SPEAKER_00God bless you. Good to be with you.
SPEAKER_03God bless you too. Today, Bishop, thank you for being here.
SPEAKER_00My pleasure.
SPEAKER_03And for just willing to say yes to this podcast.
SPEAKER_00My pleasure.
SPEAKER_03Tell me about yourself.
SPEAKER_00You've almost said it all. I'm a soul winner. Let me start by mentioning my name again, Bishop David Azenabo, born in Nigeria, assembled in heaven, sent to the whole world. My calling is evangelizing, soul winning. And also God has gifted me, anointed me with the ministry of faith and healing.
SPEAKER_03Share a time of how God first called you into ministry and what burdened the place in your heart for Benin and the nations.
SPEAKER_00Even from childhood, my life experience, growing experience as a child, all pointed towards the call of God upon my life. Born in a little village in Edo State, Nigeria, and my village is Ewosa. That is the name of my hometown. And significantly, the name of my hometown, Ewosa, means the people of God. That is literally the names. That is literally the name of my hometown. The people of God, Erosa, people of God. Well, I was sent by my mom to go live with her brother while I was before the age of seven. My uncle needed somebody to live with him and his wife, and that was how he approached my mom, and I was sent to live with him from that tender age of about before seven years old. While growing up with him, being a man of God, because raised in a preacher's home, I'm like a preacher's kid, raised in his house. We were raised to love the Lord, pray every morning, daily devotion, and raised in the fear of God. So I was living with him, and that was how I got to, got saved. And then from that moment on, I knew within my spirit, within my heart, that I was going to do the work of God. But I just felt that I that wasn't for me. I wanted to be a businessman, even from a child, growing as a child. And also because of the circumstances that surrounds pastors, the uncomplimentary things people say about pastors, I just didn't want to be a part of that or go through that in my life. So I just thought with him, I will be a businessman, make a lot of money, and uh give a lot of money to my uncle to preach the gospel.
SPEAKER_01Wow.
SPEAKER_00But I later got caught. Every encounter of my life pointed in the right direction of my calling, even though I did not know that as a growing young man at that time in high school. I while I was in high school, you know, I was playing soccer. One day I just decided not to play anymore. But all of those pointed to the call of God.
SPEAKER_03What position did you play?
SPEAKER_00I was a goalkeeper.
SPEAKER_03I was a goalie too. Oh, really? When I was in high school, I was great at being a goalie.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, uh because of my height, I was tall as a teenager. So I was the goalie and uh I did very well with it at that time. But at one point, God, I just felt in my spirit. I can't say it's God, but I knew that that decision I made on that day was influenced by God. I just stopped suddenly. And that was how I left uh Sulka, but I still continue with my high school education. Went into uh uh uh college education, it was in college that uh I had multiple encounters uh that led me into uh ministry.
SPEAKER_03Can you share one of your encounters?
SPEAKER_00Uh when I was in the college in uh in Nigeria, uh I thought coming from the Christian background, when I get to the college, I will meet a whole lot of uh Christians there. And because our church was a very big church in my city, and some of the uh young uh uh people there, students, were also in my college. So I thought when I get to the college, we will all, I will meet with people that will all serve the Lord. But when I got to the college campus, the Christian fellowship in the campus, when we when I go there, sometimes we're just about seven, eight, or ten.
SPEAKER_01Wow.
SPEAKER_00And then it wasn't quite a good experience, but I was still going. And then most of the young people that I knew, and most of the young students that came to school, many of them were laid into aquatic groups in the campuses, in the campus. And uh, many of them did not know that when they were joining different aquatic groups, many of them did not know that was what they were becoming a part of. But I saw that going on on campus, and on many occasions, God kept speaking to me that I need to take the gospel, to go to high school and share the gospel with them so that before they get out of high school and coming into college, they need to know what is ahead of them.
SPEAKER_03Were you ever embarrassed or like afraid to witness to others?
SPEAKER_00No, I wasn't uh I wasn't afraid at all. Uh I had uh a very good sound music uh system equipment in my dormitory. I was always playing my my uncle's messages preaching. I was also playing the Christian uh gospel very loud on campus. I was just doing my own thing. I didn't uh I I wasn't really, really concerned about others on campus. I was just living my life, and that was simply it.
