SPEAKER_02Hey man, you know, just living life, man, and and and and keeping high vibrations, man. That's what we we got to stay on out here, man, in this climate in our nation right now, man. You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_04Facts, big facts, bro.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, we got to we got to stay on that, man. If it ain't about that, I ain't with it.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, you know what, though? We thank you, man, for people like you, man, still being that positive influence in the in the community, man. And and and one of the ones that are looking to do us pretty much opposite of what the world has been doing lately with the degeneracy, man. You're trying to promote positivity, taking our traumas and our our our lessons and mistakes and things that we've been through back in the day and flipping it and turning into something positive for the universe to be able to rock with, man. You feel me?
SPEAKER_02Nah, yeah, we got to do it, man, because you know, uh, like you know, I know, hey man, we got sons and daughters out here, man. And me myself, I got seven grandkids, brother.
SPEAKER_06Crazy. That's dope, man. A blessing.
SPEAKER_02I have to leave the old behind and walk into the new if it's just for them. Right.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I got two.
SPEAKER_02You feel what I'm saying? Facts, yeah, you know, so you know, because the things that we used to could live off of back in the day, that is non-void now.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02You know, that's why I try to tell these brothers is out here hustling and shit like that. Hey, man, it's all good. Get your money, but what are you thinking about to further that? Because you can't hustle your whole time, man, because you're not going, it's not gonna be a good outcome. It's two things, man. That's it. Jail or death.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah, facts. And just to get on it, go that's already been established. Yeah, just to piggyback off of what you're saying, segue what you saying, in all the gangster movies, what happened? Does the does the the the hustler does he live or does he die? And all our favorite gangster movies.
SPEAKER_02It's that just them two. Yes, yeah. Those are the only two options that you have, yeah, yeah. Yeah in the game.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03There's no 401, there's no 401k in the game.
SPEAKER_02No, it's not no, it's not not for us, no, now for the for the bushes and shit like that, you know. They they they yeah, they live in love, they billionaires, yeah. Kennedy is in the rockers, yeah.
SPEAKER_03The Kennedy's in the the Rockefellers, yeah.
SPEAKER_02You know, well, I'm I'm saying in particular, I said the bushes because they've been getting dope money. They the one of the biggest dope dealing families in America.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, oh man, this man can't fact he's going to the JFK files on these niggas, man. He's going in the JFK files.
SPEAKER_02He's preaching. It's uh it's uh fucking, you know, it's established already. It's public record, yeah. That's the thing. It's public record, but we still don't say anything. Right. And that's what they do. They give you, they say, oh well, we told y'all about it.
SPEAKER_03Really?
SPEAKER_02But that's that you see the arrogance in that, yeah.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02We we oh we told y'all about it. No, no, no, it's public record. Uh you you you you hype them and oh they're they're such patriots and they they do all of this, you know, they done this and they done that. But they done it off of pain from the people. So this is what I say about when you y'all y'all man, y'all hate the wrong things, and then you you expect uh a better outcome. Yeah, how you gonna get that?
SPEAKER_05Yeah, definitely.
SPEAKER_02So, yeah, I call names because it's it's public record, it's no secret. Yeah, and they don't care if you know.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, definitely.
SPEAKER_02What are you gonna do about it?
SPEAKER_05That's right. That's right.
SPEAKER_02But you know what they have because what are you gonna do about it? What can you do? What can you do? But it's it's things that can be done, but us as a people are afraid to do them, man.
SPEAKER_04What you think, man? Our people have always been a celebratory people, not a really war-like, war-building type of people, bro. That's you know, and so I'm saying, because it was in a pan, they was in a place where that the shit that they faced wasn't what they was facing amongst themselves, right? So I'm saying wars that they yes, I'm not saying that, I'm not saying that they were, you know, uh saints and stuff like that. Yeah, they were conquering villages and doing whatever, whatever parts of whatever the world they had, they were doing that, but these next level shit came brutal. We talking about weapons of mass destruction, we talking about fire uh uh uh gunpowder that people that we was we were never that we didn't they got that from the Asians. The gunpowder turned it into some weapons.
SPEAKER_02Think about this though, and you are correct on that, sir. But before all of that, it was psychological warfare because they came with deception. Ah, yes, yes, of course, yes, yes, of course, they came with friendly deception, of course, yeah. So a lot of our ancestors were coerced into falling for the banana in the tail pipe, okay. Because other than that, they would have been off with their head from the jump, yeah, yeah, yeah. Think about that different. So they finesse their way into whatever spot they hit.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Read the history, they finesse everybody.
SPEAKER_04But you know what, though, man? I'm gonna say this though, bro, because we're gonna we gonna we we we can man, we can rag on that all day. I wanna ask you a couple of questions, bro. Uh I found I found it pretty interesting, bro, that you got all these trades, man, under your belt, man, that you're able to handle, bro. You know what I'm saying? I I I was able to check out uh one of your interviews, and uh it it will, you know, you went in to telling how change is gonna come when you can instill knowledge of positivity into these boys. And that includes teaching them trades, teach them to be carpenters, teach them to be plumbers. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_02And hey man, because it will never go anywhere. Yeah, but we're not our society. I'm saying our people, man. We we all we shoot for is fucking entertainment.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02To be a rapper, to be a singer, to be a ball player.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, correct. Correct, yeah, definitely. There can only be so many LeBron, so many futures, so many Drake. Yes, you got to have a backup plan.
SPEAKER_02Think about those numbers.
SPEAKER_03Correct.
SPEAKER_02You feel what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_03No, you're preaching the gospel because you're gonna, like I said, once again, you're gonna have so many LeBron James, so many futures, so many Drake.
