Are you plugged in? This is John Merrill Kirkman with Walkin' with the Savior Podcast Daily Episode. Think about a phone with a dead battery. It still looks like a phone. It still has the design, the screen, the potential to do a lot of things. But without power, it just sits there. It can't text, it can't call, it can't function the way it was meant to. Now plug it in. Same phone, same design, same abilities, but now it comes alive. Because it's connected to a source of power. That's a simple way to understand what Paul is teaching in Philippians 4 13. I can do all things through Christ, which strengtheneth me. Maybe we should say, I can do all things through Christ, which powereth me. Paul is not saying I can do anything I imagine on my own. He's saying, When I am connected to Christ, I receive strength and power to do what he asks of me. This connects with what Jesus teaches in John 15, verse 5. Without me you can do nothing. That that's delete, delete, delete. That can sound strong at first, but it's actually freeing. It means we are never meant to rely on our own limited battery. We were meant to stay connected to a greater source of strength and power. So what does that look like in real life? It might be facing something hard at school or at work and choosing integrity when it would be easier not to. It might be trying again after failure. It might be forgiving someone when it's difficult. On your own, those things can feel overwhelming. But connected to Christ, strength shows up in ways you didn't have before. Philippians 4 13, I can do all things through Christ, who strengtheneth me, isn't a promise that everything gets easy. It's a promise that you will never be asked to do something alone. So the real question isn't, am I strong enough? It's am I staying connected? Because when you are connected to Christ, you don't just survive hard things. You grow through them. You power through them, and you become stronger than you were before. Thanks for checking out Walking with the Savior Podcast daily.
