In this powerful episode of Networking By Design, Suzy McCleary explores the hidden reason some people naturally attract customers, builders, and opportunities… while others feel like they are constantly chasing.

This episode dives into Human Design Profiles, nervous system coherence, and the real meaning of embodiment in business. You’ll discover why people are not just listening to your words — they are feeling your energy, your alignment, and whether they trust your signal.

If you’ve ever felt exhausted trying to “do business the right way,” this episode will help you understand how to stop performing, start leading authentically, and become the kind of person people naturally want to follow.

If effort alone created success, you’d already have it.  The shift happens when you understand how you are built to lead.

Welcome back to Networking by Design. As always, I am so excited to have you here. This podcast literally allows me to live and breathe my passions. It allows me to speak my truth and respond to what exactly lights me up. Now, today's episode is about so much more than just building a business. It's about experiencing that deep visceral satisfaction you get when you truly love what you do, when you get to show up authentically, and when you get to create impact from a place of genuine excitement. So this is what I hope you can get to experience by the end of today's episode, understanding how to tap into that exact same feeling. So we're moving from effort to effortless attraction in your own business. Now, I am not here to teach you how to sell. I am here to help you to become the kind of person people naturally want to buy from. Think about that for a moment, because who you become, that determines absolutely everything you create. For example, for me with a 5-1 profile, I'm not here to just post and hope. I'm here to understand things deeply and then give people clear solutions. Now that's why I naturally teach. That's why I break things down. That's why people trust me. But when I try to just be consistent, follow the scripts, nothing lands because it wasn't aligned with how I'm built. So let's dive into what actually works. So last week we went deep into authority. We talked about how your body makes decisions, how certainty is created internally, and why people don't follow words. They follow certainty. Now here's where most people get stuck. They start to feel clearer, they start to feel more aligned, but nothing changes in their business. So people still aren't moving. Their content still isn't landing, they're still second guessing what to say. They think, maybe I need more confidence, maybe I need better content, maybe I need to show up more. But that's not the next step. The next step is embodiment. Now let's make it really simple. Authority is internal, embodiment is external. It's what people actually experience when they come in contact with you. Because leadership, like real leadership, is not what you feel inside. It's what other people recognize. So you can be completely clear internally, but if your words, your energy, and your actions aren't saying the same thing, people don't move. Not because they don't like you, not because your offer isn't good, but because they can feel that mismatch. And this is where the industry gets it so wrong. You've been taught that messaging is about language. What to say, how to say it, which script converts. But buyers and the builders, they are not primarily listening to your words. They're reading your coherence. They're asking, do I believe this person? Do they believe themselves? Do I feel safe following them? Because your nervous system speaks first. Before your words land, your energy already has. So if your content says, this will change your life, but underneath you're thinking, God, I hope this works. That's what people feel. And that's why they hesitate. So when your messaging isn't landing, it's rarely your vocabulary. It's incongruence. And embodiment is the repair. This is the shift from saying the right thing to being someone people trust, from performing to leading, from effort to authority. Now let's make this practical because this is where most people understand it, but don't actually change anything. We go back to your human design because your design doesn't just tell you how to decide, it tells you how to show up. And your profile is the key to that. So your profile is your natural role. It's how people experience you. Not the version you think sounds impressive, the version your energy does effortlessly. So instead of trying to be good at marketing, you start using what already works for you. Let's break down the lines. Okay, line one, the investigator. You build trust through depth. So in your business, this looks like instead of posting, this product is amazing, it changed everything, you say, actually want to understand this properly. So I looked into the ingredients, the research, how it works in the body, and this is what I found. Or instead of a vague DM like, hey lovely, have you seen this? You say, I've been looking into this because I wanted something that actually works long term. Happy to share what I found if you want to see it. One is surface, one is grounded, and your people trust the grounded version. Next, our line two, the natural. You build trust through ease. So when you're trying to teach everything, you actually dilute your power. This is what it often looks like. You overexplain in posts, you feel like you need to justify everything, you try to prove your credibility. But your best content is simple. This is what I'm using right now, and I love it. Or I didn't expect this, but this actually worked. Even in conversations, yeah, I've been using this and it's been really good. That's relaxed energy. That's what people lean into. Our line three are the experimenters. You build trust through real experience. So your power is not getting it right. It's in showing the process. So instead of waiting until something works, you share, okay, tried this for two weeks, this part worked, this part didn't, but this was interesting. Or I completely overthought this post yesterday and it flopped. But this is what I changed. Even in your business, I'm testing this approach this week. I'll let you know how it goes. That honesty builds connection faster than perfection ever will. Our line fours are the connectors. You build trust through relationships. So if you're trying to grow through cold audiences, it's always going to feel heavy. Your business actually grows here. Check in with someone who commented weeks ago. Send a voice note instead of a long message. Remember something personal and follow up. Instead of, hey, are you open to an opportunity? You say, hey, I was just thinking about you after our last chat, how did that go? Or you popped into my head when I saw this. That's how your business grows, not through reach, through relationships. And our line fives, you're the leaders. You build trust through solutions. So when you hold back or soften your message, people don't move. Instead of, this might help, just something to think about, you say, if you've been dealing with low energy, this is what I recommend starting with. Or in a DM, from what you've said, this is exactly where I started. Or in content, if you're doing all the things and nothing is working, this is why. Clean, direct, certain. That's what people are looking for from you. And finally, our line sixes, the role model. You build trust through perspective. So your power isn't in being perfect, it's in showing what you've lived. Instead of polished content like, here's my five-step system, you say, I used to think this was the way to build. And honestly, it burnt me out. This is what I'm doing differently now. Or if I could go back two years in my business, this is what I'd tell myself. Even in conversations, I've been where you are. This is what shifted it for me. That lived experience creates trust. So can you see what's happening here? You're not learning new strategies, you're removing the ones that aren't yours. And when you do that, your content gets clearer, your conversations get easier, and your business starts to move. And here's the part that most people miss. Embodiment is not about adding more, it's subtraction. It's removing the performance, it's removing the scripts that aren't yours, it's removing the pressure to sound right. So your truth can actually come through. And when that happens, you stop trying to convince people and you start to allow them to recognize themselves in you. So here's what I want you to look at this week. Before you post, before you message someone, before you follow up, pause and ask yourself, am I trying to sound right right now, or am I actually being real? Am I performing or am I leading? Am I creating pressure or am I creating clarity? Because when those clean up, your business changes fast. Not because you did more, but because people can finally feel you. So next week, we take this one step further. We move from embodiment into aligned action, the kind that actually creates results without burning you out.
