Keep That Same Energy
Respect isn’t complicated, but it does require consistency. We’re talking about the real meaning of “keep that same energy” and why switching up your attitude depending on the day, the mood, or the audience breaks trust fast. When someone brings you warmth one moment and disrespect the next, we explain why matching that energy isn’t being petty, it’s enforcing a boundary.
We get personal with examples from everyday life, including workplace tension, fake behavior, and the kind of “apology” that shows up hours or months after someone already crossed the line. We also dig into the idea that freedom of speech doesn’t erase consequences, especially when people are carrying stress, trauma, and exhaustion you can’t see. A big part of emotional intelligence is learning how to say “today isn’t my day” without taking it out on the person in front of you, and learning when to take a timeout before your cup overflows.
Then we take it home to relationships: reciprocity, emotional labor, and the bare minimum problem. If one person is pouring in time, effort, care, and responsibility while the other person gives excuses, the math never works. We talk about what it looks like to actually show up, solve problems, and be dependable, and why people eventually walk away when their energy isn’t returned.
If this hits close to home, listen all the way through, share it with someone who needs a reset, and leave a review so more people can find the conversation. What’s one boundary you’re done explaining?

Why Consistency Matters
SPEAKER_02Hey, guys, I'm not bullied. We got it on a little bit before we got this motherfucker fall.
SPEAKER_01This little bit, this little thing.
SPEAKER_02I don't know what the hell is going on with some of y'all, boy. Y'all don't understand the concept of goddamn hey, keep that same motherfucking energy. Because, hey, in the world that we live in today, man, for some of y'all be goddamn fake and flodging, like a motherfucker. Be goddamn trying to goddamn act one way with some people and a different way with others. So this is why this podcast came out today. Keep that same motherfucking energy. You wanna act sometime of the day and wanna act different tomorrow? Everything cool and you know goddamn got your little shine on and shit. Nah. Fuck your goofy ass. B facts. Fuck ya. Because once it's fuck you today, it's fuck you tomorrow. I'm sorry, let me say it like I really say it in real life. If it's fuck me today, it's fuck you forever. Because once I push you to that notion and I push you to that energy, that's the energy that you gave me. Fuck you. The fuck? You thought this shit was supposed to change because of the shit that you give out, the shit that you get in return? So, but if you want me to be cordial with you, calm with you, you know, care about you, look out for your best interest, same way you look out for mine. Hey, we can keep that energy. But if you want to say, fuck me, I'm sorry, Tuxin got that. I'm sitting up here trying to bond
Meet Tux And The Daily Vibe
SPEAKER_02with me for some reason of all days. I don't fucking know. Like he's like, look, look, look at this. He keeps the same energy with me every fucking day. He knows when I'm on some bullshit. I know when he's on some bullshit. He gets treated a certain time of way, man. You might wake up and live and step in a puddle of piss. Hey, he he he a firm believer on that. Keep that same motherfucking energy. And by the way, Tux is my dog, by the way. Hey y'all, let me go ahead and let me go ahead and introduce y'all to Tux. He he's sometime as hell. This is my big baby right here. This is my big baby. Say Tux say Tux. Look, look, look, look at them. Look at them. Look at them. Say hey. Say hey, Tux. Alright, now bye. Alright. So we keep saying keep that same energy. Because regardless on the day of how you feel, some people thrive like they know you for a certain vibe and they know you for a certain level to deal with them, okay? I am not eating my food after I'm petting my dog, by the way. I will drink my drink though. But that's why I say keep the same energy. But a lot of people think at fake and flawed, just because certain people come around in a circle, man. Fuck you, you, you, and you, and you can stay, but all the rest of y'all motherfuckers can go. Because they want to act fake and flaw. Um, like let's go ahead and let's go ahead and keep it basic with you. Like, shit, I give y'all a little hint on something. So
Workplace Shade And The Line Drawn
SPEAKER_02some shit popped off at work one day. I guess somebody came or was running their mouth about certain situations that had nothing to do with me, okay? So I was like, shit, hey, what's up, man? Hey, what's going on? This same person used to speak to me on a regular basis. Blah blah. Shit, like the motherfucker acting sometime. Then the motherfucker popped off and said, Oh, some of y'all act fake as fuck around here. Was that directed at me? Oh my god. I was like, man, shit, okay. From this day forth, keep that same motherfucking energy. So fast forward times, a couple months went past. One of the other dudes got down, went over and talked to him. Jack made me go now. Man, fuck that motherfucker. That motherfucker wanna be fucked up towards me that one day. I don't fake and flush. I don't do I don't act that I don't act like my period on. Yes, men do have periods too. We just be all the rest of the week that y'all don't. That's just a reminder. I'm just being straight up. So sometimes we emotional bastards. I don't give a fuck. I I take shit at face value. You might been having a bad day. You caught me on the right day. Don't give a fuck. So, but I am a fur. But let me go ahead and get this straight. Let me go ahead
Why Apologies Don’t Always Land
SPEAKER_02and get this disclaimer out though. Don't try to come back and apologize to me. My mama did it at me all the time. Cuss me the fuck out. And then try to come back a couple hours later.
