Dublin City Center. There's just a giant stick, metal stick in the room. Stiffy by the liffy. Yes.

SPEAKER_01

Stiffy by the liffy. Oh, I think the spire is a good share. I think the spire is a good one. Would Colin do that too. I don't think so.

SPEAKER_04

And also Colin's got a great poker thing, so he gives him nothing away. Unreal. He just kind of rises. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Can we get a closer poker? I don't say a damn thing or allude to a damn thing.

SPEAKER_01

Crazy.

SPEAKER_02

I ain't telling you nothing. Yeah, don't go sucking a lemon.

SPEAKER_01

Don't do it. Why don't they just build a spaceship out of it?

SPEAKER_02

Oh man, that's so metal.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I can't really think other other than like the Eiffel Tower.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, or like I can see other ones, but I couldn't name them. Like I know in Brussels they have those balls. They're like atom things almost.

SPEAKER_02

Those are called sprouts. Brussels.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah. Oh my god, I've been calling the balls for years.

SPEAKER_01

I'm thinking Eiffel Tower, Statue of Liberty, or the Spire.

SPEAKER_04

What about sorry, what's the one in Chicago? The Chicago Bean. Right.

SPEAKER_01

But it's like a big, like it's it's a bean. I was gonna say it's like a round thing. Men don't know it's there until you until you show them.

SPEAKER_02

I've heard people talk about it, but I've never seen it. I don't know what you're talking about. I don't believe it exists. And when I google it, no photo, no pictures of it come up as well. No, there wouldn't be.

SPEAKER_01

So it's gotta be the Dove Inspire or the Empire or the Eiffel Tower.

SPEAKER_04

Do you know what? I think we should go Eiffel Tower. You're locking in Eiffel Tower. We get a buzzer for next time, like alright.

SPEAKER_02

It's your final answer. Yeah, we can.

SPEAKER_01

I won't confetti if this is right.

SPEAKER_02

You said Eiffel Tower. It's your final answer, guys. It's the Eiffel Tower!

SPEAKER_03

Yes!

SPEAKER_02

Fucking brilliant.

SPEAKER_04

Nailed it. There we go.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. See, I knew it had to be good.

SPEAKER_02

It had to be great. We have redemption, guys. Oh man, that was incredible.

SPEAKER_01

They had a sniper thought.

SPEAKER_02

Not gonna lie.

SPEAKER_00

Not gonna lie. They had a sniper thumb.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my god, amazing. Funny looking up for obviously all the all these different reviews. There's obviously just a lot of people being like, oh, it's too crowded. There was one I saw that was like uh too many French people. Well, you know, and I was like, well, yeah, French people in France. Ridiculous. No, I did look up reviews for the Spire, but a lot of them were just like, it's just a stick in the ground. Like they were they were immediate, they were too immediate. So uh what's funny that it's just like as soon as I said that, you're like the Spire. I was like, Well, it's like you you named a lot of the things I did look at. We're on the same wavelength. When it came to the actual guessing of the specific ones, you know, there was some great redemption there and the Eiffel Tower. Well done, guys. Well done.

SPEAKER_01

Well great.

SPEAKER_04

Colin's praise means everything to me. Like, yeah, just fighting for that all show. Same.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. I fight for it for like the last three years on the show. Absolutely.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I very rarely just give any kind of praise or compliments of any kind.

SPEAKER_04

I absolutely hate it. Like after I'd started doing like tri-video stuff, I DM'd Colin one time about something we've been talking about. He

DM Stories

SPEAKER_04

still hasn't read it. Still hasn't read it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but Colin doesn't read his messages.

SPEAKER_04

I'm not good at reading.

SPEAKER_02

Colin isn't on socially. No, I'm not sure. I'm generally bad at reading my messages.

SPEAKER_01

I'm actually the same recently. Like I feel like with the increase of DMs and stuff, they just end up in like a requests folder. And I don't ever check them. Like I rarely get it.

SPEAKER_02

No, no, the thing is I'm not popular, which is why I don't check my messages.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah. I don't actually think there's anything in there. I just I never I never assume people are messaging me.

