Today we have such an incredible guest on her. Her name is Natalie Knitham, and she's a holistic nutritionist, longevity educator, and host of the longevity podcast. Natalie is at the forefront of the health span movement, blending cutting-edge science and ancestral wisdom to help people live longer, stronger, and more vibrant lives. From health tech and resilience training to her deep expertise in bioregulator peptides, she's helping redefine what aging looks like. Natalie, how are you doing today?
SPEAKER_00I'm doing good. How are you, Josh?
SPEAKER_03What's going on? Awesome, awesome. No, thank you very much. I I had to get to get that intro out there so we could tell everybody how accomplished you are. This is unbelievable. So uh can you just tell us how you're feeling today and and what what has brought you to this point in your career? Loaded question.
SPEAKER_00Very loaded question. Well, I'm feeling good. I'm feeling great. Um, and thank you for asking. And um, you know, it's it's been an interesting trajectory, right? I mean, I I started off this started way back when I was a kid. I was always really fascinated with science. I studied human physiology in university, and then something happened, and I fell into a corporate job in sales for most of my adult life. But you know, I was kind of kept my little toe in the health space by I was a fitness instructor for the longest time. Sweet. And um, yeah, back in the day of aerobics and whatnot. And and um and you know, I also from my upbringing, I also I always really believed that the body has this innate ability to heal if we if we know how to do it. And so that was kind of one kind of theme. The other theme is as you get older, you watch your family members sometimes starting to develop these chronic diseases of aging. And you sit and you go, oh, geez, you know, like what's up with that? Like, you know, I kind of look like them. Am I gonna go down that path? Like, am I am I going down there too? And um, and you know, like they came to this moment, probably about 15 years ago, where I was longer now, I think, where I was just like, this corporate job thing isn't cutting it for me, and I want to go back to my roots. And and I remember when I left school, university missing it, like missing the learning, missing being in that space. And so I went back to school. I became a holistic nutritionist, and then I got really interested in genomics, and then I got really interested in peptides, and then somebody talked me into starting a podcast, and here we are.
SPEAKER_03That's awesome. All right, which is a which is a huge history, real quick. Sorry to put that in such a loaded question. But you know what?
SPEAKER_00It's enough. It's enough time spent on history.
SPEAKER_03No, but what how are we like everyday people are are we approaching longevity wrong right now? Or or how would you look at that?
SPEAKER_00I mean, it depends on the person, right? I think that I mean it's it's that's that's a loaded question that needs a lot of unpacking. I think that, you know, it's becoming it, you know, in in some ways it's this obsession is kind of bubbling up into the mainstream. But the truth of the matter is that the human condition has always been predicated on a really interesting course that I took in college called The Denial of Death. And it was a philosophy course, and it was taught by the funniest guy. He was this this guy who was like like really unkept hair and beard, and he had this massive belly on him, and he always always had stains on his shirt. And but he was the most charming prof, right? And this whole course was predicated on this human state that says, we never we even though we know we're gonna die, we don't really believe we're gonna die. We don't really believe we're not gonna be here. Like, I mean, how could I possibly not be here? I'm here. Like, I mean, everybody else is gonna die, but I'm not gonna die. And so there's this kind of so we all have this underlying this underlying kind of uh what would you call it? Like a kind of fascination with with with staying here, plus, you know, throw in a big dose of FOMO. Nobody wants to miss out on whatever's going on. Yeah. And I don't care who you are, everybody gets FOMO. And so the what's what's what I think has evolved now is this space where people are starting, finally starting to understand that they do have a lot more control over how they age and and live their life in their later years than ever before. You know, there was a there was a long period of time where people just thought, okay, well, you know, I'm gonna get old and then I'm gonna die. And along the way, I'm gonna hurt and things are gonna break down and then and then I'm just gonna peter out, and you're do and the doctors reinforce that. They're like, you go in and you complain about this, that, the other thing, and like, yeah, well, you know, you're just getting older. Suck it up. And there's a whole whack of us in the corner going, wait, what? No, actually, no, that's that's not gonna work. And so we're at this very important interesting inflection in point of inflection where we have an increasing number of tools at our disposal just as individuals, to see, to assess, like, how are we aging, how do we feel, what can we do about it, what's in our control. You know, there's I interviewed a guy yesterday who talks about the longevity bridge, where if we can stay healthy and stay alive for the next, I don't know, maybe 10 years, the the the regenerative therapies that are coming online are are becoming so significant that they are really going to massively change the way that we live out our final years. Absolutely. And so I I'm probably I'm 20 miles away from the original question, but I think that um I think that it it's it's it's an exciting time that we're in where we have access to a lot more information, a lot more data about us personally that we can leverage. And so the trick is not to get lost in it. The trick is not to live this life of worry and anxiety and obsession, but it's finding that balance between what can I do to be the healthiest and feel the best that I can. What do I need to tap into to do that? And that's a whole other topic we can talk about. And then how do I live my life and be a happy human at the same time?
