What's up with the what's ups? Welcome back to another episode of Prayers and Blessings the Podcast with Faith Flavor and Focus Feeds the Soul. I'm your host, Mark Tyson. And today we have a good one. But before we get into today's message, today's information, we must bless, we have to bless the platform. Heavenly Father, thank you for another day, another beautiful day. Thank you for the opportunity to speak to someone, allow my voice to fall on someone's ears today. May these words encourage them to move forward. May these words bless those that are less fortunate to find the strength to move on to become the person that you have created them to be. In your name's sake we pray. Amen. Yo, today, this message is heavy, right? It's heavy because I like to live in the moment. I like to speak things that's working directly for me that could possibly benefit someone else. I want to speak about preparation. Preparation, preparation, preparation. I've been taking notes, I've been writing some things down, some thoughts that have been going over mine. Because this week I've been a little frustrated with myself, right? Let me tell you why. God has prepared me for some things. The big homie has been putting a light in my life, and it was, he was prepping me up and preparing me for some of my future endeavors that I didn't know was coming. If I knew or I understood, maybe I would have prepped up myself. But there's a lot of opportunities that I've prayed for, but I haven't prepared for. And I know I ain't alone on this one. There's a lot of opportunities that I prayed for, but I wasn't prepared for. I wasn't preparing for nothing. I had nothing, I had nothing in my mental. I wasn't preparing for the day that I got released. I just wanted to be home. For what? No master plan, no plan. I just wanted to be free. And I know that in life we ask for opportunities. We ask for things, we pray for things, but we don't prepare for them. We ask God to open doors. We want somebody to notice us. We want that phone call. We want a chance. But here's the question. If the opportunity showed up tomorrow, would you be ready for it? Would you be ready for the opportunity if it showed up tomorrow? Yeah, I got my notes over here. I'm I'm I'm uh this was this was this was because this week I've been trying to get this, I've been trying to get the speech ready. I did a speech two weeks ago at a youth conference, and somebody heard some things I said, and they was intrigued by it. So they called me to speak again at a scholar um to come speak for some kids that's receiving scholarship. And I've been going back and forth with it, what I should say, and how I should say it, and I'm writing things down and I'm re-erasing and I'm not looking at the opportunity presented itself, but are you ready? You see what I'm saying? So that's what that's what helped me prepare this episode today. That's what helped me because I know in life when we go through things, we're not going through it alone. There's somebody else out there going through it as well. So I figured let me sit down and talk about this one and work my way through this one. And as I work my way through this one, I'm bound to help somebody else. I'm bound to sell somebody else gonna hear this and say, you know what? I need to be prepared. I need to start prepping up. I need to start getting myself in order so when this opportunity presents itself, I can become who I supposed to be when I walk through the door. Who you gonna become when you walk through the door? Preparation creates opportunities that excuses never will. See, you get the opportunity, but then you have an excuse, excuse why you ain't ready. But you've been praying for it. You got excuses why you ain't never gonna make a power move, but you want the opportunity. That this right, we think that the blessing is the opportunity. The blessing is all that space in between time before the opportunity presents itself. That blessing is all that air right there. All that air. You got the opportunity to prepare. That's all the blessing you got right there. Then when opportunities show up, you show out. The blessing was in the waiting. The blessing was in the preparation. You sit back and pray for the job, but was you preparing for the interview? You was waiting for the job, but you did you prepare for the interview? They called you, say, yeah, we got the job available. Are you are you ready? You praying for the opportunity, but what are you doing while you wait? When that door finally opens, this is not the time to start getting ready. Stay ready so you ain't gotta get ready. I'm just saying. Something, right? Something, something, something came across my mind today. And and it honestly, when when the big homie be working, right, when I be quiet, I be chilling, things come across my mind, and things be I'll go through things in my head, and they be they blow my mind because they be they be mind blowers, right? So I'm at work and I'm prepping up this fish, right? And something crossed my mind, something said, the same trucks, right, who deliver food at the hospital, be the same people who deliver foods to the jails. Be the same people who deliver foods to the schools. So the jail get the food from the same delivery company, schools get the food from the same delivery company, and the hospitals get the food from the same delivery company. What's different? The preparation. The preparation on how they prepare it before you get it. When jail, they just smack it together, give it to you. At the hospital, they gotta be a little bit more, less salt, you know what I'm saying? A little bit more keen with what they're doing. Schools, they gotta