SPEAKER_02

So someone did uh DM me once because on on the Tri-Channel years ago, we did um an ad for like one of those like meal subscription services. Yeah, yeah. All right, and someone had DM'd me like, oh hey Colin, uh just I did uh I want to sign up for this thing. I'm just wondering, did did you guys do an ad? Like, I wonder what the the code is. Just very harmless question, right? But because I don't check my DMs, I didn't see that message. By the time I checked, it had been three weeks had passed, and they had sent me a follow-up message that had just said, Well, cool, I'll guess I'll go fuck myself then.

SPEAKER_03

I was just like, all right.

SPEAKER_02

Like, sorry, I just don't check my messages.

SPEAKER_01

People are like it on the internet.

SPEAKER_02

It was safe to say I did not respond uh to that. So if that was you, uh apologies. But um, you know what? A general PSA, if you're gonna DM anyone, maybe just be nice. And even if they don't get back to your message, maybe still be nice in the follow-up. Maybe just be nice at all times, ever, maybe uh if you're talking to anyone online, stranger or otherwise, you know.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, including in the comment sections.

SPEAKER_04

Yes, it's a beautiful day in the neighborhood. That was a very wholesome message.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah. And if you aren't nice, then go fuck yourself.

SPEAKER_01

I agree. I uh support this message.

SPEAKER_02

And uh, with all that said, we'll be right back after this. And welcome back to the final part of the show. It's been a good show so far,

Something in the Vents Introduction

SPEAKER_02

right, guys. I mean, yeah, I think so. Yeah, yeah, I think. Tell me we're good. Tell me we're good. Tell me, tell me I'm good. Tell me I'm good. Both just all feeding each other's anxieties. This is graceful.

SPEAKER_01

As an actor, I feel like price is uh essential. Like please tell me how good this is. And as an Irish person, as an Irish person, just need to be able to do it.

SPEAKER_02

Just need you to tell me, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah. If you could just like this video, please, and just maybe leave a comment to be like, yeah, it was.

SPEAKER_04

You could like me.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Just like me. Yeah, yeah. Do you really, really like me? Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Joking aside though, when I was coming in, I saw I was with Pagan. I was like, oh, that's gonna be great because everyone was pagan. It's an easy fucking easy video to be in.

SPEAKER_02

And don't don't stare sort of. You're making you're both great. You both make this an easy episode to host.

SPEAKER_01

Colin, you were just so thank you.

SPEAKER_02

So, guys, for the final side of the show, what you'd like to do is Sean, why don't you play that jingle? Play that jingle for the final segment. Oh, you know that sounding, guys. I do that's right. It's time for there's something in the vents.

SPEAKER_01

Ooh, that's kind of that that reminds me of Aliens. So when you said that the first time and I heard, I was like, oh shit.

SPEAKER_02

It's coming out of the walls, coming out of the goddamn walls. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But yes, this is something in the vents. This is basically just a little spot for us to have a little vent, a little rant about something. Something that's just getting our goat, something that's getting us a little, a little peeved off. Yeah, and we want to blow off some steam. So we did this a few episodes ago with Laura

The Voice Note Defense

SPEAKER_02

and Callie Ann, and we had vents. About uh slow walkers and uh voice notes. Um and yes, on Instagram uh Pagan commented on on it and said that uh by the voice note event she felt a bit called out by it. But do you want to defend voice notes or or do you want to make a case for voice notes?

SPEAKER_01

No, I'm not defending voice notes, but I am the voice noter. I am like the like myself and my friend voice note, and she's in California, so we do it like on a day's delay. So she'll send me something and I'll like respond two days later, and that's great crack. But both of us are kind of the same, and I'd be like, Oh yeah, so uh I was meant to talk to you about that thing. Sorry, I'm just letting the cat out. Do you want to go outside? Do you want to do you no, you don't want to go outside. You want some food instead? Okay, uh anyway, I'm I'm just gonna put you over here because I'm just feeding the cat. I am it's like 20 minutes.

