The fruit of the Spirit from Galatians 5 and 22 is the characteristics of love, characteristics of joy, of peace, of forbearance or long suffering, gentleness or kindness and goodness. This week we're going to touch on faith. When you hear the word of God and you start doing and practicing it, it naturally allows him to increase those particular fruits. Amen. And that is what we are on this journey for, because we are wanting for him to increase that within us. Amen. Because when it's within us, it naturally flows out of us and it blesses those that are around us. So this week we're going to talk about faith. And I hope you don't mind. I got a lot of notes on my phone here. So I wasn't able to take time and go through a lot. So just bear with me if you see me still picking up my fault. Amen. Amen. So when we talk about having faith, as we know God, He is full of faith and He is faithful to His Word. We have to know what we are praising Him for. We have to know what the meaning is of that so we can appreciate it and also do it on our end. Amen. So Hebrews 11 and 1 tells us faith is the assurance of things hoped for and the conviction of things not yet seen. So when we talk about faith, it is something that you have that you're hoping that will come to pass. And no matter what, you are believing that you shall see it one day because you're hoping for it, you're desiring it, and you have trust that it shall come to pass, even though it's not here today. That's why the word says it's that assurance. Because when we put our faith in God and He gives us a yes, that's a natural guarantee, an automatic guarantee that we will see it. But we always often get tricked because we because we don't see any manifest manifestation of that thing hoped for. Or it's what's happening in our lives today is completely opposite of that faith that we're trying to carry out. And if you don't recall, probably a couple months ago, I left here on the page, it was my personal testimony specifically related to faith. And if you haven't seen it, I encourage you just scroll through the videos until you find it. But what I was talking about is when my two sons were in high school, and I was one, they were like two years apart, and I was praying for God to help me with the tuition for the oldest son so he can go off to school. Because I'm I'm a single mother, you know, bills were tight. I didn't have the luxury or the wisdom as well to diligently put money aside while they were growing up so that way when they got to college time, it would be no issues. I didn't have that. I couldn't afford that. And like I said, a lot of times I just didn't properly use wisdom to do that. But anyhow, we took it to God, we took it to him and asking, is him going to college in your will? Is this particular college that he wanted to go to, which was tuition was up the roof? Is that particular college something you can be within your will? And then if it is, Lord, can you release what is needed so that way we can go through it and he can graduate? Long story short, I won't tell the story. God gave us a yes for him to attend that college. And he also told me a promise. And the only promise I got from him was he will graduate. I didn't get no house he was gonna graduate. I didn't get no, here's the money, so you can pay the tuition, he's gonna graduate. All I got was his word that he was gonna graduate. So that was my hope. And my assurance was that word from the Lord. And I took both of those and we walked it out. And that journey was not easy. That journey left me with some times where I didn't think he was going to be able to finish because of finances that he may have to come home. But in the end, this year in May of 2023, God fulfilled a promise that he gave me in 2018 that my son graduated from college. Amen to that. Amen to that. So I tell you that to encourage you that when we hold on to something by faith, we have to know it may not come to pass that very next day. It may not even look like it's going to ever come to pass, which make you want to just give up on it and forget about it. God says, hold on to that faith. Because 2 Corinthians 5 and 7 says, we live by faith. Being a believer, being a Christian means that there's a lot of things that God has promised us. They're all in his word. And when we hold on to that word and it's released in our lives, we have to walk it out. Believe me, that it shall come to pass, even when it doesn't look like it in the natural. Amen. Hebrews 11 and 6 says, without faith, it is impossible to please God. God says that if you're going to come with me, if you're going to walk this walk out, what he used to tell me all the time when I was waiting on when my kids were in school and we were trying to do the tuition, it was faith over fear. No matter how many times I griped and moaned and complained, and Jesus help me, he would say, Child, faith over fear. Because when we have faith, then we know it's possible to please him. And I'm in the boat that if he says it, then it's I believe it and it's going to come to pass. And then I'm pleasing God because I'm taking him at his word. It's just like our children today when they're little, and they ask for ice cream or something to go to the park, something they really, really, really want to do. And at that very moment, you can't give it to them. But you promise to take them once you're done doing whatever you're doing. And it pleases you if that child is sitting there so patiently, so excited. Mom's gonna take me to get some ice cream, mom's gonna take me to get some ice cream. No matter five hours went by because you're busy doing what you're doing, because he's sitting and he's waiting and he's patiently, mom's gonna give me some ice cream, mom's gonna give me some ice cream. That makes you so more excited to be able to take him, to give him what he has faith in receiving, versus him sitting there, mom said I was gonna have some ice cream. She ain't even through it. It's been an hour, it's been two hours. I ain't gonna even get the ice cream. Forget the ice cream, this and that, this and that. Oh Lord, I'm blessing myself with that. Amen. Amen. So, the one last thing I want to make sure you know that because we are Christians, it does not exclude us from getting hit. It does not exclude us from life's challenges, from life's problems. Even when you're holding on to faith and holding on to that insurance, which is his word, and waiting to walk it out, we are still going to get hit. Ecclesiastes 9 and 11, and of course I'm reading from the message Bible. It says, I took another walk around the neighborhood and realized that on this earth as it is, the race is not always given to the swift, nor the battle is always given to the strong, nor satisfaction is always given to the wise, and nor riches given to the smart, nor grace to the learned, but sooner or later, bad luck it hits us all. It will be so nice to say, yeah, this bad issue right here, I'm gonna decide who's the strongest, who's the wisest, who's the one that can have the most satisfaction, who has all the money. I'll give