SPEAKER_03What keeps you now, well, at that moment, what kept you pressing on to continue to go forward?
SPEAKER_00Uh one of the nights I had another great, great encounter from the Lord, and God said to me, I want you to go and do what I have called you to do. So I took all my things the next day after that experience and encounter. I took all my things from the the uh college dormitories, I just left. I went back home. I went to my uncle that is an archbishop at that uh at that time, and I explained to him that I I want I I feel I have the call of God. Now I want to go to the Bible school and be trained and continue with the ministry. And while doing that, while being in the Bible school, that I also want to keep going and doing evangelism. So that was how I took off.
SPEAKER_03I think that you know a lot of college kids have struggle with that, especially when they come from high school. You got preachers' kids, people that are in church, young people that are in church, and then they go to college and somehow they lose their way. I mean, how did you manage to stay that focused? Because it's very easy to just go into a college where there's Bible studies and there's there's also events for, you know, different types of religion, religious activities, but not a lot of them, not a lot of the college kids will go there. They more they go to the parties, they go to all of the things. But when it comes to the actual going to Bible Bible study on a Wednesday night in college campuses, it's something that is not something that young people in college really do. What kept you wanting to continue to pursue, even though you had, you knew there was that calling? Because right now we have this peer pressure of, you know, not to stand out and let's be quiet, let's what I call it like silent, uh silent Christians.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_03You know, and and what would be an encouragement to those college students that are now going into school that want to be leaders that would say, what motivated you to stand out and be who you are despite of everything?
SPEAKER_00Well, first of all, like I said earlier, uh I just believed that it was the hand of God upon my life. God had a calling for my life. Even though I had my own choices and I was going in my own direction, I did not walk away from the Lord. I was walking with the Lord, I was on campus studying so hard, devoted my time in my study and also in sharing Christ with as many that were close to me, that will have one uh dealing with me or the other. That was how I did that on campus. And when it was time for me to leave, the experience I had was so personal and so great that my action was just to get my things and get out of the campus and then went to the Bible college. We had a Bible school patterned after Christ for the nations in our ministry in Nigeria. Okay so that was when I moved away from the secular college, I moved to the Bible school that was being run by our own local church.
SPEAKER_03So, what was the biggest miracle, the greatest miracle or testimony you have witnessed in ministry that strengthened your faith?
SPEAKER_00Uh our ministry in Nigeria is a daily uh miracles were daily occurrences. You cannot even uh before you you suffer one miracle, another is going on. So you can't even spend time talking about miracle before another one takes place. Let me give you one example. I while still growing up, at my very tender age, our next neighbor was a witch doctor. My uncle, as a preacher, he woke up one morning. This is this is something I saw firsthand. He woke up one morning to go to church very early at about 5:30, 5 a.m. Because he goes to church every day for money prayers. And then as he opened the door, he saw a big pot of sacrifice right at the front of the door. So he took uh the little uh uh flippers on his feet and used it to take the pot of sacrifice and took it out and prayed over it and said, Whosoever may have sent this, uh whatever the their intent might be, he returned it to the one that sent it and broke the pot of sacrifice.
SPEAKER_01Wow.
SPEAKER_00That same day, the witch doctor's son that was a neighbor, the right the house right beside our own house. A message came in the evening that a son that was in the military in the army died suddenly. This witch doctor started screaming and shouting and crying that Idahosa killed his son. His son lives in another city that was over 300 miles away from our own city or 300 kilometers from our Bini City. And how can a man of God living in Bini City, how could he have gone to Ibaden, another city, to kill the witch doctor's son? But the witch doctor started screaming and crying that if the hosa killed his son, but yeah uh months later or years later, that man gave his life to Christ and became an elder in our church. That that is just one of the testimony. Uh, my late uncle was involved in crusade. We were going from city to city to run crusade, and there was one crusade we went to in the city of Port Harcourt. And during the crusade, he was preaching on Lazarus coming back to life. And in that crusade, on that crusade ground, there was a lunatic, a man known in the city that was practically crazy. When he said, Lazarus, comfort, that man that was standing far away from the field started walking to the stage, to the altar. And walked to the altar. While the ushers were trying to stop him, he said, No, the man of God is calling me.
SPEAKER_01Wow.