SPEAKER_02

Well, I mean I'm so sorry, but also not sorry. You're recording like a little mini podcast.

SPEAKER_01

You know, honestly, at the end, I do thank her for listening to the pagan podcast. And I and I like at the end of the day.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I'll I'll admit that does sound nice. I think that my my my uh complaint or vent was was more like when you asked like a direct question. So just get to the point. Yeah, that's all but this where it's like, oh, I'm having a catch-up, that's a little bit different than my. You know, that's a bit different than like if you just asked a question and then you sent uh me like a five-minute voice now, I'd be like, I don't know. That that's maybe my issue per per se.

SPEAKER_01

No, I don't, I never voiced no college. No, no, no.

SPEAKER_02

As I said, as I said, we're agonizingly slow. No, no, don't DM him. No DM, no voices. As I said, I'm a hermit, I stay indoors.

SPEAKER_01

Say the carrier pigeon.

SPEAKER_02

I haven't done anything in a while. Just leave me alone. Uh yes, this is this is just a little spot for us to have a rant rant about anything, it could be big or small. It could it doesn't have to be.

SPEAKER_01

I was gonna say, I'm a happy person, like generally, but also I have so many things. When you asked me this, I was like, and then this, and then this, and then this.

SPEAKER_04

I don't know. My my wife um would

People Relishing Misery

SPEAKER_04

say that me and one of my really good friends are like those two guys in the muppets, you know, the two because literally we are just we just spend our days complaining about everything.

SPEAKER_02

It's a very inherent Irish thing, isn't it? Yeah, that's what I mean. Like I feel like I try trying not to because it's been negative forever. I mean, or like the one thing I noticed is like when people say like there's nothing worse than blank, and they'll just be like, Oh man, tell you, oh, there's nothing worse than when you want to have a barbecue and then it just starts raining, and you're just like, Why are you just bringing up negative things? Yeah, why are we all talking about it? You'll be having a lovely time, and then someone will be like, Jesus, Taylor's nothing worse than when and you're like, We're what we're all just sitting having a point. Why are we bringing up things shit things? Yeah, I know I say this when we're on a podcast, but like the point of the segment, not when you're out well having a point. No, I'm confused. This is a safe space to have a I'm talking about when people bring up negative things when you're in a positive, right? Yeah, positive. You're like, we're all talking about like your birthday. Why are you bringing up like shit things? Uh yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Some people do love the misery obviously. That's what I mean.

SPEAKER_02

Some people like people do love the relish in like yeah, every bit of it's gonna be misery too. Yes, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

It's very um Irish media, and then you got cancer, didn't you? Yeah, and then what happened? You lost your house and your dog died. Yeah, it's like yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Because the grannies at home are like, geez, that's not desperate. And do you know why? It's because they want to see someone's more miserable than they are.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, you know, people's like, like, oh it's well well for some, isn't it? It's like I want you to be doing well, but not too well. Yeah, I want you to be doing pretty less less well than I am, actually. Yeah, yeah. But uh pagan, what's in your event today? Oh my gosh, so

Pagan's Vent: Onions

SPEAKER_02

many things.

SPEAKER_01

Um no, I I was going to say onions are so overrated, and they're in fucking everything, right? Listen, I'm intolerant. I'm intolerant to they make you cry when you prep them. Listen, I'm intolerant to onions, okay? And all I'm saying is when you're listing things on a menu and you're like, here are the intolerances at the bottom. Could you just add onions to the mix? Okay, maybe, maybe I'm in the minor minority. Maybe there's only like dozens of us, but I don't care, okay? There are people out there like me, and I just I get so ticked off because I have to ask every time I go somewhere. Is there onions in this thing? Yeah. Do you know how annoying that is and how annoying I sound to people? Eventually I've just stopped asking, and then I'm like, suffer.

SPEAKER_02

It's not like a you know, even like say like a burger where it's like, oh, there's three pickles on this, I could take this off. With onions, it's gonna be like right, there's like 50 slices of onions. It's a little square pieces of onion. It would be quite, yeah, it'd be quite awkward to be picking through and all that.

