This episode I rank the family members of a very close family that I have been a part of for over 45 years.  I know them well.  Sadly, too well.

Oh, here we go. I think I like that laugh at the end, Gregory. Um, all right. Well, welcome to a weird one this week, the third uh uh podcast of the week. This one's gonna be very, very short, folks. It's really just meant for a few people. But if you want to hear me rip into the people that are very close to me, not all the people in this are very close to me. Some of them are, and not all the people that are close to me are included in this. This is really just in respect to a family that I grew up with um since probably I was nine years old. And I'm still very much uh they're still very much a big part of my life. And what I do, just for those that don't have a context of what we're about to do here, um I rank from first to last every member of their family. Grandparents, from grandparents to uncles to siblings, and really, and some spouses. Uh, it really does come down to uh it really does come down to um the noblets and the chinouskies. They're the focal point of this entire podcast. So if you want to uh just understand what I feel about these people in general, you may listen. But I will not feel uh insulted if you pass this one. This one's gonna be short, maybe 15 minutes at the most, but we will see because I haven't yet begun. All right, so let's go back. So 1980, let's see, fourth grade. I was 77, 78, 79, 81. 1981 is when I met one William Noblet. Now, Bill Noblet was um sat next to me. I went to Catholic school in South Buffalo. And oh wait a minute. I am actually voxing this. Ha ha ha. Um I am I I I am I go to the uh San Ambrose Elementary in Buffalo, New York, South Buffalo, New York, and Roman Catholic grade school, K through eight, and uh fourth grade, I sit next to this kid named Bill. And we all had pencil cases, and I don't know if kids have even pencils today because it seems like kids don't even do anything today. But back then we would have pencil cases, and historically my grandfather, who was a World War II vet, um smoked cigars. He smoked cigars every day. And so I had a significant amount of old cigar boxes that I would use as my pencil cases, and sometimes I would wrap it in stickers or put stuff on it instead of it saying swisher sweets or I forgot, I don't even know these brands. Someone has a bunch of pilgrims, I think, on the cover, if I remember correctly. I might have it wrong. But I had on the cover of this particular pencil case the next year's Buffalo Bills schedule. So it piqued the interest of one Bill Noblet, and we got to talking, and we came to know each other throughout the year. Granted, we were still very young, but we got to know each other throughout the year. We knew that we both like playing sports and we both like football and things like that. And then fourth grade and then in the fifth grade, I started, we were in the same class together, and that that relationship grew, and then sixth grade came, still in the same um class as Bill, and that's I think when it really kind of took shape. Um, I played little league baseball, and he and I were on the same team that year, and his his brother, his brother Jeff, was our baseball coach. And up until I would like to say, up until maybe that point in time, I did really good in t-ball, really good, obviously, but but I had a hard time transitioning from they didn't have coaches pitch and pitching machines back then, so I had a hard time transitioning from from T ball to to like the second level, which is where kids threw the ball. And it really was just genuinely hitting the ball. Like I couldn't hit, like, couldn't connect good with the ball. And my dad would work with me from time to time, and you know that. But Jeff, for some reason, like it just clicked that year. And so then I was able to just pound the ball. And I did so well for the rest of the little league years, and then in sixth grade, I tried out and made along with Billy and a couple other guys, made the St. Ambrose team league, our team. Now, being in sixth grade, we weren't starting. Very few of us ever actually even got to play a little bit, maybe a maybe a little bit here and there at the end of the game. But come seventh grade and eighth grade, all of us had a year behind us in respects to playing together, and we were so good. Seventh and eighth grade baseball at St. Ambrose Elementary School. We we went way far into the playoffs. We I think we ended up playing. There was a team, I think, up in Tanawanda or something called St. Christopher's, I think. I think we were we we lost to them in the final the one year, and then there was another school like way out that we lost to deep into the playoffs. We never won the whole thing, but like we did everybody in South Buffalo. We were way better then, and it was great because like when you played in Little League, do you would start playing with some of those kids in Little League? Oh yeah, we kicked your ass, blah, blah, blah. It didn't matter though. It was it was just all bullshit. But