SPEAKER_01Oh my god, I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have talked to you that way.
SPEAKER_02That has trained me for the rest of my life. Y'all want to act fucked up? Guess what? Get the fuck out my motherfucking face. Keep you and your fucking ass got them apology. Because that shit don't work on me. My mama tried it for me out of all these years out of my motherfucking life. Now I'm an adult. I can tell you get the funk out my funky fucking face. You get me? Okay. But that's where we stay at. A lot of people don't understand. They want to say, okay, that people make bad days. I understand people have bad days. But there's a way that you can talk to somebody and tell them, hey, I'm having a bad day. Today ain't the day. You come all fucked up to me, you pop off fucked up to me. Don't expect me to cut them card to your ass. Because I'm an 80s baby. I ain't with this goddamn gender parenting bullshit. You come all fucked up, you act fucked up, you behave fucked up, you get fucked up. You get fucked up energy. But if you're pleasant and like shit, hey man, and understanding, it goes a lot a lot longer way. Let me say that right. Because y'all might say, oh, well, that's condescending. No, what I'm saying is, if I'm treating you a certain way and you give me some negative bullshit, or you try to handle me a certain way, stand by the standby. You might get cussed out, you might get looked at crazy. You might get looked at like I want to punch in the motherfucking throat or the motherfucking eye. Just I'm just saying. I'm not gonna say I'm gonna do it. I'm just saying that's the that's that's what's telling me in my head to do. And that little demon, Damien, want to come out and touch you. Come out and play for a little bit. So, because I mean a little bit of them might come out. I'm just gonna let me honest. Shit, I be having fucked up days. My little demons me want to come out and play tomorrow. They be banging at the door tomorrow, something let me out. I want to come out and play with this motherfucker. This motherfucker feeling froggy. This is my opportunity to let out for one second, and I can I can just let out and play with this motherfucker and not be looked at crazy. But I mean, that's what we all do sometimes. A lot of us have our inner demons that wish they can come out and you know, grab somebody by the throat. Not choke them, just shake them real quick and let them go. I mean, just like literally, just shake. That's all I needed to get out. Just sh because we're gonna say be honest with a lot of these damn adults nowadays. Y'all need your motherfucking ass whooped by talking to people and treating people fucked up, y'all need your motherfucking ass
Freedom Of Speech Meets Consequences
SPEAKER_02whooped. You need to just go ahead and got them say, Oh, let's go ahead and go into the backyard and put these gloves on like we used to. Because this whole cancer culture, this whole, I think I can say what I gotta do because of freedom of speech, and this, that, and the third. Keep getting them thinking you got free to speech. Because you're gonna have free to speech with the right motherfucker on the wrong motherfucking day, and that motherfucker is gonna fuck you up on the right day, and you're gonna be up there like this.
SPEAKER_01Oh my god, I don't know why he hit me. I was just speaking about how I feel. I didn't know I wasn't being offensive.