SPEAKER_00The man of God is calling me. So uh, and the my uncle that was preaching noticed what was going on, and he said the usher should allow him to come to the stage with his rag clothes and spoke with him, prayed for him, and he was instantly healed. And he was taken to the back of the stage, his hair was shaved, new clothes were given to him to wear that same night while the crusade was still going on. I can mention firsthand miracles that I saw growing up. Then while when I became a minister, evangelist, preaching around doing crusade, also, I've seen similar miracles happen in my ministry. Miracles of deliverance, miracles of healing, miracles of salvation, and in different manner. Now let me share one. We went to uh a city uh called EZ to preach and to do a crusade and to plant a church. We would preach at night during the crusade, uh, preach salvation, people will give their life to Christ, preach, pray for the sick or pray for healing, people and deliverance, people will be healed and delivered. There was one of the days while we were preaching, a lady fell to the ground and was literally manifesting like a snake, was moving on the floor just the way a snake will move. Manifesting. And we prayed for her, and she was instantly delivered.
SPEAKER_03Were you ever afraid when it first happened?
SPEAKER_00No, because uh I I have knowledge of those things. I've seen them happen in the past. So while also preaching, I've seen some of these things also happen in my ministry during preaching. Uh another crusade we had in Uromi. There was a lady that came and she said she had an evil spirit, and she came to do a cantation during the crusade in Uromi. We also planted the church in after that crusade in Uromi. I I don't want to mention her name right now. And while the crusade was going on, suddenly she started screaming in the audience and screaming and screaming and screaming, and I told the ushers and my uh evangelism team to bring her to the stage. We prayed for her and she was delivered. Later she came to the Bible school and became a pastor.
SPEAKER_03Wow, that's awesome. So, Bishop, with all of the stuff that's going on, everybody's talking about revivals and leadership count uh conferences. I know that you have been a part of CP2.
SPEAKER_00CP2 conference.
SPEAKER_03Tell us about that.
SPEAKER_00Well, uh, when I came to the United States to get more education, I attended Christ for the Nations right here in Dallas. And then after graduation from Christ for the Nations, I went to Southwestern Assemblies of God University. While I was at Southwestern Assemblies of God University, God told me to start raising leaders to go to the northern part of Nigeria, where we have the Muslims uh who are still there now. And uh we had gone or we were going to uh Islamic uh jihadist uh position in the northern part, but God said, I want you to go and raise leaders and pastors for me in the northern part of Nigeria. It sounded good and he gave me specifics. He said, When you what you need to do, bring them in for one week, feed them for one week, train them for one week, house them for one week, and put a copy of a study Bible in their hands, that the gospel is the power of God unto salvation, and many of them had not even gone to Bible school and somewhere church workers, and I told God I was gonna do it, but by the time I sat down on the first initial uh approach to doing it, I discovered that it was gonna cost me so much money. We discovered, so when we had all this costed out, discovered that it would take $50. That was in 1994, 1993, as a matter of fact. That was what it was gonna cost for one person to be trained, to be housed, to be fed for that period of time, and giving a copy of Thompson Chair reference to the Bible. And also teaching materials that dealt with how to minister witness to the Muslims. So we started thinking, what do I do? So I came up with an idea that okay, I will uh just talk with some of my friends that I know. They give me old Bibles and I take them. And God said to me, No, I want you to take brand new study Bible. So uh I opted for Thomson Chain Reference Study Bible because Thomson Chain reference study Bible give references, not doesn't explain topics with its own uh uh ideas. It just put scriptures and deal with a subject. So I thought that would be a very good Bible to take. And uh we started on that. I shared it with a few people, and then that was it. One day, my friend uh here in Dallas, uh the Spirit of God just said, Go and worship with him that day. So I went to his church to worship with him, and it's and then uh suddenly it said it saw me coming in and he said, Oh, David, come and say something, share with us over what you you know, what you are doing. So I just shared with him. I said, okay, this is the vision. I'm gonna be going to the northern part of Nigeria to train and raise, equip uh leaders for the work of the ministry. And that was how it began. And God made the provision, and we went to the northern part of Nigeria where we started doing that. But before then, every attempt I made because of the danger and the risk of going to that area to do such an event was too high. And I wanted to go to other part of Nigeria to get that done that would be safe. Every attempt I made to do that did not work.