I got to really get to know Richie very, very well, or Billy really, really well. And then with Billy came his brothers, it came um Jaff and Dickman, and then his sister Debbie. He has another sister that I won't talk about that much, only only during the ranking, but Debbie, who is Greg's mother, and then the coup de grave all the family was his father, um Mr. Noblet. His name is Richard, but Mr. Noblet is what I called him. Because back then we we we would talk to people with respect. So I got to know their family, I got to know their family very, very, very well. Um we'd go to Bills games in the 80s. Like I remember there was times where I would go the Bills would draw like 20,000 people, and this is when their stadium was 80,000. This is the years where they were two and fourteen when we got Bruce Schmidt number one, and we drafted Jim Kelly, but he refused to play for the Bills, and we ended up trading for Canielus Bennett. And then some of our other guys started panning out, like Metzelars and Daryl Talley and Kent Hall and Thurman and and uh Bennett, we got him, and some of the other guys, right? Shane Common. Um, but back before they got good, uh, I would go with I would go with Dick Dicky, was who is Richie's dad, which Richie was a baby then, and Dicky's best friend Chet, and then Bill and I would go to these games. And Bill and I would go in like seventh and eighth grade, and we would bring like five bucks, which was a lot of money back then, mind you, in the mid-80s. And we would his dad or Richie's dad, or dick man, would say, All right, guys, just wait until you hear the national anthem played and then go hit the scalpers up. Like, he didn't even ensure that we were in the stadium. Do you know what I'm saying? Like, we were, I mean, I don't I I I still don't think of it as weird, but 12 years old, outside of a stadium trying to find tickets where the quote unquote adults are in the park already, already in the stadium. And we did. We would able we we learned to negotiate, we'd hear the national anthem, and some guy would be like, Come on, guys, uh, five dollars a ticket. We're like, we're not paying five dollars for a ticket, the game's already started. And then we like we'd walk away because there was always scalpers around, we'd just go to another scalper, and the guy's like, No, no, no, no, three dollars a ticket. And I'm like, no, but there were times, there were times where we bought I remember seeing the Minnesota Vikings, we bought two tickets for a dollar. Two fucking tickets for a dollar. But um, granted, tickets didn't cost that much back then either. I think you can get like an end zone for ten bucks back then, so it wasn't like it was cheap, but compared to today's prices, it was ridiculous. And then um freshman year high school, I went to Bishop Tyman, which is a Catholic high school, until my dad got leukemia. So then we couldn't afford time and it was a private school, went to South Park, which is where I met my wife, soon you know, eventual wife. But Billy and I kind of separated. And Billy has this thing about him, like he if he's not like the center of attention no matter what you do, no matter who you are, he kind of will disres disregard you, throw you to the curb. And there's some issues with Bill. There always issues from Bill. It was always about sports, we're straight edge, so we didn't drink, we didn't do drugs, we love sports. He liked specific music, I liked all music. I got into that earlier, okay. But he would make fun of me for liking ACDC. He would make fun of me for liking Iron Maiden and Priest and Metallica and Scorpions and anything that had any harder edge than than what he liked. And I didn't mind some of the softer shit, but it was the fact that it wasn't the only stuff that I liked. But then I got to meet some of Richie or Billy's nephews and and we did like a hockey league. We started a hockey league, and yes, we started a hockey league. And Jerry was a fucking first first grader. You were you weren't even letting people until they hit fifth grade in the league. So he was first grader, and and Billy goes in and goes, Would you let Jerry play on your team? I'm like, I I don't have a problem with that. So he played. He actually scored a goal by accident, but he scored a goal that year. Probably doesn't remember it, but he did. And and we did we do this Saturday mornings where the where the this is the kind of I'm gonna I'm gonna frame this. This is the kind of person that Billy was, and I'm gonna use the word was because we were f high school kids. We were high school kids, and we went to this pizza read at the time called Ch Um Chicken Pizza Works, which was on Abbott Road near Southside. And John, his name and the owner died, but back then, John, we went in. Two kids, two fucking kids, saying, Listen, we want to start a floor hockey league at our school in St. Ambrose. Would you want to sponsor us? We can make t-shirts with your logo on it, and all we would ask for is money for the t-shirts and money to get to help us with like pizza and pop. So he they actually bought