SPEAKER_03That's very true. I love that. And I love I love this big push right now and this big awareness on peptides. And I know that you're involved with those. And what would you say is is a big misconception right now that people may have on peptides? Is there any recurring?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, well, there's a lot of them, right? I mean, and it depends which camp you go to. There's a camp that says, oh my God, they're peptides are magic. There's they're safe, you know, they're safe for everybody, and there's different types of peptides we can talk about. Yeah. Um and they're gonna solve your problems. And then we've got the opposite camp that's like they're not FDA approved. They have they do not have placebo-controlled double blind crossover studies. I some people don't even believe they do anything, um, and are and and and are naysaying the whole the whole sector. The truth is in the middle, right? The truth is that peptides are extremely promising small molecules that in many cases have an origin story in naturally produced proteins in our own bodies. So there are receptors for these peptides in our bodies that will respond to them. So they can be a very powerful tool, especially when they're used properly by the right people in the right circumstances, in the right doses, sourced from the right place, which is a whole other can of worms. Right. Um so I think peptides are fantastic, and they could well be part of that toolkit that helps us to live longer, healthier lives. But but the science isn't settled yet. And and I think that the the problem is that the genie got out of the bottle in because of social media, the genie got out of the bottle in such a way that I've been hearing about 14-year-old kids who are running around talking about, you know, what are the peptides that can give me better, bigger muscles, or whatever the case may be. And that's not to say that there's not a clinical application to help young athletes to recover faster sometimes, although kids recover pretty darn fast. That's you know, I I you know 100%. But what we don't want is these kids going on Alibaba, ordering a bunch of stuff and figuring out how to inject themselves. And we're getting very close. We're we're there. Like there are I've spoken to moms who know that their kids are having these conversations. And so never mind the influencer on TikTok who's like, you know, got their vials lined up in the morning, going, here's my my regimen for the day. And so I I think we're it's an exciting, horrifying time.