SPEAKER_02And then you and then you know what? It's fucking 20 other LeBron James out there in your neighborhood, in my neighborhood, in his neighborhood. But you know what? They didn't get to get up under someone that can walk him into that situation, though. So that's what I said about a village because you you got to have that in order to make it to that situation. Do you know how many ball players I know that could have been professional level, but they had family issues? Mom's about to get kicked out the house, dad is in the penitentiary. You dig what I'm saying? Big time.
SPEAKER_03Big time. Big time. Because you know what, go, I'ma elaborate on it more. See, we had some, see, like LeBron and the Kobe's and the kids like that, guys like that, they were, how can you say it, different breeds because they didn't go to the parties. So going back to piggyback and what you're saying, those dudes that you knew that was good could make it out the hood, they wasn't like dedicated to like LeBron and Kobe Wills. They was going to the parties, they wanted to hang out and wanted to be the dope boys.
SPEAKER_02I want I wanna let me let me interject on that, brother. You listen what I'm saying. They they they they were dedicated, okay. They would have all the attributes that they needed to make it, but they had issues that didn't allow them to, they couldn't remain focused.
SPEAKER_03Oh, gotcha, I gotcha, I gotcha.
SPEAKER_02You dig what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_03Okay, okay.
SPEAKER_02So that goes on in our community every day.
SPEAKER_03Correct.
SPEAKER_02Where the potential is snatched away because of family issues. So you feel what I'm saying? You can't be focused when you got to go and you wearing your big brother shit that was handed down.
SPEAKER_03Hand me down, yeah.
SPEAKER_02You're getting bagged on at school. You can be the coldest nigga, you would be the shack in the high school, you top ranking, and you but you still got all of this going on. Got it. Now, what is the brother that uh that made it to the NFL? He had uh the problems with the white family, took him in.
SPEAKER_03Oh, Michael, the uh blind side, yeah. One of my Michael War. Yeah, yeah, my mother blind side, yeah.
SPEAKER_02And then took him in. Okay, so that's one situation. Yeah, that's kids out there just like that. So you get what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_03Correct.
SPEAKER_02So that would you know, you can't be dedicated and focused if you got shit going on, man, that's life situations.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, correct, correct, correct. So yeah, so so let me ask you this, go. Why is it you say with the issues, you know, and with the stuff going on? This is the question I want to ask you, because you're you know, been you've you've been around. Why are blacks the black community scared of uh what's the word, mental health? Why is it black people are scared if you go to the therapist or go to the psychiatrist you're crazy? Uh elaborate with the uh question I asked you. Why why do you think black people are scared of mental health? Because there's nothing wrong with going to the psychiatrist.
SPEAKER_02There's nothing wrong with going to therapy, nothing wrong with it, brother, but let's let's get to the issue at hand.
SPEAKER_06Okay.
SPEAKER_02Who in the fuck has the bread to go to the proper therapist? Okay. Gotcha. Correct. If you if if you got insurance, but it's low budget insurance, you don't have the coverage to go to that therapist. Or if you gotta co-pay that shit, you don't got the bread to bust that down. So what you're stuck with pondering in your own thoughts. So, yeah, that's the issue. Most of the people in our community don't have the bread or the resources to go to a therapist, and then the the the shit that they give you from um wick or welfare, man, them people don't give a damn what you're talking about.
SPEAKER_03Oh, hell no, they do they they just collect the check. We all know that.
SPEAKER_02So, yeah, that's the problem. Gotcha, you know what I mean? But to go back to what we were talking about earlier, back on the plumbing and the carpentry and things of that nature, we got to show our kids what I was saying in a nutshell is that we they all want to hike the the athletes and the entertainers.
SPEAKER_03Correct, correct.
SPEAKER_02But what about the builders? They they they don't they don't want you thinking about that because that is the conduit to money, but they want to tell our youth oh that's not the way to go.
SPEAKER_03But there's nothing wrong with hard work.
SPEAKER_02There's nothing wrong with that, man. But they man, we built this country. But these are the the this this is the history that they voted to keep out of our school.
SPEAKER_03Correct. Correct.
unknownCorrect.
SPEAKER_02You dig what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_03Because they don't they don't they don't really tell like the real history. Because I've seen uh I was reading an article, they were taking something from I can't think of a goal. I read an article, they were taking something from black history, they was taking it out the out the classroom last office. I forgot what it was. But why do they don't take why they don't tell the truth about Columbus and say that uh uh he sold this country?
SPEAKER_02Why would they why would they? Because that that that kills all the lies that they have told for years all of these years, man. Yes but see that's the thing what I always used to tell my kids, that I I I learned young, man. When you tell a lie, you gotta tell enough, you gotta keep telling you, you gotta keep it up to cover up the other lies. That's all America been doing all this time. So when they say, you know, the the the the uh chicken that come home the roofs, they all of that shit is coming back on them now because all the lies that you told all of these years has got motherfuckers questioning what hell man, we wait wait wait. This that ain't what you said 10 years ago.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Like you I remember you feel me? So people reflect and be like, nah, wait a minute. So now you calling me stupid?
SPEAKER_03Gotcha. Gotcha.
SPEAKER_05You know what, man? Nah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02But again, we have to teach our kids, man, that the the way to go is that you know, think about the shit. Um uh what was the the the the shit man? We used to have uh the the the job core. Yeah, the job core. There was a lot of shit going on there, yeah. But it was over 60 percent of the fucking kids graduated from that shit and went on to have careers.
SPEAKER_04I think they had another one too. I know about job core, but they had one out here too. Um, something, man, where you can donate cars to the school and everything. It was somewhere down town. It was another, it was another program, man. I just can't remember out then, you know. But but but again, man, the thing is, is that you know that that message that you speaking is true, bro. You gotta push back towards the kids in the right way with the right things. But you know what? Hey, man, it's getting harder and harder with all this technology. Uh oh, we were talking earlier, man. Um we had an interesting talk about the birth rates. And we was like, I remember I asked you, I say, hey, you know that uh the the teenage uh what is it, the teenage pregnancy rate is down. And of course the death rates, excuse me, the birth rates uh uh in in the world, period, are going down.
