Psalms 23 is one of the most recognized scriptures in all of scripture. Why? Because it reminds us of who Jesus Christ is. Psalms 23, the Lord is my shepherd. I shall not want. That line is appeared in many movies and many speeches. A shepherd doesn't simply point the way, he stays with the sheep. He leads them, he protects them, he searches for them when they wander. He knows each one by name. Maybe today you feel uncertain about the future. Just remember, your shepherd is leading you one step at a time. You don't have to see the entire path. Just stay close to him. I know up ahead is darkness or fog, and you can't see through the mist. But just take the next step. Psalms 23. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures, leadeth me besides the still waters. The Savior doesn't just want you to survive. He wants to give you rest. Rest with him. Connection with him. In a world full of noise, hurry, and anxiety, he invites you to come to him and find that stillness. In other words, turn to him, look to him, think of him. Spend a few quiet moments today thinking about him and let him calm your heart. Psalms 23. He restoreth my soul. What beautiful words. Jesus in the business of restoration. If you're sinned, he can forgive you. If you're wounded, he can heal you. If you become discouraged, he can strengthen you. No matter what has happened, he can restore what feels broken. Next quote from Psalms 23. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of the death, I will fear no evil, for thou art with me. Notice the promise isn't that we'll avoid valleys. It's that we won't walk through them alone. Whatever you're facing today, the Savior walks beside you. His presence is greater than your fear. And the Psalm ends with this beautiful message. Quote, surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life. End quote. As you walk with Jesus Christ, you don't walk toward uncertainty. You walk with the shepherd, whose goodness, mercy, and love never leave you. Today, as you go about your day, simply remember this truth. The shepherd is with you.