SPEAKER_03Well, that's with with with everything, right? But but I remember, and I'm gonna I'm gonna age myself or not, and and in 2002, when I was uh senior in high school, they were starting to the creatine was starting to come out, and kid kids were like injecting themselves with creatine. And they were? Yeah, we're all talking, oh my heck, they're on creatine, and we're like, what is creatine? And so, but now, you know, there's however many, you know, what 30 years later, like creatine now is one of the most studied things, you know. And and so it's unbelievable that now I take, you know, 10 milligrams of creatine every day to help just my brain help and to help me, you know, let alone I do work out every day. I do, you know, I've lost 200 pounds and it's really been awesome. But thank you. And so I've done that with like whole foods and vegetables and exercise, but creatine's kind of been at my staple along with you know, cardiomycle, our our drink. And so it's, you know, the studies kit I think they can only help to validate, but also, you know, that's what people these days that need that instant fix, they don't want to wait for the studies. So and do you know how much they're how many studies they're doing on these peptides? Like, do you know how how widely that is?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I don't. And I mean, people don't want to wait for the studies for I think two reasons. One is a very honest narrative that is conventional medicine takes so long to adopt new information, right? Um, and and I think that at this stage of the game, especially now with AI, with the tools that we have at our disposal, med schools are gonna have to step up their game. Right. And and and slow adoption, of course, you could say slow adoption means we make less mistakes, but let's face it, we make plenty of mistakes in medicine. There's lots of drugs that might solve one problem and cause five more. So it's not, you know, it's not like the double plus double blind placebo-controlled crossover study is flawless. There's always gonna be an issue. So, and and the good news is there's a lot of medical doctors in the functional medicine space and integrative medicine space that have been using these peptides clinically in practice. And so what really I think what needs to happen right now is a pooling of all that data that's out there. It's not gonna be as good, it's not gonna be the same as that study that everybody is screaming for, but it's gonna give us some, it should give us some insight.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Right? I love that, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And and so we have to be willing to kind of, I think we need to be willing mindfully, respectfully, and knowledgeably to alter the model a little bit and and in in some ways and and hopefully get get ourselves to a better place. But you know, the bioregulator peptides are very different. Like they have three yeah, they have three decades of research behind them, in or over three decades of research behind them in Russia. And actually, you asked how many studies are going on with the peptides, and I'm gonna interrupt myself on the bioregulators to go back to that. I think that there's not enough. There's not an there aren't enough human studies, and the reason for that is under high dispute, high dispute, but I think the fundamental reason for it is there's no straight line. Right? And and so because people who say that they can't be patented and that's why they're not studied, I don't think that's exactly true. I think I mean, look at the GLPs. No. What what happened with the GLPs is the drug pharma companies took a look at these things and said, wait a minute, if we can solve for weight loss, we're gonna make a lot of, we're gonna be printing money.
SPEAKER_01Truly, yeah.
SPEAKER_00So they saw they're not they're smart people. They have they've they're all about the bottom line, and they knew that bottom line was going to explode if they could solve for X. And they did. You look at something like BPC 157, well, you know, it kind of heals the gut, it has anti-inflammatory benefits, it's good for the brain, it's good for bones, it's good for muscles, it's really good at helping things to heal, it's good for burns, maybe it's good for eyes, and they're sitting there going, uh, I just want them to take Tylenol.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Because we know we can make money there.
SPEAKER_03Sure, yeah. And but but we don't want people to rely on these either. And it's but I would love, I really want you, if you wouldn't mind diving more into the will you explain what a bioregular peptide is?
SPEAKER_00Sure. So the bio so the peptides we were I was talking about before, like, and I'll name, I'll rattle off a few because people may be familiar with them now. We have BPC157, thymusin beta 4, or TB500, which are different, but used ex people will use the names interchangeably. We have thymusin alpha 1, MOTC, um GHK copper. So all of these, this alphabet soup is what we would refer to as signaling peptides. And most often they're they're longer chain, but not necessarily because GHK is only three amino acids. But you know, BPC157 is 15, thymusin beta 4 has 43. So they're they're kind of me, they're still small in the land of proteins, that proteins can be thousands of amino acids, but they're they're longer chain and they act on receptors on the outside of the cell as a signaling and initiate signaling cascades. GHK does that as well. The bioregulator peptide is at most for maybe five amino acids long and as