SPEAKER_03Well, what's not safe about it? What do you mean?
SPEAKER_00Oh, uh that is the region where a lot of Christians were being killed.
SPEAKER_01Oh.
SPEAKER_00Churches being burnt. It was even as far back as then. That was how dangerous it was. So I didn't want to go. And then uh I wanted to do the event, but I didn't want to go to where that far location where they were. So I called my uncle one day, I said to him, I said, This is the vision that uh the Lord has placed in my heart. But I want to do it in the middle of the country. And my uncle said, if God said to you, go to the north, you go to the north. He will protect you.
SPEAKER_01Wow.
SPEAKER_00On your on the assignment that he gave to you. So that was how we started, and God just opened the door. But it has not been easy, but God has protected us. So we did that in that part of the country and raised so many pastors, trained so many pastors, ordained so many pastors into the work of the ministry that have in turn planted multiple churches in the northern part of Nigeria.
SPEAKER_03And there's still persecution, right? Even though there are so many churches.
SPEAKER_00Even right now, it's so bad, right now. We don't go there anymore, but we go to Abuja to do it. The persecution at this point in time is so so bad.
SPEAKER_03What why do why is that?
SPEAKER_00It's Islamic uh terrorists that are trying to impose uh their uh Islamic religion upon everyone by force. That is what jihad jihad means. So uh over the years it has intensified in Nigeria right now, it has even the the rate at which it's going on now is is very, very alarming. Uh just two Sundays ago, uh some of my pastors in that part of the of the country called me to say a city called uh in the Chibok local government was attacked. 55 people were killed, and most of them Christians. Attacked. On two Sundays ago. Last Sunday was 17th. Two Sundays ago was the 10th. They were attacked, and the message that was sent to me was they were advised to leave their hometown because nobody was gonna be able to guarantee their safety and their security.
SPEAKER_03So, what do you do when you have something like that given to you? Like if they if they told you and threaten you, how do you keep on going? Or what does what is the wisdom behind that to decide what to do?
SPEAKER_00Well, uh the the people over there in in where this attack is fierce and ongoing, they just hold on to their faith. Uh keep believing that uh one day this will be over. So it is faith. They just hold on to their faith. Maybe some of them may relocate, but how can it, the entire family, just relocate away from their homeland? It's not easy, it's not easy.
SPEAKER_03What do you believe right now? What do you think that the church is lacking right now in this time?
SPEAKER_00Uh uh, if you are, are you talking about the global church or a church in a specific location?
SPEAKER_03As leaders, like you know, you you do a lot of conferences and and leadership. What is the one thing that you would say, or a few of the things that you would say that is lacking in uh in church today and that God has called leaders back to?
SPEAKER_00Uh it depending, it depends on the location.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00Uh leaders in the United States face different situations. Leaders in Nigeria, in the northern part of Nigeria, they face different opposition and lack various things. So when we do leaders' conference in Nigeria and to raise pastors and leaders, we inspire them and equip them to do the to fulfill the call of God for their lives. Every individual minister or a pastor has a specific calling that God has given to them. So they need to focus, they need to be committed, they need to have fervency in their spirit and in their heart to fulfill the call of God upon their lives. As we challenge them in various aspects, we also challenge them to get, you know, to live the godly life that God has called all of us into. Because for you to be able to do the work that God has called you, you have to live by the standard that God has also uh uh given to us to live. So in different nations, there are various opposition and various needs and various uh things they are dealing with.
SPEAKER_03How can pastors and leaders remain spiritually healthy while carrying heavy burdens?
SPEAKER_00Uh that is why the trainings are necessary. That is why we do uh we do the various conferences we do to focus on how they can, how they will be effective in what God has called them to do. So they need to be trained, they need to stay focused, they need to stay uh faithful to their calling. And once you are faithful to your calling, God will always uh play his part and do his part.
SPEAKER_03Do you see a lot of unity when you come to those when you have those conferences? Do you see a lot of them united?
SPEAKER_00Oh yes. Uh there's hunger, there's passion, they are hungry to receive. There is a lot of passion to do the uh to answer their call. The environment at which they are. I'm talking about the ones, the CP2 conference we do in Nigeria. So the CP2 conference we do in Nigeria that is geared towards leaders and pastors. So that that we know their area of need and we focus on teaching and ministry to their areas of need in order for them to be more effective in what God has called them to do.