SPEAKER_03The cost of down.
SPEAKER_04But yeah, but no, no, I'm saying the birth rates, though, it's less than the people are are being below replacement theory, meaning that they're not birthing enough people to replace the ones that are dying. And so, with that being said, I had asked DJ Go earlier, I say, hey bro, you know, why you think the teenage pregnancy rate is down what it used to be, period. And one thing that he said was, you know, about well, I I brought it up to him and we had a discussion was on the topic of the cameras and shit in the house. You know what I'm saying? I think that's part of the reason why these kids can't get away with a lot of shit that we used to because you got iPhone, that the mama's got to share your location. You see what I'm saying? You gotta share your location, they got a camera in there when you got the cameras in the room. I know I used to sneak out. I don't know about y'all.
SPEAKER_03Oh, yeah, I used to sneak out once my mama goes to sleep. My brother, yeah.
SPEAKER_04I'm going out the back door, you couldn't and you couldn't catch me.
SPEAKER_02But but see, y'all, y'all, y'all caught the y'all still caught the era of the latchkey kid.
SPEAKER_04What's that?
SPEAKER_02Latch key kids is that that's the era we came up here. Hey man, mama was at work, brother. Yeah, she was at work.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Don't open that.
SPEAKER_06Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, oh yeah. Had to watch my brothers and sisters and cook and shit. Yeah, don't you invite none of your friends in the house.
SPEAKER_02What?
SPEAKER_06Yeah, nobody in that.
SPEAKER_02You took the ass outside and tried to make meal before mama got home.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, yeah, that's true.
SPEAKER_04Now you know them girl. Listen here, though. I'm finna trip y'all out. You know, the girls used to sneak the boys in to be kissing and doing all the other shit. But when the boy snuck his homeboys in there, that's because they in there playing the games and shit, Street Fighter and shit. Yeah. We gotta we gotta hear for leave by two, three, baby. My mama's gonna be back home. She tells me I can't no cup. I'm on punishment. I can't be playing the game. Yeah, you know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_02And that's how you got your ass whooped. We couldn't play the game during the week. Hell no. You can't play no game during the week. There you go.
SPEAKER_04There you go. You get caught busting them rules. Your backside finna get bust up. Well, you fits to get with a stick. Your forehead finna get red. They finna put you two twelve years a slave, boy.
SPEAKER_03Well, you better not, boy, you better not dare go in there and turn that supernintendo on during the week.
SPEAKER_04You're gonna do you like Denzel on Glory, boy.
unknownYes.
SPEAKER_03Well, you fish to be talking in Hebrew. You're gonna be talking in Hebrew if you turn on that super nintendo during the week. But but but it better be something special. You gotta A on the A on a hard test or something. And then then and then then then the ass only gets 30 or 30 or 45 minutes or hour at the most. It was building that motherfucker all night.
SPEAKER_04Man, bro. I took look, bro. I took, I used to cut up so bad, bro. I never forget my mama in third grade and home Wesley Elementary, man, third grade, man. Um man, I was so bad. I used to just she got tired bro. And she didn't, you know, back then. So look, we the last generation. So just like he said with the with the with the you know, we the last generation, the last key kids. Yeah, but we the last also the last generation of the paddle of that of that paddle shit at school, yeah. Oh the paddle shit. Remember, nigga used to get paddle, but that was do they offer that shit still now? Hell no, boy. Hell no. That's what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_02You can't request it.
SPEAKER_04You can't request it, it's optional. They still got that, they still got that.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it's optional.
SPEAKER_04You got to find like a white, it must be HISD shit on it, bro. Cause that's when I was in H S which HISD. They used to let you paddle back in the day. So I ain't know they still got it.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, but we got an offer, yeah. My daughter, she uh we in the uh south fair. We in the south era.
SPEAKER_04They don't even offer no shit like that.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, they do. They offer to whoop your kid, yeah. That's optional, but you ain't fit to whoop my damn kid.
SPEAKER_04That's not just because I ain't never, yeah, I ain't never I ain't never even look at that question. But then mama no time.
SPEAKER_02You you skip that paperwork.
SPEAKER_04That's what I said. Yeah, I was me too. I signed at least a force.
SPEAKER_03But you gotta check yet. So I ain't checked no damn yet.
SPEAKER_02But but check this out like like like like uh with me having the son, I I I thought about it because you know, I I was like, well, but then I was like, nah, because I don't need another motherfucker chastising my child like that when I could do it myself, first off, and then I just don't want a random dandem. Yes, you know what I'm saying, because man, it ain't like when we was coming to school, like coming up in school, man. Like our our our principles talk to our parents, yeah. Our principal knew your mama and daddy, meetings, yeah, shit like that. Yeah, hey man, they don't do that no more, man. Well, in in other districts, they do, yeah. But HISD, oh no, man, that's a thing of the past, brother. You know, they rather zoom.
SPEAKER_00Zoom, yeah.
SPEAKER_02They don't want they don't want interaction. So, what you saying, they finna take the teachers out the classrooms? No, I'm just saying as far as meetings, oh yeah, meetings, teacher conferences and shit. Parenters, yeah, parent. Yeah, they're so parenting. Yeah, they they they rather they rather do it Zoom. Because one, most of the teachers now that they're they I mean they're getting a check, honestly, because and I get it though, because of the things that they're facing. See, us as parents, we have to understand what's going on too, man. The teachers they're uh getting uh reamed out, man. They got these kids coming in with all these different situations. You got 40 kids in one classroom and all got fucked up attitudes because you got your your uncle over here touching this girl, mama won't say nothing about you. Got this nigga over here, his dad got him up all night slanging dope for him.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02You dig what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_03You got the other kid, he got to work to because you know the daddy in there, and he got to help the mama pay the bills, yeah. So you got to help the mama on the light bill on rent.
