He had a hidden game. He had a game that everybody thought everybody thinks he should have had.
SPEAKER_03But you know what? It is what it is.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, we're back. I don't know why. I think the timer, the timer should suppose I cut it off. Um, well, in two hours, but it it was less than two hours, so I don't know. I don't know what happened. But getting back into our segment that we was on, hold on. Segment two, because I might have to re-edit all of this, but I'm good for right now. Um okay, and Will, he's on here. All right, so everybody's back on here. So getting into the the second segment, the Bears and the Eagles. Um, Chicago walked into Philly and embarrassed them. Straight dominate in the trenches over 250 yards, punch you in the mouth, football, and Kelly Williams didn't need to be a superhero. He just kept the offense study. The Eagles got booed at home on national TV, and honestly, they deserve every bit of it. This wasn't a bad game. This was a this was a you might be soft game. Chicago, Chicago, they're coming. Chicago's nine and three right now. Um and I think they're in that battle with the Rams on the number one seed.
SPEAKER_03Hey, how's that bus working out for you, man?
SPEAKER_01What bus?
SPEAKER_03The bus. Kill Williams.
SPEAKER_01Oh, he still is okay. That's still that still hasn't shown me anything, and again, it goes to what we were just talking about: a coordinator. You got Ben Johnson who brought that defense in from Detroit, who brought that offense in from Detroit, and he has a quarterback that is a little better than what he had in Detroit. He ran the same offense in Detroit, he had the same personnel, he had everything. So it's working out because of the fact, and you heard what I said the rushing game.
SPEAKER_03Well, you don't have to beat the dust, man.
SPEAKER_01Okay, it's the running game that is helping them out. It's not Caleb Williams. Hell, I can put you behind Chicago line, and you can quarterback like like he's doing. So it's not that, it's the coordinator. Do you agree? Do any of y'all agree?
SPEAKER_02No.
SPEAKER_01Okay, well, I'm gonna go I'm gonna go a different way again.
SPEAKER_02Your Eagles were a team that everybody was riding last year. Right now, marketing directly to Chicago. One thing I'm gonna say that to kind of enlighten all of that, same thing with Jaden Daniel. If you notice the league stays high on your first and second draft picks of the league, they want to make sure those guys get the limelight that they deserve. Because pick them number one, pick number two, and then you work number three. Take you back to when Andrew Luck was selected, number one, no, two, and Robert Surfing III was number two, I think, or number one.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, he was number two.
SPEAKER_02Number two. Okay, as soon as he got hurt, boom, he was out out the pitch. Unfortunately, Andrew Luck kept getting concussions. Boom, he's out, so they jumped. I can't remember who was selected number three, but I'm only saying that right now, Caleb is keeping the focus on Chicago. So they're up and coming, and you gotta give them another year, just like they gave Washington another year until you get I'm gonna disagree with you.
SPEAKER_01I'm gonna disagree with you. And the reason why I'm gonna disagree with you is this reason, okay. This is the reason. What is what is getting ready to happen within the next, let's say, two to four years in Chicago? Okay, damn, you just hit the nail on the head.
SPEAKER_02Did I not say marketing? Did I not say marketing? I love you.
SPEAKER_01They have to they have to do what Washington has to do, they have to pay for that stadium. So, in order to pay for that stadium, what do they have to do? They gotta build that team up, not just the one person, that team up, so that way they can pay for that stadium. The same thing in Buffalo, Josh Allen and them, they have to pay for that new stadium, that that big windproof stadium that they just built in Buffalo that they're gonna be in next year. So when there's a new stadium that is always going to be built, they have to build that team up again, and we're gonna go back to this one last time, okay?
SPEAKER_03Come on, man, come on. This said the man, this said, the man is a good quarterback, man.
SPEAKER_00Yo, they just gonna do the same thing.
SPEAKER_03Thank you.
SPEAKER_02They did it, they they did it before the ship. The Rams had a new stadium. Yep, the owner's got stadiums. They t their team was in the main, you know, they were they were marketing for those teams so the owners can get repay, get their money back.
SPEAKER_01So now what's happening with the raiders though? Well, no, no, well, well, that's a different that's a what happened with the raiders is is they got that guy that's in the booth that's helping run that team. That's the problem with the Raiders.
SPEAKER_03Oh god, uh Tom Burney.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, this is a new approachment because, like I said, the son, he's not his father. He can't, he doesn't have the guys, the the the top owners or the stakeholders of a team. If you've been running your organization and your business, and then you decide to let your son or your best man take over, he's not you. He's not gonna keep it. No. So he is not, he's just a name drawer. So we we hit rock bottom after Davis moved that team back to Oakland.
