Look and live. There's something really powerful in these verses that connects to what we go through every day. The people of Israel were on a tough journey, no doubt. They got impatient, started complaining, focusing on what they didn't have instead of remembering everything God had already done for them. And that frustrated, discouraged, negative state, they ended up in a real trouble. Fiery snakes showed up. Pain followed. There were real consequences for their negativity. But here's the surprising part. God didn't take away the problems right away. Instead he gave them a simple way to be healed. A simple way out of the problem. Just look and live. Look and live. That was it. No long process, just look. And yet, as we learn, a lot of people didn't look. Not because they couldn't, but because they wouldn't. It sounded too easy, too simple. They just didn't think it would work. And so they missed out. How often do we find ourselves bitten? By discouragement, fear, doubt, regret, mistakes, sorrow, sadness. And just like them, we sometimes look everywhere except to the real source of healing. If you could be healed by just looking, would you do it right away? And that's the invitation for us. When life feels heavy, look to him. When you feel unworthy, look to him. When you feel overwhelmed, look to him. Do you feel not good enough? Look to him. Do you feel like a failure? Look to him. Do you feel like there's no hope? Look to him. So today, whatever you're facing, don't overthink it. Look under Christ, doubt not, fear not. Don't wait. Just look and live.