SPEAKER_02That check go to the rent, okay. Well, how the how the light bill and the little extra shit you need, the uh uh uh uh Wi-Fi and shit like that.
SPEAKER_03That's why he in school, so he's staying up late, so he's sleeping in class, he grouchy because he got to be daddy and he got to be daddy to his little brother or sister.
SPEAKER_02So yeah, yeah, and this girl like going through it because she she can't say nothing because she gets it. If she says something, it's gonna it's gonna mess the family up.
SPEAKER_03Mess the family up, but the family know about it. But the family, but the family kind of know about it, but they're not gonna say nothing.
SPEAKER_02They're not gonna say nothing, they're gonna keep it, yeah.
SPEAKER_03They're gonna keep it from the route.
SPEAKER_02So if you say something, then why why are you stirring up the we we are the most we are the race that say the most secretive about pedophilia in the fucking nation, bro?
SPEAKER_04Damn, really. Why is that is that what that is? So it's the white folks that's getting reported then. They people telling them hey man because you're saying that this happening more in the black community, but they lead and shit like that in the state. Yeah, get a sea, yeah.
SPEAKER_03They scared to say it because they know if they say something, they don't want to break up the home or mess up the structure they got going on because the uncle could be staying there and helping out on the rent, but the mama knows if she says something to the uncle, that's gonna take on that's gonna that's that's gonna take out money from the house.
SPEAKER_00What you say you see what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02What does it come down to? Financial stability.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, financial stability. Yeah, big thing.
SPEAKER_02But because you know our community is lacking.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, we don't have financial because think about this. Let's just let's just keep it real. White folks, they get money, they get they invest with other people, they open up Walmarts, they you know, they open up, you know, the white couple white guys, Tim, Bob, and Alan. They're gonna put their money together and they're gonna do a tech group and they're gonna make billions of dollars and get their kids jobs and get generational wealth. What do niggas do when they make money? Niggas wanna buy cars, what you what you were saying earlier, DJ?
SPEAKER_04Niggas need to invest. No, they do the wrong things. You need to invest that money, yeah. You need to invest, man. They don't know how to do it. They will, but we weren't taught that, bro. That's the thing. That's the thing. We wasn't taught that these people got great grandfathers and grandfathers that own banks. We ain't you hey, I was saying earlier, we ain't man, where the where the grocery stores at, man? Where the banks at, man? It's only very few. Shout out to Big Boy. Uh, what's his name? Is that big boy out there in Atlanta? Uh uh uh with with the um big boy. Yeah, is that the one that the uh man mic, uh killer mic. Yeah, killer mic, yeah. Killer Mike, bro. Then opened up that that bank out there, bro. The Greenwood. The Greenwood, yeah. I've been again. I fool, I gotta count with them. I'm supporting, like, you know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_03I gotta do yeah. But the first thing we do, we get money, we get chains, we fisher get the car.
SPEAKER_04We're going to all the concerts. We gotta make up, we gotta make all the festivals, the Mardi Gras and the Murder Beaches and shit like that.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, but we're butting but we're not the best with them. I'm talking about the when we first got the money.
SPEAKER_04They gotta go three, four trips to Jamaica and and and Bahama and Cancun. They gotta do that. And then when they gotta get the yachts, what they're gonna do when the money run out. You know, gotta get the room service, gotta keep up with the friends, gotta keep up with the other friends.
SPEAKER_02That's the problem, though, not knowing financial literacy, because if you if you knew that off top, before you bought all of that shit, you would have invested in things to keep that money going where you can buy the gas, and if the motor and the generator go out in that yacht, you can buy that shit again because you have what bread steadily coming in multiple incomes.
SPEAKER_04Hey, go hey, go. They acting, listen to me, they acting like you speaking science fiction, bro. That's what they acting like.
SPEAKER_02Well, hey, to each his own man, because they acting like you speaking science fiction, bro. If you don't get it in that mind frame, you're stuck like Chuck.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03And then this is no what? Since we own that, you know, this is what I hate with this, you know, generation. Oh man, this is my hood, this is my block. You don't own that street. So how you gonna? I I I I this is why I want to know. Go. I never understood because I'm not a street guy. I'm you know, the closer I got to the being on in in uh being in police cars watching cops. That's a close I that's closer I ever been to jail and watching, you know, yeah, right. No, no, watching stuff like that. So my thing is why do these dudes that be in the streets or be in the in in the hood talking about this is my block, bro? That is the most ignorant shit as I heard as a 43-year-old black man. You don't own the block, the white folks own that stuff.
SPEAKER_02Did you know what though was crazy is though, bro? Back in the day, you could it that was our neighborhood, though. You know why? Because auntie stayed across the street, grandma was up at the end of the street, uncle was across the street. Yeah, you dig what I'm saying? Yeah, the families had motion because everybody had a house on that block.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Gotcha. Gotcha.
SPEAKER_02But they set it up to where we're gonna make it harder and harder, they gonna have to sell. You feel what I'm saying? They're gonna have to get assistance.
SPEAKER_03That's how they trap it.