SPEAKER_03I think I think Mark Davis needs to do the same thing he's doing for the Las Vegas, um, Las Vegas Aces is get people around him to run the organization run the day-to-day operations. Let's stop putting his hand to everything.
SPEAKER_02Um I agree. Throw away money. Throw away money. Our team right now is throw away money. That's why I call them my high school football team playing in the NFL. Yeah, because they can lose on they can make money by losing as opposed to becoming the team to beat.
SPEAKER_03You said I can go get paid for from the you say I can go and try and get get picked up and get paid if it's all away money.
SPEAKER_02That's what the players were doing with the commanders, formerly rich. They come to Washington, get paid, but they wasn't winning, they wasn't going away.
SPEAKER_01Let's let's let's let's let's let's get into it a little bit more like this, okay? Collins is right to a certain extent, and then the certain extent of why was they moved? So they got moved out of California to go to Vegas. Why they Vegas helps California helps Vegas, and Vegas helps California economy-wise. That's why they're the only state that doesn't need federal funding for anything because they have it right there. So basically, that is their bank. The Raiders being in Las Vegas is the bank. We need to use y'all, use that stadium as a bank to help funnel everything into California as well as well as California doing their thing. Um and getting back to what I was saying about why everybody about Chicago and why Chicago is doing good and stuff, Chicago's biggest problem that they're going to have is the fact that they're building a new stadium, just like Buffalo, they're not putting a top on it. Why they don't want the Super Bowl there, they don't want that there. All they want is a new kind of stadium to bring money, Mike.
SPEAKER_02Mike, Chicago has always been an outdoor stadium. So traditionally, that's why I say certain northern teams you keep outdoors because that's that's what they're known for. They don't want to play football indoors, and that's what people, huh?
SPEAKER_01Well, that's the same with Washington. Washington's always been an outdoor team, but they're doing it because that that the Super Bowl brings the revenue to just not just the team, but also bring revenue to the city and the state. Chicago has had that taste when the Bulls was there. The Bulls was their their their thing, their championship thing, and everything else like that. That's that's that's what that was. The Bears is there so that they can say, hey, we want to become the next Pittsburgh Stillers. We just want to win games, and who cares about the put how far we go inside the playoffs? Who cares that that Green Bay is going to run that division for years on? Okay, they don't want that. All they want is the thing is this, and I'm going to continue to say they want the house that Caleb built, they want the house that Jaden built, they want the house that that that when Denver gets that new stadium that Bo Nick's built, but they're not gonna get the house that Lamar built right now.
SPEAKER_02It's not about Lamar, it's about marketing regional that's part of market. Spoke of it, you spoke of it, and it seems like it seems like the younger folks, young investors, they don't want traditional winning teams, they want every everybody to get their hands into the pot, and just every year is gonna have a different team. Every two years, maybe you're gonna have a different team going for the championship. People don't want the traditional dominance of one particular organization, yes.
SPEAKER_01So it's back to my agree, and I agree, and that's what that's why they did what they did with um, that's why they did what they did with um G's MT's. I forgot. Oh my gosh, it's at the tip of my tongue, but I I totally I totally just dropped just fumbled the ball on that one, but yeah, I agree. I agree. Um, and so what was your take on the Black Friday game? I want to hear everybody's take on that.
SPEAKER_03I didn't watch the Black Friday game. I was just surprised that Chicago beat the Eagles, but but then again, I wasn't surprised because Caleb Williams.
SPEAKER_01Well, no, it wasn't Caleb Williams. You you you didn't hear me coming into the segment, they rushed for over 250 yards. But but okay, so the ground game, this is what killed them. They and will mean you talked about this, they ate the edge of that defense up.
SPEAKER_03They never I get that, I get that. But what I'm saying, um I'll put this to you. You can rush for over 250 yards and still lose the game because your quarterback is turning the ball over like it's like it's free.
SPEAKER_01He had one touchdown, and he only had like 100 and I want to say 20 yards, 130 yards, something like that.
SPEAKER_03A lot of things, but you can still lose the game though with turnovers, but they just didn't turn the ball over.
SPEAKER_01They didn't turn the ball over like that, right? Right, and Philly and Philly does it because as they say with Philly, Philly, what what Dennis say? Rain, sleep, or snow, Philly trained to go. Well, they was trained to go, but they ain't win.
