Hi there and welcome back to the Jays with M podcast. This is a combined episode as there was no Cubs series episode this the past week. This it will be a double whammy for the Cubs in Houston as when I was in Chicago uh the hotel where I was staying at the Wi-Fi didn't work, and every time I went to film it, my mom kept talking. So filming it went very unsuccessfully. So here we are now. We're gonna not do as deep of a dive as parts of it will not be included because it is a double episode. Kicking it off with uh game one, we lost 16-2. This one I don't wanna like I know the hitters did not have a good game, and that's something we talk about a lot. But this one was on Gosman, and like the bleeding didn't stop. It started off with what I believe should have been an unearned run on a ball that should have been caught by Sanchez that allowed two runs to score, but like Gosman didn't let the bleeding stop. Um yeah, that double should not have been a double, it should have been a cop ball. Like that was totally misplayed. Then he allowed another two walks to load the bases, got a strikeout, okay, and then there was a grand slam. Then there was another single, single, single. At the end of that inning, we were down seven runs. Like it was seven-nething at the end of the first. I was like, what the hell, Gosman? Like, I wasn't in Chicago yet, I didn't go to this game. I was like making my way down that day. But frankly, coming from who is supposed to be one of our two best aces, this is ridiculous. This is the a horrible start, and should not have happened. He he needs to pitch better, and I hate to like rip Gaussman apart like that because he's been one of our most solid guys halfway through the season. This this is the this should not have happened. Especially that grand slam, he should not have thrown that slider there. Or Kirkball, one of the two, it's one of his pitches. I I can't Gaussman like this. If this continues, I'm gonna lose my mind because your offense is struggling, and now you did a pitch like this, screw off. Like legitimately every day that goes by, I feel like when stuff like this happens, you're begging to be traded, or there is going to be moves at the deadline that us fans do not want to see. Arguably though, he went back out and pitched the bottom of the second, gave up a single strikeout, line out, double strikeout, and then he was done. He did two innings in a lot of seven runs. I wish the bleeding stopped there. Well, on the top of the set third though, there was a Himena's double and a spur single. We scored our run. Woo-hoo! Um, yeah. Like it just did not stop. It was error, like after error on us. Like, if we look at the pitching line, Fisher did well, did one inning, uh allowed one hit, one walk, but uh didn't allow a run. Nance did pretty damn good, 1.1 innings, and allowed no hits, no runs, no walks, no strikeouts. Little was back up for one singular day and got sent right back down after this performance. One inning, two hits, four runs, all four were earned, three walks, one strikeout. Little got sent right back down. I personally think that was his last chance, and I do not want to see him back up in the majors. Uh Spencer Miles also pitched in this game. He did one uh 0.2 of an inning and uh allowed one hit, one walk. Whatever, not bad. Rogers did 0.2, allowed three hits, five runs, not one of those was earned. I honestly wasn't even watching the game at this point. I don't know what the hell happened and the um like that allowed those five runs to score off Rogers. But like I don't crazy. Yeah, it was the bottom of the seventh line out single, force out, fielding air by Davis, ground okay, single walk, triple, single. I don't know how any of these were not earned. I honestly don't understand it. My guess is misplays out in the field, but like fuck. It's oh my god, this game was a piss-off. I was pissed. Oh, and the way we scored that second run, ironically, was George Springer. In the top of the six, we hit a home run. When it was seven to two at that point, it was not 16 yet. I have no words. Gosman needs to be like uh Sanchez needs to learn how to play in the outfield. Frankly, he he's the worst defender I think I've seen out there all year. Him and Pinango pissed me the hell off. I cannot watch them play defense. It's like my like um irritation of the day. I can't do it. And then like it just kept bleeding from there, and nothing stopped. There's air after air, and I couldn't handle it. Game two and better though. We won. I don't can't believe we won this game. Honestly, I could not believe we won it. This was the game I attended, and we came back starting it off first inning, a three up three down, classic Toronto Blue Jays, top of the order. Can't I'm done. I'm so done with this thing. I'm kidding. Um, bottom of the first, this was Corbin pitching this day. It was uh strikeout, pop-out, single, fly out. Not bad. We're thinking he's gonna do maybe pretty good. Top of the second, three up three down.

