In Revelation Jesus calls Himself Alpha and Omega He has not changed but His purpose does. He is not coming back to pay for our sin He already did that.
Good morning, loved ones. Welcome to another episode of All Things God. This is your host, John Huffman. Today we're going to go all the way back to the beginning, two centuries, or two hundred, two thousand years ago. All the way back to the Apostles' Creed. The reason is since the Apostles' Creed, which I agree with, but even with the Apostles' Creed, there is a limited um revelation of who Jesus Christ is. Why? Because he is Alpha and Omega. Do you remember in Revelation? Well, you probably don't remember, but in Revelation, Jesus says, Tell the angel of the Lord to give this testimony about me. I am both the root and the offspring of David. I believe that's Revelation 22. He's both the root and the offspring of David. So if the apostles received the revelation that he's the root, and it wasn't revealed that he was the offspring until our generation, then they would only have a partial revelation of Jesus Christ. They'd know he's the Son, they'd know that He is the atonement for our sins, and He is the only door through which we might enter into salvation. That is the beginning. That is just like Peter's revelation in Matthew 16, 18. You're the Messiah, you're the Son of God. Flesh and blood didn't reveal that to you, Peter, my Father in heaven did. That's who Jesus was at that day and hour. But when he returns, the second coming is the revelation that Jesus is God. John the apostle received this revelation on the island of Patmos. It's in Revelation chapter 10, verse 4. But after he received it by the seventh unders, he was told by the Father to seal that part up. He had to seal it up because it was not yet timed for that to be revealed. Yes, that's who Jesus is, but the full revelation of who he is is not yet known. There are some things that are meant to be kept quiet and because of timing. And God knows the reason and purpose for all of that. Anyway, so the apostles' creed, they had a partial revelation of Jesus Christ. But at least they were apostles. So they did have, they laid the foundation, which was he is our atonement. Jesus is our atonement. He's not coming back as a lamb. He's coming back as a king. He's coming back in a very different manner than the way he came the first time. Do you see what I'm saying? He came the first time to lay his life down. He's coming back the second time to redeem. He purchased us with his own blood. He laid his life down, purchased us with his own blood. That's why he came. So now he's coming to retrieve us. What for the wedding feast? This is a conjunction. This is a cooperative. Um I and the Father are one. I and him, him and me. That's I and the Father are one. There's no difference of opinion. It's not they share the same essence. They're one. God is a spirit. But the Father and the Son are working together to bring something to fruition. You know, when you um start a vineyard, you don't start the vineyard just for the sake of growing vines. You start the vineyard for the sake of producing wine. You see what I'm saying? There's something meant to there's an outcome. And the same guy who planted the vines for you isn't necessarily the same guy pressing the grapes. You may have a vignette, uh, a man over the entire operation that you leave there for the whole time. But the same guys that are there digging holes in the ground, planting the vines aren't the same guys pressing the grapes. And so it's a different set of guys. So when you go to that vineyard and you say, What's your job? Well, one guy a hundred years ago, two hundred years ago would have said, Oh, I'm the guy who plants all the vines. That guy's gone. Why? Because there's no need to plant vines anymore. They're planted. It's time to press the grapes. So go back to the same vineyard. Ask the guy, what's your job? I pressed grapes. Well, that guy couldn't didn't have a job until the vines were planted. We are going to see the Lord as he is. And no one knows what that is, only the Father. It says that Jesus is the firstborn of all creation. He is the only begotten Son. Two things that I know about him that I that I can't explain is that he's the firstborn of all creation and that he's the only begotten son. And I don't think my way through these things with God. I talk to God. Everything I know about God, God told me. I didn't choose that. He chose me for that. And it's cost me everything. If you want to be close to God, be prepared for some shaking up because everything that can be shaken will be shaken. So what I'm trying to say to you is we can't be looking for the lamb. The lamb ain't coming back. The lamb's already been slaughtered. The lion's coming back. You know, there's a scripture that says day will come when the lion and lamb will lay down together. In Christ. That's who Jesus is, the lion and the lamb. They're talking about Jesus. He's going to rest when this is all over. We are his bride. We are his bride. I'm here to prepare people. Come to the wedding feast. The master is sent me here to get a bride for his son. Are you part of it? You've been going to church 50 years? I don't know if you are. You aren't. You can't put new wine into old wineskins. Why? You lose both the wine and the wineskin. I'm trying to help you, but you can't be so stubborn in your religion that you won't see the truth. You've got to come out of religion. Religion is the tree of knowledge. You've got to come out of her. If you're going to be part of God's kingdom, you can't eat from the tree of knowledge. You have to eat from the tree of life. So it's telling you about the Apostles' Creed. I agree with it, but the relevance for today is not as relevant as you might think. Why? Because our Savior is not a lamb anymore. He's not coming back as a lamb. He's coming as a lion. And so we need that revelation. The revelation I have of Jesus Christ is that He's God. And when I met the Holy Spirit, he introduced himself the same way. He introduced himself as I am. How it all works with the three of them? They're one. There's only one there. God is the Spirit. Okay, God the Father sitting on the throne. Jesus Christ, God the Son, is God manifest in the flesh. In other words, he took on flesh, just like John said in chapter one. In the beginning was the word, the word was with God, the word was God, the word put on flesh and dwelt among us. That's what the word says. I'm not teaching something heretical here. Who do you think I am, Andy Stanley? Anyway, so the Son is God manifest in the flesh. Who's the Spirit then? The Spirit is the presence of God on the earth while he's still sitting on the throne. So the Spirit is God also, but he's the presence of God on the earth. While he's still sitting on the throne. He's capable of doing that. You sit on your couch and play port tonight, don't you? So you're running around in that little video game on your TV while you're sitting on your couch eating a bologna sandwich. But God can't do it. He's the creator of all living things. So the lamb is not coming back, the lioness. Okay? Why is that important? Well, because if you're waiting for a lamb to show up, you're gonna miss it. That hour has passed. If you don't, if you've not had a born-again experience, you need to be born again. God will fill you with the Spirit. That's what John 16 says. If you're trying to read your Bible and understand it, and there's 80,000 different people on YouTube, TikTok, and every other social media trying to tell you about God, shut it off. They don't even know God. I met him nose to nose, face to face, shook his hand. I was judged by God, the King of Heaven. Stood before him naked and afraid. He judged me and he forgave me and he adopted me. And I'd like to I'd like to introduce you to him. And the wedding piece is coming, so I've got to prepare the bride. You don't want to come? You would rather do something else? Go, go do it. This is the funny thing about what Abraham said to Aliazar. When the young maiden, stand at the well when the young maiden comes, bid her come. If she's willing, then bring her back. If she ain't, then she ain't the right girl. If you ain't willing to come to the wedding feast, you ain't the right girl. It's just that simple. Yeah, you're gonna perish in hell. Sorry for ya. Wish it could have changed it, but everybody has to make their own choice. Anyway, that's enough for today. Bye.