SPEAKER_02What you consider offensive or fucked up does not mean that person on the receiving end is not gonna have that way. Because what you did, what you don't understand with a lot of people nowadays, we deal with our own traumas different ways. Yes, I have traumas. Yes, my kids have traumas. So you gotta learn the people that you're dealing with and just not learn them at face value. Maybe you have a conversation with them and understand what the fuck they're going through on a regular basis, and then that's where we decide where we at. All this freedom of speech shit. Freedom of speech should get you fucked up in the right environment. Treating people fucked up, bumping people and thinking they ain't supposed to bump back. I was raised on the the era of what you give out is what you get in return. So if you treat me fucked up, you might get cut the fuck off. We might not speak ever a fuck again, and I'm okay with that. Hell. I didn't speak to my sister for two fucking years. Off of a disagreement or different views on shit. And I was okay with that. She wasn't, but I was. Because sometimes you gotta you gotta show people where you stand in certain situations because the way people treat you and the way people come off fucked up to you might be based off of the energy you give out. Or they might feel like it's a safe place. But you cannot dictate how that person processes that shit that you tell them. Like straight up. Because we all go through bullshit on a regular fucking basis. That's why a lot of days I will shut the fuck shut the fucking world out. I will only speak to those that I have to speak to. Other than that, I will I don't give a fuck if my goddamn phone goes dead. I don't give a fuck. I gotta call that motherfucker from my business phone just to make sure the motherfucking line on. Just being honest. Because we all have bad days, we all go through fucked up situations to where we have
Bad Days, Timeouts, And Self-Control
SPEAKER_02to just dial back, take a break from the world. Because sometimes this fucking bullshit ass planet, this bullshit ass world, the bullshit ass people we're involved with are too much. And sometimes we need a flag on the play, a time out. Shit. Well, I just need a breather. I just need to go outside and smell the fucking roses. I need to go outside and water my motherfucking plants. Something to distress away from the fucking world because it's been too much. And everybody's not privy to your privacy.
[Ad] Fit, Healthy & Happy Podcast
SPEAKER_02So what you can't consider. Oh well, I said that fucked up. I said that wrong. I told y'all this shit wrong and uncut. I be fucking up words and shit. This shit coming
(Cont.) Bad Days, Timeouts, And Self-Control
SPEAKER_02straight off my head, by the way. Um, a lot of times when you deal with people, you gotta understand sometimes we like it might not be you, it might not be me, but it might be everybody else in the world or everybody else they come in contact with that will come off and treat them fucked up. Because it's just like, hey man, I'm having a bad day. Just understand that. Just give me a few, give me a breather. Don't get caught up in your feelings. Because it might not be you at all. It might be work, might be bills, might be my bank, might be my money, might be my goddamn mama, might be my family, might be my kids, might be, might be my dog, might be the goddamn trash man that didn't pick up my motherfucking trash or left shit out beside the trash can, knocked shit off, and didn't get it all. Now I got a call to motherfucking ragged ass trash company. Oh hell, I might have came home and got them lights cut off. Not because I forgot, didn't have the money to pay the bill, I just might have forgot. And I'm over here blaming my dumb ass self. But what I'm saying is there's a whole butt of a bunch of contributing factors in our lives that dictate how we are, the safety net that we're in. And and and like we tell people all the time, don't contribute to the bullshit. You contribute to the bullshit, you might get cussed the fuck out. What you're supposed to do is like we say, this is this is where that 50-50 bullshit come in. Just not in relationship, it's coming in every aspect of life. Like, if I'm having a bad fucking day, don't make my day 50% worse by bringing me some bullshit. You better read the motherfucking room before you goddamn jump off and your ass off in this fire. Just saying. Because we as humans don't know how to sometimes take ourselves out of the mix to where we have so much going on and so many outline factors, so many contributing factors, to where we can't turn our minds off, and it's just like bullshit piles on bullshit, piles on bullshit, piles on bullshit. And we don't know, we we we don't get a break. So times when you goddamn keep goddamn filling a cup up, that motherfucker gonna overrun. That motherfucker might reach out and goddamn slap the shit out of you. That bitch might get too heavy. That bitch on your plate might get too full. And what do you do? You have to address the certain you gotta take we ain't saying we address shit. Nah, we don't address shit. You gotta actually take a breather, take a timeout. Because that's what timeouts