I'm so okay. Bottom of the second, single, single home run. I at this point, I'm like, oh great, we're losing two in a row to the Cubs. I was a doubter, and I will not deny that. I was doubting. I I'm very frustrated by Corbin and watching him pitch his last couple starts, and this one was another one that I was deeply frustrated by. Uh, top of the third, three up, three down. I'm like, I feel like every time I say that, we're not even surprised anymore. Bottom of the third, um, lineup, walk, single, pop-up, strikeout. Corbin was lifted after that end of the third. He was done, he did three innings. Top of the fourth, three up, three down. We've been shocked. No, we are not shocked. Bottom of the fourth, uh, strikeout, fly out, Swanson double, Armstrong locked, uh, uh, Horner walks, and then uh Suzuki flies out. This was Estrada who pitched that inning. Who got activated in place for little, took his spot as um when he got hurt down, when he got sent down because he was on the major league kind of roster, he went on RIL and out there, so when he came back, we could put him back in back in the major. So something like that. I don't remember exactly what his rules like that. He did 2.1 innings and he did pretty damn good. Did not allow a run. Did allow a couple hits, but nothing crazy. And a walk. Uh alright. Yeah, top of the sixth, we had a Jimena single, and a Milestraw single, and then a fly out, and then Nathan Lucas ground into a double play. The top of the sixth was when I felt like it was our best opportunity to score and come back in this game, and I was disappointed but not surprised that we couldn't do anything. Bottom of the sixth inning. This was um oh my god. Who's pitching? Why can I not remember who's pitching now? And it's in front of me, and I can't find it. I lost my notes, guys. This is a disaster. The whole team's a disaster. That's why my podcast is one. My cat's gonna throw up in the background too. That's lovely. This is Flu Hardy at this point. Hoffmann pitched one of the clean innings. This is Mr. Flu Hardy. No way, that does not make sense. Oh, Estrada. No, this was Estrada still. Sorry, I'm in the wrong order. Bottom of the six is still a strata. Um, fly out, ground out, walk, two-run, home run bar, I'm sure. Now we're down five-nothing. And I'm really feeling doubtful here. Just Delfield, got a ground out. He pitched um a total of 2.1 innings. That was the last inning he pitched. Just getting up that two-run shot. Um, Jeff Hoffman came in, followed suit with um there was a field in the error, ground out hit by a pitch, walk, and strike it. There was a double play in there. Alright, top of the eighth inning. This is where it came to fucking gather for our Blue Jays for a one-on-one day only, and then they went back from being the shitters. Milestraw walked, Springer singles, Kirk came into the game who's not in the starting lineup. Singles to left center field, bases are not loaded with nobody out. Uh I cannot oh Pinango came in to pitch run for him. Uh Vladimir Guerrero singles, nobody out still, and now it's five to one. Woo-hoo-hoo, coming back. Wait, no, I skipped. Wait, one second. Hold on. I skipped a full ending here. Jesus. Oh my god. Please ignore that. I lied. It's actually that one I always said that would have been five-four. In the top of the seventh, because I skipped ahead. Disastrous. This is such a disaster. Oh my god, every time. Anyways, moving on. Uh, in the top of the seventh, uh, Okamoto was hit uh Vladi hit a single. Okamoto was hit by a pitch, my favorite, as y'all know and love. Dalton Varsho, homework to right field through on shot. Five three cubs. This is room positive. And the positive continues as I was saying, when the bases are loaded with nobody out in the bottom of the eighth. Vladdy singles, and it's now five to four. This is when I could feel the comeback could be happening. Valence Bella strikes out. I also realized I read this wrong again. When uh Kirk singled, Miles Draw scored. So it was tied. Vladdy tied the game. I see this is what I mean. I'm a disaster and the team's a disaster. It's a joint force, and I'm just not very good at the whole podcasting yet. Gotta write my notes better and not lose the order of them. Um our Lord and Savior Kazimu Okamoto hit a home run. Eight to five Blue Jays that come back. I was shocked. I I could not believe he hit the ball out. Barcia strikes out, Davis flies out. I don't care. Five runs and four hits. Absolutely incredible. They were showing signs of hope, but the hope died the next day. Not quite the next day. It was two days. Um bottom of the eighth inning, walk single, single. Base is now loaded. This was Flu Hardy. Flu Hardy did not Varlan came in. Varlan came in like a demon looking for a six out. I remember we were getting griefed by a couple uh Chicago fans. There's