put it together, you know, for the kids so they can like it and eat it. Then you then you have to think about the five-star restaurant. They could they get the fish too. Hamburger, beef, ground beef, all that. It's the preparation. It's the it's the calm before the storm. The storm could be beautiful too. You can sit outside in the rain and wash away some stairs, wash away your tears. But that preparation is all about what you're doing before you get there. In life, you gotta prepare yourself for your blessings. If you're living a foul life, right, then you're preparing yourself for some weary days. If you're living a good life, then you're preparing yourself for some sunshine days, right? Even though, to be honest with you, we're gonna keep it all the way live. Good things happen to bad people, and bad things happen to good people. But what I'm saying is, when you prepare yourself for anything that's coming your way, especially when you are in the midst of becoming, right? When you are trying to become something, when you have a destination, when you're pointing in the right direction, when you when you sit down and say, I'm gonna be a lawyer, right? And you tell yourself you're gonna read over these books and you're gonna take these SATs, you're gonna have step when you're studying, or you're gonna step in there and you're gonna prep to make sure that you can be not just a lawyer, but the best lawyer you can be. You know what I'm saying? You ain't trying to just be a lawyer or say that I become a lawyer. You trying to make sure that when you become a lawyer, you top tear. It's a big difference. It's a big difference. Don't underestimate what you're building in the moment. See, all of this came to me because, like I said, I was frustrated. I was like, yo, um, I was frustrated because I know that it's in my heart to be A1, whatever I put my foot foot forth in. And I kept saying to myself, I don't want to get on this stage and do a lot of talking, but ain't saying nothing. So I'm taking my time, right? And little did I know that even though I'm erasing and I'm throwing away and I'm coming up, I'm preparing to give my I'm preparing in the moment. You know what I'm saying? This is the blessing. The blessing is right here. The blessing is the moment before the opportunity. They already called me and said, Come through and speak. We like your voice, we like what you said, we like the way you, you know, that you be direct. The lady already told me we was in a car riding, and my son said, Mom, hire him. I like what he said, I like what he was projecting. I felt it. Now, I have to prepare myself because I already know. It's like you have a you have a star or someone that you that's good, right? And just about anything he said come out of his mouth is gonna be good. He can't do nothing wrong in your eyes. So all I really gotta do is show up. But what would I look like showing up and be halfway? That ain't even who I am, that's not me. So the blessing to me is to prepare to the top level that I can. So when I get there and I feed them this information, they get a blessing out of that. You see how you see how that working? See how it works hand in hand? I was put in a position to give them something, to feed them some information, and give them some key notes that they can carry on to their life. And then in the moment, I got all these days to prepare. That's the blessing. We have all these days to prepare for your opportunity because more than likely, nine times out of ten, your opportunity will knock. And you will get up and answer that door. But are you ready? Are you ready? Are you standing there just wishing and waiting and hoping and pleading for this opportunity? And when they come, are you ready? Well, you got one, let me get my shoes on, let's get my shirt on, let me put my hat on, let me get this. Oh, I ain't got to the mall, I gotta get something else. What you was doing all that time you was waiting. What you asking God for, you need to start preparing for. What you asking God for, you need to start preparing for. Don't just pray for the doors open, prepare yourself to walk through it. It's so easy to want. It's so easy to fall on your knees and pray. And then get up. And don't be prepared. And this young lady, my um co-worker, her his his granddaughter, she went and started cleaning out her garage, right? She had she gotta take a trip to Italy. She's an upcoming chef. She's like 22, right? They like what she's doing and the things and all that. So she started cleaning out her garage. Her grandfather asked her, why are you cleaning out your garage? She said, I'm cleaning out my garage for my car. She said, What car? You ain't got no car? She said, No, I'm getting me a car when I get back. But she was cleaning up, preparing for her blessing before she even left. She was getting ready. So when an opportunity presented itself for her to get a car, she ain't had to get ready, she was already ready. I mean, we all have to step into what it is that life is gonna offer us. We all want some things out of life. We all pray for some things, we want some things for our children, um, we want some things for our parents, we want some things for ourselves. But are you preparing for for the opportunities? You want your kids to be the best they could be when they become adults. But are you are you preparing them for that now? What kind of seeds are you planting in their heads when the opportunity present themselves to your children that they're ready for what you instilled in them? The blessing comes into preparation. Sometimes you gotta study when ain't nobody watching. You ever work on something so hard and you wonder, man, is