SPEAKER_01

I just I just don't agree that like everything's tastier with onion. Maybe it isn't. Try it without. How do you know? Live a little, make don't put onion in your mouth. Onions, okay. Cheese.

SPEAKER_02

I do. I mean, when I am cooking, I do put I often put onions. But see, because I don't know. I don't have your problems. That's what I mean. Yeah, yeah. So that's fine.

SPEAKER_01

But I am. So if I came over to your house, would you and knowing that I'm intolerant to onions, would you put onions in the stuff? No, I wouldn't. Exactly.

SPEAKER_02

There's a definitely a chance I could forget. And I'd be like, and I'd be like, oh and then I I also like you know, I slice them and dice them, so it wouldn't be like a hundred pieces of like I'd be like, oh, it's a bams moment where you're like, yeah, I'm gonna sneak out and get this and pretend I couldn't.

SPEAKER_04

I would yeah, yeah. I would eat it.

SPEAKER_01

I would be like, this is such a good dinner. Thank you so much for cooking it, Colin. It just really grinds my gears because I'm like, there's no it I have to ask every time, or I just suffer silently and be like the only other like um gripe that I had was um

Pagan's Vent: Pockets

SPEAKER_01

pockets, fucking pockets on women's clothing. Can we can we put more pockets on women's clothing, please? Yeah, this is a thing where a blazer today's no fucking pockets on it, and it has fake pockets.

SPEAKER_02

What's that about? Yeah, is it just because they think they they think that you know women are gonna be carrying a bag or like a purser or things like that?

SPEAKER_04

Because you shouldn't have possessions. Is that what I'm thinking about? Oh you know what that's what it's like.

SPEAKER_02

Maybe it's a deep-rooted societal sexist misogynistic thing. It actually is.

SPEAKER_01

I love the day when I put on a dress that has pockets and I don't go, Oh, pockets! Yeah, because it's such a surprise that there's pockets in a dress.

SPEAKER_02

And then of course it's like, oh nice dress, and you go, Oh, it has pockets pockets. Yeah, pockets, yeah, you have to tell everybody.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know. I think it's the aesthetic or something, and then when we do have pockets, they're they're stupidly small.

SPEAKER_02

Like your phone sticking out of it or whatever, like because it's not a deep enough pocket.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, the iPod Nano fits in there. Great. Thank you so much for that, Steve Jobs. Like, I like what are we gonna do with that?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah, that's it. My creative vents.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, those are like my two things that will like really grind my gears. Just list onions as an ingredient, and there should be more pockets in women's clothing.

SPEAKER_02

These are both worthy events. Thank you. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Thank you.

SPEAKER_01

I thank you. I appreciate being a good idea.

SPEAKER_02

They speak about something to you and also to society at large. Well, Steven, what's in your event today?

SPEAKER_04

I don't know how much time you have, but like we could go on for ages now. But a big thing I think is between

Stephen's Vent: The Pharmacy

SPEAKER_04

doctors and pharmacies. They want you to like phone ahead to make an appointment or whatever else, or they want you to phone in your prescription and like you know, can you order over the phone rather than just rock it in? Yeah, and then like you get there at the allotted time, or they'll say, Come and pick it up at four o'clock. Okay. Or you spend two hours waiting for it. Oh my god, yes. Why the fuck are we doing this? Like, why are we doing this performative nonsense of like oh yeah, your appointments at four o'clock? Okay, cool. So I'll come at like five to four, and then I will wait for two hours.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. Just tell me to come at six.

SPEAKER_04

Do you know what I mean? What the fuck are we doing here?

SPEAKER_01

Dude, I fucking feel you.

SPEAKER_04

Not only do you have to go past the Cerberus gates of hell guarding woman on reception who fucking just returned to the city. I'm gonna rant about that in a second as well, thinking about the fucking name, right? But like this fucking like middle-aged Irish woman who doesn't want to be there and she's still forced to work for some reason. And she's like so unable. She's like, Yeah, could fit you in like next Tuesday. It's like fine, I'll just deal with my arm for all until late.