a bunch of us Jay's fans all sitting together, like, oh, like you brought him into a line, like, oh no. Just you watch. There's a reason he's coming in. Like six outs is not too much for this kid. There was a force out run score. It was charged to fluhardy. Strikeout, fly out, fucking demon by Varland. He's our demon. Top of the ninth, three up, three down, bottom of the ninth. Pop-out, there was an error uh by Louie. Actually, ironically, it's uh give me as a guy out. Strikeout ground out Jays went eight, two, six. Because of that ground ball that came in on the uh in the bottom of the eighth inning. Absolutely fucking demon. Pitching showed up. Yes, there was a little bit of ups and downs from Corbin and only went three innings yet again, which um he's pitching tomorrow. If he goes to three innings tomorrow, well, I guess today when this podcast is released, I'm gonna lose my shit. And you guys will watch a crash out in um the Texas series podcast episode. There is going to be one already. I am filming this after game one, and you guys will know that you guys know the game one results, so you guys know exactly how I feel, but I will not mention them on here. Uh, game three did not get played. They have postponed game they postponed it game three to the rain, and it's such a piss-off because it barely rained until like four o'clock. It was lightly like lightly spitting, because um, but yeah, it's been postponed to August 6th, so we will have a one day. We will have like a literally a one-game podcast, which will be like probably 15 minutes. But moving on to the Astro series that went oh, it started off so well and then fell apart. It was disastrous. It wasn't disastrous, but it fell apart, was my point. Anyways, game one. This was Cece, who was supposed to pitch on Sunday in Chicago. Top of the first single walk, little get a little wild here, strikeout, single run sc uh penis scores. Uh walk, the bases are now loaded, and he got that double play to get out of it, which is what we know Cease can do. He was not happy with his pitch count. We all know that, but he was like, we're all happy he could get out of this. Bottom the first strikeout, fly out, single, single, bar show struck out. I was a little frustrated with Bar show here. Little frustrated, but it's okay. I know a lot of people posted a lot of nasty things online, and I still keep seeing it, and I just have to I have to bite my tongue not to reply to some of the stuff I read on Twitter. I've honestly started like removing and blocking people because I cannot take their negative energy, and I'm just trying to enjoy my baseball team. I know they're losing and doing bad, but I I've started to block and unadd people who I do not want to see on my feed because I can't take the stuff they're saying about these players, especially Vladdy, because it is not helping. I I don't think it's helping us as a fan base or a team, and I don't think it's healthy. I primarily now use Twitter or X as it's called for the lineup and for movie news. And even then, like the movie news I've been reading, I don't like, and I have been like off the app because I literally go in there to look at like the uh Jay's admin tweets, that's it. So yeah. Uh bottom of the second, our Lord and Savior, Kazuma Okamoto, Homer's to tie the game. That one. Oh, bless me. Sorry, guys. Apologies. Uh ground out, ground out, hit by pitch, single strikeout. This is what kind of ticks me off. So everybody was bashing Barsh Varsho in this game. For like striking out, but like Lucas does not get that treatment, which I don't get because Varsho's doing very well right now, and I don't get the people's issue with him. Top of the third by C three up, three down. Absolutely incredible. Did great there to get right back in the game. Bottom of the third, uh, strikeout, ground out, walk by Varsho, walk by Okamoto, Sanchez hit by a pitch, bases are now loaded, Clementins into a four-so. Like, I I know like Clement uh we'll talk about like the All-Stars, but we know he's going to the All-Star game. We knew by his amount of votes um before they even announced it. If we're going to like shit talk some of these players and like how they're performing, you got to do it to all of them. Like, I know Vladdy, Var uh, Vladdy, Varsha, Springer, Lucas would have been torn apart for Granny, and like, but nothing happened for Clemente. And I know he's been one of our best hitters this season. But I think if we're going to insult the entire team, you gotta do it to the entire team and not just a few guys. And I don't agree with the bashing online. I honestly think a lot of it needs to stop. And I feel like the more we do it, the less players are gonna want to come to Toronto if that's how we're treating them. Top of the fourth by C's uh strikeout call uh called out on strikes pop out. Something incredible. Caes was locked in after the first, like after the first, he was