Have you ever heard of the guy who walked out on a stage and said, Who wants this $20 bill? Everybody raised their hand. I do. Then he crumpled it up. Who wants the $20 bill? He proclaimed, I do, says the audience. He throws it on the ground. Who wants it now? I do, says the audience. Then he steps on it, squishes it with his foot, and says, Who wants it now? And the audience yells back, I do. And then he picks it up and he spits on it and says, Who wants it now? And everyone raised their hand and said, I do. Everyone wanted the $20 bill. The interesting thing is, no matter what he did to that bill, its value never changed. It got wrinkled, it got dirty, it got stepped on, it got spit on. But its worth stayed the same. Many of us believe a lie that our mistakes reduce our worth, that our failures, that our sins, that our shortcomings somehow reduce our worth in the eyes of God. But heaven has never confused the condition of you with your worth. Your value was long established before your latest failures. How great is the soul in the eyes of God! Our worth is infinite because it is tied to the price that Christ paid for each of us. And he gave an infinite atonement for you and for me, telling us that no matter what condition we are in, we are still of infinite worth. Jesus loves you, my friend. Jesus knows you, my friend. And nothing you have done ever changes that worth. I'm reminded of that time I was in prison as a teacher, okay? I left that afternoon. I entered and left that afternoon. We were sitting in a classroom of, say, 15 young women, uh, adult women, and we were going around talking about what was on their mind, and there was one lady who was sitting there kind of hard, back in her chair, like this, and she was like, and I went around to each of the women, and they shared something, and finally I came to her and I said, What's on your mind? And she said this line. I just want to know if God will ever love me again. Another lazy, uh another lady in the prison, right there at the table, raised her hand and said, He never stopped loving you, my friend. And that's the message I want to leave with you today. God has never stopped loving you. So stop thinking that your sin, your mistake, your flaws, even your addictions have somehow reduced the love of God. They have not, they will not, and they never will. Your future is bright when you walk with Christ.
