Walk With Me
Walk With Me is a podcast for people who feel stuck, misaligned, or disconnected from their lives despite doing the “work.” It helps them understand the internal pillars, patterns, and beliefs shaping their reality so they can create real, lasting change. Unlike traditional self-improvement or manifestation content, Dr. Giovanni DeJesus DC, MSPP, focuses on systems over quick fixes, blending logical breakdowns with honest conversation to help people stop performing growth and start understanding the version of themselves creating their life.
Walk With Me — because you can’t change your life until you understand the version of you creating it.

Why You Feel Lost: You Don’t Know Where You Are on the Map

In this episode of Walk With Me, Dr. Gio continues building the Walk With Me Method by asking one of the most important questions in personal growth: Where are you on the map?
Having a map means nothing if you do not know where you are on it. Many people are trying to change their habits, improve their mindset, manifest a new life, or find deeper meaning, but they are working from the wrong place. They are trying to change their behavior without understanding the identity, nervous system, emotions, beliefs, and internal patterns creating that behavior.
In this episode, I break down the eight pillars of the Walk With Me Method: Awareness, Identity, The Mind, The Nervous System, Emotions, Capacity, Behavior, and Meaning. These pillars help explain why you can know what to do and still struggle to do it, why discipline alone is not always enough, and why real transformation begins with locating yourself honestly.
I also share a personal story from 2024, a season of financial stress, family upheaval, emotional overwhelm, and mental health struggle, where I realized I had been trying to fix my behavior while my nervous system was simply trying to feel safe.
This episode is for anyone who feels stuck, lost, overwhelmed, inconsistent, or disconnected despite trying to grow. Instead of asking, “What do I need to do?” this walk invites you to ask a deeper question: “Where am I on the map right now?”
Because once you know where you are, you can stop fighting yourself and start working with yourself.
Reflection question: Where are you on the map right now — in your awareness, identity, mind, nervous system, emotions, capacity, behavior, or meaning?

Walk with me. Because you can't change your life until you understand the virgin of you creating it. This is a space for honest conversations about the systems, patterns, and beliefs quietly shaping your life. Having a map means nothing if you don't know where you are on it. Take a walk with me. Last episode, I laid out a map that's been lurking underneath our conversations. Today, I want to slow this down and help you locate yourself within it. This is where most people get stuck. You're trying to change your life, but you don't know which part of yourself you're actually working with. So you white knuckle your habits, like your parent holding onto the grab handle of the passenger car door while you're driving. Or you try to manifest your way out of a situation. You know, click your heels twice and wish you were back home in Kansas. Nothing sticks. Is it because you're incapable? No, that's not it. It's not because you're incapable. It's because you're solving the wrong problem in the wrong place. So today isn't about doing more. It's about seeing where you are. Because once you can locate yourself, everything starts to make more sense. The way I see it, your life is being shaped by eight pillars. You briefly heard them in our first episode. Here they are again in sequence. There are three phases. Phase one, how you see your world. In this phase, there is awareness, the ability to witness your internal world without being consumed by it. There is identity, the subconscious blueprint that dictates what you allow yourself to have, do, and be. And then there is the mind, the internal narrator that translates raw reality into the stories you believe to be true. In phase two, how you feel and how you regulate within this world. That's your nervous system, the physiological engine that determines whether you operate from a state of survival or a state of safety. And there's emotions, the real-time feedback signals on your dashboard showing you exactly what you need to pay attention to. And then capacity, the size of the internal container you have built to hold the tension of your own expansion. Phase three is how it all shows up. That is behavior, the visible evidence of the invisible system you've been running on autopilot, and lastly meaning, the state of ultimate congruence where who you are and what you do finally speak the same language. Now I'll break each of these down as we continue our walks together. For now, let's see how you may get lost in all of this. Most people live in phase three. You're focused on behavior, results, meaning, and with that, you're more than likely asking, why can't I stay consistent? Why do I keep messing this up? Why isn't this working? But the problem isn't in phase three. You're trying to clean the water at the mouth of the river of your life while the poison is being dumped miles upstream in your identity andor your nervous system. And I know this because I've lived it. Back in 2024, I told myself I was going to be disciplined. I was going to launch this podcast. I was going to change my life. But the truth? I was at capacity before I even started. Life hit my family hard. We were broke and we were trying to sell our house to get out of it in Florida. At the time we had a buyer. I got a job opportunity in West Michigan. We moved up, we fell in love with the area. We felt this was it. Then the financing fell through. We couldn't afford to pay two places at once, so I had to resign from my job and back to Florida we went. It was a move that broke our hearts. From there we were trying to come up with funds to survive, and I couldn't land a job. I was spiraling with outburst days of mania, followed by days of drowning underneath the deep waters of depression. When I kept reframing as not being strong enough, turned into a mental health crisis. So the moment a minor inconvenience showed up, I'd fall off. Every time I was trying to fix my behavior, you see. When my nervous system was just trying to feel safe. I was looking for the destination on a map when I couldn't even find my own location. So what about you? Maybe you're saying, I just need to stop overthinking. But your nervous system is dysregulated. So your mind keeps spinning. Or I need to be more confident. But your identity still says that's not who I am. So hey, it's not that you're failing. I believe you're working in the wrong place. You're digging for gold on a map where you don't even know your own location. So, here's the shift. Instead of asking, what do I need to do? Start asking, where am I on this map right now? Am I unaware? Am I stuck in a pattern of thinking? Am I dysregulated? Am I avoiding something emotionally? Am I at my limit in capacity? Because once you know where you are, you stop fighting yourself and start working with yourself. So take a moment here. Be honest with yourself. Not where you want to be, not where you think you should be, but where you actually are. Because that is your true starting point. And in the next episode, we're gonna start at the very beginning of this map. We're not starting with behavior, we're not starting with discipline, but with the one thing that makes all of this possible, and that is awareness. Most people feel stuck when they're just moving blindly. So, from here on out, we're not guessing anymore. We're walking this with direction. As we finish our walk for today, remember, you are not here to perform growth. You are here to understand yourself clearly enough to live differently. This is walk with me, because you can't change your life until you understand the version of you creating it. Follow the show, leave a review. I want to know who you are and where you're listening from. And share this episode with someone who's ready to stop fixing symptoms and start understanding the system. Episodes are released every Monday morning, 3 a.m. North American Eastern Time. Until our next walk. My name is Dr. Geo, and thank you for the company.