SPEAKER_02Oh, oh, okay, then, all right, well, then, oh man, they man, Uncle had to sell his house, auntie just sold a house. They going to get one, they going into one of them high-rise communities, uh, you know, where you know they they good. But you're not good because that family structure has been chipped away. And you don't have no more man, remember we used you could go on different blocks, and what I'm saying, everybody you wouldn't, you ain't come on that block with no bullshit because you wouldn't make it to the other end.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, see, you know, I'm you feel what I'm saying? Yeah, I feel you, because you know, I'm 44, and I grew up in the time where you know, if you get in trouble, your uncle whooping your ass down the street, your cousin coming to your house to whoop your ass, your ain't gonna whoop your ass down the street, the whole neighborhood gonna whoop your ass. You see what I'm saying? Go that's that's the type of generation I come.
SPEAKER_02That's why kids are mama. If you buy a laden good enough, she's gonna whoop your ass. Yeah, take it to your mama, and then you're gonna get your ass whooped in front of her, too.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah. See, see, I I like I'm saying, like we're talking about the school stuff. I'm segue and going back to what we were saying about that. See, I come from the last generation when your mama will come up to the school with the house coat and the robe when you're fucking up in the class.
SPEAKER_02Straight clown you out.
SPEAKER_03Straight clown you. That's the see. That's the generation where I come from. And we don't we don't we don't have it like like I'm saying, like, we don't go back to you know our roots with you know with our family. You know, like I'm saying, I was uh talking to one of my cousins, like the family is not family no more, cuz we don't even get together like that. The only time when family get together, it's gonna be a bunch of screaming, hollering, and a competition. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and that's the same facts. You know, with with with with with infiltrated that corporate structure. So it would it, you know, so that's when uh it was uh it was shot out there that uh your career is bigger than family. But this is a lie that they told the minority and the and the white folk did the opposite. They kept their family structure, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, definitely, man. That's that's that's that that's the core of who they are family and community. Yes, family and community, and it's just done in the smoothest ways, but it's family and community.
SPEAKER_02But it but think about this this this is the gipper right here, though. We were the ones that started that shit, yeah. Of course.
SPEAKER_04Your shit was stolen.
SPEAKER_02You feel what I'm saying? Hey man, I don't know, man. It was they wanted segregation more than anything. Yeah, the reason being is because they don't tell you about all the major black communities that wasn't asking white boys for a damn thing.
SPEAKER_03They're not talking about the Black Wall Street. They try to take that they try to take that, they try to take that out of history.
SPEAKER_02I love it, brother. But it's way more communities than that.
SPEAKER_03Okay, see, that's all that's yeah, see, yeah, that's the only one I knew of. No, so I'm kind of getting into the subject.
SPEAKER_02I'm just saying it's way more than that. This is just the ones that they want to spreak on you and say, Oh, they they they were so outstanding. Kudos to them, give they they need a standing ovation when it's it was all through the nation. But they got mad and say, Well, wait, man, they ain't a they're not dependent on us. They're not asking us for anything. And well, hell, they they house look better than all because we are the original builder.
SPEAKER_03Yes, we all know that stuff on the earth. Black people came up with it, but they won't give us credit for it.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it goes with music. Yeah, I'll go there. They want to say Elvis Presley is the king of rock and roll, but really it was uh what's your boy's name? Chuck Barry. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Cadillac records. Yeah. He was the originator of the rock and roll stuff, but they want to give it to Elvis because he was the mainstream white boy with the blue eyes and the hair. I go, I'll I'll go in modern times where white folks were still stuff. Check this out. Think of the show Living Single.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Classic TV show, right?
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Classic, classic show in the black community. Guess what the white folks did and made a profit and came and stole the idea and this and and and and and it's this show, don't get me wrong, it's uh it's a good show, but they copied off the black folks. Friends. Think about it. Friends is the white folks' version of uh living single.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yes, oh definitely.
SPEAKER_03That's hard. That's hard. That's hard.
SPEAKER_04It is hard.
SPEAKER_02That that's facts.
SPEAKER_04That's facts. That's hard. No, I'm saying that's hard, though. That's a hard analogy that I didn't see, but it makes sense. Yes, it makes sense. It makes sense, it makes sense.
SPEAKER_02But you know, living single was a nice show, but it didn't resonate because it's plenty of uh of uh um look go shows man that were siphon man and and re revamp, you know what I'm saying? But look re-written. I'm gonna say this our culture, man.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00But look, it's facts.
SPEAKER_04But I want to say this a show like Living Single, yes, he's right when I think about it. But guess what? Most of us didn't grow up with that kind of lifestyle. Most of us wasn't in college, they was college educated, corporate educated people living in New York or wherever they was at, trying to make a living. Yeah, but it was and the way they were doing it down here. I know I wasn't in the living color. I knew it was on. I watched it, you know what I'm saying? They had some shows, but it didn't grab me like good times, it ain't grabbing like you know, family matters. You know, uh, I ain't really like the huxtables.
SPEAKER_03I said they was overrated in one of my podcasts. The huxtables. Yeah, I said it was my podcast. I didn't grow up, I couldn't I couldn't relate to that.
SPEAKER_02You know why? Because we didn't come across too many huxtable families. I knew that's what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_04Even with the North State, I didn't come across families like that.
SPEAKER_02My peoplehood growing up in in Los Angeles, you know, see, you know, my dad, he stayed in Baldwin Hill. Yeah, if anybody knew about LA like that, that's rich black Beverly Hills.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, they had a TV series on BT called Baldwin Hills. So so what you know I remember that. You remember that show Baldwin Hills? Yeah, they had a black, they had a TV show. It was a sitcom. Yeah, they had a reality TV show called Bottom Hills about the black, yeah. Go ahead, keep on going.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, Baldwin Hills, yeah, you feel what I'm saying? It it's and what's so crazy, man, is the fucking project right there. You oh you so you know where uh on on uh uh training day, yeah, with Israel Washington went in the in the in that project right there.