SPEAKER_03So think I think let me say this, uh, and I'm looking, I'm looking at it from a different way. Okay, the teams lost, yay, hey, what whatever they lost, right? Everybody is getting ready to start positioning themselves for the playoff and getting the players in line where they went in or out of the game. So all these losses were just minor setbacks. Baltimore is not worried about the loss they stuff against Cincinnati. It's just a game. It's just a game. Why? Why because we gotta take it again. No, we think about Baltimore, we think about Baltimore and Cincinnati. What happens? Cincinnati comes here and beat us here, and we go to Cincinnati, beat them there. We split in the last two years. We always split with Cincinnati. Look at the remainder of your schedule. But the remainder. I get that, but we got you got tells you we got the steel of the schedule.
SPEAKER_01The same way you said when I said y'all got Cincinnati, oh, we're gonna beat the brakes off, then we're gonna beat the okay. Look, look, they they they they should have got locked up for what they did, okay? They went into a bank and they robbed the bank, but they went into CNT bank and they robbed the bank, they should have went to jail.
SPEAKER_03It happened, every it happened every year. We always lose at Cincinnati. We also we always lose the MT bank and go to go to Cincinnati and beat them in Cincinnati. We lost last year at home to Cincinnati.
SPEAKER_01I'm gonna say this. I'm gonna do so. I'm gonna say this. I'm gonna say Baltimore has a 25% chance of making the playoffs. Okay, that's fair.
SPEAKER_03Let me say this. Let me say this to you. It's like it's like the Lions, it's like the the Lions and the Den would play have their prey. They're playing around with their prey until they get tired of it, and then they just go for the kill and say, you know what? Let me just go ahead and just kill all y'all and just show you who we really are. And don't you ever think that we're anything less than what we show you?
SPEAKER_01I hope y'all, hey, hey, look, I hope that wasn't that wasn't what y'all was thinking uh uh um Thanksgiving night because y'all got no no what did I hear? Oh, we're undefeated on Thanksgiving, or we will remain undefeated. We didn't know what guess what yeah, y'all y'all got a thing called humble pie. Y'all have that thing where they know y'all can be beat at any given Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday, or Saturday.
SPEAKER_03It might you know what?
SPEAKER_02Let me jump in here for a minute. I didn't see yesterday's game until the last the fourth quarter, the three minutes, three and a half minutes of the game left. But what I saw, I was not pleased with because Philly could have won that game. Yeah, and I'm gonna say it this way because once again, whoever's calling the plays, you're not playing to win, you're just playing to be competitive.
SPEAKER_04Yep, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Philly did not have to go for two points after they scored because you had time enough and you had three timeouts before the two-minute warning. When these teams don't don't play to win, it just throws up a big question mark. Some teams can afford another loss. That's what I tell my wife. Some teams can afford to lose a game because they're gonna make it up later on in the season.
SPEAKER_01That's easy to look at because it comes comes back to marketing, and I agree, and like I said, a lot of teams can't make a lot of teams can't make the um oh shit. A lot of teams can't make hello, hello, yeah. A lot of teams can't make um let me see. A lot of teams can't make themselves get into positions to make the suit the the to get to the point where hey, we can get into the playoffs, we're gonna do this, we're gonna do that. Baltimore is one of them where it's not gonna happen. You know what?
SPEAKER_02They're gonna upset other teams that are trying to get in the playoffs. That's the part you have to see when you when you like I told you, Mike, don't get so locked in on the playoffs like niggas. You got about four more games, then you really start because teams are gonna start upsetting other teams that you wouldn't even think will win.
SPEAKER_01But they you got five games, you got a bunch of games left.
SPEAKER_04Oh, so Cynthia, how are you doing last night?
SPEAKER_01You got five games left, and with them five games that you got left, with them five games you got left, you gotta determine on them five games that's left, you know, how how how can we put ourselves in position to win? How can we put ourselves in position to you know become that that that that team where we can not only get in and not be one and done, but we can get in and make no it, and that's not gonna happen. And like I told them, they're gonna set it up when Aaron Rodgers go out looking good, not looking bad.
SPEAKER_02Well, if it's about Aaron Rodgers, then we have to respect that might come.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. Um, so that's basically how it's gonna come out. Now, now I want to I I I do believe this that Philly is is going to collapse. You're you're you're seeing you're seeing the collapse of Philly right now. And I think Philly is going to collapse to the point where where they're they're they're they're not going to they're they're gonna make the playoffs, but they're they made back into the playoffs.
SPEAKER_04Except what was the class?