few as two amino acids. So it's the teeniest of tiniest. It is naturally occurring in nature. Bioregulator peptides naturally occur in every single life form that you can think of in some way, shape, or form. And what they do is they have the ability to cross the cell membrane, get into the nucleus, and affect genetic expression inside the nucleus of a cell. And one of the things that, one of the mechanisms that people think that they work by to help is that they correct some of the defaults in DNA signaling that gene expression as we age, right? So when we're younger, when we need more of some protein or other, the DNA is intact, you the cell gets a signal, you upregulate the production of whatever protein that you need to do maintenance and repair on a tissue or an organ or a gland. As we age, we have more damaged DNA, it's harder for that repair to happen. The the bioregulator has the ability to go in and it helps to upregulate the expression of that DNA. And there are there's a there's a line of thought thinking right now that one of the things that it's doing is that it's helping to correct those mistakes in the DNA expression. Um the the they were discovered, studied, and developed by a guy by the name of Professor Vladimir Kavanson in Russia. There's current, there is to this day the Institute of Gerontology and Bioregulation in St. Petersburg, where they do crazy work using bioregulators. In Russia, they are standard, virtually standard of care. You can buy them in a pharmacy over the counter. And that speaks to the fact that unlike the signaling peptides that can upregulate a process and maybe send you into overdrive or overdo something, the bioregulators, by definition, are modulatory. So what they do is they try to restore function to baseline. So the best example of that is the thyroid bioregulator, where you can you can use the thyroid bioregulator with someone who is either hyper or hypothyroid, it'll help to normalize their thyroid function regardless. So it's not gonna further depress it or boost it. Now, a caveat, because at this point, people who don't have never heard of bioregulators before are like, I need to go get me some of that because my thyroid's broken. I'm gonna fix it. And the bioregulators are fantastic and they don't work alone, right? So sometimes it's the last thing you need. You've been working on your diet, you've been, you've made sure you've taken care of selenium and iodine and all the other things. You've gotten rid of gluten because you understand that gluten might attack the thyroid in some cases. You're doing all the things, you're sleeping, and and you're still not really getting anywhere. Sometimes a few cycles of the thyroid bioregulator is the last piece of the puzzle that helps to bring things together.
SPEAKER_03That's amazing. It sounds like a uh an awesome regulator. Like it's gonna help.
SPEAKER_00That's exactly what it is. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03And that that's what we say with um is this is why I think Matt reached out to you in the first place is because uh Cardiomiracle, our product, is a nitric oxide booster, but we use all whole organic fruits and vegetables, and we tell people that the nitric oxide is actually a master regulator that helps your system to regulate to where your body needs. And so I I guess piggybacking off of your incredible information that you're saying, I hear a lot of people say microdosing. And so is is this is like the GLPs and the peptides, is that all microdosing, or is that is that depending on the person?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so microdosing is a term that's mostly used around the GLPs. Oh, right. So the GLP categories, so there we have GLP1, GIP, and soon to come the glucagon through retitrutide. So we have semaglutide was the first, and you know, there have been these medications have been around. Yeah, we have lyriglutide, there's all these earlier versions, right? But the the money shot really happened with semaglutide, which is caldosempic.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And that's when we just started to see crazy results. And then and then terzepitide came out, and it's hitting two different receptors, and then we're soon to come as retitrutide. When we talk about microdosing those compounds, very often you're you're speaking about people like can practitioners that are using them not actually for weight loss in their patient population, they're actually tapping into some of their other functionality, which a lot of people don't realize. And that is that they can be, they seem to have an ability to modulate the immune system for people who have immune system issues, and they also seem to have some very strong anti-inflammatory powers. And when we talk about microdosing GLPs, we're talking about sometimes like a tenth of a starting dose or even less than that. So we're talking about itty bitty amounts that just somehow seem to give enough of a signal to the body to create these incredible benefits. When people are trying to lose weight, typically, usually you have to start somewhere around the starting dose. I would recommend people, and if they're worried about some of those side effects, which actually, interestingly enough, has a very interesting link now to um to um to your genetics. So some people are genetically predisposed to experiencing better weight loss effects and also increased nausea and and um and throwing up from certain uh GLPs. And I that information is gonna start coming out over the next little while. It's really interesting area of research.
SPEAKER_02Wow.