SPEAKER_01

Which is awful because I feel like the people who are watching are probably American and they have to wait six months for another. My friend was having an asthma attack and she had to wait six months. And I was like, I'm not sure. It's all relative to where we land for different and where it's a few years.

SPEAKER_02

This is a valid complaint, but it's completely valid here. Yeah, we're gonna do it.

SPEAKER_04

Come in on Tuesday at four, and then you come in on Tuesday at four, and then like Wednesday evening at eight o'clock, you still sit in there. No, why don't you do the fucking boy?

SPEAKER_01

I fucking agree. I had to go for an appointment and they had to do like something where I needed to provide a urine sample, okay? So they're like, come with a full bladder. And I was like, We'll do. Rocks up at four o'clock. And I was like, How much fucking longer am I gonna sit here? I was there for like 45 minutes, fucking person. And then and then after you pee and you give the sample and everything, they're like that. They're like, Oh, you could have just told us that you needed to pee earlier, and we would have given you the and I was like, sorry, sorry, that wasn't public information. I thought my appointment was at four, not five.

SPEAKER_04

Had you walked up and said, sorry, I really need to go, they would have been angry at you for like coming up to them like and daring to speak to them outside of your moments. What am I supposed to do? What do you want me to do? That's a grinding of my gears, but just on the name thing, right? Because I know I came up at the start of it, you know, pagan and like it's not just Madonna Pagan. So in my doctor's surgery, and like Ireland isn't a big place, right? In my doctor's surgery, there are three Stephen Daggins, and every fucking time I go in, I give my address, I give my date of birth, and I still pull out the wrong fucking file. And it's just like I can't understand, right?

SPEAKER_01

Sometimes you just need to vent, okay? Yeah, sometimes you just need to have space.

SPEAKER_02

My vent is uh is maybe a little uh nicher uh than that some of yours, but it's still something that it just uh grinds my gears. And it's it's

Colin's Vent: "Euros"

SPEAKER_02

people who say Euros instead of euro. Instead of euro. So yes, the euro currency is the the plural of euro is euro. Yes. And when you then you when you say like cent, the plural of cent is cent. It's not like dollars. We say two dollars and 43 cents, you'd say two euro and 43 cents. Yeah, and just what it is. That's just what it is. Now I understand people maybe casually say, like, oh, two euros, ten euros, yeah, 20 euros. Yeah, my main issue is when you hear people on the news say it, yeah. And I'm like, but you're the news, yeah. You're you should know when it's like, and that was an estimated price of two million euros, and I'm like, you're the you're the news. They should bring you're the one who should be getting this right. You should know. Like, fair enough if the writers like get them out. Fair enough if someone on the street is like, Oh, that was geez, see that story? Geez, they robbed a bank, two million euros. Jeez, that'd be nice, wouldn't it? But when it's on the new, like I'm like, you're the news, or like a financial person economist or whatever. I'm like, Euros, I'm like, why lads?

SPEAKER_04

What do you obviously come across like a fucking pedant as well? Because it happens to me regular times a week, you get a voiceover script through when it'll be like, you know, 99 euros. And I'm like, I'll send it back and I'll say, I'm just gonna say euro, and like yeah, yeah. They're obviously like, what the fuck's the story of this guy? But I'm just gonna say Colin's the same and yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I mean, it's the correct, it's the correct euro. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

It just grinds my gear so much. It's a niche thing to be annoyed at. It doesn't matter at all. I am aware it literally does not matter at all. It's like you know, it's that's like it's like yen, you know, 1000 yen, 1,000 euro. 1000 yens. Yeah, 1,000 yens. If you say, give us give us a thousand yens there. Uh it sound it sound mental.

SPEAKER_04

Um not to take away from your Euros thing, but like when people are saying like specifically, yeah. Instead of specifically specifically specifically.

SPEAKER_01

Do you know what we also have a thing in um we've noticed a few people in our like family group do this, but instead of genuinely, they say genuinely, genuine, yeah. Is this a thing in Dublin? It's an Irish thing. I would say so.