SPEAKER_03That's good. Very good, very good. How can churches become more effective in reaching souls and healing broken people?
SPEAKER_00Every church has been called to whistles, called to whistle, called to disciple believers in order for them to remain in faith. And when when a born-again Christian is discipled, that born-again Christian can disciple others. So for for the local church and for the ministry, we must we must not lose sight of what the ministry is all about. Jesus said, Go and preach the gospel to all nations. And he that believes, disciple them as well. That is what the church needs to continue to do. We must not lose sight or lose focus of what the mission of the church really is.
SPEAKER_03I believe that if we be we would begin to change our mindsets, to work together, to win souls, and it doesn't matter what church they go to, as long as they are in a spirit-filled church, I think we would be in a better place and be a better example. What would you contribute to saying is the best way to be united and remember that the aim is soul winning for one for one purpose?
SPEAKER_00The church will have various focus. Individual churches may have a specific area of focus. A church may have a focus of evangelism, soul winning, but every church should have that. There are other churches whose main focus may be on healing or deliverance, or another church may have another focus to build their own body of Christ. But uh the unity of the body of Christ in general is important. When pastors come together, pastors pray together, uh it brings unity. So in every community, in every city, in every uh nation, there should be a body that you know brings people together as the body of Christ. Sometimes it's not easy to achieve because different ministries may have their own uh vision, may have their own goal, may have their own pursuit of whatever they are. But if all of us focus on winning the lost, then uh reaching the lost is possible. But if this is not being done, and it also has to be somebody that may take the challenge to lead, to take lead, to take leadership, to bring pastors together for that for that to happen. And sometimes it's difficult to do. But we still need to get it done.
SPEAKER_03Yes, I think that it should be done more often. I think leadership conferences, pastoral conferences, so you know, these conferences are very important. And so I encourage you to really go and look at his page and seek out, you know, leadership conferences, pastoral conferences that you can be involved in so that you yourself, if you are a leader or a pastor, to be fed spiritually because you are giving out constantly. And so with that, I just want to ask, you know, can you um what doors has got opened internationally for the gospel through your ministry? And how can we help um to be able to spread the word and be able to help in any kind of way, prayer, financial, or uh be supportive in this ministry?
SPEAKER_00Uh uh to us, let me quickly say this in reference to the women's ministry. Uh, during our CP2 conference, CP2 stands for creative pastors and creative people. Uh, during the conference, we also create time for the women as well. So my wife heads that uh department. And uh during the conference, we give them time uh to minister to the women, to minister to pastors' wives. Just like you said, the pastors' wives need to be encouraged and uh built up in order to be able to support the work of their ministry or the work that God has called their husband into. Uh uh the open doors that God has given to us uh for ministry. Uh we part of our vision is to plant church churches in all nations of the world. And we've been doing this for more than four decades now, for over 40 years. We've been uh we've been doing that, uh planting churches. We planted hundreds of churches in Nigeria. Uh in 1990, uh 1995, God told me to go and start a church in Germany. That was the first church I planted internationally. And uh uh that started while I was at Christ for the nations. While I was at Christ for the nations, they told us to choose a country that we should be praying for. When I got to Southwestern Assemblies of God, they told us to do the same thing. So among the countries I chose at that time, I chose Germany, I chose Japan, I chose Italy. So one uh morning as I was praying, God said, Go and plant a church in Germany. I I heard it. Once God, you know, tells me to do something, I rise up to do it. That has been the way I have uh I started ministry, hearing the voice of God, obeying the voice of God. There's nothing that I may say I have done in ministry that I just came up by myself. It's what God has impressed in my spirit that I've always gone for. So God said to me, go and start a church in Germany. So I now said, okay, on my way from Dallas to Nigeria, I will have a stop over in Chamley. And I stopped over in Germany. I I had an o I have an uncle in Germany at that time, and I called him, I said, uh, no, why after God told me that, I have lost contact with him for many years, and he called me and I told him, I said, God told me to come and start a church in Germany. So I said, on my way to Nigeria, I will have a stopover in Germany. I will spend the weekend there. So I did that, and I spent, you know, uh, I got there on uh, I think either Friday or Saturday, on Sunday, we went to a Catholic church. So after the uh mass, Catholic service, I went to talk with the priest. The priest was a lady, and I told the priest that I want God told me to come and start a church here, that I wanted her to give me the Catholic building to start a church.