SPEAKER_00Um and so they those people might need a lower dose, or maybe they may respond, you know, they're gonna respond differently. But bottom line, when we talk about microdose. We're talking about the GLPs. When it comes to some, I mean, look, you can use any peptide in a microdose. It's just a question of what's it going to do for you, right? Um, there's you know, there's one peptide called LL37, which is a very powerful antimicrobial peptide. And it's actually something that's naturally produced in your body. It's it's kind of part of the whole vitamin C complex, uh vitamin D complex, sorry. Um, but LL37 is has very powerful um cytotoxic effects. So that means it can be very toxic to cells. And in that case, with especially with people with a lot of um a high microbial load, we might say, you know what, you're gonna wanna, if if somebody was gonna go there, the physician guiding them usually will start them at a ridiculously small dose just to see how they respond so that they don't experience some kind of Herzheimer reaction, which is like a healing response that feels like you're dying.
SPEAKER_03Oh, of course. That'd be step scary.
SPEAKER_00Nobody nobody feels like they're healing when they're hurting. Like this is Oh, of course.
SPEAKER_03So so if if people aren't really diving into the peptides and whatnot, what are some of the real longevity routines that people can do day to day, like starting today?
SPEAKER_00You mean with peptides?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, with peptides or if they're not using peptides, like for me, it's um for for me, it's like I tell people to go for a walk. You know, I've I I walk over nine million nine million steps a year just because I I tell people don't sleep on walking, and that's how I've lost 200 pounds, is that I just started I started walking, you know.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, well, and this is the thing, right? And I and you're hitting on something extremely powerful here, and that is the the majoring in the minors or whatever that expression is. Yeah. And people kind of their eyes kind of glaze over because I'm gonna sit here and say, if you're not sleeping well, you're metabolically messed up, you know, and it's and none of these peptides are gonna be able to do as good a job for you as they would if you were prioritizing your sleep. And so fixing sleep can in and of itself can be a whole project, right? And it dovetails with are you getting outside? Are you seeing natural light first thing in the morning and at the end of the day? Are you taking your freaking sunglasses off? I know they make you look cool, but here's the thing you're blocking critical information from the sun into your brain about where the heck you are in time and space, right? So so getting out and and exercising, which is not the same as walking, which is not the same as getting out in nature. Like we need to reconnect. And if you look at the health tech industry, half the time we're just trying to build technology to mimic nature. We're trying to recreate grounding, we're trying to recreate um, you know, what whatever it is that we're trying to recreate. We're trying to recreate aspects of nature that we've lost connection with. So the sleeping, the getting outside, the exercise, the and as you said earlier, you know, diet doesn't have to be complicated. Just to eat adequate protein, eat lots of vegetables, eat healthy fats, not too many. If you're a keto person, make sure that it's gonna work for you for real, like legit. Do some blood work, make sure it's your labs aren't going sideways. Take care of that. And now right? And and I mean, yeah, look, if you have a leaky gut, may might BPC 157 help to make you feel better even as you're doing the basics? A hundred percent. But you've got you can't get around doing those things. Like there nothing, I and I don't care if you're using an exercise memetic thing or a sleep memetic or a fasting memetic, nothing actually replaces doing the thing.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, 100%. No, I love it. And yeah, what do you think about these like grounding sheets and grounding blankets? Like, are they uh have you seen those? Are those for real?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I've got a grounding sheet on my bed. I mean, I can't tell you for sure that I can feel it, but I mean it's there. I'm on the third floor. I live in a you know, I live in an urban city. Like I'm gonna do whatever I can to help my body's. So once you get rid of once you bleh speak Natalie, once you take care of those foundations, the bioregulators I think are the great unsung heroes of a longevity journey.