SPEAKER_03Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_02You talking at the end, yeah, talking about where he uh where he got where that's right around the corner from Baldwin Hills, man.
SPEAKER_03That's crazy. Okay, he he didn't drop the a damn gem on it. Say it again one more time.
SPEAKER_02That's right around the corner from Baldwin Hills.
SPEAKER_03So right around the corner, you got the hood, then you got black excellence.
SPEAKER_02That's that's that's that's crazy. Do you think 90210 would have that shit going on?
SPEAKER_03Right. I remember the 90210.
SPEAKER_02We speak in facts, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I remember Belly Hills 90, not 90210.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, Baldwin Hills man is is exactly black excellent.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, but see me to tell you the truth, I couldn't relate to the I couldn't relate to the college hubs because you know it was it it was it was a show before a time. Don't get me wrong, it's a classic, but to me, I couldn't, you know, I couldn't relate to it. Me, I can relate to Fresh Prince Bel Air, I can relate to the Jamie Foxx show. Let me tell you why I can relate to the Fresh Prince of Bel Air.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_03Let me tell you where I can relate to Fresh Prince Bel Air and I can relate to the Jamie Foxx show. So everybody knows I'm from. I was born in Conroe and I was raised in Willis. So my grandma, you know, the lady I, you know, rest in peace, she's really my auntie. She came and got me from the country. So I can relate to the Fresh Prince of Bel Air because I went from a small country town with one club to Houston, Texas. So that's why I can relate to, you know, the Fresh Prince of Bel Air. And I can relate to the Jamie Foxx show because I'm from a small country town. I came to Houston and I'm chasing my dreams. So that's why I can relate to those two shows.
SPEAKER_02The Huxley show, that's why but the French Prince of Bel Air is prime example of your kin folk with bread, and they okay, Will was what? He was in the inner city going through bullshit and his mama's sister got money. So what what happened? Hey man, take your ass out there to your auntie and uncle and see what what else is out there. They'll point, yeah.
SPEAKER_03So I that was crazy because my that that's why I can rape the Fresh Prince. That's one of my favorite TV shows because my she's really my auntie. I say my auntie, my uncle, and then I came a boy from a boy to a man there. So I can that's why I can relate to the TV show. So yeah, yeah, I that's that's that's crazy. Hey, go since you're with us, man. Tell us uh, you know, you was around screw and mo. Tell us, man, tell us uh uh crazy you got some stories for us on screw crazy DJ Screw or Crazy S U C moment.
SPEAKER_02I was bad about one last night with my nephew, right? So my nephew J-Way, you know, he came up in this shit with me, man. And so, you know, we was uh with Mo one night, and you know, we was all bullshitting around, you know, like we do and shit. And uh uh nephew was like, uh, yeah, man, you know what I'm saying? I'm gonna try some of that, you know, that drink. So Mo, Mo, he like, yeah, yeah, man, go on over here, you know, come on over here, bow gone and you know, get you a child of that drink. So Mo Drake, you know, motherfuckers don't know, like rarely did they drink drink with soda. Yeah. Oh, okay. You dig what I'm saying? Okay, so they real simple.
SPEAKER_03They real simple. Yeah, they real boss simples. Okay.
SPEAKER_02Hey the nigga had straight bar in a in in ice. Yeah, you feel what you say? So he looking, you know what I'm saying? He's gone. So nephew went and hit that cup, he thinking it's soda in the motherfucker, right? Okay, man, he turned that cup up, hit that cup, and almost drowned in that motherfucker.
SPEAKER_03Oh man. So what time did he wake up after that?
SPEAKER_02I know he was night night. Hey, that boy was night night, mate, but but hey, a whole bottle of like a whole bottle of melatonin, man. Hey, that that boy, uh, it was so funny because it came out his nose and everything, because he wasn't expecting it. And Mo say, hey, go, man, come get your nephew, bobby. He got in, he in here drowned him a cup. Oh man, we roll, we roll so hard, man. Like, man, like, because Mo, he was he man, he was always a good-spirited person, man.
SPEAKER_03Like, I can tell by the videos, yeah. I can tell by the videos.
SPEAKER_02Okay, you feel what I'm saying? So yeah, it really, it really uh uh was a a hurtful thing, man, when he passed because it was like, you know, he was he was just like uh, you know, the it just like Pat. Everybody wanted to be around him because he just had that he had that aura, man.
SPEAKER_03He had that aura. Some people got that aura, man. It's like some people people can gravitate to him, man. So you got some people like that, man. Yeah, RP, RP to Moe, and RP to Pat. Those one.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, man. RP to all them brothers, man, because uh pokey too, man.
SPEAKER_03RP to Pokey too.
SPEAKER_02Oh man, yeah, and and and and man, he that that's another good dude. That's why I say, and and like it's just crazy because for me, it's like been a horror role because what okay, screw left first, and then okay, so me and Watts was working on this thing called one Houston. Okay, uh, it me uh Watts um DJ2D and DJ Icy Hot from Street Military. Man, y'all come in with some boy office have a collaboration for real. We we we but it was bring the city together because Watts had said he told me, man, he was like, Oh man, tell everybody that uh my show is for the city and I'm not playing nobody else. And they thought Watts was playing. No, no, Watts wasn't playing, he was he was focused on the city. That's why, you know, like I'm like, damn man, before we can really get it jumping off, he passed. So like like man, that was because he was our only conduit to the radio. You feel what I'm saying? Because with him, see what motherfuckers didn't realize Watts was an executive, yeah, not just a DJ. So his power range man in a in high value because he can sit down at the table with the executive. See, that's what a lot of people don't they didn't know that about why. They just looked at him as a DJ. No, he was a record executive. That's why he got to do the things that he got to do. You feel what I'm saying? So, like it man, it's it's crazy because it just seemed like when when the motherfucker is coming together for the city and the community, shit happens. You feel what I'm saying? And it's like, damn, man, you you we not starting over, but that was a major blow. Because he was on the city. That's why we done the one Houston shit. Because it wasn't about no side shit. Watch ain't give a damn about no side, it was about the music and bringing the community together.