SPEAKER_02That's amazing.
SPEAKER_00And she told me that I can do that, that this is a Catholic uh mission. I don't have the right, she didn't have the right to do that. But she said, I would I I will introduce you to a pastor in town that is a Pentecostal uh pastor. So it gave me the name. We called the pastor. The pastor said, Well, I was on the Sunday, said, I'm seeing church right now. Would you come and see me before I leave the church? I said, Yes. So we went and you know, had the conversation, the vision that God has given to me with him. And I said, Would you let me use your church? So when you finish your service in the morning, I would take over and do mine from uh about 12 or 1. He said he closes around 10:30, 11. I said, okay, I'll start mine at uh 12. He gave me his church to use, and we used it. So I continued on my journey to Nigeria, but he agreed to give me his church to use for my church service. On my way back from Nigeria to America, I stopped in Germany again and we started a church.
SPEAKER_03Wow, that's a lot of faith.
SPEAKER_00That was how we started the first church in in Europe by 1995 or 1996.
SPEAKER_03What language was what did you speak to?
SPEAKER_00They speak Dutch. Dutch, okay. Uh we uh I conducted the service in English and they interpreted into Dutch language.
SPEAKER_01Wow.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so uh God has opened various doors for us to plant churches in different countries around the world, and when God speaks, we obey, I obey, uh, and just go, and the Lord takes care of the rest. But how can you be a part of what we are doing? You can support us through prayers, you can support us through giving. The magnitude of the vision that God has given to us, we need people to partner with us. We need people to support us. When people partner with us, we are doing the work of the ministry together. So it's not just a one-man activity or a one-man show. How can they preach? How can people hear the gospel without a preacher? Yeah, how can they preach without somebody sending? So we someone like me that is preaching on a day-to-day basis, we need others to be a part of what we are doing. That God has blessed financially. There are those that God has blessed financially that are wanting a place where they can sow into, where they can partner, who they can partner with in order for more souls to be saved, in order for more churches to be planted. This ministry is a good ground.
SPEAKER_03And where can we begin to do that? Where can they where can you um recommend someone to go that feels called to support? Because I think that one of the key things that you said is obedience.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_03You know, when God calls you to support a ministry, obey and surrendering. Surrendering when you when you know that God has called you to ministry, then you surrender your life. It's a life of surrender. And so, what would you say to someone who feels called to support missions but does not know where to begin?
SPEAKER_00Well, we can if if they want to be a part of uh our ministry and be a part of the vision, we will uh you know they should reach out to us. We can put our information on this podcast where they can reach out to us, and we'll be glad to share with them how and what to do.
SPEAKER_03So I want to ask you some a few deep questions.
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_03Just because that's just me. Deep heart. What is one encounter with God you will never forget?