SPEAKER_02

I'm genuinely like I genuinely hated that.

SPEAKER_01

And I was like, did you mean did you mean genuinely?

SPEAKER_02

Do you genuinely mean genuinely? The whole Euro Euros thing really grinds your ears. There was one point I was uh me, Sean, and Dermot, uh friend of the Friends of the Pod. Friends of the Pad. I was talking about this and I was like, oh geez, like this this really like just gets at me. Sean had yet to join us at this point. It was just me and Dermot having this conversation. When Sean arrived, Dermot kept joking, like, oh, we're out, like this is like a lads night, lads, lads, lads, like as in he was doing it in a very making fun of that type of bravado type thing. But Sean was like, Oh, what have you been chatting about? What we've been up to or whatever, and we got talking into this Euro Euros thing again, and so I was explaining relaying it all to Sean, and then Dermot was like, Do you think this is what other lads talk about on their lads night? Yeah, like instead of instead of being like, oh man, you see her, she's so hot, man, isn't she? Instead, it's like, no, people are saying euro wrong. They're saying Euros and what they mean to say euro, and they're saying it wrong. They're saying it wrong, guys. Well, I don't get invited to last nice because I'm literally like, what a bitch yeah, it's really intelligence, yeah. It's pretty intelligent. And that was when I I heard the like shredding guitar, and I was like, Oh, this is the coolest thing ever. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

You know what? At least you have friends.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah, that's true.

SPEAKER_04

On that note, on that note, thank you for inviting me.

SPEAKER_01

This is the only human interaction I get outside of my house.

SPEAKER_02

Same.

Guests' Plugs

SPEAKER_02

So, guys, that does it for this episode of the podcast. Thank you so much, Pagan. Thank you so much for having me for being here. Thank you for having us. Guys, where can people find you? Let's start with you, Pagan.

SPEAKER_01

Um, I'm at Pegan McGrath on Instagram, and uh, you can check out any audiobooks of voiceover work under the same name. It's on IMDB as well. Um and Pegan McGrath on TikTok. Actually, yeah, I've rebranded recently, so it's basically all Pegan McGrath at Pegam McGrath on Instagram and TikTok.

SPEAKER_02

Well, Steven, where can people find you?

SPEAKER_04

So, yeah, Instagram at StephenDaley Show is where it is. I do have a TikTok, but I haven't really put anything on there, but you can find it. Yeah, radio voiceovers at stependaly.ie and uh other place you can go to keep up with all of my doings and transwirings. But let's be honest.

SPEAKER_01

Would it be like is it has anybody ever just been like, well, if you want to find me, just find me?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I'm out there.

SPEAKER_02

You can find finding. What's it to you, huh?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, what's it to you? That's event for like in your pocket later, is like the people who ask you questions they could have Googled.

Silly Questions

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that's that's another one. That's another one. That's a great one.

SPEAKER_04

That's just an answer you can. I know you want to wrap up and go home, but then like community Facebook pages which is like, you know, what time is Tesco open till later? Oh god. Yeah, yeah. Did anyone else hear that?

SPEAKER_02

Uh oh on those kind of silly questions. Uh, I used to work in a cinema and someone came in and they asked me, I was like, uh, what time does your do your 6 p.m. movie start? I was like, they can't actually be asking me that, right? So I was like, oh, do you mean like past the trailers? Like, uh and they're like, no, no, like when do the trailers like when do they when does when does it start? And I was like, are by how can someone how is someone asking me this?

SPEAKER_01

How did we get here?

SPEAKER_02

But you know, look, like there's there's people out there like that, and you know, it takes all sorts, takes a world every kind of people make a love cool rant. It's all right, as you know, we all just lend a helping hand to everyone, yeah, and we can make the world a better place.

SPEAKER_01

I am honestly really nice. Like, I I I don't rant all the time, it's only just here on this.

SPEAKER_02

It was a space to rant. It was we we we encouraged uh ranting. Yes. Other than that, we're all you know happy. Yeah, I'm super happy, yeah, probably, and yeah. Mostly yeah, yeah. Well, that

Outro
