What if one of the greatest battles you'll ever face is simply remembering who you really are?

In this inspiring Walking With the Savior Daily episode, John Merrill Kirkman shares powerful teachings from Elaine Dalton and reminds us that our identity is not defined by the world, our mistakes, or our circumstances. We are sons and daughters of God with a divine heritage, a royal birthright, and a purpose that was prepared long before we came to earth.

Through a memorable story about the son of a king who refused to compromise his identity, this episode challenges us to stand firm in our faith, resist discouragement, and remember who we truly are. When we see ourselves the way God sees us, everything changes. The world may try to distract, discourage, and define you—but your divine inheritance remains unchanged.

Remember who you are. Remember whose you are. And remember that you were born for something greater.

Remember who you are. This is John Merrill Kirkman with Walking with the Savior Podcast Daily Episode. One of my all-time favorite talks is by Elaine Dalton entitled Remember Who You Are. Link in the notes below. Now, this talk was addressed to the young women in a conference for the sisters. But let me read this talk or excerpts of the top, and I'm going to change the pronouns to address both the young men and the young women. Here's the quote: We are sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father. He loves us and we love Him. The Lord loves you, and I know you love Him. We will continue to talk of Christ, to rejoice in Christ, that each of us will know to what source we may look for remission of our sins. And yes, we will continue to stand firm, no matter what storms may range around us, because we know and testify that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that we must build our foundation, a foundation whereon if we built, we cannot fall. The Lord's counsel to Joshua is his counsel to you today. Be strong and of a good courage. Be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed, for the Lord thy God is with thee. You are not alone. You can rely on the strength of the Lord. You are young women and young men of great faith. You brought your faith with you when you came to the earth. In the premordal realms, you exhibited exceeding faith and good works. You fought with your testimony and faith to defend the plan that was presented by God. You knew the plan was good, and you knew the Savior would do what he said he would do because you knew him. You were choice spirits who were reserved to come forth in the fullness of time to take part in the laying of the foundation of this great work. And now you are here to do what you have been reserved and prepared to do. No wonder Satan has increased his intensity of his attacks on your identity and virtue. Because if you can be discouraged, distracted, delayed, or disqualified, he wins. Remember who you are. You are elect. You are daughters and sons of God. You cannot be a generation of youth who are content, content to fit in. You must have the courage to stand out, to arise and shine forth. I've always loved the story of the son of King Louis XIV of France, because he had an unshakable knowledge of his identity. As a young man, he was kidnapped by evil men who dethroned his father, the king. These men knew that if they could destroy him morally, he would not be heir to the throne. For six months they subjected him to every vile thing life had to offer, and yet he never yielded under pressure. This puzzled his captors, and after doing everything they could think of, they asked him why he had such great moral strength. His simple reply was, I cannot do what you ask, for I was born to be a king. Like the king's son, each of you has inherited a royal birthright. Each of you has a divine heritage. You are literally the royal sons and daughters of our Father in heaven. Each of you was born to be a queen or a king. Young women, young men, look into the mirror of eternity. Remember who you are. See yourself as our Heavenly Father sees you. You are elect. You are of a noble birth. Don't compromise your divine inheritance. You were born to be a queen. Or you were born to be a king. Remember, you are daughters and sons of our Heavenly Father, and he loves you. Thanks for checking out Walking with the Savior Podcast daily.