SPEAKER_00Uh I talked about the encounter that made me to leave the college, secular college, and to move into the university. There are multiple encounters that I've had with God through the process of my obeying him to do what he has called me to do. One of the years we went to the north, northern part of Nigeria, to do this conference we do. It was very difficult for us to get into uh to move from Lagos, which is the capital city of Nigeria at that time in the south, to the northern part. So we have to fly. There was one of the trips we made, we had to go to Abuja first. Another city before transiting. In the middle of the air, one of the engines of the plane died completely. And the pilot was terrified, and every one of us in the plane were terrified. But he was able to land the plane in Abuja without the plane crashing. And uh that is an assurance of God to me that when I am on the way for his journey, nothing bad will happen to me. Too many to count. On the lighter side, still on the journey to the northern part for this pastor's training. We went to the airport. The flight that was supposed to take us never showed up. So we have to now, and the conference was starting uh that same day. So we're supposed to leave early in the morning and get there and start the conference in the evening. When we got to the airport and stayed at the airport all day, and then here comes in the evening, and the people had already this were starting the conference that evening, and we were not there. So what we did was to say, okay, now we'll take the any flight that will take us to another city close to the place, and we can drive from there to where we are going. And we had over two to three thousand Bibles with us that we put into the plane. And then we were going to the city called Canaan in Nigeria that was also a very hardcore Islamic city. And we didn't know anybody there. So one of the delegates that flew with me from the United States got going to came to meet me in Nigeria with took the flight from uh finally got into a flight by miracle from uh Lagos to Cano. He asked me in the middle of the flight. He said, Who is going to wait? Where are we going now? Say Kano. He said, Who is going to wait for us in Cano? I said, the angels will wait for us in Cano. Here we are. I'm the leader of the team. We are test. A lot of things are going on. At the same time, and he's asking me that question, which was a fact. We didn't know who nobody was going to be there to wait for us. We knew nobody. And we are carrying all these Bibles with us to a place that don't want us to come. So when we arrived, Cano, we are coming down and the boxes of Bibles. Over 2,000 Bibles were coming out of the luggage stump in the airport. And I saw a man standing by the pillar looking at us, gazing. And I saw him looking at us. I told him, I just I pointed my hand to him. I said, You come here. He came. He said, Me? I said yes. I said, Come here. I said, We are on our way to Maduguru. We don't have a place to spend the night. We don't know anybody. We have all these delegates and all this luggage and cartons. I didn't tell him what was in the in the boxes and all these hundreds of buses we have. I want you to get us a place tonight. And he said, Yes, sir. I want you to get a vehicle that will take all of us. He said, Yes, sir. This man that I don't know ran out, went to arrange for a vehicle, brought them together, and took us to a hotel. We didn't have uh naira in our pocket. The man said, I'll go and get naira.
SPEAKER_03Is that money?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that is the currency in Nigeria. And this man went and told us to just and checked us into a hotel and said he was going to go and get money and pay the hotel. Then I told him we are leaving here at 5 a.m. the next morning. I wanted to make arrangements for all the vehicles we need to use. He made arrangements for about uh five vehicles that took the delegates and two uh vans that took the luggage and the Bibles. And the Bibles, when they got to every checkpoint on the way, they did not stop them to check what they were carrying. Supernatural miracles.
SPEAKER_03Yes. Do you believe that we can have that here in America revival like that?
SPEAKER_00The Bible says Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Jesus is not geographical. Jesus is not, the gospel is not limited to Nigeria. The gospel is not limited to London, England. The gospel is not limited to Japan. The gospel is for the entire world. What Jesus can do in Nigeria, Jesus can do in America. But do we have people that will believe and surrender for Jesus to walk through them?
SPEAKER_03What does the church in America need to hear right now?
SPEAKER_00Well, the church in America preach faith, they need to practice the faith that we preach. So we cannot preach faith and not believe it. So the American church needs to preach faith and walk by faith. And we will see God because He is the same in Nigeria, in Japan, and He's the same in America.
SPEAKER_02That's right. What breaks your heart the most when you look at this generation?
SPEAKER_00Well, the world in general is evolving. Technology is growing. The way life was in the 60s, in the 70s, is changing. So what people in the 60s live with, dealt with, exposed to, is not the same thing that this generation is exposed to. Just maybe 20, 30 years ago, we didn't have cell phone or the way we have it now. Most of us didn't have access to uh telephone or cell phone. But there's cell phone everywhere. So technology is growing, life is growing, life is advancing. So that is also affecting the world today. You know, sometimes I sit back and I look and I say, the way the world is growing, the church is not growing alongside. The world is growing, the world is inventing different stuff, but the church is still just the church. We still preach. There's nothing new that you can say the church is coming up with. So that is a big challenge. So what this generation is exposed to on the negative side is just too much compared to what the faith, Christian faith, is offering. So that is a huge challenge. But I am not I've not given up on the new generation. I have a belief system that in the midst of the great darkness, there is still the light that burns. The light of the gospel. I can still see that today because there are also younger, new generation pastors that God is raising up. Passionate for Him, delivering the gospel in a different style and in a different method, but with the same message. And God is raising up some dynamic young kids with the power of the gospel. So it may not be exactly the same way it was preached years ago, but God is still doing something. God will not give up on his children.
SPEAKER_02Amen.
SPEAKER_00God is at work. So all hope is not lost. God is raising up dynamic, powerful, young men and women that will take a stand for him.