are for. Because when we deal with timeouts, we have to deal with timeouts. When we deal with certain aspects in life, we have to deal with certain aspects in life. Because a lot of the shit that we deal with on a regular fucking basis is what we're having to deal with on a regular fucking basis. And a lot of the shit that we deal with, a lot of times matters more than anything else. Because we don't get breaks, we don't get pause sessions, we don't get to take these situations to where we just chill and enjoy ourselves and just take a breath and we're just worry-free, scot-free, no fucking headaches, no fucking misery, whatever. Whatever the fuck you want to call it, sometimes we need those breaks. And it's sad to say this, but a lot of people in life don't understand what the fuck a break is. But that's why we say that 50-50 shit comes in. Because if you are my significant other, you're my homeboy, you whatever to me. You're my you're my boot boot, my whoop the
Relationships, Duties, And Mutual Care
SPEAKER_02whoop, my wife, my girlfriend, whatever, my mistress, whatever. Don't bring no more bullshit to the party. You're supposed to take the bullshit away from me and help me be better than I was before, instead of making my situation worse. Because eventually I'm gonna get tired of it. I'm gonna get tired of the bullshit. The same way you will get tired of the bullshit if I'm constantly got down. Let's let's go ahead and be frankly honest. If I'm I'm constantly out here cheating on you fucking bitches, got down spending my money on motherfucking other females and this, that, and the third, not not having a job, not goddamn paying my bills, not carrying my responsibility, not taking you out on dates, not treating you as a queen that you should be treated as, you're gonna get tired of it. You're gonna find another dick to hop on because that motherfucker might be goddamn switching street, nothens in your ear, and that's where we stand. Not to say that like both sides of the party are okay, but sometimes that's what happens. That's sometimes why motherfuckers cheat on motherfuckers because you you sitting up here being a nigga nagging ass motherfucker or an ancient ass motherfucker, and you ain't taking care of business at home, or you ain't taking care of the response, the responsibilities. Just saying, like, because y'all don't y'all get these responsibility shit twisted. My home duties, making sure you're good, making sure you have everything you have, making sure you're taken care of, making sure your car has oil, your goddamn gas has gas tank. Your gas has a gas tank. But I tell you, that's some that's some that's some that's some bullshit there. But you gotta make sure all the Lego pieces are accounted for and taken care of. You just can't think, oh, just because I'm coming home, I'm dropping dick, I'm doing this, that, and the third. That that's all that the other person needs. Hell, flip it on the other side. You coming home, your husband gets there, only thing you're doing is goddamn topping them off and telling them, mmm, go to sleep. Or making sure, because I mean, I can't say how many times I came home after working 16, 17 hour shifts. The only thing I had was a can of ravioli that I was gonna warm up in the goddamn microwave, or some beanie weenies, or some noodles, just to survive off after after 16 hours of work. We're not including drive time, we're just talking about 16 hours of work, and that's all I was able to do, but I was still expected to provide, be a be a husband, or be a caring individual. If I'm not cared for, why should I care about everybody else? And that's what people fail to realize. Stop being fucking selfish. Because when we're selfish and we don't take care of our significant others, we don't care if we take care of our kids, who's supposed to take care of us? Because them kids gonna remember that shit. When your old ass in a nursing home, don't say a motherfucking thing. When you in that time I tell nobody came to visit me, don't say a motherfucking word. Because you treated these kids fucked up their whole lives. Cussing them out, treating them all kinds of way, but you expect them to let you come live with them. Hell no, I'm finding the worst fucking nursing home to put your motherfucking ass in. The one with 2.5 star reviews out of 10. Not five out of 10. I want your ass to lay in your piss for the next couple of days, laying your shit. I want you to waddle in that motherfucking shit. You get what I'm saying? But you can't expect the top-tier treatment when you're giving a bare minimum. The fact that a bare fucking minimum, why is that even a thought in your head that that would be okay? Hey, I'm just asking. So I'm just saying, like, the energy you give out is the energy you're expected to receive. The caveat. What happens when you giving out all this energy, all these good vibes, and a motherfucker giving you the short end of the stick? I can't keep pouring a cup full of holes in it. You get what I'm saying? Because a lot of people think that you ain't supposed to get shit in return. That's like, I'm I'm so tired of people I've I see on social media. Oh, if you want to get my attention, you gotta you gotta cash app.