fine. Bottom of the fourth, single walk, uh sacrifice bunch air bases are now loaded. Vladigamir uh Vladdy hits a sack fly. Now two to one Blue Jay's absolutely great. Like to see that. Um Kirk flies out uh Volsha flyed out. This one, I'm not even kidding. Like, if you watch this clip of Artha's flight, he just missed hitting it out. Like, just like um the announcers broke it down. Like, had he had the bat I think it was like a little bit lower or something, he would have hit it like he would have been on in the bases, which it sucks, especially when you know that. Top of the fifth, Cease is still pitching, strike out, flat eye out, ground out. Incredible, absolutely incredible. Okay and yeah, so top of the six, these comes back out for the beginning of the inning, strikeout, walk, line out, single, game is now tied, and then a ground out, which the third out would come by Fisher. Fisher came in. I love Fisher, he's such a good pitcher. Bottom of the sixth inning, strikeout, strikeout, ground out. Top three in the order, which everyone hates. Everyone hates the entire lineup. I don't think I read anything good on the team anymore. And I I know I have my opinions, I know there is issues, but I've I've kind of stated to like some of my like close family, like how what I feel about this and all that. Top of the seventh, three up, three down by our boy Fisher. Incredible. Bottom of the seventh. Kurt Grant's out, Varsha singles, Okamoto doubles, Milestra Sackfly. Ernie Clement walks, Tamina Strikes Out. It's all good. Top of the eighth, uh, which was our boy Rogers. Is there another little eighth dude? Uh, single single ground out double play. Walk force out. Three then. Beautiful. Not our unscored, which is actually one. Bottom of the eighth inning, Springer singles, Nathan Lucas singles, uh, Guerrero singles, basers are now loaded, nobody out. Um, Alejandro Sack Fly, four to two Blue Jays, and then Varsho Grind into a double play, which is very unlike him. You don't see too many double plays come off his bat, which it would kind of suck. Top of the ninth, our boy Louie Barling comes in. Walk. He was a little wild for that. Like that at bat. Double play. An absolutely incredible double play by our future All-Stark Ernie Clement. It was an incredible video. I highly recommend looking it up if you do want to watch it. Um, it's from the Houston game on Monday. Highly recommend wanting to watch it. And then a strikeout attend the game. Absolutely great start to the series, right? We won four to two. Next two games should go well. We're building momentum coming out of the cup series. That's what you think, right? Right? No. No, it is not. What happened? Tuesday. So Bieber did get activated from the I. He started Tuesday. It it fell apart. I don't even know like how to describe the Houston series other than a disaster. Which is the whole this whole half season, because we're at the halfway mark. Um, as of I believe this middle game of the Astra series, we hit 81. I don't know anymore. Or we are hitting 81. It's one of the two. We either just played our we either just played game 81 or we're playing game 81. I can't remember now. So, anyways, this scene didn't start horrid. Uh, double fly out, strikeout, single. Well, two base scores, whatever. Only down by one. Nothing crazy. That's how I look at this. This one wasn't nothing crazy to start. Uh, Springer strikes out, bottom of the first, Grail flies out, Sanchez single, Okamoto walk, Brandon's Vela walks. This is the one Bar Show got really ripped a part of online was he struck out with the bases loaded. I I I read some pretty nasty tweets and I did not reply. And then uh I'll see what happens later on in this game. I should I wanted to reply and be like, you can't you can't complain about that now. I know we could be up, but like, no. No. Uh also between the game Sunday and Mondays, we did get a new player from the Diamondbacks for like cash consideration. So Penango had been sent down. Uh, he did play in this game. It was one of those, like had he not been called up by a certain date, he got a free agency and a bunch of stuff like that. Top of the second for Bieber, three up, three down. Good job. Bottom second, Luis Areas, I believe is how you say his name. Uh single. I saw a lot of people tweet that he's like, oh well, had Varsho not struck out, we would end up three to one. You don't know that. We we don't know that, and that's how I personally feel about that. You don't know if that kid would have come up with a hit like that in the first. And I hate when people turn it on on like one ball player. Like our issues are not all on one guy. And I know I'm a huge Varsho defender, and I know he's had his issues this season, but the whole team has had their issues, and I really think we need to stop making excuses for shirting guys and blaming other guys more. Like, I know a lot of the blame's on Vladdy, and I know