SPEAKER_03Amen. I do want to allow this time for you to minister to the audience. And one of the major, one of the three things that I would love for you to do is to talk about, encourage those listening about humility, surrender, and dependence on God. Encourage and give weary pastors and leaders who feel like giving up, encouragement, and leave one message. What would that one message be to the body of Christ around the world? And what would that be?
SPEAKER_00The scripture says that Jesus, the Son of Man, came to seek and to save that which was lost. Jesus has given us the great commission to go ye into the world and preach the gospel. And Matthew 24, 14 says, And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world as a witness to all nations. And then the end will come. For those of us that are believers, God has given us the ministry of reconciliation. First of all, we have to be bold and to declare our identity as sons and daughters of God, wherever we are, that we have been given this message of reconciliation to take to the entire world. If we cannot take a stand and declare our identity, how can we take the gospel to those that have not received it? For those of us that are believers, I want us to know, or Christians, I want us to know that Jesus has given us the ministry to go into the world and preach the gospel. We don't need to be afraid. Yes, we have need for a living. We have need to cater for our family, for those who have families. But we cannot be engrossed with all of those material things and neglect to take the gospel to others. So I speak to us that are Christians to declare our identity with boldness to take a stand for God. That we are the sons and daughters of faith. We are sons and daughters that believe in Christ. And we are the sons of God that God has given the great commission to. God has also empowered us to do his work. And I'm also extending this challenge to us that have received the call of God, particularly men and women that are involved in full-time ministry. We have the passion, we have the call. We remember the day that God gave us this call into the work of the ministry, and we were passionate about it. But maybe as a result of one thing or the other, the call of God upon our lives. Circumstances around us is happening out the call of God upon our lives. I want to encourage you. I want to challenge you. It may be difficult, but I challenge you to continue to walk by faith. There may be perils, there may be challenges, there may be tempests, there may be storm. This gospel is the power of God unto salvation. It can bring salvation to us as well and our family. So I want to encourage those in ministry to endeavor to continue with the call in spite of the challenges that you may be facing. God is with you and God will stand by you. Don't forget that the trials of the moment is just temporal. Your walk of faith and your work to disciple men and women for the kingdom is for eternity. And eternity is eternity that will last forever. The Lord bless you. The Lord keep you. There are those that may be going through health challenges. Jesus is our great physician. If you are going through health challenges, I want to pray with you. I want to believe God with you this very moment. Father God, in the name of Jesus, I come before you. For those of you that are hearing the sound of my voice, wherever your aim at you, wherever your head challenge may be, I want you to put your hand right there. I want to pray with you. I want to believe God with you for your healing. For by his stripes you were healed. And I prayed the healing of God, the healing of Christ, the healing of the Holy Spirit upon you now, in the name of Jesus. Sickness and disease. I decree that sickness and disease will leave your physical body right now, leave your mind right now, and be made whole in Jesus' name. Thank you, Father God, for your healing in the name of Jesus. There are those of you that are watching right now, you don't know if Jesus will come, should come this very moment. You don't know where you will be. You don't know whether you'll be with him in heaven. And yet you are hearing me. I want to give you an opportunity to give your life to Christ. He says, Come unto me, or ye that labor, now heavily light, and I will give you rest. With the mouth, confession is made unto salvation. If you will confess Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Savior, salvation will come to you and you believe with your heart. I want you to pray this prayer with me in this very moment. Yes, Father in heaven, thank you for a day such as this. I confess Jesus as my Lord and my personal Savior. Mary God, forgive me of my sin. And I call you into my heart. I believe that Jesus died for me and he rose again. Thank you for my salvation. In Jesus' name. Amen. If you pray that prayer with me, I want you to look for a Bible-believing church around you. And today is Saturday, I don't know, whatever day you may be watching this podcast. I want you to go to a Bible-believing church. Get a Bible and read Bible, your Bible every day and pray every day. And you will continue to grow in faith. The Lord bless you in the name of Jesus. I want to thank my host today, Minister Maji. Thank you for having me. Thank God for your life. And I pray that God will continue to expand the reach of this ministry to touch lives, to bring salvation to many, and to bring healing to the oppressed. In the name of Jesus. Good be with you today. The Lord bless you, really good. And for every one of you that have taken the time to hear me, the Lord bless you as well. In Jesus' name. Amen.