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Right. I think that there's um I talk about this when I'm when I'm presenting on stage. Like if you were going to say to me, Nat, I'd I just want to do like, you know, one thing. What is one thing I could do? How could I use the bioregulators in a way that pretty much anybody, and I would say anyone could benefit from this, and that would be to tap into the pineal gland bioregulator, the blood vessel bioregulator, and the thymus bioregulator. And you could use that trio for 20 or 30 days, two to four times a year, depending on your age and stage and where you're at. And what that's gonna do is it's gonna help to give your body a bit of a tune-up, right? So the thymus glands, seat of the immunity, we all need a better, more balanced immune system. Blood vessel bioregulator helps to restore the endothelium of blood vessels, which is gonna help nitric oxide and all the other things that cardio that your formula helps with. And then the pineal gland helps to restore circadian rhythm, it helps to normalize melatonin production, it has this kind of overarching balancing effect on the endocrine system, and it also activates telomerase so that it helps to maintain those telomeres on the ends of your DNA. So the only caveat to that proto to that protocol, if we want to call it that, is if you have active cancer or you've recently had cancer, I would probably not use the pineal gland bioregulator because cancer cells potentially, even though we don't have studies that show this, and there's some studies that Kavinson did that showed that it had that uh pineal gland bioregulator had antitumor effects. Cancer cells do also might hijack that whole telomerase mechanism to help them to maintain their telomeres. And we know cancer cell cancer cells have very long telomeres. So if you have active cancer or you have had cancer recently, probably not the best bioregulator for you. But for everybody else, that pineal gland with the blood vessel and the thymus gland would be a really nice trio for longevity.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that sounds amazing. And and what is what's one overlooked tool that can dramatically improve lifestyle in in addition to sleep? Because I I started like I thought for the longest time in my 20s that sleeping was like a weakness or it was a waste of time. And now in my 40s, I'm like, I gotta get to sleep at like 9:30, or else I am a zombie the next day.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god, that's hilarious.
SPEAKER_03Really focused on that. So what what else is is helpful in your in the journey to longevity?
SPEAKER_00Um, I think, and because this tactic this touches on everything else, I think learning to developing tools to manage your stress, to manage how stress affects you is massively important because we know that if we're walking around in an activated, sympathetic state at all times, meaning we're always kind of our bodies somehow feel we're always being chased by a lion, which frankly could be your boss looking for your report or whatever it is, it elevates cortisol. And cortisol, we we want cortisol to go up, but we also need cortisol to go down. Right? We don't want cortisol to stay up. And so that sets you up for metabolic imbalances, that sets you up for an immune system that doesn't work properly. That mess sets you up for not um sleeping properly. And it sets you up, frankly, for mental health challenges. So developing that toolkit, whether it's just tapping into breath work or learning to meditate or getting out in nature, or you know that like when I was working my corporate job, I was also teaching fitness. And I knew that no matter how crappy my day was, if I went in and taught a high impact aerobics class and spent an hour essentially jumping up and down and screaming to really loud music, I would walk out of there and it's like whatever the heck it was that was driving me nutty, it was gone, or it didn't matter as much. And so, but that was my medicine. Find your medicine. Maybe your medicine is doing what you do and going and walking outside in nature, or maybe your medicine is playing pickleball or playing with your kids or having a dog. I mean, all of these things are really powerful tools that help us to self-regulate. And notice that I didn't say get rid of stress. Number one, we need it. Number two, there is nothing on this earth that's gonna stop stress at this point, given the world that we live in, right? And I don't care who you are, what side of what argument you sit on, it's a bitch out there. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_03No, it's pardon my language. No, we love it. Thank you. And that's what I do now that I've lost all this weight. I put on a hundred-pound weight vests and I I do my walks or my jogs and I I do it every and every day that I'm done with my five or seven miles, I literally feel like a superhero. I feel like I could do anything. And when I'm done with that at 7 a.m., I like my day is a breeze, you know?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Well, because you've done hard stuff. Yeah, right? And and I think that you know, I mean, we could layer this on to learning to manage your stress, is every once in a while, maybe get into the habit. And and if you haven't done this in a long time, you won't be able to just jump in. But do something hard. Do something that makes you uncomfortable, right? Do something that actually doesn't feel good. Not something that's gonna hurt you, but something, you know, whether it's jumping into a cold tub or getting into a sauna or wearing a 100 pounds, seriously? Yeah, wearing a weight vest. Okay, well, he clearly built up to that. I would fall apart.
SPEAKER_03I like to challenge out of my legs.