the shirts and they putched in a couple bucks towards the the pizza and the pop for like because we were gonna have a at the end of the year you'd have a like a whatever you call it, you know, a get together. Give out trophies. So we charged every kid, I think this is 86, 80, 86, 87 when it's when it started. Yeah, 87, 88 is when it started. Um I think we charged every kid like three bucks. But all the we were four teams with probably like 20 kids on each team at the time. 15 to 20 kids, 15 to 20 kids. Um, we were able to buy mini trophies for everybody, and everybody got a shirt that said chicken pizza works, the logo on it, and then at the end we had pop, pizza, and wings, and father Stanton would give us the keys to the fucking bait the the gym. It was just kids, kids with other older kids, because I grew up with boys' club where like high school kids were like they were the ones in charge. So, like to me, it was normal today. None of that shit would ever happen because people are fucking stupid, people ruined it. But it was not Friday nights, it was Saturday mornings, and it worked fine. And then I like I said, my dad got leukemia, and eventually I kind of was eliminated from the equation, and it wasn't until after high school that Rich Billy and I, my dad had said it's passed, and my and Billy and I it's kind of like reconciled a little bit. We kind of got back together. And by then, um Jerry was still they moved it to Friday nights. I think um Jerry's mother took it over by then. They moved it to Friday nights, they charged significantly a lot more money because they had to buy goalie pads and shit. We would just borrow this shit from kids. Like, you want to play goalie? You gotta bring your pads. Like it worked out, but no, it turned into like a business. Someone ended up stealing money from them. Like it was it's so fucking bullshit, and I don't care what anybody says, they ruined it. As all adults usually do, they ruined it. They moved it to Friday nights. Parents would sit there and watch their kids play and bitch when their kids didn't get a fucking goal or got a penalty or they coached and put them on the front line. There was none of that shit when Billy and I did it. The parents, they dropped off the kids and the fucking door was shut. Go fuck yourself. If you don't want your kid here, take your kid away. And every kid wanted to play. Every fucking kid wanted to play. It was awesome. Awesome. Great times. Nobody got fucking hurt, nobody sued anybody, nobody bitched, nobody had a fight outside of the fucking in the lobby or anything like that. Like like happened later when we were no longer in charge. Um so, but I got to know everybody so well. The uncles, the aunts, the cousins. And then as Billy and I s kind of went away, I got to go. We went to see Ozzie and Rob Zombie, Mudvane, and Trivium after a Bills game, Richie and I did. And that was basically the beginning of I think our friendship. Then it shifted. Because I remember Richie when he was in diapers. Like I was like in seventh-eighth grade and he was in diapers. Well, he's 41, I'm 54. So yeah, I was like 12, 13. Yeah, it was like 7th, 8th grade when Richie was born. And um uh so then we started hanging out, and Richie was really close. And I knew Greg when he was a little kid, but Greg was grown up, so then I got to meet Greg more and Jerry. I know I knew Jerry. Um, but Kevin was another one of their brothers. So I'm gonna do is I'm gonna I'm gonna do what I always do, but privately, but I'm gonna show the world what I really think about the Nobots. And this is the Smooth Jimmy's hardcore lock of the week. This is what it really is. This is how where you guys stand. And does it change? It can, but where I'm looking at this list right now, I have it written down, I can't see it ever changing. I can't see it ever changing. I think this is really where it's gonna stay. All right, so what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna start from the very, very top, and then I'll embellish maybe how many drops. It's not like a one through a ten, it's like a one through a thousand or a million, but like one would be one, and then maybe number two goes all the way down to like two hundred because there's a huge steep. It's not like they're close when it comes to my respect or my care or my opinion of them. And I don't know if anybody ever does this with other people's friends, but I do it for the noblets and the chinouskis, and I'm gonna do it right now for the whole world to know. Hello, world, hello Japan, Norway, Turkey, and Denmark? Norway? I don't know. I know we've got we've got Japan in the house. What what? What what? Let's go, let's go, uh Shohei Otani. Anyway, number one on this list. He will never be dethroned. I know the ones listening who know this list to a to a degree know exactly who I'm talking about. And that is when I say Mr. Noblet, I mean the patriarch, the grandfather, Richard Noblet, or Mr. Noblet in my case. Richard Noblet was one of the most amazing people that I've ever known in my life. He was in the Air Forester in Korea, was