SPEAKER_03Gotcha, gotcha. So, so so let me so let me ask you this, goal, since we own the music, on the music tech for Houston, because like I said in one of my uh to go back to one of my interviews, I said Houston got, you know, too much talent and we should uh be able to come together, come together as one. What do you why do you think it this is this is what I don't like about the city? This is coming from a fan. This comes from a person that listens to, you know, rap music. I'm a hip-hop, you know, like a kind of I I wouldn't say hip hop historian, but you know, I'm gonna listen to music. I'm I do it for the culture. Why is it that a person can come from out of town and people go crazy and spend their last and spend their money and really act a fool and borrow money and get loans and spend the light bill money and spend rent they rent money, but you got talented artists here and you don't even support this show. Can you can you elaborate on that right now?
SPEAKER_02Well man my thoughts on that, man, is it's uh it's simple. You get more control in division than with togetherness, with unity. You know why? Because in division, you can have these niggas over here saying, Oh man, we ain't fucking with them niggas because we getting the money over here, so we don't need to fuck with y'all. You feel what I'm saying? But this is the the the separation that they do, it's all designed.
SPEAKER_04I'm gonna I'm gonna ask you this though, you know, what do you feel? And one thing I already picked up on you was was that you know, teaching these kids, influencing these kids in the right direction. But what is it gonna take to get these parents off their butts? Because we, you know, programmed too. They getting pro we these folk getting programmed. You got kids raising kids now, right? And you know, what is it? So it starts in the home, it starts in the home.
SPEAKER_02So now you're trying to get this is that that's a rabbit hole, right?
SPEAKER_04That's what I'm saying, though. But you gotta get them on the board. You feel what I'm saying? Because you gotta get the kids, you can't do something for yourself, like okay, you but don't tell you something, those programs do matter, and I'm gonna tell you, I have been in programs. I used to be in boys where I used to pass it when I was young at Will Avenue, you know what I'm saying? That taught me some things that I've carried with me from a young boy to a man, okay.
SPEAKER_02You know, the etiquette they taught me that's real, but check it out. Remember when you can you your mama could drop you off at the YMCA? Oh, yeah. Oh boys and girls club.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, let's go to this.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah. I remember those days, man.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I remember those days.
SPEAKER_02But snatched, yeah. The funding got snatched, but that was that was parts of making that made a lot of good fighters. Let me let me correct you on that, brother. The fucking fundage did not get snatched, it got uh uh it got directed in different directions.
SPEAKER_04So what happened when Trump came in and took all these rights away, bro? And he came in and canceled all these programs.
SPEAKER_02No, no, the programs weren't canceled, they were directed to who they wanted to direct them to.
SPEAKER_04So, what you think about them taking money out of the schools, bro, and then they trying to influence more for private schools, so that way you can have segregation. If you have private schools, then that means you can put the rules in place of who can attend your private institution. So you have these you had these you have these HISDs and shit where all the teachers are quitting because they can see the storm coming, but yeah, they can see the water receding and it hit they already broke down the school system already, yeah.
SPEAKER_02But it's getting different now, a long time ago.
SPEAKER_04They won't separate listen, y'all. They want segregated schools possibly with the fact that if you can do private, then that means you can, it's a private school. I make the rule.
SPEAKER_02It's segregated with inside the school system already.
SPEAKER_04Already, yeah, yeah, of course. Yeah, of course, yeah. But I'm saying that it's gonna be a known thing.
SPEAKER_02You got the you got the you got the Indian kids in their little niche, Pakistanians in their little niche, you got the Spanish kids in their little niche, you got, you know what I'm saying, the Jewish kids in their little niche, you got the white kids in there, and the black kids in there. The only two that interact with each other are the brown, the black and the brown.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, uh, yeah, a lot of times that is the case, but it's another case too that that that you know you get you get certain rhetorics, you get certain belief systems. It's a California Rhetoric flooding across the left side of the map to the right side of the map, and they just trying to put ideologies and conflicts that aren't you know normal in the regions that they're starting to approach in. You understand? I'm gonna take something. I'm gonna take some. I'm gonna say, I'm gonna say that this is real talk after hours. They're breeding Mexican, they bringing the Mexican Sereno Nortino shit from California down here and indoctrinating some of these folks, the Latino folks. I ain't saying that it's it's is is it's rampant, but you got the ones that got come down here with a mindset, and every time I meet one, I know who I can I can recognize who they are by the way they react.
SPEAKER_02I'm from LA. It's rare that Domesticans fuck with niggas. But what's all this about the climate then down south? Yeah, you feel what I'm saying? Now you got the you got your old Theos and and Theos, you know what I'm saying, that uh uh uh bring that shit from Mexico, right? And you know, they tell their kids, you know, what this and that, that and this, but that shit is wrong, man.
SPEAKER_05Right, right. Yeah, that shit wrong, bro.
SPEAKER_02You feel what I'm saying? So but in the in a in a in a nutshell, that shit is it don't fly down south because they know most of them know the true history. You feel me? And they kids not going for it because you know why? They had to come up in the black neighborhood. You're you had the motherfuckers that moved in the the the fifth wards and the the acres homes, the south parks, the you know, the third ward. You dig what I'm saying? So that's what it is, man. You got generations of black and brown growing up together, so you know, this shit, but I get you on that shit coming from the West, you know, but that shit not gonna fly down south, bro.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02It's not gonna happen, man, because I got I got my my my I got my Mexican brothers that will die for me and I will die for them.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, no man, let me tell y'all something that they that's on one line with me.