When Effort Isn’t Returned
SPEAKER_02I gotta cash app you to get your attention or just to have a plain conversation with you. To me, it's ass backwards. Time is the most valuable thing that we have. So I'm valu if I'm offering my time with you, that means I'm I'm taking away from one hand or one element to bring back to you. How is it that it's okay for you to say if you want my attention, I got a Cash App, I got an Apple Pay, I got a Z, I gotta spend some shit. So let's let's let's break this math down. Let's math this math on math sometimes. So you want me to contribute to it to your happiness, your resources, your fun, your expertise, everything. And you giving me the bare minimum. So that means this cup right here got a shit ton of holes in it. So when this cup right here has a shit ton of holes in it, and it's sitting here getting filled and pour shit in, it'll never be full. So me as a person, me as a human being, I'm gonna get tired of it. I'm gonna get tired, and I'm just like, man, shit, and I ain't getting no results out of this motherfucker. Or the way I care for this person isn't the same way they care for me. So why should I keep contributing my energy to somebody that's not giving it back? The love I give out is the love I should receive in return, right? So what happens? When that ship has sailed, and you now looking like, oh my god, I haven't heard from him all day. I hope he's alright. Nah, shit, I'm okay. I just realized that my time that I was not getting nothing in return. Oh, oh, well, what you mean you weren't getting in return? I we were we were we were we were having sex, right? I I was giving you hair. Shit. I mean, I can go to God know Mama son over here and got no the little massage problem and get the same type of treatment. I can go out here to a hooker on the street and give her the same type of treat treatment. You don't want me to treat you as such, like you just after my pocket, but that's really what you are doing. So what are we doing? So that that's like I I say this a lot of times. I understand why some of the men that are in their 60s and 70s will only spend, like they go out and spend that 250. If you don't understand what I mean by that 250, it's like this. They would rather spend that 250, make sure all their bills at the house are taken care of, da da da. Pay a bill, come over your house and fix some shit. Come, drop off, make a deposit, and be out, be back home. Because that's what that piece is. But you want the same type of treatment and you want the same man to have belief in you, but you never there when that man needs you. Never there for a conversation, never to say shit. When that man might like he's down to his last that you got him. What what is it? What happens? So on the on the other side, y'all are sorry ass men that don't know how to change windshield
Showing Up When It Counts
SPEAKER_02wipers, don't know how to do oil changes, don't know how to change a flat tie. This is this for y'all. What happens when she calls you and she needs you for help and you can't help her? You can't even come up with a solution. Oh, you someone, oh shit, I'll just pay for something. I just pay for somebody to do it. If that's the case, she can go ask, goddamn, she can go ask Triple A. Or she can go goddamn find somebody to goddamn break her off every time. Or you you feel so bad when she has the plumber, the mailman, the uh the electrician, the mechanic, all those dudes on speed dial. And they ready to got down as soon as she got on said something wrong, they she opened like they they first, oh, oh, I got you, I got you. Because they want the breath that you got down breathing. They want the space that you in. They want the attention that you're receiving from her without the effort. Is that okay? So you need to be that motherfucker that puts on that goddamn cape and be like, dun dun dun, be over there to her rescue. Babe, I can't I can't leave work, but let's let me figure let me figure some shit out. Let me let me make some phone calls. Let me get let me get whatever I gotta do. You know what? Shit, fuck this damn job. Let me come to your rescue. Uh hey, hey, I gotta go take care of something, but I'll be back. Sometimes we gotta do that. But a lot of people don't understand. Sometimes the energy that we give out is the fucked up energy that we receive. The good energy that we give out are the blessings that we receive at the same time.
SPEAKER_00But I mean, you get what you give out. Remember, as always, keep that same motherfucking energy. And