stationed in Greenland. Um, very nice. He got me into Sinatra. He was big into Sinatra. Uh, he loved boxing, he got me into boxing. I would go over all the time for the um for the old Mike Tyson um pay-per-views and shit like that. Oh, it was such a good time. And when I started dating Michelle, and then she went into the Air Force, or she was about to go into the Air Force, him and Michelle got super close, and they were talking about this and that and all this shit. And then when we would come home, they would have these. I would go there to the Noblet's on Harding Avenue and talk to Mr. Noblet and don't really give and this is when Richie and I were good, or Billy and I were good. I didn't even give a shit if Billy was in part of the conversation. Like I was there kind of to see Mr. Noblet. And when my dad died when I was a junior, part of Mr. Noblet, he was like a surrogate father, and then uh Richie's dad, Dickman, and I don't know if he knows this, but Dickman was kind of like older brother slash surrogate father to me. Like they were two people that I could confide in. And even um Richie's parents, not even a couple months ago, I I had to go to their house. So I mean I still hold them very, very highly. Now, Dickman's not as high as others in this group, but you know, maybe I should change that a little bit. Yeah, it's disrespectful. That is disrespectful. Let me cut this out. I will say, yeah, because that will piss them off if I do that. Okay. Alright, so now I'm just changing it up a little bit. So I see it's a it's a it's a what do they call those living documents? It's constantly moving. It's constantly moving. Man, I'm already at 20 minutes and I haven't even gotten to the fucking thing yet. Well, number one is Mr. Noblet, Richard Noblet, the first. Um, a few notches, not a significant amount of notches, but a few notches down, maybe like five or ten, is then one Helen Noblet. Now, there are two Helen Noblets in this world, or there used to be. One was Helen Noblet, the grandmother. This is not her. This is Helen Noblet, Richie's mother, who is an absolute angel and a saint. She was a nurse, she is highly intelligent, and she is uh drop dead gorgeous, which Billy or Richie doesn't like me to tell you in, but she is super nice person, one of the nicest people I've ever met in my life. She's not a real noblet, she's a guile, but because she married Dick Mann, she is a noblet, and she is now number two and has been on this list. And those two are probably etched in stone. Those will never move. Those two if I will never have a Mount Rushmore of the Noblets of four people, but if I had two heads, it would be Mr. Noblet and Helen. Then we're gonna go down a few notches, and this woman, this lady, has me reached number three solely based on some feedback that I got from one Mike Galivan, because apparently she was an amazing kisser, and she was a very good friend of my sister Carrie when they went to St. Ambrose, and that is Kelly Shanowski. I don't know her last name anymore. I know that she was always a very smart and nice person, and that both Kevin, Greg, and Jerry um look very much up to her for guidance. She's like the matriarch of that family now. And Kelly Chanowski, you are number three on this list. Um, it's because basically Mike Galvin said so. So, Kelly, congratulations. You were on number three on my list. And then comes uh the next group, and it goes down a few not a few more notches. We're probably like at 50 now. You know, we're we're still above water, but we're not we're getting close to like where it really kind of gets a little shady. Where does it really even matter if these people are on my list? That actually happens after the next grouping. But this one is actually a duel, and it's out of respect because of my respect for both of these gentlemen, and that is one Jerry Shinouski Sr. and Dickman or Mr. Noblet or Richard Noblet II. Um, they are my fourth, they're tied for fourth. Um Jerry Schinouske was always a gentleman, truck driver. He taught me the importance of having piss jugs when you drew in long drives on the highway. Always good for a story. Um, always gave me some of the dirt when he came to his kids. Very good. Guy and then Dick Man for obvious reasons. I mean, uh, I known him since I was like a little kid, took me to tons of Bills games, and um just always been a joy to be around. He is a special person, he is a very, very, very, very special person. He should be higher on this list, but he's not because Kelly is just too good of a kisser, from what Mike Gallagher said. So Jerry Sr. and uh Dickman is number four, tied for fourth on this list. Now we got one more, and then it kind of gets under the water now. Now we're like, now everybody's shady. Okay, but this is the last one that's like on the up and up, and this is also a dual, a dual um ranking, and someone makes their debut on this list, on this ranking, and that is one Anne Collar and maybe future Chinowski, I don't know. But Anne, who is Gregory's girlfriend, and Sarah, who is Sarah Chinowski, which is Jerry's girlfriend, um, both