SPEAKER_02You feel what I'm saying? So you can't you can't shoot me that bullshit about we don't fuck with each other.
SPEAKER_04Oh no, no, wait, tell my time, time, time, time out. Hey, wait a minute, everybody. Blast off is the top dog to tell you that I know that that's the case. That I got one of my best partners, man, made great memories together. Man, he got my back, dog. My boy, I'm gonna shout out to my boy Will O, man. What's up, Willow? That's my dog. But anyway, um, I never said that. I was saying that that's what I'm used to. No, oh yeah. I'm talking to the people. Oh, oh yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I'm talking, yeah. Let me get that correct.
SPEAKER_04I'm talking to yeah, my bad.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, no, it's the yeah that this this that you know the climate of what they try to shoot out there, yeah. Facts, and it's it it that's the wrong shit to accept.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, nah, man. Look, I I I so what you're saying is 100% truth, and I got, man, I have loved ones in my family that are Latino, correct? Yeah, and so I I got all the love for them in the world, yeah. Like I tell people, I love them, but no, don't come hating on me, bro. When we supposed to be rocking together, that's what I be hating, like we supposed to be rocking together. I ain't saying we got a common enemy, but we never conflicted each other. We were never at war with each other, but we were at war with other people that get that was at war with the both of us, yeah. Correct. And that's all I'm saying is that, and it don't matter. I ain't trying to point no fingers and whatever, whatever it is, what it is. That's just how the world goes sometimes. Let's just get real with the situation. That's that's not how that went back in the day, bro. And it's people out here that know that this Texas shit, this shit play. Man, I go to man, you go anywhere. One of my favorite places to go is Mesico. I speak Spanish anyway, so I go out there and get me some some good old pollo asilo. You know what I'm saying? With the chicken, and man say, Y'all man, hey, listen, them chicken with them them beans they they grill that chicken, man. You ever been to one of them the Mexican barbecue spots where they they grill that chicken and you get you that half a chicken and get you the beans and the rice on the side? Shey man, don't take that away from me.
SPEAKER_02Is my turf, man? Yeah, I've I've been a hey man, I stayed down there in Brownsville.
SPEAKER_04Oh, yeah, you was in the valley, Mac Allen, all that shit.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. You feel what I'm saying? Um Mac Allen. I used to walk across right across to the border. You could go and go shop, go get jewelry, clothes, everything, and walk right back into Texas, mate.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, that's players. That's player. And no, hey, you ain't have all these different, you know, security guards just running through you through a 20-person screen. No, no, they didn't have none of that.
SPEAKER_03They might show your idea some once or something gone by to make it yeah, they may, yeah. That's it. Yeah, they may, yeah.
SPEAKER_04People going over there now for dental care.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah, you know, surgeries, BBL, it's not it's not safe for us, man. It's not safe for us, though.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, but that does the yeah, of course.
SPEAKER_02Not because we're black, because we're American, right?
SPEAKER_04That's right. Yeah, that's all Americans getting it right now. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, yeah. Really, I ain't even been seeing nobody really posting Mexico.
SPEAKER_02I really it's war on America from all these other countries, but we fucking warring with ourselves, yeah.
SPEAKER_03But check this out though. I'm about to hit y'all with this. What a conundrum. I know, I know a country that America's scared to go to war with.
SPEAKER_04Who I'ma name it, I'ma name it. China. Dow, yep, I was finna say that. Dallas, you used to see yeah, at least should have let me steal your child because I was on point with you, but I'm telling you, I was finna say China, yes, sir. Yeah, they they ain't China got boy. China been sitting, China. Do you know China ain't started no major world wars? Do you ever know that? Do you know that? Go China ain't started no major world wars, bro. Well, excuse me, world wars, bro.
SPEAKER_02China been sitting in the cut building because you know why they sit back and watch everything, remain the superpower, got their technology up, and they kept what y'all other motherfuckers doing. We're gonna take care of us, and whoever bring it, we got their ass.
SPEAKER_04Go check this out. Think about how much money China didn't save because they ain't gotta go to war and put it in a war chest. That's why your cities and your towns or a lot of these towns are not up to date because China is putting all they shit into their people, they ain't paying for no war. Yeah, they paying for uh security and building their arsenals and scientists and making AI bots and shit like that, but they not overseas bombing people and shit, paying that kind of money. No, they're not because you know they're not fucking with nobody.
SPEAKER_03So China had a technology.
SPEAKER_04China, that's why America respects because China, the America know China really to give us the run five dollars.
SPEAKER_02No, China is China's the one that got shit that they have the problem, though. The whole problem with America is that we're being puppeted to Israel by fucking uh uh Israel. Yeah, yeah. And and and and and these motherfuckers is is dancing in the minstrels, so yeah, you feel me? When these motherfuckers is is is they fucking wizard of ours in our ass.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, facts, facts.
SPEAKER_02You think you go up to motherfucking Emerald City, nigga, and you going to motherfucking me shanty town, yeah. All day all day, so it's all a delusion, deception. You feel what I'm saying, man? So it is what it is, man. Like I say, man, I got to get out of here, man. I love you, brothers. Yeah, man. I enjoyed this conversation, man.
SPEAKER_04Again, bro. Hey, but but but but but you know what, before you go, bro. Uh I just had a couple of more questions, bro, before you go. Okay, I won't ask you now. I'm asking all my guests this, bro. We're gonna go into your top five. I want you top five throwback gangster movies, bro. I want you or top five hood movies, top five hood movies.
SPEAKER_02Top five hood movies.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, he's asking this question. I forgot my answer.
SPEAKER_02Uh
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I did.