SPEAKER_00My legs like to challenge and yeah, and while you're doing it, it probably hurts, right? It's uncomfortable.
SPEAKER_03I mean, sure, yeah, it does get uncomfortable, but I um I have built up a tolerance to it, and and obviously my legs, like I needed to start at 60 and kind of build up from there. And so I, you know, it's just it's what I do, but I love it, and it's something that I I was gonna ask you about cold and hot therapy with like saunas and cold cold plunges, in addition to these all these peptides and stuff. Like, is all of that together kind of working all of it synchrinecrity, whatever that's called?
SPEAKER_00Synchronicity, if it's right for you, right? If you're in a when it if your body is in a state where it can handle a hermetic stressor, right? So, hermetic stressor by definition, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, that kind of thing, kind of like you walking around with your 100-pound vest on. Like it might kill me, but it makes you stronger. Um so so as long as you're in a place where you can handle the stressor, these are incredibly powerful practices. On the sauna side, I really love an infrared sauna because the infrared sauna doesn't it doesn't need to get as hot as a traditional sauna. It's more tolerable for people because what it's doing is it can heat you through the infrared without having to overheat the air. And so there's a lot of benefits to contrast therapy, and there's a lot of benefit to just doing one or the other. It just about where you're at. And and I think that what's important for people to hear is just because the person you're following on TikTok or Instagram says that this is the thing that you need to do to be your best, doesn't mean it applies to you. It may not. This may not be the thing for you, and or it may be too much for you right now. You know, the other place that that happens a lot is fasting, right? We know that fasting is a very powerful tool, but it's not the right tool for everybody at this very instant.
SPEAKER_01Totally.
SPEAKER_00We we need to build that muscle, we need to build that metabolic flexibility, and you can do it, guys. You can start tomorrow, delay your breakfast by one hour. You've you've started, you know. Stop eating three hours before bed, boom, you've got like a 12-hour fast right there. Baked in. Um but but give yourself the opportunity give your body the opportunity to come along. So, you know, one thing, like I said, manage your stress. If you don't want to, you know, if you've already done that, start working on reducing your eating window every day if we don't want to use the F-word.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. The F word. I love that. Tell us about your podcast. I want to hear like uh who do you interview? How often is it out? Like uh do you get do you do it every day or what kind of uh gosh, I mean I end up recording.
SPEAKER_00It feels like I record every day. I release um I release two podcasts a week. I really look for uh researchers and cutting-edge kind of tech, right? I mean, I'm looking, you know, the most exciting episodes. Like I I recorded one and released it earlier this year with a scientist working for a biotech company that have figured out how to transplant healthy mitochondria into the stem cells of babies that have a mitochondrial disease, and then they put it back into their bone marrow and then they heal. Like, I mean, I was just like, I had to go lie down after recording that. I was so blown away. It's so intense. I love it.
SPEAKER_03No, and I was I was just talking to someone uh two days ago, uh, this uh doctor from New Zealand, and he was uh Alzheimer's and a dementia specialist, and he told me exactly what you just said about sleep that he said you don't start developing dementia in your 70s, you start developing it in your 30s and your 40s, and whenever you miss sleep. And so I was like, oh man, I gotta get my gotta get my stuff together. So it's amazing how we can how we can hear that and interview these incredible people. And I I love the fact that we got you today and for the the 35 minutes that I got you. But will you tell us where we can find you? How can our listeners look you up?

SPEAKER_00Sure. Um I think it's that we are at such an exciting time in human health. Um I think that we've no end of information at our fingertips, but find yourself a guide. Find yourself someone who will walk with you and help you to make sense of that information because it's it's it's a beautiful thing, but it's a big, confusing world out there. People are constantly pushing an agenda on, you know, saw a lot of people because they want to do good in the world, but a lot of people because they're they found something they know is gonna make get attention and make them money. So be discerning and find yourself, you know. I mean, like Josh's podcast here, like we we are very selective about the people that we interview so that we can help to curate for you a a selection of p of of information that we believe will be helpful.
