In this episode, I share the heart behind this podcast and why I believe our greatest moments with God often happen in the middle of everyday life. Welcome to the very first episode of Valetha's Greatest Moments with God. Yay! You made it into the room. And I'm so glad you're here. My prayer is that this podcast helps you hear God's voice, find healing, and build intimacy and trust with Him. So, in the next few minutes, we're going to talk about how I came up with this idea, or I should say how God came up with it. Tell you a little bit about myself and then what you can expect with every episode that you tune into. Let's start with the title, Valetha's Greatest Moments with God. So, as you notice, my name is Val Mitchell. And Valetha is my birth name. So when I got this title from God, I was scratching my head, like, why he didn't start out with Val Mitchell? I mean, for those who do not know me, I do a weekly Facebook Live where I come in on Saturdays at 10 a.m. and we talk about things that God wanted to share. It could be a biblical scripture with a deeper revelation, it can be a journey that I'm going through, whatever it is. I sit in prayer in that morning and I say, God, what do you want to say to your people? And then I come in on Saturday and release. So I was good with Saturdays on Facebook Live. Then one morning in prayer, as I was journaling what I was hearing from the Lord, side note anytime you pray, you should always have a journal handy. Because you get so caught up in the moment. But then an hour or two from now, you'll forget what he said. So I was journaling what I heard, and one word I heard was podcast. So I came out of prayer like podcast. Okay, what is God trying to say? Because that was nowhere in my future whatsoever. So I left it to the side and I said, I'll just pray into it and see what revelation comes out of it. Last week, I had an amazing opportunity to go to the country of beliefs. I went for two reasons. One, just to take a vacation and sit back and relax, and two, I knew of a conference, a woman's conference that was going on. And I knew some of the people that was hosting it, a prophetess that was speaking. So I said, Oh, I can get two for one, get some relaxation, get some rest, and then go get filled with this great women's conference they had going on. In the conference, the great woman of God released the word from the Lord, which said, In the next seven days, God wants us to start a business and then He's gonna breathe on it. I was like, Oh, went right into prayer. I received that word from myself. Lord, what business are we going to start? What are we going to do? I mean, I write books, you know, so I'm like, okay, we're gonna do another book, Lord. What are we doing? Instantly, God reminded me of what he said in prayer a couple weeks earlier. Podcast. I want you to start a podcast. I'm like, a podcast in seven days? I know nothing about podcasts. I barely even listen to podcasts. So in those next seven days, because I said, okay, God, I'm gonna give you my yes. And then from that, I received Veletha's greatest moments with God. So I'm hustling and learning about podcasts, how to set up podcasts, buy equipment for podcasts, some software for podcasts. So I am work in progress, as you can see back here. So we're stepping out on faith. But I really dug into why did God call it Valetha's greatest moments with God? Then Revelation came out. It is the name that instantly reminded me of the verse in Jeremiah that says, I knew you before you were formed in your mother's room. So when I was birthed, I was birthed with that name. From that time up to where I am today, it has been a journey. It has been good moments, scary moments, crazy moments, screaming, why me God moments, until where I am at today. And all of those moments that I have learned that I was able to go through, and mind you, some I'm still going through to this day, but I could not have made it without God. So when he came and said, the greatest moments with God, I understood that in this podcast, I'm gonna be talking about my journey. We're gonna be digging into some revelations that I discover as I read the word. And hopefully, out of that, you'll be able to get something for your situation and realize that one, you're not the only one that's going through. And two, God can make any moment into a great moment as long as He is in the picture, too. So, next, let me tell you about who I am in my journey. So I am a corporate mother, I've been in corporate a very long time, almost 30 years, and I'm still in it. But I've been there, I have three amazing sons. I have two in their early 20s, and then yes, we have one in their 11th. So I've been married, I've been divorced, I thought I found love again. We had a son, and we ended up separating. So I have lived the life journey of a single mom two times, I'll say. So life was not always easy. There were many obstacles and challenges along the way. And like I said, I have boys. I have three boys as a mom by herself. That's a journey all by itself. That is what drove me to seek God, and that's how I developed a relationship of prayer because I have learned that God not only sees you, but when you pray, he hears you and he answers. And he has always showed up in the most unexpected places in my life. I'm a woman of faith, and so I live in my prayer closet. I pray every day, every morning, as a matter of fact, and sometimes throughout the day. To me, I am a strong believer that you have to have a dedicated place where you and the Father meet on a regular basis, and you'll be surprised if you commit to that place, he will show up. And sometimes he's even in there before I arrive. Back in COVID, God had me on Facebook Lives and praying in my car. And it was for busy moms like myself, and at the time, my two older ones were in their early teens, where life was wherever they needed to go. If I wasn't working on the job, bringing work home from the job, and then being the traveling Uber for my sons, I was rarely home. So my car became my safe haven and it became my place where I talked to God. But one thing I always learned through this journey is that if you keep your focus on God and His Word and being obedient, He shows up and shows out all the time. So, what can you expect from this podcast? So, like I said, we're gonna talk about my journey, we're gonna talk about what's on your heart. I'm gonna share how I hear from God, and I believe when he speaks, a lot of us don't recognize that it's him that's speaking. So we're gonna talk about that. But ultimately, all this is to allow me to hold your hand through your process, and as you do that, I introduce you to the Father and allow him to build trust in you, hope again, and out of that, healing comes. I'm a woman of prayer, so yeah, we're gonna do a little praying every now and then, but ultimately, my God is to show you how to turn your prayer directly to him. Because he doesn't want to hear from me, he wants to hear from you. And then finally, we're gonna talk about promises. Delay never means denial, it just means you're going through something. There's a process, there's a learning, there are people he wants you to meet, whatever it is. When God speaks it, it's going to come to pass. And then finally, we're going to talk about the Bible. And what I'm a firm believer of is no matter what you're going through, seriously, no matter what you're going through in life, you can find that story, that character in the Bible. And what's so great about that is that you can see how it started, you can see what they're going through, but God shows you how to get out of it. He shows you the end. And anytime we can see that, we got a fighting chance to making it through our own situation. So, some episodes will be based on my personal testimony. Some are going to focus on biblical truths and how to apply practical applications. But I hope that you are excited as much as I am because I'm going to have a new episode for you every week on Saturdays at 11 a.m. Eastern Standard Time. We're going to walk through this journey called Life Together. So, in closing, I really want to thank you for being here. I'm glad that you decided to listen to what to expect in these episodes going forward. It truly means a lot to me. I'm a firm believer that our steps are ordered, that we always end up at the right place at the right time, no matter what's going on. Our steps are ordered by God. And if you are still listening in this moment, that means God has invited you here into the room. So I hope you'll join me each week as we discover what God is saying through everyday life and learn how to walk more closely with Him. So until the next time, plan on hearing God's voice. Plan on finding some healing. Plan on building intimacy and trust with God. I'm Val Mitchell, and I'll see you soon.