it's on Springer and Lucas and Varsho, but like I think there still needs to be some blame on Clement some days, and I I do not want to destroy any of this team, and I know a lot of people um like will not agree with that opinion. But I'm like, if you're going to bash one player, you gotta bash them all. Like Caleb does, Caleb will rip the team apart at one point randomly during the game, and I fucking love it. I find it hilarious. Um Jimenez did hit a double here. Springer lined out, gray aligned out. Can't score. Classic, can't score. Um, top of the third for Bieber, single ground out, double. Double play. He got out of it. Absolutely incredible. Bottom of the third, three up, three down. Top of the fourth. This was where it kind of went wrong for Bieber and he didn't get out of it. Um, he gave up three straight home runs. One to uh Yanar Diaz, Cam Smith, and then Tyler. Taylor Chamel. Chamel. Um somebody else came in. Yeah, so then one of our other, like they did lift Bieber at this point. Got the second out, and then Nance came in, which Nance gave me a heart attack. You up a single, single. We intentionally walked Alvarez, and then we got that fly out to end it. Bottom of the fourth, far show doubles. I saw a lot of people comment. Oh, why couldn't you do that in the first? I think I'm gonna keep on following more people. This is gonna go so well. I'm gonna like lose like unfollow half the people online or block half the people on Twitter who I can't take negative energy from anymore. Um, Louis Areas in his first career game with the Blue Jays, it's a two-run home run. Now it's only four to two. We're right back in this place. Um, Miles draw singles, Jimenez pops out, Springer strikes out, body strikes out. Um, top of the fifth, um, which would be our guy, Nance. Again, Nance pitched the fifth. Flyout, ground out, strike out. Nance has actually been doing very well recently, and I'm really happy for him. I really like to see when guys are succeeding like that. Uh, bottom of the fifth, ground out, Okamoto walks, Brennan's Villa lines out, Varso doubles to deep uh to deep right field, Lure is it strikes out. I know he's coming up with the hits there. Um top of the four six, my bad. Um uh flyout, strike out, ground out. Uh should have been flu already. Yeah, it was our boy flu flu already already had a better time that game. Bottom of the six, fly out, ground out, single by George, single by Vladdy, and then a ground out. This is where I mean, like, yeah, you can put the blame on a couple players for not coming up in key moments, but there's been bass runners this game, and it like they're not coming up with the hits that they should. And I do have a couple players I um like I wish would come up bigger, especially Vladdy and Springer, but I just wish the whole team would work together like a team like they did last year. They're not, and that's one of the problems I think they're having. Uh top of the seventh, which was our I don't even know. I'm so confused. Okay, yeah, this would have been partly Miles, partly Hoffman. Three up, three down by those two. Absolutely incredible job. Y'all, y'all ready for my rant here? I'm gonna go in another one. This whole episode of this podcast is gonna be ranting about how people think their feelings should be in her. Alright, bottom of seventh, Okamoto Home uh singles. Brandon's Villow pops up, Dalton Farrester Homer's Trick Hill. That's a two-run shot. Game is now tied. You know what? Say what you want about him, but he's coming up with these big kids. He came up in Chicago to get us on the board and start the comeback in that inning. Like, I know people hate him, and I I I can't. I don't understand how you can hate a guy who's one of the only guys hitting. He went three for four this game. Like, you gotta give the man some credit to where it's due. You gotta give all the gu all the guys who are hitting during the game some credit where they're due. And I know guys are also coming back slow. I know Kirk's being slow coming back. Sanchez hasn't been doing much lately, Pinango wasn't doing much before he got sent down. Springer's been a little hot lately. Like, they're going to come, and I hope to god it was gonna happen in this series. And it just, I'm gonna explain in a second, it falls apart here. Game is tied, and uh top of the eighth. There was a couple hits, people came in. This is when Hoffman came in and got out of it. Great job of them. I think I don't even know. I get so confused with the box scores and stuff. I gotta make start making my own properly and not using the ones I get off the internet. Bottom of the eighth inning, flyout spring and walks. Vladi reaches on an error, which it was crazy. Excuse me, by Nate Pearson, the farmer blue jays. Uh Sanchez strikes out Kazokamoto singles. Uh George and Vladibou score on that single. Six to four blue jays. Looking all good, right? It's looking good. Rogers comes