SPEAKER_01But Philly is at that is at that that thing where I think Philly they're gonna collapse. But now what we're gonna do is we're gonna get into the picks and we're gonna do something different this this go around. I'm gonna start with Will picks, my picks, and then I'm gonna go with everybody else's picks. So Will got the dolphins over the Saints, he got the Texans over the Colts, he got the Falcons over the Jets, he got the Browns over the 49ers. I don't know. That's a joke. Um, he got the Rams over the Panthers, he got Jacksonville over the Buccaneers, he got Seattle over the Vikings, he got the Bills over the Steelers, he got the Chargers over the Raiders, he got the Broncos over the Commanders, and he got the Patriots over the Giants. Interesting, is all I'm gonna say. So with me, I got the Dolphins over the Saints, I got the Colts over the Texans, I got I can't try, I can't trust the Falcons because of Kirk Cousins. He may give it up, but Kirk may have a bounce back game. I'm gonna go with the Falcons over the Jets. I'm gonna go with the 49ers over the Browns. He's drunk. Will I think Will's drunk and delusional thinking Shador Sanders is gonna beat the 49ers? That's not gonna happen. I got the um Rams over the Panthers. I have the Jaguars over the Titans. I got the coat the Buccaneers beating the Cardinals, I got the Seahawks beating the Vikings, I got this I want to touch this game. I don't know. I'm gonna go back to that one. And I got the Chargers beating the Raiders, upset pick. I got the commanders beating the Broncos. That's my upset pick, and I got the Patriots winning, and I'm gonna tell you why I say it's an upset pick. It ain't because of the fact. That they're playing at home, it ain't because of this, it ain't because of that. Denver's run defense is horrible. And with everybody's coming back for Washington on the offensive side, they're gonna worry about stopping the run instead of playing Terry and Debo like they should.
SPEAKER_02Okay, and that's a commander fan, Mike. How are you gonna look at that as an upset? He did say no, he's a commander fan, regardless.
SPEAKER_01You supposed to root for that team, regardless of the no, not true, not true, not true. If it if a and belinda, I even tell you this, I've root I have I have picked the cowboys several times. It ain't it ain't it's the thing of being a sports, uh uh a person that watches sports and sports, you know. And we talk about I'm not will, I don't, I don't I'm not will we will never pick against the ravens. The ravens to him walk on water, they're the best thing next to Apple Sauce. And guess what? He gets disappointed every year after he paints his car purple, he paints himself purple, and and that purple and black, and they do the whole city purple, and y'all get disappointed every year. I'm a realist dude, and that's why I say the upset is going to be the the commanders is going to beat the broncos, it's an upset, okay? JD Cass Jaden Daniels ain't playing, Marcus Mariota's playing, Jaden Daniels coming back for the Minnesota game.
SPEAKER_03So that's awesome.
SPEAKER_00When is Daniels coming back?
SPEAKER_01He's not coming back, he's not coming back. Oh Lord, yeah, he's coming back for the Minnesota gang. Yeah, everybody else is back that was injured, they're all back. Turning everybody else is back.
SPEAKER_03So so to say that that's enough said is to say you don't expect your team to win, but you you they may win. Thank you.
SPEAKER_01I don't, and I had so so and I picked against listen, I picked against them because I picked I picked against them when they played Green Bay.
SPEAKER_03I never picked against the I had I was thinking I picked against the Ravens all season long. Because because your heart is so intuitive. No, it's no point I will always pick this because that's that's my that's the team, that's my team. Thank you. You just put my point. You just put my point. It's not it's not Philip.
SPEAKER_01It's like last week when I told you that they was gonna be that they was gonna lose to Cincinnati. And instead of you saying, Mike, you right, I think I'm gonna rob with Cincinnati.
SPEAKER_03I'm a Ravens fan, I'm gonna rob with the Ravens, I'm gonna do this. It's like hey, I'm gonna ride a die, so it doesn't matter what.
SPEAKER_00I had my boys, same thing. I'ma always root for them. I don't care what they do.
SPEAKER_03You wanna lose.
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna ride a die.
SPEAKER_03I'm gonna ride again, and I'm gonna go. You can't if you think against your team, you can't be a rider die, homie.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna ride a die, but I'm also a real he trying to get us confused. No, let's move on.
SPEAKER_01So so so so so so. I'm gonna I'm gonna do this. If you look at a lot of these sports casters like Scott Van Pelt and all of them, okay, yeah, they know, okay. My team, my my my whisper caller is with my team, my heart is with my team, but I know if they're playing a formable opponent like Denver, who has eight wins, nine wins, something like that, and is in position to make who basically has a guaranteed winning season, it's something to a thing of saying, okay, I'm not gonna be dumb, I'm not gonna be stupid, I'm going to be smart and say, Okay, yeah, this team is going to beat them. But I'm also saying this is going to be an upset because of the fact Denver is supposed to be the team that's going to go in there and supposed to beat them. It's going to be an upset.