this ever gonna happen? I just, these things, these are questions, and these are things that I'm putting out there to the atmosphere because I know that there's somebody out there who'll be living like this, who's living in this moment, who wants something and they waiting on it. And they like as soon as it comes, I'm ready. They want this big dream house, they want this big fast car. You haven't even learned how to take care of what you have already. So when you get this big whatever it is that you want in these opportunities, how you gonna handle them? Who are you? Who are you becoming? Because the opportunity is gonna present itself. Every chance is good, I'm telling you. I I know this for s I know this one thing for certain, two things for sure. Anything you pray for is gonna come to you. That's for sure. And for certain the beauty about this conversation, right, is I'm putting this out there, but I'm getting something out of this too. You feel me? I'm getting something out of this too. I'm learning to stay prepared and stay ready, and I feel good about it because, like I said, this week was a long, stressful, frustrated week because I was fighting and pulling, tugging where about the best for me. And I want the best for the kids that's gonna receive this word. So the blessing is in the preparation, like I said before. I think that um each and every one of y'all out there in Cyberland, y'all need to prepare yourself, man, for every blessing, for everything that you're praying for. Because the opportunity is gonna present itself. I just want you to be ready. I just want you to take this time and be ready, man. I want you to prepare yourself. I want you to prepare your family, I want you to prepare your kids. You know what I'm saying? So when the opportunity uh presents itself, you can soar. You know what I mean? You really could take advantage of the opportunity and be happy. Because a lot of times we get that opportunity and we kick ourselves in the butt because we look back on things and we say, if I only woulda, I shoulda, coulda. Prime example, like I just said, that that that that talk that I did a week ago at the conference, they enjoyed it. But when I got down off of the stage, I said to myself, I could have done, two, and three. I could have added a little bit of this, I could have added a little bit of that because I prepared, but I could have prepared more. I could have prepped up a little bit more. I could have put a little bit more into it because you're only gonna get out of it what you put in it. You're only gonna get out of it what you put in it. I'm I I'm I'm I enjoy prayers and blessing the podcast. I enjoy prayers and blessing the podcast because I say something that I know that can feed somebody. It's faith, flavor, and focus. We feeding the soul. I got some more interviews coming up. I got some uh I'm I'm I'm so happy to be living in the moment. I want y'all to live in the moment, man. I want y'all to get your moment and grasp it or hold on tight to it and prepare for your opportunity so when it knocks, you can knock kick the door down. You know what I'm saying? I want you to kick the door down. I can't wait to go talk to these uh these kids they're receiving this scholarship. I can't wait to help them put some fire up under them and tell them some things that's gonna help them so help them become better lawyers, doctors, engineers. Let them know that they are somebody and they are seen. Because sometimes they sometimes, you know, people put a lot of work into things and they don't think they be being seen. They overlook the fact that they seen. I'm gonna make sure they're seen that day. I'm gonna make sure that they get their applause. I'm gonna make sure they get that good pat on the back, that boost of encouragement encouragement to keep pushing forward. I'm happy for them because I see myself and them and the things that I was missing. I didn't get a chance to get the proper guidance and all that, to see that college was the thing, and you know you can do some other things outside of that, and you can meet some people who mean something to you, and to look at them and see them doing something, and to be able to uh uh somebody set a day to the side for them to get them more guidance. Man, I'm gonna take advantage of this opportunity to make sure that I'll be a part of them going forward. It's praise and blessings, baby. I pray for this and I'm receiving my blessings. I'm gonna thanking y'all for tuning in to praise and blessings podcast on Spotify, Apple Music, iHeartRadio. See, I'm building. And then understand this. I was building and didn't even realize I was building. God was preparing me. But now that I see it, and now that I can feel it, and now that I know what's going on, y'all better watch out. I'm saving lives. I'm coming for the youth, for the adults, anybody that need that voice of motivation, and inspiration to push them forward, I'm here for that. I'm doing my research, I'm studying, I'm coming through. Because I'm giving them what I didn't get. Same way I'm giving my children a father that I didn't have. I'm giving somebody else some guidance and some inspiration and some know-how that I didn't have because I know with it how much further you can go in life. How much you can obtain. With just a little bit of knowledge, a little bit of information, a little bit of direction, a little bit of prayer, it goes a long way. I thank y'all for tuning in to Prayers and Blessings Podcast, but Faith, Flavor, and Focus Feeds the Soul. Remember, hug somebody and tell them you love them. And they just might hug you back and tell you they love you. I'm just saying, I'll let your boy.