in because Varlan's done. Because he's pitched over, he's thrown over 40 pitches in the last four days. Uh, aside because of the uh spray now. Single, single, pop out single, no run scores. Error on catcher's interference, so a run comes in because the bases are loaded. This, like, I love Valentrela, but I had an issue with this catcher interference, uh, because um that's one that's one run away from the tying run, and it makes the situation a lot harder. Sackfly. Had Valentuela not like the game, it still would have been 5-6 had there not been that catching with the sackfly, but then there was a ground out. I honestly believe we still would have won there had there not been that. And I know it's also on like Rogers for not locating well because they're hitting everything, but I still think that catcher's interference should not have happened. Bottom of the ninth, three up, three down. Arshaw had like a fucking nice swing on that ball in that lineup, and I was so frustrated. Um, top of the 10th, 3 up, 3 down, incredible job by Fisher there. Bottom of the 10th, sacrifice bunch, uh Nathan Lucas is on third. Springer grounds out of Bloody Flies out. Cannot fucking score the winning round, boys. Come on. This is when okay, you know what? Here, tear tear apart those. Sue, I get it, tear them apart. They could have won it and walked it off, and they should have been able to. That's when I kind of get tearing apart the big guys, but I think we need to do like equal tearing apart of the team. Not just the one guy. Top of the 11th. Alvarez is intentionally walked strikeout, check out. He Fisher was one pitch away, and there was a three-run bomb by Loper Fito. Can Loper like well, you know how I felt while watching this game? Can Loporfito get the fuck out of um Toronto? Miss You Man, but I don't want to watch you play anymore. I'm I'm kinda sick of you. Um, bottom of the 11th, fly out, single by Hokamoto Vladi does score on that. Uh Valence Vela uh Force Out and then Varsha Ground Dido can't do much of anything there, which is shit. Notice how like the middle of the order has been doing stuff, which I I I do agree with tearing apart the top of the order. I just think it needs to be in it to an extent. An extent. I think it's been getting a little. I think the hatred has been getting a little too much, and I don't think it's helping this team. And I think we need to stop, or I think I might maybe I just need to delete Twitter. Um, game two. This one was boring as hell. Both team's only had four hits total. We lost two, so we we lost the series to the Astros, if you're wondering, I'll tell you that right now. Uh the first inning, uh, there was a Pinya Walk. This is pitch. You savage, this is Trey Day. I can't remember the pitching order anymore. Uh then there's a double pina scores. I didn't watch this, but apparently she not has scored on that or something or I don't know. I I gotta stop reading the X. Bottom in the first though, Nathan Lucas had a solo shot. So he actually finally came up with a hit for the like a good hit for the first time in the left, and I was very happy. The game is tied at one every single inning. You wanna know the next time a team scored was the eighth. This was like the most boring game ever, and like there were chances for both teams throughout this whole game, but there's like none good ones. This this is where I have issues. This is on Hoffman. This loss, yeah. I don't care that we had like no hits and same with the other like Houston. I I I'm on Hoffman for this loss, and I don't give a shit what people say. Uh strikeout triple call uh sh um oh god, what was the order of this next it's not showing here? Um well Fito was on third base. I can't remember if it was before the second or third out. He threw it to third and Okamoto for a pickoff, and Okamoto wasn't even near the bag. You Google Hoffman error third base to Okamoto, Loper Fito scores something like that. It will come up. Okamoto was not even looking at Hoffman, he just threw, didn't even check if Okamoto is ready. Like that's the reason we lost. Like, I know there's other reasons we lost. Our hitters weren't hitting anything in this game. I'm most pissed at Hoffman. The offense has been an issue, but come on Hoffman, really. And then he struck the battery out. Like, I don't understand why we are throwing over there, and then he got a uh sack like a deep fly out. Like, you got the strike out. Why are we throwing two base in a 1-1 game? The ball's caught and he goes running to third and then gets picked off. We probably would have fucking tied the game here. Had he not made that that's a triple A thing you learn. You do not run, you keep your eyes on the ball. Like, I I'm sorry. Had I been manager, he would have been benched today. And I know part of the circumstances was who the pitcher was on the man, and there's guys they didn't want in there, like Varsho sat, a couple of the