very lovely young ladies who are extremely polite, and they are always into doing fun things and having a laugh. And I have nothing negative to say about either of them. And so they are number five on this list, and they are the last people on this list that would be considered um to be in a positive light in the eyes of one Matthew Christian Stoltman. Now, now we go like right to that line. This is the line, because they're really not human. So do I do I put them as a positive or negative? So I'm gonna put them as neutral, and that are two dogs. That is Rocky, who is probably my all-time favorite dog, or right there in the top two or three, and then Chase, who was Richie's dog. Rocky was Jerry's dog, Chase was Richie, it was Richie's dog or Helen's dog. Great dogs, didn't want to kill you. Um, I'm allergic to both of them, or at least I was allergic to Rocky, I know that. Um, but I loved them, loved those dogs, they were the best. So I didn't put them in the positive because they're not human, but I didn't put them in the negative because they were still better than the rest of the schlups that I'm about to talk to, um talk about now. So now that we're underwater, now we're getting into kind of like there's like a low-hanging fruit, not the lowest, the lowest hanging fruit, believe me, they're they're way down there. They're almost like they're in the Marianna's trench right now. But this grouping is kind of like just underwater. I like them, I I respect them, but I you know what? Will I go to their birthday parties? No. Would I would I stop at this if I saw them at the side of the road and uh they needed a ride, would I pick them up? This grouping, this uh next five groups, probably I would, but um, that's where it would end. After this, everybody else is on their own. So this next group is Sarah, sister Sarah, sister Laura, and sister Christy, Christy, or Tiz. I don't even know what the hell her name is, but it's one of those three, so I'm gonna use all three. So those three are two of them are sisters of Richie, and one of them is the sister of Kevin, Gregory, and uh Gerald. And uh I get along with them, but they they're in a whole nother circle. I didn't really interact with them that much, so I don't have anything negative to say about them, but I just don't have anything positive. So they're just there. Then here's Kevin, which is Jerry and Greg's brother. I went to a hockey game at the old odd with him. It's a uh it's a moment we talk about every time we see each other, which is like once every year or two. And um, good kid, good, good dad, from what I understand. And I think he found a girl that's really nice. So I'm happy for him. But again, you're not you're not your dad, you're not your uncle Dick Man, you're not your grandpa, you're not your sister Kelly, and you're not your Aunt Helen. So Kevin, you're where you are. Now there's one that's actually moved up quite recently. And I'm sure he's gonna sit back and he's gonna choke on his on his soda pop or whatever he's drinking, and then the truck stop that he's at right now. Maybe he can maybe he can separate himself from that lot lizard that I'm sure he's seeing, and that is one Gregory Chinowski. Greg Chinousky is someone that I would actually not have a problem dating my sister. He is a very, very good person, hard worker, good guy. Um, but he sometimes just likes to rub you the wrong way or say something that completely disrespects you. And there is still that time. I'm sorry, Greg, you were probably one year, one first grade, you wanted to play hockey with us in the street, and your mom said no. So you put your stick on the street and you stay you stood in the in the apron of the driveway, and you had your Green Bay Packers uh sweatpants on and sweatshirt, and you had boogers going down your sh your fucking face, and your shirt was all wet from I don't know what. I think you had piss soaked pants. He probably did. I mean it wasn't your fault. I mean, it is what it is, but you are a really, really good person, Greg. Maybe if there's anybody that gets from underneath the water, it's you. But that would be, I don't know what it would take for that to happen. But you're not there yet. You got a long way to go. Then is your mother, Debbie. Now, Debbie was really, I have no problem with Debbie at all, but but she did ruin the um St. Ambrose Floor hockey league, and that I can't um I can't accept. So because she screwed a whole generation of children out of that experience, Debbie is where she belongs, but she's still not in that low group. Then there's uh Uncle Jeff, who is Richie and Jerry and Rit and Gregory's um uncle, Dick Man and Debbie's brother. He was my baseball coach for one year for sure. He was a okay guy. Uh, didn't know him super, super well, especially the older we got. But um maybe maybe the boys would like to discuss him at some level. He has since passed away. God bless his soul. But Jeff, I don't have other than you were my baseball coach, I don't really have too much to say, both positive and negative. Kind of like Kevin. Um then the