SPEAKER_02Hello ladies, what can I get for you?
SPEAKER_04Hi Kofi. Just a regular latte for me, please.
SPEAKER_02And what for you? Lila.
SPEAKER_04A black coffee, please. Thank you. So, Lila, how's the apartment hunt going? What places did you find to visit today?
SPEAKER_03It's a lot. I've been looking online for days. But there are three places I'm going to look over this weekend. I need to buy new furniture, so I'm looking for something with wall-to-wall carpeting. I also want to find out if the apartments have blinds or shades for privacy, you know.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, you can't just trust the photos. You really need to scope out the neighborhood in person. Is it convenient? Is it close to the bus or the grocery store?
SPEAKER_03One of the places is close to my gym, which is great, but the pictures don't show if it has a well-lit entrance.
SPEAKER_02Here we go. Black coffee for you, and a regular latte for you. Good luck with apartment hunting. This part of town is very convenient. Most everything is close to the bus lines. Just make sure you read the lease carefully. And don't be surprised if they ask for a two-month security deposit.
SPEAKER_03Oh, thanks. That's good to know. The listing said the security deposit is two months rent. That's a bit steep. I've been saving up for the deposit and the first month's rent, but I didn't think about the application fee.
SPEAKER_04Some places even ask for a non-refundable application fee. It's a lot to navigate.
SPEAKER_03It certainly is. I just hope I find a place soon.
Por ejemplo, Call you Look over Disreport before I send it. Penny usó la expresión Scope Out. Blinds or sheds. Vamos a escuchar.
SPEAKER_03I don't know. It feels cramped. And look at the kitchen. The cabinets are so old, I don't think I have enough space for my pans.
SPEAKER_04You'll have to get creative. But seriously, this building is a 10-minute walk to the office. That's a huge bonus. You wouldn't need a car at all.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. I guess you are right about the location. But the street noise is really loud. Do you hear that? I don't think I'd be able to focus on my work.
SPEAKER_04Hmm, maybe you're right. It's a trade-off, isn't it? Convenience versus comfort. Let's look at a few more places before deciding.
SPEAKER_03Good idea. Let's go.
SPEAKER_00Muy bien.
SPEAKER_01So, what do you think of this place? I think you'll find it's a big step up from the last one.
SPEAKER_03It's beautiful. I love a natural light and the updated appliances. We really appreciate you meeting us so quickly.
SPEAKER_01If you're ready to move forward, I can talk you through the lease agreement. It's a standard one-year lease.
SPEAKER_04What about the security deposit and the first month's rent? Is that what you'll need up front?
SPEAKER_01Yes. The security deposit is equal to one month's rent. It's fully refundable as long as there's no major damage when you move out. I'll need the deposit and the first month's rent to secure the apartment.
SPEAKER_03That sounds reasonable. What about pets? My cat pumpkin is very well behaved.
SPEAKER_01We do allow small pets with an additional non-refundable pet deposit of $200.
SPEAKER_03Oh, okay. Thank you so much for the information, Mr. Evans.
SPEAKER_01My pleasure. Just let me know when you've made a decision.