other guys sat. He should not have played today. I'm sorry, and I know a lot of people agree on me. That is something you cannot do at the Major League level. Frankly, like that absolute base hunting mistake was ridiculous. And this is what I mean, and I agree with Caleb. We are throwing ourselves away, and we're throwing games away, and that's another prime example of how we could have come up and like won this game right there. And I hate being this type of fan, but I was pissed at that play, and I do not like it at one bit. And I guess I'd be like, We'll hit home on the night before. Who cares? We still lost. This is a series we should have swept. We like this is I'm sorry. I can't. I'm gonna keep like raging on this podcast, and it's not gonna do anything good for me. Um, top of the ninth, Louis Varland did not pitch. Are we shocked? No, we should not be shocked. They're not gonna lose they're not, they have said they're not using Varland if it is not a safe situation or if it's not a tie game anymore. And I this is exactly why.

Top of the ninth uh pitching was our boy uh fluhardy. Top of the ninth, there was a walk, uh sacrifice bunt, walk, force out single. Another one scores three to one. The bottom of the ninth was a ground out walk strikeout, and Varsho got called out. Like, say my hands the strike zone. That's how much the ball was touching. I probably would have taken that pitch too. Honestly, I think a lot of us would have. Uh we lost on a catch, like a tap-tap and ABS challenge. I I feel like every time I watch them challenge the last pitch of the ball, I'm like, okay, it's over. I'm done. I'm going home. And I ironically, it was like I was sitting at home watching this game. It's lovely. Um, yeah. We we lost. Fucking ridiculous. Fucking ridiculous. Um, I'm not gonna talk about the matchup for the first Ranger series game because that got played um uh t uh yesterday technically when this is being filmed or tennis. Uh we all know what happened with Gosman. I'm gonna comment on Gaussman that we'll be saved for the next podcast. Oh god. We almost won. That's all I'm gonna say. We did not win. He's 7-7 with a 424 ERA 9191 pitch. It's not a horrible ERA. Uh 92 checkouts. Corbin, on the other hand, has pitched in 14 games. He's 2-3, has an ERA of uh 4-7-3, so they're pretty damn close, but he's only thrown six. He's they're pitched uh 29 less innings, and that's a big issue for me. Corbin's last three starts have only been three innings. And we have lost out of Corbin's last five, we've lost three out of the five. It's fine. Mentally, it's fine. I'm gonna cheer him on tomorrow. I don't care. I'm at actually at the game tonight. I mean tonight. This is tonight's game. We're gonna cheer him on, guys. We're gonna act like that record does not exist. We're gonna feel confident about our blue jays. Now uh now I'm like inducting positivity and I'm gonna shout down y'all so it's dumb being negative on this podcast for the episode. Uh Saturday's game, which it kills me because I am at work and I cannot watch this game. It is uh Rocker with a 413 area versus our great boy, Dylan Cease with a 275, and Cease has thrown only four more innings than him, and Cease also has 118 strikeouts, and Rocker has 65. I feel pretty confident cease has been an absolute fucking weapon, and I'm really hoping he can continue that because if he can continue that, I will feel pretty damn good. I will feel pretty damn good, and I'm really happy. Um Sunday's game, which will be um Beaver. I know Beaver gave up four runs and did not make it out of the fourth. I'm gonna give him at least three starts. I feel like that's fair to every pitcher who's come back and let him settle in. I'm not worried. I'm not gonna panic until probably like on the next episode. We'll probably panic. But yeah, I'm not I'm not worried. Like I know the other guys, but he's also the other this is where I can't compare stats because the other guys pitched uh oh my god. I'm kidding, I have more than nothing. Yimmy Garcia was at the end of his rehab, and basically started having nerve pain in his arm. And now it's his neck, and I can't. I don't think he'll pitch this season. I'm starting to get on the boat. We won't see Yimmy back. Um Barge actually, all of our injured guys are in Toronto now. Um Bowden Francis is there, Cody Ponce is there, uh Barger's back in town. It sounds like he'll be in rehab games by the end of the week if everything's going well. Um but yeah. I'm trying to just I'm trying to think if there's anybody else who's off apparently that we actually care about. Oh, Ponce made a combo and how he hates um being on the aisle because it's all lonely when you're just kind of you get to the park at 8 a.m., you're kind of done, you're habing by 10, and how like every time, um uh like every time the Jays are on a longer homestand like this when he wants to come to Toronto and hang out with the guys.