fucking then then the fucking the weight just went, the anchor went all the way down to the bottom of the fucking ocean. Now we're talking like there's no sunlight. We're talking like the Mariana's trench where they those weird ass fish with the big eyeballs and like the antenna sticking out and the big teeth, the weird shit. Like, is there a UFO down there? Is there dinosaurs still living down there? I don't know. But I do know who is also down there, and that's this next grouping of people. And some of you already know that you're there because you're waiting for this list. Uh sorry, and that is one first on this list is one Daniel uh noblet and Billy Noblet. Talked about Billy before. Um they're dead to me, I guess. I've seen them at their brother, his brother Jeff's wake, but I've seen him once in 20 years. I don't hear anything good about him or her, but I don't care. So they really should be last on this list. Well, they wouldn't be last, they'd be second from last on this list. They should be there, but I didn't just out of disrespect to both to two members that are coming up. Um I wouldn't know. I wouldn't know anything about him. Wouldn't know anything about him. Would I care? Well, I mean, I've known him since I was, like I said, probably nine. So 45 years of my life. So is there something there? Yeah, there always will be, but I you can't, you know, you can lead a horse to water, you can't make him drink. There's nothing I can do. I mean, like I said, back in the day we were straight edge. We were no drinking, no drugs, sports. That's changed in many ways. Uh and I'm not talking about weed, I'm talking about heavier shit. Um, then next on the list is Craig might like this. He might not agree, but he might not like this. This is when Trish Chinowski. Trish Chinowski um was seemed like a very demanding woman. Didn't really know her that well. I met her a couple times at their house and a couple times at Boeing. I know that she dressed like a 50s girl, maybe every once in a while. I remember going to when when Gregory lived in Amherst, I think it was. And he had this little house and they were listening to 50s music. So I always associate 50s music with Trish. The reason why she's low on my list is because I think she's still a Chinouski and she did not change her name back. So she's technically she's part of the family. And she did Greg wrong. So fuck her and fuck uh anything that anything that she wants. Um next, okay, one of the primetime players is Jerry. Uh he just came back into our lives. He was dead for about 13, 14 years. Story about Jerry. Um Jerry, I had a swimming pool in South Buffalo. Jerry was so uh plastered that he fell. He fell backwards on our ladder and landed on the crown of his head. But he was so obliterated, he doesn't even remember this. He was so obliterated that his body was probably so limp that he didn't break his neck. Very well could have broke his neck. That was the last straw from Michelle. She banned him from the house. Um what else did he do? He Oh yeah, he wanted to fight a good friend of mine for no reason at all. And what it is, they were both mouths. But but Jerry got kicked out of the house then too. That was, I think, Michelle's That was actually, I think, the end of it from for Michelle. Because that was Michelle's 40th birthday party. And that was 14 years ago. So yeah, he would have been that would have been when he was banned. He was banned 14 years ago. But he's back in our lives, unfortunately. I went over to Jerry's house a week or two ago. We got high. Jerry ordered a pizza, fucked it all up. We watched some of the World Cup. And Jerry, Jerry needs to do more weed and less rum. Because I think Jerry would enjoy being high more. I think the next time you get high, Jerry, it should just be on the edibles. But it is what maybe we should do that Saturday. Don't drink, and we just fucking get high, and uh order a fucking extra sauce pizza undercooked, and we'll throw up in Richie's pool. Uh next, grandma Helen was Mr. Noblet's fucking wife. Billy's mom, Richie and Jerry and Greg's grandma. She was a real cunt. She really was bad. Um, it's hard to talk about somebody who's past, but I there's not a good thing. There's not one good thing I have to say about that woman. She was always ornery and she always defended Bill against all common thought and reason. But whatever. Fuck her. She's on her own. Now we drop down even more. Now we're like into the soil. We're not even in water anymore. We're like in the in the in the crust of the earth. And that is one where there's two more groups left. First group, our first name is Richie. Uh, we all know about Richie. You've heard him on here a couple times. He is a real fucking jobber, real pieces of work. Um I'm 55, but I feel like I'm 85 because I know Richie. Um, I have too many stories. They're kind of come out in all these all these podcasts. But just so you know where I stand with Richie Noblet, he is almost at the very bottom of the sh of the Noblet hierarchy. But that honor goes to a husband and wife that now they're going, uh-huh.