it to that person because I know they can be able to come through. No, that same issue, that same battle, that same thing that falls and brings us that hit, bad luck. It hits us off. It can be a hit of losing someone, losing a relationship. It can be a hit of lost job, a career. It can be a hit of a struggle that you came out of nowhere when it comes to battling a friend, a loved one, or child, an unexpected bad occurrence, sickness, illness, death, it all hits us. It's that unexpected, an unpredictable circumstance, it's just a part of life. And it often interrupts our predictable flow of events. Because when you're walking by faith, you're excited. You're just like my son that was sitting there waiting on some ice cream. You are just excited because mommy said, or in this case, the Lord says, You're going to go get that ice cream. So you're walking it out, you're excited, and you're just patiently waiting for him to deliver it. And then that unexpected, unpredictable circumstance hits, and it hits hard. Because we are believers of faith. I am going to encourage you today, get up, don't stay there, don't stay in that state. Because what you have faith and assurance for, we are going to still believe God. So when you fall, recognize the fall. Understand that life occurs. Feel that issue, whatever you're feeling, of loss, of depression, pain, and guilt. But as I love Thai tribute, that one song, you gotta get it out. Only one night though. Only one night though. Because joy comes in the morning. So get up, dust yourself off and get back to moving. And you may not be able to go right initially into your stride. I know I don't. Sometimes I am crawling just to get up and get at it. But ended up slowly walking because that was a painful hit. Amen. But the fact that you still have your faith and your assurance, and we know that God's word always comes to pass, we have something to hope for, and we can get up and keep it moving. Amen. Amen. So I am hoping that this increased your faith. I'm hoping that what you are believing God for does allow it to bubble up and stir in your spirit. And don't forget about it. Because me, I even have some things that it hasn't come to pass yet. And then the longer you wait, the less enthused you are about it. You don't even care anymore if it does or doesn't happen. But I am here to let you know that if he said it, believe it, and it shall come to pass. Amen. Amen. So we're going to pray. We're going to ask God to increase your faith because we want your faith to be that thing that you're hoping for. Just like Hebrews 11 and 1, the assurance of the things hoped for and the conviction of things not yet seen. And I pray that whatever you are believing God for, that you choose faith over fear. What is fear? Fear is doubting. Fear is complaining. Fear ultimately is just not believing or stop caring because you're thinking God won't do it. And it's not that you don't think he can't do it, you just don't think he wants to do it for you. Been there. Done there. And he even did something this year that I had been waiting six years to see manifest. Six years. I can get tender just some thinking about it. But when he did it, suddenly I did a shift. And I dropped to my knees and just cried. I just cried. At that point, I don't even care why it took six years. But it came and it came suddenly. See, what we seem to forget is when God, when we give something to God, and when God says yes, he goes right to work. He goes right to work. But what he doesn't let us see is what he's doing while he's working. He don't let us see all the behind the scenes things that are taking place. Things that he's doing, things that he's putting deposits into other people to lift them up so they can align to receive, to give what you need to receive. It's so many details behind the scenes that he's working, that we're just sitting here close to all of that activity and just saying, I'm just waiting. I'm just waiting. I'm just waiting. And when you get tired of waiting, you're like, well, I don't want it no more. He's like, but I've done all of this work back here. I've done all of this. And this person and this person, I'm lining up to fulfill what I've already said. I'm a promise. I'm working on them. I'm doing this over here. You can't give up now. I've done too much. Put trust back into it and let me do me. So when I give it to you, it's gonna surpass and exceed your expectations, which he always delivers on. So you have to say, okay, God, you at work, you doing it. Okay, I can't see it. Okay, but you but you work it, right? But you work it. Okay. Then I'm gonna go back to my faith and assurance of things hoped for. And I'm gonna hold on because God told me, oh, he's still working on it. Okay, that it must be big. If he ain't gave it to me yet, because he's still working on it. So trust in God and have faith in God and hold on to that faith and have God increase your faith. We started out as a mustard seed, remember? He said, as long as you have faith the size of a mustard seed, I can work with that. But now we're getting to the point, if you've been in this walk for a little bit longer, that mustard seed got to be planted, grown, and get a little bit bigger and a little bit bigger. And for what he has already done for you in the past, he's already proven himself that he's a faithful God. So you you should be way past the mustard seed stage right now. You should be a lot bigger, a lot more patient, and whatever you're waiting on, know he's he's working behind the scenes. He's working, he's doing his thing. He got he got some jobs going on behind the scenes. So we got to trust and believe. And I'm gonna tell you again, like he told me, faith over fear. All right. I think I held you way too long. I love faith. It's a it's a personal testimony for me because of all the things that I had hope and assurance from his word. And I'm honing on. Well, I've been slipping, and then he pops in to say, Don't you dare fall off of this train yet? I'm still working. Oh, okay, you're still working, Lord. Okay, let me get back in here. Oh, it's taking so long. I don't even know if I'm wanting anymore. Are you getting off the train? No, no, Jesus. You still working? Okay, okay. I can go on and on. Well, let us pray. Heavenly Father, I praise you. I give you glory, I give you honor. Father, thank you for faith. Thank you for your word. Thank you for being a faithful God. That if you say you will do it, we will receive it. And Father, I pray for all those that are listening. And I ask that whatever they have hope and assurance on for you, that you increase it, that you give them confirmation that you are working on that thing they are waiting to come to pass so it can refresh them and renew them and increase their faith even more. Father, we are here for the fruit of the challenge, fruit of the spirit challenge, asking for you to increase our faith this week. Give us trust back in you, remove the fear so we can have that hope to believe that what you said will come to pass in this right timing, and when it's ready, it will come to pass.