SPEAKER_03But then you still got then you still have the thing.
SPEAKER_01If you're in the favorite, what does that make?
SPEAKER_03But then you still have some, but then you still have some people that stick with stick with their team behind when lose a drink.
SPEAKER_02Likewise, with me. Listen, I know my my know my team sucks, but I'm a Raider fan.
SPEAKER_01Did you or did you did you or did you not just hear me say Washington is the underdogs? So if they're the underdogs, and I pick the underdogs, that makes it what an upset. Upset. Thank you.
SPEAKER_03Move on, move on, move on, mate. Move on, move on.
SPEAKER_01What you mean, move on? Denver's the favorite.
SPEAKER_03I move on to the next thing. I just go to the next thing, man. Okay, you just what you're fair weather fan comes to the commanders. Come on.
SPEAKER_01No, I'm not. No, I'm not. How how that's just like this? That's just like this, okay. Baltimore was favored against Cincinnati. I went with the upset. And the upset was Cincinnati was gonna beat Baltimore. Baltimore was the favorites. If you picking a team that like, like for instance, I'm gonna go back to yours, okay? I'm gonna go back to yours. The the the the the Cleveland Browns over the 49ers. That's uh that's an upset if Cleveland wins, Cleveland the home team. If Cleveland wins chimed in because they're the underdogs.
SPEAKER_03Somebody else chimed in. What somebody else chimed in?
SPEAKER_01No, ain't nobody else chimed in. I'm just making yeah, but now that's that's that's that's that's that's my picks. I'm going to I said mine now. I'm going to my in-laws. So I'm gonna go with I'm gonna go with college first. He picked the dolphins over the Saints. He picked the he picking the upset, the Texans over the Coats. He's picking the Falcons over the Jets. He's picking the 49ers over the Browns, he's picking the Rams over the Panthers, he's picking another upset, Tennessee over the Jaguars, the Buccaneers over the Cardinals, the Seahawks over the Vikings, the Steelers over the Bills. That'll be an upset. The Raiders over the Chargers, the Broncos over the Commanders, and the Giants over the Patriots. Oh wow, you really hey God is really where is the Macy's Parade held at?
SPEAKER_02New York. New York? Where's Macy's Parade? Thanksgiving parade held at New York. New York. Okay, so what goes on in New York? People are there to spend money and hotels. So you have to look at what's gonna keep them in a good spirit. That's why the Giants are gonna upset New England. They already got a baseball rivalry, but we're gonna get past that. So I'm going with the Giants.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Hey, ain't nothing wrong with that. Now we're going with Belinda's. She got the Dolphins over the everybody don't pick the Dolphins over the Saints. That's crazy. The Dolphins over the Saints. She got the Colts over uh the Falcons. She got the Browns over the 49ers. She got the Rams over the Panthers. She got the Titans over the Jaguars. She got the Cardinals over the Buccaneers. She got the Seahawks over the um Vikings. She got the Bills over the Steelers. She got the Chargers over the Raiders. She got the Broncos over Washington. And she got the Patriots over the Giants. Now keep in mind that she did do something that none of us did last week. She went undefeated. So that's fair. She did something that nobody has done in a long time. She went undefeated on all her picks. So with that being said, and the Black Friday game over with every week else over with, I just want to say that's a wrap for today's episode of the Regular Guys Podcast. I'm your host, Mike Bowser, and also my co-host, but sometimes he'd be drinking, or I don't know, with his pick, William Young. You said you were coming back through it. Oh, this between the Steelers and the Bills. I am gonna go with the Steelers over the Bills. I think, I think, I think it is I think the running game is going to expose the Bills. Um, and Will knows this, it depends on which bill team you get, but their defense is suspect. And I think I think the the the I think Aaron Ross is gonna do enough where he's gonna pull the victory out. And if by me saying that, it's gonna probably be like 24-21. Yeah, okay. I think I think their running game is is gonna come around and get it because of the fact again the Bills, the the Bills are uh uh are who they are. And then with and then with Baltimore you losing, somebody got to take control of that division, and it ain't gonna be the Ravens. But so yeah, so like I said, it was great. We broke down the Thanksgiving Day action, the Black Friday games, week 12 chaos, and we did our week 13 pitch. Um, I've enjoyed the show. I hope everybody else enjoyed the show. Um, everybody put their things in, and we will see y'all next week. Enjoy the rest of y'all time off and enjoy your Sunday games that's gonna be coming around the corner. Until then, I'll see y'all in the next episode. Appreciate y'all. Watch up for the race watch out for the hoop
